We got married at 128 South in November! Our experience planning the wedding and having the wedding at this venue were amazing! The staff at 128 South were always extremely kind, quick in their responses to questions, and genuinely excited to help make our day special. We even booked our day of coordinator through the venue. Davis was a fabulous coordinator! He coordinated all of our vendors on the day of the wedding and made sure our wedding party had everything we needed throughout the day. We also loved the food selection, the historic beauty of the venue, and the close proximity to shops/restaurants in downtown Wilmington! Overall, I highly recommend choosing 128 South!

We got married at 128 south a few weeks ago and I cannot say enough about our entire experience. After attending a couple of events at 128 I knew when my wedding day came this is where Iâd want to have it. The location, the character and beautiful details are what drew me to it. It truly is beautiful as is. And donât get me started on the food- every last thing was delicious. The main thing we heard from guest was how beautiful it was and how good the food was! All of the staff was SO attentive and kind and keep every last moment running smoothly. We could not have asked for a better venue and better service from their employees.

We could not have made a better decision than booking with 128 South. Their team is truly one in a million and made the entire wedding planning process so much easier. They were responsive and took so much stress of wedding planning off our shoulders. Davis and Katie especially were such a huge part in making our day run perfectly. Our two biggest compliments from our guests were how good the food was and how amazing of a coordinator Davis was. Truly some of the best food we have ever had and the venue itself is beyond breathtaking. I could not recommend them enough and thank the team for all the love!!!

I cannot say enough about the staff and chef at 128 South! From start to finish they made the process simple, affordable and fun! I have to be honest they made the planning process stress free. I held a wedding party brunch at 128 South as well as my rehearsal dinner. They helped me reach my vision and were very flexible. In my experience, using vendors in the wedding industry most of them love to tell you ânoâ and also like to ânickel and dimeâ you at every turn, however the staff at 128 was full of ideas to help make my vision come true! They always gave me a, âYes we can do that!â Davis and Jordan were who I interacted with most and they were the best! Justin took care of my rehearsal dinner and made my husband and I feel so special and made sure we had everything we needed. Can we just talk about the chef for a minute? We asked for some custom food items and he created them for us to taste. He nailed it! The food was so freaking good! People are still talking about it! Have every event at Bakery or 128! Catering on-site makes all of the difference!! I cannot recommend this place enough. Iâm already thinking about calling them to set up a party for my 1 year anniversary!

Iâm am still in awe at how perfect our wedding (08.12.23) was. Anyone can see this venue is beautiful, but everyone should know the whole staff at 128 South is fantastic. Davis was beyond helpful and helped us coordinate everything. On the day of, he consistently checked in with my husband and I to make sure we were okay and comfortable which meant so much. Weddings are supposed to be inherently hectic, ours was not and I attribute that to Davis and everyone else at 128 South.

We hosted our wedding at 128 South in August 2023 and it was wonderful! The inside of the venue is gorgeous with stained glass windows and a balcony that makes the space feel very open. The outside has a wonderful view of the river and a is under a covered tent. We had around 80-90 guests and it never felt too crowded. We hosted our wedding here in April 2023. It was the perfect venue! The space itself is gorgeous and needed minimal additional decorating. The food catered by 128 South was amazing. All of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful both during the planning and day of our event. Davis was our day-of coordinator and he was excellent! There were some last minute changes required due to weather and other unpredictable circumstances but he made sure everything went smoothly and that the whole evening went well! Would absolutely recommend 128 South!

I stumbled across this venue as I was walking downtown and they were setting up an event for that evening. They graciously like me come in and take a long. It was the first venue I looked at and later made an appt with mgmt. From the first look, to the first meeting and every interaction between then and the wedding, Katie and Jordan were absolutely wonderful, responsive and happy to give advice or recommendations. Response time was always very quick and thorough. The day of the even could not have been any better, the place looked beautiful, all of the staff were phenomenal and the food was outstanding! Many guests of mine raved about how awesome the food and service was. Because of their support and ability to seamlessly turn things around many people have said it's the best wedding they have ever been to. Yay! It was definitely the best day of my life. I highly recommend 128 South/The Bakery to anyone looking to get married in historic downtown Wilmington.

Its a beautiful venue with great character, and excellent stewards maintaining that standard! This review is long overdue! My son got married at 128 South on May 28, 2022. We made all the arrangements long distance with Katie. Communication along the way was clear, prompt and professional. Any question was answered and nearly all requests accommodated. As for the day of the wedding, there are no words to describe how smoothly our event went and how we were able to completely immerse ourselves in the event, because we had no worries at all! Katie and Davis and the rest of the staff took care of EVERYTHING and allowed us to simply enjoy our day. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding of around 100 people. We had slightly less and it felt just right in size. We took advantage of the wedding day package which is almost all inclusive and it made planning a breeze. Everything looked beautiful and the food was delicious! Our guests all raved about what a great wedding it was and we could not agree more. Bravo 128 South!

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW AND BOOK 128 SOUTH! My husband and I had our wedding at 128 South in March 2022. Yâall, it was BEYOND perfect. 128 South made it so that I could relax, be present, and fully ENJOY my wedding day. I had so much trust in the venue and the team who made my wedding vision come to life.Katie Swain was our day of coordinator and she was so gracious in helping us navigate a COVID wedding postponement and planning of our big day. She had every minute (literally, every minute) of our ceremony and reception planned - she made sure everyone was where they needed to be at the right time and that everything was placed in just the right spot. Thanks to Katie and Davis, everything flowed seamlessly. I know that they say no wedding is perfect, and of course Iâm a bit biased (and might have not noticed any errors because I was Bride-chilla), but I truly believe that our day was flawless. And it could not have happened without the 128 South team. Katie coordinated all of the details and scheduling between the DJ (shoutout to Shawn Booth from ActiveDJ Entertainment!), florist (Thank you FlowersbySol!), photographer (the talented Erin Taylor Photography) and family participation. What drew us to 128 South was the combination of a historic indoor space with character (those stained glass windows!) and the outdoor deck overlooking the river (perfect for sunset views and a nice breeze when a break is needed from the sweaty dance floor). The location of downtown was SO ideal for guests to walk from local hotels and to continue the party down the street at a local bar after the wedding ended. Another thing that we loved about 128 South is that the food and alcohol are part of the package (which means less planning!). You can choose from a variety of food packages - we went with the Charleston Touch and received dozens of compliments about the food in particular. We decided on the open bar package which kept guests happy and provided passed champagne for the toasts. Katie was so responsive, always on top of every detail that we needed, and flexible to facilitate last minute changes that are bound to occur. Davis was amazing as well as was so friendly and kind, a true professional. I canât imagine the stress of coordinating someone else'sâ event, but they were unfazed and ALWAYS, always, met us with a smile and helping hand (whether it be providing us with apps after newly wed photos, helping me with the impossible buttons on my dress to change into the reception party outfit, or making sure I had a drink in my hand). We canât say enough good things about this venue and all of the staff that made this perfect day possible! Book it book it! I promise you will not regret it.

128 South was a truly fantastic venue. I honestly can't say enough good things about the staff and the location. From start to finish - great communication, exceptional friendliness and professionalism, and just a beautiful venue. We didn't need excessive decorations because the venue itself is so beautiful, and we never had a single negative interaction with staff. Katie Swain was our in-house day-of coordinator, and she was AMAZING (as was Davis!). No question or request was too small, and they took such great care of us throughout the entire process, from booking through planning, and all the way through the wedding day. We were also so happy the venue was able to accommodate us including our dogs in the ceremony. Our guests complimented us multiple times on the gorgeous venue, the delicious food, and the great staff. Our wedding party was shocked (in a good way!) at how efficiently the staff decorated and then got the decorations safely packed up at the end of the night. We couldn't have been happier to get married at 128 and can't recommend it enough.

Katie was so responsive and helpful, always offering advice, ideas and recommendations where we needed it. The river view and deck is seriously awesome too. 128 was AMAZING!!!! The day of, we rented the cottage for the ladies to get ready and then walked over for the ceremony and reception. Jordan did an amazing job making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious, the decor was amazing and everyone had a great time! Even the building was perfect for sunset pictures and photos after the ceremony. I would absolutely recommend this place for a perfect wedding day!!!

They did everything to make sure the event ran smoothly, and their attention to each detail was superb. We booked 128 South because the view from the back deck is amazing!! 128 South went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted, even in the middle of a pandemic! They were so helpful when we had to move our wedding date and even helped us personalize our menu. Recently I had the pleasure of working with 128 South for my son and daughter in laws wedding in August. As with almost every couple planning a wedding in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic, the wedding that was planned wasn't possible. Initially, the wedding was planned for November 21st. Fearing a second wave of Covid 19 as was being predicted for the fall we made the difficult decision in June to change all the previous plans that had been made. I immediately called 128 South and worked with event planners Katie and Jordan . They both were consummate professionals dealing with everything I threw at them and it was a lot. We decided to move the wedding planned for November 21st up to August 6th to try and avoid high numbers of Covid. No longer did we have months to plan this wedding we had weeks, and Katie and Jordan stepped up and helped me every step of the way. Instead of having all our family and friends attending and having a band play for the party after, we went to immediate family only. The after rehearsal party planned for Bakery 105 was moved to be the sit down dinner after their beautiful small wedding. Katie and Jordan and the staff assigned for the wedding went above and beyond to ensure that safety was the number 1 priority. Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful. The staff at 128 South was very attentive and I didn't have to worry about a single detail. The food was amazing from the appetizers to the sit down meal. My wedding director told me she had worked with many venues in the past, but 128 South ranked at the very top of her list of wedding venues she had ever worked with. At 128 South the staff was professional, attentive, efficient, and the safety measures provided were beyond reproach. I highly recommend 128 South for your upcoming events.

We had such a good experience working with Katie (the wedding coordinator) and the crew at Bakery 105/128 South. We had our wedding set and planned out and then the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Katie did such a great job working through countless variations of what the day would look like with us, trying to figure out what would be allowed during all of the restrictions, while still trying to have our dream wedding. Katie more than exceeded our expectations as a planner during the whole process, but especially the day of, she took care of so many things that we didn't even think about- her attention to detail is top notch! We had such a good experience working with Katie (the wedding coordinator) and the crew at Bakery 105/128 South. We had our wedding set and planned out and then the Covid-19 pandemic hit. They were even more beautiful in the evening during our reception seeing the sun come through the windows and shine off the stained glass. We also loved that 128 South does its own catering. While some people may not prefer this, it was perfect for us because we didn't have to worry about reaching out to other caterers (yay, less wedding stress), AND the food was AMAZING!! Y'all, seriously I just want to eat there regularly it was so good. Katie and Jordan, our coordinators at 128, were extremely helpful and there whenever we needed them whether through phone or email, for questions and concerns big or small. And perhaps the best part was that on the wedding day I didn't have to worry about a thing. Absolutely gorgeous place! I had both my ceremony and reception here, and they took care of everything from start to finish and the coordinators know the place better than anyone! Honestly cannot say enough good things about 128 South! The venue itself is so unique and beautiful-the deck is my absolute favorite! On top of that, all of the staff that we worked with were amazing-Chere was our day of coordinator and she was just the best. The whole wedding planning experience was wonderful and our wedding was perfect!

We had our reception at 128 South and could not have been happier. The whole team at 128 South was so helpful and incredibly responsive. I had a lot of questions as we were planning everything, and they were so patient with me. They offered great recommendations for other vendors in the area, and you can tell they have great connections with the overall wedding industry in Wilmington. They basically have everything down to a science and made it incredibly easy for us to plan the wedding, and it all went incredibly smooth the night of the reception. We also loved that they offered food and beverage services versus having to search for a different caterer. They have great bar packages, and their food is fantastic. We had a lot of guests tell us that it was some of the best wedding food they have ever had! We held our cocktail hour on the back patio, moved inside for dinner and speeches, and then back out to the patio for dancing/rest of the night, which seemed to flow really well with the different spaces. Our guests loved the patio area â it offers beautiful views to the river, and the built in benches offered a huge plus for different areas for people to visit and congregate. The inside doesnât require a whole lot either with the brick and stained glass windows, so the building offers a lot of character without having to add a lot of decorations to it. Everyone that worked the reception was so sweet and friendly. You will not be disappointed if you choose 128 South!

We had our reception at 128 South and could not have been happier. The whole team at 128 South was so helpful and incredibly responsive. I had a lot of questions as we were planning everything, and they were so patient with me. They offered great recommendations for other vendors in the area, and you can tell they have great connections with the overall wedding industry in Wilmington. They basically have everything down to a science and made it incredibly easy for us to plan the wedding, and it all went incredibly smooth the night of the reception. My husband and I had our reception at 128 South and we had such an amazing experience! Our guests had the time of their lives and raved about the unique beauty of the venue and the delicious food. We worked with Chere and Jordan throughout the process and they were wonderful! They were very understanding, patient and responsive and ultimately helped create such an unforgettable reception for us. The bartenders and wait staff that worked at our reception were also very professional, helpful and attentive. Our reception was everything we could have ever hoped for and more!

I had 108 people and it was the perfect venue for that size of a wedding. Katie, the coordinator through 128 South, was also amazing. 128 South was an excellent venue, with great staff, an AMAZING day-of coordinator in Jordan, and a great atmosphere and interior (we didn't add much decor except flowers and lighting). Even for our June wedding, the tented outdoors porch area was tolerable with the breeze off the river.

My husband and I got married at 128 South last Sunday. Last year we traveled to Wilmington to choose a venue, after two days we were super discouraged. Someone suggested 128 South to us so we called them late Friday afternoon and explained that we were from out of town and really wanted to see the venue. The manager went above and beyond by coming in early the following day (even though they had two events that evening and it was Azalea Festival weekend) to show us their spaces. We both fell in love with 128 the minute we walked in. For over a year, Jordan was extremely helpful with all of my questions. The food was amazing!!! My only complaint was that the plated service took a long time. We contemplated adding an additional hour to the reception but after discussing with Jordan we were told that the plated service would take less than an hour. It definitely took a lot longer than that and cut into our dancing time outside. Other than that everything was amazing!!

What a beautiful venue for a wedding. It turned out exactly how we envisioned our special day, in large part thanks to the staff at 128 South! The food was incredible, the coordinators went out of their way to be available for us at all times, and responded very quickly to any of our questions during the process. 128 South is an excellent venue, as a bride I was stress free since Jordan took over our wedding coordination, she was patient, kind and prepared. This venue is lovely it is not the typical ballroom is a different but very charming and convenient setting that does not require much decoration and has an option of outdoor terrace where we spent most of our evening, another plus is that all the vendors in Wilmington are used to work with 128 South which makes your life very easy because they contact each other and figure things out. The food was incredible everyone commented about this and the staff was always friendly. A great experience!

I had my wedding and reception at 128 South on 10/07/16. It was the most memorable and wonderful day of my life thanks to 128! Jordan was my coordinator and she is a top notch expert at her job. As with every wedding something might veer off plan, ours had a small one, my father, recovering from knee surgery wasnt able to make it onto the deck after dinner for our father/daughter dance, my mind was blank, what to do? I wanted to have our planned dance! Jordan, as calm and collected as ever, suggested dancing in the main room--clever! Why didn't I think of that? That's what you pay a DOC for, to be there and find solutions when needed. Their staff discretly pushed a table aside and my father and I had our special dance! Jordan also made sure our sparkler exit went off without a hitch, we had to do it earlier in the evening than planned because the driving rain from Hurricane Matthew had just begun, no worries! We got amazing photos of our \"exit\" with rain and sparkler fire in the brick alley beside 128 and it looked brilliant. Afterwards we all went back upstairs and danced some more! I can't praise 128 South and their staff enough, I want to have another party event there just to enjoy it again and again. Truly, 128 South is THE place to have your wedding or reception or both. Our families and friends still rave about our wedding and the fantastic time they had. 128 South was even better than we imagined and it was a beautiful location to start Day One of the Rest of Our Lives.

The staff was responsive, insightful, professional, and most importantly, kind. The food was also fantastic and presented nicely. Something else, important to us, was the ability to customize our event. All of this, of course, at the direction of our coordinator, Jordan Miller. Hats off to her, she's great. I planned the wedding from out of town, and yet it seemed so effortless thanks to Chere and her team! They were so easy to work with and always responded to my countless calls and emails very quickly. I changed my mind on details several times, and they always made it easy and even provided me with great alternatives. The venue itself is gorgeous, the food was delicious, and everyone working there was so nice and helpful! It was a great night and we were able to enjoy every second of it without stress because we knew Chere and the team had everything covered. I highly recommend 128 South!

128 South was the first and only venue I looked at â I fell in love the moment I walked in! The beautiful stained glass and exposed brick has so much character! The deck overlooks the Cape Fear River and has great sunset views. We had our ceremony and reception at 128 South and it was absolutely perfect! We had our ceremony and cocktail house outside on the deck (donât worry, there is a tent included if it rains), dinner inside and we went back outside for dancing. I planned my wedding from out of town and the entire staff at 128 South was amazing. Meg was my day of coordinator and she was awesome!!! She was always available for any crazy bride questions I had. We had our dĂ©cor meeting over the phone and she executed my entire vision flawlessly. 128 South not only has an amazing venue, but they also have an in-house cater and the food was delicious! It has been a month since our wedding and our entire guests are still raving about the food, the venue and decorations. Thank you for making our wedding day the perfect day I have always dreamed about! ï

While planning a winter wedding and out of town I really had to do a ton of research to find the best place that offered everything I wanted. The first day I went there I fell in love with the place. The deck views overlooking the Cape Fear River and the history of the beautiful building had me smiling. JJ was so great to really go over the details and work with us explaining everything to us that we walked away knowing this was it. He turned us over to Katherine who was absolutely amazing! She was who I dealt with for all of my planning, from emails, to calls to dealing with my vendors she was awesome! I don't know what I would have done without her. She kept my mind at ease and everything on schedule. The compliments I received from the venue to the staff at the wedding made my heart so happy that they felt the way I did about 128 South. We used 128 South as the site for the Rehearsal Dinner. We could not have been more pleased with everything. We had a family style dinner for almost 40 guests in the downstairs area serving Rosemary Pork and Seared Salmon. The food was perfect and more than enough for the guests. The staff could not have been better and timed all of the food around our schedule of toasting the couple and gift giving. We had an open bar downstairs for the dinner. We then had cocktails, desserts and appetizers on the deck for the second 2 hours for any out of town guests who arrived. This was suggested by JJ and worked out perfectly! The venue was beautiful, the staff absolutely attentive and the food delicious. All of the guests complimented the whole evening and loved the idea of the cocktail party. The wedding and reception were held at Bakery 105 the next day. Wilmington was a destination wedding and using both venues provided an exceptional feel to the historic area and allowed all of the guests to not have to travel far for anything. There was not one thing that went wrong and I would highly recommend these venues to anyone.

This venue was better than we could have ever imagined. We used Katherine for our day of coordinator and she was the best decision we have ever made. Our day was flawless! There was not one thing I would have changed. From the layout, decorations, food choice and beverage selection - this facility has it all. It is 2+ weeks after the wedding and we STILL cannot stop talking about it. We have received nothing but compliments! They took all the worry from my mind and put me at ease with every phone call and email. This venue was better than we could have ever imagined. We used Katherine for our day of coordinator and she was the best decision we have ever made. Our day was flawless! There was not one thing I would have changed. From the layout, decorations, food choice and beverage selection - this facility has it all. It is 2+ weeks after the wedding and we STILL cannot stop talking about it. We have received nothing but compliments! They took all the worry from my mind and put me at ease with every phone call and email. We can't say enough great things about 128 South Events and their staff. From the time that we booked our wedding to our wedding day they were extremely helpful and wonderful to work with. Having to plan our wedding from out of state presented some unique circumstances, but their experience and professionalism made everything easy and seamless!

This was the second of our three daughters getting married in just over 8 months. Leslie, our oldest daughter was married at 128 on Saturday, August 15, 2015. 128 South was absolutely perfect in every way. The ceremony on the deck at 6 was gorgeous and the staff did a remarkable job getting that area transformed into a dance floor for after dinner and setting up additional tables for dinner guests. The facility there is just beautiful and the staff has been extremely helpful from the first minute we made contact with them right up until it was lights out Saturday night. The kitchen staff did a wonderful job with the food, it was delicious and we cannot say enough about or Day Of Coordinator, Chere. She was always available and eager to help and do anything we needed or asked to make this day special. We could not have asked for more in a venue. This charming hidden spot in downtown Wilmington, NC offers more than a unique brick building but overlooks the riverwalk, allows for both inside and outside events, and alleys that prompt great photos! Aside from the beautiful venue, we were ecstatic to work with their staff. They were a well-oiled machine that took the worry and stress away. They have great contacts and are willing to do much of the logistics for you if you'll help with brainstorming (the fun part!). I would not have traded the planning experience with them or the day of experience with them for anything. Our guests have not stopped talking about the beautiful venue and experience.

I just had my wedding here last week and it was the most wonderful experience ever! Everyone goes above and beyond to help you with anything you need. They are on top of their game every step of the way. The service, food.....everything is spectacular!!! I couldn't have gotten any luckier finding this place in Wilmington. It's such a beautiful, intimate setting inside and outside on the deck is gorgeous and spacious. Chere' was my wedding coordinator, not only is she a doll but she is fabulous at what she does. She took care of everything and always responded back to my calls/emails promptly. My wedding was a dream come true and they made everything so easy. There's no place better to have your event!
