For Your Quintessential Garden Wedding
If you are seeking an estate home environment in an exquisite garden setting youâve arrived at the perfect place! There are three components to the rental of Appleford: you have the use of the inside of the house, use of the tented terrace, and access to the 24 acres of property. Your wedding can take place both inside and outside of the house. The use of the house consists: the Music Room, the Pine Room, the Dining Room. the kitchen, a Groomâs Lounge, the Brideâs bedroom suite for changing is located upstairs, and there is an additional space adjacent to the house called the Puppy Room for you to store your items before the wedding. Seating for your reception, for the most part, is located outside on the terrace which is tented April - November. The terrace is directly in front of and around the side of the house with beautiful views of the gardens. There are paddle fans, fans over the built-in dance floor and perimeter fans in the tent, a sound system and bistro lighting. The price of the tent is included in the site fee in-season. In the cooler months, the tent would be heated (at an additional charge) for the comfort of your guests. There are exquisite gardens on both sides of the house, which is an ideal location for cocktails before the reception, and an alee of trees and boxwood gardens for perfect wedding pictures. A pond, small waterfall, and a gorgeous landscaped entrance in front of the home is the ideal setting for an onsite ceremony. Appleford clients may select a caterer from an exclusive list of Eight Exclusive Caterers: Catering By Design, Feastivities Events, Feast Your Eyes, John Serock Catering, Perfect Setting Catering, Sage Catering, Seedling & Sage, and 12th Street Catering. These caterers provide the set-up and breakdown for weddings and receptions. If alcohol is being served, clients provide their libations and the bartenders are provided by the caterers. Clients are welcome to select a florist, photographer, videographer, and other vendors. Event pricing varies according to the time of the year, day of the week and nature of the event. We had our wedding reception at Appleford this month, and it was truly a dream come true! It was only the second venue we had visited after getting engaged, and the moment we stepped onto the grounds for the first time, my husband and I fell in love and knew we had to have our reception there. Lisa is so warm and friendly and is super responsive and helpful! She was always on top of everything we had to know, even leading up to days before the wedding, that we barely had any questions since she was so thorough. But when we did have last minute questions, she got back to us instantly! As for the venue, it truly is something out of a movie or fairytale. The gardens and estate are beautiful and make for stunning photographs with so many beautiful backgrounds. Iâm sure it is absolutely beautiful in every season, but it was gorgeous for a spring wedding with all of the flowers freshly bloomed. I loved the separate garden cocktail hour outside and the patio under the tent for dinner / dancing was perfect. It was beautifully strung with lights, and we had our florist string the tent poles with beautiful greenery. I also loved how inside of the house was an option too for people to have a little escape from the action if they wanted. My guests loved that as well, admiring all of the different areas you could be during the reception. It was about 60 degrees on our wedding day, and although warm and sunny during the day, it did get chilly at night, so we ended up renting heaters for the tent a couple days before the wedding. Lisa had given us the info for that, and it was super easy to set up. It was a comfortable temperature, and you still had the option to raise the tent flaps if too warm or keep them down. The bar was set up outside of the tent, so it was nice to be able to walk right outside the tent and get some fresh air in between dancing the night away! My family and friends have not stopped talking about how beautiful the venue was and how it truly made the reception so perfect. I canât stop thinking about how perfectly it fit my vision as well. I have always wanted an outdoor wedding reception with romantic, whimsical garden vibes, and that is exactly what Appleford is ! Look no further for a stunning venue that truly stands out from all of the others. I may be biased, but itâs by far the greatest venue I have ever been to! (And my guests agreed đ) The greatest decision we made for our wedding was picking Appleford, and I canât thank Lisa enough for turning our beautiful vision into reality â¤ď¸

Appleford is a gorgeous venue, and the team running it (Lisa especially!) are all superb. Professional, kind, accommodating, and very focused on Appleford's mission: helping others celebrate love in a special place. Definitely give it a look if you're planning on hosting a wedding in the greater Philadelphia area!

The minute we arrived on our tour of Appleford, my (now) husband and I were hookedâand the second we met Lisa we were hooked even more! The estate is as gorgeous as Lisa is helpful, and I truly believe that our wedding would not have been the beautiful fall-inspired day that it was had we gone with another venue. From our initial meeting, Lisa was in constant contact with us answering questions and helping us perfect our day all along the way. On the day of the wedding, rain threatened to put a damper on our plans, but Lisa, and her cheerful smile reminded me âitâs going to stop, donât worryâ every time she saw me. Iâm happy to say Lisa was right and our wedding was perfect. All throughout our night, guests commented on how gorgeous the venue was and how they loved all the different places they could explore. Whether dancing under the tent, or relaxing by the fireplace in the library, our guests had an incredible experience. I am so truly grateful to Lisa and the team at Appleford for making our wedding everything my husband and I wanted and more. 5 stars isn't high enough. Guests were complimenting the venue all night. It was the most romantic location and the PERFECT wedding venue. The photos came out absolutely stunning. The staff is incredible & kind. I appreciate all they did for me. HIGHLY recommend!

We were married at Appleford Estate on June 8, 2023, and it could not have been more beautiful! When we initially went to view Appleford as a venue, my husband at the end of the tour said he never wanted to leave! There are many locations on the property for the ceremony, and we opted to have our ceremony in front of the waterfall with the pond to the left. Our âfirst lookâ took place in the Allee of Trees, and it could not have been more perfect. The flowers all over the property were in full bloom, and the rose garden was absolutely stunning. The photo opportunities around Appleford Estate are endless! Lisa McBride who oversees Appleford and the events, was extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. On the day of our wedding, Lisa assisted our officiant, and helped with coordinating the ceremony. Lisa was an absolute gem!If you are looking for a romantic outdoor wedding venue, Appleford Estate will not disappoint! We absolutely loved it, and we plan on returning again on our first anniversary, celebrating with a bottle of champagne in one of the many gardens!Thank you Appleford and Lisa, for exceeding our expectations, you made our day so incredibly special, and we will never forget it!

We had the most amazing experience planning and having our wedding at Appleford - we just got married there on August 6th, 2023!! Not only are the grounds STUNNING (everything is photo-worthy), but the director of events, Lisa, is amazing - she's there to answer any questions you have and is so quick to respond. Lisa truly went above and beyond for us as well as the entire staff at Appleford, everyone was and has continued to be so kind to us. We booked & planned our wedding in 3 months, so having such a responsive point of contact was really important to us and it made it so much easier to plan on a time-crunch. Truly an unforgettable experience - I highly recommend getting married here if you're considering it, it was the best day of our lives and our guests LOVED it too!! Appleford is exquisite and beautiful! We had the best weather and temperature so I couldnât have asked for anything better. The bridal suite is humongous and perfect for getting ready. I love how big the cocktail area, it allowed guests to roam the venue and not be squished into a tiny room. The reception area was clean and the lights wrapped around the beams added a touch of romance. We had 132 guests and the space was perfect. We didnât feel like we were on top of each other. Lisa is awesome. She is quick to respond to your emails and was a wonderful help guiding us for the ceremony startIf I could, I would have spent all night dancing away!

We got married at Appleford Estate this past October. The venue is wonderful, both inside and out, and Lisa made the whole stressful wedding experience much less so. She was available to answer any and all of our questions, big and small, and made sure that the day went as smoothly as possible. We (unfortunately) ended up married during the remnants of Hurricane Ian but Lisa moved us seamlessly to our backup plan and made sure everyone was on the same page. The wedding was as beautiful and smooth as it could be. We'd highly recommend working with Lisa and Appleford if you're looking for your dream venue!

Appleford is such a dream. I can't imagine a more magical or more stunning venue and I am so happy my husband and I had our reception here. How can you top a historical garden house in the middle of a literal bird sanctuary? It's the kind of place that gets made into a painting - that's how pretty it is. Their rental fee may be steep but it was undeniably worth it. Lisa McBride is the epitome of a wedding professional. She remembered us by name from the day we first visited/placed a deposit and at any catering open houses or wedding expos we attended at Appleford, she made sure to say hello and that we had a nice time. The week of our wedding we had last minute questions and ended up renting heaters and she was incredibly responsive and attentive and made our lives so much easier. Appleford provided such a romantic, cozy, and beautiful atmosphere for our event. We had wanted venue that felt like \"us\" and somehow Appleford, despite being an incredibly popular choice packed full of weddings every year, turned into a special, intimate, and personal space right before our eyes with its magic. Many of our guests have told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

Appleford Estate was the most perfect venue for our wedding! When we visited for our tour, we immediately fell in love. From the video and tour led by Lisa, we both became teary eyed and knew we found our place! It had all the charm and magical notes for our special day! From the breathtaking gardens, pond, spots to explore and it being secluded was everything we wanted for our day! Lisa was so helpful and answered all of questions it many questions. She made everything easy to figure out. We had a perfect day, the weather was in the low 80s in mid-August and everything went smoothly. And our photos came out perfect!!! Thank you Appleford Estate for naming our wedding dream come true! I see our anniversary dinner there next year!!!

Appleford Estate was the most perfect venue for our wedding! When we visited for our tour, we immediately fell in love. From the video and tour led by Lisa, we both became teary eyed and knew we found our place! It had all the charm and magical notes for our special day! From the breathtaking gardens, pond, spots to explore and it being secluded was everything we wanted for our day! Lisa was so helpful and answered all of questions it many questions. She made everything easy to figure out. We had a perfect day, the weather was in the low 80s in mid-August and everything went smoothly. And our photos came out perfect!!! Thank you Appleford Estate for naming our wedding dream come true! I see our anniversary dinner there next year!!!

I had my wedding at Appleford on 8/13/22. From the day I stepped foot on the appleford grounds for a tour, I knew I had to have my wedding there. The gardens are stunning, unique, perfect for pictures, and there is so much space for guests to explore and admire. The inside of the estate is as beautiful as the outside with a spacious bridal suite, grooms lounge, and plenty of space for guests to come inside and take a break from the heat or rain if needed. Working with Lisa from Appleford was amazing as well! She was so prompt with answering questions , very welcoming, and it truly felt like she was there to make sure our wedding was the best day of our lives. Appleford worked so well with our vendors to make sure we were all on the same page and that things would run smoothly. I canât recommend this beautiful venue enough!

When your wedding vision so thoroughly matches the actual event, you know you have selected the perfect venue! Appleford may have been at the peak of its beauty in mid-May and the absolutely perfect weather enabled our guests to enjoy the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception amid the spacious grounds bursting with blooms, and well appointed with adequate places to mingle, sit, and/or stay socially distant as Covid was unfortunately still a very real concern. When your wedding vision so thoroughly matches the actual event, you know you have selected the perfect venue! Appleford may have been at the peak of its beauty in mid-May and the absolutely perfect weather enabled our guests to enjoy the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception amid the spacious grounds bursting with blooms, and well appointed with adequate places to mingle, sit, and/or stay socially distant as Covid was unfortunately still a very real concern. Quick backstory, my wife and I were in the midst of determining whether we wanted to postpone our wedding for a second time or make it incredibly small in order to have it at our original venue (this was the beginning of 2020). While doing so, we reached out to some outdoor venues to see their availability and how many people they would be able to accommodate. Appleford was one of these venues and Lisa responded the same night with their availability and safety plan. The following day, we tentatively picked a new date for our wedding and scheduled a trip out to Appleford to visit. From the moment we stepped onto the estate we knew we had made the right choice. Itâs a beautiful oasis situated right in Lower Merion Township. The grounds are vast and include a garden, a greenhouse, and a beautiful little river where we held our ceremony. The house itself is beautiful and spacious and we were able to use the patio for our reception and the rooms inside to get ready/chill in. It is an exceptionally beautiful spot that we were incredibly happy to choose and lucky to secure the date. And Lisa McBride, who was our contact for Appleford, was just incredible. She was responsive, often responding to emails at 6:00 am, and flexible. We felt comfortable and safe working with her which after the year we had had, was something we valued. She knew our caterers, was able to work with our baker, and worked seamlessly with our coordinator.Honestly, we could not have had a more beautiful and seamless wedding and this was due in large part to Appleford Estate and Lisa. Highly recommend!

Our guests are still swooning over how beautiful the grounds were, and we could not thank Lisa enough for her support during our postponement and all of my requests. I love chandeliers and taper candles, and working together with our florist and Lisa was open to entertaining our design ideas for inside the tent. This was the best garden venue I could find in the tri-state area that provided an even more romantic rain plan. Lisa McBride is truly one of the kindest, sweetest, most professional planners in the industry. She met with Tyler and I on a rainy day at the very end of March, just about three months before our wedding, to walk through the grounds of our new venue. We were grumpy and discouraged, but even through in the pouring rain, she made us feel warm and excited all over again. Our day was perfection, and we have Lisa and the team at Appleford to thank for that. If you are contemplating hosting your big day at Appleford, do it. Do not look back. Run, don't walk to these people. You will not be disappointed. Blown away by my experience with Lisa at Appleford. I had first learned about Appleford from my cousin. She raved about Appleford, and how amazing and magical it was. At the time it was Feb 2020 when we got engaged, and I didn't add it to my list because I thought I wanted a big ballroom wedding, then the global pandemic happened. I switched gears and started to research outdoor venues. I remembered Appleford, and decided \"what the heck - I'll make an appointment\" Low and behold, it was the best decision I ever made! When we arrived we had drove past the driveway at first, not expecting it to be tucked away in a residential neighborhood. Once we turned into the correct driveway, I immediately fell in love with the venue. I loved the long winding driveway that leads you to a very large parking lot. Once we parked and walked up to meet Lisa under the tent, I couldn't believe that this venue was here all along. I had never heard of it, or been to a wedding here (we have lived in the area all of our lives). It truly is a hidden gem. We had a fantastic meeting with Lisa and was impressed with her from the start. Not only was she extremely responsive to e-mails and answering all my questions ahead of time, meeting her in person sealed the deal. We immediately locked in a date less than 9 months from the time we had our first meeting! Start to finish Lisa was wonderful. We selected Sage Catering as our preferred catering vendor, and can't say enough good things about them. It rained on our wedding day, and we had to have our ceremony under the tent. I was very bummed about this because all I wanted was that outdoor Appledord ceremony by the waterfall with the greenery as the backdrop to really show the guests the main reason we fell in love with Appleford! The tented ceremony turned out to be lovely and more intimate. The backdrop was still the beautiful grounds of Appleford. The food, drinks, and entertainment were spectacular. I am so thankful we decided to book an appointment to visit Appleford, and I'm so sorry I ever thought to rule it out in the first place without taking the time to visit and learn about the historical site and all that Appleford has to offer! Thank you Lisa, you were wonderful to work with and made our wedding day one we will cherish forever - I wish we could do it again one more time!

A beautiful estate with many different settings (formal gardens, waterfall, lawn, roses, etc) provided a beautiful backdrop for our COVID-era outdoor wedding. Lisa was so wonderful to work with......very responsive, patient, and so helpful with all the details. The tented terrace, stone manor home, and outdoor patios make for a magical setting for those looking for a 100% outdoor wedding option. All of our guests loved the venue and it helped to make it a perfect day.

I knew I wanted to have my wedding at Appleford the second I drove up the long tree lined driveway. My husband and I were looking for a beautiful outdoor venue with trees and a natural setting to have both our ceremony and reception. Appleford had this, beautiful gardens, and an amazing estate house with an interesting history. We amazingly had a bright sunny day for our wedding and were able to be married in front of the new Willow Tree (both my husband and my favorite tree)! The director, Lori was easy to work with and promptly responded to all my questions. She also knew several of the vendors that we had, which made it easy to trust everything would run smoothly. Beyond the beautiful natural setting, the tented terrace looked magical with hanging bistro lighting and perfectly complemented our gorgeous flowers. I think my favorite areas were the garden area where the outdoor bar and cocktail hour was held and the bridal suite. There was plenty of space for guests to wander around and feel comfortable. I highly recommend Appleford!

Appleford was absolutely stunning for our wedding day. The staff were also super helpful in allowing us to come the day before to drop off items, and even met us to let us into the kitchen so we could store some drinks in the fridge. My only small problem was that we were supposed to have a venue attendant the day of the wedding to help direct guests when then arrived. They may have been there somewhere, but I never actually met anybody, and a huge chunk of our guests ended up wandering around and into the area where we were taking pictures instead of in the ceremony space. Other than that, it was amazing- I continue to get comments on how beautiful it was 2 months later.

Appleford was absolutely stunning for our wedding day. Appleford was the perfect setting for our garden wedding on May 25th, 2018. It was the first and only venue we went to because we knew it was exactly what we were looking for as soon as we saw it. It was a gorgeous day, the gardens were in bloom and everything felt perfect on a warm May afternoon. The old estate house was a beautiful setting for some photos and the getting the last touches ready with our bridal party. We had our ceremony on the lawn adjacent to the house and then a cocktail hour in the gardens around the tent. Everything was set up beautifully and our guests loved the charm of the venue. The tented terrace area for the reception was great, fans kept air flowing and everything cool for dinner and dancing - plenty of room for our 100ish guests. The gardens were set up with cocktail tables and chairs so the guests could enjoy the outdoors and our bar and charcuterie/cheese table. We also set up games (cornhold, ladderball, etc.) in the rose garden which was lovely. If you're looking for an all in one garden inspired venue with indoor/outdoor space, definitely look into this place! Keep in mind it is on the more pricey side as far as venues go, but we used a few of their preferred vendors (Serock Catering, Silversound Djs) which helped us in narrowing our selections for those important decisions. I would definitely recommend Appleford if you're interested in a more unique space that isn't a hotel ballroom or a space with a working business (golf course, museum, etc.) It was private and gorgeous - exactly what we wanted!

Laurie was our contact person at Appleford and she was extremely accommodating. The space was in tip top shape for our big day. We couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out!

It's amazing and unique, gorgeous and accommodating, spacious and historically beautiful. When we booked Appleford, from the first moment, I was so excited to share it with our family and friends. It's nothing like I had ever seen and I knew they all would love it. And they did!! I truly believe that the magic and ambiance of the place added that much more to our special day! We received so many compliments about the grounds, the house and the decor. It was perfect. What I especially loved about Appleford was that we really didn't have to do that much work to 'decorate' for the wedding. Appleford was the first venue we toured, and we knew right away that it would be hard to beat. This property is absolutely gorgeousâit truly feels like a green oasis, which is exactly what we were looking for. The event flows nicely from one area to the next, and each space is a little different. The house itself is beautiful too, with charming turn-of-the-century styling. Even though there are a number of rules you need to follow at Appleford, overall this is a pretty flexible venue and none of their limitations (end time at 10 PM, noise restrictions, etc.) got in the way of us throwing an incredible party. The only real drawback we experienced was the limited amount of time youâre able to be at the venue before the ceremony begins, which is a maximum of two hours (and only if you pay a little extra). This doesnât leave a lot of time for photos and you need to get ready offsite. Other than that, everything about our experience at Appleford was fantastic. Laurie was easy to work with throughout the planning process, and the day-of staff was wonderful. If youâre considering this venue, itâs definitely worth the trip to check it out. It is such a beautiful backdrop, and our guests raved about the location all weekend. Highly recommended!

As soon as my husband and I saw Appleford, we knew we wanted to have our wedding ceremony and reception there! The gardens are so beautiful--everywhere you look the views are breathtaking and gorgeous. Appleford was an amazing venue to have our wedding at. What I liked most about Appleford what that the guests didn't have to be on the dance floor/ in the reception room all night. They could be in the house enjoying the fire, out on the dance floor, or in the gardens. It is able to appeal to all ages (my niece that was 7 had an amazing time as did my great aunts and uncles.) My brother also performed a tap dance in the middle of the reception and everyone at Appleford was very willing to work with him to make it happen. All in all we had a great day and Appleford was the perfect back drop for us.

I cannot speak highly enough of Appleford and the venue's Executive Director, Laurie. The venue is unbelievably private, and it's definitely a plus that only one event is held per day. We wanted an indoor/outdoor wedding, and the flow of the grounds, tented patio, and house allowed our guest to move freely around the venue. If you're looking for an elegant, garden-style venue it's definitely worth visting.

Appleford is such a beautiful location - cocktail hour outside and dinner under the tent. The grounds are gorgeous and make for beautiful wedding party/couple pictures. Unfortunately, it rained for my wedding, but cocktail hour and pictures inside the house were still great. Laurie was very easy to work with. There are some specific rules you need to follow (volume of DJ, some decorations you can't have) but all are very reasonable in order to keep the house/grounds looking nice and considering it is located in a residential neighborhood. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth the money!\r

Appleford is the perfect wedding venue. The grounds are absolutely perfect for pictures and the tent is the most romantic setting for a reception. \r\rAll of our guests raved about the venue! We were luckily blessed with a beautiful spring day, so cocktail hour was held outside. It was really a dream come true. \r\rThe only downside was the cost. It is one of the more expensive rental fees for venues in the main line area - and it doesn't include anything besides tables.

My fiance and I had looked at venues all over the PA area before falling in love with Appleford. We knew immediately it was the place for our upscale rustic wedding. You do have to work off of their approved vendor list for caterers and music, but that wasn't a problem for us. In fact,t hey have open houses where caterers can come and showcase their food which is super nice. I have never heard of that happening anywhere else. The grounds are gorgeous and kept very nice. The bridal sweet is a huge plus, and there are so many great photo locations through the grounds. Unfortunately, the service is a bit \"abrupt\" at times. The woman who runs everything just doesn't have the warm, welcoming demeanor that you want during your wedding process. In fact, she argued with me on the night of my wedding, telling me that I got the hours wrong that I had booked the venue for and had run over my time. This was not the case and she eventually emailed me an apology. But come on, who in their right mind would yell at a bride the night of her wedding? Even if I had messed up (which I hadn't), you wait until the following day and then settle the matter. It was a pointless and rude comment that would normally have put a damper on my night but luckily not even she could pull me down from cloud 9 that day. Seriously though, use your common sense. Oh it is also super pricey!!!

Appleford is gorgeous! However, when we met with the woman in charge and when she discovered that we were looking at having around 275 guests- she began to ignore me, my parents, and my then fiance. She told me Appleford could hold no more than 225. We still wanted a tour of the grounds and she hesitated on doing that. If she was more helpful, I might have lessened my guest count, but due to her ignorance I would not have considered it.

Lisa McBride (Director of Marketing) Appleford's Lisa McBride comes to Appleford with a wealth of experience. Previously, Lisa was the Director of Marketing of The King of Prussia Court & Plaza, an Events Coordinator for Very Special Events, and most recently a successful Realtor for Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach on the Main Line.
