1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa Reviews
Shiloh Walen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-02-2020 We were married Feb 29, 2020. We held a wedding weekend at Lake Lure, and mostly bought the place out. Our unique request was to hold the ceremony on the terrace, reception in the dining room and dinner in the lobby. Our designer, Carmela Occasions & Creations transformed the hotel to our own personal wonderland. My brother built a moon gate inspired by Bermuda and it was all stunning. The team at the hotel are hospitality professionals, well experienced and able to deliver a beautiful wedding. I'm a group sales manager at a 4 star resort and this team did exceptional in my option. This hotel is a jewel in the mountains. We finished our weekend with our friends and family enjoying the Sunday brunch before leaving. I don't recommend the spa for wedding hair and would recommend going to a salon as I felt a bit rushed as the bride as my vision was not understood and met with frustration. Overall, we loved the weekend. A quick run down of our weekend: Thurs: casual meet and greet in the bar. Friday: welcome smores by the pool Saturday: Wedding and party Sunday: Farewell brunch ... all the best in your wedding planning! Reviewed on 05-05-2021

The first floor is quite beautiful full of antiques from 1927 with information about them. The rooms were however a complete letdown. Extremely small, \"queen\" bed the size of a full and if you're traveling with someone who's a bigger guy, he won't fit comfortably. Try finding an outlet, very small bedroom, large stain on the sofa (over a foot long), furniture that was so worn (chipped, veneer peeling/worn out through stain) that I could have found furniture in better shape in Goodwill. The first room could not accommodate someone who needed a medical device so we tried a second room. That room was even smaller and smelled like musty vomit. The third room was slightly better but anything that we brought home that we used, and I mean everything, needed to be throughly washed to remove the musty smell. Window air conditioners were loud, pool was not heated but they do state that on their website.I understand that this is an old building but the owner seems to have not done any updating or even a good job of fixing areas of the plaster areas where anything newer had been added. The rooms were just very poorly outfitted and any updates were also poorly done (think plaster ceilings that were just slapped with some plaster and not artistically done to match the original). It was somewhat difficult to find two places to set our suitcases on without using the bed.Continental breakfast consisted of Eggo-like premade waffles that couldn't be heated in either of the two non-working toasters, small containers of cereals, packages of oatmeal, bagels and small packaged muffins. Canned juice and coffee were available.Overall it was a very unsatisfactory experience. The hotel clerks were very nice though and the linens were clean but why didn't the person making the bed also pick up the dirty towels which were just left on the floor.Doors and walls are extremely thin so you get to hear everyone coming and going.I don't know how this managed to get 4 stars from anyone but I would encourage anyone thinking of staying here to look elsewhere. It was a very disappointing place to spend $$$ for a vacation Reviewed on 07-10-2023
Megan Hathcock(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-04-2022 Luckily our day was amazing because of family and friends, but the vendor was less than desired to say the least. Such a long list of things we were told that did not happen and the lack of communication was inexcusable. I would not recommend the Lake Lure Inn to anyone for their wedding venue. There are other places in Lake Lure to celebrate your special day! Reviewed on 11-05-2022
Keri Gingerich(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2021 Back in 2020, my husband and I got engaged at the Flower Bridge there next to the resort in Lake Lure. Immediately we both knew that we wanted to get married in the small, beautiful town. Our first and only tour we took of 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa sealed the deal, and we decided on 10/29 of the following year to get married. Heather, our venue coordinator with the hotel, was great with her service, her care, and communication. It was hands down one of the best nights of our lives, and even with the rain forecasted, everything was beautiful. Reviewed on 11-11-2021

Jolie McKay(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-08-2020 We loved having our ceremony and reception at The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and can't recommend it enough!! We fell in love with the beautiful and romantic setting as soon as we arrived for our first site visit. We live in NYC and have family and friends spread out across the Midwest and East Coast, and for several reasons decided to have a \"destination\" wedding. We wanted to find somewhere all of our guests could stay and have a fun and relaxing weekend getaway without totally breaking the bank. This fit the bill (literally and figuratively) and the actual event turned out even better than we could have ever dreamed. Patrick gave us our first tour and became our main point of contact throughout the entire process. Thank goodness for Patrick - I can't say enough good things about him!! He was such a joy to work with throughout -- especially considering we were dealing with all of the unknowns around covid. Our original date was in May and we moved it to August - even then we were very uncertain whether we would be able to have the wedding until a few weeks before. Once we decided to move forward our guest list went from 120 people to 40 people. Patrick was so helpful and flexible throughout, which reduced the stress and worry! While we are talking about Patrick, I should also mention that all of our guests and vendors raved about him. From coordinating with our vendors to making sure our guests were happy with their rooms, Patrick was on it!I could go on, but the bottom line is from food and accommodations, to the staff and setting, everything was perfect for us and our guests. We can't wait to return and celebrate anniversaries! Reviewed on 24-11-2020
Marshall & Bryan Anders-Varner(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-08-2019 Looking for a wedding venue is by far one of the most stressful aspects of planning a wedding and we toured several before we finally decided to visit the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we had discovered something special. After taking a tour of the Inn we sat down with Patrick to go through how we envisioned our big day. Patrick put together a detailed proposal outlining everything for us and then arranged for us to come back a week later to tour Haynes Hill Estate. We had absolutely no idea how breath taking this spot was. Nestled in the trees looking over the Inn and Lake Lure with a view all the way up the gorge we had found our dream ceremony location. Patrick was by our side throughout the entire planning process and ensured every detail was perfect. Heās like a magician - you say his name or even think about him and he appears, usually with the perfect solution, and always with a little hop and big smile! Patrick, Alyssa, Aaron, Margaret (who also made our delicious wedding cake) and their team are without a doubt one of the most talented in the business. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful, the staff was friendly and welcoming; even the owners of the Inn & Estate stepped in to assist on our wedding day when a random afternoon shower required us to move all our guests up to their patio until the rain passed. They were out there with the rest of the team wiping down seats and getting things cleaned up so we could proceed with our ceremony. We could not have asked for more from this team and could not imagine a more perfect day! Thank you to our new Lake Lure family, we canāt wait to visit with you again soon! Reviewed on 14-01-2020
Lacie Byers(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-11-2019 I held my wedding here in a November 2019. The day of the wedding went well (some minor hiccups with things like rude staff at check-in desk that refuses to direct our guests to the ceremony site, bartenders being unfriendly, etc. - but nothing that would truly impact the day) The next day we hold a brunch for the guests and everyone heads home. My husband and I board our flight for the honeymoon that evening and while we are in flight we get an email from one of the venue coordinators stating that some accounting errors were made on their side and we now owe an additional balance of almost $2,000! This is after we had already paid our āfinal balance.ā My credit card is immediately charged after he sends the email (while Iām in flight on way to my honeymoon) with no phone call explanation as to what happened. We continue to attempt to contact Lake Lure and none of the event staff will return our calls or emails (we called almost daily for a month and our calls/voicemails were ignored). This was extremely frustrating because all we wanted was an explanation as to what happened and why this extra charge wasnāt discussed or included at the beginning of us establishing a contract months earlier. To top it off - some of our guests got charged for eating dinner at the wedding!!! Overall, I would NEVER recommend this venue - even for the most low-key bride - unless you want a bunch of unexpected surprises. Reviewed on 09-01-2020
Julie Pechanek(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-10-2019 The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa is magical! We visited 15 venues across western North Carolina when we first starting wedding planning, and the Lake Lure Inn has something other venues do not - charm. All the antiques and music boxes in the inn make the place feel so unique. There are stunning views of the mountains and lake from the hotel rooms, the veranda for cocktail hour/brunch, and the ceremony site in the meadows. We loved how our wedding guests could stay at the inn, the lake/park is within walking distance, restaurants and downtown Chimney Rock is nearby, I could go on & on - there is so much to do in the area! Patrick managed our event at the inn and made sure that everything went perfectly! He did such a great job and we are so thankful for everything he did to make sure our big day went smoothly - all the meetings, e-mails, and little details! He really cared about making sure we were happy on our wedding day. Everything was absolutely wonderful, and I highly recommend this wedding venue/hotel!!! Reviewed on 17-12-2019

Kelsey Parker(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2019 The Lake Lure Inn was a picturesque venue and suited my husband and I perfectly! His family has lots of history and Lake Lure and it's also where we fell in love in the summers and got engaged in 2018! The reception, ceremony gazebo space, options for food, and special touches made for a great day. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is a couple of our requests were not correct the day of the wedding. We had asked for a specific table set up in the garden that had to get changed at the last minute because it had not been set up according to our latest layout. Also our vegetarian option (the only thing I could eat) was incorrect. I had specifically asked for eggplant parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, and sliced chicken on the side for meat eaters. The day of apparently the chef decided to make an entirely different vegetarian dish and we had no eggplant parmesan and no pasta. They were minor details but were specific things that we asked for that simply got ignored. Other than that, id definitely recommend this venue to future brides and grooms! Reviewed on 23-10-2019

They provide a list of reccomend vendors, which we used, and had an amazing experience with all of them. Their food is so tasty and we loved the huge selection they had to offer. Patrick, Alyssa, and their staff are beyond awesome and will treat you like GOLD! I enjoyed working with them to make our dream come true and plan on visiting often. We were able to get to know Allyssa, Patrick, and Aaron throughout all the planning and prepping. They all were personable, professional, and knowledgable. We got married in the gardens area and had the reception in the Roosevelt hall. It was perfect for our smaller wedding! The only tip I can give is to try and ensure you are the only wedding that day. We were one of 2 weddings that day, both around the same time. It made it more confusing for the guests when they first arrived and where to go after the ceremony. Other than that, it was perfect! Allyssa was exceptional and made us feel comfortable through the entire process. It even rained on our wedding day and she still made sure things ran smoothly . She was always reachable and always emailed us back very timely. Mostly everything is included within their package, except for the photographer and DJ, which also helped make the process very easy. Our event coordinator (Patrick) took care of every little detail to ensure our big day was everything we imagined. My wife and I chose this venue because of the many services they offer to guests. The food is expertly prepared in-house while still offering a broad selection of dishes to choose from. The gazebo venue option is among the most beautiful locations in the south with the capacity for larger crowds. The staff at the Inn took care of all set up and take down of their own chairs, linens, tables and tableware so we could enjoy ourselves more and was much appreciated. Jordan Bagwell(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-10-2018 My wife and I went with the Lake Lure Inn for our wedding venue. I have never been so impressed with the beauty, stunning, amazing, and impressive atmosphere at the Inn. While booking, we arrive at the Lake Lure Inn and saw the beautiful venue, that not only was charming, but had a rich historical atmosphere as well. We were greeted immediately, followed by a staff that was eager to help in anyway possible. We were given a tour of the hotel, and all the other spots they rent for the ceremony. The initial visit was so impressive, we booked right away. The Inn wedding councilors were not pushy, and laid out packets which included EVERYTHING! That is one reason why we chose The Lake Lure Inn. Aside from flowers (which indulged in the elegance of the Inn, but were not even needed!), photographer, and cake, the Inn is equipped with everything you need. After our initial visit we booked, ane returned again after deciding on what we wanted, and were greeted with the same hospitality. It was truly as if the staff, were there not only to book your wedding, but to be as friendly as possible. We stayed in contact throughout the entire year, from booking to our big day. Even if it was late at night, our wedding planner from the Inn would answer our questions, which shows such a desire to help us. I honestly would rate the staff as being more professional, helpful, and nicer then that of chick-fil-a!!! The only thing other than cake, flowers, and photographer, that we needed for the venue was just a few decorations (that was not even needed). I was impressed by the set up of every spot, and the willingness to help by every Inn employee. They even took the time to help outside vendors to ensure nothing was wrong the day of our wedding. Not only was our wedding day a breeze, it was enjoyable because of the Inn staff. I can not speak highly enough of this venue and especially the Staff. I felt as if we didnāt do enough for them! The pictures were amazing because of the spot! People still even talk about how amazing the foot at our reciption was, which was prepared hot by the Inn. Everything food related, that the Inn does is wonderful. I wish I could rate this venue 10 out of 5 honestly. My wife and I booked with Patrick, who made us feel that we are now a part of the history at the Inn. Anything we needed, while setting up Patrick would ask and honestly be back with it in the blink of an eye. It was if he was on call and by our side the entire weekend. We were not worried about a thing, knowing Patrick was our planner and there with us. Patrick Bryant was honestly one of the biggest efforts of help during our wedding. He had everything we had planned, schedules, and list that he helped manage as well. I loved our wedding at the Lake Lure Inn, and it was unforgettable. The comments by our guest, the pictures, and the fun at our wedding was unbelievable. Our guest enjoyed every part of it, and still talk about it. It truly is an amazing place and we loved every part of our wedding at the Lake Lure Inn. I would book here every time and be a part of history, at such an amazing place. Reviewed on 15-11-2018

I should start at the beginning. Allyssa is amazing! We couldn't have asked for anyone better! She was always available to answer any question we had. Our guest count literally doubled and she handled it like it was no big deal. She was a lot of fun during our tasting and planning session and was also very knowledgeable about what would be good for our wedding. Now the wedding itself was amazing! Every single person on the staff was incredibly nice, mind blowing nice! They were always there to help and always kept my drink full! They helped us with whatever setting up we had and requests on the day of the wedding. The hotel itself is really great and only adds to however you decide to decorate. We worked with Allyssa a ton leading up to the big day and were able to really customize our wedding to be exactly how we wanted, not based on a set package... and the event team did everything to make it such a perfect experience!! Our Friday night welcome bonfire got rained out, but the Inn had an awesome backup plan indoors that had our friends surrounding a delicious chocolate fountain and dancing the night away instead! We had a larger wedding (130) for the venue and they were super accommodating about holding nearly every room in our room block for over a year too - and it was so much fun to have all of our guests in one place all weekend long! Whitney Kerr(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-06-2018 If you are thinking about having your wedding at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa, do it. I highly recommend. My Sweetheart and I were married June 9 of this year and I've been trying to write this review ever since. I just don't have the words to express how wonderful everything was-- all thanks to Allyssa, the events manager, and the entire wonderful staff at the Inn. Allyssa and I emailed back and forth for months before we ever actually met and she is very responsive and efficient. Once I met her in person, I added personable to that list. Planning a wedding is a lot of work and a lot of stress. I don't know how Allyssa does it, but she somehow manages to seem easy going when I know she is working her tail off. She was there for me anytime I had questions, needed guidance, needed reassurance, needed to vent, etc. I can't imagine how many brides she is working with to create each one's perfect event-- let alone the counselling we need!-- but she always made me feel like I was the only one.We started the weekend with a small rehearsal dinner by the lake followed by a bonfire with s'mores open to all who made a weekend out of the affair. Right away, Vinny, one of the bartenders, greeted me with a Miller Lite (my drink of choice)-- good prep work Allyssa! This set the tone for the entire weekend. I know there were so many parts in motion, but this crew knows their business and works together to make it seamless. When Allyssa found out my BFFs were going to surprise me with a shower the morning of the wedding, she miraculously intercepted about 20 women from crashing our cabin and opened up Founder's Hall for us. (Seriously, thank you Allyssa!) The ceremony was at the park around the corner with the gazebo and the trolley shuttled everyone back and forth in style. Anything we wanted, they made it happen. My hair and make-up plan fell through at the last minute and Britney at Irongate Spa was at the ready and fantastic. Seriously-- Britney used some industrial strength make-up that withstood the heat, tears and lots of sweat. It aint pretty, but I'm a head and face sweat-er and by the end of the night (and boy howdy I stretched it out), my make-up had only faded around the edges of my hairline. Britney, what is that stuff?!? We hit The Moose and Goose both Friday and Saturday nights-- our friends were very impressed by their bourbon selection! The food was delicious-- I wish I could have that pecan fried chicken on a regular basis! Our Morkie dog was the only member of the wedding party and he ruled over the reception like a boss. Photo op on the piano? No problem! We had a band on the veranda and danced, danced, danced. And here's Vinny again, arm outstretched with Miller Lite! Sunday, many of us stayed for the brunch-- I'll be daggoned, there's Vinny again, this time as a server. He was just the person I bonded with (a constant stream of Miller Lite has that effect), but we saw the same faces working hard every day and they even made it look like they were having fun!I chose to have my wedding at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa sight unseen. I had never even been to Lake Lure! I live in Charleston, SC and it has become a wedding destination for brides all over the world. I get it, it is beautiful in Charleston, but I could not figure out a way to have the kind of wedding I wanted at a price we could afford to pay for the wedding or that my guests could afford to come for the weekend. I had the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa on a list I keep for trip ideas and when my ideas for Charleston ran dry, I consulted this list. My favorite weddings are destination weddings where all the guests are in the same space for a period of time and they get to know each other whether they want to or not! In the end, this is exactly what I got. Because the Inn was able to host the rehearsal dinner, after party gatherings at The Moose and Goose, spa on site, restaurant on site, it was a constant interaction with my guests and it was perfect. All of our friends and family really had a great time and I think all will remember it as a wonderful, fun event full of love. It was perfect and exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa! Reviewed on 14-09-2018

The whole entire staff was, so much so that our guests noticed and were highly impressed with the service provided. We literally didn't have to worry about one thing. All of the staff greeted us with such kindness time and again.....the Front Desk at all hours, the Bartenders at all hours, Maintenance when we had a dead car battery, the Servers no matter how many guests, the Trolley Driver on time, every time and Housekeeping for any and every need. The staff at the Inn truly went above and beyond repeatedly for us and our guests.Leigh maintained excellent communication with us from day one to the day of and days after. Allison Shaw(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 My husband and I were just married at Lake Lure Inn and I couldn't have been happier. From our first meeting and tour with Leigh, we were very excited and felt comfortable with not only the venue but the entire staff we would be working with. They give you the contract up front as well as ample time to ask questions before signing. My wedding coordinator Allyssa was great, for the next 10 months, she kept in touch in a non-pressuring manner, answered my questions in a timely fashion (even the silly ones), and made good recommendations when I simply needed someone's opinion. I am not local to Lake Lure, so I depended strongly on her advice and I'm so glad I did so. When it came time for our actual wedding weekend, the entire hotel staff (not just Allyssa and Leigh) were accommodating and pleasant. One of the best things about this venue is that on the day of, there is a trolley that takes you and your guests from the hotel over to gazebo on the lake which is where our ceremony is, and then takes everyone back again. Then you have the reception right there and then your guests just have to walk back to their rooms so no one has to worry about driving. If you weren't ready to go to bed just yet, while the reception ended around 10 PM, the Moose and Goose Lounge served as an excellent after hours spot until bed time was inevitable. I think the second best thing was both the gazebo for the ceremony and the hotel for the reception was beautiful as is, and didn't need further decorations. Another great thing about the Lake Lure Inn and really the town of Lake Lure/Chimney Rock, is that since many of our guests were coming in from quite a distance it was quite simple to help turn it into a destination weekend for most folks. The hotel staff helped arrange boat tours/golf outings and there was so much to do in the area such as Chimney Rock state park, miniature golf, and local restaurants/shops. Since this my only experience planning a wedding, I can't really compare it to another, however I can speak to how easy the ladies at the Inn made it for me to plan and coordinate the wedding (I did have a day of wedding planner that was absolutely fantastic and in my opinion absolutely essential), helped me make exciting to look forward to and then when it was actually happening, I don't think there was a single mishap and my guests are still telling me what fun they had. I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the staff. From the first tour we received until after checkout from the wedding weekend, we were thoroughly impressed with the prompt communication, willingness to help, and overall attention to detail the Inn was able to provide. This was strongly due to the fantastic work of our venue coordinator, Leigh Vayo. If you have the opportunity to work with her for your wedding, you will be very lucky. She is so incredibly kind and no detail is too small, nor any question an imposition. Since we were planning a destination wedding, a lot of the footwork had to be done via email and phone conversations and she was with us every step of the way. Even on the eve of our wedding, as I was rushing around attending to family, I could trust her with any last minute changes and have no doubt that everything would be taken care of with the utmost attention. After the wedding I can not count how many times my guests commended the Inn's staff as being friendly and courteous and how much they loved all the Inn's decor. They also did an amazing job with the food. We had the Inn cater both the rehearsal dinner and reception and everything tasted absolutely amazing! Everyone was very satisfied with their meals and the Inn was even able to provide snacks for our after reception party. Throughout the planning and execution of our event, we worked with Leigh Vayo, who is by far one of the sweetest, most thoughtful people I have ever met. Leigh was always quick to respond to any of our questions and went above and beyond to accommodate our two flower puppies, families, guests, and other vendors. We had a bonfire on the beach for our rehearsal dinner and it was exactly the kind of relaxed event we were hoping for. Our wedding ceremony the following day was at the Morse Park Gazebo with our reception in the lobby, Tanner Dining Room, Veranda, and poolside. Leigh and the team at The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa handled EVERYTHING! They brought our wedding parties brunch while we were hanging out and getting ready, they greeted each of our vendors and assisted them any way they could, they handled all set up and break down of our wedding, they coordinated each event with our wedding planner, and the food was out of this world amazing! Allie Hahn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2017 The Lake Lure Inn and Spa was absolutely the perfect site for our May 28, 2017 wedding. Everything was perfect and it truly was because of the Inn's accommodations and staff. First of all, Leigh Vayo was our on-site coordinator and she was incredible from beginning to end. Especially in the few weeks before the wedding, she was so detail-oriented and responsive. I believe these details are the reason that everything went so well. On the actual wedding weekend, I never saw her sit down! She is so hardworking and genuinely wanted everything to be perfect for us. She is incredibly kind and a joy to work with. We used the Inn for basically everything! On our first day, we did our rehearsal in Roosevelt Hall, rehearsal dinner in the new Fitzgerald's restaurant space, and then ended with a very fun bonfire on the beach. Then, on the day of the wedding, we got ready in Johnny's cabin and the Inn arranged food to be delivered for us. We then took first look pictures around the pool before getting in the convenient and cute trolley to head to the ceremony. The ceremony was in Morse Park facing Chimney Rock (not under the Gazebo, too tough to decorate!). The weather held out and the location was perfect. We then headed back for the reception! We decided to be announced and do all dances/speeches on the far side of the pool. It was just perfect. All of our friends and family had enjoyed appetizers and drink by this point, and there were many vantage points for the dances/speeches. After this, it was dinner time! We did the buffet and everyone loved the food. Then the dance floor opened on the Veranda after a few tables were taken away - so much fun! People could enjoy dancing or hang out around the pool area on the low or high top tables. It was all so perfect.Thank you Leigh and all of the LLI staff for making our dream wedding a reality. Chelsea Jones(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2017 The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa was our chosen wedding ceremony and reception venue from the moment we stepped in it for our tour. My (now) husband and I grew up going to Lake Lure and the area, but had never stepped in this gem. We actually had looked at a few venues and thought we had found \"the one,\" until we had a feeling that the real one was still out there. Stumbling across the fact that the Inn hosts weddings, we made a tour and from then on, the rest is history. We worked with Leigh, Allyssa and Patrick, all coordinators of weddings and events at the Inn to bring our wedding needs, wants and wishes to life. They were all incredibly attentive and helpful during the entire process which at times, is incredibly stressful, but only to the newlyweds to be. They are experienced and professional and handle all your needs with ease. Allyssa in particular was our coordinator and was easily reached via phone or email for my many questions and plan details. The wedding day and weekend left us absolutely blown away by their work to ensure us an amazing wedding. That is when you see the true heart of the entire staff there. Every single person of the Inn was so kind and helpful. Before even knowing I was a bride, as I'm just walking in and around with normal things on, not yet attached to any coordinators, I always received superior treatment. My family and wedding party and guests commented the entire time how nice everyone was. To have a setting as beautiful as the Inn and the gazebo and veranda and poolside for your wedding makes you especially lucky, but to add to that, people who make your big day easy and even better than the scenery, is a blessing. This review is entirely true. My husband and I talked that entire wedding weekend and days after about how great they were. We appreciate having them be so good to us, it meant a lot! On Friday we were supposed to have an outdoor meal and bonfire but the rain kept us in. The Inn accommodated us in Roosevelt hall and set up and indoor smoores bar. It worked out great! On Saturday we had our ceremony at the gazebo. The trolley ride to and from the site was great and the inn set up flavored water at the site for our guests which was a nice touch. Everything about our reception was perfect and as I had visioned it. The credit goes to our events coordinator Allyssa and her staff. They were so great to work with. Words cannot describe how thankful we are that we had her there to help us during the planning stage and on the wedding day. She is truly a joy to work with! We were between two venues, the Inn being one of them. The other place did not offer an events coordinator. The friendliness and location that the Inn provided during our venue search were ultimately the reasons we picked the Inn. It is convenient for guests and the wedding party. As a fan of historic architecture, they intrigued me early in my planning process to drive into the mountains and check out what they had to offer. When I arrived, I realized that not only did the building fit my taste, but their options for ceremony spaces were spectacular! We chose to get married at the gazebo in Morse Park. The background to our ceremony was granite-faced mountains and beautiful fall foliage against the lake. Leigh was our event coordinator and she made sure our experience at the Inn was everything we were hoping and more! She even gave us extras free of charge which every bride knows is almost unheard of with wedding vendors. \r\rWhen our wedding arrived, we realized we had forgotten a few things we needed to put our DIY stuff together. Heather Husband(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-06-2015 We had two wonderful, family filled nights at the Inn. We did a bonfire and dinner on Thursday night and our wedding and reception on Friday. The bonfire was perfect as most of our guests were coming in from out of town and this allowed everyone to interact and get comfortable with everyone before the reception. The weather was perfect, the food delicious, and the open bar is always a hit! We had about 45 people there and loved every minute of it. \r\rOn Friday we had our ceremony scheduled for the Gardens area, but unfortunately it rained so we moved with the covered patio, and couldn't have asked for a better spot. Our first look also got moved from the iron gate to the Moose and Goose Lounge and it was perfect because we may have indulged a little bit there over the weekend. \r\rAfter the ceremony we moved to Roosevelt Hall for our reception, which was a blast! We had about 60 people and the space was just right, intimate without being right on top of each other. \r\rOur wedding coordinator Patrick was amazing, I could never thank him enough for all he did for us and our guests. He was there every step of the way from tastings, to my nitty-gritty details. He was even running beverages from the cooler to our reception when they were running low. He also hoarded my favorite beverages for me during the night since there was only a select few available. He was there through it all with us, and I could not recommend him enough to anyone who wants to get married here. And overall, the staff was amazing. So nice and my guests didn't have one negative thing to say, and they're quite opinionated. \r\rAnother plus, our families, being from upstate NY, found things to do that interested them around the Inn. People took boat tours, rented pontoon boats, went to the beach, hiked, explored Asheville, etc. That made it a weekend getaway for everyone so they didn't have to just come for the day. We now live in Charlotte, and going out to the Inn felt like we were driving to the Adirondack Mountains like we use to do as kids. Perfection is their goal and they really do come close!!! Reviewed on 04-11-2012
Celeste Greer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2012 The service here was amazing! They were helpful in all aspects of the wedding. Before, they helped me plan and assisted me in what I needed to do next, since I wasn't very sure. The day of the wedding I could not have asked for anything better. I was able to enjoy my day and let the Inn take care of the rest. I highly recommend this location as it was the best day of my life and I have no regrets. All of the guests have bragged on how amazing and how beautiful it was. Allyssa, the wedding coordinator could not have been a better, more patient person to work with brides! I am so thankful to them, my other vendors and to God that this day was as perfect as it was! Reviewed on 23-10-2012

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The scenery is gorgeous. All of our guests were from out of town so it was nice to have everyone stay there and all of the events take place there. Stephanie Devine(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-07-2012 Our family and friends had an amazing time at our wedding at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn. Paula was our event coordinator and fielded probably 100 different planning emails from me, my mother and mother-in-law in the 5 months leading up to our event. Even though our bonfire got rained out, they quickly worked in a back up location and our out of town guests (about 75) had an amazing time at dinner the night before in Roosevelt Hall and the Moose and Goose lounge. They worked with our coordinator to change our plans for rain the day of, but we still got amazing mountain views from the terrace and they basically rearranged and removed a ton of furniture from the lobby so that we could have our cocktail hour and bar inside. It was so much fun and we were so happy to be able to provide our 110 guests with a 3 course meal and open bar for less than 10k. Our guests from Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Massachusetts, Ohio, and, of course, North Carolina, loved the venue. Everyone stayed on site and the room discount made it affordable. The dining room and lobby and the natural scenery behind the poolside are already so beautiful, you hardly have to do anything to make it look great. And the food both nights was excellent. A lot of friends said it was the nicest wedding they've been to and considering our budget, that just blew me away. It's a truly unique space in a beautiful area. The perfect spot for a wedding. \r\rI would have given it 5 stars, but to be fair to other brides I do want to mention a few snafus: \r1) the tuna we got at dinner was not the ahi tuna we tasted (we were served well done tuna steaks). it was still pretty good but not really what we were expecting. i think there's been a shortage of ahi lately, but would have liked to know. \r2) the wait staff had a little too much fun at our reception and kicked out a window in the dining room/wore some of the glow necklaces/glasses we purchased for our guests. not a big deal, but depending on how formal you want your event it's something to think about. \r3) we had crashers! they were promptly kicked out but watch yourself, it was easy for them to just walk into the wedding from the hotel lobby. Valerie Goldston(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-03-2012 The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa stole my heart the moment that the doorman greeted us in his tuxedo. This venue is decorated in the most beautiful decor from the time the Inn opened in 1927. I was truly mesmerized by the antique chandelier and the decor. However, it was the staff that blew me away with their professional and calm demeanor. They simply stated, \"Anything that you want, we will make happen,\" and they meant it. The staff at the Lake Lure Inn and Spa is accommodating, kind, easy to work with and creative. Down to the very last detail, they were able to make my dream wedding happen and on a budget. To top it all off, their food is absolutely delicious. I will go back for their Sunday brunch when I return to the area. If I could do it all again, I would choose the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa all over again! Reviewed on 26-03-2012

Paula was the Event Coordinator that helped me, and she was more organized than me and helped so much! We met together a few times before the big day, settled on the menu, and on the big day everything went off just great... the best part was I didn't have to spend a minute of my time answering any questions! It was truly wonderful, and I know the Inn made the difference! The whole staff was really friendly and helpful during the whole weekend and reception as well!\rI would definitely recommend this little jewel to others. Legenia Moore(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-11-2009 Okay where do I start. My husband and I just recently got married at 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa on 9/23/11. The staff and this venue is FANTASTIC!! Everyone was very friendly. Patrick Bryant was our event manager for our wedding and he was truly AMAZING!! There isn't enough great things I can honestly say about this venue. I had been searching for the perfect venue for about a year. This venue had always been on the top of my list because it is where the popular movie \"Dirty Dancing\" was filmed. The Lake Lure Inn and Spa team hold high standards and it shows because they treat their brides like stars and give them FIRST priority. I was really worried because their was another wedding going on the same day as mine. However, I NEVER even saw the other bride. Mr. Patrick Bryant was super busy that day and he managed to make me feel like my wedding was his first priority. WoW! I talked to a bridesmaid yesterday and she told me that she was still thinking about my wedding at the Inn and Spa. Now that says something. My guests made comments that the turkey was so tender and the broccoli casserole is to die for it was DELICIOUS. The staff during dinner was amazing as well, they congratulated the groom and I, and truly made me feel like they were there to make sure we had a super time. THANK YOU to the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa. I can't thank you guys enough. I told Patrick that the groom and I can't wait to plan our 5 year anniversary there. You guys are becoming so popular we should go ahead and probably book you guys now huh LOL. \r\rOh yea and the Inn also done my makeup. Which looked flawless. The makeup artist is originally from California and I told her I wanted smoky eyes and sex appeal and that is what she did. I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing. Absolutely Phenomenal!! \r\rIf anyone wants to see some photos taken at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa the minister posted wedding photos on face book. Just click on the link below. My husband and I had an intimate wedding and got married in the Gardens Venue. However, the Inn has several other venues for larger weddings. \r\r http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.275224349163631.72317.120405847978816&l=18f6e0c2bf&type=1\r\r Reviewed on 08-10-2011

Kenya Hoffart(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-12-2004 My husband I married in December 2004. Our ceremony was at a local church and then we, along with 125 of our closest friends and relatives, made the short trip to the Lake Lure Inn for our reception. We had a great evening and our experience with the Lake Lure Inn was just wonderful. I actually worked at the Inn several years back and started my love affair for the facility then. It's a great place for a wedding and/or wedding reception. It has a beautiful elegance and an inviting feel. It also has a lovely history for those who are interested in learning about it's charm and grace. Years later, I look back at my wedding reception with great fondess. The dinner, the dancing, the staff, the decor - everything made for a perfect ending to our perfect day. And though I am originally from the Lake Lure area, when I planned my wedding I lived several hours away and had ever confidence in planning my destination wedding because I knew I was working with a competent and reliable staff who was willing to answer any questions and accomodate every wish.
