Despite a very challenging time, the staff at Barr Mansion blew our socks off! We had to change our daughter's wedding from a wedding/dinner/dance affair for about 150 people to a 10-person maximum ceremony, and the staff was there to hold our hands the whole way. Although the ceremony was small, the staff made sure we had everything we needed - including a coconut chai tea that was fabulous - to make the day memorable. We were delighted with everything that happened that day, and we are especially grateful to those at Barr Mansion for making their part of the day go off without a hitch. We are excited about returning there next year for the reception - we know it will be wonderful!!!

Although the ceremony was small, the staff made sure we had everything we needed - including a coconut chai tea that was fabulous - to make the day memorable. I wish I felt like we could give Barr a better review, but there were some issues that happened during our experience with them that made us feel neglected, even being their only August wedding, and with a bad taste in our mouth from a planning service standpoint. There were pros in the shuffle of the cons with our experience with Barr and since finishing our contract with them, the new General Manager did reach out and apologize for the poor experience we had. We do feel we need to share what we went through so others aren't feeling shocked at the very small food tasting and can ensure they receive more organized and on point care with their account than we did.Pros: Hollie was our first initial contact with Barr and she was friendly, constantly on top of communication with us and answered our questions in a timely manner. When she did our tour, she was very informative and gave us some awesome ideas to help visualize what our wedding at Barr could look like. Hollie helped us navigate the contract and let us know that our next line of communication going forward was the event manager. Hollie was a delight!Another plus for our experience was the day of execution. Paired with our wedding planners, things went along smoothly, food tasted great and the cake was very yummy. (PS we did not get to try any of the food or cake flavors we selected until the day of). The venue itself is stunning and fit the vibe we were going for with our big day.Cons: A staffing change with the event manager during our contract was a huge issue. We didn't find out the original event manager left until a week after she was no longer with Barr. Any information we had shared with her seems like it was never saved to a file for the venue nor did anything get communicated because we had to go over everything again. At our meeting with the new event manager and our wedding planner, all information we resent seemed to have not been saved as we had to confirm and share that information all over again. This trend continued during communications past that point and I even told the new event manager how frustrating that was for us on top of other wedding stresses. The lack of organization was unacceptable and caused a very stressful experience for us. I had been in the wedding industry before and so this became extra frustrating for me. There were also some comments made that rubbed us the wrong way and made us feel like because of our budget and my anxiety with planning, that what we needed from Barr didn't matter and that our contract wasn't as important to them as other clients they had who had a bigger budget. (We spent over half our wedding budget on this venue, their catering and bar package).Another issue for us was the tasting. We were only given select dishes and cake flavors to try. Never had I seen this before and it honestly seemed wrong and stingy for the amount any couple hosting an event here was paying. We weren't loving anything set in front of us and opted to blindly choose other plated meals and cake flavors for us and our guests to have for our wedding day. Thankfully, those meals and flavors were a hit but we were very nervous leading up to the wedding because we had no clue what we were serving actually tasted like because we weren't given the chance to try it beforehand.All in all, I think I would advise any couple going with Barr as a venue to let Barr know what your standards are on their backend because they fell short for what we needed. I do hope they are able to get more organized with their files and couples' accounts because the lack of that with ours left us feeling insignificant on a day that is supposed to be so significant to us.

My husband and I had the most incredible wedding at Barr Mansion! None of it would have been possible without our day or coordinator assigned by Barr Mansion, Cori. Cori is the coolest gal and knows how to run an incredible event. She makes you feel like a friend and was a highlight of our wedding planning! Cori met with us multiple times to gather all the details my husband and I had planned and gave us guidance and suggestions as needed. She was behind the scenes the whole wedding day making our event run flawlessly. My family and guests afterwords were amazed by the way things ran so smoothly. This was all thanks to Cori and the staff at Barr Mansion. Barr Mansion communicated well with my husband and I and hosted super yummy tastings for us to go to. When anything went not according to plans in the planning process, Barr Mansion was quick to fix and make sure we were taken care of. Barr Mansion is a beautiful venue and will make your wedding day timeless.

We can start with the Pros:-the venue is beautiful-Per my planner, all of the Barr mansion staff was great to work with day off except for the kitchen-Barr mansion was pretty good about working with us to allow for the vendors & installs we wanted but we still paid a pretty penny for itOverall we had a beautiful wedding but it was made to be extremely stressful & slightly disappointing by the Barr Mansion catering staff.We started to get nervous about the food when we attended the Barr Mansion Winter Tasting. It was really concerning food wise & ultimately Barr mansion informed us that it was a new chef who they then fired shortly after. We were given another tasting which was better but still left some couples dissatisfied. Barr mansion prides themselves on being a “Farm to table” venue that sources local foods from Texas. This is something I loved about the venue when I chose it. They boasted during our tastings that they were extremely conscious of allergies & different food lifestyles: such as completely vegan weddings. Barr Mansion was sent a list of our guests' allergy restrictions & event timeline well in advance and we still had very prominent issues.Wedding day: our ceremony was wonderful & cocktail hour ran smoothly. Our layout was to have a family style meal in the Barr mansion ballroom & transition to their “farmhouse” after dinner for band/reception.This is where everything went wrong. Guests sat down for dinner on time per the timeline. Dinner began with salad/bread & everything was going okay. My husband & I were fed a sample plate of everything we had chosen which was a nice touch. Dinner took much longer than expected to come out but guests were happy. Then we continued to sit and sit and still sit. The quartet we hired to play for dinner finished playing, left, & we still sat in the dinner space with no music. My planner finally came over and informed us that we could not transition out of dinner into the reception because the kitchen had not fed the band. The timeline clearly stated that the band had to be fed at 8:30. (The band was not fed until past 10pm) We sat 1 hr+ past our timeline transition waiting on the kitchen to feed the band. Our band attempted to make up lost time by skipping all scheduled breaks but we still missed out on band time. We also had multiple other vendors sitting in that room with no guests for over an hour of unused time we paid for and that was infuriating.It bothered me that the kitchen wasn’t able to feed our band on time but what really bothered me was finding out the kitchen NEVER fed our allergy guests. We had guests attend our wedding who weren’t fed at all. Our planner reminded the kitchen multiple times & kept asking about the missing meals for the allergy guests & the band. After the band was finally fed & it got closer to midnight & the special allergy meals still hadn’t been fed, the kitchen informed our planner that it was impossible for the kitchen to complete the meals even though they had the list of allergies for weeks and had all the time in the world to prepare.After sending a full debrief the day after the wedding & after multiple email follow ups and reaching out to the venue for an explanation they have chosen to completely ignore us & give no answers. I find it pretty horrifying that they couldn’t feed guests at a wedding where they require us to use their kitchen and then ignore us when we seek answers.

What a memorable evening we had for my daughters wedding. The staff, food, and ground were unbeatable. We are all still day dreaming over the beef tenderloin. We can't thank Cori, our day-of coordinator, enough. Cori made the entire process easy on us with her attention to detail, knowledge, and fun attitude. We were all laughing and crying together in the best ways, and we could not have done it without her. We would relive this day over and over if we could. Thank you everyone involved with creating such a wonderful experience.

We LOVEDDDD Barr Mansion!!! The venue was absolutely perfect for us. We had 2 coordinators throughout the process, Molly and Cori. They were both amazing and very helpful! I felt supported during wedding planning. Barr Mansion’s staff were so great! The food was amazing, our wedding guests still talk about how great the food and dessert was! I loved having Cori as my day of coordinator, even though it was cold and rainy everything went so smoothly! The grounds are beautiful, the ballroom, farmstead, and mansion are so picturesque! There are so many options for any type of wedding vision. Everything was so well organized and all of my vendors loved working with Barr Mansion. We can’t wait to return for an event there soon!

We LOVEDDDD Barr Mansion!!! The venue was absolutely perfect for us. We had 2 coordinators throughout the process, Molly and Cori. They were both amazing and very helpful! I felt supported during wedding planning. Barr Mansion’s staff were so great! The food was amazing, our wedding guests still talk about how great the food and dessert was! I loved having Cori as my day of coordinator, even though it was cold and rainy everything went so smoothly! The grounds are beautiful, the ballroom, farmstead, and mansion are so picturesque! There are so many options for any type of wedding vision. Everything was so well organized and all of my vendors loved working with Barr Mansion. We can’t wait to return for an event there soon!

We loved Barr Mansion for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and our day of planner was fantastic! Unfortunately, she no longer works there and the AC was broken upstairs in the old house on the day of the wedding, which is unfortunate as the wedding was in August. We did love having an all-inclusive venue, which made the wedding planning process more straightforward. The best part was the food. We still talk about our wedding dinner to this day.

We loved Barr Mansion for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and our day of planner was fantastic! Unfortunately, she no longer works there and the AC was broken upstairs in the old house on the day of the wedding, which is unfortunate as the wedding was in August. We did love having an all-inclusive venue, which made the wedding planning process more straightforward. The best part was the food. We still talk about our wedding dinner to this day.

Barr Mansion, what a venue!! The grounds are beautiful all around. But what really makes it standout is the service - it is so friendly and efficient. We had the pleasure of working with Molly Mullaly (our day of coordinator / wedding planner) who is a godsent angel. There is no doubt in our minds that our wedding day and the whole wedding process would not have been the same without her. Molly is a true professional at what she does: she maintained constant communication, always had back ups for back ups, consistently anticipated our needs, always answered our millions questions/concerns without hesitation or frustration, and always had a solution to our problems. Having a destination wedding is stressful at times and having someone that knows what they are doing, knows the ins and outs of the wedding industry, and is willing to set up a call in at a moments notice is key. Throughout the whole process there was never a doubt in our minds that she was our friend first, and that she was always in our corner. Our guests were even in awe about her effectiveness, efficiency, and kindness. Everyone truly loved her. We signed a contract with a venue and gained a friend. Another plus is the food, it was absolutely incredible. Best wedding food you will ever eat! We chose to have our food served family style. We were truly impressed not only with taste, but with presentation as well. We had multiple guests with diet restrictions and Barr was able to easily accommodate all of them. There were no complaints from any guests. A month after the wedding and our guest are still raving about it all. You won’t regret getting married at Barr and don’t forget to hire Molly! Thank you Barr Mansion and THANK YOU MOLLY for an unforgettable night for us and our guests.

Barr Mansion was the very first venue I toured after extensive research and I knew INSTANTLY that I wanted to get married here. I had the luxury of working with the one and only Molly Mullaly and I can safely say that my wedding day would not have been the same without her. She is by far one of the most talented planners I have ever worked with and she knows this industry like the back of her hand. She is highly communicative, professional, and walks you through the process. Molly is very detail oriented and made sure the smallest of things were absolutely perfect. Looking back at my wedding day, I can't think or a single thing that went wrong or didn't live up to expectations. I can 100% say that this was due to Molly and the rest of the Barr Mansion staff. My guests were so impressed with the grounds and we got so many compliments on the food. Seriously, so many people reached out to let us know that it was the \"best wedding food they have ever had!\" Everything was of quality and the servers were equally amazing. I couldn't imagine my wedding taking place anywhere else. It was an absolute dream at the most beautiful venue in Austin, Texas. I couldn't have asked for anything more. If you're looking for the PERFECT venue to get married at... look no further. Barr Mansion was the very first venue I toured after extensive research and I knew INSTANTLY that I wanted to get married here. I had the luxury of working with the one and only Molly Mullaly and I can safely say that my wedding day would not have been the same without her. She is by far one of the most talented planners I have ever worked with and she knows this industry like the back of her hand. She is highly communicative, professional, and walks you through the process. Molly is very detail oriented and made sure the smallest of things were absolutely perfect. Our guests were in awe of the beauty of it all. The real star of the show at Barr Mansion for my husband and I was our venue coordinator, Molly Mulally. Molly is quite literally sunshine in human form and the entire planning process would not have been the same without her. She collaborated well with our outside wedding planner and kept us all laughing while always staying on task. She was always quick to answer any of my plethora of questions and has the rare gift of making you feel like you are the only couple she has; despite knowing she has dozens. She advocates for you and does her best to ensure that your wedding is all you could have asked for and then some; apple cider donuts and specialty whiskey bar included in our case. We selected a venue and we left with not only one amazing wedding but truly a friend. Look no further when it comes to a venue or a planner. I promise you won't regret it.

I could not recommend this venue enough!!! It was absolutely perfect. The greenery and the ballroom are unreal. There is enough variation and different little areas that you have plenty of space for guests and dancing later too! The food and drinks were also fantastic!But the true superstar was Molly. Leading up to the wedding she was beyond responsive. She is organized. She is kind. She is everything you need in a planner. When our shuttles didn’t show up she was on it. When our photographer asked if we could do our last dance outside instead of inside, she made it happen on the fly. Our whole wedding party loved her too. They kept commenting how she was there right when you needed her. We got countless comments from family on how supportive and attentive she was as well. Oh, and our vendors loved her too! Seriously, everyone loves her. She feels like your best friend but is yet running the show to make sure your day is perfectly smooth. She even helped me with my bustle and helped me change my shoes for dancing. Even after the wedding she sent me a picture, asked how we were, mailed cards I forgot to give our vendors, and took care of our marriage license. She’s incredible. I think it’s easy to feel stressed about such a big event, but Molly made me feel so calm. I just knew I was in good hands, and she proved this from the first meeting to even after the wedding. I had always thought our wedding would be in California, where my husband is from and where we met. I already had 10+ pages of Google docs ready to go when we got engaged, then the pandemic happened and planning a wedding back in CA was not feasible. We went to Barr Mansion's open house and fell in love. The grounds and buildings will beautifully bring any dream wedding to life! I am a type A planner and I can't tell you how helpful it was even for me to have so much taken care of by Barr Mansion and team - the food, the chairs, tables, etc. It makes a world of difference having them just say \"we've got this!\" and they did/do! No need to bring in a bunch of outside help or a la carte items to try and keep track of. We even utilized their lounge rentals at a great price. Since everyone had to fly in for our wedding (from 19 states!), I planned our whole budget around providing the absolute best guest experience: food, drink, music, games, entertainment, favors, activities, etc. The area I skimped the most compared to other brides was floral - in my opinion, when you get married somewhere as beautiful as Barr Mansion, you have the opportunity to save thousands of dollars by not needing to bring in elaborate floral installations. Your guests will already be in awe at the natural beauty and gardens!And, the food is AMAZING. We went custom and had a Tex Mex theme with mini empenadas and ceviche cups, taco station, chips/dips station, mini churros and tres leche cake bites. And of course late night pizza! At our welcome party the night before, we had local BBQ catered and thought it might outshine our actual wedding food. But nope - everyone loved it!We had a fun, nontraditional ceremony under the big tree and had an epic dance party in the ballroom. Countless guests told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Thank you, Barr Mansion! Truly can't go wrong booking this venue :)

I don't know if I can recommend anything as much as I'd recommend Barr Mansion for your wedding! As described by our guests, it was \"magical!\" As you can see from the photos, the grounds and buildings are stunning and the perfect balance of outdoor/botanical and indoor/elegance. Keena and her team were rockstars; she was so helpful especially given we were planning from 2k miles away. Day before, we handed over the decor and I realized later I didn't give her any directions, because I just knew I didn't need to! She made everything so easy. The farm-to-table food is delicious; we didn't get a single complaint from our guests (trust me, we would have!). And the team made sure we got our own tray of apps as well as a takeaway box of food and desserts! Our guests are still talking about our venue one month later. I wish I could host every party at Barr; it was the perfect day!

Our wedding at Barr Mansion exceeded all of our wildest dreams and imaginations — I have never been to a better wedding. We were originally supposed to get married at Barr Mansion in 2021 but moved our wedding due to covid and the team was incredibly considerate, helpful, and accommodating. Barr Mansion overall as a venue and an aesthetic is an absolute dream. Getting married under the pecan tree made us feel like we were getting married under the actual tree of life (and have you seen how gorgeous it is in photos?) And there is nothing prettier than getting married in the ballroom with all of the gorgeous ivy inside the glass wall — add the edison bulb chandelier with some greenery and it is absolutely stunning. The food at Barr Mansion is second to none. They have creative and impactful menu options that you can curate to exactly what you want. Food for our wedding was incredibly important to my husband and I and the Barr Mansion team really worked with us to make sure our options would be unique and a reflection of our love of food. On the day everything was incredible and our friends and family were very happy and well fed. Also, the desserts were awesome, most people don't love wedding cake, but Barr Mansion has very unique flavors (we had orange cake with camomile icing) and between the wedding cake and the salted pecan cheesecake bites, everyone raved about dessert. But, by far the best thing about the Barr Mansion experience is the team. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful and thoughtful. However, the absolute legend of the team is the coordinator Molly Mulally. We booked the coordinator package through Barr Mansion and Molly was our coordinator — we did not utilize any outside wedding planner, and Molly really made us feel that everything was in hand. Molly had suggestions and advice as we looked to book outside vendors, and in the weeks leading up to the wedding she reached out to all of our outside vendors and coordinated logistics for the day-of. Planning a wedding is a deeply personal and intimate thing, and I felt absolutely in the best hands with Molly as our coordinator. On the actual day I felt cool and calm because I knew Molly was taking care of everything, and because any little concern I had on the day she took into stride and was a very calming presence. In the actual planning process in the year plus leading up to our day, no questions was too small for Molly, and she normally responded to emails almost instantaneously. She had helpful suggestions and thoughts for everything, and took incredible notes. She will make sure you are on track from a planning timeline perspective and is incredibly supportive in making sure the day reflects you and your significant other. On the actual day our family could all tell what an absolutely incredibly human Molly is and commented as such to us. She is an absolute gem and an outstanding wedding coordinator through and through. Book Barr Mansion, book Molly, and have the best wedding you’ve ever been to.

Barr Mansion's staff quickly allowed us to book and assigned us a \"Day-Of\" coordinator Molly.Before the event, Molly met with us multiple times, answered questions, drafted outlines, and made sure we had rock solid plans. Additionally, she independently worked with each of our vendors and even brought to my attention a few miscommunications/errors (on my part) in the plan.During the event, the Barr Mansion staff, including Molly, made sure all things went off without a hitch. Our wedding at Barr Mansion was better than we ever could have imagined. The venue is really beautiful, and they have a few different spaces you can use throughout the day/night. We live in Boston but are both originally from Texas, so we wanted to have our wedding in Austin and Barr Mansion made it so easy to plan our wedding (even from another state)! Not only do they handle many things themselves in-house (e.g., the food, which our guests could not stop raving about, tables/basic linens, furniture rentals, cake), but they also have relationships with many absolutely amazing vendors, so they were able to run with many things on their own (e.g., coordinating with the florist who also knew Barr Mansion well). On the day of, it really felt like she was everywhere all at once - my mom commented that she would look around for something and 5 seconds later Molly would be there to see what she needed. She really made us feel supported and like a part of the Barr Mansion family!Also, we were one of those COVID couples that had to postpone multiple times, and the venue/Molly were incredibly understanding and flexible. I have heard so many stories about other venues that made it very difficult for the couple, and I never once felt any frustration from the venue or anyone about the situation. They were very supportive and so excited for us when the big day finally came, which meant so much to us.

Our wedding at Barr Mansion was better than we ever could have imagined. The venue is really beautiful, and they have a few different spaces you can use throughout the day/night. We live in Boston but are both originally from Texas, so we wanted to have our wedding in Austin and Barr Mansion made it so easy to plan our wedding (even from another state)! Not only do they handle many things themselves in-house (e.g., the food, which our guests could not stop raving about, tables/basic linens, furniture rentals, cake), but they also have relationships with many absolutely amazing vendors, so they were able to run with many things on their own (e.g., coordinating with the florist who also knew Barr Mansion well). She was professional, responsive, and warm, as well as just the sweetest person to work with. Barr Mansion is such a beautiful setting and you have a built-in rain plan and lots of places for great photo opps. Our guests praised the drinks and dessert highly. This is for a few reasons…1) indoor, outdoor, and an open air covered space that you get to pick from. When I say book at Barr Mansion the minute you can, I’m not exaggerating. It was the second venue that my now-husband and I visited, and we fell in-love immediately. Put our names down on the list for three dates, and by the time we got home we confirmed one! One of the things that was most appealing about Barr Mansion was not only the gorgeous venue and the amazing, organic farm-to-table food, but also that they provided so much. Tables, chairs, linens, glassware, et al- all there. Waiters, bartenders, set up and break down— all through the venue. It made the planning process, especially as COVID was wrecking havoc on the wedding industry in general, to know that my caterer or bartending company or linens company weren’t just going to go out of business one afternoon leaving me up a creek without a paddle. It provided a massive level of comfort to my parents as well, who were involved in the planning as well.We were lucky enough to get to go to their Open House about a week after we picked the date to taste some food, drink some drinks, and meet some amazing vendors. It was also at the Open House where we met literally my saving grace, our coordinator, Molly.Molly made Barr Mansion all the more worth it. From day one, she was on my team. If you have the opportunity to add the enhanced package to your day, absolutely do it. She was a literal angel when it came to creating timelines, coordinating with vendors, mapping out tables and bars, and literally anything else you can think of. She was an amazing sounding board when decision fatigue set in for me. I consider myself a relatively laid back person, and ultimately I wanted a party with lots of food, lots of booze and a band. The rest were details I just didn’t care about- but she knew exactly what needed to happen to make the day go off without a hitch. As we watched the weather drop and the day get colder and colder, she completely redid the flow of the day, got heaters organized, walls for the Farmstead contracted, and dinner moved the the Ballroom. All it took was a simple phone call, and she was already three steps ahead of me. Also, if you have the opportunity to do the “family style” dinner- absolutely do it. Our guests RAVED about it. They didn’t have to wait in line for a buffet, but the food was all out at once so no one was lagging off the dance floor. All of our vendors had done a million and a half weddings out at Barr Mansion, and Molly knew all of them. She took care of the band and their needs, photographer/videographer, floral everything. They all worked together on a timeline for the day, so I honestly feel like I got to really soak in the day. If anything went wrong the day of, I still have no idea- it was taken care of by Molly and her Barr Mansion team. She made my husband’s one request for a specialized cake happen, and I’m forever grateful. Also she got red wine out of my dress. I literally have no cons to Barr Mansion. Not one. Zilch. Also, if you have the opportunity to work with Molly, do it.

I ACTUALLY can’t believe such a unicorn of a human exists. Every detail was perfection from the food, the getting ready space & the general atmosphere. From the minute you arrive, you feel a peace. Huge shout out to their wedding coordinator, Molly!!! I have been in a LOT of weddings & I have never seen one as flawlessly executed as this one. Not only did she take care of the bridal party, but every guest knew her by name & viewed her as a Mary Poppins who could handle any question or issue that came up. Not only did she take care of the bridal party, but every guest knew her by name & viewed her as a Mary Poppins who could handle any question or issue that came up. Her dance off with Josh (the DJ) at the end of the night was a highlight for me. Keeping doing everything you’re doing! It’s working 🥰

This venue is an absolute dream! The scenery and all the details are so beautiful, but the REAL WINNER of this venue, is MOLLY! I recently got married at Barr Mansion, and it was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The wedding would not have been what it was without the help of Molly, who thankfully picked up the phone the day we wanted to visit the property. Throughout the year, Molly guided us through the entire wedding planning process, helped us put together an all-star lineup of vendors, and made sure that our wedding was truly the wedding of our dreams. Molly made us feel heard and if there was any detail we were excited about, she made us even more excited. She has a way of making you feel like you are putting together the most incredible event of all time, and she does everything in her power to make sure everything goes off as smoothly as possible. She went above and beyond to ensure everything exceeded our expectations, putting immense thought and care into the days leading up to the wedding and the wedding itself. This meant ensuring we felt confident in the food selection, making sure the lawn was as pristine as possible and organizing everything with the vendors ahead of time. We will never be able to thank Molly enough for all of the wonderful things she did to make our dream wedding come true. Barr Mansion itself is a gorgeous venue if you are looking for something upscale yet rustic. The Mansion provides a historic backdrop and perfect place for final getting ready touches and pictures. The lawn and landscaping, especially when in bloom, is stunning. The farmstead and ballroom also offer incredibly unique options that happen to provide the perfect rainy day backup plans. Also, it is a bonus that it is a zero-waste facility and is constantly working towards becoming a more sustainable venue.We also have to give a massive thank you to Chef Nicholas and Pastry Chef Sarah. The food was outstanding! Our guests are still raving about the food and how delicious everything was. Every dish was unique, tasty, and filling. The late-night pizza, served fresh from the brick oven, was also some of the best we have ever had. The team at Barr really did a phenomenal job. I want to especially thank Hollie for always answering questions quickly and making me and my family feel so special, Debbie for creating incredible cocktails and making sure the drinks were flowing, and Bella and Claudia, who both offered extra day-of support that was positively flawless.

We were married at Barr Mansion on 1/17/22 and wanted to share how appreciative we were to work with the Barr Mansion team. My goal in wedding planning was to make it as low-stress and enjoyable for everyone (family, guests, vendors...and myself!) and that wouldn't have been possible if we had picked any other vendor. My wedding coordinator, Keena, was in contact with me as soon as we booked and was instrumental in creating the day-of timeline, answering all of my questions leading up to the day, and executing my vision on the day-of. I value responsiveness more than anything, and Keena was always prompt and detailed in her replies. Barr Mansion also had rentals available (which were much better priced than local vendors) and handled the catering and cake which was a huge lift off of us. The food was absolutely incredible (candidly, I wasn't super impressed at the tasting) and guests have continued to compliment us on the food! The cake was also amazing! Keena forced us to sit down and eat during the reception which was great (and much needed!). The venue was absolutely stunning and the day went off without issue, we're so glad we selected Barr Mansion and had the opportunity to work with Keena!

Our wedding at Barr Mansion was like a dream -- an enchanted, magical, life-changing dream. The venue itself is gorgeous with so many options to make your day special (I especially loved the strong Plan B, which we were considering until noon day-of during a morning rainstorm). The food was delicious, and every single person on the staff was friendly and intentional about making the event as wonderful as possible. But the true star of the show was our coordinator, Molly, who I literally could not have lived without throughout this process. In the months leading up to our wedding, Molly helped to keep me in line, asking the questions I didn't even know I needed to know the answers to, and giving me her opinions along the way when I couldn't make decisions on my own. In the week leading up to the wedding during the height of the omicron surge, Molly became the shoulder I cried on as our wedding changed before our eyes...and while she grieved with me, she also became my cheerleader, all the while keeping everything moving on her end as our numbers were constantly in flux. On the day-of, Molly executed my vision flawlessly - I was blown away with how she made my ideas come to life, and how beautiful the end result was. And any time I needed anything, she or someone else on the Barr team was by my side with a smile asking how they could help. Molly was my angel, and it turns out I gained both a husband and an incredibly good friend in Molly during this process. Our pandemic wedding was different than we imagined, but it was still the most magical day of our lives. She went above & beyond on every request & thought of literally everything. She was a dream to work with & the best wedding coordinator a couple could ask for. Our wedding unfortunately fell in the peak of the omicron wave, and we had so much changing and things to figure out before the wedding due to covid, I don't think we could have made it happen without her. Barr Mansion has a great network of vendors (highly recommend Eryn Chandler Photography, Blumen Floral, DJ Nixx, Around Austin, and All Dolled Up). Look no further because this is the place for your wedding. The venue is incredible and the Barr Mansion staff go above and beyond. The vibe of this property is a mix of dreamy, classy, & romantic. We loved having a venue that could host the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The outdoor space is ample for the ceremony and so beautiful! It hardly needed additional decor. Our reception was held in the ballroom which was perfect for our 130 guests. There was plenty of room for each table so that it did not look over crowded or like there was an awkward amount of empty space. Our dance floor was packed the entire night and it was the perfect size for everyone. The floor to ceiling windows of the ballroom add the “wow”factor to the venue. It is gorgeous during the day, but sunset and nighttime take it to the next level. The staff ensured that the day flowed flawlessly. The transition from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception was easy. We did not have to ask for things to happen the day of because the team anticipated all scenarios so well. Dinner was fantastic! I have never attended a wedding where I actually thought the food was great, but at Barr Mansion the Chef knocked it out of the park. I had guests commenting on the quality the next day. The event was well staffed and guests did not have to wait long for food to be served. The Barr was also quick at mixing up drinks and the quality of all cocktails were great! Lastly, but most importantly, we need to make a special shout out to Molly. Molly was our coordinator and holy moly is she incredible!!! That wedding stress that everyone talks about was basically nonexistent with her involved. Molly is unbelievably organized and so kind. She thinks of the things you forget or didn’t know you need. She is thorough, detail oriented and honest. She makes you feel like your wedding is the most important and best wedding she has ever coordinated and hosted. We loved the entire experience with Barr Mansion from the planning process to the wedding day. They are truly fantastic to work with and we can not say enough great things about the property and staff.

Everyone at our wedding commented on how beautiful and fun the venue was, how amazing the food was, and how helpful our coordinator Caryn was. If you're lucky enough to get married here I highly recommend using the in house coordinator. Our coordinator Caryn went above and beyond to execute every detail to perfection and make the entire wedding go smoothly. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

Getting married at Barr Mansion was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. It is a magical venue with a ton of different options for the ceremony/reception space and AMAZING food. She is not just good at her job, but a really nice person. She was super responsive over email, provided lots of recommendations, and went above and beyond for us. On the day of the rehearsal, she offered to pick up Mexican wedding cookies at the hotel when we had forgotten to drop them off at the venue (she didn't have to do that), was flexible when my husband's aunt and uncle unexpectedly joined the processional on the day of, saved cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres for us, sent us off with pizza and champagne at the end of the night, and returned the rentals to the florist so we didn't have to the next day. Many people I talked to said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. They also said I seemed so calm - I think this is a testament to Molly and the Barr Mansion team, and knowing that we were in good hands. My only minor constructive feedback is that some of our guests noticed that the catering staff kept cleaning up plates with food and drinks early in the night before people were done with them. Not a big deal, but it did result in a few of our guests not being able to finish their food when they would have liked to. However, a small criticism in light of all the wonderful reasons to book with Barr. Thank you for making our beautiful dream wedding come true!!!

We only toured one other venue before seeing Barr and absolutely fell in love with it. It’s only 15-20 minutes from Downtown Austin, but legitimately feels like you’re in another world outside the city. The entire feel of the place, the greenery, tree, mansion, ballroom, farmstead is all stunning. They have so many options of ceremony, dinner, and dancing set-up that you have plans in place already if it rains on your day. It never was a concern for us, as there always was a backup option. It is an all-inclusive venue so food, cake, bartending services (+ mixers), tables, linens, day-of-coordinator are all included. All of our guests have absolutely raved about our food and how delicious it was. But the best part was our coordinator, Molly. You have the option to upgrade the coordinating service to more than just day-of (we didn’t), but we were assigned Molly as our coordinator and she was hands-down so freakin’ incredible. From dealing with our parents to answering our million questions and requests, she never was phased. She literally eased any anxiety or nerve I had about our day and took all the pressure and stress off of us. She’s an incredible wedding planner and an even better friend!

There are so many great things to say about the amazing wedding celebration we hosted at Barr Mansion with our favorite HIGHLIGHT being the remarkable Molly Mullally, Senior Events Coordinator! We booked this iconic Austin wedding venue in the midst of “uncertain times” with the wedding industry being especially impacted by Covid. Looking back it is SO AWESOME how ALL our unsettled feelings were replaced with complete confidence just a few months later during our first planning meeting with Molly. She is an expert in her field, the ultimate professional with the bonus of having a lovely, relational, intuitive, and fun personality. The way she listened intently to Amelia & Austin (the bride and groom) as they shared their dreams for their marriage, took detailed notes, asked questions, and gave insightful advice far over and above what we expected was like a gift. The very next day she promptly emailed us a detailed synopsis of our discussion including the timeline with assigned action items, completion dates, and her additional recommendations. Molly truly possesses the perfect balance of kindness and execution! After having the sweet experience of giving our older two daughters the weddings of their dreams pre-covid, we felt so blessed to be working with someone we knew we could trust and count on to do the same for A&A! The entire season of planning with Molly was enjoyable and the outcome was just what we hoped for thanks to her guidance. We could tell how much the whole Barr Team enjoyed working with Molly (and each other) on A&A's wedding day, even though it was a big and complicated affair, especially with all the rain! Big thanks also to Margaret, Hollie, Chef Manobianco, Sous Chef Trevino, Pastry Chef Sparks, the Barr servers, bartenders, and all the behind the scenes Barr staff who prepared the grounds/facilities, placed furniture, crisp linens, table settings, decor, lounge areas, and extra bars and then got it all cleaned up! We also appreciate all the Barr team that prepared and served drinks, dinner, wedding cake, late-night wood-fired pizzas, and more desserts that were so over the top delicious that our guests are still raving! Another highlight was the way the alternate rain plan was executed, especially since the heritage oak was A&A’s dream marriage site. Thanks to the Barr Team and Flora Fetish (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) The Farmstead was transformed into a fabulously beautiful nature-filled ceremony site and then flipped back to a dreamy, romantic dinner venue while we were all enjoying cocktail hour in the Ballroom. After dinner we returned to the Ballroom, which is the perfect size for dancing the night away. Brides and Grooms, I can see why you would choose BarrMansion for a lot of great reasons, but having the expertise of a caring, organized, responsive, encouraging, proactive, full of ideas, and eager to help in any way possible planner, who possess the perfect balance of thoughtful kindness and professional execution will make EVERY bit of the experience and expense worth it...plus you will feel like you are working alongside a new best friend!

Looking back it is SO AWESOME how ALL our unsettled feelings were replaced with complete confidence just a few months later during our first planning meeting with Molly. She is an expert in her field, the ultimate professional with the bonus of having a lovely, relational, intuitive, and fun personality. The way she listened intently to Amelia & Austin (the bride and groom) as they shared their dreams for their marriage, took detailed notes, asked questions, and gave insightful advice far over and above what we expected was like a gift. The very next day she promptly emailed us a detailed synopsis of our discussion including the timeline with assigned action items, completion dates, and her additional recommendations. Molly truly possesses the perfect balance of kindness and execution! After having the sweet experience of giving our older two daughters the weddings of their dreams pre-covid, we felt so blessed to be working with someone we knew we could trust and count on to do the same for A&A! The entire season of planning with Molly was enjoyable and the outcome was just what we hoped for thanks to her guidance. We could tell how much the whole Barr Team enjoyed working with Molly (and each other) on A&A's wedding day, even though it was a big and complicated affair, especially with all the rain! Big thanks also to Margaret, Hollie, Chef Manobianco, Sous Chef Trevino, Pastry Chef Sparks, the Barr servers, bartenders, and all the behind the scenes Barr staff who prepared the grounds/facilities, placed furniture, crisp linens, table settings, decor, lounge areas, and extra bars and then got it all cleaned up! We also appreciate all the Barr team that prepared and served drinks, dinner, wedding cake, late-night wood-fired pizzas, and more desserts that were so over the top delicious that our guests are still raving! Another highlight was the way the alternate rain plan was executed, especially since the heritage oak was A&A’s dream marriage site. Thanks to the Barr Team and Flora Fetish (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) The Farmstead was transformed into a fabulously beautiful nature-filled ceremony site and then flipped back to a dreamy, romantic dinner venue while we were all enjoying cocktail hour in the Ballroom. After dinner we returned to the Ballroom, which is the perfect size for dancing the night away. Brides and Grooms, I can see why you would choose BarrMansion for a lot of great reasons, but having the expertise of a caring, organized, responsive, encouraging, proactive, full of ideas, and eager to help in any way possible planner, who possess the perfect balance of thoughtful kindness and professional execution will make EVERY bit of the experience and expense worth it...plus you will feel like you are working alongside a new best friend!

I must preface this 5-star review with saying: If I were to write this a year ago, I would have had to give one-star. There were multiple occasions, after we had already paid over $7000 in deposits, that Barr staff failed to answer our emails. I sent an email expressing my frustration, as well as asking to be refunded for the cost of the upgraded planning service since Barr was failing to uphold their end of the contract. Along comes earth ANGEL Molly Mulally. Poor Molly was just hired at Barr and had to deal with the brunt of my months-long, pent up frustration. Molly vowed to me that she would do everything she could to make things right and BOY, DID SHE DELIVER. We had the most amazing wedding at Barr. Everything ran so smoothly, and our guests had an amazing time. The venue is breathtakingly beautiful, the food is divine, and the service is impeccable. Molly truly turned things around for me and my husband. Even my guests commented how attentive she was and all around a joy to have with us on our day. At one point during dinner, one of my buttons on my dress ripped. Before I could even look around for Molly, she was standing at my side asking what I needed. I truly cannot say enough good things about her, and I can't thank her enough for turning my wedding planning experience into something so great. In short (but actually very long): get married at Barr Mansion, and make sure Molly is your coordinator.

Her follow-up notes were as meticulous as our own, and the speed with which she executed on her to-do items was crazy fast. Secondly, Molly was simultaneously hilarious *and* comforting. At that point in our wedding planning process (~6-8 weeks) we were already feeling overwhelmed at how much there was to do. Molly made it a point to affirm how much we had already done and ease our nerves about where we were in the process. This is what helped us so instantly bond with her and trust that we were working with the right person.So much so that it was a no-brainer to invest even more in Barr Mansion and opt for the upgraded coordination package. We absolutely recommend this!Although you'll find that probably much of the coordination with your venue happens in the last 2-3 months before the wedding, Molly proactively (and frequently) reached out to us to check in along the way. All of our guests had a great time at the wedding and we cannot be more pleased with how everything turned out. Our coordinator, Molly, was incredible! She helped me stay on track with planning, gave helpful suggestions, and was an open ear when wedding planning was getting a bit overwhelming. She is organized and knows what she is doing! Furthermore, we began working with the Barr Mansion Wedding Coordinator Molly Mulally who could not have been more helpful. I am not one to write reviews, but I can not say enough about Molly and the rest of the BM staff. We all know that the Covid environment has been harsh to the wedding business. However, Molly handled everything perfectly. She answered every question we had, initiated conversations and asked us questions about things we would have never thought of, and orchestrated the most special day in the middle of the June Texas heat. There was literally nothing she could have done to make things go more smooth - everything from planning the day to the day itself. I HIGHLY recommend booking Barr Mansion for a wedding/event of any size. I guarantee Molly will blow you away with your overall experience, even more than you will be blown away by seeing the venue itself. My husband and I literally chanced upon Barr Mansion when we were taking a drive to get out during Covid quarantine one day. We remarked at how beautiful it was. So, we looked into it online, took a tour on the grounds, and were even more amazed and just knew that's where we wanted our wedding! Considering it was Spring of 2020 during the height of Covid when we set our date for April of 2021, we had a difficult time figuring out how large our party would be due to safety concerns and how we would manage the ceremony and reception. At first, we wanted to have two different sets of people attending each and although Barr Mansion hadn't done this before they were willing to work with us to make it happen. After time passed and Covid vaccinations started becoming more available, we decided to delay our wedding date a month out until May in hopes that we could just have everyone attend both the ceremony and reception. Molly and the team were again more than willing to work with us to change the scenario and the date for us. I knew nothing about how to approach our wedding but Molly was always so reassuring and helpful in every step of the way. I tend to be very detail oriented and probably drove her crazy with my lengthy emails, but she never blinked an eye. In fact, her organization and response time was impeccable. She has the best attitude and was so accommodating to any need or request we had. Phone calls and meetings with her always helped relieve any anxiety I had going into this important day. When we got close to the date she wasn't pressing on the items she needed to ensure our day ran smoothly either. She is truly a rock star and made for her job! The day before the wedding we had to choose a Plan B for rain. It wasn't my first choice as much as getting married under the large tree on the grounds, which is so beautiful. But, we went with it and it was seamless! It turned out to be just as beautiful and special even though we had to have it indoors. We had about 60 people attend and had the ceremony in the Farmstead and moved the reception to the Ballroom. We even got some beautiful couple and family photos under umbrellas in the rain and inside and on the porch of the mansion, which were stunning. The staff at Barr Mansion were so helpful and professional and approachable. They were alway one step ahead and looking back on the day I didn't have to ask for anything. They already had it. A beer or drink would be handed to us. I told them in passing that I was going to taste my [newly-wed] husband's dish, so instead they surprised me with both options. They worked well with the vendors. Our flowers were exactly as planned as well as the musician and even the timing of the musician as I walked in during ceremony was perfect with the help of Molly. At the end of the night, all of our belongings were already packed up ready for us to move out, so it wasn't too much of a burden on our friends and family at the end of the night. All of our guests remarked at how nice and helpful the staff and Molly were, too. Everything was clean beautiful and memorable. I couldn't recommend Barr Mansion more! Ask for Molly if you can, too! We recently got married at Barr Mansion and it was everything we could have dreamt of and more. All thanks to Molly Mulally, our wonderful, fabulous, amazing coordinator from Barr Mansion. Molly executed on everything we wanted and envisioned to a T. Our families are in the hospitality business and the service we received was impeccable. Dinner was served promptly, dishes were cleared quickly, and drinks were never empty. They floated through the reception without causing any distraction or disruption. We had to move to our rain plan and you never would have known it was plan B because of all of the stunning locations on the property to host a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It was the best night of our lives and our guests have not stopped talking about the venue, the food, the staff, and Molly. Booking Barr Mansion & Molly will be the best decision you make in your wedding planning journey.

She was an absolute blast to work with - so organized and on top of it - and we can't thank her enough for helping to pull off the most perfect and memorable day for us AND our guests. The food and service were top-notch and our only qualm was how quickly the night went by because we were having so much fun! Choosing Barr Mansion for our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding day! They were very flexible and accommodating when we had to move our wedding day due to COVID. Not only is it a beautiful wedding venue but the staff are amazing to work with. Margaret our wedding coordinator went above and beyond. She met with us on multiple occasions, responded promptly to questions and worked hard day of to make sure everything went off without a hitch! So many of our wedding guests came up to me throughout the night commenting on how stunning the venue was. I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day! I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Barr Mansion. Fist, we’re in the middle of Covid and they were so flexible and accommodating and reassuring. The grounds and buildings are naturally beautiful which makes decorating very easy. Also there are so many venue options for inside and out, you don’t have to worry about weather. Our wedding planner, Molly, was on top of everything and always responded immediately, no matter what time of day. She went over every detail with us multiple times and was willing to meet with us in person or over zoom to make sure we were all set. I really can’t say enough about Molly; she did everything, or made sure it got done, and always with a confident smile. The food was amazing and delicious. I loved the cake and really wish I had a piece right now. It makes it so easy that they cook everything for you and you don’t have to worry about even getting the cake there. Also on the food, they were very flexible. One last thing that is unique and impressive is that they are a zero waste facility. It takes lots of work, ingenuity and commitment to pull that off.Any wedding is stressful and a lot of work. This was our fourth (and last!) but Barr took 3/4 of the work and worry away.

We had the best experience with Barr Mansion. The planning team was super accommodating and responsive. The venue was picture perfect, literally, all our pictures are divine! We had a small micro wedding, but it still felt like an event. We never felt like we were being brushed aside even though our wedding was way smaller than their normal weddings. It was so nice to book a place and have planners, food, and cake taken care of. And it's so pretty, you really don't need much decoration. Highly recommend this venue, especially if you are in the market for a COVID micro wedding!

If I could leave a million stars, I would. Every single aspect of Barr Mansion is impeccable and made our wedding the most special day of our lives up to this point. Barr Mansion is timeless, romantic and whimsical. But more than the stunning venue, phenomenal food and gorgeous grounds you’ll find the greatest part, our coordinator Molly M. Her communication is timely, thorough and clear. She thought through every detail I would’ve forgotten and was an integral part of planning our day. She is kind, genuine and planning with her felt like I was planning with a friend. She has a very calming spirit and is truly the best person to be around in a high stress environment (cause planning and day of might bring a few frustrations). Molly makes you feel heard and is incredibly attentive. We were blessed and fortunate enough to not even feel like we were planning a wedding in the midst of Covid because of her and all that Barr Mansion offers. Our big day at Barr Mansion was magical, dreamy, enchanting, and absolutely wonderful! Nick and I initially started off our venue search by visiting several venues in the Texas Hill Country. Although those venues were beautiful, we felt we hadn’t made “that” connection with them. We took a break at a small coffee house on our way back through the hill country where we started flipping through a Brides of Austin lookbook that was on a coffee table in the café, and that’s where we first saw the beautiful Barr Mansion venue! We gave them a call and we were able to do a self-walking tour that same evening so we turned back around and were ABSOLUTELY AMAZED at how beautiful the grounds were. Booking our date was seamless. We were able to attend the spring food tasting pre-pandemic and OMG the food was AMAZING!! We had to reschedule our wedding date due to the pandemic but Barr Mansion was understanding and was able to rebook us without any changes in fees or renegotiation. Our wedding day was everything we could’ve asked for. Getting ready in the enchanting mansion, getting married under the gorgeous pecan tree, and hosting our reception in the dreamy and magical farmstead and ballroom made our big day so much more special than we could’ve imagined. Oh, and we HAVE to say, the food on our wedding day was just as delicious as what we had during our Spring tasting!! The waiting and bar staff, the Catering Manager Noah, and the Manager on Duty Margaret were pleasant to work with and made our guests feel at home, we couldn’t thank them enough. Thank you so much to the Barr Mansion team for helping us create such a wonderful experience!

I was supposed to be the maid of honor for my sister's wedding this upcoming fall. I watched her struggle to plan her wedding with minimal help from Barr Mansion. It's worth mentioning that she paid for the \"upgraded coordination\" which is supposed to include meetings and help from planners throughout the wedding planning process. Her experience with coordination was below standard (to say the least) because her first planner, Dominique, was furloughed and all my sister got was an email that stated she was no longer working with Barr Mansion. After a few weeks of no word from Barr, my sister was reassigned to another planner named Cori. Things seemed to be going well with her but (once again) she was ignored for a few weeks. She called and emailed Barr Mansion repeatedly with no answer until finally the owner called her. The saddest part of watching my sister's wedding fall apart was the simple fact that it was no fault of her own. The owner was very unapologetic and defensive when my sister simply tried to explain that the terms of her contract were not being met. The owner threatened to get a lawyer involved and basically backed my sister into a corner of accepting terms that are clearly unfair. Melanie's (the owner) response to my sister saying she will not be having a wedding because of financial strain was \"well we all go through it\". I have never seen my sister so hurt and under so much stress.

Hi everyone, please give this review a full read if you're considering booking an event with Barr Mansion. I was so excited to start my wedding planning journey and fell in love with the look and vibe of Barr. Like most of us tend to do, I thought to myself \"well Barr only has a few bad reviews, what are the chances that it'll happen to me?\". If there's anything positive that can come out of my experience with this venue, it'll be that I kept future brides from going through the same thing I did. Please don't take the chance of ruining your wedding day by thinking that a few bad reviews don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. I was one of the brides that took the chance and was so so so disappointed. Melanie McAfee, the owner of Barr, was very unsupportive and had no remorse for taking half of my deposit when I was not at fault. To make a long story short, we were left in the dark during our planning process for weeks at a time and ignored by Barr Mansion. Come to find out, when I was finalizing the cancellation of my wedding, I was told by a previous employee of Barr that the owner instructed her to ignore all of my calls in order to \"avoid panic\". If anyone out here knows how to run a business, that is the absolute wrong way to go about it. The worst part was that Melanie's excuse for intentionally ignoring me for three weeks was \"COVID\". She tried to tell me that my wedding wasn't priority because it wasn't close enough (which, to be honest, was the hardest part of this whole thing.. no one wants to be told by their venue that their own wedding day isn't important enough for some simple communication). I was no longer comfortable giving Melanie any more money because my faith in her and Barr was completely gone. We were left without a planner (twice..) and Melanie wanted us to start the planning process over again with a planner that she had only trained for a few days who she claims she \"trusts so much\". Melanie only cared about the contract that I was bound to Barr by and refused to return half of my deposit because she \"saw argument on both ends\". Please pay very careful attention to her contract if you do choose to move forward with Barr Mansion. It states that planners are required to help with timeline and menu planning. The \"timeline\" planning is a cookie cutter spreadsheet used for every bride and I was asked a couple of questions by the planner and just \"fit\" into this timeline. There isn't much room for customization. The menu piece of the contract was not upheld by Melanie since Cori (our planner before she quit) was ignoring us at the owner's request while we were supposed to be planning our menu. The owner of Barr Mansion did not uphold her end of the contract and still took half of our deposit from us without any display of sadness or remorse. She knew that my fiancee and I are struggling financially and willingly took over $3,000 from us knowing that her work ethic and instruction to her employees was what caused us to fall out of the contract.To Melanie (who I suppose will be the one responding to this review), the least you can do is be honest. Using the guise of COVID to clear your name of the awful way you have treated Eddy and I is absolutely shameful. You have placed us in a financial bind for your carelessness and absolute lack of regard for your brides.To the future brides reading this, please don't take the chance I did. I assumed I wouldn't be one of the few bad reviews and sadly I was.

Hi everyone, please give this review a full read if you're considering booking an event with Barr Mansion. I was so excited to start my wedding planning journey and fell in love with the look and vibe of Barr. Like most of us tend to do, I thought to myself \"well Barr only has a few bad reviews, what are the chances that it'll happen to me?\". If there's anything positive that can come out of my experience with this venue, it'll be that I kept future brides from going through the same thing I did. Please don't take the chance of ruining your wedding day by thinking that a few bad reviews don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. I would suggest NOT having a wedding at this location during COVID. The ceremony was outdoors and the seating was not spaced out like we were told it would be. Even though it was outdoors, it was very uncomfortable seating so close to other guests. The Farmstead was not air conditioned like the brides family was told it would be in time for the event. So because of that, the salad's that had been at our table long before we were seated had the dressing already mixed in, we were afraid to eat. And the bread that was on the table for as long as the salads became very stale. Which was unfortunate, because it looked great. However, the steak was wonderful. The rest of the venue is beautiful and I'm sure would be perfect under different conditions.
