My Dream Wedding Venue!!!I had my wedding at Bad Seed on Friday September 8th, 2023 and I could not be any happier I chose Bad Seed. Devin and his entire team are so incredibly kind and helpful and were all truly a pleasure to work with from the planning stages up until the day-of. I feel lucky I found Devin (the owner). I chose Bad Seed because of Devin's attitude and I knew I could feel good supporting Bad Seed as a company. We got so many glowing compliments about the physical venue space as well as the bartenders. We had our ceremony inside due to rain as our plan B and it was just as beautiful as the orchard setting. I would be more than happy to answer any questions about my experience! Reviewed on 29-09-2023

Making a venue decision is one of the most daunting tasks facing an engaged couple, and I’m hoping this review helps make that decision easier: get married at Bad Seed. The space is incredible, the staff is unparalleled, and the ciders are delicious. Allow me to elaborate: for our wedding in May 2023, our vision was a fun party surrounded by 80 of our closest family members and friends. Bad Seed is one of our favorite local breweries, and it’s an important place for my husband and for me, so booking them was a no-brainer. We did look at least 20 venues, compared costs, created spreadsheets, etc—but at the end of the day, the awesome space, the ability to support an awesome small local business, and responsiveness and openness of Devin (one of the owners) made picking Bad Seed a no-brainer. Bad Seed only hosts one wedding a weekend, which is also fantastic because it gives you, the couple, so much more time and flexibility. (So many venues that we saw had very strict, machine-like policies that I understand from an efficiency perspective—but on one of the most special days of your life, you might want a little more flexibility.)Our original vision for our wedding was outdoors under the beautiful oak tree in the orchard, followed by a cocktail hour under the twinkle lights and open sky, with the reception and dance party to follow indoors. Of course, despite it not having rained for 7 years prior on our wedding date, it poured exactly when our ceremony and cocktail hour were starting. But Bad Seed was ready to deal with that and made our day even better than we thought possible—we activated our Plan B and got married in the giant keg room (which was really cool and super on-brand for me and my husband), and had an absolute blast. Even though I was a neurotic mess checking the weather every 10 seconds, Devin and the Bad Seed crew rolled with it, allowing me to make my decision about braving the outdoors vs moving the ceremony indoors until about 4 hours before go-time. Seriously, these guys are the best. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, and reiterate: Bad Seed rocks. Get married here. You won’t regret it. Reviewed on 17-06-2023
Shauna O'Toole Mihalko(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-09-2022 Devin and his staff went above and beyond to make our wedding day the most magical and beautiful day of our lives and kept us relaxed and stress-free. Beyond having an incredible selection of unique favorable cider varieties and high-quality pizzas, they were the best venue for a wedding we could have asked for. The atmosphere and energy were on par with our vision, and the venue is the perfect size for a full outdoor or indoor/outdoor wedding. We loved having the fire pits, pinball machines, and cornhole. The way the cidergarten and cidery inside is laid out is welcoming for guests. We especially loved the natural seasonal floral/plant arrangements and decor they have to decorate the cidergarten. When we returned the next day, the staff had cleaned up all of our items to be picked up neatly, and we enjoyed some pizza and cider. Lastly, Devin and his team worked so well with our outside vendors; they all ebbed and flowed like they had been working together for years. I honestly can't say enough amazing things about this place; it was perfect in every way, and anytime there was a moment of confusion or question, Devin and his staff were right there, making everything great again! The communication is the planning process was also phenomenal, and he worked with us being out of state and planning to come up after booking. Getting married under the beautiful tree on the edge of the orchard in the Gunks was always my dream. We can't wait to visit again for our first anniversary since we now live in Maryland (The Hudson Valley is my home of 29 years) and for every year after with our two dogs. Reviewed on 09-04-2023
Kelly Case(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-07-2022 Working with Bad Seed Cider was the greatest experience. My husband and I both graduated from SUNY New Paltz and wanted a venue in the area that highlighted the beautiful surroundings of where we met, Bad Seed’s location is perfect for just that! Our ceremony was in the orchard under a beautiful tree, we got to take pictures in the orchards with the rolling hills behind us, and the cidery itself is a very cool space to have a party. Our guests loved the indoor/outdoor spaces, the patio worked great for lawn games and cocktail hour, and the inside has an awesome dance floor space and an upstairs that looks over the dancing, we loved this space for our older guests and a kid table! Devin and his staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. We booked the space about a year before our wedding and Devin was available throughout the year to answer any questions, meet us at the space, and help us coordinate with different vendors. He was always quick to email us back and flexible with our wedding plans, something we greatly appreciated. We loved his catering recommendations and ended up going with Victoria’s Brick Oven Pizza (also highly recommended) who could not stop raving about how great it was to work at Bad Seed. Choosing vendors who knew the space and enjoyed working there was very important to us and easy to do with Devin and his staff. We are so happy with our choice to get married and have our reception at Bad Seed Cider, we have no complaints, only positives to say about this venue. 10/10 would choose it again and again! Cherie Wong(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2022 My husband and I are super into hard cider, so when we looked for places to have our wedding in the Hudson Valley and found Bad Seed, we knew we needed to check it out. We knew that instead of a traditional ballroom wedding, we wanted something that would be a little more unique and different, and Bad Seed ticked all the boxes! Devin was fantastic to work with and gave us a whole bunch of ideas and ways that the venue has been used for weddings, which really helped us in setting up our own. We were also super appreciative that we were able to set up the day before. The cost for renting the venue and the price for alcohol was a steal, especially considering the quality of the cider (their flagship dry cider is one of my favorites, and the blueberry lavender was fantastic!). After spending several seasons out of college as the Executive Chef for Cooperstown Country Club Devin moved home to the Hudson Valley and founded Bad Seed Cider with his Childhood friend Albert Wilklow. Once the Bad Seed Taproom was open Devin took his years of wedding experience to create a unique venue that hosts beautiful farm inspired weddings. He feels creating a truly spectacular event takes a collaboration between all the vendors and venue and always strives to make each event exactly what the couples had envisioned.
