Vivian and all of the tea room staff were excellent to work with for our wedding! The service was amazing (especially the wedding attendants), and the food was delicious. I have a ton of dietary restrictions, and they were able to come up with a menu that accommodated a wide range of dietary needs, without compromising on flavor. The venue and reception spaces were also gorgeous! If we had to do it all over again, we would choose the Audubon Tea Room every time! Reviewed on 13-12-2023

Jamie Maldonado(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2022 My husband and I had our dream wedding a few months ago at Audubon Tea Room. Everything was so beautiful, it was like a fairy tale dream come true. I always knew I wanted to get married at Tea Room ever since my sister had her reception there about 7 years ago. I saw how organized they were to make sure everything goes as planned for your special night. We had the pleasure of working with Perry and she is so amazing!! We would talk on the phone, email back and forth, and meet in person for tastings and consults. She was extremely professional and caring. We always felt like her top priority and that she was going to do everything in her power to make sure our reception went smoothly. And it really did. We had the best time. Kennedy was our attendant and she was the sweetest! We can’t thank Audubon Tea Room enough! They will always have a special place in our hearts. Reviewed on 07-06-2022

She was always available to talk when we were overwhelmed with decisions. Kennedy was assigned to my husband and I the night of the reception and she was outstanding as well. Niki Rychlik(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-01-2022 I cannot say enough how AMAZING the team at the Audubon Tea Room is!!! Choosing this venue for our wedding was the best decision we could’ve ever made! Vivian was our coordinator and she was WONDERFUL! She worked absolutely above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our January wedding went smoothly. She met with us to develop a vision of our perfect day and then worked tirelessly to ensure that vision came to fruition. The chefs offered incredible menu options for us, including an oyster bar, enormous charcuterie table, and a variety of classic New Orleans dishes. They also worked very hard to ensure that my Nut allergy was completely accommodated, and adapted the menu to fit our needs. My bridal attendant was PHENOMENAL as well! She was attentive, and helped me discreetly bustle my dress on the dance floor several times as the weight of the train proved heavier than expected. My husband and I were never without a drink, she was always there asking if we needed a glass of champagne, water, piece of cake, anything we could want. Lastly, the venue itself was STUNNING!!!!! The courtyard was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. The lush greenery and patio immediately transport you to a fairy tale garden. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the team at the Audubon Tea Room! Thank you again to Vivian, Perry, and everyone there who helped turn our dream wedding into a reality!!! She offered suggestions and relevant feedback but was never pushy and kept my mind at ease throughout the entire process. She was thorough and flexible, I don't think the process could have gone smoother. Our assigned attendant on the wedding day was also amazing, she was super personable and didn't skip a beat the entire night. Naomi Petersen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-12-2021 The Audubon Tea Room is the hands-down best place to get married in New Orleans. They made the difficulty of planning and replanning (and replanning) our wedding as much of a breeze as is possible. And I can't imagine a better wedding planning partner than Perry! She knew everything there is to know, and her instincts are spot on--probably because she's THE expert you want working on a large event. Her attention to detail was unparalleled, and she rolled with the punches with good humor. Because of Audubon, this wedding was everything we wanted it to be and more. They went above and beyond. And I'd be terribly remiss if I didn't specifically say how DELICIOUS the food all was (and I was raised in New Orleans, I know what I'm talking about). The fried oysters in particular were divine, my mouth waters when I think about them! The most unexpectedly welcome and necessary benefit that Audubon offered was a bridal attendant, who made sure that my husband and I never had an empty glass of water or champagne or whatever we wanted (snowballs in December? Hell yes when it's 78 degress out). Amanda also made sure we were well fed (a rareity at your own wedding, I'm told), and guided us through the timeline for the evening seamlessly. Audubon thinks of EVERYTHING. You will have a truly fabulous time if you choose them for your wedding venue. I'm gonna be cheesy, but there's a reason that when you go on down to the Audubon Zoo, they all ask for you. (It's because they're THAT GOOD.) Reviewed on 07-01-2022

She's so organized, understands what works best in the space, and works with you to make your vision come to life. The day of the event, everything went off without a hitch due to the planning ahead of time. Our coordinators, Kori and Patsy, were beyond amazing. They anticipated our needs before we even thought of them. Our families also raved about them. The space itself is magical. Everyone complimented how tasty the food was, how beautiful the space was, and how easy everything flowed together. Jenifer Halpern(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2019 After looking at many other venues for her wedding, I am so very glad my daughter chose the Audubon Tea Room. This location is the best of the best. The food, the service, the planning, and the attention to detail that went into making a perfect night for my daughter and her groom was a complete success. Michelle Borchard and her staff were incredible. They were all very professional and very much seemed to like what they were doing. They were all so happy and so very helpful. They were all extremely attentive to the bride and groom, and to me too. Every time I needed something, I would turn around and an attendant would be right there ready to help. Many, many times throughout the evening they would approach me asking if I needed anything, drinks, more food. They were all incredible. I loved the fact the bride and groom were allowed to have a romantic dinner alone in the Queen’s Room without any interruptions. When they were finished their dinner, they joined their guests out on the dance floor and enjoyed the rest of their evening dancing and celebrating. My daughter wanted to have her bridal pictures taken on the Carousel. It was very cold that night, so the Audubon staff drove the group to the Carousel rather than making them walk there. Everyone at the Audubon Tea Room bent over backwards to accommodate all of us and made sure we were all happy and enjoying ourselves. The food was absolutely delicious. The preparation and service was phenomenal. All of the food and drink tables were manned by professionals who looked like they were having fun too. I do have to say that a large number of the guests there that night have very discerning tastes in food and all of them voiced the same opinion that the food was exceptional. I would definitely, no doubt about it, recommend The Audubon Tea Room. I truly cannot think of anything that I would complain about. Everyone who worked there that night tried their best to make this a memorable and most comfortable night for all of us. They all succeeded!I thank all of you! Reviewed on 18-11-2019

Amber Stalcup(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-04-2019 My experience with Audubon could not have been better! From planning to the actual wedding day, the staff exceeded my expectations. Michelle was my contact, and she was quick to answer any questions we had throughout the process. It was VERY reassuring to have someone like her to guide us through everything. I tend to get pretty stressed out over planning big events, and she was such a great help. She understood what we wanted and didn't want, and made sure everyone else understood as well. I can't say enough good things about her. The location itself was gorgeous. We had our ceremony outside the Tea Room, and the reception inside. It was right next to the zoo, so there were the typical random people outside the fence, but they didn't bother us at all. Parking was great--we had a designated section of the lot just for our guests. Much more convenient than anywhere else in the city where you have to park on the street, or park a mile away. The food at our wedding was FANTASTIC. Get the meat pies. Seriously. I try to eat as little meat as possible, but I couldn't resist those things. The staff included servers, bartenders, and an attendant for my husband and I. They were lovely, and made sure that we were fed, hydrated, and having fun while trying to greet all of our guests. The Queen's Room was a lifesaver, for when we needed to get away for a few minutes. Michelle and the entire Tea Room staff made our wedding a complete success! Everyone I talked to was impressed with the location, service, and food. I recommend them 100%. Audubon might be on the pricier side of the scale, but you really do get what you pay for! Danica Nguyen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-01-2019 The Audubon Tea Room was a dream! I am a New Orleans native but moved to Texas and Kelley made the planning process go so smoothly. Since most of our guests were out of town, I wanted a venue with plenty of parking access, and wanted an open concept venue. Having a gluten and dairy sensitivity, the kitchen did a good job accommodating my food sensitivities as well as a few of my guests. I had a sit down dinner, so one con is that I couldn’t taste a lot of the dinner options since their tastings more feature the hor d’oeurves but the food turned out great! Kelley was so responsive, answering all my questions and minimizing my trips into town which I strongly appreciated. The venue itself is beautiful on it’s own - which worked for me since I wanted simplistic but classy decorations. The most impressive part of Audubon Tea Room is it’s staff. They made sure our wedding reception went smoothly and it did. Our attendant for the night was Kennedy and she was amazing! Everyone tells me there’s always something that goes wrong during a wedding, but we didn’t really have any major issues at all! The staff kept us on time, fed, and always made sure our glass was filled! We were simply amazed at how the staff executed on our wedding day! The Tea Room was sized perfectly for the amount of guests we had and I love the interior and the gardens. We worked with Michelle prior to our wedding and she really made us feel at ease. She is professional, helped us with the menu to make sure we had the right amount of food and bars for the number of guests we were expecting. She also had suggestions for vendors and people she had worked with before. We went to a couple of tastings prior to our wedding - the food is amazing at the Tea Room! We went to our final meeting with Michelle a few weeks before our wedding to finalize all of the details - menu, number and location of bars, table count, everything. I listed out the items we would be bringing to the venue the day before the wedding - guest book, cake pulls, toasting flutes, favors, etc. - and EVERYTHING was handled for us. Such an easy process that we didn't have to stress about. We had the evening scheduled out with Michelle - time of arrival, first dances, cake cutting, etc. - so I knew what times things would be happening but I didn't have to worry about it at all. We had a bridal attendant who was absolutely amazing! She kept checking on us throughout the night, made sure we had a taste of all of the food, refilled our drinks, kept us on schedule - she was the perfect attendant! My husband and I were so impressed. The entire staff at the Tea Room was professional and kind - they stopped to tell us congratulations! I requested pictures at the carousel before the reception started and they made sure we got there and they carted us and the photographer and videographer back to the venue. Gina Baeg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2018 This location is beautiful (and quite unique) for a wedding. I had my first look in the garden, and the photos turned out amazing. The ceremony at the Hygeia Pond was so beautiful with the trees, and guests were amazing at the peacocks strutting around. Finally, the Tea Room was perfection. There is the Queen's room for the bride and groom to disappear into for a bite to eat or to sit down and enjoy the day. The staff was amazing, and it was clear to us that they really enjoyed being there which made all the difference. Leading up to the wedding was also a great experience. I was an out of town bride, so it was critical to have help and trust in my coordinator Kelley. She did a phenomenal job in guiding us and helping us. She asked all the right questions, and kept us organized on the day of. She also helped 'direct' the rehearsal, so everyone knew what to do. We had two bridal attendants during the reception that helped keep the events like cake cutting, bouquet toss, speeches, etc. on track. One last bright point, the food was so delicious. I got so many compliments (and frankly surprise) from my guests on how good the food was. The staff even set up a little tasting with candles in the queen's room so the groom and I could have a nice romantic and quiet bite before starting the reception festivities. The staff even packed all the leftovers for us, which got devoured. I highly recommend the Tea Room. Not only is the location beautiful (your pictures will be a dream), the planning is much easier with the experienced staff at Audubon. Reviewed on 20-07-2018

Our bridal attendant, Kori, tended to anything my husband and I needed and even made some football small talk. You found the way to his heart! I couldn't recommend this team enough. The venue itself is gorgeous. The different options for your ceremony and reception make it a versatile space that you can tailor to your preferences. The food - OMG. Megan Bates(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-07-2018 The Audubon Tea Room provided a perfect venue for my wedding reception. I've wanted to have my reception there since I was a little girl, and in April of 2018 that dream came true. The food was excellent, and we were able to select a vegan option that even my meat-loving husband enjoyed. (We had three important guests who were vegan/vegetarian.) The outdoor gardens were beautiful, and the blue uplighting provided the perfect mood. Our wedding planner was able to provide seating for 200 people (including outdoor seating) while still maintaining a large dance floor. The private bridal room and bathroom were also top notch. The only bit of trouble we had came when it was time to deliver the guest book and favors. The guard at the gate entrance leading to the offices we were told to go to wouldn't let my aunt through, and it took her a half hour to find someone at the zoo who could help her. It wasn't a big deal, though, and everything was still delivered on time. Overall, we had a seamless evening and were very happy with this venue! Reviewed on 25-04-2018

I can not say enough amazing things about Kelly and her team at the Tea Room. Planning a South Asian wedding is already a difficult task for any couple and their families. But when you add to the mix that the bride lives in Washington DC and 75% of the guests must travel in the city of New Orleans, it becomes a bit more difficult. Not to mention majority of the vendors are from Texas. Kelly and her team handle our weekend event with easy and perfection. My husband and I were unable to go down to New Orleans during the planning stages so my parents were the ones to tour the venue, Vivian has all the photos, diagrams and things we needed to be able to picture the space and how it would look as our wedding venue. The venue is awesome. The swamp exhibit has alligators, bears, cougars, raccoons, and snakes. My guests spent all night exploring the exhibits and partying. It was green and beautiful with lots of cajun flair. It is very cool venue for a wedding. We got to take pictures around the zoo before the event. It led to some very cool pictures of myself, my groom and bridal party! We had a bridal attendant to grab us drinks and food throughout the night which was great because it kept us talking and dancing with our guests! We were able to focus on each other and our guests without having to worry about the party part of it. Unfortunately it started to rain right before I was about to walk down the aisle but they quickly set things up inside and it was a seamless transition and Leslie made sure I didn’t have to worry about anything. They were also super accommodating about setting up the gift table, floral arrangements letting us eat before the ceremony and reception and letting us drop things off the day before so we didn’t have to bring anything the day of. We also did a Unity Cocktail during our ceremony which the bartender really helped us with and ended up tasting great! They really helped it all come together last minute inside. There is a bridal suite for you to freshen up in. The actual party was amazing! There is a ton of room for people to mingle and dance. The food is very good as well. My guests were raving about the fried artichokes, Audubon Pasta and roast beef. My guests loved the ride through the Zoo to the venue as well so from beginning to end it was the perfect night. I highly recommend the Audubon Zoo; Swamp Exhibit and Vivian, Leslie and their team for a destination wedding, they made it easy and gave us a wedding our guests will be talking about for a long time. Only complaint I had is that the Tea Room attendant who was supposed to be getting myself and my husband drinks all night was nowhere to be found, unless she was getting us for the cake cutting or bouquet toss. Lauren Cardon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-03-2016 Worth every penny! We looked at numerous venues throughout the city, but this one took our breath away. The Tea Room itself is magnificent architecturally and in its decor. We had our ceremony right outside in the garden under a clear tent with chandeliers and the tent flaps open, so we could see the gorgeous live oaks and nature surrounding us. We worked with Perry, who was outstanding––calm under pressure, quick with responses, flexible and understanding––and on our wedding day, we were assisted by Perry, Patsy, and Toinette. I felt like someone was always making sure I had food or a drink; if I needed someone to carry my train, she magically appeared.I cannot stress how beautiful this venue is, how delicious the food is (OMG seriously the best wedding food I've ever had), or what a pleasure it was to work with the staff there. People often say this venue is expensive because you have to pay a rental fee, but I still found it reasonable compared to most of the hotels. The a la carte menu is extremely flexible, and the bar packages are very reasonable. I would suggest being prepared to rent chairs or at least chair covers (we didn't like the ones available), but that shouldn't be a deal-breaker. Overall we couldn't be more pleased with this venue, the chef, or the staff. Reviewed on 17-03-2016
Alli Scardino(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-12-2015 Our wedding and reception were both held at the Louisiana Exhibit in the Cajun Ballroom December 26th. Our ceremony was outside on the deck over the alligator exhibit, we added patio string lights and lighted paper lanterns and the result was BEAUTIFUL. The food was AMAZING and we felt that the food and bar was a great value for our large wedding. They even allowed us to bring in special bourbon and champagne for us to drink. \rOur only issue was with the communication between the coordinator and attendants. There were several unfortunate circumstances that were beyond anyone's control resulting in a late switch of coordinators. Our coordinator, Christine was great and easy to work with but ended up being sick the day of our wedding leaving the bridal attendants (who we had never met) in charge for the reception. They did the best they could, but it would have been better to have Christine there. Our one small glitch was that the Zoo Trains bringing guests back were not coordinated very well resulting in one train of guests getting to the ceremony late. We would have held off on starting if we knew!\rOverall an AMAZING experience, everyone has told us how unique it was and what a great time they had. She was unprofessionally rude rolling her eyes, when asked where the ceremony was being held (it was out back and some guests needed guidance). She talked to everyone, as if they were children with a demanding tone. I understand that making a wedding go off without a hitch is a high stress job, but if you cannot handle the stress you should not work in that type of environment. When my daughter began planning her New Orleans wedding, her dad and I looked at many venues in the city. The Audubon Tea Room was by far the most outstanding. I am SO glad we made that decision. For 18 months, my daughter and I worked with Vivian Eppling. She arranged a tasting for us (parents and the bride and groom.) that was beyond compare. We were expecting small plates to taste. Instead, we were served several entrees, hors d'oeuvres and salads. Each was better than the last. We settled on two choices; one regular and one vegetarian. We wound up having these as well as a kosher meal and a gluten-free \roption. Vivian and the chef made sure all were equally delicious. The weekend of the wedding, which was to be held outdoors, torrential rains were predicted. At the rehearsal, we went through an outdoor option, as well as \"Plan B,\" which was to move everything indoors. On Saturday morning of the wedding, the rain chances had gone down to 30%. My daughter decided on the outdoor option. When we arrived at the Tea Room, the night of the wedding, it was magical looking. The ceremony went exactly according to plan, followed by a flawlessly served cocktail hour. When we went inside for dinner and dancing, the salads were already served, and from then on things went like clockwork. 194 people were always being taken care of. Several people commented on the fact that there was no lag time, between courses. The Tea Room provided more than enough servers, who were the creme de la creme in service. Throughout the night, the whole staff worked in concert to make sure everything was perfect. I would recommend this venue and working with Vivian Eppling to anyone who is looking for the perfect wedding. I can't imagine a more perfect venue! Reviewed on 05-12-2014

The room is absolutely beautiful at night, with the unique architecture and the big, gorgeous light fixtures. We actually had only seen it during the day before the wedding, and it already looked nice, but it is simply magical at night.\r\rVivian was a great coordinator, answering all of our questions and helping us come up with a custom menu for our budget. We attended a couple of food tastings beforehand to help decide what we wanted to offer. They have many options, including classic NOLA fare and many other cuisines. Our guests were raving about the food for weeks afterwards (my dad was not shy in admitting how many times he went up for jambalaya!) The catering team did a fantastic job as well. Several guests mentioned the great and friendly service they provided throughout the night. There was also a bridal attendant provided for us who made sure any problems were taken care of (even though there were none). From the moment we pulled up in our limo, she was outside with drinks in her hands for us, and made sure our glasses were full all night! (After a long wedding day, this was AMAZING.) I really can't say enough good about this venue--the enchanting atmosphere and the incredible service provided by the coordinator and catering team made our night perfect. Reviewed on 14-11-2014
Wendy Jung(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2014 My husband and I are big fans of the Audubon Institute. We got engaged at Audubon Park, and only thought it was fitting that we got married there as well. We are such animal lovers, and really appreciate the fact that the proceeds from our wedding go back to support the institute and the animals. \r\rWe got married in the Oak Grove and held the reception at the Clubhouse. If you want a nice, quaint little New Orleans wedding, definitely check out the Clubhouse. It is conveniently located, has plenty of free parking, and accessible by street car. We took a gamble planning the wedding outdoors (luckily the weather cooperated), but getting married in the oak grove was so beautiful, with the old live oaks with spanish moss draped in the background.\r\rOne of the best parts of being an Audubon Bride is that they provide you with a personal attendant for you and your groom. Someone is there to hold your dress, get you food and drinks, etc. I was not used to being pampered in this way. Sonya and Nikki were the BEST bridal attendants! They were such pros, always one step ahead, making sure our needs were met and that things went smoothly. I really appreciated that they made sure we ate. (If they hadn't have made us, we really wouldn't have gotten to.) Also, our 15 year old beagle was the ring bearer at our ceremony. In the commotion of everything, I looked over and saw Nikki giving our dog some water. I was so touched that she even made sure that our dog's needs were met! She really went above and beyond!\r\rMany of my guests also said that the service was excellent. One of my guests has a dairy allergy. I was told that staff went out of their way to accommodate him, double checking with the chef to see what was dairy-free. They even brought out a plate of catfish for him, to make sure he had enough to eat.\r\rMy event coordinator was Bernadette. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with providing wedding planning tips. I enjoyed working with her but the only slight minus I would have to comment about is that she showed up late to a couple of meetings that we had. Another thing to note is during the ceremony my groom was a bit annoyed that there was a golfer playing in the background of our wedding. He found this very distracting. Luckily, the golfer didn't really interfere with the wedding photos. For future reference, if you book the Oak Grove for your ceremony during dusk hours, just be aware that this could possibly happen.\r\rThere are so many little details about how Audubon have exceeded my expectations, I could go on and on about. Like getting ice for my mother-in-law for her sprained ankle, packing leftovers for our families and us, boxing up our cake, etc. I've been told by many of my guests that this was one of the best weddings they've been to. Bernadette Walker with the Audubon Events staff was overwhelmingly helpful. She gave me a list of vendors that had worked with them before as well as a pricing sheet for what they provide at the park. There was NO PRESSURE to do our catering through them, but that is what we did. \rShe made it so all I had to do was make the choices, and she was very understanding when I changed my mind several times. \rOur ceremony was at the Newman Bandstand at the park and then our reception was held at the Audubon Clubhouse(very close to the bandstand). It was BEAUTIFUL. We had our ceremony at 6:30 and our reception went from 7-10pm. We had to be out of the space by 10 since it is in a residential area. We then took our party to the French Quarter, so we didn't feel like the reception was too short.\rThe seating at the clubhouse is really up to you and how many guests you have. Bernadette did provide me with a floor plan, but when I wanted to make changes, she accommodated me without any problem.\rThe clubhouse has a wrap-around porch where guests sat, as well as lounge seating and other tables out on two patios by the old trees, strewn with Spanish moss. They lit votive candles at all of the tables and the trees were lit to provide ambient lighting. It was absolutely perfect. I could not have been happier with the location.\rThe food was fantastic, though my groom and I didn't get to eat much, everyone else loved it. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went perfectly. They even made a special liquor run to make sure my groom had his drink of choice! They provide the bride with an attendant, and Nikki, my attendant was the greatest gift I had that day. She made sure we ate, had a full drink, and she made sure that my groom and I didn't cross paths before the ceremony. I don't know what I would have done without her.\rThe price for everything for 100 guests was perfect for our budget; with the total cost of the ceremony site, reception site, food, and drink under $8,000.\rIf you are looking for a stress-free, romantic, elegant wedding, then the Audubon Park is the perfect destination for you. Patsy was my bridal attendant and she was on top of everything, with a nice and helpful demeanor. The menu was my #1 focus for the entire wedding, and they were flexible with me so I could include some of my Dad's recipes/choices (he is a chef). Everyone raved and raved about the food -- especially the crawfish pasta. The reception was at the Cajun ballroom and Bayou Swamp Exhibit. You can't start setting up and decorating until 5 p.m., after the zoo itself is closed, and they won't start receptions until 5 p.m. That's a hard rule for them. However, they helped setup, were very efficient and attentive. They provide a personal assistant for the bride and groom to get them whatever they need -- food, drinks, towels, etc. -- although our assistant sort of clashed with our actual wedding planner a bit. The staff was super friendly to my groom and I during the party. The only thing I really had an issue with was communication. In the months leading up to the wedding, our contact, Bernadette, was difficult to get in touch with. She would take forever to respond to emails and calls, and I didn't have a direct phone number for her (although I think my planner did). They didn't get us an updated menu to choose from until just two weeks before the event, and their prices had gone up on both food and the bar. Michelle Eagle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2012 I am just floored by how amazing and coordinated everything was. Through the entire planning process, they were with me every step of the way. Here is some info for all you brides trying to figure out the logistics of your wedding. First of all, the reception venue and catering is what costs the most in a wedding. My wedding reception at the Tea Room was on a Friday from noon to 4. Because it was on a Friday during the day, it only cost me $1000 to rent the facility. For a Friday event, they have a $2000 minimum on food and drinks. Since I had 180+ guests, I easily exceeded that. Since I wanted to stick to my budget, I did not choose a set menu. Instead I did \"a la carte\" and chose items such that food was $27 per adult (children are half price or special kids menu is available). I had New Orleans style chicken and potatoes, New Orleans style BBQ shrimp, two pastas, fruit, green beans, chicken fingers, two crawfish molds, cheesecakes, and tortes. The molds, cheesecakes, and tortes were per cake rather than per person so that helped cut costs. We had an open bar for 3 hours, and then coffee punch the last hour. There are cheaper prices for children who consume non-alcoholic beverages. The Tea Room was very good about reminding guests when the open bar would end, and the guests barely noticed the last hour had no alcohol since they were already satisfied with alcohol :) Just to note, the Tea Room does not do cash bars. They do allow outside caterers but at an additional cost of $8 per person (to pay the fee for using their kitchen). My total cost for food and drink was ~$12,000 (remember this is for ~200 people). The Tea Room easily accommodated all our guests with 20 ten-seater 66\" round tables arranged in four rows of five. The food was served buffet style with two food stations and two bars (one was a double). They provided one bartender for every 75 guests (at no additional charge). They also provided all the tables, chairs, and linens. The chairs were brown ballroom style chairs (not really in our color scheme, but no one noticed). We had a photobooth at the front next to the DJ and the dance floor. There was a candy bar, a memory table, and a beautiful large marble table for the wedding cake at the entrance. Take a look at some pictures of the Tea Room and you will fall in love! It is absolutely beautiful and has so much natural lighting! Now to rave about all the crew at the Tea Room. They all pitched in to help set up table runners, table settings, and light candles since my wedding planner was running late. We had a second line planned through the zoo (it was AWESOME) and it rained the day of the wedding. My event coordinator Denise walked the route and noted where all the puddles were beforehand so we could avoid them. As soon as I stepped out of the limo, they introduced me to Cheryl (an absolute angel and hard worker) who attended to my husband and I throughout the wedding (she also attended to my handicapped father). She was amazing and I was so thankful to have her (when I spilled food on my dress, she scrubbed it with club soda for me). They communicated on walky talkies to stick to the schedule I laid out so that everything was organized for us. Lastly, the night before the reception, an 18-wheeler clipped the entrance of the Tea Room. A construction crew had it completely repaired in time for our reception at noon. WOW!!! I can not say enough good things about the Tea Room and its crew! Reviewed on 07-07-2012

Alison Johnson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2011 The scenery was just beautiful and their catering has several green initiatives. Would use it all over again! Reviewed on 03-11-2011
Janine Moreau(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2011 The staff and our wedding coordinator thru Audubon, Perry, were all awesome during the planning and on the day-of coordination. Perry is extremely organized and we didn’t have a wedding planner so Perry filled the void. The food was EXCELLENT and the chef was so accommodating and used my husband’s crawsfish monica recipe instead of his own. I would give the Tea Room an A++. Reviewed on 03-11-2011

christina belk(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-10-2011 The Audubon Nature Institute has been th setting of my dream wedding since I was a child. I never imagined I would actually get married there. Yes, it was a little on the expensive side, but nothing compares to its beauty. Im am so happy I got the oppurtunity to spend our whole special day there, ceremony and reception. They also have an amazing staff. If you have this chance, you should certainly take it! Lauren Berner(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-05-2011 We had our 80+ person wedding in May 2011 at the Audubon Clubhouse. Overall we were very happy. In the beginning we had a bit of a problem with the coordinator, but she greatly redeemed herself. The food was great, the service was terrific. Reviewed on 20-06-2011
Theanette Holmes(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-07-2010 My husband and I got married at the aquarium last year. We loved the idea of having the entire aquarium for both ceremony and reception and open bars set up throughout the location so that guests could tour the entire aaquarium. It was a great location and our wedding guests are still talking about what an amazing wedding it was and rallying for us to get married every year because they had so much fun. The coordinator I was given was amazing, very patient, understanding, professional, and knowledgable. We really bonded right away. The food was impeccable I did two free tastings and left full and incredibly delighted each time. I was born and raised in New Orleans and am very picky about my gumbo and seafood I promise this is some of the best I tasted. Plus the service provided is incredible. Well trained servers that treat you and your guests like gold!! The only reason I only gave four stars is because for a reception of our size(we had 175 guests)the space was kind of small. i was worried about that and told it would work out fine but it was a bit cramped and the \"dance floor\" area was undefined so many guests never got up to dance. Also because we started late we were kind of rushed through the night. But other than that I loved my wedding. The ceremony was absolutely perfect and beautiful!!I am so happy I didn't choose a traditonal/boring vendor because we created a night we and our guests will never forget!!!!! Reviewed on 14-06-2011

Allyson Vaughn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-02-2011 I loved the Audubon Tea Room! It made for a beautiful and classic New Orleans setting! They have a private room for the wedding party, which is great for the bride to change or just sit down and rest for a minute. The wedding attendant is amazing and is so attentive to every detail of the night. Reviewed on 28-02-2011

Colette Jensen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2010 My wedding was so much fun. We had the ceremony in the Oak Grove in front of the clubhouse and the reception at the clubhouse. All the staff were very professional and super helpful, with everything from keeping things on schedule to always having a fresh glass of wine for me. The wedding was 3 weeks ago and I'm still getting emails and texts about how much fun everyone had. If there is only one bad thing to say is that is wasn't long enough. Reviewed on 27-10-2010
