With the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern elegance, Brodie Homestead will provide an unforgettable backdrop for your event. The wooden gambrel roof, adorned with stunning crystal chandeliers, creates a spectacular setting – and just 10 minutes from downtown Austin. From large seated receptions to intimate gatherings, our venue can easily adapt with custom draping for events of many sizes.
In 1949, the Brodie Homestead barn was built by John and Charlotte Weaver, who had moved to the 280-acre homestead in 1945. The structure functioned as a barn for nearly 50 years, and was home to cattle, horses, and donkeys, among others. After an extensive renovation, Brodie Homestead opened for business in 2014 and has since been host to hundreds of beautiful weddings, corporate events, holiday celebrations and non-profit fundraisers.
The grand wooden structure and six stunning crystal chandeliers create a spectacular setting. White draping adds a touch of softness to the barn, and natural elements of rich barn wood and white limestone combine to provide an impressive interior.
Brodie Homestead is designed to accommodate various event sizes. While the barn is large enough to hold a grand gala or reception, it can also be broken up into smaller areas with the use of gorgeous white draping. It is perfect for intimate celebrations or multi-functional events.
Our staff is eager to welcome you into our space, which is completely customizable for your needs. Tables and attractive chairs are included with all of our rentals, which can be set up in a variety of arrangements to suit your guest count and preferences.
The incredible cathedral-like ceilings and large stone walls are original to the barn, and nearly all of the wood used inside the building was repurposed from the original structure. There were also some new additions, including the six crystal chandeliers and the recycled maple floors.

With the ability to \"flip\" or divide the space, it's a great venue to host both your ceremony and reception. I would also say that Brodie is very versatile; of course, it has the rustic look, but the chandeliers add an extra touch of elegance..and that statement wall - a stunner. The venue can truly be transformed to whatever you envision! Access to the venue is convenient and Brodie has it's own parking lot, which is great. We wanted a venue that was close to downtown, but still had a Texas vibe - this was the perfect location for our guests and is very well priced compared to many of the venues in Austin. Brodie Homestead was the only venue we toured, and we knew immediately that it was where we wanted to get married. The venue is the perfect juxtaposition of chic and rustic, with wood floors and a gorgeous limestone wall, and beautiful chandeliers. It was also so close to downtown, with plenty of parking, all indoors (super important for our June wedding), and the AC was fantastic! The Brodie Homestead team was communicative, and professional, and made sure we knew when our deadlines were and exactly what restrictions we had, down to little details (all very reasonable). Nikki Kelly(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2022 Brodie Homestead was the most perfect wedding venue. I had done a nonprofit fundraising event here for work, so my now-husband and I decided it wouldn't hurt to tour the venue when we were first looking at places. We were so surprised how much we loved the space and continued to compare other places to Brodie Homestead before finally deciding on it. The venue itself is stunning with its high ceilings, chandeliers, and beautiful stonework - we really didn't feel like we needed to put a bunch of decor up in order to achieve our classic, romantic wedding theme. Juliana was great to work with and so accommodating to our needs. We worked with a handful of their recommended vendors (who all exceeded our expectations) and enjoyed the flexibility of being able to work with our own vendors as well. We also loved all of the outdoor spaces around the venue for pictures - you definitely can't tell that the venue is right next to the Sunset Valley shopping area at all. We used many of the preferred vendors and were beyond impressive by the quality of service we received. The venue is beautiful without any flowers or decorations so with some additions, it was absolutely stunning! We had a high guest count and almost all our guests were flying in, so we wanted a venue that was close to downtown (where everyone would be staying) and the Brodie Homestead was perfect! We used a lot of the in house furniture and everything was exactly what we needed. All the tables and chairs were set up for us in advance and broken down at the end of the night which really helped make the day run smoothly. Since the Brodie Homestead is mostly indoors (we ended up having a bar outside as well as cocktail tables and lights to give guests an option to go outside) we didn't have to worry about a rain plan - this took a lot of stress off our planning and it ended up being a beautiful, sunny day!Overall, working with Juliana at the Brodie Homestead for our wedding made the planning a breeze and we were told by many of our guests that our venue was magnificent! The barn itself is beautiful, but we felt it ended up being more expensive than the value that we got out of it. Some if it was because we had less guests (90) than expected (120) but we also had to spend money on things to make it more \"wedding like\" - including standing lights at the perimeter, stage lights and the music system for the dance performance. We also did not find that their preferred vendor list was updated - I had a hard time finding for the right hair and make up artist. In addition, we had several problems with their stage lights / music system vendor that caused a lot of problems near the end close to the date of the event. That being said, Juliana was helpful and response. and this is a good location if you want the barn look in a location within Austin. Dan Dionne(groom)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-03-2018 My 3-star review is not about the venue but the management. If you are looking for a great place to get married, the Brodie is easily one of the most beautiful and romantic venues you could choose. Our day was incredible, the photos and our memories of our wedding at Brodie are memories that will stay with us forever. HOWEVER, we could not be more disappointed with the management and how we were treated the night before our wedding. We booked the venue 15 months before our wedding date and had most of our vendors booked about 12 months in advance. Our wedding was on a Saturday, and we had clean up for Monday because there was no event booked on Sunday. This was all done 12 months in advance. On Tuesday on the week of our wedding we got an email saying they booked an event on Sunday and that we owed $450 for late clean up so they could set up on Sunday. I understand they booked a last minute event but we booked 15 months in advance, I would think that the extra cost should be absorbed by the venue or the late booking rather than us. I had emailed several times back requesting to talk about this and did not get a call back until Friday night after 8:00pm the NIGHT BEFORE our wedding. I do not remember who I talked to but she was unapologetic and was adamant that the extra cost was to be absorbed by our event. She was short, rude, went as far as to say \"what do you want me to do, turn down business?!\" when I asked how she thinks it is fair that we owe. With the fact that we had booked so far in advance and a very late booked event, the extra cost to us should have been paid by the late event or the venue. It was very clear that if we wanted our $1,500 deposit back we were going to have to pay the $450 clean up fee. We absolutely love the venue, the atmosphere, everything about it is perfect. If you want a breathtakingly gorgeous place to get married, you really cannot go wrong with getting married here. It is unfortunate that the management ruined our view of the venue by forcing us to pay $450 for a late booking they made. It showed us they have little care for your event but for the money. Judi Yi(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2019 PROS: 1. The venue is so stunning, you don't need a lot of decorations. This definitely helps your decor budget. I received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was.2. We had just under 100 guests, and it was the perfect size. There was tons of room on the \"cocktail hour\" side, so the guests did not feel cramped.3. The bridal and groom's suites with private bathrooms were very cute and comfortable. All restrooms were very clean.4. Juliana is very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. She will help put together very detailed, accurate diagrams of the setup for you.5. The staff setup the tables and chairs for the ceremony and cocktail hour exactly according to the diagram.6. We booked our wedding on a Sunday to receive the lower rate. The previous evening was booked for another wedding, so it wasn't available for a rehearsal, but Juliana allowed me to have my rehearsal Saturday at noon, and then we had a rehearsal lunch, instead of dinner. It worked out fine.7. Their website provides a detailed list of recommended vendors. Brodie requires you select one of their recommended caterers, but other than that, you can use anyone.CONS:1. Be aware that Brodie will only supply tables and chairs, no linens, and of course, no food or beverage. Pay close attention to their inventory of tables. They only supply (20) 60-inch rounds, (1) 48-inch round, (200) folding chairs, (5) cocktail tables, (4) 6-foot tables, and (4) 8-foot tables. I was disappointed they didn't have an actual bar. We had to use (2) 8-foot tables, but it worked out fine.2. Many years ago, I worked at a wedding venue in Sugar Land, and we provided an event coordinator the day-of at no extra charge. We communicated with the catering staff and DJ to ensure everything ran smoothly and according to the provided timeline. We helped with setup and teardown. Again, this may be standard for Austin venues, but be aware Brodie does NOT include any coordinating services. They do provide a Manager-on-Duty for your event, but I was told he will basically only assist with adjusting the temperature and lights. The day-of, I never met our MOD, and I believe he stayed in the office most of the night. We took First Look and Wedding Party photos outside by the oak tree. I had seen photos online of a much larger green area, but no one could find it, and the MOD was no where close by to ask. When it was dancing time, the lights were still on full blast, and I had to ask a friend to ask him to adjust it for us. You will definitely need to hire a Coordinator to run your wedding. I was lucky enough to have an old co-worker from Sugar Land coordinate mine for free.3. You are required to have 1 meeting with Juliana 4-8 weeks before your wedding. You will most likely have to come during regular business hours, which do not include weekends. My husband had to use a vacation day to attend, but that was to be expected. It was fine.4. Not really a con, but be aware you're only allotted 10 hours in the venue. This includes setup and teardown. We gave ourselves 3 hours of setup time. Fortunately, I had several family and friends volunteer to help, so we were ready with plenty of time. We also ended the party 1 hour before the venue closed to pack up and give the catering staff time to clean up and load out.The pros truly outweigh the cons. If it's within your budget, you will not regret having your wedding at Brodie Homestead. Overall, 5 stars! Thank you, Juliana, for hosting us! Reviewed on 05-09-2019

Allison was a pleasure to work with and helped us by answering our questions at each part of the process (we are out of state). The venue looked great with some DIY uplighting (it helped to have some extra lighting) and the main wall needed very little extra decor in our opinion. We liked how the placement of everything worked together--the food at the back of the room made sure that people could get their food with minimal interruption to the program and locating the bar near the dance floor made it easier for people to get their drinks (but still continue partying). Allison was great making sure our outside caterer fulfilled their responsibilities, and the combination of working with her and Lauren from Austin's Elite ensured that we had all of our bases covered. We would highly recommend Brodie to others in the future! Reviewed on 02-03-2017
Catie Creed(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-11-2016 We had our November 19, 2016 wedding at Brodie Homestead and loved it! It was the perfect size for our 125 guests. We had our ceremony offsite and only used Brodie for our reception but it was perfect. It is such an elegant, beautiful space that comes to life when you put everything together. All of my communication with Brodie throughout the planning process was great although I didn't really have to interact with them that much. The location is great. We got the rustic feel without having to drive out of town and as a space the chandeliers make it just as pretty if not prettier than the places further out of town. Going with Brodie Homestead was definitely a great choice. We loved it and our guests loved it. Reviewed on 21-12-2016
Kate Haisten(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-12-2017 Staff and service was fantastic! Everything went exactly as planned on our wedding day. Our main POC left close to our wedding day, which made us pretty nervous, but the staff did a great job of transitioning our wedding over to another member of the team and we were extremely happy with the venue. Jenny B(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-10-2009 I had my wedding at Brodie Homestead this Spring and it was nothing short of spectacular! The staff was so accommodating, we were able to customize the event to make it exactly what we wanted, and in the end it was so much better than we had ever envisioned! The venue is clearly beautiful, but being inside with lighting and flowers...it was truly magical. I still can't believe I had my wedding in a barn - it's SO not me! But this barn isn't rustic, it's elegant, stunning and fabulous. I would seriously live in it if I could! It feels like the inside of a Restoration Hardware catalog. Best venue in Austin! Margo Pillischer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-09-2017 I had my wedding at Brodie in early May and I can't say enough about how wonderful everything was. The staff was so easy to work with, very accessible, and able to answer any and all questions I had. One of my favorite things was that the staff had so many gorgeous suggestions for how to best utilize the space! I got so many compliments on my wedding and was so so so happy with my venue. Thank you Brodie!! Reviewed on 25-07-2016
Courtney Marshall(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2016 We had our wedding at the Brodie Homestead on June 4, 2016. We had approximately 110 guests and the space worked perfectly for that number. Aside from the initial contracting and the month leading up to the wedding, we did not have much communication with Brodie Homestead. They were open to it, but we had a lot of vendors to work with and this was an easy one to put on autopilot. Our guests loved how beautiful the venue was and we are very happy we had our reception at Brodie. Make sure to take pictures out back by the trees - ours turned out beautifully. The only hard part is that everything has to be out of the venue on the evening of the event, which meant we had to rent a Uhaul because we had kegs, signage and all of our floral to remove. Just something to keep in mind when considering expenses. Reviewed on 10-07-2016
Jen Roncallo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-12-2015 I fell in love with this venue in pictures! I couldn't believe how amazing it was on our wedding day. The chandeliers were so beautiful and elegant! It was a great space four our 180 guests. Everyone at the Brodie was very accommodating and flexible. They really wanted to make my day exactly as I had envisioned it! Our reception pictures are gorgeous! Reviewed on 13-01-2016
Annette Buckley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-07-2015 We had our entire wedding at BH on 07/25/15. While I grew up in Austin, we had to plan from afar, because we live in SoCal. Here's why we chose it: near downtown Austin (our hotel was the Doubletree Suites), climate controlled (TX can have insane weather), lighting controlled (I didn't want to squint in photos), character galore (pretty much a cathedral-barn), and enough space for the ceremony and reception. We had 100 guests, and the space worked perfectly; it could have accommodated more, but the reception room never felt oversized/empty. Also the rooms upstairs easily accommodated our wedding parties. There were up to 10 women in my room at any moment, and it didn't feel too tight. It isn't a cheap place for a wedding, but then we saved on decor because it's a beautiful facility. Samantha Meador(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2015 When my (at the time) fiance and I picked a wedding date, we had no idea how popular October weddings are in Texas! We thought 6 months to plan a wedding was just right, but then it quickly turned into a frantic search for a venue that wasn't already taken on our date. Luckily, I found the Brodie Homestead through the Allan House. (Same owners.) At first I wasn't sure, because even though the pictures of the interior were lovely, it was over what we had in mind in terms of budget. However, it had so many pros that we started to really consider it. (Indoors with air-conditioning!) And when my mother saw it and loved it too, it was a done deal. I was so excited because it really was the type of venue I had in mind.\r\rThe staff was easy to talk with and I communicated mostly via e-mail. They were usually pretty quick to respond. By the time of my pre-event walk-through, I was mostly in communication with Marissa. She was fun and answered all of my questions. \r\rIt used to be an old working horse barn. The exterior still holds that old charm, but the interior is amazing. It smells of wood when you walk in, and then you see the enormous space with high ceilings and wood beams, and a stone wall at the far end. And you'll be dazzled by the huge chandeliers. It made for the best mood lighting during our reception. And they can be turned up really bright if needed. \r\rWe had the room flipped from ceremony to reception, and while that happened, they had a curtain they closed that cuts the space in half. One side was cocktail hour while the other side flipped to reception. It had space for everything - the tables, buffet, DJ, cake table, gift table, cocktail tables, bar... you name it. And upstairs are two small rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in, each with their own bathroom. \r\rIt was stunning once everything was in place - the flowers, tables, the lighting, etc. We couldn't have found a more perfect place to get married! Bonny Su(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-01-2015 I found Brodie Homestead about a year ago when it was still under construction about to be converted from a barn to a beautiful venue. I always wanted a rustic elegant wedding, but wanted my wedding to be in the city, and not too far away in Dripping Springs where there are plenty of barn wedding venues. When my husband and I found Brodie - it was everything we had been looking for. Although it was still under construction, I could tell from talking to Juliana and her vision, that it would be the perfect balance of rustic meets elegant AND it was only about a 15 minute drive from downtown. When construction was finally done about 5 months before my wedding, I was truly amazed at how beautiful the barn looked. \r\rBut in all honesty, it was not until my actual wedding day that I realized how incredibly beautiful Brodie was. I had my reception at Brodie almost a month ago and it was seriously the most romantically beautiful venue ever. The ginormous chandeliers and tall, wooden gambrel roof ceilings, combined with our gold and blush color scheme, amber uplighting, and candles everywhere, created the most perfect ambience. I remember walking into Brodie that night and just being in awe of how gorgeous everything looked. And I definitely was not the only one -- throughout the night and even till this day, my guests (and people who just saw pictures through our Facebook) still compliment me on how gorgeous the venue was - esp. the chandeliers. Since the wedding, I have been told numerous times that Brodie was the most beautiful wedding venue they've ever been to. And I definitely agree.\r\rI have to admit, I was a bit worried that the location of the barn right next to a shopping strip would detract from the wedding, but it didn't at all! The inside of the barn and ambience it creates is so stunning that you truly get lost in it and forget about all the surrounding restaurants and shops. The only downside to this venue is that parking is extremely limited. We had about 220 guests and had to tell our guests to park at the Toney Burger Stadium parking lot (about 7 minutes away) and rent a shuttle bus to bring guests to Brodie.\r\rMy wedding day was the most romantic, magical and perfect day for my husband, me and all our guests and I could not have imagined a more beautiful venue to have our reception at than Brodie Homestead. I have been the Director of Events for our two sister properties, The Allan House and Brodie Homestead, since 2012. I was a part of the restoration process of the barn on Brodie Lane and helped to open Brodie Homestead in Fall of 2014 as an event venue. I have overseen hundreds of weddings and events between the two venues, and love seeing the fresh ideas clients come up with for their events! I love meeting with couples to discuss their vision + watching their ideas come to life on the day of their wedding.
