Armature Works Reviews
Ryan Andrews(other)2 out of 5 Rating
Overall, our experience at Armature Works was a mixed bag. While we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Theater, we were gravely disappointed with the setup for our ceremony. The Theater itself was absolutely beautiful, impressively done, and the attention to detail was excellent. We appreciated the thought put into the lighting, layout, chairs, tables, and decor. It created a memorable atmosphere that we will cherish. However, the setup for our ceremony left much to be desired. Despite understanding that the rain was beyond anyone's control, we were surprised and let down by the lack of thoughtfulness and organization in the contingency plan. The room felt hastily put together, as if it was the first time a wedding had been held there. The curtain hanging behind us at the altar was particularly underwhelming, resembling something more suited for a bathroom rather than an elegant wedding venue (it was disgusting). It detracted from the overall ambiance and aesthetic we had hoped for. These aspects of the ceremony will be imprinted on us as lasting memories. We expected a perfect and memorable experience, but instead, we were disappointed and even felt embarrassed. It was disheartening that my bride, in particular, couldn't emotionally connect with me at the altar due to the surroundings. While we acknowledge that the venue cannot control the weather, we had higher expectations given Armature Works' reputation as a classy venue for weddings. The reality of our ceremony experience fell far short of what we paid for and what we envisioned (and the staff made zero attempt to compensate us after the fact, despite our request). In conclusion, Armature Works provided a beautiful experience at the Theater, but the ceremony setup and lack of organization were major drawbacks. The underwhelming curtain at the altar added to our disappointment, and the overall lack of thoughtfulness left us feeling disconnected from the moment. We hope that this feedback can be used constructively to improve contingency plans and ensure that future couples have a more seamless and emotionally resonant experience on their special day. Lena Anthony(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-09-2022 Being Tampa natives and frequently being at armature works enjoying summer evenings and walks around the river walk - Armature works was from the jump first on our list! Samantha and her team were nothing but a dream to work with and although we did get rained in on the rooftop I still have no complaints of our special day!! Reviewed on 23-11-2022
Ronee Krestan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-05-2021 My husband and I originally were leaning towards to typical Florida beach wedding venue. During our decision and discussion process we would bring our dog to Armature works, grab a drink, and sit on the Adirondack chairs. That’s when we decided AW is an actually representation of things we love about Tampa. Even with Covid and some employee turn over, everything turned out perfect. I’m not sure if it was AW actively reaching out or if it was our incredibly amazing wedding planner (Chantilly Chic), but everything turned out perfect. We had our cocktail hour in the outdoor courtyard the beginning of May and everyone was comfortable and enjoyed some outdoor time, then the giant garage door opened to let us into the Gathering. We were able to see the shock and awe factor because of this. My husband and I stood at the doors to welcome everyone in and get more face time without having to run around table to table later on. The AC was kept nice and cool, everyone loved how gorgeous the space was with the expose brick, high ceilings, circular chandlers, giant TV screens with our special design, and the up lighting.AW does such a good job of sharing our favorite aspects of table, we love that we were able to share all of these things with our family and friends. The staff was very friendly and were constantly accommodating my couple whenever they had a request. For those the love the downtown vibe and desire that for their wedding I highly recommend this venue location! Claire Boyle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-11-2020 We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Rooftop 220 and it was perfect in every way!! The staff at Armature Works is amazing and they were so great to work with. When we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID, they were the only vendor that gave us a full refund without any questions! That spoke volumes to us, because they really cared about their couples and less about the profits that they would lose out on by postponing. We of course couldn't imagine having our rehearsal dinner anywhere else though and re-booked Rooftop 220 for Halloween. The venue is stunning and the location is amazing. We loved having an indoor/outdoor space and having the view over Armature Works and the water. The catering companies that they work with are the best of the best in Tampa. We had Puff N Stuff cater our dinner and everything was AMAZING!!! And because our dinner was on Halloween, both the Armature Works staff and Puff N Stuff got into the Halloween spirit with their Halloween masks and decor, it was amazing and so creative!! Everyone is still talking about our 'witches brew' (soup) that we had in little cauldrons. It was all so fun! I highly recommend Rooftop 220!! Reviewed on 14-11-2020
Alexandria Lirag(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-08-2020 The location and construction of Armature Works is beautiful and you'd be hard pressed to find a nother location like it in Tampa. Unfortunately, we did end up cancelling our wedding reception due to covid, so we didn't get to have our big day there. But Sarah and Olivia were wonderful to work with and were quick to respond to emails and calls. I would reccommend this venue to anyone, especially those who don't live in the area. Having almost everything available under one roof is a time and stress saver! Reviewed on 10-08-2020
Audra Banaszak(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2019 Armature Works is such a beautiful venue and there’s definitely a “cool” factor that you don’t get at a lot of other places. We loved that every part of our wedding could be held onsite, but in different locations to give a change of scenery. We had our ceremony in the Social Hall, cocktail hour in the Courtyard, and reception in the Theatre upstairs. And there’s so many other beautiful spots on site to take advantage of with photos! We worked with Olivia as our Venue Coordinator, and she was fantastic! She was so easy to work with and helped answer every little question that we had pop up through the planning process. During our wedding weekend, she also went out of her way to accommodate some of our requests, such as letting our wedding party see the reception space during our rehearsal, and allowing us to do our first look in the Rooftop 220 space. The other Armature Works staff that were there on the day of our wedding were all so friendly and really made our wedding an enjoyable experience for us and our guests! Reviewed on 17-10-2019
Nichole Hudson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-01-2019 Olivia was a dream to work with. We booked them as our ceremony and reception venue before construction on the property was even complete, which can be nerve racking, but our team was so amazing they took the nerves out of the process completely! It poured rain on our wedding day, so we weren't able to utilize the courtyard for cocktail hour like we hoped but the social room ended up being a beautiful backup space. Armature Works seriously has it all. The property is amazing as is but it's still growing and we were even able to use one of the amazing restaurants inside as our rehearsal brunch location. I highly recommend hiring AW as your venue! Reviewed on 02-05-2019
Jade Bouza(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-12-2018 Thank you Olivia and your team! Olivia was AMAZING to work with, so easy to communicate with, and she let me meet with her and tour the venue MULTIPLE times over the year. I was a total spaz, and she never made me feel guilty about wanting to see the space again. She even created a chart & layout for me that helped envision everything. We chose to do our ceremony and cocktail hour at Rooftop 220, and the reception in the Theater. Since starting the process, they made a few changes as they were working through the kinks of their first year. Our wedding was perfect and all of our guests loved the venue. Olivia, you are wonderful, and I hope Armature Works knows how fortunate they are to have a coordinator like yourself representing their brand through all the challenges the venue faced over the past year. Mary del Cueto(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-12-2018 We booked the Armature Works gathering room about 1 week after getting engaged! Although it wasnt fully built yet, we could tell that it was going to be a special venue. Throughout the process Olivia helped make sure our day was very special. We felt like the pricing was fair. I really liked how you can order linens and upgraded tables underneath their name. I wanted to have as few vendors as possible to keep things organized, and they really understood that and helped us make the best out of it. A week or 2 before the wedding we realized that their annual christmas tree lighting would be at the same time on the same day as our reception cocktail hour. Armature Works went above and beyond to accomodate our guests to make sure that there were no issues with parking or unwanted guests at the reception. The Gathering room was absolutely gorgeous! The high ceilings and exposed brick were stunning and with my flowers, the room looked better than i could have ever imagined. Thank you to all bartenders, coordinators, cleaning staff, etc! Most importantly thank you to Olivia the wedding coordinator at Armature Works. Together we created the perfect night to start our marriage! Reviewed on 26-12-2018
Taylor Devine(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-12-2018 Nothing short of amazing! We worked with Olivia and she was highly responsive and accommodating. We met with Olivia on several occasions to go over everything and make sure the staff was aware how we wanted the day to flow. I loved that AW took care of F&B, had staff to escort guests and handled chairs, tables, etc. The space is beautiful and hardly needs to be decorated. We toured 10 venues and AW out bet everyone on pricing. We booked before the space was finished and we are so happy we took the chance - it turned out beautiful! Reviewed on 21-12-2018
Clarissa Blanco(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2018 We had a great experience working with the Armature Works to plan our wedding & it turned out perfect. The packages make the planning less complex and gives you more time to enjoy the tastings and picking out the fun stuff, like food and colors. Everyone we worked with was courteous and professional, understood how crazy wedding planning can be and made us feel like they genuinely wanted to make our event a success. Communication was timely & professional. Coordination with other vendors was seamless. And on the day of, everything went without a hitch. And if there was a hitch, us and our guests didn't notice. The Rooftop 220 space provided a gorgeous view and the \"Theatre\" room was a perfect fit for our 97 person reception. Thank you, Armature Works, for the beautiful space and fantastic wedding day. Meghan Rose(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-11-2017 Do not book this venue until construction is complete!!! We were supposed to have our wedding there 11/17/17 until we found out it would not be finished less then 30 days before our already booked date! We asked numerous times for construction timelines that we were never provided. They would say “oh it’s even hard for us to keep up with it” or “it’s always changing.” They will fill you with false promises! I wouldn’t recommend using their services at all if this is how they run a business. They were still “willing” to host our wedding without any landscaping and an unfinished building. Since when does a dirt lot look good with a white wedding dress. The other frustration was the only way I could contact anyone was via email although i had placed numerous phone calls. If you don’t want wedding planning to be stressful avoid this venue! The only reason I rated this venue 1 star was because i had to in order to post this review! Reviewed on 12-12-2017
