Beaufort Inn Reviews

We got married in the Tabby Garden at the Inn this spring and could not have picked a better venue. The Tabby Garden was the perfect size for our wedding (95 guests). Our guests loved being able to walk to the venue, shops, and restaurants from their rooms. Our guests also loved the unique rooms and the history behind the venue. The team at the Inn was a pleasure to work with. They were all very accommodating and helpful with all of our many questions and requests. We are very thankful and appreciative to the team for making our wedding run smoothly. We are looking forward to visiting the Inn again in the future! Reviewed on 08-06-2023

The Tabby Garden is an absolutely beautiful outdoor venue. This is a great venue if you’re looking for the perfect garden wedding surrounded by Jasmin flowers and Spanish moss. Reviewed on 12-05-2023
Rebecca Siira(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-02-2023 What a day what a team! Through the very beginning, the Beaufort Inn went above and beyond to make our event the best it could be. They have so many unique spaces available to host your perfect day-- we chose the rooftop of Old Bay Maketplace. It was beautiful and everyone love the space. Cassandra is top notch and great to work with-- responding quickly and efficiently to all my questions and concerns. I had a great experience and thank them so much! Reviewed on 24-02-2023
Lindsay Harrison(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2022 The Beaufort Inn was the absolute PERFECT wedding venue. We had our ceremony at Tabby Garden and cocktail hour/reception at Tabby Place, which was great for our group of 115 guests (although they can hold even larger groups). One of the things I loved most about our wedding weekend is that all of our closest friends and family were staying at our venue! Not only was it so convenient to meet up, hangout, and be able to easily walk downtown for meals/shopping throughout the weekend, it was also soooooo incredibly beautiful. We used one of the courtyards for afternoon cocktails. Our guests also used the fire pits and complimentary s’mores kits at night. The Fisher Cottage is the perfect getting ready location for bride/bridesmaids (complete with extra chairs for getting ready and a perfect, large closet area with extra hangers for hanging dresses!). The groom/groomsmen used the Caretaker's Cottage for getting ready, which was also great. All of the cottages and rooms are so quaint and historic, while also being clean and inviting. The front desk staff was so friendly and gave all of our guests tours of the property when they checked in. I worked with Cassandra for venue coordination over the last year and a half and she was very responsive and accommodating throughout. We are so thankful to them for giving us the perfect wedding weekend at their amazing venues/property!! Reviewed on 29-10-2022

The team at the Beaufort Inn is very responsive and made sure everything was just right. All of our family and friends who stayed here remarked on how beautiful their rooms were and how much they enjoyed hanging out in one of the many courtyards. It is such a stunning venue and charming hotel. It was amazing being able to have our ceremony and reception all in one place. Once the event was over all of our family and friends were able to just walk back to their rooms instead of having to drive. I can't recommend this venue highly enough! Reviewed on 24-07-2022

We had a lot of family traveling to South Carolina for our wedding and loved how everyone could be accommodated at the Inn. Our ceremony took place in the garden and the cocktail hour and reception took place at Tabby Place. Both we beautiful spots. Katy Harper(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2019 The Beaufort Inn was the perfect spot for our wedding! We had the rehearsal dinner at Old Bay Marketplace and the reception at Tabby Place. The location was great, especially considering that my large family from New Jersey was in town. Several family members stayed at the hotel for the weekend and I heard nothing but positive remarks from them. If you are looking for a venue that can be designed how you like it and is within the downtown area, then this is the venue for you! Reviewed on 03-08-2019

Odetta Delsol(wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-12-2018 I contracted with The Beaufort Inn to have my baby shower event at one of their outdoor spaces on 8/29/17 and paid in full at that time. The event was set for Saturday 10/07/17 at 2pm. We showed up at 12:30 pm to begin setting up only to be told despite our contact we could not hold the event there again due to \"noise concerns\". Mind you, they just had a bridal shower event in the exact same space not too long ago! Their only offer was to accommodate us indoors in a tiny area which was not comparable to the outdoor space we had envisioned. This space offered up was only supposed to be utilized as far as I was told in the event of inclement weather but it was a beautiful hot sunny day. At no time before the actual event date was I contacted with any concerns or anything. Had I had just one day's notice I would be okay. The staff was very nonchalant about making the situation right and thus we ended up canceling and taking the event elsewhere with much grief involved in rerouting the chairs, tables, cake etc. The Beaufort Inn dropped the ball: they lacked professionalism, customer service, and overall tact when handling my event and I am just grateful I was able to find another place to accommodate us at the last minute. Please stay away from this place and take your event elsewhere if you want peace of mind because you won't get it here. Reviewed on 12-10-2017

Mary Ryan Krieger(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 Love, love, love the Beaufort Inn! We live in Beaufort, and it was the best little in town escape. Great to work with. Caraline Tompkins(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-10-2015 The Beaufort Inn is a beautiful venue for a wedding. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all on the grounds. Majority of our guests stayed on the grounds as well. This made for such a fun weekend. It was like a big sleepover with all our friends and family. All the rooms at the Inn are gorgeous with an old school and modern feel at the same time. Very enjoyable. \rWe chose to assign all the rooms to our guests, which upfront sounded like a good idea, but ended up being a massive headache down the road. Although it all came together in the end, I would not recommend this option. Assigning the 9 mandatory rooms included in the venue is a good way to go, and then just let your guests figure it out. You also have to put down $100/room to hold the rooms, which in our case was $2600 to hold all the rooms in the Inn. We filled the whole Inn with family and friends except two of the rooms. So it worked out, but was an added upfront cost. You do get the room deposit money back after the wedding. We did have some major booking issues though. There was communication errors between the front desk and Events at Beaufort Inn, who actually rents the venue. Once all these issues were ironed out (took months to do so) it was all fine. \rCommunication lag time was also an issue. Sometimes weeks would go by before I received a response from Events at Beaufort Inn. \rOverall though, the venue is gorgeous and provides a wonderful feel for a romantic, low country wedding. We loved the venue, and our guests absolutely loved it. Reviewed on 01-11-2015

The venue was beautiful, the staff were really nice and customer service oriented. Loved also the location and that everything in town was walkable throughout the weekend. The only problem we had was during booking there was some confusion over the rooms that we were required to book as part of the venue rental by the staff at the inn but overall no big deal. Anonymous (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-04-2014 Our wedding weekend in Beaufort and at The Beaufort Inn was so wonderful. We arrived on Thursday and most of our guests arrived at the inn on Friday, we truly felt like the whole property was ours to enjoy for the whole weekend. The gardens and courtyards were perfect places for us to visit and catch up and the location made it so easy to explore the downtown shops and restaurants without having to drive. Some of our guests even told us that it felt like they were on vacation! We used Tabby Garden for the ceremony and reception and it was absolutely perfect, we choose a clear top tent so the twinkle lights of the garden and the night sky were both magical!\rAll of the staff were very attentive from the beginning, making sure our rooms were properly assigned to our guests and making sure we had everything we needed. Our families were very pleased with the service throughout the entire process and are happy to recommend Beaufort Weddings & Events and their staff and venues for any wedding event. The location is right near the heart of Downtown Beaufort, which is not only convenient, but also provides for many unique photo opportunities. As for the garden itself: it is very spacious and beautiful. Full wedding services can be rendered around this location, and I strongly recommend looking into The Tabby Garden for your wedding. Vanessa Burchfield(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2012 This is the spot in Beaufort if you want a dream wedding. Although pricey on rooms, it was well worth it to have both families altogether in the same area. Some with rooms inside the Inn and others with private cottages. You are required to fill 6 cottages (small houses) with the tabby garden or you front the bill at the end. It was confusing for some of our guests and front desk to keep up a little bit. Overall though, everyone LOVED IT. I felt bad for our caterer because the restaurant (not owned by the inn) would not let them use the kitchen even though they aren’t open for evenings. Good thing is is that restaurant is moving so caterers don’t have to work out of a linen closet basically. Either way, the staff was amazingly friendly, helpful and the rooms were spectacular. They filled our every need the wedding weekend. Everyone wishes we could redo it just because the venue made the weekend one never wants to forget. I would and will forever recommend The Beaufort Inn. Reviewed on 01-11-2012
