We just had our daughter’s wedding at Black River Barn and it was absolutely amazing!! The weather was perfect so we were able to have their ceremony outside and the cocktail hour on the patio, absolutely stunning! The large ballroom with the three huge crystal chandeliers and the brides room is so perfect and beautiful , which is very unique to Black River Barn!! Not to mention Nicole and Tina were so kind and pleasant ! They were very patient and punctual with all of my little questions throughout the year! Overall, Black River Barn is an amazing, beautiful and stunning venue! Thanks again Nicole and Tina for a perfect wedding 💕

Black River Barn was the most perfect place to have our wedding reception! Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but the entire team was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire wedding process. Couldn’t have picked a better venue!

As a wedding coordinator I rarely write reviews, but Black River Barn and their staff were just too good to not sing their praises! Leading up to the wedding day, their communication was incredibly speedy and thorough. On the day-of, they thought through every detail and helped wherever they were able. Tina and the staff were polite, cheerful, and added so much peace and confidence to the couple's wedding experience. This venue truly thought through everything with the bride & groom getting ready suites, outdoor entertainment areas, and the large/open, beautiful reception space. Black River Barn has been the best venue I've worked with and I could not recommend them more!

I’ve worked with the Black River Barn on several occasions as a vendor and I can’t say enough positive things about the space, staff and overall atmosphere. The owners out so much attention to detail when creating the space and they’re also kind. Their staff runs so well and efficiently. The space… is dreamy. Between the outdoor firepits, indoor fireplace, flooring, and aesthetic, they have covered all of their bases. I’d recommend any friends getting married to consider BRB.

I’ve worked with the Black River Barn on several occasions as a vendor and I can’t say enough positive things about the space, staff and overall atmosphere. The owners out so much attention to detail when creating the space and they’re also kind. Their staff runs so well and efficiently. The space… is dreamy. I am a Michigan wedding planner and I must say, I was absolutely blown away by the way Black River Barn onboards and directs their clients throughout the entire process- from booking to wedding day. Not once did I have to reach out for information, the entire team is always several steps ahead and ensure no detail is missed! I have been to hundreds of venues in my short lifetime and I can't name one venue that comes close to the level of support the BRB Team provides. Aside from an incredible team, the venue is absolutely stunning. The bridal suite and grooms lounge are incredibly spacious and perfect for getting ready. A full size kitchen is absolutely WONDERFUL (no worries with catering, they are well-taken care of!). Ample parking for guests and an incredible accessible space for your grandparents are MUCH appreciated. I cannot wait to work my next event at Black River Barn! Keep up the great work!

Book it! We choose this venue for the South Haven location, and we were blown away by the service and the amenities. The BRB team was so patient and detail-oriented throughout our planning and our October 2022 wedding day. Our guest loved the venue and setting – from the bridal suites to the gorgeous outdoor space, including the fire pits. This venue made our wedding feel truly special.

Book it! We choose this venue for the South Haven location, and we were blown away by the service and the amenities. The BRB team was so patient and detail-oriented throughout our planning and our October 2022 wedding day. Absolutely perfect venue. I cannot adequately describe the peacefulness I felt on my wedding day arriving at BRB at 9am and not leaving until the reception ended. The getting ready rooms are perfect for the soon-to-be newlyweds, with beautiful lighting, high end sound system, and designated bathrooms. The decor is tasteful and elegant with lots of natural lighting from the east--just lovely for getting ready photos. The staff are fantastic to work with. Nicole, Taylor and team are incredibly organized and somehow managed to be there and make sure everything was perfect but I barely saw them once. The space is gorgeous, indoors and out. The only potential downside is having to use their preferred caterers, but honestly I felt like it helped narrow an incredibly broad field. Would 100% recommend this location.

We could not recommend the Black River Barn in South Haven more highly. Our son & his fiancee were married on a beautiful autumn day under the heated roof of their back veranda, with the gorgeous colors of the surrounding fall foliage as a backdrop. The reception was held inside their wonderful lodge-like building. Every guest was awed by the beauty of this space, with its high raftered ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers, double-sided fireplace, dramatic outdoor fire pits, and unbeatable ambiance.Owners Nicole & her brother James Slott could not have been more attentive and helpful, assisting us in navigating the COVID crisis and the resulting change in our wedding dates. Their advice and calm presence was invaluable. Their expertise was always at the ready, whenever questions arose, and their communication with all parties was always excellent.Every detail of their facility has been carefully thought out and implemented: from the huge professional kitchen and restaurant quality bar, to the bride's suite - complete with beauty shop chairs and mirrors, perfect for getting ready on the big day - to the comfortable groom's suite, to the staircases ready for whatever dramatic entrance you might want to make. Even the restrooms and cloak room are top notch. The Black River Barn exudes class, and you can see where every penny spent has gone to elevate the wedding experience for both the happy couple and their guests. The Black River Barn delivered a perfect wedding day. We could not have been more happy with our experience there.

Ample, clean, well-stocked bathrooms. A large, spacious, well-lit Bridal suite. A cozy & quiet Groom suite. Multiple ceremony spaces & options. A large charming fireplace and outdoor fire-pits that were perfect for pictures. Beautiful and well-maintained grounds. Ample & well-lit parking. Multiple video screens and a large projector screen for photo slideshows and video. On-site sound & mics that made the ceremony a breeze. When looking for a wedding venue, my husband and I immediately knew that BRB was the one for us the second we stepped foot in the doors. We immediately fell in love with the beautiful spacious rustic indoor space, gorgeous chandeliers, modern bar space, fireplace/fire pits and the surrounding forest. We also loved the beautiful bridal and grooms suite + balcony/patio where we got ready with our wedding party (it was the only venue we had visited that had a grooms suite!). Covid restrictions definitely posed numerous obstacles to all of our wedding planning. Luckily, the owners of BRB were EXTREMELY flexible when we had to postpone our wedding date and very helpful in all of the planning. They were very easily reachable and answered all of our million questions throughout our wedding planning process. Due to covid restrictions we had to move the reception outside. BRB has a beautiful and spacious patio that allowed us to have a wedding better than we could have ever hoped for! We used the outdoor staircase for our grand entrance with the bridal party. We hung up many string lights and our DJ used uplighting on the surrounding forest backdrop. All of that in combination with the fire pits created a very warm, charming, romantic, and intimate atmosphere. We had numerous guests comment that it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. BRB also have a very spacious kitchen that allowed our caterers to cook on site and provide delicious and warm dinner to our guests. We would 10/10 recommend choosing Black River Barn as a venue to celebrate your special day. The owners were truly one of the kindest vendors we had a pleasure of working with! We lucked out with finding BRB, which is a beautiful space that met all our needs. While they do have a large indoor space, we kept the wedding outdoors due to regulations. We had set up one tent for the ceremony and another two more for the cocktail hour and the live band/dance area respectively. BRB had more than enough outdoor space to accommodate our needs. They also had the most amazing suites for the bride and groom. Each of them was spacious with couches, a TV each and Bluetooth connection to built-in speakers. The bride’s suite had a station where the stylists could set up and help get everyone ready for the big day. The groom’s suite had a foosball table and an outdoor patio to relax as everyone was getting ready. We had the most special wedding and it was in big part due to BRR. Overall, this was an excellent space and we got numerous comments on how this was one of the most beautiful wedding venues our guests had attented.
