Aldie Mansion Reviews
Erica Messerschmidt(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-04-2018 My wedding was in April of 2018, and we had an awesome day! We received so many compliments the day of on the uniqueness of the venue, and how great the food was! Our meals were seriously delicious - and our cake was divine! We are still receiving compliments about how great the food was, weeks after the wedding. The planning process was also really easy. They give you a handbook with TONS of choices, but we were still able to keep it simple and our planner, Kim, was always there if we had questions (especially as we came close to the big day and I was e-mailing her daily!). My husband and I are very happy we chose Aldie and I would definitely recommend it to other couples! Reviewed on 15-05-2018

We got married at Aldie Mansion on 5/20/2023 and it was an absolute dream!!! From the first time we visited the venue in May 2021, we knew it was perfect for us. The mansion and the grounds have so much charm, truly picturesque. Catherine was our coordinator and she was amazing to work with - she answered all of our questions and always kept us on track with so we werenât stressed leading up the wedding day. Weather was not looking good the week of, so the team was very communicative as to what our options were if it was rainy. Our ceremony site got changed the day before our wedding due to work being done on the front patio, but Catherine was quick to help us pivot and use the back garden instead which was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Catherine did such a good job keeping us on schedule throughout the day, while also letting us enjoy our party. JAM Catering was great as well, the food options were amazing and they sent us home with plenty of leftovers since we didnât get to eat it all on our wedding night. Our guests were so impressed with the venue and food, we were getting questions all night asking how we found such a perfect venue! Reviewed on 22-10-2023

My future husband and I are getting married at Aldie Mansion this year and recently attended our group wedding tasting at the venue. JAM Catering is the exclusive caterer, and boy did they knock it out of the park. The group tasting was a great opportunity to test out a wide variety of JAMâs catering menu â including numerous options for signature cocktails, butlered hors dâoeuvres, cocktail stations, dinner entrees, and cake (shout out to the Arnold Palmer pound cake with buttercream frosting and lemon custard filling)! Each dish lived up to JAMâs renowned reputation, and we left with full stomachs and full hearts. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and an added bonus was the opportunity to chat with other couples getting married at the venue. Aldie Mansion and the its grounds are truly breathtaking, and the tasting was a great opportunity to see what our venue will look and feel like on our wedding day. The tasting affirmed we made the right decision picking Aldie Mansion and JAM catering, and made us even more excited for our big day! Reviewed on 12-07-2023

Nicole Dillenkofer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2022 Aldie helped make our wedding the day of our dreams! Not only is it a beautiful venue, but their food was excellent, they helped us to find many of our vendors, and guests loved the indoor/ outdoor flow. They allowed for a lot fo customization in terms of decorating and the menu as we had some dietary requests. The great part about the building being so beautful is that it didn't need too much extra in terms of decorations. The only con I had was working with our coordinator, Kim. She always took many days to respond and didn't always follow up when she said she needed to get more information to be able to answer my questions. In the end it turned out well, but it was a little nerve wracking in the planning process. Reviewed on 29-12-2022
Katie Bavoso(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2022 Our September, 2022 wedding at Aldie Mansion was a dream come true! I echo other reviews that say it felt like the experience was taking place in your own private residence- intimate, exclusive, and magical. The venue was beautiful with gorgeous period details, meticulous landscaping, and lovely gardens. Because of this, I did not feel we needed to spend a ton of money and effort on over the top decor. JAM Catering went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of throughout the night and they truly delivered on their reputation for hot and delicious food. We had about 120 guests and everyone was so impressed and satisfied. Our coordinator, Monika, was very easy to stay in touch with throughout the planning process and she was on top of every detail even before we were. Monika was patient with my husband and I and always gave us transparent answers to our questions, which was important as neither of us had ever planned an event like this before. We hired the photographer and alcohol retailer (you must bring in your own alcohol at Aldie, which really helped us control the total cost) from their preferred vendor list and could not be more satisfied with them. What stood out to me the most in the entire experience was how much the JAM staff helped out with the setup of everything in the hours leading up to the guests arriving. We were able to drop everything off the day before and keep it in a closet overnight. I was very worried about timing everything correctly when arriving at Aldie (setting up decorations, changing into my dress, first look, photos, etc.) because JAM states very clearly what they will and won't help setup in their contract and I brought in the majority of my decor, including my flowers. When I arrived ready to get to work 2.5 hours before the guests started arriving, I was delighted to find that a good 95% of the setup was already done! Thank you JAM and Aldie Mansion for a truly spectacular wedding day! Reviewed on 28-12-2022

Entering the gorgeous property and seeing the sprawling 1920s mansion, the English style gardens and the huge stately old oak tree covered in white Christmas lights was a truly beautiful and transporting experience for us and all of our guests. We sought a unique location for our Doylestown wedding & we definitely found it. Joanna V(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2021 Positives: The venue is gorgeous! We got so many compliments. The bartenders were fantastic. The food was stellar. Much better than your typical wedding food. Staff was friendly and welcoming.Negatives: With COVID, the JAM wedding planners seem overwhelmed and not very responsive. This is probably due to being understaffed (like all industries) but it makes it tough to plan when youâre waiting to hear back for days (sometimes weeks) at a time. Keep bugging them to get back to you. Our planner was nice and did a good job of setting up the venue and all of our decor. Unfortunately, she wasn't at our rehearsal and the ceremony was initially set up wrong. She also kept coming to the groom with questions the whole day, which made us feel like she was unsure of how our ceremony was supposed to run. There was also a 30% chance of rain and I pulled our JAM planner aside and asked her if it was a good idea to move forward with an outdoor plan if there was a chance it might rain. She didn't really advise me one way or ther other, just said it would probably be fine. As the sky began to darken, she didnât ever consult me again and didn't want to be the one to make the decision. We were really depending on her expertise and professional opinion to help us, especially since were dealing with so many moving parts on our wedding day and didnât have time to be checking the weather every hour. As soon as our guests were seated outside for the ceremony, there was a downpour of rain and we had to watch them run inside for cover. It was heartbreaking and I ended up crying before walking down the asile because I was so overwhelmed and disappointed with how that went down (not really the mindset you want to be in before getting married). I had several people tell us they thought our JAM planner should have made the call for us and shouldn't have forced us to make the decision. Maybe JAM doesnât want to be responsible for a rain plan decision, but the refusal to make a call, and to leave it completely in our hands caused more stress and ultimately made everything worse. To top it off, we postponed our wedding from October 2020 to October 2021 due to COVID. We had originally booked a date on a Saturday, but in order to move to a Saturday the following year we had to lose $6,000 to rebook. None of our other vendors did this to us. If we opted for a week day it would be free, but we had originally PAID for a Saturday and we wanted what we had paid for. They told us they were reserving those new Saturdays for their 2022 couples (which made us feel like as a 2020 couple we didn't mean as much to them as their new customers since they already had our money). We ended up paying extra and losing our money to have a Saturday again, but they wouldn't budge in this policy, which was unfortunate. My suggestion for folks who choose this venue would be this: Do not rely on the JAM planners to support you as a normal planner might. Hire an outside planner to be with you that day, someone you trust to make informed decisions and take stress off of you and who can answer the vendor's questions so you can just relax. It was still a beautiful wedding, just unfortunate that we had a mixed experience with JAM as a whole with the planning and business side of things. Reviewed on 08-11-2021

I was NOT wanting a cookie-cutter country club ballroom and I found that in Aldie. The Mansion is full of character and it was the perfect space to host both my ceremony and cocktail hour/reception. hazel guinto(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-05-2016 We fell in love with Aldie Mansion the first time we saw it because it was historic and romantic. We signed the contract with Heritage Conservancy and Jeffrey A Miller catering more than a year before our wedding date. The tasting event was a gastronomic experience (advise- do not eat the day prior) and helped us pick out menu items. About 3 months prior to our wedding date, Kim Bates, our wedding coordinator, set the wheels in motion and everything came out perfectly. She went through our menu selections thoroughly and made very helpful suggestions. She drew a map of the venue so we could plan where everything was going to be. She mapped out the entire event by the minute. She suggested having dance sets in between dinner courses. She was very flexible regarding personal decorations we wanted to use. While we were getting ready, one of the bridesmaids had a hemming emergency and we needed an iron. Kim found one and delivered it to the bride's suite. It down-poured the entire afternoon of our wedding day. We planned for a ceremony outdoors. Half an hour before our ceremony was about to start, the rain turned into a drizzle. Kim and her team quickly moved chairs out to the patio. We had a wonderful, intimate, super-romantic ceremony by the fountain. The toast while we were on the balcony made it even more special. We could not have picked a better venue. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the venue was, how good the food was, and how well the festivities flowed. Kim, Tessa, and their team did an awesome job and we can't say enough superlatives about them. If you are thinking of getting married in Bucks County, you will be missing out if you did not have it at the gorgeous, historic Aldie Mansion, savor JAM catering's wonderful menu, and work with a wonderful team of wedding professionals.Hazel and Ken 5/13/2016 Reviewed on 23-07-2016
Alyssa Weiss(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2015 If you talk with our guests, they would probably give Aldie a 5/5. The setting is beautiful, which helped to make for a wonderful day. However, there were behind-the-scene issues that caused me to give a lower rating.Things to be aware of:-A novice wedding planner that seemed as though she didn't know the entire system-Items that weren't set up on time (when the first guests had arrived, they stated that the pre-ceremony beverages weren't set up)-We felt like it was all about the $$ (we asked to start 30 minutes earlier, and we were willing to pay money to do so. We were told no because they could potentially book another event beforehand, even though this was three months out and there were slim chances of another wedding )-Day of service--When we were doing our photos during cocktail hour they brought out a small tray of appetizers for our entire bridal party, needless to say, I didn't get to try much. When a server was asked to bring more out, they never came back. During the reception family member grabbed drinks for me and my husband, it wasn't until our wedding planner left and the team captain took over, did a server offer to get us drinks.-I was excited to use their florist, only to find out they don't work holidaysOur wedding was beautiful and it was a spectacular day filled with love. Rachel McDonogh(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2016 We chose to have our wedding at the Aldie Mansion in Doylestown. The venue is absolutely beautiful. Jeffrey Miller (JM) catering have the exclusive contract for catering in the venue. Iâll start with the positives. JM provided excellent food on the night. Iâve been to lots of weddings and JM's food was exceptional, many of our guests commented on how incredible the food was. From the hors d'oeuvres to the dessert â we couldnât have been happier with the presentation and taste.Unfortunately, we canât say the same about the service. Amongst all these glowing reviews it might be that JM just had an off-night. Either way, when they charge as much as they do, you expect a level of professionalism, far beyond what we experienced. Food service:Dessert was brought out almost an hour after it was scheduled to be. By the time it was served all of the guests had left their tables. Most of the dessert went uneaten. I did witness a member of JM staff help themselves to a mini-cheesecake in full view of guests â so at least someone got to try it! Table-service during meal: We paid extra for 2 bar staff to service the tables with wine during the meal. For this we received 1 visit to the table with wine during the meal. I had to get-up twice from the table to ask the server to come back and serve again, and I was the groom so I imagine every other table received even less service. Missing alcohol:JMâs instruction is that leftover alcohol is to be taken off premise on the night of the wedding and we duly obliged â taking everything that was given tous by the bar staff. 6 days after the event, we realized that there was a significant amount of alcohol missing that I knew we hadnât used. Only when I took this up with JM, was I informed that they had 8 bottles of liquor and 4 bottles of wine of ours still onsite. Boxed-meals: JM is supposed to box and provide you with the wedding cake and no-show meals to take home as well as two complimentary boxed meals for the bride and groom. We received none of these.Dancing staff: The staff were very friendly so we had no issue when early in the night, they joined in dancing with the guests. In hindsight, if they had spent more time focusing on doing their jobs, we feel we wouldnât have had many of these issues. Staff was also extremely comfortable with helping themselves to cookies at our cookie bar that served as favors for guests. Lighting:For anyone considering Aldie Mansion, youâll know the lights on the oak tree are a major sell of the venue. During the evening I noticed they hadnât been turned on. I asked the staff to turn them on but they never were. JM have placed the blame on the venue â advising that they did try and that there was a technical issue. Miraculously the lights were working both before and after our event. Reviewed on 28-06-2016

When searching for a venue, I worked with Angela (who is in charge of Tyler Arboretum and Anthony Wayne). When she found out my mom lived across the country, she came with me to Aldie. I feel in love with Aldie when I visited and really appreciated Angela's care and support. The staff at Aldie were just as caring. Planning the wedding was stressful, but Sue (my coordinator) was quick to answer my emails and texts. She was able to calm me down and assure me that she and the staff will take care of everything. And they really did. It rained on the day, but I know Sue and the staff made everything run smoothly. They made sure that my husband and I were fed and hydrated (with alcohol and with water). Our time line didn't go as plan, but Sue keep an eye on the time and never rushed us. It was truly a crazy day, but our guests told us that the food was amazing and the venue was gorgeous (even in the rain). We used Buttercup as our florist and they were so accommodating to our budget and to what I envisioned. One of our guest loved it so much, that she told her engaged daughter about Aldie and they will be having their wedding there next summer. You really can't go wrong with Aldie Mansion. We booked at Aldie about a year and a half to two years before our wedding date. On the day of the wedding we knew what to except on the wedding day, aldie had everything planned which made the night flow well. Our maitre de was easy to talk to and to found. She helped with anything. They had a tasting that everyone was invited to which was nice because you could smaple what food you would like. The one down fall from picking aldie was having to supply your on alcohol which wasn't terrible, just inconvenient. The venue is breath taking, with a balcony overlooking the courtyard fountain and the amazing gardens creates an illusion that makes you feel like you are no longer in Bucks County. The Aldie Manison along with JAM Catering, and Buttercup Florist made our day/night AMAZING!!! From the very beginning of the planning stages to the last few minutes of the night everything was just better than I could've ever imagined. Our night went off with out a hitch and if there was one, my Husband(!!!!!) and I did not know of it or even noticed it, everything was handled with class and care. The staff at the Aldie Mansion are phenomenal, please ask for Kim B or Tess, as they were great to work with! The food provided by JAM Catering was out of the world! Our parent's received so many compliments on the food as well as the presentation. I would also have to say the tasting that JAM puts on is like no other and gives you a true sense of how amazing the food will be on your special day. Last but, not least was JAM's new floral division, Buttercup Florists. I told Tom, I just wanted simple yet elegant flowers for my day and he made it happen and then some! All of our bouquets were gorgeous and lasted the entire evening, the center pieces were just as perfect with so many people trying to take one home at the end of the evening. Just fantastic! And despite the fact that the only piece of cake I had was shoved in my face by my husband, it was DELICIOUS, and I still wish I had gotten to eat more of it. \r\rMy only complaints would be about the service of the planning staff- there was often confusion about dates and times leading up to the wedding. Danielle Krantz(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2013 Aldie Mansion is gorgeous. There is no denying it. I was THRILLED when I found out they offer a \"bistro\" menu, which is less expensive than their regular menu. We found out after booking that they would then try to tack on money here and there. They tried to charge an extra dollar for the salad we picked, and they even tried to add on a cost PER PERSON to \"set up a display for the hors d'oeuvres.\" How is that not part of the package, and how would you charge a per person fee for the display?? At the end of the day, I was able to get rid of all the added on costs per person, and our wedding day truly was beautiful. I have to admit that the manager there, Kim, is miserable. Please avoid her at all costs if possible. One last thing... when I signed the contract and sent in our deposit check I received a phone call from the aforementioned Kim who advised me we owed them more money. I reviewed the contract again, and let her know we paid the correct amount. She then told me that they had put the incorrect amount on the contract, but since the rates were posted online we should have known better. She said we owed her another $1500!! At this point, she was so rude that I did not even want to discuss helping her with the mistake she had made. I told her I couldn't do anything to help her now because it was a signed contract. She still insisted we pay her more! She even tried to tell me that we had to pay because it was for the Heritage Conservancy, and they do so much good in the communities that it would basically be offensive for me not to cough up more money. I ended up having to involve my outside wedding planner, who threatened the Heritage Conservancy to never send another bride to any of their venues, and then AND ONLY THEN did they actually agree to abide by the contract that THEY had sent to ME. It put a sour taste in our mouths right off the bat. From that point forward, we were constantly nervous that they would try to get money out of us another way, and though they tried, we were very diligent with our bills and would not pay more than the thousands upon thousands we were already paying. I hate to say it, but Jeffrey Miller and the manager Kim are ruining wedding planning for the beautiful Aldie Mansion venue. The venue itself is absolutely outstanding!!! Reviewed on 05-10-2013

Aldie Mansion has plenty of menu options to make it work for your budget. The venue is just incomparable for its idyllic setting, gorgeous building, and also for being a one-stop shop. The caterer is on-site and exclusive, which means you don't have to shop for a caterer (one less thing to deal with), and the kitchen is on-site so the food is fresh, hot, and delicious. Weeks later, everyone is still raving about the location and the food. The included wedding coordinator was helpful and responsive, and the day of she was great, but leading up to the event she seemed scattered, mixing wedding details and taking a few days to respond via email (probably a reasonable amount of time, but to a bride planning a wedding even minutes seem like days). And, it turns out, they've got options for just about every budget!\r\rWe signed our paperwork, started planning, and had an amazing wedding! We couldn't be happier with our decision to book with them. Reviewed on 09-10-2011
Karen Kapral(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-08-2011 I loved our Aldie Mansion wedding. I'd like to recreate it with all of the same vendors in 20 years! Jeffrey Miller's food was outstanding!\r\rMy only complaint, we did lose some of our personal items even though we had an inventory sheet. At the end of the night our wedding seemed like chaos and even though we assigned friends to look after our things, they were having fun and didn't know when it was time to start gathering things. A staff member told us everything was packed up. We trusted him but did lose items, luckily nothing too valuable or sentimental. Reviewed on 05-10-2011
cheryl finan(parent)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-08-2011 Don't be fooled by the beautiful venue. I am inclined to disagree with the other posts and there were defiantly a few issues with Jeffery Miller Catering who provides the wedding planner for the Aldie. A few weeks after a wedding planner was assigned an email was sent stating she was leaving the company and a new planner was assigned. There was a terrible communication problem with the new wedding planner and it seemed like we had to send emails at least 2 and 3 times before a satisfactory response was given, we told by the planner that her toddler ran off with some of our paperwork. The wedding planner was either over worked or confused on certain matters, she seemed to add more stress to the wedding planning. \rHowever the incident that was most disturbing was some of our personal items were overlooked by the wedding planner and not even used, for example handmade table numbers and framed photos for the bookshelves. Items were dropped off in a very small room which also seemed to be the office used by the Aldie staff the Thursday before the Saturday wedding all very clearly marked with event date and bride and groom names as well as what was inside the actually boxes. These boxes also included the items for the candy bar. After the guests were seated at the wedding it was noticed no handmade table numbers where placed on the table and by then it was too late also no photos on the bookshelves either. The reason why was someone from the Aldie placed a small artificial tree right on top of the labeled box while it was in the office, therefore it was totally missed. A complaint was made after the security deposit was received as we did not want to jeopardize them returning our deposit. A Jeffery Miller staff member did apologize via email and refunded $100.00 due to the un-professionalism of the wedding planner, that $100.00 was less then what we paid for one invited guest. They basically told us the overlooked items were our fault and proceeded to quote a page in their 2010 hand book (we were given a 2008) stating the bride should assign a friend or family member to be in charge of her personal items (table number, photos, etc) one would think that would be one of the responsibility of the wedding planner on the day of the wedding and if someone would have not covered up the box with the tree in the first place, those beautiful hand made table numbers would have been on the table instead of in the box during the reception. They also quoted from the hand book that written inventory of your personal items should be submitted, we dropped off the items on Thursday there was plenty of time for the wedding planner to inquire as to where our inventory sheet was and we could have easily provided it in plenty of time. So based on the above and overall experience I would not recommend the Aldie or JM catering they just don't pay attention to details, which is what you would expect from a wedding venue as expensive as this one. Don't be fooled by the beautiful outside venue it is what is inside that really counts. Perhaps they should have a better drop off area other then the small office and should be more careful where the are placing things and if a inventory sheet was required then the wedding planner should have requested one, but she never ever even mentioned it. Monica Hoge(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-08-2011 Aldie Mansion is a good location for flexible wedding needs. Unlike many \"tented\" historical venues in the area, wedding guests occupy the home and grounds of this beautiful estate. \r\rThe many rooms offer flexible wedding possibilities including a ceremony on-site. We chose to have an indoor ceremony from the beginning. We created a horseshoe-shaped seating arrangement in the Great Hall, seating about 70 people in the combined floor area and balcony. It made for an intimate ceremony. The library and patio served well for cocktails and the banquet room offered spacious dining. \r\rAldie also had the facilities to accommodate our practical needs, including first floor restrooms for our elderly guests and wheel chair ramps. \r\rAldie has an exclusive caterer, Jeffrey Miller Catering. Jeffrey Miller is a bit expensive, but offers lower priced menus and high quality. \r\rThrough Jeffrey Miller Catering, Aldie Mansion assigns each wedding a coordinator. In the early days there was some miscommunication which caused stress, but once we were assigned Shelley as our coordinator facts were straightened out. She was responsive and attentive to our unique requests. Reviewed on 28-08-2011
