Almquist Farm is a family-owned and operated wedding venue located in Hastings, MN. This picturesque property is an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Couples are welcome to host the event of their dreams in this peaceful location, setting an unforgettable backdrop for a romantic and memorable celebration. For five generations, every inch of Almquist Farm has been cared for by Charles Almquist and his descendants with great love and attention to detail. Couples and their loved ones will feel at home on these grounds as they celebrate their joyous day. A number of locations throughout this secluded property offer guests the opportunity to wed amidst the beauty rural Hastings has to offer. Your wedding arch can be erected against scenic views of rolling hills and lush forest for a ceremony under the warmth of the sun. The barn that can accomidate up to 340 guests, and its versatile, open-plan layout offers ample space for both a formal sit-down dinner and a night of dancing and entertainment. Featuring cathedral ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and a roaring fireplace, rustic charm meets refined elegance throughout this charming property. Once the sun sets on your celebration, you are welcome to gather with loved ones around the bonfire, enjoying a peaceful evening. To ensure that your day runs smoothly, the dedicated team at Almquist Farm offers couples a wide range of services. The staff will be on hand to take care of set up and clean up throughout your event, allowing you to focus on making memories with your guests. Almquist Farms is a beautiful venue and Paul and Kari are the best to work with. My fiancé and I fell in love with the venue space on our first tour but what really blew us away was the thought and care that Paul and Kari put in to our day. They had amazing vendor recommendations that made the wedding planning process easy and all the vendors loved working with them. As someone who planned their own wedding, this was a priceless perk of this venue. This was also my first look in to how well Paul and Kari organized their events. Our day was so special and everything went so smoothly because of the care that theyi put in to all the details (vendor list, pre-wedding meeting, execution and management of the space the day of, etc). Kari herself was at the bar helping serve guests at our reception!The outdoor space, the reception area, the getting ready space and the surrounding property is beautiful. Our guests could not stop telling us how beautiful the space was (and neither could our photographer)! The makeup artist appreciated and worked well in the getting ready space for the bridal party and the area served as the perfect spot for the wedding party to get ready before the ceremony and chill out between the ceremony and the reception. All the spaces were very clean and there was always enough room for a large wedding party (16 people) and the guests. Almquist has a great outdoor area with a fire place which was the perfect vibe for a September wedding. It had everything we needed plus items we didn't know we needed but we appreciated having (like a storage closet for empty decoration boxes). If I were to do it all again, I would choose Almquist in a heartbeat.

This venue is GORGEOUS!! Our wedding was in late October, and the leaves were stunning. The walkway down the aisle was great for the ladies and guests in heels. The get-ready area was spacious and easy to get too (we liked that the girl's get-ready area was upstairs so the guys didn't run into them while getting ready, but we would still be gathered together for picture/ceremony/etc. The reception hall was gorgeous and very spacious (plenty of room for our 120 guests). The owners were fantastic to work with. They were quick to respond to emails, present on the day to help with anything, and they did provide the bartenders and alcohol for the bar. Overall, it was a great experience, and we could not have asked for a better place for our special day.

Almquist Farm is a gorgeous place to hold a wedding ceremony and reception. The rolling hills and oak trees set behind an idyllic farmstead make for such a romantic setting. The grainery provides great spaces for both the bride's party and groom's party to get ready and the relatively new barn was designed specifically to host events so it an ideal space to eat, drink, dance and be merry with all the people who matter to you. The tables and chairs available are beautiful and require nothing to dress them up for the event. We brought a handful of pumpkins and a couple mums but otherwise, did not bother with decorations of any kind because there was really no need. All these things are amazing but what I found to be special and unique about working with Paul and Kari at Almquist was the thought and care they put into each event they host on their incredible property. With the wedding industry being so overwhelming due to the sheer amount of choices you have to make, the list of caters, DJ services, florists, hair and makeup, wedding coordinators, bakeries, etc. , who have all worked with Paul and Kari in the past and vetted by them was invaluable. It gave us direction while planning and narrowed down the choices to help make decisions manageable. We utilized their list to hire our DJ, wedding coordinator, caterer, guest transportation, and photo booth and were extremely happy with all of our choices. They were communicative and professional and transparent about their expectations as well as very receptive to our wants and needs. A huge thank you to Paul and Kari and the rest of their family that helped us out on our big day. We loved every minute of it!

It's all shaded which is super nice for guests and the wedding party. The getting ready space is great and spacious for our wedding party and family going in and out. All of their vendor recommendations were spot on and made for the best day that we could have ever hoped for. The outdoor ceremony space and indoor reception/barn was so beautiful and a dream - our guests are still commenting on how it was the most gorgeous wedding that they have attended. Almquist Farm is an exceptional venue to say the least. We got married in late September and had the best luck imaginable weather-wise. It is such a breathtaking venue with tons of space for guests to go off and hang out, it is really well-run and the entire family is incredibly helpful and responsive with every tiny little question you have throughout the planning process. I would say that overall it would be nice if there was a little more wiggle room/flexibility with ways to customize your day, (vendor-wise and drink-wise) however the good news is that they are willing to give you work arounds to help make sure you can find a way to make it how you want. Almquist Farm was easy to work with, great communication and very helpful. They have a golf cart that transported those that have trouble walking. The venue is gorgeous, with goats and chickens to boot. Kari and Paul have created a special place for weddings.

Our dream wedding came to life in this place! I may be biased, but this is one of the most beautiful wedding venues I've ever seen, especially at sunset! There are rolling green hills, tall and lush green trees everywhere, and the sunset sky is unforgettable. The granary and reception barn are also so beautiful. Paul and Kari are wonderful to work with. They are quick to respond to emails answering all sorts of questions. 230 people fit very comfortably in the reception barn for dinner and dancing. We had everything we needed, and it was such a perfect night. 1000/10 recommend.

Paul and Kari were amazing from the first tour we took until the days after our wedding. They treated us as if it was our home for the day and had the venue set exactly how we asked when we arrived. They accommodated our large guest list, and the barn allowed for great movement and plenty of space to talk, dance, and eat. Almquist Farm is a beautiful venue with rolling hills, a scenic outdoor ceremony area and modern barn reception space. Paul and Kari are wonderful hosts and make you feel so welcome. They are flexible at an having indoor/outdoor event. A separate building is available for the bridal party to get ready, including an upstairs bridal suite and plenty of room for the guys downstairs. We had a party of 18 and there was plenty of space for everyone. It is a beautiful venue and highly recommended!!

Almquist Farm is a beautiful venue with rolling hills, a scenic outdoor ceremony area and modern barn reception space. Paul and Kari are wonderful hosts and make you feel so welcome. They are flexible at an having indoor/outdoor event. A separate building is available for the bridal party to get ready, including an upstairs bridal suite and plenty of room for the guys downstairs. We had a party of 18 and there was plenty of space for everyone. It is a beautiful venue and highly recommended!!

I could not design a more perfect venue than Almquist. The whole day felt like a fairy tale, from the rolling pastures to the beautiful red barns. My guest were in awe of the whole space. The venue staff was lovely to work with and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend having your wedding here!

Almquist Farm was AMAZING to work with for our wedding day. They were very thorough on expectations, timelines, and available amenities. Working with Kari, Paul, and Johanna was very easy, they are all so kind and know their venue really well. Our winter wedding was absolutely gorgeous, they did a great job of keeping pathways clear for people to step outside when needed. The getting ready space in the granary is very functional and beautifully decorated for pictures as well. One of my favorite parts of working with them was the additional vendor list they provided to us after deciding to use their venue for our wedding. It has trustworthy and mostly local vendor recommendations for catering, shuttle, hotel, DJ, etc. We did use some of the recommended vendors and since they are familiar with Almquist it made coordination with them really easy as well. It also had a do not call list, which is equally as helpful with all the choices you have during wedding planning. We had many guests tell us we picked a beautiful venue and they would be happy to come back.

We had an AMAZING wedding at Almquist Farm! Paul and Kari were so kind and accommodating throughout the whole process, even before we booked them! They responded quickly to any question we had. The bar selection and service was fantastic. And the setting was gorgeous, our photographer loved the outdoor backdrop. The goats were also a big hit for our guests:) All in all, I cannot recommend this venue enough, and they made the first day of our forever perfect.

We had our wedding reception at Almquist Farm in May. It was absolutely wonderful. The owner and the staff were fair and pleasant to work with and the venue was beautiful. The tables were looked nice as is, so there was no need for linens. They have a comfortable house for getting ready. The children we had as guests especially loved feeding the goats. Great venue for dancing or intimate conversations around a bonfire. It was a great time and we highly recommend this place to anyone.

Some of our favorite things about this venue was the stunning views. The HVAC system in the reception hall, so hot or cold, rain or shine we were going to be comfortable. Lastly was the history and family atmosphere of the venue. Part of getting married is the joining of two families so starting that chapter here just made sense.

Almquist Farm was an absolutely gorgeous setting for our wedding and reception! We loved the outdoor ceremony site as well as the huge (air-conditioned and heated!) barn! It was a modern, fairy-tale take on a barn wedding, and we were so happy with this venue! One of our favorite things was their flexibility with the rain plan - we didn't have to decide if we would move the ceremony indoors until 2 hours before, which was great as it rained the morning of and then cleared up into the most beautiful day!

Paul and Kari were outstanding to work with. They created a personal (but professional) interaction and worked with us through all of the craziness of the last year and a half. The Venue is beautiful - couldn't ask for a better space. The outdoor area is woodsy but comfortable. Indoors is a beautiful modern barn. We got exactly what we had in mind for the venue, and the owners were so much better to work with than any other vendors we worked with.

Everything was perfect, Paul and Kari are so easy to work with and it couldn’t have gone any smoother. It's simple, really.... if Almquist Farm is open for your dream day-- BOOK IT!! Paul and Kari were extremely helpful and great hosts, we loved that we were working with family rather than a huge corporate structure. If you have toured or seen photos of the venue, you know it is stunning. Guests complimented it endlessly and loved the picturesque sunset, patio, and goats of course! The ceremony site is beautiful as well, and the shade from the big tree helped even our 85 degree day feel comfortable to guests. We 10/10 recommend.

Paul and Kari were extremely helpful and great hosts, we loved that we were working with family rather than a huge corporate structure. If you have toured or seen photos of the venue, you know it is stunning. Guests complimented it endlessly and loved the picturesque sunset, patio, and goats of course! The ceremony site is beautiful as well, and the shade from the big tree helped even our 85 degree day feel comfortable to guests. We 10/10 recommend.

Almquist Farm is one of the most beautiful venues. The scenery is exceptional, lush and green rolling hills overlooking the ceremony stage. The barn is beautiful, very polished and sleek inside. Paul and Kari are very thoughtful and put a lot of thought into everything they do. From their intentionally in creating a dance floor that is comfortable on your feet after hours of dancing to making it important to have a great wine selection at the bar. Parking was easy for guests, the kids were entertained by the goats nearby, lots of attention to detail and thoughtful went into creating this venue space.Planning a wedding during co-vid puts a lot of stress on couples but also venue owners. Paul and Kari are incredible people and we felt so blessed to work with them. They were so understanding and accommodating. They were very proactive and sent out communication to keep couples informed on the situation and provided solutions and alternatives, such a rescheduling for a different date, allowing us to have a ceremony this year and a reception next year, or choosing the have the full wedding. We appreciated that Almquist Farm had the option to have ceremony and reception outside. We chose to have our reception outside and it was beautiful, the views of the sunset while having dinner were just incredible. At night, the stars are breathtaking.

Almquist farms is the perfect place to have your wedding. From the outdoor ceremony space to the beautiful reception hall there is not one location that wont make you say wow. Our hosts were so accommodating with all of the COVID rules coming out. They kept us up to date on all of the changes, and helped us to find solutions. They know what they are doing. When I arrived that morning all of the tables were set up just how I needed them and they were willing to help us however they could. The ceremony took place at 4pm and the huge trees provided great shade so that all of our guests were comfortable. There are also goats who love popcorn and who were a huge hit with all of the guests. The old grain silo that was turned into a bride and a groom area gave us a great spot to relax and get ready. Since we were on the upper floor and the boys were downstairs we were able to enjoy it without ruining the surprise. During the reception the staff who worked the bar had long conversations with many of our guests which they all greatly appreciated. All of our guests told us they felt right at home and loved the natural scenery all around us. I would highly recommend Almquist to anyone looking for a wedding in a beautiful natural venue with amazing staff. We cant thank them enough for making our day so special!

Almquist Farm is an amazing venue for a wedding anytime of the year! My daughter and son-in-law were married in the winter. The ceremony and the reception were held in the same building which is clean and beautiful. It's also full of natural light from the french doors that overlook the countryside with a vast array of old oaks! It was a nice February afternoon that people gathered on the porch and children were running to see the goats! The granary is where the wedding party and families get ready. It is one of a kind! Paul and Kari are so easy to work with and felt like I've known them for awhile. They are open to new ideas as well. They are proud to share the history and what they've done to make it a great venue!Almquist Farm has something for everyone!

Paul and Kari were an absolute dream to work with. They were so quick and responsive to e-mails and phone calls and made the whole process of planning our ceremony and reception easy. They were incredibly flexible with us the morning of our wedding, as we had hoped to have an outdoor ceremony, but unfortunately it began to snow with a wind chill in the 20s mid October. We waited until the last possible minute to decide to have our reception indoors and it still turned out just as beautiful as we had imagined. We ended up going back to our venue the morning after to grab some items we forgot and we ran back in to Paul, and honestly talking with him felt like talking with a good friend He was so genuinely appreciative we had chosen Almquist for our wedding and had such personal and kind things to say to my husband and I about our wedding. The getting ready, ceremony and reception spaces are simply breathtaking, and our guests fell head over heels for the tiny goats they had. I highly recommend Paul and Kari and their beautiful venue.

The getting ready granery is awesome with a separate space for the guys and girls. So many extra touches including a full kitchen. The barn is beautiful inside with spectacular views out the large windows that line one side of the barn. We have been telling everyone about Almquist Farm! They also have a great list of florists ( pick Holly for flowers and day of) and caterers ( our guests loved Meatheads yummy food!)

Plus the adorable baby goats didn't hurt, either. Our guests loved being able to go inside and outside during the reception, and we had an incredible sunset light up the sky at the end of the night. I wish I could give Almquist 2000/10. This was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. The venue is simply stunning. I cannot tell you how many compliments my guests had for not only the venue but Paul and Kari(the owners) and their staff. From day one they are prompt in response to any questions you have and are extremely helpful with anything you need. An additional selling point for us was that there were ZERO upcharges. Many spaces we toured charged more for tables and chairs and basically every little thing. Almquist provided the chairs for ceremony, tables/chairs outside during cocktail hour and their BEAUTIFUL wood tables for the reception! The space for getting ready is amazing and we had the best time with our wedding party in there! It is so fun to get to watch all the guests arrive! The ceremony space is dreamy and I wish I could go back and get married every weekend there! The set up of the cocktail hour/reception hall allows your guests to be inside and outside! We got had so many compliments on how nice it was for guests who didn't want to listen to the music, to be able to sit outside by the fire and at tables! We used cannon river catering (one of I believe five preferred caterers) and they were AMAZING as well. Overall, we wish we could have our wedding here again and again!

Almquist Farm is an amazing venue! Paul and Kari were so easy to work with and easy going! We live locally and we got so many compliments from our friends and family, everyone loved this venue! We had a large wedding party and it was in the 90’s and we were still super comfortable getting ready in the granary! For as spacious as this venue is it was still very intimate! I hope we get invited to another wedding there just so we can enjoy this venue again!

If you want a venue that can be as relaxingor as formal as you want it to be, go check out Almquist Farm! It is beautiful and the family that owns it is just as nice as it is beautiful. We fell in love with the hidden ceremony site immediately. The grainery where the wedding party can get ready is also amazing. they have goats. they will set up a bonfire for you if you want it. and the views of the rolling hold in Hastings make for a great backdrop for all of your family and friends photos. We had a blast and couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding at. It had just the amount of wimsy and casual feel that I was trying for :) I highly recommend Almquist for anyone even the least bit interested in seeing it. you will fall in love too.

The Almquist Farm was a beautiful location. The owners were easy to work with, kind, and family focused. We picked this venue because we knew that we would not have to worry about a thing day of. They set up the chairs and tables (outdoors and indoors), communicated clearly (with me, my family, musicians, wedding coordinator, etc.), and were flexible with me as I made decisions.Another perk was that we could choose whether to have our ceremony inside or outside day of (15 MINUTES before the ceremony!). All in all, every penny was well spent at Almquist. As a bride with a budget, I highly recommend this venue and the Curtis family. My wedding was a dream come true because of them.

It was a very cold snowy day so we ended up having to move the ceremony inside but Paul & Kari will absolutely the best in creating my daughter's dream inside. Everything was perfect! Excellent location for beautiful scenery, the perfect place for all to get ready & have some down time after the ceremony, not to mention how beautiful everything was from outside to inside. Paul & Kari go the extra length to make your day perfect! They are there to help as much as you need them. I cannot recommend this venue enough!! You will love it!!

Our wedding was in August at Almquist Farm and it was an absolute fairy tale! The weather was perfect and from the getting ready barn to the reception hall everything looked beautiful! Our wedding was outdoors under the shaded trees and the rolling green hills in the background took our breathe away. Our photos were incredible thanks to the scenery and detail Paul and Kari put into every part of the farm! Our guests are still talking about our wedding three months later and we absolutely loved every part of our wedding day at Almquist. Paul and Kari think of everything and were extremely helpful with their recommendations! They answered all my random questions which helped make our day run smoothly. Taylor and I cannot thank Almquist Farm enough for giving us the day EVER!!

Paul and Kari Curtis (Owner) Beautiful rolling hills and the rich legacy of Almquist Farm set the stage for a memorable wedding for our daughter in 2016. So much so, we decided to share this beautiful place with others who would also appreciate the beauty and history of our family farm. As you enjoy the casual elegance of our barn and granary and the beauty of the landscape, we hope you will keep in mind the legacy of Almquist Farm. It is a 5th generation standing testament to the importance of family, and to the work ethic of all of those who have called it home over the years. We are glad to share it with you!
