Baker Events is a rooftop wedding venue based in Holland, MI. Filled with charm and urban elegance, this chic space is perfect for couples seeking a trendy and contemporary wedding. What was formerly Baker Furniture Warehouse has been reimagined as a spectacularly modern event space. This premier wedding venue is home to two unique settings. Located on the main floor, the Warehouse still features the exposed white brick walls of the iconic Holland landmark. The vaulted ceilings and large windows provide an abundance of natural light. It also features a dance floor, bar, and a large adjoining terrace. CafĂ© lights and additional seating with outdoor heaters are also available. Upstairs, the Loft showcases the same urban charm and is ideal for a smaller gathering. This intimate setting features wood floors, wood beam ceilings, oversized windows, and custom-made wooden tables. The glowing bubble lights add to its welcoming and cozy atmosphere. This expansive venue is very versatile and accommodates up to 300 guests. You are welcome to use both of these locations for their ceremony and reception. You and your wedding party are invited to relax in the venueâs getting-ready rooms while guests avail of onsite parking and shuttle service. This venue provides full-service food and beverages for you and your guests. Catering for small and large wedding parties, Baker Events gives you the freedom to customize your wedding menu. This is such a beautiful venue to get married at- we had our ceremony in the loft and the reception in the warehouse, and with the salon IN the venue, it made the day so easy and stress free. We got so many compliments on the space!We postponed our 2020 wedding, which was a process that definitely had its ups and downs. Natalie Misner specifically went above and beyond with helping us navigate such a difficult and stressful situation so that we could have the beautiful day that we dreamed of.

This is such a beautiful venue to get married at- we had our ceremony in the loft and the reception in the warehouse, and with the salon IN the venue, it made the day so easy and stress free. We got so many compliments on the space!We postponed our 2020 wedding, which was a process that definitely had its ups and downs. Natalie Misner specifically went above and beyond with helping us navigate such a difficult and stressful situation so that we could have the beautiful day that we dreamed of.

Very happy fall 2023 bride here đ My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Baker Events and would recommend them whole heartedly! Baker has two unique venues located in one building. Costs vary for use of just one or use of both rooms. My fiancĂ© and I chose to hold both of our ceremony and reception in âThe Loftâ as aesthetically, the warm colors of the Loft were more our vibe. Overview: When we initially started our search for a venue, we were looking for a space that was not too large and would feel intimate for around 150 guests. We found the size of the Loft fit that feeling perfectly. My family can tend to be⊠high stress, so we were also looking for a venue that could provide tables, chairs, and linens. It was an enormous bonus that Gilmore Catering is onsite and DELICIOUS. It was an additional bonus that Quinn Vise Salon was also onsite and directly connected to Bakerâs beautiful bridal suites (perfect for pictures). My husband and I were not interested in breaking the bank for our wedding and were delighted that the Loft was so beautiful on its own, it did not require much floral or dĂ©cor for a stunning ceremony/reception setting. This helped us cut down exponentially on costs. Additionally, because we used Quinn Vise Salon and the Loft Bridal Suite to get ready, my family and bridesmaids were able to set up the space (Baker set up tables, chairs, and place settings) on their own while we got ready and this too helped cut down on costs. We did hire a day-of-coordinator to assist with set-up and the flow of the day as well. Baker is the perfect combination of and inclusive yet DIY venue. Food & Drink: As mentioned above, Gilmore Catering was DELICIOUS. We were blown away at our tasting, and received numerous compliments from all of our guests. Many guests claimed it was the best food they had had at a wedding. We opted for buffet style as we had numerous guests with health conditions and decided it was best if they could create their own plate. We choose âoption 2â which consisted of one salad, two sides, and two entrees. We paid to add one additional side item as it really was not that big of an expense to do when we worked out the numbers. I believe this still came out to under $40 a plate, which in todayâs wedding market was quite a reasonable price. I can vouch very highly for all of our choices- chopped Caesar salad, balsamella chicken, pot roast, rainbow carrots, mashed potatoes, and broccolini. We did have a few guests who were vegetarians and Baker allowed us to order these guests individual plates which they brought out to them. This was very important to us and we were pleased we were able to do so. In regard to the bar, we were at first very intimidated to purchase by the bottle as it was very difficult to discern exactly how much the bar would cost. Baker does not charge you for any unopened bottles at the end of the night and allows you to take any opened alcohol with you at the end of the night. We feared paying by the bottle would be expensive as we had a pretty heavy drinking crowd. We were VERY pleasantly surprised with our bar tab at the end of the night. Location: As above, we were thrilled to have a salon and beautiful bridal suite on site. The bridal suites are large and I feel even large enough to get ready in with your bridal party if you decided to use your own hair and makeup artists. The suites were stunning and beautiful for pictures. I do recommend using the salon as they were wonderful and easy to work with, they will schedule as many hair and makeup professionals as needed to get your girls ready in the time frame you provide. Baker has many beautiful areas for pictures onsite. We were originally planning on going offsite for pictures, but opted to stay onsite for convenience and I am happy we did. There is a park located across the street from the venue with tall trees, this looks beautiful in the fall. We were very happy with both our indoor and outdoor photos. We arrived onsite in the morning, and literally did not leave until the end of the night and this really just helped create a stress-free day. Parking was onsite and easy and convenient for guests. We also chartered a shuttle from our hotel and the shuttle was able to drop guests off conveniently without issue.Communication: Both Kim(catering director) and Natalie are very responsive to e-mails so questions are answered immediately. Baker offers a tasting, and then Kim requires two details meetings prior to the event which were quick and helpful. Overall, the vibe and aesthetic of Baker was just beautiful. We were looking for a laid-back classy vibe and Baker achieved this. We LOVE Michigan fall and wanted to incorporate this into our venue, the Loft was perfect. Cozy but chic.

We loved having our wedding at Baker! Natalie was awesome to work with! We rented both the loft & warehouse so had access to both brand new huge bridal suites with tons of natural light! Plenty of room if youâre getting ready there, or you can get ready at Quinn Vise Salon which is connected to the bridal suite area. Ceremony and reception were beautiful, minimal decor is required plus they have lanterns, candles and succulents you can use!

This venue is so beautiful! We rented both the loft and warehouse for our wedding, and I highly recommend doing that! We felt like the venue included quite a bit for a very reasonable price. The staff was great with communication leading up to the wedding and the day of. Weeks later, we are still hearing about how amazing the food was!

Baker Events/Gilmore Catering was absolutely FANTASTIC. My husband actually found them on a list of âaffordable venues in Michiganâ. We are from Chicago, so everything out there was absolutely insane cost wise. We looked over this pricing, and thought hmm okay it may be worth the trip to check it out. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Natalie who is just a literal ray of sunshine. She answered all of my 5492 questions with ease. The venue is absolutely stunning and so well maintained. I was so scared it was one of those places that looks good and bright in pictures but not in person. WRONG. This place is so beautiful, it doesnât need much in the way of dĂ©cor at all. Aside from the absolutely stunning aesthetic of it all, the experience was incredible. We were able to come in a few times over the course of getting engaged Christmas of 2020 to the wedding, September 30, 2022. Natalie was wonderful to work with. The amount of times we contacted her over the course of almost 2 years, she answered every question, eased every concern, and never made me feel like I was bothering her. The other women I met with over the course of the meetings were also wonderful. Stephanie listened to me when I told her I needed the space to be an ICE BOX because I run very warm. They replaced my husbands chair at the head table for something more comfortable because he actually had an emergency appendectomy 4 days before the wedding and needed a chair with some cushion. 1000000/10 would recommend and would have my wedding there again over and over!Now onto Gilmore catering. Again, when I saw the pricing I thought âthere is no way this is going to be good food at this priceâ. W R O N G! I may be biased because it was my own wedding, but based on our guests reactions as well, I feel like I can honestly say this is some of the best wedding food Iâve ever had. We had Caesar salad, pot roast, boursin chicken, roasted carrots, and garlic chive mashed potatoes. All the meat was SO fork tender, the carrots had this amazing taste to them, think that taste you get on the outside of a burned marshmallow, that very specific taste. The carrots had a hint of that with sweet and savory, I truly canât describe it any other way. The mashed potatoes werenât like most wedding potatoes, stiff and gross. They were fluffy and warm and truly amazing. Like, I would go back to have a meal by Gilmore Catering. Kim was amazing to work with helping me set up the bar, providing me options for my vegan friends, helping me select appetizers for a good variety (GET. THE. VEGGIE. SPRING ROLLS. Holy crap they were SO GOOD!!!!)

We had our ceremony and reception at Baker Events, and they exceeded our expectations. The spaces are absolutely gorgeous! Throughout the planning process, the communication was great and they answered any questions I had in a timely manner. On the day of, the staff were amazing and I received so many comments on how good the food was. So thankful we picked this venue!

We had our ceremony and reception at Baker Events, and they exceeded our expectations. The spaces are absolutely gorgeous! Throughout the planning process, the communication was great and they answered any questions I had in a timely manner. On the day of, the staff were amazing and I received so many comments on how good the food was. So thankful we picked this venue!

We loved Baker Events! We booked the venue for our ceremony and reception back in May of 2020. We had the ceremony in the Loft and the reception in the Warehouse. The food was delicious. Having the hair salon right down the hall from the venue made it so easy as well!

I just had my wedding at Baker Lofts this year and it was absolutely perfect! I am a wedding planner myself and so I knew going into the planning process that I wanted to go with a venue that includes everything for me. I was not up for the whole DIY thing (more power to you if you have the stamina for that). You are required to work with Gilmore Catering and they have a very seamless process. You can tell they've been in the industry for a long time and know what they are doing. Kim was great to work with as she was very straightforward, organized and had simple answers to all of my questions. My favorite part about Baker is how easy everything was. The hair salon is in the building (if you choose), there is plenty of space to get ready with the bridal party (though there is not a room for the groomsmen, this could be a helpful add on), you can have your ceremony and reception all in the same place and there is a required catering and bar service. So many logistics and details taken care of all in one place! It was so easy on the wedding day. I never had to leave the building! I got married on a Friday in March so the price was extremely reasonable for everything that was included. As far as the look of the venue goes, I love that there are multiple greenery walls up at the venue. It is perfect for hanging signage, a nice backdrop for photos, etc. The Loft area was my favorite part...specifically the bar! It is so modern and beautiful! And when it gets dark outside the lighting in the room is so warm and gorgeous! My pictures turned out so good and I loved having the option of using brick walls OR white walls in the background. I wasn't initially going for the \"industrial\" vibe for my wedding but I feel like I was really able to make the space what I wanted it to be. It can be dressed up or down and I think that is great. Sort of a blank slate. Oh and the wooden tables upstairs are so pretty too! So glad I got to use those :) These were some of my favorite things about the venue! If you are looking for a full service venue who is going to get the details straight then you are in the right place.

I wasn't initially going for the \"industrial\" vibe for my wedding but I feel like I was really able to make the space what I wanted it to be. It can be dressed up or down and I think that is great. Sort of a blank slate. Oh and the wooden tables upstairs are so pretty too! So glad I got to use those :) These were some of my favorite things about the venue! If you are looking for a full service venue who is going to get the details straight then you are in the right place.

Our food was outstanding and the chef was able to make a Mediterranean menu for us, it was to die for! Baker Events was such a great location for our special day. The venue was extremely flexible with our requests and gave us the freedom to create an outstanding event for all of our guests. We can't speak any higher of their customer service as they were helping us every step of the way from creating our menu to selecting our bar options. They also continued to support us and provided insight as we navigated the COVID19 climate last summer. We had nothing but positive feedback on the bar and food that were served that evening. The apps during cocktail hour were all top tier (highly recommend the caprese skewers and spring rolls). The chicken and pork were also extremely tender and moist and more importantly HOT.. They also helped us with selecting our DJ services, who kept our dance floor full the entire evening. We had a wedding of roughly 250 people and it felt extremely roomy and we really believe that if we had our full list of 300 we would have had plenty of room to do everything we planned on. This is the perfect location in Holland as it is close to many great hotel options or guests as well as a quick drive to downtown Holland. Please do yourself a favor and check out their beautiful venue before selecting a place to hold your wedding...you will not be disappointed.

Such a beautiful space that created some of our favorite moments!! We were very nervous when we booked Baker during COVID with anticipation of a brighter feature. We received no communication regarding where capacity stood for the venue for quite some time nor what was going on at their venue. I donât blame them, no one knew what was going on! But finally once guidelines got lifted, we received an exciting email stating we were good to go to invite everyone. I have to say, I think this is my first time ever leaving a company review... I would absolutely never EVER recommend Baker Events in Holland, MI!!! Not even to my worst enemy! It seemed they did not care about our day, and all they cared about was making money. Baker Lofts was my dream place to get married, and now when I think about the venue, I get sick to my stomach. My fiancĂ© & I signed with them way back in 2018 for a May 2020 date. Of course as you know, COVID hit right before, so we were unable to go through with our it. At that time, I tried to receive a partial refund or at least something, which I believe was completely fair (we are both losing here, so let us work together somehow). The $500 deposit was non-refundable, but I was hoping to receive partial refund for the $3,500 room rental fee. However, they would not allow that, so I worked with them (since they were not willing to work with me), and we chose a new date of March 2021. Here's the kicker- We wanted to do it later in summer of 2020, but they were already giving away dates to other brides, which at the end of the day, I understand, but don't you think we would get first pick, since we signed with them so long ago? At least let us know right away before any ânewâ brides is what I thought was respectful. THEN, I did not really want a March wedding, BUT they told me that if I decided to have a May 2021 date or after, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE OF THE NEW 2021 RATE!!! I literally could not believe they had the audacity to even suggest that, but here I am again, being the one that works with them, so I did not even argue with it and just went ahead and picked a date prior to May... I just was in such shock from this crazy pandemic and having to postpone that I really was just not in the right mindset. THEN! Once March 2021 was approaching, we realized that date was not going to be possible either. So here we are, having to postpone TWICE now, and they were still not working with us (my idea of doing some type of partial refund for just the room rental fee), so my fiancĂ© brought up the fact that this is the SECOND time they could not provide us the service for our guaranteed guess count, which is written right in the contract that we ALL signed & agreed upon. The owner told us that \"it doesn't matter to them whether we have 1 guest or 300 guests, & that maybe we should go find our local representative office and get them to get the governor to open things back up\" !!! Also, I think it is important to mention that we tried canceling for that March 2021 date shortly after we chose it, and they would not allow it. It is written clear as day in our contract that \"Cancellation of Event: In the event of a cancellation, Baker Events will keep your non-refundable deposit if canceled 6months before the Event.\" So if I am reading it correctly, we should have at least gotten our $3,500 back. However, I was not even \"fighting\" for the full $3,500 back, I was just hoping for something... and I stated this in our email correspondence, but that was the last email - I never heard a word back still to this day! Pretty ironic, eh? I just still cannot believe it. This whole situation makes me so sad and so disheartened. So here I am, making sure I spread the word in any way possible. I truly feel like so many other brides, who have âworkedâ with them feel the exact same wayâŠ.

My husband and I booked with Baker events in 2019 for January 2021.Not only did this venue neglect to contact me about their inability to host our event but has denied any money over and above our deposit in return. ZERO services were rendered by Baker Events. They were not out any money on our behalf, ZERO food had been ordered, ZERO booze had been used, and ZERO staff had been scheduled. When approached with a 50/50 split on money returned, because we understand the trying times and wanted to see a fruitful outcome for both parties. I was greeted with an unwavering condescendence and a confidentiality agreement. Stating... we will not get even our deposit back without signing away our ability to express our dissatisfaction with them on any and all public forums. The refund of my deposit is NOT contingent on me signing this release per my original event contract, mind you this is the contract language that they are using to uphold the force majure clause to protect themselves. And you wonât see a dime without it. They have deactivated the option to see or write a review on their Facebook because of the backlash they are receiving from their lack of professional courtesy to their clients. We would love to release them from liability, but itâs going to take more than our deposit to restore the loss large numbers of couples, including myself, have felt with Baker Events high and dry approach. Take the stress out of wedding planning and DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. You won't get what you paid for if you do.

My husband and I couldn't have picked a better venue than Baker Lofts for our wedding reception! From the beginning of the planning process to the final moments of the reception, the staff at Baker was amazing. My husband and I have received so many complements from our guests about how perfect the reception was, from the bartenders and servers, to the food and overall ambiance. Believe me we would love to take all the credit for planning such a great wedding, but the reality is that if it weren't for the entire Baker staff we wouldn't have achieved such success. Kim, Barb, and Adam were amazing at keeping my husband and I's stress levels low. We met the Thursday before the wedding to iron out the last minute details and because there were no other events, they allowed us to set up the decorations the day before (Friday), so that we didn't need to worry about them the morning of the wedding. They even arranged all the cupcakes on the cake table the morning of, so that the cupcakes could stay fresh overnight in bins. Throughout the reception, Adam occasionally asked my husband and I how we were doing, kept us up to date on what was going on, and made sure that all our vendors and guests were happy and aware of what was coming next.Overall, my husband and I can't say enough good things about Baker Lofts and how happy we are that we chose to host our wedding reception at their venue. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with excellent staff and food, then look no further than Baker Lofts.

My husband and I couldn't have picked a better venue than Baker Lofts for our wedding reception! From the beginning of the planning process to the final moments of the reception, the staff at Baker was amazing. My husband and I have received so many complements from our guests about how perfect the reception was, from the bartenders and servers, to the food and overall ambiance. Believe me we would love to take all the credit for planning such a great wedding, but the reality is that if it weren't for the entire Baker staff we wouldn't have achieved such success. Kim, Barb, and Adam were amazing at keeping my husband and I's stress levels low. We met the Thursday before the wedding to iron out the last minute details and because there were no other events, they allowed us to set up the decorations the day before (Friday), so that we didn't need to worry about them the morning of the wedding. They even arranged all the cupcakes on the cake table the morning of, so that the cupcakes could stay fresh overnight in bins. Throughout the reception, Adam occasionally asked my husband and I how we were doing, kept us up to date on what was going on, and made sure that all our vendors and guests were happy and aware of what was coming next.Overall, my husband and I can't say enough good things about Baker Lofts and how happy we are that we chose to host our wedding reception at their venue. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with excellent staff and food, then look no further than Baker Lofts.

Everything about our reception at baker lofts was perfect! We live on the other side of the state but got married in Holland. Planning a wedding is stressful enough but planning it out of city adds another level of stress. Kim was great through the whole process, she knew we lived 3 hours away so when we had our tasting trail she made sure we also did our \"final\" food decision and got other things out of the way so we could just show up to our last meeting the week of the wedding. Anything I needed i had a quick response thru email and Kim also reassured me that whenever I was in the area I could stop in to see the space. As the day got closer we met with Barb and one other lady (forgot her name) both were great and helpful and actually let us make some changes to the bar. Due to our wedding being on a holiday weekend they did not have anything booked the Thursday or Friday before so we were able to start setting up Thursday which was amazing and made everything less strssfull and more enjoyable. Barb was there whole we were setting up and offered a helping hand whenever needed she also gave great ideas for the little things. When the day came it was amazing!! The food all came out hot and orderly, we had complements on everything! As the bride and groom we were very thankful for a plate of appetizers left at our table. It's the little things like that, that we really appreciated. We also were able to set our photo booth inside which the company we worked with mentioned most times they are outside the space but it worked out great. We also had ice cream catered and they were amazing at the set up and letting them come in! The service was awesome and the bar tenders were on top of it! A great addition was the bridal party had their own server so we never went thirty and she was always making sure we were happy. One other thing that I loved is as the night got near the end they were mindful of what liquor and beer to not open any more of so we actually saved money because they didn't open additional bottles yet noone complained or was upset about it they just picked something else. I cannot say enough about Baker and I would book another event there! Thank you again Baker!!

Baker lofts is a beautiful venue. But working with the people who work there is another story. They definitely do not put the customer first. We had or tasting May 11, chose our food and May 20 we attended a wedding at baker lofts. We chose our food and I emailed the vendors May 21 to ask if we could change a side for our August 26 wedding. I emailed and asked and was told yes no problem. Fast forward to the meeting before our wedding and going over our food menu and the aid wasn't changed. Which honestly wasn't a big deal. After Barb was upset that someone wasn't on top of the change, and she asked who I emailed and who I talked to. Which happened to be Barb, Kim pipes in with \"Oh we can't change things through email.\" UMM ok. That's weird everything else was done through email. And also it was difficult to make payments. It was almost painful to try to pay them. My mom lives and hour away from the venue and everything had to be paid in person. It's insane that it was so difficult to give someone money. And the icing on the cake was Day of our wedding our keg was wrong (we ordered all day IPA and were given a keg that tasted like hefavisen. The keg said anheizer Busch on the keg with a paper plate that said all day IPA on top of it. My husband can only drink all day IPA, other beer makes him sick. The bartender was arguing with him telling him it was all day. It clearly wasn't. All day is a founders beer first of all, and we know what it tastes like. The bartender was completely rude to my husband and argued with him. We were told that if we ran out of the all day IPA keg there would be one in storage. But for some reason when it was the wrong keg on tap, there wasn't another keg in storage. So we were told it was all day and it was just shook up, lmao. Really. So after persistence we were told there was no more kegs of all day. So they said they could put a keg of Oberon on and that that they would refund us 100$. Have we seen the money yet from that? No. They just seemed to not put the customer first, and were hard to work with. Weddings are hard to plan as is and Baker Lofts do not make the process any easier for brides.

Our wedding was perfect! We had both our ceremony and reception at Baker Lofts and it was so easy to plan and was incredibly beautiful. The space was gorgeous, the food was literally the best I've had in awhile (I'm still having guests text me about it) and the staff was so easy to work with.

The staff are so professional and do a wonderful job of coordinating everything for the reception. The food from the Gilmore Collection is amazing. We had so many comments on how delicious it was. The space itself was perfect for our group. There were about 180 of us, and it was so spacious and open. Loved everything about it!

I do not have enough nice things to say about the people of Baker Lofts that helped us with our wedding reception. The staff that we worked with were very professional and down-to-business, while at the same time very helpful and incredibly kind. We were given many suggestions that proved to be fantastic and we cannot thank them enough! Our wedding was outdoors, and two hours before it was pouring. Kim, who we had worked with from the beginning, was there setting up our reception that day, and even though we had already made the call to risk it outdoors, she assured me that they would make the Baker space fantastic for a ceremony if we had to move it inside at the last minute. The rain held off for us, but I think speaking with Kim two hours before helped calm down this nervous bride and her parents. In addition to having amazing people in charge of the production, the waitstaff and bartenders were some of the nicest people I have ever encountered at a catered event or restaurant. I highly, highly recommend Baker Lofts for a wedding reception or any event - the people are wonderful and the space is beautiful.

They were accomodating and attentive to our needs and answered all questions efficiently making a big part of our wedding planning much easier. Our guests raved about the food and the space - the exposed brick and hanging lights made for a beautiful setting. They're detailed and helpful down to the littlest detail. Prices were comparable with other venues we looked at in the area.

The service and staff could not have been more accommodating! Everything they promised, they followed through on! Something to keep in mind: there is a tax and service charge on food. This ended up costing us an additional $3000 we didn't anticipate. We had an issue with some of our tables having food that wasn't cooked. However, the Gilmore group has gone above and beyond to try and remedy this from ever happening again. They have worked hard to make up for their mistake, and have been nothing but professional and honest with the entire situation. I would feel confident in recommending them to others!!
