I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience planning a wedding at Blue Harbor. We started with Annalise when she first joined the Blue Harbor staff, and she was absolutely amazing to work with the entire way through. The wedding was planned somewhat long distance, as we live in Illinois and would travel up to Wisconsin for things like the tasting and event itself. Annalise was incredibly responsive and helpful in every single email, to every single question I asked. Everyone was so incredibly accommodating to every request, from getting guests checked in early, to allowing my fiance and I to book the captain's suite beyond the one night complimentary stay, to allowing me into the event space early to decorate, to even allowing me to have french toast served as one of my entree options for the dinner. No matter what request I had, Blue Harbor made it happen. When an unexpected family emergency occurred days before the wedding, Blue Harbor was courteous and accommodating in cancelling rooms and made sure that any staff who needed to know the change in circumstances, knew, so that I didn't have to keep relaying the news to everyone I encountered. The wait staff at dinner was so incredibly friendly, especially Margaret, who took the time to share her congratulations with my husband and I and share how much she loved our story. Years ago, when my family had vacationed every winter up at Blue Harbor, I had seen a wedding onsite and I knew that someday I wanted to get married at Blue Harbor. Every single person we worked with over the course of the last year or so has made this experience an absolute dream come true, and not even in my wildest childhood fantasies could I have imagined how incredible a Blue Harbor wedding would be. Thank you so much to everyone involved, my husband and I are so excited to return to Blue Harbor for many years to come.

Beautiful space/location, but that is it. Realizing a lot has changed during the pandemic (e.g. staff shortages in hotels overall, location of the event being in a more rural area), I would say the reviews state what may have been with different staff. There are staffing issues, coordinators have changed, which was disappointing. If you are there for the location, then be there for the location, but do not expect anything beyond what you get in writing. Hope others have a better experience.

We hosted our Wedding Weekend here at Blue Harbor Resort and it did not disappoint! My husband and I have a 6 year old and it was important that we make this week something that he would remember just as much as we would remember it. The combination of this amazingly beautiful resort and the awesome water park was exactly what we didn't know we wanted!Our wedding was very formal and the venue was a perfect fit, from the wall to wall windows looking over the lake to the amazing and professional staff. We had that beautiful, almost royal, feeling all weekend long.We recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a gorgeous venue and all the accommodations you could need!

We were so happy with our wedding at the Blue Harbor Resort! They were so welcoming to us during our initial tour (which wasn't the case at other venues) and seemed so prepared. Obviously the venue itself is just amazingly beautiful so that also played a huge role in our decision. Working with Laura was effortless and she was so helpful to us in many ways. All of our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was and how flawlessly everything seemed to go. We did not have any major hiccups. They prioritized checking in our guests which was important to us since our wedding was at 3pm and check in wasn't technically until 4. Thankfully everyone was able to check in early and did not have to leave our wedding to go check in. We were very happy with the Blue Harbor and would choose them again if we had to do it all over again! I also got my makeup and hair done in the spa and was very pleased with the results. The staff in the spa could not have been any nicer!! I would very much recommend them as well.

Blue Harbor was our perfect destination beach wedding, without the travel! Living near Chicago, and wanting a beach wedding, in the middle of a pandemic, was NOT ideal! Travel requirements were crazy, passports were backed up, and many still didn’t feel comfortable traveling. After a quick Internet “beach wedding near me” search, Blue Harbor came up and had everything i wanted! Laura was the absolute BEST at helping us plan our wedding, to the smallest, most intimate details! We talked daily, and she planned our entire event in ONE month! Our long weekend stay at blue harbor was fantastic. Everything we needed was promptly taken care of by polite, friendly staff. We plan to revisit annually for our anniversary ❤️

My husband and I had our wedding at the Blue Harbor Resort in the Peninsula room. It was everything we had hoped for and more! Our wedding coordinator, Laura, was the greatest help. She truly made it so easy to relax on the big day and not stress out over anything. She is so kind and so happy to be a part of your special day. The venue, ceremony location, and food at the Blue Harbor Resort were amazing, and I would recommend it to anyone considering having a special event here!

We decided to get married here in summer 2020 after moving from another venue on 7 weeks notice. Paulette and her team moved heaven and earth for us to make this happen and were SO accommodating and helpful. Which was a welcome change from the venue I had initially chosen in Milwaukee. People said that our food was phenomenal (we went with the filet and the chicken breast) and knocked the socks off a different local hotel venue. Everything was on point and perfect from Blue Harbor's perspective. It actually beat our Plan A. We couldn't have been any happier to have used Blue Harbor. Everyone still talks about what a great time they had, they loved staying at BH, and they loved our wedding bartender - even a year later (YAY Sam!)

Choosing Blue Harbor for our wedding reception was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Leading up to the day, Paulette, their coordinator, was very responsive with every question we had and on top of all of our deadlines. Between her and all of the rest of the catering staff our night went off without any issues. Not only is the staff amazing, the space is absolutely beautiful! Having our reception right on the lake was absolutely amazing. We would recommend Blue Harbor in a heartbeat.

Choosing Blue Harbor for our wedding reception was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Leading up to the day, Paulette, their coordinator, was very responsive with every question we had and on top of all of our deadlines. The first time I met Paulette, she told me that she expected Blue Harbor and her team to exceed my expectations and they did just that. I am a 2020 Bride- my wedding was originally May 30 & was changed to Aug. Paulette worked through the struggles w/ us rather than trying to nickel & dime us on anything she could. She had reasonable solutions to everything &I was overall impressed with BH’s response to COVID & postponement of the wedding. Paulette answered my questions promptly, often picked up her phone on the 1st call (rather than needing to play phone tag), & worked out every detail w/ me. The day of the wedding I didn’t see her much. Once I was introduced to my waitress, Jaime (who was great), I asked her if Paulette was even at the event. She pointed Paulette in the back of the ballroom. Everything went without problems and I hope Paulette was standing there happy knowing she sure did exceed our expectations. She followed up promptly later in the week and was available for the final bill. I cannot say enough great things about her and Blue Harbor is lucky to have them as part of their team. Paulette met me just before our rehearsal to sign the final estimated “bill.” As a bride that was definitely caught up in the moment, I did miss a few lines that were not what we discussed and ultimate had added charges after the wedding. Ultimately, I signed all pages, but after the fact and when bringing this up to Paulette, she was quick to resolve the issue we presented her with. There were a few other lines we didn’t mention because of the small amount and our satisfaction with her fixing the larger amount difference. I would recommend that whoever is paying the bill comes to the rehearsal dinner 15 minutes early to review EVERYTHING- or review the one emailed even a few days earlier (which I have to admit I didn’t as I was traveling to get to WI and got caught up in the pre wedding activities).We also worked closely with Martina and Kendall with room blocks. Blue Harbor requires a 90% attrition which is a bit difficult in planning and was even more so with COVID. Fortunately, Blue Harbor worked with us regarding room blocks as well. While Blue Harbor is indeed a business, their staff made us feel as though they had our interest a priority rather than money. For that we appreciate them and recommend them without hesitation. We stayed in a 4 room villa that was lake front. The villa was surely dated but served the purpose. The villas were in a great location however we were a bit concerned regarding the cleanliness, especially during a pandemic. My mother cleaned frequently touched areas (such as the railing on stairs) in which the Lysol wipe turned black- definitely confirming their “Healthy BLUE Program” was not strictly adhered to. There were many dead bugs that were plastered on the outside of the building by the doors and around the light posts that I thought could have been cleaned up especially considering we were getting ready for a wedding there were professional photography and videography there. The BH team did seem receptive to other advice or concerns and therefore we have trust that these issues will be addressed with their team and it will be resolved in the near future for any potential guests.Thank you, again, Paulette and BH team. Our guests had endless amounts of compliments of the weekend. My 86-year-old grandpa told me he had one of the best filets EVER, others have said it was the best wedding they ever attended.

The resort was beautifully decorated and it provided a gorgeous atmosphere which completely enhanced our wedding photos.

The venue was beautiful! We had an outdoor wedding but paid to have the Peninsula Room as our backup location in case the weather was bad. Cocktail hour was in the Peninsula Room, which was perfect! The food was great as well! A few minor hiccups throughout the day, but nothing major. Overall, we are very happy with our decision to have our wedding ceremony and reception at Blue Harbor Resort!

I absolutely loved having my wedding at Blue Harbor! It's a beautiful location and you don't really need many decorations for your ceremony if you do the beach location...simply because of the beauty. We had some issues with changing wedding coordinators because our previous one had to quit suddenly but we ended up working with Jan and Luz who were great! They made sure that we got everything that we wanted and that everything flowed smoothly! Blue harbor is kind of a one stop shop, ceremony and reception in the same place, don't have to deal with outside catering (Blue Harbor's food was AMAZING, all of our guests couldn't stop talking about how great the food was), don't have to deal with table and chair rentals, and the prices were very reasonable. Back in 2013 on a trip to Blue Harbor I saw a ceremony being set up on the beach and I knew then that I wanted my wedding to be at Blue Harbor...best choice I ever made!

We went with Blue Harbor Resort for our ceremony and reception. The venue was absolutely perfect. The on-site coordinator was easy to work with, and everything through the planning process went so smoothly. The day-of went great - there were no noticeable problems, and all the guests loved the food, the set-up, and the convenience of having everything in one place. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with Blue Harbor again - I absolutely loved it!

We went with Blue Harbor Resort for our ceremony and reception. The venue was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue that will make the entire planning process and the wedding day an absolute breeze and offer the best time for your guests, the Blue Harbor is your only option! Kendall Weber, the wedding coordinator, is more than just someone who handles the event planning for weddings at BH. She LITERALLY treats every wedding as if it were her own. From the minute we spoke the first time, to five months later when we had our wedding, she did everything possible to ensure we had the perfect wedding at affordable costs. To be clear, we had 400+ guests at our wedding -- all coming from out of town seeing as we are from Chicago -- and it was incredibly affordable, the food was beyond excellent... and most importantly, the service from the staff was beyond anything we've ever encountered. Everyone kept saying how I was \"the most relaxed bride\" and I can honestly say that it was because of the professionalism and dedication of the Blue Harbor staff (in all departments) who made the entire weekend the best one of our lives! Our wedding has been named \"the best wedding ever\" by all of our guests! Thank you to the BH staff for everything you did to make this an unforgettable memory! We made our wedding weekend hotel blocks like 7-8 months in advance because we know they are busy being on Lake Michigan during the summer months and we did not want to go into a contract, so we could only do 10 nights at a time. Jessica the group block coordinator was very helpful. When people could not get rooms because our block was full, she added more rooms to help us out. When all of the rooms that were usually part of the blocks were gone, she added a variety of rooms that allowed all our guests to stay there. One of the drawbacks though is that the hotel block is dropped 2 months before the wedding date and the rooms can no longer be guaranteed after that date.

We had both ceremony and reception at this location. Our Ceremony went without a hitch and was absolutely gorgeous. Our reception looked great but unfortunately we had some issues. During our slideshow presentation the visual stopped working, so she tried a back up copy which the audio didn't work on. We knew both copies worked fine since we tested them at home. Most people enjoyed their dinner but a few of us (including myself) got sick off the chicken. The staff didn't seem aware as to what the food contained, so one of my guests in particular received the wrong dish that had allergens in it and had to leave early because she was sick. A few of my guests and wedding party were having to pay for drinks that were supposed to be covered on our tab, all of these people said it was a girl taking their order, not the usual bartender (Sam). Kendall is looking into this issue for me. Aside from these hiccups the staff was helpful, Caesar and Kendall did a great job helping us along the way and Sam did an excellent job tending the bar. They did a great job staying in touch (including after the wedding) and it was an absolutely gorgeous day.

I had a very nice wedding at the Blue Harbor. We had our ceremony and reception there. The food was amazing! My guests had a good time that night. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff was nice. However we did have a few problems. My guests had a few problems booking their rooms and we were not all on the same floor. My ceremony was rushed due to another ceremony being scheduled too soon after mine. The resort did accommodate us for the issues we had, but I feel more could have been done on their part.

I had a very nice wedding at the Blue Harbor. We had our ceremony and reception there. The food was amazing! My guests had a good time that night. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff was nice. However we did have a few problems. My guests had a few problems booking their rooms and we were not all on the same floor. I chose Blue Harbor because of the beautiful setting along Lake Michigan. I am originally from this area, but live out of state, and in my mind, there are very few places as lovely in this area. We held our intimate wedding and reception in the Island Room and it was beautiful and elegant indoors and out. The planners and staff were great and did everything they could to make our day special and what we wanted.

We had our reception at the Blue Harbor Resort. It was nice to have our reception here as most of our guests were from out of town so they could stay right at the venue. Food was great, bar options were great, and wedding planner was very nice. However, we ordered lots of additional cake to have as leftovers for the rest of the weekend. The wedding coordinator and kitchen staff were notified of this, and somehow all of our cake just disappeared. Over 80 servings that were not served to our guests, nor given to us. So that was not so pleasant.
