We had the most wonderful wedding here on 9/10! It was the perfect blend of a few classic traditions and a laid back space that all of our guests raved about. Dan was great to work with from the start, and helped day-of to make sure our event ran smoothly. He and all the awesome staff nailed the small details and great service. We chose one of the cocktail style menus and the food was delicious, plus all of the Colorado beers and spirits were a hit with guests. If you're looking for a versatile and really reasonably priced venue, I would highly recommend choosing 2 Penguins. Reviewed on 24-09-2023

Two Penguins is exactly the venue you need if you want a laid back and unconventional wedding. Dan did a great job helping us with the planning leading up to the day, and also helped quarterback quite a bit of the event on the day of. Even through a hail storm that quashed our outdoor ceremony, he remained flexible and aided in shifting gears to an indoor ceremony. Their team did a great job of serving, bartending, and looking after the event. If your are the type of couple looking for a laid back, unique wedding free of any hoity-toity white glove staleness, I would 100% recommend Two Penguins as your venue! -Pete & Jessie Reviewed on 18-08-2023

Hopefully, this review does not get taken down as multiple other ones have been. Quite a shady act to be honest. For full details on the event and actions causing this review please refer to Kelsie Soto's review on 9/26/2022. I do not like writing reviews like this, but what occurred this night and the reaction from the venue since have been unacceptable. DO NOT choose this establishment for your wedding unless you want to run the risk of the event manager mistreating your bride like he did Kelsie or choose to overreact to a situation that a competent manager should be able to solve in a way not reminiscent of a tantrum by a toddler. Yes, outside alcohol was brought onto the venue which from what I understand was a handful of beers from about 2-3 guests, out of approximately 85, and a shooter. The shooter was most likely from the limo that the wedding party took to the venue and disposed of inside instead of in the vehicle. When this was attempted to be explained to the staff, we were ignored and talked over. Outside alcohol, even the modest amount brought in, should not have occurred and we apologized profusely for it. However, when looking at the response from this business at both the event and online, one would think that we were a bunch of old-school bootleggers who were just completely out of control! We would have been more than willing to work with the staff on solving this if the bride, whose only job was to have a good time, wasn't the only one warned. This belligerent and profane warning was given only once before shutting down the wedding, not three times like the owner has either been misinformed or blatantly lied about repeatedly among other things, given that he wasn't actually at the venue which is something he often leaves out of his responses. I have talked to multiple bar and restaurant workers about this situation, including bartenders and an owner, and it seems to be consistent practice to give warnings to individuals that are performing the violation and ask repeat offenders to leave. The action of shutting down an entire wedding so suddenly seemed shocking to the vast majority of them. A simple, proper apology for the way Kelsie was treated hasn't even been received after all this time, with the way the event manager acted being described as being \"frustrated\". Apparently violent acts against a small woman can be described by this establishment as Dan being \"frustrated\". Again, please do yourselves a favor and find a different place to get married. Preferably where compassion, patience, and competence are considered necessary values by the business. Reviewed on 23-07-2023
K Soto(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2022 We spent 2 long years planning our perfect wedding. During this time we were corresponding with Dan who was taking care of all of our needs. The venue was GORGEOUS, the food was great, and everything was going well... until it wasn't. Dan was very rude the entire time we were setting up and throughout the night. We unfortunately had a member of our party sneaking in outside beer and Dan went up to me THE BRIDE and screamed in my face saying \"if I see this shit again I will shut you down.\" I had no idea what he was talking about at first and went to our guests and told them not to do it anymore. It was very unprofessional and should have been handled much differently than it was. We had an agreement with him that our event would run until midnight instead of the usual 10 o'clock and would just pay extra for the two hours. Dan was hesitant to do this from the get go and come 9 o'clock Dan was looking for any reason to kick us out. He found some empty shooter bottles in the trash that were taken in the limo prior to our arrival. To not be rude to the limo driver we cleared the trash and threw them away at the venue. But because he found more \"outside liquor\" Dan got into my face and yelled at me saying \"I'm fucking sick of this shit and I'm shutting you down. We could lose our liquor license and 75 people would be out of a job!\"First and for most the issue should not have been addressed with the bride to begin with. Second the way he screamed and cursed was very unprofessional and he got into my face and no one else's because I am smaller female. Finally, the irony in him saying they could lose their license is that they were serving minors all night and never once asked to see anyone's ID. A perfect night was ruined because Dan decided he didn't want to stay late and found any reason he could to shut it down. The icing on the cake was Dan stilled tried charging us for the extra two hours. If things had been handled differently this would not have been such an issue. I cannot begin to tell you how heart broken I was that everything was escalated so quickly and that Dan was so unprofessional. So unless you want your wedding night to end with a sobbing bride and screaming parents I would heavily suggest looking elsewhere. Reviewed on 27-09-2022
Alicia Allen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-07-2022 We had both our wedding and reception at 2 Penguins Tap and Grill in the Beer Hall space and garden area and we absolutely loved it. The entire team at 2 Penguins was incredibly helpful through the whole process. When we first started looking for a venue we were living out of state and Dan was kind enough to do a video walkthrough with us so we could see the whole space. He was super informative and communicative throughout the entire process, and his insights were very helpful when making decisions. They had many great food options and the one we selected was super well received by our guests and they thought the venue was beautiful. They were very helpful with our other vendors as well. We'd highly recommend them for your wedding (or any other event!) Reviewed on 23-08-2022

I have spent my entire career in the hospitality and catering business, serving everything from presidential dinners to simple picnics, and more weddings that I can possibly remember. For my semi-retirement I chose to open a Colorado-centric taproom and restaurant that celebrates everything I love about our state. We feature a curated rotating list of the very best crafts from Colorado brewers, full bar and a complete menu for weddings as well as rehearsal dinners and dining in. We built with upcycled Colorado materials throughout our building. It's all about layed back fun!
