Allied Arts Guild Reviews
Ali G(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2023 Took several requests to get an appointment for a tour. The tour itself was very brusk and the coordinator left saying they would send us a proposal to look over within 24 hours. We never heard from the Allied Arts wedding coordinator again. It looked like a beautiful venue, but based on our interactions with the staff we knew we would rather partner with a more responsive venue. Reviewed on 21-10-2022
Brittany Tom(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-07-2021 My partner and I were looking for an outdoor garden venue in the Bay Area with lots of flowers and foliage. From the moment we visited Allied Arts Guild, we fell in love. The grounds are beautifully maintained and we loved the different areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The venue feels intimate, but also large enough for guests to roam freely.Tiana, the venue coordinator, was so wonderful to work with. She was extremely flexible with any requests from allowing us to hang up string lights in the dance floor to letting us visit the venue several times prior to the big day. I always knew everything was under control and Tiana always had our back. We decided to use Cafe Wisteria (which is also managed by Tiana) as our catering for dinner, and even though there are not that many reviews online, we thought the food was delicious! We thought the beef short rib was amazing, both at the tasting and the wedding! Several guests commented that the lamb appetizers were some of the best they ever had. Reviewed on 26-08-2021
Rebecca Lamothe(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-06-2021 Allied Arts guild is such a magical venue! We had our wedding there in June and it was such a lovely place with all the flowers in bloom. Tiana was incredibly responsive throughoht the process and very supportive with changing our plans due to covid. Couldn't recommend them highly enough! Reviewed on 26-07-2021
Jeri C(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-10-2020 Allied Arts guild was the absolute perfect venue for our mini-wedding. The guild itself is so beautiful and quaint, and the little shops are so charming. Every time we visited, we were transported into a lovely oasis. During our search for venues when we first got engaged, Allied Arts Guild was one of our top choices, but we eventually settled on a winery. But when the pandemic hit, our original venue closed down and we went back to Allied Arts Guild, since they were safely operating their businesses outdoors. The stars aligned and they were available on our date, and they offered the perfect setting to our downsized mini-wedding. Everything about the whole process was amazing, and Tiana was such an angel to work with. She accommodated all of our requests and offered her expert opinions on making our dream visions come to life. On the day of the wedding, everything was executed flawlessly and we had a perfect day thanks to her and the entire staff. We had an 11am ceremony and brunch wedding and the food was spectacular. Plus, since it is during COVID times, the staff performed all the proper safety protocols and measures. Plus, some of the proceeds benefit Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital! Our wedding was everything we hoped for, and so so much more!! Reviewed on 20-10-2020
Maria Smyrniotis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-04-2019 We had our wedding at Allied Arts in late April and we are so glad we chose this venue. Everything was in bloom and it was beautiful. We had our ceremony on the Merner Green, cocktail hour was in the Blue Garden, dinner was in the Dinning Room, and dancing and desert was in the Sunset Room. We also had an outside bar and games on the Sunset Patio. Our wedding rehearsal at Allied Arts wasn’t great. I booked the Merner Green for our rehearsal the night before the wedding but people set up lawn games where the rehearsal was taking place before we arrived. I was very confused because I booked the garden months in advanced. Also the other people looked mad and upset that we moved their games. Even though, I booked that garden for the rehearsal because that’s where we were getting married the next day. Luckily I had a wedding coordinator (Marian from Joshua Charles Catering Company. I highly recommend her and the catering company) who sorted things out and handled everything. Overall I recommend Allied Arts Guild for a wedding venue. Reviewed on 20-05-2019
Clarissa Chaplin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-11-2018 I desperately wanted to get married outside, during the autumn, so I had to have a venue with gorgeous trees and outside, as well as a place for a back up plan in case of rain. I also wanted to have the reception inside, because it would be getting colder as night fell. Allied Arts Guild had it all. I was skeptical at first from the pictures I saw online. But I was blown away in person. It is an old Spanish style mansion, with luscious gardens areas, and a BEAUTIFUL oak tree with multiple locations for the ceremony, both inside and out. They also allowed us to bring items to set up on the day of the rehearsal because there were no other events that day, so we could have everything ready to go easily the next morning. We also had our catering done through them, and they had amazing options. My husband does not like tomatoes, and we ordered two appetizers with tomatoes because he agreed they were THAT good. Our dancing area was in a separate room from the dining area, and I think that helped keep everyone moving and dancing, which was super fun! I also loved this venue because all proceeds goes to the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, which I think is amazing. I loved getting married here, and recommend it for anyone looking for a beautiful venue. Reviewed on 10-01-2019
Aya Maeda(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-05-2014 The Allied Arts Guild is a hidden gem in a formerly gated residential community: an au naturale setting, rich historic Spanish colonial architecture, lush gardens laden with surprises around every corner, and locational convenience for visiting guests. Given that my husband and I wanted to avoid sterile hotels or fake golf course venues, we could not have asked for a better wedding venue.\r\rAAG was bit pricier than the average wedding venues in South Bay, but I knew the moment I stepped foot that it was what I was looking for. The natural beauty of the setting also helped to cut down costs on florals and other periphery decorations, which ultimately helped in staying within my overall budget. Portions of the venue proceeds will also go to benefit the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, so I felt my investment went to a worthy cause overall.\r\rThe event sales coordinator, Tiana, is excellent at her job, and is on the ball with general correspondence and follow-up. She is quite busy juggling all forms of on-site events, but was very level-headed and available when needed. She responded to most email/phone queries within a day or so, and was much more accessible/available in person (especially after I committed to the contract), which is what I'd expect from any professional. She also has a lot of sway in keeping order within her realm and making sure all vendors do their bidding, which was really a godsend when we had a catering glitch during our reception. Overall she's an excellent alley to have on your side.\r\rThe onsite restaurant, the Blue Garden Cafe, is independently operated by JW Catering, but does a phenomenal job with food and service. Otherwise, AAG has some quirks given its residential location (ie. no outside vocal amplification, no brass bands, wedding ends at 9pm and all guests must leave premises by 9:30pm, etc) but none of this detracts from its intrinsic beauty. Our guests raved about the venue, and I know I will be going back again to stroll the gardens along with a Saturday brunch. Reviewed on 11-06-2014
Janet Lee(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2012 The grounds and structure are beautiful! My wedding day was perfect. I cannot be happier with how everything turned out. \rThe events coordinator Tiana was so kind and patient with her assistance and expertise in making our wedding planning process much more enjoyable. We didn't have enough in our budget to hire our own wedding planner but Tiana stepped in to guide and assist whenever we needed her even though it was not part of the rental fee. That really meant so much to us that she helped us plan such a unforgettable day.\rAll our guests were very impressed by the lush gardens and structure and everyone was shocked to discover Allied Arts Guild in such a hidden residential area. It is truly a hidden gem! \rWe cannot expressed how happy we are that everything turned out perfectly on our wedding day. The only downfall of the property is that music has to end early at 9pm but by that time most of our guests were already tired.\rOverall, we give Allied Arts Guild two thumbs up! Sachie Yoshikura(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2012 It's a gorgeous venue with beautiful gardens. However, it'll be very difficult to plan a wedding here without your own wedding coordinator. The event coordinator at Allied didn't respond my emails and phone calls after we signed the contract. She is not helpful at all. It was VERY frustrating. I'd give 5 stars for pretty gardens and buildings but no star for the event coordinator. Reviewed on 05-09-2012
