The staff was so helpful throughout all the planning leading to my daughterâs wedding day. The venue was absolutely beautiful on that Fall day. The outside ceremony was decorated with Fall foliage, just stunning. The hot and cold appetizers were delicious during the cocktail hour which was held in the downstairs hall. Not a small detail in the reception hall was missed, from the linens to food. The food served buffet style was just delicious! The day ended with an ice cream and espresso martini bar, just spectacular! I highly recommend Birchwoods for all your wedding needs. The venue and staff are truly amazing in everything they do and offer!

Was here recently for a wedding. Had everything from raw bar and passed apps for cocktail hour, dinner was salad, pasta and a delicious filet cooked perfectly. For dessert a great pie bar with so many choices and ice cream! Music was fun! Danced all night!

Our entire experience with Birchwoods was AMAZING from the very first meeting and tour of the venue to the end of our reception! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the food is delicious, and every member of the staff we interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and made us feel special. One of the owners, Trish, is also incredibly friendly, responsive, and made every single part of planning our ceremony and reception a breeze. Venue is beautiful but the staff and owner (Trish) are the elements that put this venue over the top. EVERYTHING is personalized --- whatever your vision is, they will make it happen. We wanted unconventional for our early December wedding --- heavy cocktail hour, no siting down, two open bars, dancing in a separate room from the food, etc. -- and she welcomed all of our ideas and made them happen. Also, her pricing is extremely competitive. Cannot recommend Trish and Birchwoods enough!

I cannot recommend Trish and Birchwoods enough. It was an incredible experience, and our wedding was perfect. Trish is so capable, attentive, and willing to help with any and everything. The food was incredible, the venue is gorgeous, and the prices were very fair. The staff is so friendly too! They really work with you here, and make sure you have everything you could ever want for your special day. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and we are so happy with how everything went.

I loved Trish from the moment I met her at a bridal shower! She didnât even blink twice when I told her we wanted to get married in 5 short months! Trish answered all my questions, always had a smile on her face and is just all around pleasant! Our wedding day was beyond beautiful, and all the staff there were amazing as well. Special shout out to Marlene, who didnât leave our side. What a pleasure. 100/10! Would absolutely recommend.

The Birchwoods made my wedding day nothing short of Magical. Trish and Danielle and are so responsive and endearing. They executed my vision for my wedding. I would recommend them to anyone. The food was delicious. The photographer, Melissa, with Russellâs was easy to work with and took incredible pictures. Their waitstaff was incredibly accommodating. We did a package and some add-ons that included the ceremony, cocktail hour, plated meal service with top shelf open bar, the DJ, photographer and wedding cake plus a dessert set up with pies, donuts and hot apple cider along with an coffee bar. The venue itself is beautiful, the golf course made a gorgeous backdrop for pictures and overall esthetic. 5 stars across the board!!!

I cannot thank Trish and the rest of the Birchwoods team enough for making our wedding day the most magical day ever!!Trish was so incredibly helpful and communicative throughout the entire wedding planning process and was so flexible regarding any of our requests. Trish and Gina also ensured that the day of ran so smoothly, which was something I appreciated deeply. I cannot thank Gina enough for taking my wedding decor vision and blowing it out of the park!!!! Seeing the reception area after it was all decorated brought me to tears. I genuinely thought I was going to be a nervous wreck on my wedding but I knew I was in phenomenal hands with the Birchwoods team!Oh and the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! From the appetizers to the entrees - the filet mignon is a work of art!Again, we truly cannot thank the team enough for making our big day the best day ever. As a thank you, we gifted our handmade arch to the venue and hope all the future couples of birchwoods enough this token of our gratitude and also have the wedding of their dreams!

On the day of our wedding, Trish, Danielle, Gina and all the staff treated us like royalty. They made sure we had everything that we needed, we did not have to ask for anything. This venue was absolutely perfect, we were able to get married outside in the garden, cocktail hour down stairs and the reception in the grand ballroom. The food was amazing, my guests still rave about the hors d'oeuvres served at cocktail hour. We also had the cappuccino bar add on and that was a hit as well! I couldnât have imagined a more perfect day. Birchwoods is beautiful, affordable, and the staff are amazing!

I attended my daughter's wedding reception here in November and Birchwoods is truly the best ever. I've been to many a reception in my time and this was easily at the top. The location is gorgeous with the sunset view and rolling hills of the golf course, so perfect for pictures, and the food was amazing! Not your typical wedding fare. You can tell a lot of care went into the taste and presentation of every dish, whether appetizer or entree. Trish and Danielle were a dream to work with, so accommodating and professional, and the staff was attentive and friendly and very helpful with anything we needed. I loved the layout of the whole place whether it be the ballroom, bridal suite, access to outdoors, even the bathrooms: it was a comfortable yet elegant setting and easily accessible. I truly can't put into words just how EASY the whole experience was and how happy they made our family, friends, and especially my daughter on her big day.

Trish and everyone at the Birchwoods truly went above and beyond to make our wedding experience absolutely incredible!We had a difficult time finding a venue that provided a high quality experience in an intimate setting for a fair price- we looked all over NY and CT until we found The Birchwoods! The grounds are beautiful and the venue itself has everything you need for the event (including a variety of wedding decor!). The packages are customizable to ensure your wedding is exactly how you imagine it. Trish was amazing to work with and went out of her way to accommodate our requests. I truly felt that her first priority was always to help us have the wedding of our dreams, never to nickel and dime us or sneak in hidden charges. Especially with uncertainties of COVID, she was always willing to work with us and ensure our wedding was perfect. On our big day, everything went off without a hitch. The venue was decorated beautifully and the food was amazing. We had full use of the entire venue (which I highly recommend!) and had our ceremony in the garden, cocktail hour outdoors on the patio, and reception in the ballroom upstairs. There was also a back up indoor ceremony site if the weather did not cooperate (which put my mind at ease). Our guests enjoyed the bee deck off the ballroom to get some air during the reception as well. Having only one wedding at a time makes a significant difference on the overall experience. Overall, the Birchwoods is an exceptional venue and I could not have been happier to have had them host my wedding.

I truly felt that her first priority was always to help us have the wedding of our dreams, never to nickel and dime us or sneak in hidden charges. Especially with uncertainties of COVID, she was always willing to work with us and ensure our wedding was perfect. On our big day, everything went off without a hitch. The venue was decorated beautifully and the food was amazing. We had full use of the entire venue (which I highly recommend!) and had our ceremony in the garden, cocktail hour outdoors on the patio, and reception in the ballroom upstairs. There was also a back up indoor ceremony site if the weather did not cooperate (which put my mind at ease). Our guests enjoyed the bee deck off the ballroom to get some air during the reception as well. Having only one wedding at a time makes a significant difference on the overall experience. Overall, the Birchwoods is an exceptional venue and I could not have been happier to have had them host my wedding.

I would just like to say how amazing this venue was for one of the most important day of our lives (our wedding). It was a dream come true. The staff there were wonderful throughout this whole experience. Trish was with us from the beginning to the end and she knew exactly what we wanted from the moment we said I do to the venue to the moment we said I do to each other. Gina was such great help we definitely needed her guidance and support. We got the package deal the photographer was very dedicated and paid attention to detail, and the DJ was very involved in making sure everything ran in a timely manner, along with keeping the dance floor packed. There is so much more I want to say about this beautiful venue and amazing staff but I will leave it at this you should definitely book your wedding with them!!!

On the actual day PJ and Gina were amazing. They made sure we had everything we needed and never let our drinks go empty. I can't speak highly enough. Picking a venue was one of the hardest decisions we had to make and that is because we liked EVERY venue we looked at. We even booked a venue prior to booking Birchwoods but realized we were not IN LOVE with it. We were at a loss and figured weâd just keep touring and so we did. We met with Trish at Birchwoods in October 2019 and signed the contract THAT SAME DAY. I donât know if it was Trish or the venue that sold us (probably both) but we were HOOKED. The excitement set in, because when you know, you know! Birchwoods is set on a golf course which we never thought would be our style but the grounds were beautiful. The ballroom and inside were completely stunning. The vibe is rustic but not too rustic like a barn. It was the perfect blend of rustic, elegant and simple. Trish has TONS of dĂ©cor in her closet and allows you to use all of it which totally cuts cost as far as centerpieces, dĂ©cor and also allows you to get ideas of what you might like! Working with Trish was so easy and pleasant, which made the process of postponing and picking a plan B date due to COVID very smooth. After hearing horror stories from other brides, I was so thankful that our venue was one of the good ones. We moved our date, stayed in touch and just stayed in contact. Our tasting finally came and it became real. All of my food allergies were accommodated and we set up our final meeting. We upgraded our package, met with Trish, gave our final payment, finalized our centerpieces, discussed dĂ©cor and drop off and when our wedding day came, it was beyond what we even hoped for and expected. Trish and her team really outdid themselves. It was down pouring so we could not use the outdoor space for cocktail hour but she accommodated us downstairs. The Ballroom was stunning. Everything was done better than I could have imagined. All of the staff were so friendly, so fun and attentive. Our matreâdâs were amazing and none of us can stop talking about how amazing the venue was, how amazing the food was, how amazing the staff was, just EVERYTHING. Iâm so thankful we chose Birchwoods for our wedding venue. Iâm so thankful to have met Trish and worked with her. Birchwoods is affordable, elegant, and really perfect.

I seriously don't know where to start with how genuinely AMAZING Birchwoods is! We had the pleasure of working with Trish and Pj, for 1.5 years on all the details of our wedding. It started in April of 2019, when I was tired of looking at venues and had seemed to run out of options. We walked into Birchwoods, we were greeted by Trish and her first question to us was \"tell me how you met\". I knew from that moment, we were getting married at Birchwoods without having even seen the grounds. Trish, got to know us, treated us like an extension of her family, she was regularly in communication with me throughout all the planning. We were supposed to get married 5/2/2020, and in March our world got turned upside down with a global pandemic, Trish immediately worked with us on a reschedule date. We got the new date of 7/31/2020 on the calendar and just days before our wedding the State guidance for venues changed yet again. We had to make the decision to move our wedding to our home, and have the most amazing outdoor wedding and reception. I called Trish and her and Pj, came out to our house. They walked the property, came up with a plan to cater our entire wedding here on-site at our house with all their staff. When I tell you that the Birchwoods staff went ABOVE and BEYOND for our wedding, I genuinely mean it. They kept the wedding flow together for the night, put out the most beautiful display of apps, worked the most amazing buffet line and gave our guests the best experience. The best part of the night was Trish walking up to me and telling me that a couple of her new staff asked \"are all weddings usually this fun\". They are so professional to work with, will treat you like people and not line a number on their calendar that just \"another wedding\". They will allow you to make the day entirely what you want and to me I couldn't put a price tag on that. I literally still text with Trish, check in on her and the staff, I visit regularly and I have become a weekly customer buying the family meals they offer too - check out their Facebook and follow for those details. This past year Birchwoods added so much to the property, they put on a beautiful deck attached to the ballroom and totally renovated the gardens when you can get married on-site. Although we are sad that experience was robbed of us, we can vouch for how immaculate the grounds are and how beautiful your day can be. My husband and I, have already agreed to renew our vows in 5 years in the church we were set to be married in and have the reception at Birchwoods, where we were supposed to on 5/2 and 7/31... Until then, I will live vicariously through each couple who gets to step foot on the grounds and have the most beautiful Birchwoods wedding. I don't even know where to start!! Trish and the Birchwoods staff were unbelievable!! As soon as I arrived with my bridal party, Trish greeted me right away with a huge smile and asked what she could get us. All night long Trish and Pj were right along side my new husband and I for anything we needed. The grounds of the venue are absolutely breath taking, which made for beautiful photos that we will have for the rest of our lives. The food, was amazing!! Its been two weeks since we got married and we still cant stop thinking about the stuffed sole ! If we could get married again, we would pick the Birchwoods all over again! I don't even know where to start!! Trish and the Birchwoods staff were unbelievable!! As soon as I arrived with my bridal party, Trish greeted me right away with a huge smile and asked what she could get us. All night long Trish and Pj were right along side my new husband and I for anything we needed. The grounds of the venue are absolutely breath taking, which made for beautiful photos that we will have for the rest of our lives. The food, was amazing!! Its been two weeks since we got married and we still cant stop thinking about the stuffed sole ! If we could get married again, we would pick the Birchwoods all over again! They truly made our wedding such a beautiful day. We cant ever thank them enough.

Trish was GREAT. I was able to text her throughout the planning process, she kept things organized, and provided valuable advice after being in the industry for so long. She accommodated our needs and the venue was set up beautifully. The only downside to Birchwoods was that the food was \"ehh\". As a vegetarian, my options are limited. However, the mushroom wellington I was served was a bit cold and the puff pastry was undercooked. Being the busy bride, I did not care much at the time, but now I wish the meal was better and that my guests had something to rave about!

My husband and I were looking for a place to get married for this year and when we walked into Birchwoods we fell in love right away. Trish makes the inside look very rustic, which was what we were looking for. She had open communication with us the entire time we were planning. Our wedding had to be postponed from April to August due to Covid-19. We were slightly bummed since we wanted to have our wedding in the beautiful banquet hall, but Trish and her staff went above and beyond to make our outdoor August wedding even more amazing than we could have imagined. Everything was perfect and they took care of every detail the day of and days leading to our wedding. As the bride, as soon as I stepped foot on the premises I felt stress free and relaxed. The staff was very attentive to my husband and I, and our guests had the best time. The food was awesome and Trish and her staff took every precaution to make us and our guests feel safe and comfortable. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts, especially since I thought our day wouldn't be the same with the change!

From the moment we walked into the venue and were greeted by Trish, it was clear that hosting weddings isn't just Trish's job; it is her passion. She treated us like family and was incredibly accommodating to the wedding vision we shared with her. From the first meeting to the end of the wedding, her communication was impeccable and she always made time for a phone call or an in-person visit. As far as the venue goes, breathtaking would be another understatement. The garden was beautiful and the reception area was stunning. The food was more than delicious. From the moment we walked into Birchwoods we knew it was our dream venue! When you walk into Birchwoods it is like walking into a home & everyone there turkey treats you like family. Trish was amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process! She has so many beautiful pieces that others have donated to the venue so there are plenty of things you can utilize for your special day! Her and the staff are so helpful and responsive! When I needed to change my date Trish was super helpful in making the change easy and totally assisted in what could have been a stressful situation! The venue is beautiful and rustic with elements of Birchwoods trees throughout. The ability to have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in the same place while having 3 separate spaces for each piece is beautiful! There is even a room inside that has floor to ceiling windows to have a ceremony in if the weather isnât quite what you hoped for. The staff is so attentive and will work to give you the best day ever from day one! I would always recommend Birchwoods for a quality, unique venue, that is beautiful, without breaking the bank! I canât thank Trish & Birchwoods enough for making my wedding such a beautiful event!

Birchwoods was the perfect place for our wedding! After we got engaged, we started to look for a venue. Birchwoods was the first and only venue we visited! After we met with Trish and toured the venue, we got in the car and knew that was the place for our wedding. Trish is incredible! She answered any e-mail we sent her for the months leading up to the wedding right away and was always so helpful. The day of the wedding, she decorated the ballroom beautifully with our decorations and some of her own. Our wedding went so smoothly thanks to Trish and her team. We really wanted to have as much time for dancing as possible and Trish made that happen. There was no wait time between courses which gave us plenty of time for dancing! Trish also made sure we always had a drink and that we were taken care of the whole night. She even wrapped the food we didn't finish so we could have it for lunch the next day! The food was delicious and at a reasonable price too. Everything about Birchwoods was amazing and I would highly recommend it.

If I could give 2 million stars I would. Birchwoods is phenomenal, from the minute we walked into that door for a tour of the venue to the second we walked out the night of our wedding. Trish was there every step of the way to make us feel special, to help us and to make sure that every last detail was perfect for our big day. If we could redo our wedding over and over again we would always come back here. Because of the snow in November, we weren't able to have our ceremony outside, but Trish went above and beyond to make the glass room inside just as beautiful for our ceremony. Don't worry about matching your colors to the napkins of table clothes because there is a huge selection of colors to choose from! I definitely didn't go hungry all night because the waitstaff was awesome at bringing us cocktail hour Hors d'oeuvres and drinks during and right after pictures. The bridal suite is huge and there is a giant mirror that is perfect for pictures. There is also a groom's suite downstairs which was equally as big. The open bar was fantastic, the selection of drinks was perfect and the dinner was out of this world. To this day I still have people talking about how good their dinner was at our wedding. The dance floor was super spacious as well, which is super important. The actual ballroom is huge, you never feel like you're on top of other guests. We even got to do a sparkler send off! Honestly, if you are looking for a private, one wedding a day, secluded venue that feels cozy, and beautiful then look no further. Birchwoods is absolutely the place to be. I would recommend this venue all day, every day because without Trish and her truly caring about us, our day would definitely not have been as memorable as it was here.

If I could give this venue 100 stars and more I would! As soon as my (now) husband and I visited Birchwoods there was no doubt that it was the perfect venue for us. First of all, it is absolutely beautiful! We had looked at many venues prior to visiting Birchwoods and nothing even came close. The outside has gorgeous grounds and was wonderful for photos! The inside is equally magical with its brightness and elegance. People have asked if I regret not hiring a wedding planner, and I always tell them I didn't need one thanks to Trish at Birchwoods. She was AMAZING the entire way through! Throughout the entire planning process she made me feel like an absolute princess and helped me with anything I needed. Although I know she works with so many people she always made me feel as if I were the most important person. I have no doubt others who have worked with her would say the same! All I had to do was ask and Trish not only got right back to me but went above and beyond to help me with whatever I needed. Due to family being out of town my fiance and I decided not to have a rehearsal, which made me a little nervous initially. Trish assured me that it was not a problem, and she was right. She was right by my side on my wedding day making sure everything ran smoothly. All of my guests (including friends who notoriously dislike weddings!) are still talking about how wonderful our wedding was and how kind, friendly, and accommodating the entire staff was. The food is also delicious! Everyone says that the bride and groom do not have time to eat at their wedding - believe me, after our food tasting I made time to eat at mine! I could honestly write a book about how perfect our wedding day was, and it is all thanks to Birchwoods and Trish. I cannot recommend them enough or say enough about them. Birchwoods really is the perfect place to get married! Thank you so much to Birchwoods, Trish, and your entire staff for making my day better than I could ever have imagined!!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Birchwoods. Trish is very easy to work with and very accommodating with letting you borrow/ use what they have. She also allowed us to bring things in, like sweets for our candy bar favors. We were a little unhappy with the service some guests and vendors told us they received. Not getting their meal and having to asked for it, or getting cold/ inedible food. Several guests said the fish (that was the most amazing fish my husband said he has ever eaten after our tasting) was terrible and most sent it back. We were also unsatisfied with how some things were set up and packed at the end of the day. It appears to us that not much care or thought was put into it. Something as small as packaging up the top tier of our cake, it was done carelessly and was destroyed. Our custom cake topper was not wrapped at all, no care was put into putting it away (didnât even wipe the frosting off) and was badly broken. We are very disappointed in how the day was run. We were under the impression both Trish and Amy would be running the day together but instead Amy was working in the restaurant separate from our event. The entire day was not pushed along and run as it needed to be/ should have been. There was a SEVERE lack of communication. I am told that members of the wedding party and vendors could not find Trish multiple times throughout the day. We even had an entire FRONT row empty at the ceremony (you can see the empty row in our photos and video) but people standing. A few people told me that they were told to leave these seats empty/ they could not sit there, we have no idea why that row was left empty. I also personally find it unethical and a conflict of interest that Russellâs photography is listed as a preferred vendor though Trish refers to Danielle (the owner of Russellâs) as her sister it was never disclosed to us that Danielle is also listed with the Connecticut Secretary of State as a part owner.

Throughout the year of our engagement, Trish was always available to go over any questions or concerns we had to make sure our day ran smoothly. She always responded right away and was super calm, which is exacly what a bride and groom need!! Fast forward to wedding week. We had our rehersal dinner at Birchwood's where they hosted 30 of our friends and family with delicious food and drinks from the on-site restaruant. Then came wedding day... I truly do not have enough words to express how amazing the day went. From how absoutley BEAUTIFUL the venue was decorated (I've told Trish several times she needs to come decorate my house, lol!), to how nicely the grounds looked even in December, to the DELICIOUS food that we're still getting compliments on over a week later! (I can't even choose what food to recommend because honestly everything was amazing, but if I had to choose... try the bacon wrapped stuffed dates for an appetizer). If anything went wrong that day, my husband and I honestly had no idea - and that is all thanks to Trish and her staff continuously making sure everything went flawlessly. I can go on and on about how amazing and perfect having our wedding at Birchwood's was. You cannot find anything comparable in this area. It's truly a hidden gem in Connecticut, and we will definitely be using this venue again for parties/events! There are not enough words, or stars to describe how amazing I think Birchwoods is. From the first time we stepped through the door, we knew that this was the venue for us! From the first minute of that first meeting, to the moment we walked out the door after our reception, Trish made us feel like members of her family and we are forever grateful for our wedding day experience! There are not enough words, or stars to describe how amazing I think Birchwoods is. From the first time we stepped through the door, we knew that this was the venue for us! From the first minute of that first meeting, to the moment we walked out the door after our reception, Trish made us feel like members of her family and we are forever grateful for our wedding day experience! Better late than never! My husband and I got married at Birchwoods at Oaklane this past June. We had nothing but an amazing experience. Trish is wonderful. She was extremely helpful during the planning and up to the final moments of our night. She is very organized and allowed for us to have a stress free day. We got married in the garden on site, which was absolutely beautiful. The day could not have gone smoother. We had about 170 guests and everyone expressed what an amazing time they had. The food was excellent and we chose to do our cocktail hour outside/in the downstairs room. It was fun for the guests to mingle in a different location besides the ballroom and everyone enjoyed the appetizers. Trish always made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hand or a snack to munch on. It was surprisingly a very stress free day for us both thanks to Trish and her amazing staff. I highly recommend this venue for future brides and grooms. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Thanks again the amazing team at Birchwoods! B&B <3

Birchwoods was the best decision we made during our planning process! The venue is gorgeous and updated and I am so happy with how our day went! Not sure which part was my favorite! Having Trish or getting married at Birchwoods! Trish was amazing and made our day perfect! She answered my million questions in emails at all hours and really helped me plan how the day was going to unfold. As the maitre D she took care of everything â to the point that as far as Iâm aware, everything went smooth or she took care of it without me having to worry (which is so important for brides/grooms). I would recommend Birchwoods to everyone if you want a beautiful landscape, gorgeous photos, and an amazing staff. Thank you so much Trish - I miss talking to you all the time!!

Don't know where to start with this 5 star review - other than to say I wish there were more stars to give the Birchwoods! My husband and I had our wedding reception here on August 25th. It was par excellence from start to finish. Trish was AMAZING!! Nicest person to ever have to deal with when you are planning a wedding and dealing with stresses from every angle!! She made us feel like family. She was just so accommodating and friendly! We actually had a destination wedding and both myself and hubby were coming from out of state. Trish made the entire journey a seamless and enjoyable trip! Cannot say enough great things about this venue, Trish and her staff. We were hearing RAVE reviews about the food weeks after the reception! Most were stuffed from the Cocktail Hour alone! And this says alot because we have serious foodies in our circle! (I am also gluten free as were several of our wedding guests and Trish and staff also had delicious options for this as well.) We were very thankful. We had our cocktail reception in the gorgeous glass room and then our guests headed into the main ballroom for the rest of the night. It's a gorgeous space! Everyone loved the high arched windows , lighting, scenic views and huge dance floor! I esp loved the rustic/ chic decor and the sliding barn doors - such great accents esp for pictures! The grounds outside were beautiful and also made for some amazing photos! Also there was a stunning spacious bridal suite with beautiful couches and decor where my entire bridal party was able to relax and refresh before and during the reception. Honestly I could go on and on and on about the awesome night everyone had! When I think back to that day It is with nothing but the BEST memories -- A truly dreamy day!!To sum it up - As one of my best friends said to me - Geri you should get married more often! Ha! Thank you sooo much to Trish and her staff at the Birchwoods - from the bottom of my heart (and Jeff's!) for providing the dream wedding day we had hoped for - and truly so much more!! My husband and I got married here in August and we CANNOT SAY ENOUGH about how wonderful our experience was with this venue. Trish, who will instantly turn into your personal wedding planner, went ABOVE AND BEYOND for our wedding day. We were able to throw together a wedding with 150 people in 6 weeks, and everything went flawlessly, and all because of what wonderful people Birchwoods has on staff. The grounds were beautiful, very convenient, and the facility itself if stunning. The food was excellent, the condition of the equipment used (Chairs, Tables, Floors, Restrooms, etc.) was all well taken care of and VERY CLEAN! The local venders in the area also couldn't say enough great things about this venue while booking DJ's and photographers. Trish made our wedding day the relaxing, seamless, but incredibly beautiful wedding that we have had in mind for years. FIVE STARS aren't enough! Go here, book with them!! You will NOT be disappointed!

Birchwoods at Oaklane, I donât even know where to begin!! Birchwoods far exceeded our expectations. From start to finish the professionalism they exhibited should be a standard set that other venues should look to strive for. The services they provided in comparison to the total cost is something that simply can not be matched in the state of CT. For the quality of the cocktail hour and main course; I would have expected to pay double what we actually paid. You would have thought the venue staffs relatives were the ones getting married. Everyone was so friendly and caring. Birchwoods worked excellent with our vendors as well. If we could give 6 stars, we would. Every one of our guests said it was hands down the best wedding they had ever been to. Highly highly recommended. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained. Elegant with a hint of rustic. We were so happy with our decision to have our wedding and reception at Birchwoods. The variety in the space was perfect for what we were looking for. We had our ceremony outside in the garden, with the cocktail hour both outside on the patio and inside in the old school looking bar room and the reception in the ballroom. Since we had our ceremony early, the guests were able to go back outside during the reception to play cornhole and smoke cigars. The waitstaff was very attentive to my husband and my needs, constantly asking if we needed a drink or something more to eat, while at the same time never interrupting anything we were engaged in. The food was wonderful and two months later we still have guests talking about the food and the wedding as a whole. We could not have been happier with our decision to get married at Birchwoods.

Every appetizer and each main meal entree were prepared and served in such an elegant fashion. The food was delicious!!!! Trish has a very calming affect on every one especially a very nervous mother of the groom (me)!! She assured me and the bride and groom that everything would be perfect and she delivered 110%!!! We highly recommend any bride and groom to consider having their wedding at Birchwoods at Oaklane. It will be the best day of their lives all due to Trish and her staff.

Trish and the rest of the staff were always professional and courteous and on top of their game. They made our day absolutely perfect. I can't thank Trish and the staff at Birchwoods enough for our AMAZING wedding! I knew from the day we got engaged that I wanted to choose Birchwoods. The setting is simple and classy, the food is delicious, and the service is superior! We got married on the lawn just as the foliage was beginning to change - the setting could not have been more perfect. Our guests then moved onto a magnificent cocktail hour on the Patio & in the Oak Room where they were treated to amazing hors d'oeuvres. Our reception was held in the Grand Ballroom and Trish paid meticulous detail in setting the room exactly as we had envisioned. We added the Donut & Cider Station to our dessert and they were fantastic. Best end to the nightâŠLate Night Taco Bar! Our guests raved all night about how amazing the food was and we couldn't agree more! Thank you Trish & Co. for making our day absolutely fantastic! Best day ever!

We got married on the lawn just as the foliage was beginning to change - the setting could not have been more perfect. Our guests then moved onto a magnificent cocktail hour on the Patio & in the Oak Room where they were treated to amazing hors d'oeuvres. Our reception was held in the Grand Ballroom and Trish paid meticulous detail in setting the room exactly as we had envisioned. We added the Donut & Cider Station to our dessert and they were fantastic. Best end to the nightâŠLate Night Taco Bar! Our guests raved all night about how amazing the food was and we couldn't agree more! Thank you Trish & Co. for making our day absolutely fantastic! Best day ever!

We just had my daughters wedding on oct 8. I couldn't recommend birchwood enough to anyone getting married. The facility is beautiful and the Trish was the best to work with. She handled every detail and every wish with genuine warmth and concern. The months leading to a wedding can ge stressful enough but I didn't feel any stress about the venue. She completely and competently took care of us and everything that needed to be done. I enjoyed the wedding and didn't need to worry about anything. Her love for what she does and for those she is taking care of is obvious. I was so so happy that birchwoods was our choice.

Let me begin by saying how absolutely amazing the staff at Birchwoods is! With our wedding set to start at 5pm and be on the grass under the willow tree, it started raining at 2 pm, and did not stop until about 4:40 pm on 6/17/17. Trish and Danielle asked me if I still wanted the wedding outside (under an equally beautiful pergola) or inside. With my dream being married outside, they were able to prepare the area within minutes and have all the guests seated. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing and the staff was unbelievable. They made everything stress free and created a family like atmosphere. Even our other vendors commented on how helpful and reliable they were. They decorated the venue beautifully with our centerpieces, reminded us to eat even grabbing me a grilled cheese from the grilled cheese bar (which was so delicious), and made sure everything ran smoothly. I had never heard of Birchwoods before a Bridal Show I attended, and stopped because I liked their decorations. I am so glad I took those extra minutes to talk to them. You will not be disappointed if you have your event here. I hope I was able to put into words how wonderful and helpful they were! They made our wedding day something we will never forget. From the moment my now husband and I walked int0 Birchwoods, we knew that we wanted Danielle and Trish to host our wedding. The venue itself is beautiful- the hardwood floors, bride and groom suites, the glass room (where we held our ceremony) and the grand ballroom were ideal for our ceremony and reception. Leading up to our wedding day Trish and Danielle were wonderful to work with. They are clearly dedicated to making each wedding that they host a special experience for the couple and we felt like family from the moment we met them. The day of our wedding was nothing short of perfect. We were completely taken care of from the moment we walked in the door until we left at the end of the reception. Amy was an exceptional maitre-de- she took excellent care of the wedding party and our families before and after the ceremony. The food was delicious- all of our guests raved about it and they were very accommodating to those with dietary restrictions. The reception staff were very attentive and made sure all of our guests were well taken care of. We are so happy that we chose Birchwoods for our wedding and I would highly recommend them to any couple getting married in Connecticut!!

Trying to find a location for our daughters wedding on a budget was a disappointing time,but then we met Danielle at the Bridal Expo in Hartford. She and Trish made our dreams come true. They both are so great to work with and truly care about you and your event. The venue is absolutely beautiful and surrounding golf course grounds is a an extra bonus. I can't say enough about how easy it was to work with both Danielle anf Trish. Trish was our day of coordinator and she made the event run smoothly and we did not notice any mishaps if anything did go wrong. The food was excellent. Our guest were complimenting us on the beautiful wedding and food as well. It was a rainy week leading up to wedding so we had the ceremony in the glass room, and it was set up beautiful. It was perfect. The bride & groom were able to get pictures outside on the grounds, so they were happy. All in all, Birchwoods Banquet in Woodbridge is a beautiful place and the people are awesome to work with and truly care about you and your experience. Well done Danielle & Trish!!

I can't believe how lucky we were to find Birchwoods for our January 2, 2016 wedding day. Planning a wedding in Connecticut on a budget is an extremely daunting task, but Birchwoods made all of our dreams come true. As soon as I began corresponding with Danielle, I could see that she takes pride in her facility, and really cares about her brides and grooms. She was enthusiastic, warm, friendly, and never pressured us. Their Winter Wedding package was exactly what we were looking for and choosing Birchwoods was a really easy decision. We loved the ball room, the bridal suite, and all of the staff members. The tasting was an amazing experience, and we were so happy with how the food turned out. We wanted to be able to serve hot appetizers during the cocktail hour, and we still can't believe how much food we were able to serve our guests. The decor provided by Birchwoods was amazing, and they were so great in letting me drop off our decor ahead of time, and setting everything up perfectly. I had nothing to worry about the day of the wedding, our guests were happy, and everything was very handi-cap accessible, which was important for our families. Danielle also recommended RJ the DJ, which was a fantastic choice for us. For a winter wedding, or any wedding or celebration, I would absolutely recommend Birchwoods at Oak Lane!

Our wedding was on 12/31/15, and the staff at birchwoods made our day absolutely perfect! Trish and Danielle are amazing! They are so easy to work with and are very down to earth. You can tell that they are very passionate about their jobs. The ball room was all decorated and the tables had beautiful center pieces, leaving me with little to do-which is always a plus! Our guests continuously complimented that the food was amazing and they had the best NYE of their lives! The night could not have run any smoother. We will definitely be using this venue for future parties! Thank you so much Birchwoods!

My fiance and I had our engagement party in October and everything was PERFECT! As soon as we saw the Glass Room, we knew it was the perfect location to host 40 of our closest friends and family and to enjoy the surrounding grounds and foliage. Working with Danielle and Trish was the best part of preparing for the day. They were always available and went above and beyond to answer all of our questions. They helped us decide on the menu and everyone raved about how good the food was! I didn't even notice servers switching out trays or bringing in dessert. Things went so well that we are planning on having our wedding in the Ballroom. We loved working with everyone at Birchwoods and can't wait to start all over again for our wedding! I cannot say enough good things about this place! If you are considering booking an event with them, you have no reason to have any concerns because everything will be wonderful!

I can not express the unbelievable day Danielle & her staff at Birchwoods provided us for our wedding day!\rEVERY single small detail was attended to.\r\rWe had gone to Mother's Day Brunch at Birchwoods and were so very impressed that we knew THIS was our venue for our wedding! \rWe had a small wedding of 50 people and decided to have our ceremony on site as well.\rThe venue was breathtaking! The food delicious!! The staff so attentive. \r\rIn all honesty my guest are STILL calling me RAVING about our day! \r\rOur family will now have a tradition of having our special events with Birchwoods!!!\r

My partner and I were married on the back lawn of Birchwods on 10/10/15. Ceremony and setting were beautiful! Food was excellent; we're still getting compliments! The entire staff of Birchwoods was very attentive throughout the wedding process. From menu selection and changes to food tasting to picking out our signature cocktails, the service was excellent. Apple cider donuts toward the end of the reception were a huge hit! Bridal suite was lovely. We were even able to have our rehearsal dinner in their restaurant, and they customized the menu for us! Very attentive and accommodating.

My husband and I had our wedding at Birchwood's on October 3rd, 2015. Danielle, Trish, and Amy were an excellent team throughout the planning process. They accommodated every single request we made. We even had to add four people the week of the wedding, and they made it happen without a hitch. The day of our wedding the food tasted amazing, the service was excellent, and all of our guests had a phenomenal time. \r\rI will mention that the Top Shelf bar wasn't quite as top shelf as we had hoped, at least not during cocktail hour when we saw what was behind the bar. In fact the bartender even tried to serve me, one of the grooms, well liquor before I requested something better. Also, my father asked for a scotch during cocktail hour and all they had was whisky. However, they did bring in the specific wines we requested, and overall everyone found plenty to drink. \r\rI should say that when we booked this venue it was under different ownership, and while it was a good venue it has become a GREAT venue in the hands of Danielle and PJ. They have given it the TLC it needed to make it a really beautiful space to hold a wedding, from the suites to the various rooms for reception and cocktail hour. I can only imagine that it is going to get even better.

I have not officially been married at Birchwoods yet but my fiance and I have signed our contract for October of 2016! We could not be more excited! I am an out of state bride which adds a whole new level of stress to wedding planning! My parents spent weeks looking at various venues in CT to help my fiance and I narrow our choices as our visit to CT would be quick!\r\rThey literally stumbled upon Birchwoods at Oak Lane and met Danielle who was vacuuming the floors! My parents could not stop ranting and raving about how wonderful she was and how beautiful the property was. They knew it would be the perfect spot for my dream wedding!\r\rI got in touch with Danielle a few days later and received a very quick and enthusiastic response from her! She sent me a ton of pictures of the property which is gorgeous, but nothing compares to seeing it in person! We made an appointment for when I would be in CT to come and view the place.\r\rOn my tour, Danielle was very knowledgable, excited, and just absolutely wonderful. She answered all of my questions and was so passionate about this field of work. Knowing that my fiance and my time was limited in CT, Danielle prepared a taste testing for us which was completely indescribable. The food had such a gorgeous presentation to it and was to die for! We signed our contract hours after viewing this property as no other venues, and no other wedding coordinator compared to Birchwoods and Danielle.\r\rSince signing our contract in May, Danielle has been available via email or text for any questions I have had or my parents. Words can not describe how safe and secure I feel having Birchwoods as my venue and to have Danielle and her wonderful staff to help me with my big day!\r\rI will be definitely writing another review after our wedding as I know October 8, 2016 will be the best day of my life!!!

Hi my name is Jennifer and me and my \"husband\" (wierd saying that) Chuck got married at Birchwoods at Oaklane on Saturday July 11, 2015. I don't know how to start this review but I guess I can start by saying how amazing my wedding day was and Birchwoods was the perfect place to have it. From day one I was treated like a VIP. Anything I wanted, from bringing in a frozen drink machine to a cookie bar, they did it for me. When I originally booked my venue in the winter of 2014 it was owned by another venue. When I found out there were new owners, yes I did the bride freak out, but I was in for a huge surprise. Danielle, PJ and Trish welcomed me with open arms and even let my original event planner Alicia stay and help me every step of the way. Not only were they understanding and helpful, they had remodeled the entire place and it was even more gorgeous than before! All new ballroom windows overlooking the golf course and a new bridal suite that looks like it's made for a magazine spread. \rThey became more like friends than anything, and the day of the wedding went off without skipping a beat. The food was amazing, and the personal attention we received was awesome. Everytime I turned around I had food or drink in my hands. They really make you feel special and I highly recommend booking your wedding here. I just want to thank again Alicia, Jen, Trish, Danielle and PJ and the entire staff for making our wedding go down as we've heard from many people \"the best wedding ever\" xoxoxoxo
