We loved this venue for many reasons. One was the amazing views. You can’t beat the views at this Venue. Two was the staff. They were very friendly and easy to work with. Pam was very personable and great to talk to about wedding and non wedding things. Three was the overall space of the whole venue. There’s a very nice outdoor area for the ceremony facing Grand Father Mountain (unbeatable), reception area is amazing and beautiful, the pavilion just in case there’s bad weather (great views as well) and the three cabins for family and wedding party. The cabins are very spacious and beautiful. Overall this venue is the best for value, views, location, esthetics, staff, and cleanliness! Nothing beats it! Reviewed on 04-09-2023

We had our wedding on 10/14 this year and it was absolutely gorgeous. The venue was so beautiful and it was exactly how we imagined our wedding to be. Book quick if you want a fall wedding! We booked July, 2022 and there was only one or two dates left in October, 2023. We got very lucky. 10/10 worth it. Reviewed on 09-12-2023

What an awesome experience we had for my daughter’s wedding.! There was not one single glitch before during or after the wedding. The staff was responsive and helpful every step of the process. I had so many guests ask me, young and old, \"how did they find this place, I had no idea it was here\". The view is absolutely spectacular AND PRICELESS. Being on top of a mountain with a 360 degree view with all the landmarks (Grandfather Mountain, Roan Mountain, Appalachian Trail, etc) just made it more special for guests (of course for us too) to be able to relax outside in awe of what God has given us.And the pictures……WOW!I encourage you to book an appointment with Appalachian View venue. You will not be disappointed!! Reviewed on 18-09-2023

We enjoyed having our daughter’s wedding at Appalachian View! The photos that were taken at the venue inside and out, was absolutely gorgeous! The views from the top of the mountain are unbelievably breathtaking. The beautiful wildflowers that they have planted is the perfect touch for a picturesque landscape. The venue’s manager, Pam, was professional, helpful, and kind not only to the wedding party, but to all of our guests. She went above and beyond to make our wedding go as smoothly as planned. We could not have asked for a more perfect and memorable place to have our wedding. Thanks to the owners and staff of Appalachian View for making this possible. Reviewed on 05-09-2023

Her kindness and willingness to go the extra mile were remarkable. The venue itself offers breathtaking views from every angle, making our wedding truly special. Even when rain unexpectedly fell on our day, the venue's rain backup plan and provision of umbrellas ensured a beautiful celebration. One of the venue's standout features is the on-site cabins. They were a tremendous asset, eliminating the need to drive after the wedding and serving as the perfect space for pre-wedding preparations. We highly recommend Appalachian View for any couple for the wedding venue! Kelly Bauer(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2022 Appalachian View was great to work with for our daughter’s wedding! We were so excited to have the beautiful Mountain views but then a few days before the event we found out Hurricane Nicole was coming exactly over the NC Mountains at the time of the wedding! Cathy and our coordinator Nicole(ha!) we’re so helpful in making the adjustment to moving the ceremony inside the main building so our guests and the bride and groom didn’t have to go out in the storm once dressed. We made the best of the situation and it was a beautiful ceremony and fun reception. They have a nice sized room for the bride and bridesmaid to get ready and a smaller room for the groom and groomsman. Since it was pouring outside the guys took advantage of the corn hole boards and played several games inside while the girls got ready. The main building is a large space and we had plenty of room for all the tables and the triangle arbor and we had a blast dancing! I highly recommend this venue. Reviewed on 18-11-2022
Megan Upthagrove(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-11-2022 We knew immediately when visiting the Appalachian View that this would be our wedding venue. First off - the view! It’s absolutely gorgeous with mountain views at every angle - especially the most famous, Grandfather Mountain. I’ve visited more than a handful of venues in the high country and this is by far one of the newest, prettiest and most accommodating venues. The LED lighting in the rafters is my favorite feature, adding that fun party flair for the reception. All of our guests commented on how new the venue is and how gorgeous even the bathrooms are. We worked with Nicole, who is the venue manager, and she was incredibly helpful, professional and personable. She let me visit the venue numerous times to show my vendors and even measure a wall for decor ideas. It rained the whole day of our wedding and I love that they offer a separate beautiful pavilion as a rain location option. This is much better than most places that would instead hold your ceremony in the reception hall surrounded by tables. They even offered super cute clear umbrellas for our wedding party, how thoughtful. Everything was just wonderful, more than I could have ever dreamed of - I definitely had the wedding of my dreams! Do yourself a favor and book this venue - you will not regret it! Reviewed on 11-11-2022

They even set them up for you. The views are INCREDIBLE. Like you seriously have to see a sunset here. It is amazing! They will go out of their way to make sure your day is perfect. For example, I completely forgot to get sparklers. I have no idea why or how, but I just forgot and did not realize until the photographer asked. The guys having their own building away from the girls was a huge bonus also! The kitchen and bar area are perfect. Not to mention the outside views with a fire pit, yard games, and dancing outside on the patio! It was perfect! Having cabins on site is also a huge bonus! Bride and groom don't even have to leave! We had an outdoor wedding in November, which could have gone poorly, but Cathy was ready with a back-up plan just in case! This venue really has everything, and the interior is almost as breathtaking as the surrounding views. The venue was clean, easy to get to, and it really felt like Cathy thought of everything! The bridal suite was a good size for myself & my 3 bridesmaids, as well as the mothers and some other people who were filtering in and out. Anat Bentor(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-08-2021 This was the first venue I called at the beginning of my wedding planning, and Cathy Buchanan was so friendly and helpful from the first moment. Anyone would be lucky to have their wedding here. The genius of a built-for-purpose wedding venue only dawns on you after you have looked at lots of other venues that each have their own unique set of challenges. This venue is perfect in every way. The owner thought of everything so that the annoyances of other venues do not exist here, but you still get a beautiful, unique, memorable setting for your wedding. The indoor venues are beautiful. I was first attracted to the feeling of a large “blank slate” that it gives, but when you are in there you notice the beautiful details throughout. The light fixtures are stunning and not cheesy the way most wedding venue chandeliers are. The bright, clean feel of the space means you can go rustic if you want to, but you aren’t forced into it by the space like so many other venues in the High Country. The quilts on the walls are gorgeous and they are made by the owner! Our caterer even mentioned loving the venue because of the catering kitchen and the dedicated side entrance. My absolute favorite feature of this venue is, funny enough, the bathrooms and the dressing rooms. They are really, truly, actually wheelchair accessible. They are private and abundant (a private bathroom for the bride, a private bathroom for the groom, a multi-stall women’s room, a multi-stall men’s room, and a separate family/huge wheelchair-accessible single-occupancy bathroom!). If you have loved ones who are in a wheelchair don’t discount how important this all is. Of course, the best parts of the venue are the views and the grounds, but these parts speak for themselves. Unfortunately, the day was rainy on and off, but this did not in any way bring down the day. The inside venue is beautiful and again the staff did everything possible to allow guests and our photographer to use the outside when the rain let up. Cathy was on site during the entire day to ensure everything went well. She was beyond helpful! The views are amazing. Juliet Rath(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-11-2020 I don't even know where to begin. This venue exceeded our expectations in every way. Cathy and Dale (venue owners) went above and beyond to make sure my now-husband (Matt) and I (Juliet) had everything we needed: the obvious items- ironed table cloths, chairs set up exactly how I (the bride) wanted (in the reception hall and the outdoor ceremony and backup ceremony location), and constant availability for all my questions from wedding insurance to table arrangements and more AND the not-so-obvious items- Cathy taking over for my brothers (who served as parking attendants) so they could get seated before I walked down the aisle, constant communication with my day-of-coordinators to make sure everything was going according to plan and making sure my guests were safe (#COVID). This is one of those hidden treasure venues that not many people know about yet, so I HIGHLY recommend booking before it gets too popular to even book. When you visit, you will agree that everything from the absolutely immaculate landscaping, to the \"plan b\" ceremony space (a totally separate building called the pavilion), to the custom lighting, is absolute perfection. Finally, I could write on and on about how gorgeous and spacious this venue is, but what stood out the most to my husband and I was the kindness of Cathy and Dale. Cathy told us that before they even built this venue, they went around asking other local venues if there was \"space\" for another venue. That alone shows their hearts and character, and it comforted Matt and I, knowing that if Cathy put that much heart into building this venue and creating this experience, our wedding would be perfect. And it was. Reviewed on 13-12-2020

As natives to North Carolina and these mountains, Cathy and Dale Buchanan have enjoyed this area for years - a cabin, time with family and friends, hiking the Appalachian Trail... Here, over the recent past, we have hosted weddings for special people in our lives. Consequently, we decided to build on these 75 acres a venue to share this beautiful location we love with others. We think this is the quintessential place to start your lives together, and it is very exciting for us to be able to make it available for your ceremony and precious memories.
