Premier Outdoor Wedding Venue in Skaneateles, NY
Aster Estates Weddings & Events is a wedding venue situated just four miles from the heart of Skaneateles Village, NY. With space for 130 guests, Aster Weddings and Events is an ideal venue for your medium or small wedding. The venue is comprised of a custom wood deck and landscaped grounds nestled among dreamily lit mature native trees. Among the lush landscape and trees, people can gather on custom-built benches to watch the ceremony unfold. As you exchange vows with the love of your life, lights will twinkle and wink from the surrounding trees and usher in a romantic ambiance. Your reception will then be hosted on the custom herring-bone deck underneath a gorgeous sail cloth, high peak pole tent. Throughout the night, you can sit out under the starry sky and enjoy cocktails and canapés with your closest loved ones. Rental of Aster Estates comes with a number of amenities that will make your wedding convenient and stress-free. These include ceremony seating, an altar, high top tables for the cocktail hour, a custom bar, farmhouse tables for the reception, and Tolix chairs. Lighting and a dance floor are also available so that your guests can celebrate late into the night. Heather is the new owner of Aster (now Aster Estates) and I cannot speak highly enough of her. I did not worry about a thing on the day of my wedding. Moving up to the wedding, she helped us consider every detail, even things we would not have even thought of (will the caterer bring water? How to fold napkins?). She said up and moved all the little details. She even overnighted our bridal bouquet to the city after we left it there. Also very lgbtq friendly.

Heather is the new owner of Aster (now Aster Estates) and I cannot speak highly enough of her. I did not worry about a thing on the day of my wedding. My husband and I got married at Aster this past August of 2023. The ownership of the property changed a few months before our wedding which scared us but it ended up being a seamless transition. Heather & John were so accommodating and receptive to our ideas. They worked hard to make sure things went exactly as we envisioned. Even when the weather forecast was predicting thunderstorms (and a tornado watch the morning of!), they reassured us that everything would work out fine and it did. The property itself is gorgeous and provided the perfect backdrop to our fun, summery wedding. We were originally worried that it might feel a bit cramped but the platform deck with the sailcloth tent is beautiful and spacious enough that we were able to fit 125 guests and an 8-piece band with ease. We also had guests playing lawn games and hanging out in the cocktail area all night. I can't say enough about the new ownership, they really went above and beyond to make our day great. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the property is and what an amazing wedding we had there. 10/10 recommend!

I LOVED this venue so much! It's beautiful and a blank slate to let your creativity run wild. We had a Harry Potter theme, and it was so easy to keep decor minimal and elegant because the space itself is just so beautiful. Definitely recommend a fall wedding here, the leaves falling on the tent and in the ceremony area gave it all such a nice touch. The owners were very friendly and helpful when needed. They also helped with set up and tear down. Wish I could relive my wedding over and over!

If I could rate higher I would! Aster is an absolutely beautiful spot to get married and pictures doesn’t do it justice especially seeing it at night is extra special. Shannon made sure our day ran as smooth as possible and it was absolutely perfect! The vendors they recommended were amazing and made it perfect! A perfect spot if you’re looking for an affordable outdoors/rustic setting.

If you’re looking for a location that has a cozy/wooded feel, or you want a highly professional and accommodating team, you will find everything and more with Shannon and her team at Aster. From the start, communication with Shannon was open and easy. She helped us plan a run down of the day and eased nerves when we felt like we had no idea what we were doing. Our day of coordination went so seamlessly that I still question how everything came together so perfectly! Planning and paying for a wedding can be extremely stressful but Aster’s venue is very affordable and truly one of a kind in its cozy feels and kind staff.My husband and I couldn’t have been happier with our day and know that we found a real gem when it came to this spot. We had the PERFECT wedding at Aster Wedding and Events. The venue is stunning, from the lovely ceremony area to the beautiful tent and very clean bathrooms. All our guests still love to remind us just how fun and beautiful everything was. The Communication was very easy and they always made sure to answer my questions and even offererd to give me a call whenever I had more. We had the PERFECT wedding at Aster Wedding and Events. The venue is stunning, from the lovely ceremony area to the beautiful tent and very clean bathrooms. All our guests still love to remind us just how fun and beautiful everything was. We truly could not have picked a more perfect place to get married. This venue is so beautiful! Shannon is super nice and so helpful. We decided to have her as our day of coordinator as well and we didn't have to worry about a thing! Our guests kept talking about how amazing this place was and that if they were to get married in the future or renew vows they would want to do it here! There's plenty of venues in the finger lakes area but this one is really special.

We couldn't have asked for anything better than Aster Weddings and Events for our wedding venue. The owners, Shannon and Jess along with their husbands, have built the dream outdoor wedding venue. The venue is surrounded by beautiful greenery, trees, flowers, and even planters with luscious hops. The grounds are treated for insects, so bugs in August were really not a concern or problem for us. Given all of the greenery and nature, we needed very little decorations or flowers from our florist because the venue itself is just so naturally beautiful and well maintained. The owners have literally thought of everything, from having ceremony seating, reception seating and tables (so you don't have to rent them), to a beautiful bar, classy and clean bathrooms, and even a S'mores bar and firepit (available for an additional fee).The process of planning our wedding with Aster was seamless and honestly enjoyable. Shannon, our wedding coordinator, made everything so easy, fun and beautiful for us. Their sense of style is clearly portrayed through photos on their website and my wife and I definitely felt comfortable letting Shannon style and put final touches on everything (and we couldn't have done it better ourselves, it was honestly breathtaking). Our guests raved about the location, and we really enjoyed having the ceremony and reception places so close and complementing of each other. Our photographers enjoyed the landscaping and were able to capture some really amazing photos. We were able to get photos during sunset in a private area within the venue, and once the sun went down the string lighting throughout the bar area and in the tent made our night an absolute dream.I cannot say enough about Shannon and the team at Aster. They made everything seem so flawless, which helped us to really enjoy our wedding day with very little worry of the what ifs because we knew Shannon was behind the scenes taking care of everything. She worked with the vendors to coordinate the night, so that we really weren't bothered much and could enjoy the entire night. Prior to the wedding Shannon was in contact and met with us for timeline information, and specifics for our decorations, vendors, etc. If you're on the fence about Aster, it is a MUST see venue. When we visited, we immediately knew that their elegant style was what we were looking for, and we wouldn't have done it any other way. We are forever thankful for Shannon and that we chose Aster!

Without hesitation I say that this is the spot! Aster is a dream - a lush green space with a big whimsical tent & lights that make the whole place sparkle. The venue is beautiful and requires little (if any!) additional decor to make it shine. I heard only praise from my guests about the layout, amenities, and design. If you book here, I highly recommend working with Shannon as your day-of coordinator. She goes above and beyond to make planning streamlined, setup easy, and all day-of worries & requests dialed in. Our event was made phenomenal by Shannon's thoughtful attention to detail, and we're so glad we added on this service.

What an amazing venue. The most beautiful place for a wedding! Jess and Steven went above and beyond for us!! We were truly lucky to have Jess and Steven there on our wedding day. Jess was also our day of coordinator and she answered any and all questions I had. She decorated the venue for us, and I’m so glad she did, she made everything magical! We can’t recommend Aster enough! They will do everything to make sure your day is perfect and your happy!

I want to start by saying the venue is beautiful it is everything I imagined and wanted it to be! I was admittedly nervous about having to set up and tear down on the same day, but it all worked out well! We had lots of help from our family and wedding party which made it a breeze. I am only giving 4 stars however for some things that I found unprofessional. While the guys were setting up the husband was assisting them, Shannon however was showing the venue to a couple. Personally I feel like her attention should have been on us. The thing that irritated me the most was after the last guest had gotten their plate of food, she went up and helped herself to 2 HEAPING plates of food, leaving very small amounts of some items left. Now I had to give my caterer a guest count and I paid for that food for my GUESTS. If she had asked me if she could have had some I would have said yes, but the fact that she felt entitled to it and took well beyond a portion really bothered me.

This venue was amazing! Jess and Steven were so helpful, flexible, and generous with their time. It rained the whole day and all of our guests remained dry and it was so beautiful under the tent. I would recommend them to anyone!

We could not be more happy with our choice to have Aster host our wedding. From the very beginning of the process Shannon was incredible. She always took the time to answer our questions and we just knew that we could trust her to bring our vision for our wedding to life. She offered her guidance whenever we needed it. She is so professional and kind, responsive and creative. Her cool, calm, and collected demeanor is the exact energy you want to be surrounded by on your wedding day as wedding jitters are definitely a thing! She made us feel as ease from start to finish. Aster itself is a BEAUTIFUL venue. Our wedding was only about 40 people and the space was perfect for an intimate gathering. It would also be awesome for bigger weddings - being versatile like that is just one of the many appealing things of the venue. We loved how Aster offered fun add-ons like a s'mores bonfire (huge hit at our wedding!), and connected you with awesome vendors throughout the area. If you are looking to get married in Skaneateles, look no further than Aster!!

Our 9/18/2021 wedding was a literal dream come true—and that was largely in part because of this magical venue. First of all, fully obsessed with Jess & Steve. The best part of this venue is what a blank canvas it is—we brought 5 huge bins of decor to make all of my moody, vintage boho dreams come true. We hung framed photos all over the bordering fence and Jess went above & beyond in measured THE SPACES IN BETWEEN THE SLATS for me so we could ensure the frames could be hung. Like what! That's just one example of how great they are. Not to mention the intimate, romantic, beautiful space they've curated & poured so much love into. Something truly charmed about this place! Can't recommend it enough.

Aster can be found tucked away in the hillside of Skaneateles. It is a quaint and unique venue with so much to offer. The versatility of the space allowed us to be a creative as we wanted with table set up, decor and outside vendor placement. Aster does a great job of providing a vendor list on their website. This allowed me to choose vendors that knew the space and had already previously worked with Aster staffing. Jessica and Steven, who are part owner and operators of Aster, were hands down the best part of the Aster experience. Jessica was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had as my big day approached. Steven worked tirelessly the day of my wedding to ensure set up was perfect and everything ran smoothly through the night. When it came to feedback we received from our friends and family so many people were amazed at what Aster had to offer and a couple of our friends decided to look into Aster for their future weddings. I would highly recommend Aster to anyone looking to have a stress free, unique and perfect wedding day. I loved my experience and honestly don’t have a single negative thing to say.

Aster can be found tucked away in the hillside of Skaneateles. It is a quaint and unique venue with so much to offer. The versatility of the space allowed us to be a creative as we wanted with table set up, decor and outside vendor placement. Aster does a great job of providing a vendor list on their website. This allowed me to choose vendors that knew the space and had already previously worked with Aster staffing. Jessica and Steven, who are part owner and operators of Aster, were hands down the best part of the Aster experience. I cannot recommend this venue enough! It is a beautiful setting with a relaxed vibe that was perfect for our day. The venue itself is decoration enough! Everything is even more beautiful in person. The owners are amazingly helpful and very invested in helping in anyway possible. I planned the wedding from Arizona and they were so helpful with the issues that arise from distance! They helped not only with the venue but vendors and everything. They were around throughout the night to check in and make sure everything was running smoothly. We rented all the heaters (which ended up being smart as it was chilly but they made it perfect under the tent) and the owner was constantly checking them and making sure they were working right. If you want your wedding to be set in a beautiful location and have helpful people constantly making sure your day is everything you want this is the venue for you!

Carolyn and I visited with Shannon Memorial Day weekend 2018, when the grounds were freshly cleared to begin their visionary venue construction. While I am not a creative person, Carolyn knew instantly that Aster was the spot for her. She believed in the vision and concepts that Shannon and Jess were planning. Fast forward to the second week of Sept. 2018 - Carolyn and I were in town with two friends and managed to stop by Aster to see how things had progressed, knowing they had just started hosting weddings. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was the one blown away and couldn't stop looking around in awe of what Aster had turned into. \"This place turned out better than I could have imagined\" came out of my mouth numerous times after that visit. The deck, the tent, the benches, the fire pit, the bathrooms, the walkway, the owners, everything is first class and accommodating at Aster. Jump to this past weekend we were once again, peppering Shannon and Jess with questions and last minute tasks (can we bring our families by early, can we do photos early, what if the weather is bad, will the heaters heat the tent enough, and on and on). They were simply amazing - their patience (or maybe it was tolerance of us, hahaha) and focus on ensuring we had a day to remember was out of this world. From cleaning the deck after the vendors set up, helping guests park, checking on us from time to time, supplying the best s'more materials and handling clean up, there was no amount of service and care they weren't willing to provide to ensure we were happy and as stress free as possible! I agree with Nichole M in a previous post - this place is going to blow up quickly, so book your event with them today and enjoy the beautiful setting and ambiance Aster offers in the wonderful Upstate NY/Finger Lakes area. We held our wedding at Aster on 9/14/2018. I’ve been taking forever to write this review because I simply can’t find the words to express how much love my husband and I have for this place and the family who created it. For the full story of how we came to book Aster before it was built, plus all the ways we love them since, please read ahead. But in case you are skimming reviews and don’t have time for my long story, let me just start by saying this: this venue is going to blow up. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue with all of the amenities you can think of, and endless potential for whatever your vision may be, book Aster as soon as possible. You will not regret it, I promise. Aster is the perfect blend of rustic, modern and timeless. It’s gorgeous and comfortable and the owners are endlessly kind and accommodating. I only wish we could go back and do it all over again. My husband and I were engaged for almost 8 years before finally following through with planning our wedding. I had started the process a handful of times over the years, but I was never able to find a venue locally that felt like it fit us and was affordable. And then, after all those years, I stumbled upon Aster on Instagram. Back then, Aster was merely a vision and some blueprints. I had a good feeling about it, though. I loved Shannon’s inspirations and the idea of this lovely family working together to build something so special, literally from the ground up. I’m not a risk-taker normally, but after meeting with Shannon, John and I were excited to roll the dice and hope for the best. I cannot not express how happy we are that we took that chance. Our wedding was everything we were hoping for and more. The woodsy setting of this venue is enchanting, while the deck and high-peak pole tent will keep your guests comfortable whether it’s hot and sunny, chilly or raining. The bathrooms are modern and gorgeous. The lights strung throughout the trees and beneath the tent create perfect ambiance after sunset. The deck and bathrooms are accessible for people with mobility issues. Every detail of this place has been carefully thought out and perfectly executed, and it’s only going to keep getting better over time. All of our guests and vendors commented on how amazing and unique our venue was. Shannon and her family are kind, professional, responsive and always willing to help and offer guidance, which I really appreciated. We held our wedding at Aster on 9/14/2018. I’ve been taking forever to write this review because I simply can’t find the words to express how much love my husband and I have for this place and the family who created it. For the full story of how we came to book Aster before it was built, plus all the ways we love them since, please read ahead. But in case you are skimming reviews and don’t have time for my long story, let me just start by saying this: this venue is going to blow up. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue with all of the amenities you can think of, and endless potential for whatever your vision may be, book Aster as soon as possible. You will not regret it, I promise. Aster is the perfect blend of rustic, modern and timeless. It’s gorgeous and comfortable and the owners are endlessly kind and accommodating. I only wish we could go back and do it all over again. My husband and I were engaged for almost 8 years before finally following through with planning our wedding. I had started the process a handful of times over the years, but I was never able to find a venue locally that felt like it fit us and was affordable. And then, after all those years, I stumbled upon Aster on Instagram. Back then, Aster was merely a vision and some blueprints. I had a good feeling about it, though. I loved Shannon’s inspirations and the idea of this lovely family working together to build something so special, literally from the ground up. I’m not a risk-taker normally, but after meeting with Shannon, John and I were excited to roll the dice and hope for the best. I cannot not express how happy we are that we took that chance. Our wedding was everything we were hoping for and more. The woodsy setting of this venue is enchanting, while the deck and high-peak pole tent will keep your guests comfortable whether it’s hot and sunny, chilly or raining. The bathrooms are modern and gorgeous. The lights strung throughout the trees and beneath the tent create perfect ambiance after sunset. The deck and bathrooms are accessible for people with mobility issues. Every detail of this place has been carefully thought out and perfectly executed, and it’s only going to keep getting better over time. All of our guests and vendors commented on how amazing and unique our venue was. Shannon and her family are kind, professional, responsive and always willing to help and offer guidance, which I really appreciated. They made my family feel at home and went above and beyond to make our dream day a reality. I would book them again in a heartbeat. We really can’t say enough how grateful we are to Aster. First time we saw Aster we knew it was the one for us. The options it has to offer are beautiful as well as the atmosphere surrounding. The Beautiful grass/trees and workmanship of the Amenities are absolutely stunning. Shannon and Jess are amazing people to work with and made the choice that much easier for us. Very well accommodating to make it the exact way we’d like to celebrate our special day. We cannot wait!

The nature, the open air, all the amenities made it so versatile to enjoy the food, the gelato bar, the photo booth, the beer and wine bar, the great band and dancing under the huge tent with all the beautiful lights. Couldn't have asked for more and the pictures are to die for! Loved it all!

Shannon & Jess are the sweetest ever! Both are so creative and imaginative when it comes to their space! I am so excited to see the finished product when their venue is completed because all of their inspiration looks so promising! With their creativity I know this venue will be amazing and unlike any other in our area. My favorite thing about them is their willingness to be custom to what their couple are looking for. Many venues nowadays are exclusive to certain vendors / options, but here you have the ability to be different! BUT the best thing is, they are phenomenal to work with. Their communication is exceptional and very accommodating to their peers. I cannot wait to film here and work with them more!

Shannon Pratten and Jess Nagy (Owner) Sisters, Shannon Pratten and Jessica Nagy are owners of the new venue, along with their partners. Just a few years apart, but the same at heart, these two women are a strong partnership. They spent many years apart traveling and living in great cities such as Austin, San Francisco, Honolulu, Portland and London, but have found themselves in awe with Skaneateles and the community. They have similar taste and style with the same goal in mind, to provide a naturally elegant event space as beautiful as Skaneateles and surrounding areas, for the ultimate outdoor experience in upstate New York.
