Birchwood Manor is an elegant Georgian mansion and wedding venue in Whippany, NJ. Sitting on over 20 acres of lush grounds, this sophisticated house is conveniently located just thirty minutes from New York City. It offers various picturesque settings for ceremonies and receptions. You can also host intimate elopements and romantic vow renewals here. The manager at Birchwood Manor, Farrell Holleran, is on hand to help you make your dream day a reality. She graduated from Johnston & Wales University, where she majored in sports, entertainment, and event management. With an eye for style and paying attention to the details, she is ready to support you as you plan your milestone celebration. The manor has hosted countless special days for more than 50 years, and the team understands all of the work that goes into making it unforgettable. Birchwood Manor has several outdoor ceremony sites for you to choose from, allowing you to exchange your vows in the sunshine. There's also an elegant glass atrium with an adjoining covered patio where you can celebrate with your loved ones. A ballroom, complete with a crystal chandelier, is available for a classic reception setting. The day can start in the manor's dressing room, where you can get ready alongside your nearest and dearest in comfort. The team at the manor is happy to help you with catering and planning, helping to make the process as stress-free as possible. Words cannot express how thankful we are to Birchwood Manor for making our dream wedding come true. From the start of the wedding planning process until the very end, our banquet manager and maitre d, Farrell, made sure every one of our requests were granted. She made the whole process easy and enjoyable and we knew from the moment we met with her that we were in great hands. Three months later, and our guests are still raving about the delicious food. The cocktail hour had multiple stations ranging from sushi bar, seafood bar, carvings, fajitas, to our favorite gourmet mac and cheese and more. I was even surprised by custom ice carvings! The lobster tail and filet mignon dinner was melt in your mouth perfection. And for an exciting finish, there was an endless assortment of passed desserts that had our guests tasting them all. The service was fast and friendly, and accommodating to some of my guests dietary requests. Even though it ended up raining prior to the start of our ceremony, the staff at Birchwood was able to set up an inside ceremony that was just as beautiful. Thank you once again to Birchwood Manor and Farrell for one of the best nights of our lives!!!

Our wedding was absolutely perfect at the Birchwood Manor. My husband and I cannot recommend this venue enough. Every experience working with Farrell and her team leading up to the day was fun and stress free. All of our questions were answered and every accommodation was made to make our wedding exactly what we envisioned. Farrell was absolutely amazing on our wedding day. She went above and beyond to make it the absolute most perfect day. The Birchwood Manor is a stunning venue that is beautifully maintained. My brother and I had our communions there and I got to walk down the aisle in the room my communion was and have my first dance where my parents had theirs. if you have the luxury of having an event of the birchwood, you won’t be disappointed. they will surpass every expectation. Mike and Farrell are the most kind, accessible, and dedicated people I have ever met. They were there for me in every moment. The day is always stressful as a bride- but Farrell made my day so smoothe and fun and I couldn’t praise her enough. They took the time to make our day one like out of a story book. My husband and I were truly on cloud 9- because they considered every detail to make our day as memorable as it was. It was not our first event here and it will not be our last. The most beautiful venue employs the most beautiful people, if your looking for a perfect place- go to THE BIRCHWOOD!!!

We had the most incredible experience at Birchwood Manor for our wedding. Farrell, the manager, made the entire process a breeze with her upbeat and professional attitude. We felt completely at ease on our big day! The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, from the outdoor ceremony to the elegant reception ballroom. The chandeliers are mind-blowingly beautiful!! Birchwood Manor exceeded our expectations, and I can't recommend it enough. A five-star gem for any special occasions!!

We fell in love with Birchwood Manor the first time we visited 2 years ago as the first person we met with was Michael Marino, who was so warm and welcoming from the beginning. Since then, we’ve worked with Michael on planning our wedding and he was so great to work with. He was easy to communicate with, super energetic and full of positive energy throughout the planning, and very informative. We wanted our dogs in the ceremony a lower guest minimum for fear that less people at the time would attend due to covid and Michael quickly accommodated our requests, no questions asked! Our wedding was 10/14/23 and Farrell was our maitre’d. After getting home, my matron of honor, brother in law and mom had nothing but AMAZING things to say about Farrell. According to my mom, Farrell saw my grandpa had trouble with his boutonniere and she, without us asking, started helping him and all the other groomsmen clip them on. She worked with my husband on getting a little last-minute seating mishap resolved (we had some unplanned guests who had initially rsvp’d no and showed up). She was so good with children as our flower girl and flower boy/ring bearer were 4 and 7 and she interacted with them and helped show them what to do at the ceremony. Our day of coordinator unfortunately had an emergency and was not there part of the wedding but Farrell really took over and checked in on us constantly and took charge of the day. My matron of honor said Farrell was so nice and reliable and amazing at her job. Going back to the wedding, our guests couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeous the venue was, down to the chandeliers in the ballroom. Our wedding was unfortunately outdoors but Birchwood was so accommodating with allowing us to use the Grand Ballroom for the ceremony as the reception was already set up elsewhere. We upgraded the cocktail hour to deluxe and with both my husband and I being from Chinese families with high expectations in regards to seafood, the lobster tails were gone instantly as our guests loved them so much. People raved about how good the cocktail hour was, including the carving station and shrimp scampi station. The ice sculpture was a beautiful and elegant touch. All in all, we and our guests had nothing but an amazing time at Birchwood. We have nothing but positive experiences through our 2 years of wedding planning. Thank you Michael and Farrell and Birchwood Manor for helping us plan our wedding and make our wedding day visions really come to life!

From the very moment we met Farrell, we were so impressed. Our son and our now-daughter in-law just got married last Fri. , 8/4/23. We had the most wonderful time and have continued to receive calls and text messages from friends and family who joined the celebration. Farrell had been helpful, professional, acutely attentive and thoughtful every single moment of the wedding from planning to seeing it to fruition. The staff working there is also beyond helpful, friendly, kind and professional. The food was delicious, and I only hope I’ll be able to go back as a guest to enjoy much more of everything (since being a parent of the groom didn’t allow me nearly enough time to try it all - even though Farrell had some foods from the cocktail hour brought up for the wedding party to enjoy prior to heading back down to the party. ‘Great foresight and thoughtfulness!). Given that the weather forecast had definitely called for heavy rain and t-storms, Farrell made sure we would be easily accommodated no matter what our needs would be. Thankfully, it didn’t end up raining. The bridal suite is very large with multiple rooms and restrooms, tables & chairs, & places to have food brought up to us and laid out. I’m positive I’m forgetting so many more wonderful comments about our experience a couple days ago. I wouldn’t for a split second have any reservations whatsoever about very highly recommending The Birchwood Manor, and especially Farrell and her team, for special events. I cannot thank them enough. I wish I had photos to post, but please look at what others have shown. (Our wedding ceremony took place in the back area as compared to the front side when first arriving. It was lovely and more than accommodating of our approximately 140. guests. As another small touch, even the chairs they use are super pretty. Clearly I’m extremely happy. LOL!) Definitely visit and consider this venue. You won’t be sorry.

I could not have been happier with my venue choice. I traveled to several places before deciding on my wedding venue, and Birchwood Manor truly stood out for its beauty, elegance, spaciousness, and most importantly, the banquet manager Farrell. Farrell is a kind, dedicated, and experienced manager who goes out of her way to make your dream day come true!!! I know that my wedding day would not have turned out the way it did, if it had not been for Farrell. I planned my wedding for a while (about two years), and throughout the whole time, Farrell was there, helping me sort through all my questions and concerns. Even on the wedding day, Farrell stayed until the end of night, making sure the wedding goes smoothly and resolving any unexpected issues so that we can enjoy our day.If I am to have any large events in the future, I would for sure come back to Birchwood Manor. The venue is so elegant and well-maintained, and it exudes an air of grandeur and warmth that comes from the fact that it's been family-owned for generations. You can tell that the venue is taken care of with affection. And the chandeliers! I fell in love when I first saw them. You cannot make a better decision--if you are on the fence, choose them without any hesitation. Highly, highly recommended!

Desde el primer día que fuimos al Birchwood Manor nos recibió una encantadora muchacha llamada Farrel quien nos mostró todos los servicios que ofrecía la venue. Desde ese momento tomamos la decisión de hacer la fiesta de quinceañera de mi hija en este lugar, por su buena atención, por la amabilidad, lo bonito y espacioso del lugar, elegante, clásico. Realmente reunía todos los requisitos que estábamos buscando. Farrel nos permitió hacer ensayos 4 veces en el salón para el cortejo de la quinceañera. También pudimos hacer parte de la decoración un día antes del evento y el DJ instaló sus equipos un día antes. La comida estuvo espectacular, los helados, todo. Los baños impecables. Todo el lugar es fantástico. Si hiciera otra fiesta no dudaría en volver a elegir Birchwood Manor. Muchas gracias por sus atenciones.

The Birchwood Manor was the wedding venue of our dreams! The venue is a family owned business and the entire team there takes great pride in making couples' dreams come true. From the big programmatic plans to the small little details. Farrell Holleran, Owner, Banquet Manager and our own Maitre D', made us feel like we were old friends from the moment we met her to the end of our wedding. We had a Hindu ceremony at the Birchwood and part of the ceremony involves fresh rose petals, which our decor artist forgot to provide to us. In the rush of the day, when the families were looking for the flowers during the ceremony, Farrell stepped into action and plucked her fresh flowers from the venue's lush garden so that nothing would be amiss for our big day. We SO appreciated it. The venue itself is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous and makes all your photo and video inspirations come to life. I could not recommend this venue more. It is everything you could dream of, with the significant bonus of the team and staff putting in that extra mile to ensure everything goes off without a hitch.

I can't give enough positive feedback for Birchwood! Michael and his team are AMAZING people to work with. Every request we made he was able to do for us. He went above and beyond by offering us an extended cocktail hour, an ice cream bar instead of a traditional wedding cake, and an extra vegetarian option to accommodate a few of the guests' needs. The food was wonderful and cocktail hour was very robust! The dance floor (newly redone) is HUGE and centrally located in the ballroom which was exactly what we needed for our big families to get up and dance :) This is an extremely affordable venue as well, offering the one of the lowest prices per person during the summer wedding season out of the venues we looked at! Michael was incredibly attentive to us and our guests the night of the wedding and made sure we had whatever it was that we needed (food, drinks, etc). Our families and friends had the most amazing time and it truly felt like we were welcomed guests by the most hospitable family at the Birchwood!

Birchwood Manor was the perfect choice for my daughter’s wedding. The venue was beautiful and elegant in every possible way. The outdoor grounds with all its’ arches and water fountains provided amazing wedding photos opportunities and lovely outdoor seatings for our guests. The cocktail hour with all the variety of delicious options and amazing active cooking stations received impressive compliments from all our guests. The main venue hall was just beautiful and large and had one of the largest dance floors, a great guest seating and a stage setting for the sweetheart table and back drops. But the most impressive and special highlight about Birchwood Manor was Farell (the venue coordinator). Farell is the sweetest, most accommodating and loveliest human being. My daughter and her husband cannot stop talking about Farell’s kindness and accommodations to them especially that they are both from out of state and have inflexible schedules. She worked with them around their schedules and helped coordinate with all their vendors appointments. She was excited for their big day as any close member of our family. Farell made a big impact on all of us and made my daughter’s wedding experience very smooth and extra special. We can’t thank her enough.

Birchwood Manor was the perfect choice for my daughter’s wedding. The venue was beautiful and elegant in every possible way. The outdoor grounds with all its’ arches and water fountains provided amazing wedding photos opportunities and lovely outdoor seatings for our guests. The cocktail hour with all the variety of delicious options and amazing active cooking stations received impressive compliments from all our guests. Considerable time was spent searching for just the right venue. After reviewing about a half dozen places, we settled on The Birchwood Manner. We could not have possibly made a better choice of venue & our guests agreed as many of them expressed positive comments throughout the evening. There was absolutely nothing lacking where quality & class are concerned.The family-run facility was prepared to handle everything. The Birchwood provides easy access & parking for several hundred guests. The property grounds are adorned with picturesque fountains & beautifully manicured statue gardens which provided excellent photo opps. Inside the facility, elegant lighting provided a warm glow to the charming mansion style architecture. A grand staircase leads to the 2nd floor, but an elevator is available. Thanks to the COVID nuisance, our wedding had been postponed several times. Nevertheless, the owner & Manager Michael Marino was very patient & extremely pleasant to work with, as he remained on standby for our event for over a year. Sitting down with Michael in his office on several occasions always felt like we were all old friends getting together to chat. As plans progressed, we eventually left his office feeling that there was little or nothing that he would say NO to. Everything from pre-event setups to post-event takedowns was thoughtfully planned out & carefully executed. Being a foodie of sorts, my primary interest was in their menu, & in most cases the food was to die for. The cocktail hour included a wide variety of mouth-watering morsels. That alone could have satisfied me for the evening, & I needed to be reminded that a 4-course dinner was to follow. If anyone left there hungry, it was their own fault. The food was expertly prepared & artfully plated. In advance, we picked out 3 entrees, so that our guests could place their orders from their table. They prepared a wedding cake based on our specs & used our topper. Guests were treated to much more than just a bite of cake. On each plate was a slice of wedding cake flanked by chocolate covered strawberries, along with an edible candy dish filled with syrup topped ice cream. Talk about decadence! Even though Michael had to leave shortly after we made our entrance, he left us in the very capable hands of his niece Farrell, who was our maitre d’ for the evening. She was obviously a chip off the old block. I’ve been around for more than 60 years, yet I don’t think I’ve ever met a kinder sweeter more thoughtful young woman. We were also very appreciative of how, without any prompting from us, she zeroed in on my wife’s 91 year old mother & personally tended to her needs for the evening. All in all, it was a lovely event & by all accounts, everyone had a good time. A few days later we returned to the Birchwood to gather left behind items. When we got there, Michael & Farrell met us in the lobby & had already packed our things for us. They helped load the car & then chatted for about a half hour. Suddenly Michael rushed inside & came back out with a bottle of champagne which he tucked into the trunk of our car. Is that classy or what? Finally there was a round of hugs & handshakes, then off we went. Somehow I think we also made some new friends that day. In any event, pleasant memories were created that will last a lifetime & should we ever again find ourselves in need of a banquet facility in this area, Birchwood Manor gets the job! It is truly a North Jersey treasure.

We were looking for an outdoor venue to have our party, and we knew right away that this would be a lovely setting, because the grounds are really beautiful. It is like having your own personal garden overlooking a mansion. Although it ended up raining during our entirely outdoor event, we had a tent set up with a beautiful fountain, plantings, and the grand entrance to Birchwood Manor as our backdrop. The setting was so beautiful that, even though it rained, it did not spoil a thing!Everyone raved about the food, the setting, the service, and the decor. There was nothing I needed to do to decorate the tent, aside from bringing some flowers. It looked just fabulous with Birchwood Manor's table settings and the backdrop of the grounds!Throughout the planning process, Farrell was always responsive to my requests and available to help me plan for the contingencies of a COVID party. Birchwood Manor was flexible with the minimum number of guests they required and very understanding of the unpredictability of COVID. Farrell was incredibly on top of every detail and honestly, I was entirely stress-free throughout the party, knowing that she had everything covered.I cannot recommend Birchwood Manor more highly! I can confidently say you will be in the best hands. Several of my guests are already considering booking a party with them. And I would come back again in a heartbeat! I have been told that Birchwood Manor has many repeat customers and groups that regularly host parties there. I can completely understand why! If you are able to book your event here, this is the place to do it! I am thrilled that we decided to have our party here, and we have wonderful memories of the day.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful throughout the party and the planning.Farrell is the banquet manager and was our point of contact. She was wonderful to work with and made the whole process so easy. Even up to the day before she was still working with us and moving tables around to accommodate our last minute cancelations. Her alone and how easy she made everything is reason enough to have it there. The staff also made sure that every drink and alcohol we wanted would be provided and gave us many choices to accommodate people with dietary restrictions. The night turned out amazing and my wife and I couldn't be happier.

Michael, Farrow and his whole team were amazing, super responsive with any questions we had, very professional and they paid attention to details. The venue is beautiful! After having to postpone a few times due to Covid when we went back to finalize everything Eddie and I fell In love again with the venue the water fountains, gardens & scenery are amazingly beautiful! The reception was done beautiful and romantic yet inviting to party. The food OMG everyone talked about how all the food was delicious and the service was great! Michael makes you and your guest feel welcome! This was our dream wedding venue... thank you Michael, Farrow and your whole team!

Words cannot begin to describe just how completely wonderful this family owned establishment is to host your next event! The Birchwood Manor is a hidden gem lying within the heart of Morris County. Michel Marino III and his niece Farrell are truly exceptional treasures within the event planning industry that go above and beyond to ensure that no request or detail is too great to bring to life, holding true to the beliefs of the Birchwood Manor; that events should be legendary. Michael Marino III and his staff not only made my wedding day legendary but more importantly they made my dream of an elegant Christmas wedding come true and provided an unforgettable experience with memories that will last a lifetime. My parent’s chose the Birchwood Manor thirty years ago for their wedding reception too. They loved the grand entrance and elegant touches throughout. My husband-to-be and I immediately felt that same sophistication and that’s why we chose it for our own wedding. My husband and I hope that the Birchwood Manor will remain a tradition in our family and one day perhaps one of our children will also fall in love with the charm of this glorious estate! Birchwood is a very beautiful venue, its outdoor spaces is exceptional, especially in the warm seasons. Something else unique to Birchwood is that the person in charge of it doesn't just view her role as the provider of a physical space and genuinely cares about your wedding experience. She did a great job facilitating and coordinating with the large number of guests and addressing issues as they came up during the day. We felt she went above and beyond what a typical venue manager defines as his/her role. We can't recall a single negative feeling from that day. Would recommend to anyone we care about!

After years of having different events at The Birchwood Manor, we had the distinct pleasure of getting married there! There is not enough good things I could say about the space itself and the staff. We had an interfaith wedding in the large pergola and it was such a beautiful choice. The pergola is a beautiful space on it's own but with the help of the staff, it was transformed into such an elegant and expansive space to fit my almost 200 guests to witness our marriage! So so lovely. And what a great backdrop for photos. If you are looking for a venue with incredible food, look no further. My guests were blown away by the expanse of delicious food with such an awesome presentation. We had the deluxe cocktail hour and they really delivered. If food is what you want to splurge on, do it here. Our reception was in the grand ballroom which is such a timeless and elegant space. Michael and Farrel did such an amazing job helping me transform the space with my decor. The thing that really blew me away was how the staff went so above and beyond to help the day beautiful and stress free as possible. They took time to do little details for me on my sweetheart table and even custom designed table numbers for me (which I forgot). They were so attentive and communicative during the reception it really made us feel special... like we were royalty! My guests were talking about the elegance of the whole day and the food for weeks after. Highly recommend this for any event but if you looking for an indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception, look no further.

25 years ago we got married at Birchwood Manor because it was the most beautiful venue of its time. We had 600 guests and it was one of the first Indian weddings to take place at Birchwood. So when it came time to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, it was important to relive those special memories. We brought back all our guests along with the same vendors from our wedding. It was a wonderful and magical reunion. All thanks go to the 3 generations of family ownership at Birchwood. They took magnificent care of us back then, and they did it again now!

My first experience at Birchwood Manor was at a friend’s wedding. When my husband proposed months later, we tried to find another venue since we didn’t want to copy that other couple. But it was truly meant to be because we didn’t find another venue that we liked as much as Birchwood. We envisioned our wedding there so much that we called and booked it. The food was delicious, their dance floor was the perfect size for our guests and the grounds were beautiful. It was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. If you are looking to get married or have another kind of event, I recommend Birchwood Manor.

The folks at Birchwood manor are total professionals and made our wedding day absolutely fantastic. They're always professional, courteous, and kind. Their service is impeccable and the food is out of this world. The grounds there are stunning, be sure to explore the place a little before the big day. There's many nooks and crannies and larger areas all around to inspire great photo ideas, try take full advantage of them with your photographer. They have wonderful areas on site if you're looking to have your ceremony there as well, in case you want everything done at one venue. Their ballrooms are beautiful and are decorated with breathtakingly gorgeous chandeliers. Don't be shy if there's anything you want, just ask about it and I'm sure they'll be more than able to accommodate whatever you may need as they did for my wife and I. From custom ice sculptures to a very custom and wonderfully decorated (not to mention delicious) cake, they helped make our day that much more special. If there's anything else I can say is that when you're there as a guest at a wedding, as we were a year prior to our own, hosting there yourself, or just visiting for an appointment, they make you feel like family. We can't wait to come back to host another event, hopefully a baby shower sometime soon!

There is nowhere else in the metro area I would ever even think about holding an event after our amazing experience for our son's Bar Mitzvah this past weekend. To say that Farrell and her team went above and beyond is a vast understatement. Everything, and I really do mean everything, was perfect. They took on a huge challenge (with only about 5 weeks to prepare) and helped us account for every detail that made our son's huge day perfect and so much fun. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is top notch!

I was looking for a venue that had both beautiful outside grounds and a beautiful interior. Birchwood's outside ceremony area is unmatched in Northern New Jersey, that was the first part that had us in awe when we first toured. Then we saw the grand ballroom and we knew we found our wedding venue. The pictures don’t do the place justice, you have to go see yourself to feel the grandeur of the place. After speaking to Michael (who is the absolute best) the deal was signed and sealed and we don’t regret it! We can’t thank Michael and Farrel enough for making our special night magical.

Karen and I were simply astounded by how perfect our wedding reception evolved at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, From the very first time we spoke with Farrell and Mike right through to the completion of our spectacular evening, they and the staff were absolutely fabulous! We were treated with great interest in our theme (we were married on the moon landing 50th anniversary) and cooperation, diligence, and patience to help create and fulfill our dream event.We were treated like family (maybe royalty is a better description)! Prior to our big day, Mike and Farrell were always available to answer questions and provide experienced guidance. During the event, the staff did a wonderful job and were most unobtrusive. The food was magnificent with an amazing variety of choice delicacies, much to the delight of our guests. We received so many compliments on the beautifully decorated rooms, the food, and the staff! I cannot express enough the wonderful experience my husband and I had at Birchwood Manor for our multicultural wedding! From the very beginning, our Maitre D’ Farrell was so welcoming, patient, and professional. Our wedding was the first for both of our families, so it was extremely helpful having a calm and confident wedding coordinator to guide us through all the planning stages. Farrell brought the calming energy we needed, making the planning process very enjoyable.The venue is beautiful! Our guests commented on the charming and elegant décor, as well as the breathtaking outdoor landscaping. We really felt like winners finding a venue that was beautiful both indoors and outdoors!We got married on June 23, 2019. Our wedding day was absolutely PERFECT! Farrell did an amazing job keeping us on schedule. She was extremely attentive and made sure we had time for the things we planned, such as sneaking away for a brief nighttime photo session. The Birchwood staff did an excellent job transforming the event space for our ceremony and reception. All the rooms at Birchwood are gorgeous. We especially loved the Greenery, an atrium surrounded by plants, with sunlight pouring in through large windows. This was definitely a unique space for our cocktail hour. The Jefferson ballroom was the perfect room for our ceremony and reception. Our families and friends love to dance, and the spacious ballroom gave us a comfortable space—even when our entire party was out on the dance floor! We were lucky to have beautiful weather and enjoyed taking photos outside by the fountains and archways. All the food provided by Birchwood Manor (cocktail hour, dinner, dessert and cake) was AMAZING and our guests noted that as well. It was such a pleasure working with Farrell and the entire Birchwood team! You can tell they love what they do and genuinely care about making your day unforgettable. We highly recommend them!!!

She also made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of and kept all our vendors in check. My father kept commenting on how good she was. The food on the day of was spectacular. We did a chocolate fountain add on which turned out amazing and everyone raved about the cake, which was designed to a T based on the photograph provided. The grounds at Birchwood are just beautiful. Our wedding was in October and we were worried about the weather. Nevertheless, we were able to have our wedding outside, although a solid plan B option was made available. All-in-all Birchwood made our wedding day a truly special and beautiful day and I would not have changed anything and certainly wouldn’t have picked anywhere else to have my wedding. One thing in particular that I liked about Birchwood was that they worked with me and my husband as far as the size of our party went and did not make us feel like our wedding was inferior because it was on the smaller size unlike other venues.

They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and make you feel assured that your event will be beautiful and go as smoothly as you want it. The grounds are simply gorgeous with a classic and timeless beauty. I’ll be having an outdoor wedding strictly because their outdoor spaces are so grand and unique. I’ve had a party in alimony every room, each more beautiful then the next. When we were looking for venues that would hold our large # of guests, and have our date available, it almost felt too good to be true that Birchwood had both.Working with Michael Marino throughout the planning process was fun and so easy. He was attentive, took everything we wanted into consideration and made sure to note down everything. The venue inside is spectacular with the ambiance of an old mansion, the lighting and stage are majestic and make the best for pictures. The outside scenery is beautiful for pictures before the event, and i'm so glad we got a perfect weather day to take advantage of all that Birchwood has to offer!The staff was kind and helpful the day of the event and leading up to it. I had my wedding reception at the Birchwood Manor on May 5th 2018. My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. Micheal Marino took care of us during the planning process and was very patient even when I would ask a million questions. He also made sure to answer my emails in a timely manner and was such a pleasure to work with during everything. Farrell Holleran was our Maitre d' and she was amazing! She made sure everything was perfect and that we didnt have to stress over anything. And we didnt stress one bit. We had the Venetian Hour for dessert and we were surprised with sparklers when they brought out all the desserts. We received nothing but the greatest compliments from our guests on how wonderful the wedding reception was at the Manor. Not to mention there gorgeous staircase. They had another event in the room down the hall from us and you would have never known because they ran things incredably well so that you felt like you were top priority. The Birchwood Manor is a stunning location for a wedding and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful! Simply wonderful! Top 3 reasons:1. The place is stunning. There is a variety of inside rooms/halls that is great for indoor weddings as well as different cocktail lounges. Some rooms are very lavish and others have a very unique feel to it. The pictures does not do it justice! I was fortunate to have come across this place by accident in a magazine and visiting it just blew my expectations away. I used the Ann Farrell room, which was my now husband's favorite room.2. The pricing is very good. As a young couple, we wanted to pay the wedding ourselves so our budge was limited. Birchwood worked with us to help design our beautiful wedding and helping us stay in budget. Other places we visited kind of gave us a \"cold shoulder\" when we said we didn't have 100 or 150 guests planned.3. The process. The process to design the wedding and working with Birchwood was very easy. They were on time in answering emails and getting back to me about details. I felt that even though my wedding was small, I was treated with the utmost respect. This can tell you alot about the people you are working with. The food and service were excellent as well. From the moment I stepped on the property of the Birchwood Manor I knew that I wanted to be married there. It was a sunny day and I was in awe of the gorgeous gardens and extraordinary fountains. I knew it was the perfect backdrop for all of my wedding photos. Once I met the owner Michael Marino it was a done deal. He was so accommodating and beyond helpful. We became quick friends. He didn’t push me off on assistants when I called but took the time to go over every important detail of our very special day. When he was unavailable, MD stepped in to make sure nothing was overlooked. These two made the ideal team of wedding planning perfection. They put my mind at ease every step of the way and ensured that I enjoyed the planning process.We were married Aug 13, 2016 on The East Lawn. The Pergola was just divine as our Ceremonial Site. The area looked nothing short of amazing. Then we went on to a Cocktail Hour in The Jefferson Ballroom that was fit for Royalty. Our guests could not believe the magnificent spread. The presentation was artistic and inviting. Every morsel was tastier than the next. The chefs had really outdone themselves. Our reception was in The Grand Ballroom. The dim lit chandeliers and candles made it a very romantic and elegant setting to continue our celebration as husband and wife. Its grand size left more than enough room for our 225 guests, dining tables, photo booth, DJ, and colossal dance floor which was packed all night long!The staff at The Birchwood worked together so efficiently that our day was absolutely flawless. Our wedding was the spectacular event that I always dreamed it would be. Our family and friends continue to talk about the beauty of the venue, sensational staff, and delicious food! Amazing service and the quality is amazing! Great place! Also gorgeous grounds! I had the most amazing day and the staff was a huge part of that! Accommodating and friendly all around! Plus the food was AMAZING!!

I cannot begin to explain how amazing our wedding reception at the Birchwood Manor was. If I could go back and do it over again I would. Working with the staff was easy and straightforward, they informed us of everything we needed to do, leading up to the day, and on the day of, our maitre d made everything SO effortless. From the cocktail hour to the cake cutting he was able to coordinate myself and the groom as well as guests without being over bearing. Food and drink were amazing and all of our guests said it was the best party they have ever been to! I would recommend the Birchwood Manor to anyone hosting an event.

Our wedding on March 18,2016 at The Birchwood Manor was beyond perfect. Michael Marino, Mike (MD), Farrell, Jason, chefs, kitchen staff, wait staff, and the rest of the crew truly outdid themselves! The planning process was easy with Michael. His years of experience helped put us and our parents at ease and took lots of stress off of our plates. The cocktail hour was out of this world. Many of our guests thought it was dinner. Little did they know that they had a salad, a pasta course, an entree, and an array of desserts awaiting for them in the ballroom. The Grand Ballroom at Birchwood is absolutely breathtaking. The windows, exquisite chandeliers, crisp linens, and massive dance floor was just what we were looking for for our large wedding. The food was better than we imagined we would be able to get at any reception hall. There were so many choices when it came to picking our menus. People are still telling us how wonderful the food was and how much they ate. Our guests were full and happy all night long thanks to the Birchwood Manor chefs. I could go on forever and I want to share every detail, but just know you won't be disappointed when you book your wedding here. They have been in the business for a long time and their experience makes all the difference in a good wedding and a PERFECT wedding like ours. THANK YOU, BIRCHWOOD AND MARINO FAMILY! From the first meeting up until our wedding day, working with Birchwood Manor was a true pleasure! After seeing the glamorous Jefferson Ballroom and the beautiful outdoor gardens, we knew this was the perfect venue for our upcoming Spring 2015 wedding. Throughout the planning process, we had the privilege of working with Robert, the banquet manager, who was very knowledgeable and upfront with us from the start, so we knew we could trust his expertise and guidance. \r\rAs the wedding day approached, the Birchwood Manor staff made everything so easy for us, working with all of our vendors to make sure everything was executed seamlessly when the big day came. When the wedding day arrived, we were floored by how perfectly it all went, thanks to the wonderful help of the staff. The ballroom was decorated beautifully, the outdoor grounds looked spectacular, and the food was truly out of this world! It was everything we had hoped it would be, and so much more. The maitre d', wait staff and bartenders all did an excellent job and were so attentive to everyone's needs, especially us, as the newlyweds. They even made sure they had our special Prosecco for us, and that our glasses were always full. \r\rEven now, weeks later, our guests are still raving about what an amazing time they had, and how the food was the best they've ever had at any wedding! Looking back fondly on our special day now, we agree that there is nothing we would change, and we are so thrilled that we made the decision to hold our wedding at Birchwood Manor!

Their prices were far better than most, especially for what you get. If you are getting married anywhere near there, you shouldn’t look anywhere else. I can’t imagine we were an easy couple to deal with, but they were patient and accommodating the entire way. Robert helped us through the whole process and the rest of the staff was perfect. Our guests were really impressed with how beautiful the wedding was and how delicious the food was. Service was impeccable. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled with the Birchwood. Perfect night for a reasonable price.

From the moment we sat with Michael to packing up the car after our wedding, he was there with a smile on his face willing to assist any way possibe. All of the staff was helpful during the process and the day of. Our maitre d always assured us (bride/groom) we were comfortable. \rThe venue is picturesque, the food is FANTASTIC, and they make everything seamless. The landscaping here is just gorgeous. You won't find many places in North Jersey with such beautiful grounds outdoors. We luckily had good weather and our ceremony was held outdoors in Gazebo. It was absolutely beautiful and very green. If it had to be moved indoors, however, I don't think it would have the same feel. This is very important to consider and a big risk I took. Not sure if I would take the same risk if I were to do it all over again. The main ballroom- while the chandeliers are gorgeous, the wallpaper is outdated and the chairs are also a little old looking. The Jefferson room is a little better as it has a nice mural on the walls. My reception was held in the main ballroom and we had blue LED up-lighting and chair covers to help with the issues but that's also additional expense. The bathrooms also need to be revamped. If the indoors had a makeover, this place would be perfect. My ceremony was far more beautiful than reception, despite the decor for both. I have to say, however, the staff here is great. Robert was very responsive and answered my millions of questions, particularly as the wedding date neared. Michael who is more of the \"nuts and bolts\" guy and will help with floor plans, etc. was also very helpful toward the end. I went to visit several times and they were very accommodating. On the day of my wedding, the staff was also attentive, particularly to myself (the bride) and groom. They made sure we were taken care of. I found myself feeling very tired at some point in the middle of the day (the ceremony was in the morning with a break in the middle of the day) and they brought me coffee and one of the staff members even drove to some store to get me red bull because I mentioned the coffee wasn't working! The maitr'd, Jason, was also great and very helpful. There was a fiasco with the cake vendor not showing up till very late and Birchwood's kitchen put together a last minute cake for us. My only qualm with this place is that they only give you a five hour window to have your party. It didn't feel like enough. They also won't split the open bar hours (i.e. have it be closed during entrances/speeches/etc). I suppose your wedding day will always feel too short regardless of the number of hours, though!

If we could give 10 STARS we would!!! I really can't even begin to describe how wonderful the Birchwood Manor made our wedding. They totally and completely blew any expectations we would ever have had, and created the best party! My parents got married at the Birchwood Manor 34 years ago, so it did hold a special place in our hearts to begin with, but it couldn't have been more amazing of an experience. This family owned venue feels welcoming from the get go.\r\rNot only are the Maitre' d's the best in the business, everyone employed there was happy, helpful and finessed everything with love. From the initial meetings to the final run down, they were thoughtful in their questions, and really wanted to make it our day. Everyone was super responsive to calls or emails, and they made everything feel seamless the day of. None of our vendors had any trouble setting anything up.\r\rNot only was the service incredible, the food was out of this world, and the cocktail hour food stations couldn't have been more beautifully set up. Our guests couldn't believe the amount of food options there were, and were enthusiastically trying everything.\r\rWe had our reception in the Jefferson room because we ended up with a large party of about 250, and the room was the perfect size so that people had table space and had room to move around the beautiful dance floor. Also, they have linens of all colors on hand, so they can match their room to anything the bride/groom is looking for.\r\rThe Maitre' d's and all of the service staff really took care of my husband and I the entire night, they even made sure that we ate our dinner! They totally understood the role of being host, and were always there with my or my husband's favorite drink, which was the classiest touch.\r\rAll our guests have continually told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and I hope that our review will give anyone or everyone the perfect place for their wedding. We couldn't be more happy :)

Our guests were raving about the service, the food, the beauty of Birchwood Manor at the wedding. During the wedding they were posting photos to FaceBook. After the wedding we had calls from so many of our guests to say it was the best wedding they had been to in years. \rWe had a delightfully sunny day and were married in the West Gazebo - the weather was perfect for an outside ceremony. The fountains and flowers and the beautiful slate path and the gorgeous chairs made the ceremony quite spectacular.\rThe cocktail hour, held in the garden room and out on the terrace, was fabulous. Servers passed hot hors d'oeuvres which were amazing. \rThe receptions was in the ballroom - I can't wait to see the photographer's proofs - all the chandeliers and the mirrors - light was bouncing off the walls and made for some beautiful amateur photos. The food was superb - especially the shrimp/clams/lobster/oyster cart! The service was impeccable and our Maitre D' was so attentive to every detail. The wait staff couldn't do enough for everyone and the bartenders were great. It seemed as though Birchwood Manor's staff were enjoying their jobs as much as we were enjoying our day!\rI must rave about the food - we had a buffet with carving and pasta stations. The service and food was absolutely fantastic! The Birchwood Manor made our dream wedding come true. Our guests were ranting and raving about how much and the quality of the food. The icing on the cake was..well..the cake! I had an idea in my head for a cake that I wasnt sure was going to come out because it was a more difficult concept. When I tried explaining my idea to other people, no one got it. The Birchwood's baker nailed it! It was a picture out of a magazine and better than anything I had ever dreamed it could be. Mike was so great to work with and the venue was totally flexible with us throughout the entire process. Would recommend!

Jason and John were the Maitre D's and they didn't go more than 3 minutes without asking us if we were ok or needed anything. Everything was absolutely perfect thanks to them!!!!

We visited Birchwood Manor on a recommendation from my parents who had been to weddings there. It was clearly the most economic choice from the places we visited, but there was something else. Robert, the Banquet Manager, made us immediately feel at home. Throughout the planning, Robert was priceless, making us feel special and important. That service continued to the day of the wedding. Our maitre'd, John was lovely and didn't miss a beat. The other servers were equally as conscientious. Besides that, the food was incredible! There was so much food at the cocktail hour and all of it was great. Dinner was equally tasty. They do your cake in house. We brought a bunch of pictures and explained to Robert what we wanted and we got exactly that. It was beautiful. I cannot speak highly enough of Birchwood Manor. The grounds also proved the perfect backdrop for our pictures.

When I was a little kid, I drove by this place with my dad. I told him I would definitely get married here. And, well, I did! I've received so many compliments about this place. Beautiful decor, good food, good people to work with.

We lucked out and were the only wedding and had the Jefferson Room for our 175 guests. The outdoor terrace for cocktail hour is beautiful. Food was amazing, everyone raved about it. The ballroom has high ceilings with chandeliers that really make it elegant. We worked with Robert, who I highly recomend requesting! If I could do it over, I wouldn't change a thing! LOVED it!

After visiting 17 other wedding venues. My search finally ended once I visited Birchwood Manor. From the very beginning and throughout, Banquet Sales Manager Michael Marino III was very professional, patient, efficient,and accommodating to all our needs and wishes. He did a superb job in making my wedding day (8/2010) such a special one. I'm still on cloud nine. Our Guests thoroughly enjoyed the day! and are still raving about the Birchwood, from the friendly staff who made each guest feel welcomed, to the fabulous food, stunning banquet room and beautiful grounds. My husband and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Birchwood Manor as the PERFECT wedding venue.
