Black Mountain Lodge is a mountainside wedding venue located in Dillon, CO. Sitting at an impressive 11,500 feet above ground level, this stunning event center is the perfect place to begin married life. You and your guests can access the lodge by chairlift, taking in the majestic views and spectacular scenery along the way. Weddings of up to 200 guests can be facilitated at Black Mountain Lodge, with several event spaces available. We just got married at A Basin on 09/09/23. This is the most STUNNING venue, we got so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding was. The guests had an amazing experience on the chair lift and the Mountain View’s, the food was delicious. Not to mention the staff specifically Ansley and Louise were so easy to work with and our day went perfectly! 10/10 HIGHLY recommend having your wedding here. You will absolutely not regret it!

We looked at so many venues before we stumbled across Black Mountain Lodge and knew we'd found the perfect fit. The location is unbeatable and the venue offers so many different packages and menu options to suit different tastes. We were so excited to have an adventurous mountain wedding experience, complete with a chairlift ride to the ceremony site, at a location that’s easily accessible from Denver and for traveling guests. As with any wedding, there were many last-minute changes to our plans; Louise took it all in stride and kept everything running seamlessly on the big day. The staff were all so friendly, professional, and welcoming. Our guests loved the menu, the scenery, and the overall unique experience the venue offered. We’re so glad we chose Black Mountain Lodge!

The absolute BEST ski-lift, mountain-top wedding venue in Colorado! A-basin is truly unique because of their talented team and the quality of their service. The chef's food was a standout (surf and turf), the ski lift operators created an extremely fun and adventurous experience, and the bartenders kept the party going all night. Ansley, our coordinator, was an absolute star and exceeded all expectations. Ansley was extremely accommodating and willing to be as flexible as possible so that every bride and groom can have their dream day. Not to mention, Ansley is also very responsive and organized - she did not miss a single question in my many emails. If I could get married again, I would pick A-basin 100%. Words cannot describe how amazing this venue and the day of coordinator Meredith is. Any issues that arose (which is bound to happen at a wedding) where handled timely and appropriately, I did not have to worry about anything on the wedding day with the professionalism and expertise of the staff. Everyone said that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been too and it was bc of this venues view and expertise, highly recommend, would never get married anywhere else. Black Mountain Lodge is such a beautiful place to have a wedding! And they really know what they're doing when it comes to organizing and making the night just flawless. We just had our wedding there and not only are all the staff just so nice and helpful and delightful, but also they really rolled with the different obstacles that we faced. When weather doesn't cooperate, they are on top of either fixing the timing or giving you ponchos to cover you for the chair lift up. Moving all the chairs inside when it's still raining is not at all an obstacle but equally gorgeous with their huge windows. Even if power goes out in the entire town, they keep the party going and your schedule on track and come up with solutions. But most importantly the venue is just so gorgeous. They really decorated it so nicely with beautiful lights, tables and linen. Obviously the backdrop of the mountains could not be more cool-looking. They also have themselves quite the amazing chef because that food was delicious. Thanks for making my wedding night an absolutely perfect night to remember, and giving me nothing at all to worry about.

We didn't need to think or worry about anything during our wedding, as our day of coordinator from the team, Ansley, was great. Thankfully the weather was clear, but we had such a peace of mind. A Basin is a beautiful location for your big day and we even had a bear crash our wedding. Between the views, the chairlift and the bear, our guests were swoon! We loved what a unique wedding experience our day was for us and our guests. We also enjoyed doing the new via ferrata a few days after our wedding, which was such a fun newlywed activity - the team there even had champagne for us at the top to celebrate our marriage!

I am SO happy we chose Black Mountain Lodge / Arapahoe Basin for our special day. Meredith and the entire staff were INCREDIBLE. From the various planning meetings, to answering quick questions through emails, to little details like having a beer ready for us after the ceremony they truly think of every little detail. We almost didn't tour this venue out of fear for the chairlift not being suitable for all our guests. But I am SO GLAD we did. If you have any hesitation because of this let me help put your mind at ease as my 85 and 92 year old grandmothers along with 15 kids (ranging from 6 months to 7 years old) were all able to ride up with no issues. And I am so grateful this day was not only memorable for us but all our guests as being mid mountain is such a unique experience. Especially for our out of town family who had never been to CO much less on top of a mountain. THANK YOU ABASIN.

We had our wedding at Black Mountain Lodge and it was everything I had ever hoped for. We are big skiers and we skied together for the first time at Arapahoe Basin. Meredith was absolutely wonderful to work with from the planning to execution the day of. She kept us up to date with all of the Covid-19 regulations and always made us feel comfortable. We hear nothing but wonderful things from our guests. We couldn't have asked for better staff to make our wedding perfect!

We had our wedding at Black Mountain Lodge and it was everything I had ever hoped for. We are big skiers and we skied together for the first time at Arapahoe Basin. We had our wedding at Black Mountain Lodge last week and we can't say anything except for \"wow\". We've been working with Meredith since we were engaged in 2018, and she is an absolute pleasure. The lodge itself is wonderful and people said it was easily the most unique wedding they'd ever been to. We had quite a few moving parts during our reception (oxygen bar, caricature artist, and other vendors) and it was handled perfectly. The food was spectacular and the wait staff were on top of everything and exceptionally friendly. If you're looking for a review for winter skiing/riding, A-Basin is also the place to be for that! Thanks to Meredith, the staff, the lift operators, the 6th Alley crew and everyone else for making it a weekend to remember!

The lodge itself is wonderful and people said it was easily the most unique wedding they'd ever been to. This was our dream venue and when COVID almost threw a wrench in it, we were devastated! However, Meredith and her team made sure we could have the BEST possible wedding with the amazing mountain backdrop. We switched from a full ceremony, cocktail, and reception to a ceremony/cocktail hour and the Arapahoe Basin team were so accommodating. We had zoom calls and in-person meetings with Meredith leading up to the big day to make sure all of our questions were answered and we felt great about the day's plans. On the day of, Meredith could not have been more helpful. She handled everything with ease and I didn't have to worry about a thing. 1000/10 recommend this venue!

Meredith and the people at Arapahoe Basin did an absolutely amazing job helping us through this very difficult time and worked with us to help get our wedding to happen! We were so thrilled to have been able to go there and get married. There aren’t many more beautiful places to get married. Not to mention the chairlift ride up and their ability to work well with our vendors was outstanding! If I could I would give them more stars!

Meredith and the people at Arapahoe Basin did an absolutely amazing job helping us through this very difficult time and worked with us to help get our wedding to happen! We were so thrilled to have been able to go there and get married. There aren’t many more beautiful places to get married. Not to mention the chairlift ride up and their ability to work well with our vendors was outstanding! If I could I would give them more stars!

What a fantastic experience we had hosting my daughter's wedding at the Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin!! The day was truly magical, thanks to our coordinator extraordinaire, Meredith!! She didn't miss a trick, from booking the venue, to after the dessert was served, she was there for every detail, so incredibly organized, and was such a DREAM to work with!! Loved that we were able to have the tasting in the evening at the venue, so we could get a feel for how the room would look for the wedding!! Meredith's vendor list was so helpful, and I can't speak highly enough about her, and her making our day so special!! The food - what can I say about the food - it was so incredibly delicious!! Every guest was gushing how fantastic everything tasted - and the portions were tremendous - I'm still drooling thinking about all the delicious food we had!! The entire staff couldn't have been more lovely to everyone, and made us all feel very, very special!! I would love to have all of my events there, that's how perfect it was!! We have such wonderful memories of the day, that we will treasure forever because of Meredith, the staff, the venue, the food, everything!! It was all INCREDIBLE!!

What a fantastic experience we had hosting my daughter's wedding at the Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin!! The day was truly magical, thanks to our coordinator extraordinaire, Meredith!! She didn't miss a trick, from booking the venue, to after the dessert was served, she was there for every detail, so incredibly organized, and was such a DREAM to work with!! Meredith, Havila, and the entire Arapahoe Basin staff were all incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. I have grown up skiing at A-Basin and always knew I wanted to get married there. From what my fiance and I could find, it was the most affordable and accessible ski area to get married at in Colorado. The food and drinks were amazing. For our entree, we had a duet of incredibly tender steak and salmon with two delicious sauces, broccolini, and smoked potatoes. The portion sizes were generous (some of our guests brought home leftovers for the next day) and they were very flexible with our guests who had dietary restrictions. I know we are biased, but my family thought it was the best food we've ever had at a wedding. Steve Vlass and Chris Ryback were great to work with and secured us my favorite sour beer from Crooked Stave, as well. The views are the best and all of our out-of-town guests were blown away. Although it is somewhat necessary to have shuttles to transport guests back to their hotels, I think it was worth it. We also felt the need to have an oxygen bar for our guests from sea-level. Many of them really appreciated that and it was a fun add-on. Although planning a wedding is always stressful, Havila and Meredith made it as seamless and easy as possible. Particularly on the day-of, they made it so easy to be present in the moment and stress-free. For our vendors, we used Megan Newton (photographer), Josh Cherry (DJ), Olivia Terry (flowers), Peak Oxygen (oxygen bar), and Peak One Express (shuttles). We highly recommend all of them! Thank you so much to all that contributed to our unforgettable day!

A-Basin was the very first thing we booked for our wedding. We visited nearly all the ski areas in the area before making our decision.A-Basin is unique because the venue is mid-mountain and they only do one wedding a day. It was the only venue we looked at where you really feel you are in the mountain. The view from the outside deck where your ceremony takes place is amazing. The fact that they only do one wedding a day was also a huge plus. We also liked that A-Basin isn't a part of a huge corporate ski empire.We also enjoyed talking to and working with Meredith - she definitely also factored into our decision as well. And she and her team really took care of us and helped us have a perfectly executed wedding day.The food at A-Basin is fantastic. We customized our menu, taking our favorite items from the tasting and adding additional things. Many of our guests said we had the best food at a wedding ever! We also liked the Black Mountain Lodge interior - its a simple wood structure that looks great but without the overdone elements that are in many mountain venues.A-Basin is also one of the few venues where you ride up on a ski lift. We definitely enjoyed that aspect. For many of our guests, this was probably the most adventurous thing they've ever done. The A-Basin staff and especially the lift operators really took care of them, stopping and slowing the lift as needed.Overall, we highly recommend having your wedding at A-Basin!

ABasin is our favorite ski resort and as soon as we got engaged we knew we wanted to get married at the Black Mountain Lodge. This resort offers the best views in Colorado and is very reasonably priced. Our wedding coordinator Havila was great to work with, she took care of everything. The entire ABasin team was outstanding too and made our day absolutely perfect and everything went so smoothly. Our guests loved riding the chairlift to the ceremony and many commented how good the food was. I would absolutely recommend ABasin for any couple looking for an outdoor alpine venue with unforgettable views.

What a great place for a wedding! We were looking for an outdoor mountain wedding with a feel of adventure and A-Basin was the best choice! We had only see the venue in the winter but it was just as beautiful in the late summer/early fall! Meredith was so great to work with. We had a rain delay but she kept everyone informed on the delay and the radar and we were able to wait out the rain and had a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the sun on the mountains. Our guests raved about the food, the views, and how much fun they had. The ski lift ride was a memorable experience for everyone and such a cool way to enter your wedding. All the staff that were running the lifts were also so kind and worked hard to dry off the lift chairs after the rain. They even extended their work hours without complaint to accommodate the rain delay and shift in the reception hours. The whole experience was so positive and memorable and we wouldn't have changed a thing!

The most beautiful backdrop you could ask for and Meredith takes all the stress off your shoulders. Ok not all of it but she is amazing and the rest of the staff also incredible. We had many people comment about the food being the best they have ever had at a wedding. We even got rained out and Meredith sprung into action! She handed out ponchos, and moved everything inside and it made it that much more memorable. Wouldn't change a thing thank you so much for the experience!

Black Mountain Lodge is the BEST wedding venue a bride could ask for! If you're deciding between A Basin and another venue, this is the one! Our guests we're in awe of the beautiful scenery and could not stop gushing about the fun chairlift ride. The food is absolutely delicious and they have so many options to accommodate every couple. My favorite part about the lodge is that it requires very little decor. The huge windows that expose the beautiful mountain and classic hanging lights are more than enough to set the tone for a whimsical mountain wedding. Also, if you're not the best planner, I highly recommend A Basin for their amazing coordinators - Meredith & Havila. You won't have to worry about a thing when you're in their hands. I didn't keep track of time or even think about the time all evening. I was able to be fully present and enjoy every moment knowing that their team had everything coordinated and under control in conjunction with my other vendors. The entire process was low-stress and so enjoyable. I cannot recommend this venue enough! Everything about it is perfect.

A-Basin is hands down, the most unique and exceptional venue in Colorado!! Getting married there was a dream come true! We were faced with several unexpected challenges since A-Basin was still open for ski season the weekend of our wedding (June 29th!). Needless to say, this was something we had not anticipated. Meredith, Havila and the entire mountain staff came up with creative solutions, ensured our guests were taken care of and executed our day flawlessly. Their open and responsive communication was clutch and put me at ease during the final weeks. I could not have asked for anything more!

AMAZING! The venue itself is gorgeous, and they made all of our wedding dreams come true. Meredith was absolutely a pleasure to work with, the food was fantastic, and the staff was incredibly accommodating! The wedding party and guests loved taking the lift to the ceremony and reception site, and we so enjoyed the privacy of having the lodge at the top of the mountain all to ourselves all night! 10/10 would recommend for a dream mountain wedding.

Where do I even begin?? If the views and the amazing chairlift ride up to your venue isn't enough to win you over, then the staff at BML will definitely do it. Everyone is so kind and go-with-the-flow and made us feel absolutely no stress. We dealt with Meredith at first and she was so kind and fun when we met her, she gave us all of the information we needed to officially book the venue. Then closer to the wedding, we dealt with Havila for all things wedding day and she absolutely blew us away with how involved she was with the entire process. From table arrangements to how exactly our flower girls would get off the lift and down the aisle, Havila made our day run without any wrinkles! Where do I even begin?? If the views and the amazing chairlift ride up to your venue isn't enough to win you over, then the staff at BML will definitely do it. Everyone is so kind and go-with-the-flow and made us feel absolutely no stress. We dealt with Meredith at first and she was so kind and fun when we met her, she gave us all of the information we needed to officially book the venue. Then closer to the wedding, we dealt with Havila for all things wedding day and she absolutely blew us away with how involved she was with the entire process. From table arrangements to how exactly our flower girls would get off the lift and down the aisle, Havila made our day run without any wrinkles! She not only answered all of our questions, but was also there for our families and accommodated them in every way she could. We LOVE ABasin, Meredith and Havila!! I grew up skiing at ABasin, and so it has always had a special place in my heart, but Meredith and Havila completely blew our expectations. I'm an event planner, so have high expectations for what I look for in vendors/venue/and staff, and Meredith and Havila completely went above and beyond. They were extremely quick to respond to my (many) emails, and were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We didn't get lucky with great weather the day of, but Meredith, Havila and the whole staff were incredible. Meredith watched radars, Havila directed guests to move the ceremony inside, the staff passed out ponchos as guests got on the chairlift, and my now husband and I had complete control on whether we moved the ceremony indoors, kept it outside, took the chairlift, or were driven up. The staff at ABasin made us feel extremely comfortable no matter what we decided. There couldn't be a more beautiful setting for a wedding, and a rainy chairlift ride made for a good story for our guests :) The vendors they recommended were INCREDIBLE, we couldn't have been happier with our shuttle company (Fresh Tracks), photographer (Ashleigh Miller), or musicians/DJ (Drew Reges). Overall, you will be extremely happy if you have your wedding at ABasin and will start your married life on a GREAT foot ;) THANK YOU to ABasin for creating and supporting the greatest event we could have ever imagined!

Great experience start to finish. Meredith and her team kept us updated in the year + we were working on our wedding. Meredith was great dealing with our PA and FL parents as we took them up for their first visit a year before the wedding date. You forget that people aren't used to that environment! In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Meredith was always available to us and worked through some minor issues with us with our attendee list. Rehearsal was super smooth and Meredith rolled with everything. Its easy to get stressed as the Bride and Groom and to see her not stressed was comforting. She clearly explained what needed to still happen between rehearsal and wedding and exactly when it needed to happen. If she didn't need to communicate with us, and could deal with a friend or vendor, she did. That helped removing additional stress. Day of was great. The venue was immaculate. The staff, doing I believe their 2nd wedding of the season was amazing. Thank you, Mary!!! The food was exactly as we requested and they dealt with some dietary restrictions with ease. Our vendors were in constant contact and everything was set up easily. I don't think we asked of anything out of the ordinary on the day of the wedding but it was nice to know that if we did, Meredith and Mary, and their teams would have bent over backwards to help us.We still have friends commenting on how amazing the venue and views were. What else can I say? The star rating is accurate, \"Wow, the best ever!\"We looked at other options the experience was really what was most important to us. BML checked off all the boxes and gave us a memory that will last for ever for the two of us and for all of our friends and family. I would recommend BML to anyone looking for a real mountain top wedding, and I'll gladly attend!

My wedding at A Basin was better than I ever could have imagined. My guests were blown away by the chairlift ride up to the lodge and by the views. Working with Meredith and the other A Basin staff was so easy and I really felt like they cared about making my day perfect. Meredith worked with us to make sure we got everything we wanted within our budget. For dinner went with the BBQ and people were coming up to me all night saying how good the food was. On the day of the wedding I felt like the A Basin staff really went above and beyond. They were highly organized and everything was right on time. The little details matter and A Basin has those covered. They even made sure to make me a plate of appetizers when I was too busy taking photos to eat. Wish I could relive my wedding day at A Basin over and over again!

Your wedding is the only wedding at Abasin that day. You can work on a custom table plan with your wedding planner and spend time setting up the venue just how you like. From the majestic views, incredible food, and wonderful staff, ABasin truly delivers a 'legendary' experience;) Our guests raved about the unique setting, loved the chairlift, the staff was warm and attentive, and the food was truly amazing! From the very beginning Meredith made us feel so well taken care of. She was professional, engaging and patient with us through our decision making process, we can't thank her enough! Truly the best day of our life! Everything about Black Mountain Lodge was out of this world. From the majestic views, incredible food, and wonderful staff, ABasin truly delivers a 'legendary' experience;) Our guests raved about the unique setting, loved the chairlift, the staff was warm and attentive, and the food was truly amazing! From the very beginning Meredith made us feel so well taken care of. She was professional, engaging and patient with us through our decision making process, we can't thank her enough! Chef Chris Rybak prepped an incredible menu, and his staff executed it perfectly. The serving staff made us feel so well taken care of...amazing. If you're looking for a true mountain experience, this is your place.

We held our wedding at the Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin last week and had an absolutely amazing experience. Meredith, Chris, and the team are true professionals that know what it takes to make your special day work. They were flexible, caring, and patient throughout the process and helped us create a day that none of our guests will ever forget. The location is gorgeous, the food is sublime, and the staff were helpful and gracious. I would highly recommend Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin to anyone that is looking for a mountain wedding location. This venue is a hidden gem compared to all of the other big resorts. Huge thank you to Meredith for all of her hard work and for helping to make our wedding unforgettable and perfect!

It has the most beautiful mountain backdrop because of its location, everyone gets to ride a chairlift up (which is a huge deal for those who have family all over the states), and your wedding is the ONLY WEDDING that day!! Not to mention the best star viewing on the chairlift down at the end of the reception. Meredith is also an amazing coordinator, she handles all your questions and concerns from day one and takes a lot of the stress off the couple. Perfect venue for those who love the outdoors and want something a little more intimate and special.

We were married at the Black Mountain Lodge at A Basin in July 2015 and highly recommend it! From the very beginning, working with Meredith and her crew was easy and all of our questions were answered in a timely manner. As the wedding approached, Meredith was extremely helpful in working out the logistics and enduring us that she would make sure everything ran smoothly - and it did! \r\rMy husband and I love to ski at A Basin, so the location was personal to us. For all of our out of town family and friends, the mountains were breathtaking and it was so much fun to ride the chairlift up to the venue and back down at the end of the night. There was also alternate transportation for elderly guests. The food was awesome- we did tacos and it was a hit! Another fun part of getting married at A basin is that your \"tasting\" is getting to go for free to one of their snowshoe dinners- which are so much fun! \r\rThe scenery, food, efficiency and friendliness of the staff, and perfect amount of space at the venue for dancing all contributed to an amazing night. So many guests have told us that this was the most unique, beautiful and fun wedding they've ever been too and I couldn't agree more as the bride :)

Unlike other venues everything takes place at the top of the mountain which is a beautiful setting and you're not busy avoiding other weddings on the same day. The staff and especially Meredith are amazing and so professional. We loved every minute of our wedding. The actual fee to book the place is extraordinarily affordable at only $3000. The food and booze can add up quickly but Meredith is great and honest about helping you stay within a budget and make the day work for you and what you want. There are options for all budgets big and small in terms of food and alcohol. Can't recommend this place enough!

If you are considering getting married here it is likely because of the breathtaking views and 'cool factor' of riding the lift up. The backdrop made our pictures amazing and all the guests loved the chairlift ride, especially the trip back down at night.\r\rWhat really was the icing on the cake for us though was the great service. It started with Meredith who was the perfect combination of being laid back but also being very on top of EVERYTHING. She was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. The food was great (especially for the price) and the service was very good.\r\rJust a couple of words of caution. First, do not underestimate the effect of the altitude on out of town guests. We had many that did not do so well and wished we had thought about an oxygen bar or oxygen tanks. Second, make sure you are aware that CO law prohibits brining beer home after the wedding. We were short of the minimum and decided to make it up with extra beer that we thought we could bring home, but this turned out not to be the case.\r\rAll in all though it was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it. You simply cannot do better if you want a unique mountain wedding.

The setting was perfect, no random mountain visitors milling around and you can't beat the view! I actually didn't eat, but the feedback we got on the quality and presentation of the food was great. Meredith also did an awesome job of keeping everything on track and I wasn't even aware if there were any issues.

A Basin is the best value for your money in Summit county. Black Mountain Lodge is a beautiful, private lodge completely surround by mountains. \rMeredith, the wedding coordinator, made the planning easy. She is attentive, quick to respond to questions and always willing to help. Meredith was also invaluable on the day of our wedding. Chris, the chef, created a delicious buffet which can be difficult to do! He also made our wedding cake, one of the best carrot cakes we've had.\rI would recommend A-Basin to any couple wanting a mountain wedding in Colorado with any hesitation.

So I will start by saying that our wedding day was BEAUTIFUL. All of the guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. The food was great, the service was good, and I can't think of a more beautiful place to get married in Colorado. Also, Meredith did a great job running the show during the rehearsal as well as the actual wedding day. \r\rHere are some of my thoughts and comments on the year leading up to the wedding: \r\rThe customer service leading up to the wedding was a little bit disappointing. Now this may be the place for all of you 'no worries' people to get married, but if you are any sort of type A this is probably not your venue. A few reasons I say this: First reason being that their average response time to any sort of e-mail (and I like to put things in writing for legal purposes) was around a week or more. Really the shortest wait time being a day or so, most responses around a week or so, and some e-mails took two weeks or more to be answered. And when I asked what was taking so long I was told that there were 6 weddings ahead of me. Second issue here was that they were not very good at keeping their word. We had several instances where I had to \"put my foot down\" for lack of a better word. We were promised certain sized tables and linens, and they decided to change this on us about 7 weeks before the wedding, and then again a whole 2 days before the wedding. Again, if you're extremely 'whatever', this is probably your venue, but if you would be angry with them changing your linens from floor length to just below the table, 48 hours before your wedding, this is probably not your venue. They say it with a smile, but it really took me being very bridezilla to get them to eat the cost and get me what I was promised. \r\rA few other side notes, they do not do tastings.....so you will just have to trust that whatever dinner you end up ordering is good. Ours did turn out well but rarely will you find a wedding venue that won't let you taste the food you're going to buy from them....in mass quantities. We were offered to attend a dinner series for free but that won't necessarily be what you want to order for your wedding and they fill up very quickly. \r\rThis website says they can accommodate 200 people. I think that's pretty generous. We had about 120 and the dance floor was tight. I would think anything over 150 in there would be very uncomfortable. \r\rAlso, you have to take ALL of your trash down the mountain at the end of the night. This being flowers, any glassware, décor you don't want, etc. I was obviously not part of the clean up crew but family members did say this was...suprising.

My husband and I were married at Black Mountain Lodge in June 2013, and it was better than I could have imagined. This was a destination wedding for us. We had visited about 8 different sites throughout Colorado, but none of them compared to Black Mountain Lodge. Meredith (the wedding coordinator) is amazing, very accommodating and one of the nicest people I have met. She made it easy to plan a wedding from far away :) Chef Rybak's food was outstanding, and we had so many menus to choose from. We had the pleasure of meeting with him personally to talk about pricing and menu. The staff at BML create a very relaxed atmosphere, and I never felt rushed or nervous about the ceremony or reception. Many of our guests said this was the best, most refined wedding they have ever been to - and the most fun :) Not to mention, the pictures were amazing! Also, the ski lift is awesome to ride up to the mountain on! Our guests loved that! We were on a budget, and this was by far the best value. The food, the service, the views, everything was perfect.

I got married this summer at the Black Mountain Lodge and it was most definetely the best choice we could possibly have made. The scenery was spectacular and all of our guests raved about how fun the ski lift ride was (even the grandmas!). The staff was extremely helpful and did their best to make our day perfect. Meredith, the site coordinator, is extremely talented at her job and goes out of her way to make sure every little detail is perfect. She even fluffed out my train as I got off the ski lift! The food was delicious and many people said it was the best they had at a wedding in a long time. The ambiance was very relaxed so I wasn't nervous at all on my wedding day. It was also very nice to be so isolated and have the entire mountain to yourself. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride. As soon as we met Meredith and saw the site, we cancelled all our other site visits and knew right away this would be the perfect place for us.

My husband and I were married at Arapahoe Basin, Black Mountain Lodge July 15, 2012. After looking for a location that could accommodate my one dream as a bride - to ride on an open chairlift to an outdoor wedding venue - we were introduced through Bella Planning and Design to Chris Rybak and Meredith Smith at Arapahoe Basin. \rFrom the first phone call to Chris, to the site inspection in March 2012, to the long distance (San Diego, CA) planning and many email and phone calls; every detail and request was met with the most genuine and sincere attention. \rMeredith and Chris were available and with us every step of the way, working side by side, with our wedding planner to ensure every detail was covered. \rChris was excited and open to our desire to create our own menu from his many delicious options, offering our guests a “family style” dinner. It was AMAZING and we are still hearing about it a year+ later. It was, by far, the best food we have ever had at a wedding and all our guests shared the same sentiments. \rThe one last wish my husband and I asked of Chris was to help us create individual cheesecakes to be shared at each table to include 4 different types of cheesecakes (plain, chocolate, caramel/sea salt and fresh berry). Not only did Chris welcome the request, he personally made every cheesecake (21 tables) and created and designed our wedding cake. It was absolutely perfect and again, the best cheesecakes we have ever eaten – his family recipe. \rMy husband and I highly recommend Arapahoe Basin and Black Mountain Lodge for not only weddings but any special occasion you find a need to rent a mountain, ride a chairlift and completely surround yourself with the beauty Colorado has to offer. \rThank you A-Basin, Chris and Meredith – we appreciate you bringing together all our requests and making our wedding the most amazing day ever!\r

Once my hubby and I visited Black Mountain Lodge and met with Chris & Meredith our decision was made. Of course the views are outstanding for a wedding! But we were also extrememly impressed with the staff who were helpful, friendly and went out of their way to ensure our ceremony and reception was perfect. We received many compliments from our guests regarding the \"Best reception food we have ever eaten!\

Choosing to work with Meredith and ABasin was the best decision we made for our wedding. Everyone was so helpful and responsive, the food was amazing, they were so well organized. When we started wedding planning, we were looking for a venue in a mountain setting, but were dismayed at all the wedding factories we visited. A-Basin was the opposite. Chris and Meredith were friendly, gave personal service, and helped us create the wedding of our dreams. Our wedding guests were mostly from the east and west coasts and enjoyed the unique experience. Chris' food was so delicious! The major drawback is that the weather can be unpredictable. There was a huge hail storm so that our rehearsal was cancelled. Luckily, there was an hour of clear weather on our wedding day so the guests could go up in the chairlift to Black Mtn Lodge. It would have been disappointing for the guests to have been shuttled up. Our ceremony ended up indoors, but with the huge windows, our guests could still appreciate the majestic view.
