Modern Barn Elegance 25 mins from Portland!
Flanagan Farm hosts exquisite events year round. With two magnificent barns set on 66 pastoral acres, Flanagan Farm is versatile and accommodating—designed to take advantage of Maine’s four seasons—be it the open-air freshness of spring and summer or the crisp light and cozy warmth of fall and winter. The Barn at Flanagan Farm offers an unforgettable backdrop to host your event, whether it is an intimate gathering, an all out bash, or the wonderful options in between. Weddings at Flanagan Farm include use of the entire property, including overnight accommodations in the farmhouse for 10-12 guests from Thursday through Sunday. For couples interested in a Sunday wedding, it is possible to shift the dates to Friday to Monday depending on the weekend. You are welcome to host your ceremony and reception on site, as well as also rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and even a farewell brunch if you'd like. Past couples have shared that being able to make themselves totally at home with family and friends allowed them to truly soak up all of the "little moments" around the big day, from morning yoga with friends in the barn to late night around the fire pit with family. Additionally, Flanagan Farm is among the closest wedding venues to Portland, at just 25 minutes drive, so many couples love that they can combine the best of Portland (including hotels or rental homes for guests) with the natural beauty of an elevated outdoor setting for their wedding weekend. For wedding planning, catering, and rentals, we have a list of recommended vendors who know our properties very well in each category and who have executed brilliantly with us many times. In our experience, every couple has a different vision for their weekend, so we leave the choices like rentals and menu design up to you, so that you can bring your precise vision to life. We do respectfully require that couples work with a professional planner or day-of coordinator to help bring their weekend together. One of the other unique things about marrying at Flanagan Farm is that you'll have the opportunity to do some good, just by celebrating with us! Through our Love/Give program, we donate a share of our proceeds from every wedding to organizations that are making a difference for Maine’s people and places. We could not be happier with our experience getting married at Flanagan Farm! There are so many reasons to love this venue. First, Mike & Essie and the team are excellent to work with - they are friendly, organized, and professional, and were kind enough to allow us to visit a couple of times before our wedding weekend to view the barn and grounds. Second, we were impressed with all of the ways we were able to make our wedding our own - every wedding at Flanagan is beautiful and unique to the couple hosting . There are so many ways to work with this venue to host an event that is creative and special. Finally, we loved how we were able to stay onsite for the entire wedding weekend - it was so nice to be able to host friends and family throughout the weekend for smaller and more intimate celebrations in the lead up to the main event. We made so many wonderful memories here. We are very grateful!

It's hard to explain how incredible this venue is. To start, Essie and Mike are one-of-a-kind. They're responsive, caring, thoughtful and amenable. Simply put, it's a joy to work with them and we would plan many more events at Flanagan Farm if we could.The venue itself is spectacular. Rain or shine, you will get the best of the best. Make no mistake, this is a barn venue but it is elevated elegance, and the beauty of the venue is that you can really create whatever you want with it. The two barns give space for flexibility and the lawn and orchard are beautiful and open for a tent or just for guests to gape at the beauty.One of the most unique and special aspects of Flanagan was that it allowed both of our families to stay together on the property. While this may not be everyone's first choice for their wedding weekend, we chose to bring both families (parents, siblings and their partners) together under one roof for three nights. It helped create a sense of true unity throughout the entire weekend. The night before the official celebrations began, we were able to use the gas grill on property to have a huge barbecue with everyone staying in the farmhouse, which was a great way to kick off the weekend. This aspect of the property was a huge draw for us and we did not find many others that allowed us to do that.If you have the privilege of planning your event with Mike and Essie, and at Flanagan Farm, you will not be disappointed. We hope to cross paths with them again soon!

We can't imagine our wedding celebrations anywhere other than Flanagan Farm! We fell in love with Flanagan immediately when we visited and we both knew it was the perfect venue to showcase the beauty and history of Maine while also having the freedom to design and curate our wedding weekend in a way that reflected us and our relationship. Essie and Mike have put so much thought into the design, aesthetic, and layout of Flanagan Farm and were so available to assist with any questions, provide vendor recommendations, and check in to make sure we were feeling prepared over the two years we worked with them - they made us feel so comfortable and excited! We loved that we were the only wedding for the weekend and that we had access to the property from Thursday - Sunday. It helped us ease into the wedding celebrations and not feel rushed. We also really enjoyed having our wedding party stay with us onsite at the farm house. We even hosted a small wedding party and family gathering on Thursday night to kickoff the wedding weekend, and we're so grateful Flanagan provides such a beautiful space for multiple gatherings throughout the weekend. Truly, don't look any further than Flanagan - you will be in great hands with Essie and Mike and have such a beautiful wedding weekend that you'll remember forever. Getting married at Flanagan Farm was a dream come true. There was not a single thing that we would have changed. The whole Flanagan Farm team was so wonderful to work with. Every interaction with Essie, Mike, and Kate made us think that we were the only couple getting married at Flanagan Farm all summer! The ceremony space is exactly what we always wanted, so calm and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful trees. We had our cocktail hour on the lawn and our dinner in a tent on the lawn. They were both so so great! We finished the night dancing in the barn and it could not have been more fun to party in such a beautiful setting. We had the most incredible wedding weekend at The Barn at Flanagan Farm! Not only are the facilities top-knotch, but the owners and support staff are so helpful and communicative. We had access to a property manager throughout the entire weekend and it helped everything go so much more smoothly! Our guests raved about how gorgeous the venue was, from the ceremony space to the barn to the farmhouse itself. It felt both homey and upscale, exactly what we wanted for our laid back wedding! It really is a magical place, and we highly recommend it.

Our guests couldn't stop raving about what a gorgeous setting it was, from the Ceremony Grove to the wonderfully-preserved barn. It was the perfect venue for our elegant but understated wedding.It was also so convenient to be able to stay on-site in the farmhouse - we felt like we were welcoming our guests to our home! Not to mention, the farmhouse itself is well-appointed, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. We loved staying there.Mike, Essie, Kate, and the whole Flanagan Farm team were so communicative and wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process. I can't recommend Flanagan Farm and working with Mike and Essie enough! We chose this venue during COVID sight unseen and it was better than we could have expected. The barn and outdoor space were beautiful and perfect for guests to have space to walk around, play lawn games, etc. The guest house and couples cottage were also stunning and we were so happy to have that space for the entire weekend. Mike and Essie were also so communicative and easy to work with. All around it was a perfect experience!

The Barn at Flanagan Farm was everything we ever dreamed of for our wedding weekend. What made it EVEN BETTER, was the incredible owners of it - Mike + Essie. This dynamic duo have a beautiful venue, but they are also beautiful humans. Because of their genuine love for their couples, their unending support and down to earth personalities....they were able to allow us to have a 5 star experience on the weekend of our wedding. We already knew we loved Mike + Essie from the very first email we received from them. They were introducing themselves to us as the new owners of our wedding venue. Now you may think that you would instantly panic and have 1000 questions..but no. These two were thoughtful and detailed in their email and they automatically gave you a feeling of security, comfort and excitement about the road ahead. We were SO excited to be on the wedding planning journey with them. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, THAT'S when we panicked. That panic quickly was erased the second we got on the phone with Mike + Essie to gameplan. They were incredible to say the least and really went above and beyond to ensure that my wife and I had the wedding of our dreams. We actually were originally booked at the Barn at Walnut Hill (their sister property) but when we had to postpone our wedding 1 year later that venue was not available. The silver lining to the entire postponement process was that we truly got to feel what it means when they say \"everything happens for a reason\". We were once gut wrenched to find out our venue was not available...but then, we were able to book The Barn at Flanagan Farm for our 2021 date. Our original dream venue. Talk about full circle. Cut to our wedding weekend in October of 2021 - Even before we arrived on property we received yet again another thoughtful and detailed email from Mike + Essie preparing us for our weekend stay. Arriving onsite, we knew that we were going to be fully taken care of by the amazing property manager Jean. Jean was onsite during the entire weekend ready and willing to help with anything we needed. From start to finish she was there and we were are so grateful for her! Now onto the actual property. The Barn at Flanagan Farm has it all! Accessible parking and entrances to the barn, the most magical ceremony sanctuary there ever was, stunning meadow views and a picture perfect set of barns. This property is a blank canvas for any couple to personalize and truly make their own. There is not a single thing I would have changed about the property, its pure magic. We can not say enough about how magical our experience was with The Barn at Flanagan Farm and the incredible team of humans who made it all happen. My wife and I can not recommend them enough and can ensure that you will do the same once you come down from your wedding weekend high as well. XOThe Kesters

The Barn at Flanagan Farm ended up being everything that we hoped for on our wedding day. We first visited the farm in the winter in the middle of an ice storm and were still struck by how beautiful a location it was. We ended up getting married there in July and it was immaculate in the summer. We loved that the wedding party was able to stay on-site in the farmhouse --- it really made the day a lot more relaxing and seamless. The property manager Jean was awesome --- she really helped direct all of our vendors on the wedding day and make sure that everything went smoothly!

We had an amazing August wedding at Flanagan Farm. Everything is immedicable, from the grounds to the barn and the gorgeous house. All of our friends and family loved staying at the barn and all of our wedding guests could not stop commenting what a gorgeous and unique venue it was. Jean, the property manager, was so helpful, kind and knew everything to make our weekend perfect. We are looking forward to when we can return to Flanagan and enjoy another unforgettable event!

We had an amazing August wedding at Flanagan Farm. Everything is immedicable, from the grounds to the barn and the gorgeous house. All of our friends and family loved staying at the barn and all of our wedding guests could not stop commenting what a gorgeous and unique venue it was. Jean, the property manager, was so helpful, kind and knew everything to make our weekend perfect. We are looking forward to when we can return to Flanagan and enjoy another unforgettable event!

The owner was a pleasure to work with - responded promptly to emails and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. We visited the venue multiple times and she was incredibly accommodating - leaving pastries on the kitchen table for us to enjoy on occasion as well! When we got to the venue for the actual event she stopped by to make sure everything was off to a good start and brought delicious 'Holy Donuts' for us as well. The property manager was also attentive and very helpful each day. She cleaned up after us each morning, always with a smile on her face. I don't have enough nice things to say about this venue. It really made the week and the wedding day truly spectacular! :)

The Barn at Flanagan Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding last weekend. It provided different locations for the rehearsal dinner (the little barn and the lawn), the ceremony (the sanctuary with a birch arbor in the woods) and the reception (the main barn) all in one place. For me, the best part was having the whole wedding party stay with us in the attached farm house from Thursday through Sunday, making a full wedding weekend experience. The grooms cottage was a nice touch allowing privacy for the bridal party the morning of our ceremony. The services provided by the barn, including daily housekeeping, landscapers and parking attendants during the event were all professional and friendly. The vendors that the barn works with are of the highest caliber, providing seamless coordination between services, although that did lead to a final budget that I hadn't anticipated. Overall, we are extremely happy with our decision to have our wedding at Flanagan Farm!
