I arrived early for a family memberâs wedding reception at this venue. Even though I was the only guest to have arrived, I found the staff friendly and accommodating. I was impressed by the attention to detail I witnessed during their final preparations. Even to the table settings and how far the chairs were to be from the table. Reviewed on 09-01-2024

Oh, my! I cannot express what a delight it was to work with Shelby and her staff! She went above and beyond in every aspect. The wedding reception was beautiful with the snow outside. Such a pretty view. The customer service is excellent. We never had to ask twice for anything we needed. The staff was on site the entire event. The owner even stopped by to check on our event. This event space is a hidden gem, and the staff made it a perfect day! (Photos to follow on an update to this review) Reviewed on 08-01-2024

I had an amazing experience day of at Avent Orangery. I loved how the ceremony space, cocktail hour and reception were all separate. And I received non-stop compliments on how beautiful it was. the photos are unreal. I was worried the reception space would be too hot, but as the sun set it was the perfect temperature. Everyone on their team was extremely nice and accommodating. here were the small issues we dealt with: 1. the MOBs room was canceled for some reason. she had no room, but the hotel saved an extra room in case there were any issues and comped it for her due to the inconvenience. While there was no explanation for the issue, they handled it well. 2. there was a TON of bees around the hotel and venue. My coordinator and a guest were both stung. the hotel really needs to get that under control. 3. communication prior to my wedding date was really not great. i had to ask to receive an invoice to pay them, and my questions were only answered after many follow-ups. If you're persistent, it will be okay, but communication wasn't the best. Day of, it was great! I am giving 5 stars because I would absolutely get married here again, just some minor improvements they can make overall. Reviewed on 20-12-2023

This venue is gorgeous, but the managing staff at both Avent & its sister hotel Chateau Avalon were so bad that I wouldn't choose this venue again. We learned a few months before our wedding that they had booked out our wedding suite to other guests. Our coordinator called the hotel to resolve it & spoke to Sara (hotel manager), who recognized that they had booked out our room & said that their plan was to contact the people they'd double-booked a week prior & tell them that there was a maintenance issue & they had to be moved to another room. Our coordinator confirmed this a month before the wedding. It struck me as shady- why not just tell the other guests that you accidentally booked out someone's wedding suite?- but if we were gonna get the room we booked, okay I guess. So we were obviously upset when we showed up Friday & learned that other people were already in the room. The general manager Kristy clearly caught wind that we were not happy & was immediately up in arms when she came to talk to us. She was visibly annoyed that I was asking for an explanation of how this happened. Turns out it wasn't even just one reservation booked over ours- there were multiple- and Kristy said she personally was unwilling to move even the guests who hadn't checked in yet to other rooms.Later talking to Sara, she said that the issue was 100% the fault of Shelby Beaumont, Avent's venue director, who she accused of booking out rooms & not communicating that to the hotel. Sara also said they were not apologizing to us bc they were being \"disrespected\" (they were not). (Btw this is the same Sara my coordinator had been talking to before the wedding.)This is about the end of what I was aware of on the wedding day, so everything below I learned after the fact, but it's all been verified by multiple people.Apparently right after the ceremony, Sara pulled my coordinator & MoH aside and told them that shortly before the ceremony, \"a bride and her mom\" had broken into the bridal suite and screamed at the teenage guests staying there. She said the teenager's mom wanted to press charges & that she (Sara) was about to call the cops to have me arrested. During my wedding.Obviously, my mom & I did *not* break into the bridal suite and/or yell at any teenagers. When I learned about this the next day, my very first response was \"let's pull the tapes!\" But conveniently they don't have cameras in that hallway.Another thing I learned after the wedding is that Sara was shit-talking me so openly that my friends heard her. My favorite was, \"Crazy bitch, she needs to be medicated.\" đNow I have to talk about Shelby Beaumont, the venue director. She seemed very nice at our 30-day out meeting. But as soon as Kristy told us on Friday that we could not have the wedding suite & that we needed to talk to Shelby about it, she ignored every single call she got from us for 2 days. I don't think she was even at the wedding. I don't know who finally managed to talk to her, but I learned that she claimed she emailed me a month ago that our wedding suite was not available. (I did not get an email.)Despite what appears to be a deliberate attempt to ruin our wedding, they did not succeed and it was a beautiful day. That being said, it's sad that we spent the first few days after our wedding having to think about the astonishing lengths they were willing to go to ruin our wedding, apparently in retaliation of our (valid, imo) complaints.Highly recommend avoiding. This venue is absolutely stunning. Not only did we book the venue but we rented out the entire hotel. We were told that only one other person has done this before. You would think that we would get top tier communication since we were paying so much and giving such great business. The original coordinator that we booked with told us a ton of things that just weren't true, probably to get the sale. At some point she either quit or was let go but they never told me my contact had changed. It took several unanswered messages until I just called the hotel. We set up meeting with my new contact Shelby. The meeting went well so I felt better about everything. I was just sold more lies. Shelby was to quick to answer follow up questions and the hotel manager had to answer some or call Shelby out in emails to answer me. We paid an extra $1100 for AC (even though we were told i was included originally). The AC was supposed to be on in the morning before we started setup at 11am so that it was cooled off in there. Not only was the AC not turned on but not a single chair or table had been placed in the venue. My mother in law, mom, aunts, & wedding coordinator were running around to get things set up and looking for tales and chairs. My approved layout was provided in advance and spoken bout in person with Shelby. Shelby was THREE HOURS late. Her poor assistant was trying the best she could and said Shelby wasn't responding to any messages. She didn't know how to work the AC so it was 80+ outside and eve worse inside the greenhouse. Thank God I have great family and friends who stepped up and did the job we paid the venue to do. Having to set up the floorplan set the timeline back and my moms had to rush to get ready and couldn't enjoy the moment. They ensured that they were doing the flip of moving chairs from outside to inside but of course didn't. Selby showed up late AND LEFT EARLY. She was nowhere to be found after the ceremony. There were several tables with not enough chairs and people were literally standing at their tables. My groomsmen rushed over to move chairs after we took photos. They turned the AC off early and our elderly uncle almost passed out an the ambulance had to be called. The hotel didn't follow the room sheet I made and just gave anyone whatever room they wanted after several conversations of them understanding the document and them thanking me for \"making their lives easier\". Shelby's assistant was so fed up with how she was not supported that she put in her notice after my reception. She stayed to make sure my wedding went as good as it could, considering. I am so lucky I have such an amazing circle that stepped up and made the day so beautiful and amazing. The hotel elevator was broken and they didn't tell us anything in advance. Knowing that we had elderly/handicap guests that would have to use stairs to get to their rooms. When we asked why we weren't notified the clerk at the front desk said \"the owner is too cheap to fix it and we have known for a long time that it was broken.\" They had the wrong liquor at the bar and we paid for the more expensive option. The venue staff will just tell you what they need to get the sale. Make sure you have people in place to step up and have a plan B and C for whatever they promise. Reviewed on 18-09-2023

The space itself is gorgeous but the communication with the management team made every step of planning hard and extra stressful. We had things in our contract that they lost track of, they'd say something was available and then it wasn't, and every time we tried reaching out it took days for them to get back to us. The contract we signed was supposed to include a day of coordinator and they never booked them, so we ended up having to hire someone else 90 days out which was a scramble. On the day itself we had to pay $1,000 extra for AC, it had run out of gas from an event the day prior and it wasn't up and running until 3:30 for a 5 PM wedding. Our florals all wilted, our cake couldn't be finished by the baker at drop off and it was super hot. The hotel rooms we got ready in weren't turned over due to short staffing so my sister in law and aunt ended up cleaning what turned into the bridal suite themselves last minute. If you end up booking I can not recommend enough getting a wedding planner you really trust and have them do all the communications and keep track of everything your package comes with and then FOLLOW UP! Mallory Benortham(other)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2023 DO NOT BOOK HERE!! This was the venue of my dreams. It was perfect up until the day of. For starters our reserved parking spaces were covered so we were not able to park in them making bringing things into the hotel very difficult. The hotel manager who stated over and over again that she has nothing to do with the wedding side of things let us know that there was an event the night before and all the workers proceeded to then go out after the late party so they would be sleeping in before coming to work. One of the coordinators for A-Vent and who I had been working with up to my wedding day was no help at all. If I could redo it I would go with the other coordinator and not allow this one to be apart of my day. She was rude, belittling, and every time I looked at her constantly on her phone. I had called her a little after noon the day of because I assumed she was already at the venue and other vendors were asking where the coordinator for the space was and she sent me to voicemail then proceeded to call me back hours later. When walking into the reception space on the day of there was a large (ugly) white fireplace with a small (cheap looking) television on it. I kindly asked for it to be removed from the venue space because I had never seen it before and it was not going to go with our aesthetic at all. After asking the coordinator multiple times her only reply was âweâre working on itâ then one hour before my ceremony was supposed to start she let me know it could not be moved. When I asked her why and told her I should have been informed of changes in the space her response was âwell that did not happenâ AND THEN SHE SMILED. Long story short my DJ and family members moved it in and out of the space with no help from anyone working at A-Vent. The whole situation was very upsetting and the coordinator made it ten times worse. Our contract stated that curtains needed to be hung so when the sun was setting it wasnât blinding people. As the sun started setting I quickly realized there were not any curtains up therefore, you could not even look into the direction of the sun because it was so bright. When bringing this to one of the coordinators attention the only solution was to put up the curtains then and there while everyone was watching and it would look horrible. Upon checking out of the hotel the next morning we were charged for things that should have been with the wedding package. When I brought this to the attention of a hotel staffer all the front desk lady could say was âthis is what Miss. X saidâ and stating that she has nothing to do with the wedding venue. Overall the venue is so pretty but the workers are a complete mess. The hotel and the venue do not communicate at all leading to a lot of very confusing and frustrating situations. The contract is an even bigger mess. I had it looked over by a professional and they were appalled at how poorly it is written. Plus they did not even follow through and hold up their parts of it (I.e. the curtains, breakfast in bed). Overall it is so pretty and you really only have to deal with the employees for a few days but it makes your big day a little less perfect because of it.UPDATE: 6 months later we still did not receive our security deposit. We had to have a lawyer contact AVENT in order to get a check sent. They had so many reasons as to why it had not been refunded examples were that their portal was messed up, the owner has been out of town, etc. DO NOT BOOK HERE!! Reviewed on 30-04-2023

The venue looks great but all the contracts you sign, all the promises you are told are lies.I booked this space and got married in October itâs was the only part of my wedding that was an absolute nightmare. The owner is horrible to customers and employees. We had 5 different event coordinators over the span of a year, we signed an agreement to reserve the hotel as part of our wedding and the owner released our rooms to the public week of our wedding and when we arrived our bridal suite and all our guests room (out of town guests) reservations were erased and no vacant rooms. We were told so many things when signing the first contract that were not true and the owner threatened us on our wedding day that if we used the back patio like we were told we could he would call the cops.I am still considering taking legal action against this hotel and event space due to the way I was treated and the breach of multiple contracts. The drama of all this really overshadowed our wedding and I believe that was his intention after meeting him and realizing what kind of person I was dealing with.Save your money, save yourself from stress and agony on the most special day of your life. Kayla was there from the beginning to the end and she truly loves what she does! Alyssa joined in the mid-way through the wedding planning and she was also very helpful. We had lots of planning to do and they were very accommodating and easy to work with. Since this A-Vent Space is an empty canvas, we were worried about filling the space. However, their fairy lights and beautiful chandeliers made the place look more dreamy when it got darker. With the glass panels, trees outside by themselves make the venue look beautiful. One thing you have to consider is the fact that this is a glass pavilion. This means guests can see right through the glass and see the bride walk down to the venue. We had to discuss a way to cover up the center glass panel, which all worked out at the end!Nevertheless, this place is amazing and the people you work with are so kind as well. Highly recommend!!!
