Belfair is a destination wedding venue located in Bluffton, SC. The team behind this private golf community values human connection and hospitality, and will work to ensure you and your guests are properly cared for. The serene location offers woodsy settings with prominent oak trees, elegant dining rooms, and luxurious cottages for a relaxing and memorable wedding weekend. The property was originally built in 1811, on about 1,100 acres of historic land. It was then open to the golf-loving community in 1995, and has been flourishing with pastoral scenery ever since. While the estate maintains a private, intimate setting, it stands within five miles of the city, ensuring all you might need is in close proximity. Surrounding the lush rolling hills of golf courses are 33 acres of protected freshwater wetlands, with various species of birds and other wildlife. Your wedding crowd and entourage will have a panoramic view of robust oak groves and serene waters as you exchange your vows. Belfair offers multiple venues for ceremonies and receptions from 20 to 200 guests. The formal gardens feature an elegant walkway through trimmed geometric hedge designs and a romantic fountain, providing a sophisticated ceremony venue. The Oaks Dining Room is the club’s primary banquet space, with enough room for 200 people and a dance floor. For more intimate affairs, the Magnolia Room gives up to 20 guests a cozy ambience with a welcoming fireplace and classic wall sconce. Servers and bartenders will be prepared to make your cocktail hour a relaxing time while the staff handle your receptions table and linen arrangements. On-site caterers from the estates grill and bistro can provide a variety of scrumptious creations from classic foie gras to traditional pasta dishes. Belfair’s dedicated event directors will be ready to help you with any elements of your big day, from the decoration design to the cuisine selection.

Belfair was an exceptional place to get married! The venue is beautiful, the staff is great and I received so many compliments about the food (we did a plated reception). You are able to do everything on-site with is very nice and makes the logistics a lot easier. Jessica is great and knows what she is doing.I did have a wedding planner as well that helped with all of the coordination. Belfair will always hold a special place in my heart now.

Would love nothing more than to give Belfair a five star review. Gorgeous venue and perfect for our intimate wedding reception. The staff and services were outstanding! The only problem I had came down to Befair’s inability to maintain their financial records for my event. We had made a payment back in March which was withdrawn from our account and had email verification from Belfair that the check was received and deposited. Unfortunately when it came down to making the final payment, they didn’t have a record/receipt on file thus resulting in an overpayment. Jessica helped to rectify the situation to process a refund which was helpful.Still a great venue and would come highly recommended in my book!

A dream come true. Choosing Belfair as our wedding venue was the best choice we could have made! Belfair is breathtakingly beautiful (from the Avenue of the Oaks, to the formal gardens, and the grounds) and so unique; it was by far the perfect spot for our destination low-country wedding. Our guests were blown away. Jenny Simpson, the event coordinator, went above and beyond to assist me every step of the way; from planning a wedding during covid-19 to executing our wedding day without a glitch. I can’t thank her enough. The rest of the staff, the food, and the amenities exceeded our expectations and provided an all around amazing experience the whole weekend long. Our wedding at Belfair felt like a fairytale… I highly recommend!

I am beyond thankful and grateful for the team at Belfair for making our wedding day an absolute dream! From the beautiful scenery to the delicious food to the convenient and stunning cottages, everything was phenomenal! I am especially thankful to have had Jennifer Simpson, Belfair’s event manager, to communicate with throughout the planning process! She made it 10,000 times easier and was quick to respond to my MANY questions, requests, changes etc. It was evident in all of the staff that our day was important and valued, even amidst a global pandemic! I can’t say enough good things about Belfair!

Belfair is a beautiful location-- the oaks at the entry set the mood, and make for gorgeous pictures! Our outdoor wedding required very little accessorizing, because the scene over the marsh was beautiful as it was. Millie Grimes, the catering manager, was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the planning process We received so many compliments on the food, and the few hiccups that happened during the day were taken care of quickly.

Millie Grimes and the staff at Belfair went above and beyond to make our outdoor ceromony and outdoor reception beautiful and so much fun. They made everything perfect. My guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed the wedding 6 weeks after!

Belfair has breath taking views of the beautiful lawn where one of the golf courses ends overlooking marshland and the May River. There are several rooms inside the clubhouse that we loved because it created movement and different areas for our guests to mingle sit relax dance and or eat :);Having the reception inside the clubhouse caters better for smaller weddings. But it makes for a wonderful party. Also keep in mind it is South Carolina along the ocean/river so the summers are hot & humid.
