Located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is a museum venue that hosts weddings. Set on 35 acres of stunning grounds, this historical property sits just a short stroll from Fort Lauderdale Beach. Couples who choose to spend their day here can select from a range of spectacular settings for romantic nuptials.
While the history of the estate dates back thousands of years, Bonnet House itself was built in 1920. Hugh Taylor Birch purchased the estate for his daughter and her husband, the artist Frederic Clay Bartlett. Much of Frederick's work remains at the museum today, along with the paintings completed by his second wife. As renowned art collectors, the couple’s collection of work is sure to delight and surprise newlyweds-to-be and their guests alike. The property was donated in 1983 to the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Surrounded by a myriad of luscious gardens, water features, and natural foliage, it offers an idyllic setting for weddings and receptions. Couples and their guests will have access to the exclusive use of their chosen space. Whether you want to exchange vows in the fragrant Hibiscus harden or in the veranda overlooking the water, you’re sure to be delighted with the spectacular surroundings.
Bonnet House Museum & Gardens works with their dedicated partners A. Alexander Events to ensure that every occasion is a success. Their dedicated team will take care of all your event planning needs, including organizing the catering. This team can also provide a list of vendors that have previously worked at events on the property to ensure a flawless flow. Couples can access the property before the ceremony with their photographer. They will also have access to the get-ready suite to prepare for their day.

Megan Boyar(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-02-2022 This place is such a hidden gem. There are no other venues like it. Our guests loved how beautiful and quirky the space was! Cristina Suriel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-07-2021 Wow… such a beautiful hidden gem. My husband and I were looking for a place that we would be able to have a small intimate ceremony surrounded by nature. The moment we stepped into the Bonnet House we knew we had found our venue. The staff there are absolutely amazing and helped us every step of the way. We didn’t hire a wedding planner as we did the ceremony only package. David and his team helped coordinating during the rehearsal and day of wedding. Everything went smoothly during the wedding. Thank you David and the rest of the team at the Bonnet House!! Anne M(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-01-2020 So amazing. A rare gem in what is busy South Florida. Totally secluded, away from all roads, quiet, and surrounded by nature. Not only that, but the staff are amazing. Attentive, professional, a true wedding venue. They were SO accommodating to me and my family, and so great the day of. I cannot recommend this venue enough. I got so many complements from my guests. This place is SO unique. I can't say enough amazing things. Reviewed on 19-02-2020
Ashley L(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-03-2019 We discovered the Bonnet House on a tour and it was love at first site. The artistic expression of the Bartlett family permeates throughout the estate and drew us in. At the end of the tour, we inquired about the possibility of renting the property for our wedding venue. This was prior to our engagement! It was the only decision we were ever sure about and it truly was the best decision we made throughout the wedding planning process. The Bonnet House provided us with a whimsical garden theme and the elegance of The Great Gatsby we were looking for. Our wedding was truly a fairytale and our guests were so happy to be there. Equally wonderful was the events manager David and all the volunteers of the Bonnet House. Everything was seamless and by far the easiest part of wedding planning. It was such a pleasure working with the Bonnet House team who truly made the experience a dream come true. We cannot wait to go back to visit! Reviewed on 08-04-2019

The staff is attentive and beyond friendly...especially David. Thank you for making our dream wedding come true! Reviewed on 06-02-2019

Stephanie Conesa(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-01-2015 My husband and I were married at The Bonnet House this past January and we could not have been happier with the location!\r\rThe grounds and the home are beautiful, tranquil, and provided the perfect backdrop for our vision of a romantic, elegant garden wedding. \r\rWe were hesitant to spend such a chunk of the budget on the venue, but it was well worth it. \r\rOur guests adored the location and I heard from more than one that they adored the place and it made them feel \"transported in time\"- and, truly, this place is its own magic hidden spot. \r\rAside from the beauty of The Bonnet House, I cannot finish this review without mentioning Nicholle Maudlin, the Events Director at The Bonnet House. From day one she was extremely helpful and sweet, and all of the staff and volunteers went above and beyond.\r\rWe recommend this venue whole-heartedly! Reviewed on 03-02-2015

Cristina Abboud(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2013 We could not have hoped for a more special and magical setting for our wedding! We were looking for a venue that would allow us to have our ceremony on the beach with a reception nearby. We were hoping to find a place that would match the earthy, vintage, organic feel we wanted to create for our event and once we saw the Bonnet House we knew we had found the perfect venue. This venue has it all - limestone facades, bright colors, tropical foliage, swans, monkeys... the list goes on and on... The event manager, Nicholle, made sure every detail was taken care of and the museum volunteers made sure that our affair went off without a hitch! We chose to bring in our own caterer which was also a big plus for us - we had the opportunity to use a caterer we knew and trusted. If you are looking for an old Florida flair, beach access and lush tropical gardens for your wedding, Bonnet House is just for you! Reviewed on 25-06-2013

Christina Tsonas(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-05-2012 The Bonnet House is one of the most beautiful outdoor venues in all of south Florida. If you haven't been there in person, I would highly recommend you take a look before you book a south Florida outdoor wedding somewhere else. The staff is incredible and very professional. They have done many weddings there and everything ran very smoothly. They don't nickle and dime you along the way, and they put a lot of effort into the overall production. I was extremely pleased with them from every aspect. Reviewed on 29-05-2012
Karen Novak(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2011 Amazing from start to finish. Nicholle, the special event coordinator, is just top notch, i can not say enough nice things about her. They did a beautiful job setting up, and the day ran so smooth. Since i didn't have a wedding coordinator, nicholle went above and beyond. Even though they had another wedding that day, I was never rushed or felt less important. Not only was nicholle great, but the volunteer staff is just as amazing. So sweet and all my guests commented on how super nice they were. The photos turned out beautiful. My wedding was in november so the weather was beautiful. One word of advice, around the end of summer, the place was super buggy due to all the rain. That is pretty much the norm in south fla, but just a heads up Reviewed on 28-11-2011
Daniela Treitl(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-03-2011 This venue could not have been any better! I wanted an outdoor wedding with lots of natural beauty, and when I first saw Bonnet House I fell in love. Their website doesn't do the facility justice, but once I visited, I knew this was the place I've always dreamed of. Nicholle, the event manager, is amazing to work with. We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in 3 different spaces, so that guests got the feel of the property. It was stunningly beautiful before we decorated at all! We did one of their all inclusive packages, but the property can be rented without the use of their caterer as well. Overall, we were very satisfied, and the pictures could not have been any more gorgeous!!! Reviewed on 08-04-2011

It was chosen for our destination wedding, however, it was a place that many people and our friends who have lived in Fort Lauderdale, had never been!!! It's still a beach \"wedding\" and easily accessible to everything including your hotels and beaches and activities of Fort Lauderdale. Nicole, the events planner at the Bonnet House, and all of the volunteers really help you out the day of your wedding!! It's amazing. It's such a different venue, I highly recommend checking this place out!! Reviewed on 27-10-2010
