A Gorgeous Lavender Farm Venue

Brittingham Farms is a barn and farm wedding venue located in Millsboro, DE. The members of the Brittingham family are the owners and proprietors of this beautiful property and working lavender farm. You can anticipate a rustic and remarkable experience in this pastoral retreat. The property that is now known as Brittingham Farms has a long history. In 1930, Harold Mumford purchased the farm, and it has been in the care of the Mumford-Brittingham family ever since. The Brittinghams have been living in Millsboro and Southern Delaware since the days of the Revolutionary War, with several ancestors buried in the nearby Revolutionary War cemetery. The fields of the farm were tilled conventionally for around 90 years, rotating through corn and soybeans without irrigation. In 2019, the Brittinghams invested in three center pivots to irrigate these fields and changed both the name and the focus of the farm. Four generations ago, they diversified and opened the property up to the public. Proud to be a member of the US Lavender Growers Association, the family grows lavender in addition to raising Leicester Longwool heritage breed sheep. In addition to hosting weddings, the owners also accommodate agri-tourism, classes, and other events. Brittingham Farms makes a wonderful setting for a country wedding, with an outdoor area complete with a covered area for exchanging vows. You can enjoy the lavender and lamb experience as part of your festivities, as well as partake in dining at tables set up and laid out under the sky.
