With roots dating back to the 1940s, this authentic, 100-year-old Ash & Oak Weddings provides a timeless & affordable wedding barn just outside of Indianapolis, IN. Facilities and Capacity Surrounded by countryside scenery, Ash & Oak offers two different options for your nuptials; a wedding outside on the expansive property or inside the beautiful handcrafted Amish barn. This not only brings choices to the table, but also guarantees that the wedding won't be stifled by unpredictable weather. The venue can accommodate up to 225 guests at tables. Ash & Oak is a "turnkey" venue which means almost everything you need fo the venue is included: 225 white outdoor chairs, 225 white indoor chairs, 25 tables, linens, draperies, centerpieces, setup, tear down and clean up are all included! Wedding Date 10-12-2021
The owner of the wedding barn was extremely outgoing and eager to help us with anything we needed. She met with us in person 3-4 times before the wedding day. They do conduct an open house every year to let you look around and answer questions. The barn was rustic and charming! They shuttle your guests from the parking lot to the barn for your event. That was helpful for our guests that couldnât easily get around. They also have a liquor license. It was nice to step back and let them handle it. I would recommend them for a wedding or any other type of event!

Ash and oak was beautiful and was the place of our dreams for our wedding day. Everyone helped so much and made the whole experience wonderful. They had everything we needed for the day. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Very nice people and everyone was great for planning sessions and the day of. They changed the DJ and the name of place while in planning stages but everything still worked out we just had to post on FB about the name change.

Wedding Date 03-09-2022
Wedding coordinator was horrible. She was 30 minutes late to the second meeting and forgot that she had it. She then went over the same things and told us the same stories which led to a disastrous day of the wedding. She then chewed out the bar staff in front of the father of the bride and was then rude to him. Poor communication and forgetfulness. We had set up our rehearsal dinner for 6 pm in December of 2021. Reiterated that we wanted it at 6 in March when we came back for our 2nd meeting and she still scheduled another wedding rehearsal at the same time. She called the groom by the wrong name. Overall Barbarann and all her promises left us feeling like we got ripped off. My daughter wished she didnât do her wedding because of all of the problems and screw ups that Barbarann promised her she would not know anything about. She is very disappointed which makes the parents upset because this is supposed to be the most perfect and magical day.

I want to start off by saying my wedding day was awesome and the venue is beautiful. I had several issues however throughout the planning process. They offer dj services through them so during our planning meeting I mentioned that I would be interested and also sent text messages/literal phone conversations that I was wanting to pursue that. It was never mentioned how much it would cost or that a contract needed to be initiatedâŠuntil my rehearsal dinner the night before. It was $500 fee for the dj to show up right before my wedding and get an attitude with my maid of honor also I made my whole playlist so Iâm not sure what I paid for. I was doing a weekday wedding and apparently you get a discount in exchange for no time to decorate before your wedding. I found all this information out at my rehearsal dinner that I was not allowed to get my hair and makeup done at the venue because I only was able to use it for 5 hours. Communication was not clear about expectations and it just had me stressing the night before not to mention having to find extra money to pay for more time and this DJ fee. I give credit that they waived the âextra timeâ fee and begrudgingly gave me extra time during the rehearsal dinner to decorate. If you go through this venue take more initiative to get things in writing so you know what youâre getting.

Everyone working with the Wedding Barn was so helpful throughout our planning process. The bones of the venue are very pretty and the overall aesthetic is well executed. However the ownership/team of the venue will create a ton of challenges. They recently went through a change in the venues coordinating role, leaving the organizing to an individual who cares more about their ideas than that of the bride. I was brought in to coordinate last minute due to this change because the bride, groom, and both families were extremely concerned to leave it in the hands of the venues team. The main individual will talk over you in all your meetings, turn every conversation into something about themselves, claim they know best in every situation resulting in an environment where the brides wishes are not heard. There were multiple other vendors working the same wedding who stated they normally refuse to work events at the venue due to the ownership/management. There were multiple instances during the event where they attempted to go over my head and change things opposite of the brides wishes. As an experienced wedding planner and coordinater I have never worked in such a toxic environment and will definitely stay away from the Avon Wedding Barn from here on out.

The barn went above and beyond our expectations. They worked through every step with us. We hired their bar services for beverages and it was amazing. They created a special drink for both of us and made sure our guests were well taken care of. Barbarann and Tammy made sure that every single detail was perfect with decorations and placements. That barn is already magical but when you walk in and the decorations are out together itâs just a little more special. 1. The staff was amazing to work with. On our wedding day they were attentive and had a positive energy. Easy to communicate as I was planning. Darinda makes sure things get done. Very professional.2. The barn itself is gorgeous and I did not have to add any decor (but they allow it if you want).3. Ceremony was gorgeous under the tree.4. Dj was great. We had a blast playing yard games than moving to the dance floor.

She made our day the best it could possibly have ever been! Not to mention, the barn is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! She also accommodated multiple handicapped people for us and made it so easy for us to have all our loved ones present for the momentous occasion!!!!!!! We had our perfect day on October 21, 2017. The day went so smoothly. We had the barn booked for about 2 years so the planning process was long but throughout it all Tammy and Darinda were very helpful and accommodating with their advice and willingness to help. We got to enjoy ourselves and our guests which was great! It truly was the best day of our lives!

This wedding venue is beautiful and the decorator/sales manager did a phenomenal job. We were, however, unimpressed with the owner's attitude towards us and the people helping us with our wedding. She discussed payment with my now husband the day of our wedding (about an hour before the ceremony), was rude to my pastor, family, and bridal party. She was bossy and unappreciative of our family's help and did not defend us when we had difficulty with a vendor they recommended. Like I said, it was a beautiful place to get married, not everything was bad, we were just not treated well by the owner and that's not something you want on your wedding day.

My husband and I are SO thankful that we booked our ceremony and reception with Avon Wedding Barn! Our wedding was on a Friday so we were able to set up most of our decor and have our rehearsal on the night before our wedding. It was perfect! On our first visit to the barn we were walked all over the property and shown all of the unique places to have our ceremony. We chose a spot underneath a big beautiful tree and Darinda, the owner, hung adorable bird cages/lanterns in the tree for us. She also helped us decorate inside of the barn with her own ideas and decorations, which gave the barn the perfect touch I was hoping for. Darinda is spectacular and willing to help with anything and everything. She made me feel very special on our big day. Everything about the barn, our ceremony, reception, photographer (Firm Grip Photography) and DJ (Kurt Streblow) was everything I have ever dreamt of! I HIGHLY recommend this property and everyone who works with Avon Wedding Barn.
