Blissful Hill is a countryside wedding venue situated just outside of Spicewood, TX. Nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country, this picturesque property provides once-in-a-lifetime celebrations of all shapes and sizes with a serene and secluded setting. It features exquisite surroundings, a dedicated coordination team, and comfortable accommodations, making it perfect for weekend weddings with your nearest and dearest. Situated on 21 acres of sprawling farmland on the banks of the Pedernales River, Blissful Hill provides the quintessential backdrop for ‘Lone Star State’ celebrations. It should be noted that Willie Nelson was the property’s previous owner, and it’s hard to get more Texan than that. The venue is easily accessible from Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, and San Antonio, making it ideal for couples looking to escape the busyness of big-city life. It is currently owned and operated by Ernie and Katrina Midkiff, a husband-and-wife duo with over a decade of experience in the wedding industry. AMAZING!!! I cannot say enough about Kara and Katrina and the entire crew at Blissful Hill. We booked the venue in July of 2022 almost 18 months before the wedding. Kara was wonderful taking my thousand phone calls and texts over the past 18 months with all the questions I had. She never once made me feel like I was bothering her; I'm going to miss talking to her! I wanted a perfect day for my daughter and her husband and I can say I was stress free the weekend of the wedding knowing that Kara had everything under control! They took care of every minor detail with a smile and a helping hand. They truly made my daughter and son-in-laws wedding PERFECT!!! They are the sweetest family and have the best vendors! The photographer/videographer/DJ/bartenders ALL took great care of the B & G. The food was great as well. They listened to all the little details that we wanted and fulfilled them ALL. We stayed on property and rented the big house along with the cabins and that worked out great. All family and bridal party were all together all weekend which made it easy and convenient. I would hire them again!

This is the ideal wedding venue for a beautiful, low stress, hill country wedding. Kara did an amazing job taking care of everything I wanted! She would text and email me back in a timely manner. Even the little details I brought with me, she set up perfectly the day of! This is a one stop shop for you’re wedding! They include: DJ, photographer, food, cake, flowers, decor, EVERYTHING! They truly take care of you! Down to making our plate of food before allowing anyone else to eat! (The food was amazing by the way.) I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience!

Our wedding was originally scheduled in May 2020 and we postponed to March 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Katrina, Kara, and their team took care of us so well! I cannot recommend them enough!Unfortunately, COVID royally screwed our plans. Blissful Hill worked with us and allowed us to move our date, no fees attached. We also reduced our wedding size. We came to them at the end of 2020 and let them know of our revised plan. They exceeded our expectations and were completely willing to accommodate our new plan. I truly could not believe it after hearing so many horror stories from other brides who weren’t allowed to change their date, or had to pay a costly fee to change their date, and who could not make any revisions to their original plan. If COVID were not enough, it rained ALL DAY on our wedding day and we had originally planned to keep everything outside. I literally made the decision to bring it all inside a couple of hours before ceremony start, they were so flexible and were able to get everything moved to be indoors! Luckily, however, the rain cleared just enough for us to have a beautiful ceremony outside still!Originally, we selected their venue because of the seamless experience their all-inclusive venue could provide. I gave Kara my Pinterest board and we had a couple of meetings to discuss some of the smaller details and I told her that I trusted her to take it from there. She and her team delivered the most dreamy, beautiful wedding day!! I think one of my favorite things that really set our wedding apart from the others was when, as the bride, I was escorted down to the ceremony site in a neat old vintage car. So cool! For those who are wondering what is and is not included, here is my list. Included in the “Dress and We do the Rest”: venue, tables, chairs, flowers, bouquets/boutonnieres for up to 6 bridesmaids/groomsmen, centerpieces, food/serving staff (a choice of BBQ, Pasta, or Fajitas – we chose fajitas and many of our guests came to us after the wedding to let us know how much they enjoyed the food!), cake/cake cutting (Michelle’s Patisserie – absolutely fabulous cake!), DJ (we hired a live stream service who also DJ’d for us, but there is a DJ available included in the package), bartender and bar supplies, photography, 4 cottages that sleep up to 18 people for the whole weekend. Not Included (things I purchased): hair/makeup, bridesmaid robes, glowsticks for dance party, sparklers for send off, Save the Dates/Invitations and postage, bridesmaid bouquet ribbons, bouquets/boutonnieres for bridesmaids/groomsmen over 6, snacks/drinks for getting ready the day of, guestbook or other item for guest signing, alcohol, cups/napkins and ice for the bar. Other add-ons the venue can provide for an additional charge – food for each guest over 150, there are some various food and snack add-ons for the day of that you can select, they can host and provide a rehearsal dinner the Friday before for an additional cost per guest, there are additional cottages on the premises that can sleep up to 26 more guests. Note that the “Big House” has to be booked via VRBO, but the other cottages Blissful Hill can book for you, as long as they have not already been booked by someone else (these cottages are open to the public).Thank you so much to Blissful Hill for an absolutely amazing day!

Had the best time working with Kara and Katrina at the Blissful Hill! They made everything super easy and were willing to go above and beyond to make our day special and exactly how we envisioned it. They offer all inclusive packages which takes so much pressure off during the planning process. The location is great and all of the nearby rental houses allowed the wedding party and some guests to stay onsite to make the weekend super easy. I couldn't recommend this venue and the staff enough!

Blissful Hill was the perfect venue for our big day! It was so nice to have Kara cover all of our decorations, catering, flowers, and DJ. It eliminated all of the moving parts that typically come with a wedding. The entire staff at Blissful Hill were so helpful and accommodating. They made the entire process easy and smooth!

I would absolutely chose Blissful Hill 100 more times! The day Blissful Hill created for us was perfect in every way. Kara and Katrina made sure every single detail was taken care of, and cared so genuinely about our day being everything we wanted it to be. The day of the wedding we realized my dress hadn't been altered correctly, and Katrina jumped in even here, and completely fixed it. Our experience with Blissful Hill could not have been any better. They truly go above and beyond!

We immediately felt so welcomed by Katrina and were overwhelmed by the beauty of the venue, it was seriously unmatched. All I can say is MY HEART! Literally bursting at the seams. Blissful Hill made my entire vision come to life. The inclusive package made life so easy where I wasn’t having to manage too many vendors at once. The staff was fantastic! Kara and Katrina worked so hard to make the day was everything we could have ever hoped and dreamed and that we didn’t have to do anything ourselves day of. Erin decorated the space that far exceeded what I could have even imagined - and the flowers were insanely beautiful. Seriously the ENTIRE TEAM goes above and beyond. I have a very hard time letting go of planning things, but I could trust them with it all.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The venue was absolutely stunning, Katrina and Kara took care of everything I needed, I could not have felt more comfortable. They are genuinely wonderful people that will go above and beyond to make your wedding day everything you’ve ever dreamed of. One thing I will say is that they are the best at finding solutions to your problems. My cake was destroyed on the way out to the venue (we decided to pick it up ourselves.) With a lot of TLC they saved my cake, no one even noticed it had melted.

It has now been a month since I got married here and not a day go by without us looking back to our wedding day and feeling so thankful that Blissful Hill was where we spent the first day of our marriage. On our first visit we met Katrina and Kara, and after a tour/walk-through with them, we signed on the spot. After going to 16 venues in one week, I knew this was the one. I loved being by the lake with such a beautiful outdoor environment and an open and clean reception hall. It barely needed any decorations which was a plus. The owners were nothing but nice, helpful, thoughtful, and outgoing, it was nice that they were family run. They were easy to get into contact with. It was a newer venue so they were updating things as the time went along, and every update they did was subtle and perfect. Katrina and her family had such a great eye on how to put a wedding together. They offered varying packages and included one called “everything but the dress” but we opted for the lower cost one and found our own vendors. They did our reception decorations, bartenders, provided tables, set up and took down, and provided a day of coordinator (Katrina, the owner). We stayed the night in the cabins which made it an easy weekend without having to travel far. We also had our rehearsal dinner there which worked great, they set up and took down tables. I got so many complements on the venue and how cool of a place it was. Some room for improvements would be to only communicate with one day of coordinator (because they have two), I felt that information was sometimes miscommunicated and lost. Secondly, there was another event hosted on Friday in the reception hall even thought we would have the whole venue the entire weekend, but they were barely noticeable so it worked ok. I loved this venue and would highly recommend!

Oh, Blissful Hill. Where to start? My now-husband and I met in Austin and when we got engaged, decided almost immediately that we wanted to get married there. Living out of town, we researched endlessly the costs and logistics of various venues in the Austin area. When we found Blissful Hill, we were shocked by the quality of their weddings and the stunning venue, and were even more pleasantly surprised that they were available in April when we were hoping to get married. From the earliest planning stages to the days after the wedding, they were a dream to work with. Time and time again, they reassured us (and our parents!) that they had it taken care of and more importantly, showed us that they did. They worked with us tirelessly to make sure they were clear on our vision and knew how to bring it to life. They went above and beyond, particularly the day of the wedding. In what could have been several nightmare scenarios - a guest tripped and got injured, there were torrential storms up until an hour before the ceremony, several older family members were freezing cold due to the winds - they handled the day-of emergencies to the point that my husband and I didn't even find out until after the fact. They took care of every person who was there, from providing blankets, to giving golf cart rides down the hill, to even giving us some leftover sparklers so that we could have a sparkler exit. We had an issue with trying to make returns to the liquor store the next day since it was a Sunday, and Katrina offered to return it for us. I mean, WHO DOES THAT!? I cannot thank the staff at Blissful Hill enough for helping to make our day perfect. We have nothing but incredible memories of that night, and I know it was largely due to them. If you're a future Blissful Hill couple, you're lucky, because you are in the best hands!

Blissful Hill is the most wonderful place to get married and not just because of how beautiful the property and the venue are. The family and team that run this place add the most genuine and personal touch. They make you feel like family and go above and beyond to bring your dream wedding to life. I got married there on September 29th and right before the ceremony it rained..hard. They set the whole thing us for an indoor wedding, and then the rain stopped. I have ALWAYS dreamed of an outdoor wedding. When the rain stopped, Katrina looked at me and said, \"Do you hear that? The rain is gone! Do you want to do this outside?\" And just like that the team wiped everything down, accompanied my guests outside, and made my outdoor ceremony dream a reality. I can't thank Katrina, Kara, Erin, and the whole clan enough. You'd be crazy to get married anywhere else!!!

Blissful Hill was amazing! They were there for us every step of the way. They are top notch people who will make you feel like family. I didn’t have a single care on my wedding day. We fell in love with these guys. The venue and grounds will speak for themselves. You don’t need to add much of anything to make it your own. Having the cabins for the weekend made the world of difference also. We loved having our wedding party spend the night all together. It was amazing!

I first visited Blissful Hill on a dreary winter day - crummy weather, dead grass and barren trees. The driveway was torn up...and I wasn't feeling so sure...Then I met Katrina. I knew immediately that I wanted place my very special day in her hands and the hands of her team. Everything that happens at Blissful Hill is a labor of love. The team is top notch and cares deeply for their clients. (And turns out they were installing a new fire hydrant...thus the torn up driveway. Every time I went after that, some awesome new addition had appeared - freshened up paths, new landscaping, etc.)They offer lots of different packages, to make it as much of a one-stop-shop as you like. For me (a lowish maintenance bride with a short engagement and busy season at work), picking a package was a life saver. I was so pleased with everything that they provided and the vendors that they worked with for everything else. When I look back on our wedding day, all I can say is that it was exactly what I wanted. The food they served was delicious and one of the most efficient serving lines I'd ever experienced at a wedding. They took care of our flowers and decor and it was all beautiful.The location on the river is absolutely gorgeous. (and makes for stunning photos) The reception barn is full of light and makes a perfect place for a party. Every part of the venue has Katrina's touch on it - she truly has the gift of hospitality. Kara is an amazing day-of-coordinator and planner - so easy to work with and cares about making your day your day. The team is amazing at making your vision come to life (and at giving great ideas and suggestions if you're a little stuck coming up with a vision). If you want to work with people who care...this is your team!I would marry my husband a thousand times over and we would choose Blissful Hill again every time.

We absolutely fell in love with this venue. I'm actually sad it's over because of how much fun it was to plan. Everyone at Blissful Hill was so nice and welcoming and made the wedding day stress free! It was fun, beautiful and worth every penny! I can't wait to renew our vows here in 10 years! Katrina, Kara and Erin did an amazing job of giving our daughter the wedding of her dreams! What a fantastic venue, can't say enough of how much we appreciated everything they did for us, we were blown away by the overall experience. The food, atmosphere, scenery and overall experience was exactly what we were looking for in a venue. The venue played a huge part in the success of our weekend and the amount of our guests who are still talking about your venue is testament to that.

Kara and Katrina 🙏🏾😏🤗 we can't say enough about these two amazing women. They are truly heaven sent. Both of them and their family welcomed us with open arms during our initial meeting. It felt more like a family get together than a venue appt. We met with the venue when it was just a barn, but we fell in love with them, and there vision. After meeting them, we knew we wanted our wedding at Blissful Hill and it was the best decision we ever made.. The entire event was flawless from the decoration, to the ceremony, to the food and lighting. Our guests were beyond impressed and literally had the time of their lives.. Majority of them stated that it was the best wedding they ever attended. Kara was extremely hands on and walked us through every step during the preparation of the wedding. Without her, we would've been lost. Also, when meeting Erin, she was so hands on with the floral décor, it was absolutely gorgeous. The open communication that we were able to have was great, always willing to assist with any questions I had, day or night. I want to thank them for making our wedding a dream come true.. Do not waste your time visiting any other venue. BLISSFUL HILL IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.. TRUST ME. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

What can I say?! This Venue had it all! The views are spectacular! The owners are amazing! Katrina & Ernie are some of thr kindest people in the industry! (I am one of those that truly take customer service experiences seriously). I was one of the first brides that took a chance and booked with Blissful Hill when it was just on slab. I am so happy I chose them! All of our guests were amazed with the gorgeous views. All the little details that went into the barn, and the little cottages made everything so special and magical. Our guests were impressed by the helpful hands on owners, and were with us every step of the way. Katrina (owner) is one of the sweetest and kindest persons I've met. She was so helpful and made sure the bride/groom were truly at ease and everything was taken care of. Our guests took the most beautiful photos at this venue! There are views for days! The place is so relaxing and so laid back, but yet elegant and charming! I would highly recommend this place not only for magical weddings but any social event!

I met Kara and Katrina before this venue was built and I knew that they knew what they were doing. I put all my trust in them and they delivered a ceremony that was BEYOND anything I could have ever wanted!! They are an amazing family and they are sooo wonderful to work with and so hardworking!! This venue is as close to the lake as you will get in the Lake Travis area. The area is so versatile, you can get whatever you want out of the land! The barn is HUGE and with a built in bar, bridal suite, and grooms suite it can fit a very large party. We used most of the recommended vendors and even though we were warned against it (by friends and family), it was the best decision the caterer on site is AMAZING, and everyone is a joy to work with! And, Erin (their florist), gave me exactly what I wanted and then some! Blissful Hill is truly a Blissful place!! If you want someone to take away the stress of wedding planning, these are your people!if you want someone to let you do your own thing, these are also your people!

We had our wedding at Blissful Hill and could not be more happy we booked here. We went with the all inclusive package and had so many options for decorations, flowers, and food. As the groom all I cared about was good food and it was amazing. Even the cake and photographer were great. It was awesome having our wedding party staying onsite with us and hanging out for our wedding. This venue won't disappoint you!

Blissful Hill is such a beautiful venue. There are several reasons we chose this to be our venue for our summer wedding including the peaceful hill country views, the on-site lodging, and the gorgeous ceremony spot that is surrounded by water on three sides and lined with trees. The barn is almost ready and I was able to tour and see just how grand the space is! The drive out through Spicewood is also gorgeous. Plus this is a family run business. Kara and Katrina are both such sweet people and I had the pleasure of meeting with other members of their family as well. Their entire family is so invested in the Blissful Hill and making our wedding special. I spent a couple of hours on the property and honestly didn't want to leave. It felt like home! We couldn't be more excited for our wedding at the Blissful Hill!

Keep in mind that this place is still under construction, but the owners are some of the most wonderful people my fiance and I have met! We drove over an hour to see the land, and the mock ups, and we fell in love. No other venue could provide a lakeside ceremony site, onsite lodging, and a huge reception space PLUS a huge discount for being one of the first couples to book! This is clearly a family business and they are not out to nickel and dime us, in fact, they have made us feel like part of the family! We have never had any issues with communication and the owners are very honest and open about progress. We are 200% confident that our wedding will be amazing here! I've never felt so confident signing a contract. There are no hidden service charges or fees and we have so much freedom to customize our 200 guest wedding the way we want. So many of the other venues we visited had 12% service charges, insane bar fees, fees for even non-alcoholic beverages, fees to PLUG IN THE LIGHTS, rental fees for the bridal suite, mandatory cake cutting fees (even if we cut the cake ourselves), etc etc etc. Blissful Hill is straight-forward and they even have space at the end of the contract to write in additional details not already addressed.The owners have a floral company, so we were able to discuss flowers and get a quote while checking out the venue. My fiance plans on having the groomsmen out on the boat and pulling right up to the venue since there is a boat dock right there! I can't understand why anyone would give Blissful Hill only 2 stars for it not being complete when they have stressed that fact REPEATEDLY. We are so excited and feel so lucky to have found this place. I can't recommend it enough! If I could give it more stars I would! We will be reviewing after the wedding of course, but as of right now, we LOVE Blissful Hill! Thank you!

My fiancé and I were excited about going to see this venue as a potential for our wedding. Kara, the woman we worked with, is very nice and passionate about the vision she has for Blissful Hill. However, at this point in time, this venue is only a vision. When we drove up, there was a dilapidated, seemingly abandoned house across the street from the spot where the venue will be. We got in Kara’s golf cart and drove down to the waterfront, which is beautiful. Apparently, there a barn that was disassembled is being transported in to be reassembled on the site. But, there is an existing structure that needs to be torn down. The land has yet to be graded or the foundation poured. When we asked for renderings of what the finished product will look like or a detailed timeline, all we were provided with was a hand sketched picture of a barn face and layout of the rooms. We believe that there is a lot of potential at this location but the unprofessional presentation of the property and misleading information left us disappointed, especially after driving an hour from Austin to view the venue.
