Facilities and Capacity: Bilmar Beach Resort is located on a beautiful section of white-sand beach with views of open water. Couples can create a memorable wedding on a white-sand beach near the water and beneath the bright blue sky to exchange their vows under an arbor draped with wispy tulle. Reception locations: Crystal Sands Ballroom, inclusive of 2,448 square feet and can accommodate up to 180 guests. Next to the ballroom is an outdoor courtyard, open to couples and their guests. Waves Venue includes 3,025 square feet and can accommodate up to 150 guests. The remodeled beachfront venue offers expansive windows with a magnificent view and the covered patio is right on the beach. Services Offered: Host an engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, or reception at Bilmar Beach Resort. A coordinator can help with services, such as vendor referrals, space decoration, and setup, along with other important day-of tasks. The Bilmar Beach Resort provides lodging for couples and their guests, such as guest room, suite, and penthouse options. We had the best experience at the Bilmar! They take care of every detail, making our big day stress free! We used the Waves area for our reception, amazing! From security deposit to event, Krystn and team were so kind, caring, and enthusiastic for our day! The hotel rooms are updated, clean, and comfortable. All with oceans views, perfect for getting ready for your day! The Waves venue is a great location, right on the beach with accomodations for weather! The food was delicious! Our guests are still commenting how good the food was! And the bartenders were ACE! Denise, our banquet captain, made sure we were fed and taken care of! We could not have asked for a better day!

My wedding was 10/15/22 and was supposed to be on the beautiful island of Sanibel. After hurricane Ian decimated the island, my family and I were left scrambling to find a full venue to accommodate us and our guests in two weeks. Krystn, Danielle and Chef Bill made that happen for us. They were AMAZING. They made our dream wedding come true!! The hotel and beach were beautiful! Everything was clean and the staff was so sweet. The pools were great and so was Sloppy Joes! You need to have your event here! Have your family vacation here! And have your weekend getaway here! It was all around amazing and I can’t express my gratitude enough!!! -Thankful and ecstatic Bride and family

My husband and I got married at the Bilmar Beach Resort in October of 2022. We had originally secured a venue in Cape Coral, FL, which was devastated by Hurricane Ian just 10 days prior to our wedding. Once seeing the state of Cape Coral, and knowing the entire county was without water and power, we started making calls to every venue we could find in Pinellas County (closer to where we lived) and the Bilmar was not only the fastest to respond, but THE MOST accommodating group of people I have ever met. After talking to Krystn on the phone and conveying our situation, she talked with her team and FaceTimed me immediately to show me around the resort and possible locations for our reception. The resort itself was fully booked with guests and events for our wedding date, but that did not stop the Bilmar team from going above and beyond to make our wedding possible. Within a few hours, my finance and I drove down to the resort and were give a full tour of the spaces and guest rooms. Alicia, the front desk manager, worked some serious magic and was able to help us secure rooms for all of our guests - many who were coming from out of town and had various arrival/departure dates. The night prior to our wedding we had a rehearsal dinner at Sloppy Joe's - our servers and the manager were again extremely accommodating on very short notice and the food was DELICIOUS (the Cubans and lobster mac & cheese were amazing). We also ate breakfast here most mornings and always had great service and food. The day of our wedding could not have gone any better - Krystn and our coordinator made everything seamless. Our ceremony took place on the beach and was set up exactly how we had imagined it would be. I even made a huge mistake, and left my bouquet in my room and Krystn is actually the one who caught that I didn't have it - of course I didn't have a room key on me, so Krystn sprinted to grab a master key, to my room to grab my flowers, and back to me in time for me to make it down the aisle. After the ceremony, our reception took place on the Sun Deck - the set up was absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind, all of our original vendors were based 3 hours away, so we relied heavily on the Bilmar to help us make decisions on set up and utilize as many of their existing resources as possible - it was amazing what they were able to put together for us in just a couple of days. The food for the reception was also great - honestly better than the options from our original venue. All of our guests were happy, fed, and danced the night away! The bartender was also fantastic - we have a rowdy group and she kept up with us just fine, even was happy to oblige when we requested to extend the bar for an additional hour. Overall, our experience was wonderful. Everyone at the Bilmar made us feel like family and we can't wait to go back for a weekend staycation every now and then. If you are considering the Bilmar as a wedding venue, I highly recommend them! Not only was the staff great, but we found the rooms to be comfortable and pricing for all of our needs was very fair. Our wedding was a DREAM! 💞 Bilmar was the perfect and most beautiful wedding venue!! The Beach view for ceremony was perfect and the reception at Waves was a lovely outdoor/indoor space! The food was AMAZING! Krystn & Alyssa were so great and helpful! Alyssa did such a gorgeous job decorating and so much all included! It was beautiful and the way they take care of everything created a relaxing stress feee day for this Bride!

Me and my husband got married in May 2022. I cannot say enough good things about this venue! They included so much, the arch, napkins, centerpieces, flower decorations, delicious food, wedding coordinator, and so much more. They are located in Treasure Island, which is a beautiful less populated beach. We had a morning wedding and felt like we had a private beach wedding. We also had a chance of rain that day. But they were very accommodating and did everything they could to ensure we had our wedding outside on the beach. Our wedding coordinator Alyssa was perfect. She listed to everything we had to say and did everything she possibly could to help our day run smoothly. Bilmar Beach Resort, thank you for helping us have a perfect wedding!!

LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! We got married May 7, 2022 and it was amazing. The attention to detail, the food, the service, people, ALL OF IT. We are so blessed to be able to have our wedding here. Tara walked me through all of it and made me so comfortable from a state away. Alyssa was our coordinator for the weekend and she was equally as wonderful. CHOOSE THEM!!!!! We planned an out of state wedding from New York and we are so happy we chose The Bilmar. Tara, the catering manager we worked with from day one, was nothing short of amazing. She was so helpful and sweet. Our coordinator Alyssa for the day of was just as wonderful and helped our day go perfectly. The food, service, venue and staff were absolutely amazing. We could not have had a more perfect wedding and that is all thanks to The Bilmar. This is a gorgeous location and we are so happy with our choice! We had the wedding of our dreams!

Every employee at the Bilmar Beach Resort helped make our wedding and our stay there for the weekend a memorable one. We started looking at venues in April of 2021 and because of the catering manager Tara, we knew that the Bilmar was the perfect place for us to get married. From the beginning of our experience, Tara was professional, she provided us with great information and right away was able to break down how much the entire wedding from ceremony to reception could end up costing. Along with her great personality, we knew we found the right venue for us. From that moment on, Tara has helped us finalize our details and put is in the hands of one of the amazing catering coordinators Alyssa. Alyssa and I sorted out the final details together and she took charge of working with our vendors to make sure they knew who to contact if anything was needed. She truly made sure the entire wedding went without a hitch and helped me when I realized last minute some changes that needed to be made. Then the entire banquet staff also took care of each and every one of our wedding guests which made the entire night memorable. The food that Chef Bill made us was mouth watering and definitely worth every penny! Lastly, the entire Bilmar Beach Resort staff were incredibly helpful with our rooms and parking and any questions that we may end up having. We are eternally grateful to each and every employee at the Bilmar for making our weekend there a memorable one!

Our wedding was perfect and everything we dreamed of. Tara was more like a friend than a planner the entire process. Nothing was out of the question and every request was met and exceeded our expectations. Alisa (our day of) made everything run smoothly and on time. I wish we could do it all over again. All of our guests loved the resort and surrounding area- many are planning return trips! Thank you Bilmar team!!*one side note- were from Pittsburgh and had a “cookie table”. The containers of cookies were just placed on tables after dinner was cleared. My advise for another bride doing this would be have a point person to tray and “set up” the table we normally would in the ‘burgh.

Bilmar Beach Resort turned what could have been a disaster into the best blessing in disguise. My original venue cancelled on us less then 3 months before the wedding. My DJ recommended I check with Bilmar Beach Resort and they thankfully were available! From the first call with Tara throughout the entire process and wedding I couldn’t have been more pleased with everything. The location was beautiful, the staff was amazing and everything was absolutely perfect!

We were married here in November 2020 and would recommend it to anyone getting married in the Treasure Island area! We are from Pennsylvania and toured 4 venues in St. Pete and Anna Maria Island, but as soon as we stopped at the Bilmar we knew it was the one. From that day forward, Tara and Julie were so incredibly helpful. Planning from far away I was nervous about the communication - but they were both so responsive and made me feel 100% comfortable. I never had an email go unanswered, and I truly cannot thank them both enough!We booked a penthouse and then last minute (thank you Julie and front desk staff) booked another so that both parties would have a big room to get ready in and I'd highly suggest it. We did have a small hiccup/communication mishap with welcome gift bags not being passed out to our guests, but the front desk staff fixed it by delivering them to each room.Alyssa was our day of coordinator, she ran everything perfectly! The wedding itself was exactly what we envisioned and more for our wedding day. We upgraded to water's edge for the ceremony as we wanted the beach background photos and to minimize the number of people walking through the background/pictures and would definitely recommend it. And the indoor/outdoor patio right on the beach is exactly what we wanted for the reception - the perfect beach vibe and having access to an air-conditioned room to cool down while grabbing a drink.We cannot say enough great things about the venue and staff & cannot wait to visit in the future!!

We love the Bilmar! The staff was wonderful to us and our guests. I did not worry about anything, as they have attentive, yet uninstructive people helping all along the way. We had our ceremony, reception and rehearsal dinner on property and loved it. Our guest enjoyed their stay as well! We chose a casual theme, but I feel that the staff and venue can accommodate your dreams! Our families are already planning next years gathering too! We were also able to have a Covid safe ceremony and reception, which allowed us to have the people most dear to us present with the peace of mind that they were safe.

As my husband and I go to book our one year wedding anniversary trip back to the Bilmar, it dawned on me that 2020 happened and my review did not! Ugh! I can not say enough great things about our wedding experience at the Bilmar in February 2020- we know how lucky we got to get married right before a global pandemic!Tara, the wedding planner extraordinaire, is a dream to work with! Having a destination wedding (forgot to mention we live in Minnesota) can be stressful, especially for someone like me, and she was amazing! She answered emails...ALLLLL of them....right away. She made changes...ALLLL of them...without the slightest hint of annoyance. She gave amazing vendor suggestions and worked with us on anything we needed! There is literally nothing more we could have asked for from her! I know I could not have had the dream wedding I did without her. Incredible things come in small packages ;)Julie is also amazing to work with. We had 75 guests coming in from out of town and she worked with all of them...and most are pains in the ass! Any issues that came up or changes that needed to be made, she was on it. Multiple people commented on how easy she made booking a room!The Bilmar as a wedding venue was as close to perfect as one can (reasonably) get. To start ALL of the staff we have interacted with (both during the wedding week and the week we went down the month before the wedding) are incredible. They go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be and it shows. The location is perfect. RIGHT ON THE BEACH! It is also perfect for guests coming from out of town. About a $25 uber from the airport and then you never need to leave. On top of all the DELICIOUS restaurants/bars across the street, the 2 restaurants on property have amazing food- and you cant get a better location than Sloppy Joes (which also have reasonably priced food and drinks- especially considering the location! We had our rehearsal dinner with about 50 guests at Sloppy Joes. This is the ONLY time during the weekend things didn't go as planned. Even with Tara's extensive instructions there seemed to be some miscommunications. Well sh*t happens and they did everything in their power that night to make it right and thereafter. Nothing is ever going to go perfect- and we couldn't have asked for them to handle it better. Our wedding ceremony was perfect. The location cant be beat and Tara and the wedding coordinator are with you the entire time (they also wrangled the bridal party- and that deserves a medal in itself). The ceremony décor we used was all from the resort and was perfect. We had a reception of about 100 people at the beach café. It was AMAZING! I can not stress how perfect we (and our guests) thought the reception was. The fire pits are the perfect additional touch. The food was amazing (we did the Key West buffet) and having the indoor/outdoor space worked perfectly for our guests. Special shout out to Denise the banquet manager. She is a serious stand out rock star and we still talk about her a year later! Talk about going above and beyond in multiple ways on multiple days. All in all we can not say enough good things about the Bilmar, Tara, the entire staff and the amazing experience we had having our wedding there. Highly Recommended!!

We booked here and it was AMAZING!! Tara was our Coordinator and I can't express in words how on point she was! EVERYTHING we needed she helped. She kept open communication since we live in Orlando, I never waited long to get a response on random questions. She adapted to our wants and threw us the most fantastic wedding we could have imagined! Our day of Coordinator Alyssa was also an angel! She was so patient took care of all the things I forgot to plan and kept us on schedule. I would recommend these girls to any lucky bride! The staff was friendly and our room was gorgeous!! Not one complaint!

We have been told our wedding was the best wedding by many!Let me start by thanking Tara, Julie, and Alyssa at the Bilmar for making everything so easy and run so smoothly! They were attentive and helpful since the beginning! We had our wedding there 01/25/2020 with about 150 people in the Cafe and Patio area. It was the only venue we could fins in the TI and St Pete area that had a venue with a beach level view of the beach. It was perfect for us as we took into consideration the beach view we wanted, no stairs, an easily accessible smoking area so the smokers weren't missing for 30 minutes, and enough area for children to run around and not bother the dance party! It was chilly out so we had the fire puts going as well and it was just beautiful! My family and friends raved about the ambiance and the food! We had the prime rib which is all made medium well and even though, we like medium rare, it was still very tender! We had a wine based sauced chicken as our 2nd entree. All the vendors that Tara recommended were wonderful as well! We would totally recommend this resort to anyone looking for a beach wedding. We had our rehearsal dinned which also was great on a private deck overlooking the beach at the restaurant attached to the Bilmar, Sloppy Joes. All the rooms were remodeled and super clean and our guests loved the resort! We wish we had another wedding to plan here! We will miss everyone at the Bilmar and cannot wait to stay there again! Thank you for helping us plan the perfect dream wedding!

Mahaffey Wedding! My cousin got married here on 11/9/2019. Everything from the wedding to the reception was absolutely amazing! The ceremony was so absolutely gorgeous on the beach and the reception was decorated beautifully! Tara was incredible! Throughout the entire process, she made sure to be more than helpful, encouraging to everyone, and made the Bride and Groom feel as though there was no need to worry and she would handle everything! We loved her! Thinking of a wedding at the Bilmar?! Don't Hesitate! It was a wedding I will never forget!

I got married at The Bilmar on November 3, 2019 and words can’t express how amazing it was!! Not only is the venue gorgeous, the entire staff was so accommodating and very focused on making our day special! Tara was our wedding planner and she is the absolute best! From start to finish she made our wedding vision come to life! She was always so quick to respond to my many emails, and made all of my requests seem easy. I had decided I didn’t want to use the traditional wedding menu for dinner, rather I wanted to do a beach grillout buffet of hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq chicken, etc. Without hesitation she made that happen and it was exactly as I imagined! She truly cares about her clients and you can see how passionate she is about what she does. :) Julie managed our guest room block, and I’m not kidding when I say she’s the nicest person you’ll ever meet! Whether it was over email or phone she always treated me like an old friend :) and of course she made the whole room block process so easy with no issues whatsoever! Finally, Alyssa was our day of coordinator and she is AMAZING! She decorated our ceremony/reception and made it look absolutely flawless! She is so organized, detail oriented, and creative! She took all the stress out of the day and made it a breeze! :) Thank you so much to everyone at The Bilmar! All of our guests raved about how much fun they had and that they hope to come back and visit! If you want a gorgeous, memorable wedding The Bilmar is for you!!!

Our experience working with Tara, Julie and the entire Bilmar staff was AMAZING. We had our wedding at the Bilmar on October 26, 2019 and it was absolutely perfect. We are from Canada so we had done everything remotely and when visiting here and there. We had been down about 4-5 times while wedding planning to check out vendors and confirm plans but we relied heavily on Tara and Julie for their advice and recommendations. Every single detail leading up to the event was thought out and nothing was forgotten. Every detail on the day of was perfect as well. Alyssa, our day of coordinator, was so organized and helped answer all of our questions on the day of and the days and weeks leading up to the wedding. She decorated everything perfectly for both the ceremony and reception. I had brought boxes and boxes of decor and had a specific vision in mind of what i wanted. It was as of Alyssa read my mind and set everything up perfectly. During the evening, Denise and the entire catering staff were amazingly attentive to every need of our guests. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, experience, and staff to work with. I would do an anniversary event next year at the Bilmar just to work with everyone again! Thank you!!

Marcotte-Sparling wedding. I was the MofB and was so impressed with the attention to detail and courteous manner of all the staff we dealt with for the wedding. From the wedding coordinator to the catering staff they were focused on making the event a special day for all that attended. The food was so tasty and the serving staff were attentive to our every need. A special thanks to the staff that packaged up the decirations and candy bar at the end of the evening we really appreciated it. Would highly recommend this venue to others for their special occasion.

Marcotte-Sparling Wedding October 2019 - I'm the groom, and the only other thing that I feel almost as lucky as, other than marrying my wife, was selecting the Bilmar as the venue! Everything from the initial discussions, to their expertise in helping plan the most special day of my life, to the actual execution, was first class to say the least! I can no longer just love being in Treasure Island without thinking of everything that the Bilmar provided. It's a 5-star rating across the board - venue, accommodations, our guests' experiences, staff, food quality, ease of working with everyone. Thank you everyone!

Just went on Saturday November 2, 2019 to the Bilmar Hotel in Treasure Island, FL for a wedding. The wedding outside on the beach was exquisite behind the backdrop of the sun going down. Tara was most helpful organizing everyone. Dinner was fantastic and danced the night under the stars. Everyone's hotel rooms were quite comfortable overlooking the beautiful ocean.

My husband and I were married at the Bilmar Beach Resort on Oct. 18th as an unexpected tropical storm was climbing up the coast. I’ve always dreamed of a beach wedding and even with a storm quickly approaching the area, Tara made it happen. And it was PERFECT! Everything from the rehearsal to the ceremony to the reception was well organized and beautiful. Tara kept me up to date on everything that was going on and helped this very anxious bride relax a little more. Julie took care of our rooms for the night and even enabled us to check in early the day before the wedding. The entire Bilmar team was attentive, professional, and absolutely amazing! Highly highly recommended!

My husband and I were married at the Bilmar in July, and we had the most amazing experience. Tara was such an incredible coordinator; she was on top of every detail from the first email until we said I do. She kept us on track and organized as we planned our wedding, and her naturally calm personality was a gift in the midst of all the normal wedding stress, especially as we were planning from out of state. Denise, our banquet captain, went above and beyond to take care of us during the reception and kept it running smoothly. Julie was also so helpful during the process of making our room reservation for the wedding night.As for the venue itself, everything was beautiful. The ceremony setup on the beach was gorgeous and clearly done with great attention to detail, and the reception in the ballroom was equally perfect. The food was delicious, and the banquet staff were beyond amazing. Every single staff member throughout the entire process made sure that my husband and I were having our dream wedding, and I can’t thank all of them enough for our perfect day. I highly recommend choosing the Bilmar for your wedding!

We had our wedding reception on the café patio at the Bilmar on 6/22/19. We can’t say enough for how well the staff treated us as well as each and every wedding guest. Our banquet captain, Denise and the wait staff, Nadia and Capron, treated us like royalty! Our guests, including us, are still talking about how excellent the food was. Freddie, the bartender treated us like we were old friends from back in the day and took care of us promptly with a warm and comforting smile. Our reception area was set up exactly as planned and was even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.Our contact through our entire planning process was Tara. Tara, thank you a million times for being part of our beach wedding dream team. We cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us. And also to Julie, thank you for your friendly and quick responses when I emailed you about anything to do with a room booking.Not only did the Bilmar do an incredible job hosting our ceremony, the entire resort and resort staff is truly amazing! We had the best time staying here as did all of our guests. The Bilmar is a one of kind resort. They make you feel like a part of the family. We can’t wait to plan many more vacations with you all in the future!

I got married at the Bilmar on 11/2/18, and although the weather did not cooperate (4 tornadoes!) and we did not get our beach wedding, Tara, the catering manager, did everything she could to accommodate us and our guests. The ceremony was beautiful, and the staff did an amazing job with the food and setting up. We are very happy with the way things turned out, despite our change of plans.

We had the most amazing experience at the Bilmar Beach Resort! We would recommend this resort to anyone that is planning a wedding or wanting a relaxing beach getaway! The Catering Manager, Tara, is by far the BEST in the industry! She was always friendly, accommodating, timely, and knowledgeable. She never said “no” and made our dream beach wedding a reality! It’s obvious that she loves what she does and she makes sure every Bride and Groom has their perfect day. After meeting with Tara we knew the Bilmar was the perfect location for our wedding and we are so glad we did! We also had a wonderful experience with our Group Reservations Coordinator, Julie. She too was attentive to all of our needs and got back to all emails and questions in a timely manner. We couldn’t have asked for two better individuals to work with! They made the venue/hotel part of our wedding 100% stress-free for us, so we could focus our energy elsewhere. We will definitely be visiting the Bilmar every year for our Anniversary and hopefully multiple other times in between too. We feel like we’re at home there and everyone treated us like family. Thank you to the Bilmar Beach Resort and exceptional staff for making our dream beach vacation a reality!

We recently had our wedding at the Bilmar and reception at the Beach Cafe! I loved everything about the venue. The recent renovations and new color of the building matched our wedding colors perfect! (This was an added bonus, since we booked before the reno!) We stayed in the penthouse, which had amazing views of the beach! The rooms were clean, and cleaned promptly every day! There are café had a great breakfast, and Sloppy Joe’s was delicious for lunch and dinner! Everything and everyone at the Bilmar was amazing! We want to thank some very important people who helped make our day perfect! Alyssa Christoff was my day of coordinator and was beyond exceptional! She was there for everything! She did an amazing job, from decorating, to grabbing our flowers just as we were getting ready to be down poured on from the storm! She made sure everything was perfect and it was! Tara Digiacomo was amazing as well. She helped us with planning from day one, up until the day before for the wedding helping us with our rehearsal dinner! Bilmar truly goes above and beyond. Another person who we would like to thank is Denise! She made sure that our reception was flawless! Without her, I’m not sure how I would have made it through the rest of the night! She had leftovers delivered to our room, carried our left over cake, brought us drinks when we needed them. She is one hard worker, and I absolutely loved her! Thank you to everyone at the Bilmar for making our day so special!

Best decision of the whole wedding planning process was booking at the Bilmar! Besides the fact that the setting is stunning, Tara and her team are one of a kind. Tara held my hand through the entire process and ensured that my wedding day was beyond perfect. Julie coordinated all the rooms for our out of town guests and my guests will tell you it was one of the best experiences of their lives. Lets talk about the food! OUTSTANDING. Some of the best food I've ever had at a wedding. Our special day was beyond perfect! I will recommend the Bilmar over and over to anyone!

I recently had my wedding at the Bilmar and it was absolutely perfect! Tara and Alyssa were amazing to work with and handling everything as well as being super responsive. Julie was also super helpful with rooms and getting back to me when I had questions. We had our reception outside in the cafe and it really was amazing. The rain didn't even put a damper on anything.

I can't say enough about Bilmar and our wedding planner Tara. We planned our wedding in Treasure Island from Iowa as we had our hearts set on a beach wedding at an area we are in love with. Tara does amazing things. She was our catering manager as well as our planner and day of coordinator. We started exchanging emails, Pinterest boards, and ideas a year in advance. She answered every single one of my emails quickly (and there were tons) and was super helpful throughout the whole process. Turns out we have the exact same birthday, too , so it was meant to be (had to throw that in there :) ) She made our visions come true. Julie was also very helpful with my constant questions and emails about the roomBlock, hotel rooms, info about penthouses and random questions. Those two are the best! Our waitstaff and bar staff at the reception were outstanding. Everyone was so professional, friendly and patient. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. Tara made sure the wedding party knew what they were doing and where to stand and what time to be where. She, along with her crew, took care of all the decorating and details, and she was in contact with all of our vendors, so there was no stress on me or my family the day of. All we had to worry about was hair and makeup and showing up. The ceremony site at waters edge was so beautiful I immediately starting crying when my dad and I walked up to the aisle. Surrounded by everyone we love, and the waves crashing nearby, it was the perfect wedding and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Right before the ceremony; the sky clouded up but it did not rain!! So it turned out very nice because the sun wasn't beating down on us. The hotel rooms , pools were very nice. We loved going to Sloppy joe's for drinks and the cafe had amazing food! As soon as we checked out of the Bilmar I wanted to go back. We can't wait to plan our next trip there, which willHopefully be in a few months. Thank you to everyone at the Bilmar for the amazing work you do. You made our wedding perfect!

This review is going to sound sappy but whatever. We couldn't have asked for a more incredible beach-side wedding ceremony (and reception in the ballroom) than what we experienced at the Bilmar. We brought in a ton of decorations and the staff set it up better than we imagined. Tara, our wedding planner, was incredibly patient, helpful, understanding, and unrelentingly positive throughout the entire process. The whole thing went off so smooth. The staff was even able to keep some really obnoxious beach-goers from ruining our beach-side ceremony, for which we will be forever grateful. It was an amazing start to the rest of our lives. My husband and I got married at the Bilmar Beach Resort just over a week ago and we couldn't be more happy with our choice!! The first day when we met with Tara DiGiacomo (event coordinator) we knew immediately we had found the perfect venue for our special day. Both my husband and I say that Tara really was the reason why we decided to go with the Bilmar. Tara was enthusiastic, accommodating, and FUN!! I have heard planning a wedding can be stressful but working with Tara made me feel at ease and I loved every moment of it. She is quick to respond to emails and I never once felt like I was bothering her. There were a few special requests I made and her answer to me was always \"we will make it happen because I want everything to be perfect for you\". She worked within our budget and provided an estimate by the end of the first visit which we were comfortable with. I also appreciated the fact that our tasting was included and you didn't have to pay extra for this which is common I hear. We also loved the fact that it was a package deal and we didn't have to go out and hire a caterer, linens, ceremony package, etc because it was ALL included. You even have a choice for centerpieces if you want to use theirs (which we didn't but it's nice to have that option). Julie Slyvester also was a huge help in coordinating our room block and guests were able to reserve their rooms easily online. She helped me reserve the penthouse for our bridal suite and assisted me with reserving tables for our guests for their beautiful Easter Brunch the next day. Alyssa Christoff (my DAY-OF and ceremony coordinator) was also a dream come true!! She along with Tara decorated the reception area for me beautifully and I felt like she was always by my side if I needed her. She made our wedding day go so smoothly but reminded me to step back and enjoy it which I surely did!! To ALL of the staff at the Bilmar, thank you for making All of our dreams come true!!

Bilmar Beach Resort is beautiful venue, perfect for a beach wedding, and with numerous options to hold a reception your friends and family will rave about. The only thing that surpasses the wonderful beach at Bilmar is the wedding/catering staff. Tara, Julie, Alyssa, David, and all of the staff completely exceeded our expectations! We did have numerous special ideas that were carried out exactly how we had wanted, but the small touches and intricacies we had not considered were taken care of by the Bilmar team, and everything was PERFECT! From the get-go we felt supremely comfortable, and the team coordinated with all of our vendors to relieve stress and burdens from my wife and I. Whether you know exactly how you want everything on your wedding day, or you are looking to instill faith in professionals to create a most memorable experience, Bilmar Beach Resort will work closely with you and yours to make your wedding day a dream come true.

I thought finding a venue would be tough, but when I met Tara my search was done...she just makes you feel at ease...I walked out of there knowing our wedding day would be perfect. My sister just had her wedding at the Bilmar (Kimberly McEntegart and Christopher Assen) and it was perfect! As her maid of honor, I know how particular she can be, but the event coordinators, Alyssa and Tara, took care of everything. They were able to help our less mobile guests to get out to the seating on the sand, the made sure every detail was exactly as my sister requested it, and they were so pleasant and friendly to work with. I would highly recommend the Bilmar, but even more so I would recommend these ladies as they made this entire wedding weekend the best experience my sister could have dreamed up. Beautiful venue, WONDERFUL staff!

The Bilmar Resort provided a great venue & ideal location in combination with exceptional customer service & planning assistance. Before the wedding, Tara (Catering Sales Manager), helped us set up all of the venue details while providing us a list of local vendors (DJ, Officiant, flowers etc...). She was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the 10 month process to make sure everything was set up exactly as we wanted and that no detail was overlooked. Our ‘Day of Wedding Coordinator,’ Alyssa, also did an incredible job directing the wedding party/guests and left us with the ease of not having to worry about anything besides showing up. The beach front ceremony was set up perfectly with all the décor provided by the venue. The reception was at the indoor/outdoor café. The waiting/bartending staff was superb and attentive throughout the evening making sure every glass was always full. We could not have been more pleased with all of it. Most of our guests were from out and town and stayed for several days. All we heard from them were compliment after compliment regarding the venue. I would highly recommend the Bilmar as a location for your wedding & reception. They helped make our day perfect! #wattsandersonwedding

We planned our event a year in advance. We met with Tara several times and had constant email contact all the way until the event. Communication was great, food was great, venue and facilities and employees were great. Our guest had a wonderful time. I would not hesitate to book a future event.

My family has been visiting the Bilmar for years, and the resort holds a special place to my now-husband and I before our wedding weekend even occurred. When it came time to decide on a venue for the big day, we opted to leave our cozy Washington, DC area apartment and venture down to warm, sunny Florida for a beach wedding in December.\r\rWe held our ceremony and reception on the beach with the Bilmar's \"Toes in the Sand\" package. There were certain factors that instantly drew us in - the open bar, complimentary cake cutting service and all tables, linens and chairs included were some of the big features. I enjoyed having everything essentially done for us - we chose the final menu and detailed the day, but all of the big stuff was taken care of. THAT right there is a huge, huge time saver for brides who are planning their wedding themselves (without the help of a wedding planner).\r\rI feel, especially as an out-of-town bride, having the ceremony and reception handled by the professionals at the Bilmar was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Kerry and his team ensured everything went off without a hitch and there was no drama or day-of issues that I was aware of. The reception staff was to die for and incredibly accommodating. Anytime my husband or I asked for something - even as simple as a glass of water - boom! It was there instantly. For all of the stress throughout the planning process (trying to coordinate a bridal party, find the perfect dress, create timelines and seating charts, etc), it was so nice not to have to lift a finger on the actual wedding day since the Bilmar team took care of everything.\r\rThere were a few communication hiccups throughout the process, however, all was resolved in a timely fashion and nobody ever had a clue about it aside from my now-husband and me. All-in-all, brides-to-be have to anticipate some sort of miscommunication throughout the entire wedding planning process. But, like I said, it was dealt with immediately and ended up being a simple misunderstanding. No harm, no foul!\r\rAt the end of the day, everything went off without a hitch. Weather was fabulous, the ceremony was everything I ever wanted and the reception was perfect. Our cost was well within budget, which was a huge factor, and our guests cannot stop raving about the stellar service and spectacular time they had. It was without a doubt the wedding I had been dreaming of since I was a little girl!

I have mixed reviews about them. I love the Bilmar, my family has been going there for years and years and will continue to do so but we had our wedding there and dealing with Kerry was kind of a pain. It didn't help that the person we were dealing with left and we pretty much had to start all over again. I feel like we slipped through the cracks. Kerry was not very good at communicating. I got different answers to the same question multiple times and a lot of the prices kept going up. We were not happy with him but out wedding turned out awesome! Everyone that worked to setup did an awesome job. The servers and bartender were amazing. Everything turned out perfectly and everyone had a really good time. He is stressful to deal with though. Luckily we hired a day of coordinator who was awesome and helped pull it all together and kept me sane. So while out wedding turned out perfectly I have mixed feelings about it.

I agree with another person's review - booking at the Bilmar was a rollercoaster ride wedding! We booked back in 2012 over a year before the wedding. Unfortunately there was a change in the representative and the new rep took every opportunity to use that as an excuse as he changed menu prices, menu offerings, and ceremony set up offerings, just to name a few. The contract did state the prices were subject to change, but an increase of almost 20% seemed unreasonable. The rep would not budge. Every contact made was stressful and confrontational; I even received an email that the event could be shut down if any guest brought in outside liquor - a threat that was unwarranted and unreasonable. Like the other person who wrote a review, I was afraid to complain due to a concern about how the event would turn out. I will say the event turned out wonderful and the food was fabulous. The operations staff was amazing! I would recommend them but caution people not sign a contract with them unless EVERY detail is included at the time the contract is signed. The current brochure that is offered at the time the contract is signed is not representative of what you will end up with. I was even told the day of the wedding that items on the website don't represent the end product (i.e. pictures of ceremony arch)! For an event that is supposed to be enjoyable to plan it was a very stressful process.

Amazing, Fun, Fantastic! From the minute we checked in and found out my mom was upgraded to the penthouse suite, the dining at sloppy joes, to the evening of our wedding in the Crystal Sands Ballroom everything at this venue was what we could have asked for. Kerry the catering and sales manager was professional and prompt with all responses to questions and concerns. The ceremony location was beautiful and free from wandering \"beach goers\". Karen- in the catering department was friendly and helpful the day before the wedding running through our food criteria for the wedding day. The locations around the resort to take pictures as bride and groom were wonderful and both suites the mother of the bride and the parents of the groom had were wonderful. The facility was clean, most of the staff was friendly and attended to our every need. The proximity to other restaurants or local attractions was great too. A tremendous thank you to making our wedding day a day we will never forget!

We chose the Bilmar for our ceremony and reception sites and had a mixed experienced. There was a lot of good communication early on and the catering manager was quick to answer our questions to help put us at ease with booking since it was a destination wedding for us and we were unable to visit the site ahead of time. However, as we moved closer to our wedding date, the communication was very limited. Part of this was due to the fact that the catering manager changed and was getting adjusted to the position at the Bilmar. But this resulted in me (the bride) having to send multiple emails to try and confirm our menu in the six weeks leading up to our wedding date and several emails in the last two weeks to get an answer on final cost. I am generally a pretty laidback person and was definitely not a bridezilla; however, some of the emails I received back from the new catering manager made me feel that he was bothered by my emails. In fact, I felt that his response bordered on condescending at times and I had to restrain myself from complaining before the event because I was worried that there could be backlash from any complaints that could impact our wedding. In general, I would have sent fewer emails if my questions had been answered the first time with straight forward responses. I had to ask multiple times when we could have a rehearsal and did not get an answer until a week before the event. When the rehearsal time came around, the Operations Manager was 20 minutes late to show us how things would run (mainly just associated with set up) and we had to rush to complete our rehearsal before another wedding was to start.\r\rThe only other thing that we think we should mention relates to the valet service for the wedding. It was something that did not affect us directly, but seriously rubbed my father (of the bride) the wrong way. There is a valet service fee included in the cost of the ceremony/reception that is not optional. Although you play for this valet service, it only allows for people to begin parking at the hotel starting the hour before the ceremony. The hotel was so stringent on this point that they would not even allow my parents to park there any earlier.\r\rThese things made me concerned about how things would run on the day of our wedding. However, despite these frustrations ahead of time, everything ran absolutely wonderfully when it came to our actual wedding day. Our reception was in Bazzie’s Beach Bar and we loved being able to eat outside under a tent and enjoy the sunset. The reception staff were wonderful, friendly, and made sure that we (the bride and groom) were well attended to. The food was delicious and many of our guests commented on how tasty it was. In fact, the staff asked if we wanted them to put together a couple of to go boxes of our food to be taken to our room for later or the next day. Even though there was another wedding ceremony starting as ours ended, it was on the other side of a dune and did not impact our wedding or reception at all. When we returned to the room, the hotel had left us a bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered cherries which was a nice addition. Overall, we were incredibly happy with how our wedding came together at the Bilmar. If you’re looking for an affordable, casual site and you’re laidback but willing to push to make sure you get the answers you need, then I’d recommend the Bilmar for your event.

The Bilmar Beach Resort was the perfect place for our beach wedding. The ceremony site was beautiful. Bazzie's Beach Bar was decorated so well for our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. The décor they provided including centerpieces and card box fit so well with the beach theme. All of the Bilmar employees from the bartenders to the bell hops were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a penthouse suite Friday and Saturday night that was gorgeous.

My experience with the Bilmar has been a roller coaster, up and down the entire time. Unfortunately about 1 month prior to our wedding, the facility changed catering managers, which I believe caused most of our issues. The initial catering manager would answer most of our questions concerning details, but never wanted to make any formal or written plans until closer to the wedding. That led us to being 30 days before our wedding and wanting to get all of the things we discussed onto paper and then being told everything we were promised was incorrect. Although it took some fighting, the Bilmar DID give us most of the things that we had previously been told we would have. One of the biggest problems the day of the wedding was the staff’s lack of communication/organization. I wrote out very detailed instructions for things such as special meals and for a special cupcake that was to be delivered to my father when the DJ played Happy Birthday. The meals were brought to the wrong people, I was asked many times where this meal or that meal goes and most upsetting, my father’s cupcake was just placed on his table before the reception began and because no one knew what it was for and someone else ate it. My biggest concern that night was when a staff member said “f-ing rude people” to myself and my bridesmaids in the bathroom, prior to the ceremony, and after me telling the GM what had happened, I looked up during my reception and to see this very staff member tending my bar. That is a good indication of the customer service we received from the Bilmar the majority of the time. Bottom line is that it is a beautiful and very cost effective place to get married. The food was great too and the majority of the wait staff at the reception was very good. This is why they host so many weddings, up to 7 in one night. This is where the problem lies. If you can’t imagine running into another bride in the restroom at your reception on YOUR wedding day, then this is not the place for you.

I could not have picked a better place to have my wedding and reception. Eric was amazing in getting together with my husband and I with all the planning. On the day of we worked with Karen and she was on top of everything. We rented out Bazzie's Beach Bar for the reception and it was perfect! The staff was so friendly and everyone kept coming up to us telling how great the food and service was! Most of our wedding guests stayed at the resort and it was very convenient for everyone. Overall if I had to do my wedding all over again I would definitely choose the Bilmar!! I can't wait to stay there again!

We had our beach wedding here and had about 40 guests fly down with us...we are from the Northeast. Eric was accommodating considering 99% of our interaction happened over the phone, but as the wedding approached there were details (expensive details) that all of a sudden appeared! I wish we had a more clear contract to avoid that...during the wedding, the servers were great...the food was average...the location was the big hit...

The Bilmar was the perfect place to have our wedding reception. The staff was really easy going during the planning process, but as the wedding was approaching, everything was discussed and the details were put together. Everything turned out better than I could have hope for. The staff working the event was amazing and the room was beautiful. The food was wonderful and people are still talking about it weeks later (and there were some pretty picky eaters and a few \"food snobs\" there). It was PERFECT!!!

The location, venue and outcome was spectacular!! I did feel like the Catering manager was a bit unorganized but, it was the best bang for buck I could find for my beach wedding and reception so it was worth it!\rThe hotel was just recently updated right before my wedding which was just an extra kicker and it looked FABULOUS!!! \rThe food was great which is nice for a change for a hotel wedding! One Good thing I can say about Eric is that he compromised the menu a bit for me to fit it in my budget which I need for all 145 of my guests! It was changed rather than compromised and we were very happy!\rOnly other downfall is that my bridesmaids and I had to purchase a hotel room to get ready in before the wedding because they do not offer you one. Other than that, everything COULDNT have been more perfect.. But, I also had a spectacular wedding planner which helped a lot with organizing all of my vendors etc.

The day of our wedding was absolutely the best. Bilmar made it extremely easy for us and everything accessible to the vendors that had to come in to set up the ceremony and the cake. Day started off a little cloudy and rainy, then cleared up BEAUTIFULLY! Sun shining, wind blowing and it was a cool/warm 78 degrees out when the ceremony started @ 2pm. The Bilmar staff we're all extremely nice and helped get us started on time and orderly. Inside for the reception the set up was amazing and loved every bit of it. The food was fanominal! Servers when outstanding it was just an AMAZING EXPERIENCE and I thank them so much for the wonderful service they provided us on our special day!

When planning this wedding we searched and searched for a place on the beach to have our wedding. Most places on the beach turned out to be so expensive and in this economy there was just no way to afford it. The Bilmar worked with us in every way possible and made our wedding the best day every. The weather was perfect, the food was fabulous (everyone commented on it) and the staff was on top of everything. I would definitely recommend the Bilmar to any bride. Even though the prices are lower than most beach places, you get more than your money's worth.

We just got married there April 30, 2011. We had about 150 guests. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing! They were the only resort willing to let us have our wedding reception on the beach. They are the most accomodating people I have ever worked with. Would recommend them to anyone!

Our first date was at Sloppy Joe's so it only seemed appropriate to have our ceremony at the Bilmar when we got engaged and had a beach wedding in mind. And I couldn't be any happier with our decision!\rWorking with the hotel leading up to the wedding was great. And they knew just how to start our wedding weekend off perfectly with a fabulous upgrade on our room to a penthouse suite. It...was...BEAUTIFUL! I was shocked when I walked up to the double doors and realized this was our upgraded room. I absolutely love the Bilmar. With the location being right on the beach, two pools, great rooms, food and shopping in walking distance, a beach bar and Sloppy Joe's and Ricky T's right there...you just can't get better than the Bilmar. You just have everything you could possibly want for a wonderful beach wedding weekend in walking distance. We even walked the two blocks to Middle Grounds for our dinner reception. This is just a great resort, whether you're getting married or just getting away to the beach. Ceremony setup was beautiful and very reasonable. Our guests loved everything too! Made it back in time for a lovely sunset drink at Bazzie's Beach Bar before heading to Sloppy Joe's to end the evening with a couple more drinks. I could just go on and on about how perfect it was.

I cant say enough good things about our wedding at the bilmar. The staff was awesome from the guy who delivered our luggage, the housekeepers, the waitstaff, everyone!!! The food was amazing, and the rooms were beautiful. Please if you want a perfect beach wedding on treasure island. You have to use the bilmar! We loved it so much we are going back there for our honeymoon next week!!!

From the moment we met with the catering manager Eric, we knew this was the place we wanted to share our magical day. There were several options we could choose from to host our reception on property including the ballroom, on outdoor beach bar area and the rooftop deck. We chose Bazzie's Beach Bar, a half indoor, half outdoor area which was covered by tents. From the beginning of the planning process the staff saw our vision and understood our budgeting restraints. Throughout the 14 month process, correspondence with the staff was top-notch which really eased my mind as the bride planning the entire wedding solo. Our wedding day was beautiful. The servers were completely on top of things throughout the evening and set-up was absolutely beautiful. Despite the normal \"issues\" that do come up with every wedding no matter where you have it, we really couldn't have asked for anythign better. I would definitly recommend the Bilmar if you are on a budget, but don't want your guests to know that you are :)

The day was really fun. The staff was decent-they made my vision come to life after lots of follow up and reminders. They did ok for my casual family-oriented event, but I would hesitate to have a formal wedding if I were a very particular bride. Mary Tschamber, in charge of room blocks, was not helpful and borderline rude-almost a deal breaker. The hotel is nice, but definitely not super classy.

Tara DiGiacomo (Director of Catering)

After graduating from Slippery Rock University in 2012 with a degree in Resort Management and Tourism and two internships in Tourism & Hospitality, Tara pursued her dream of moving down South to Florida and working within the fast paced event industry. In 2012 she began her career with the Bilmar Beach Resort as an avid part of their Sales team. She has spent 8 years creating over 350 memorable guest experiences for a wide variety of clients and is looking forward to many more years to come!
