Broussard's Restaurant & Courtyard is a wedding venue located in New Orleans, LA. Set apart by its elegant French-infused rooms and romantic courtyards, this historic venue has a long and award-winning history in the vibrant French Quarter.
Surrounded by famous music venues and the neon lights of Bourbon Street, Broussard's Restaurant & Courtyard has the heart of New Orleans at its doorstep. The estate was built in 1834 and passed down from family to family, surviving the civil war and prohibition. In a story beginning with love, the Broussard's Restaurant was opened in 1920 by newlyweds Joseph Broussard and Rosalie Borrello. At the time, their restaurant was rumored to have entertained thirsty patrons during prohibition and hidden its bottled contraband within the fireplace.
Locals and tourists alike have spent the last hundred years savoring its classic French-Creole dishes and Southern hospitality. Now in the capable hands of the Ammari family, its legacy remains a great source of pride. Couples can exchange their vows in one of the venue's two charming courtyards before a candlelit evening of celebration and inspired cuisine. For an intimate or large gathering, the venue's three rooms, Napoleon, Magnolia, and Josephine, can accommodate up to 150 guests. For a more extravagant affair, the venue can hold up to 650 guests when booked alongside the Hermann-Grima Museum.
This accomplished team understands how much detail goes into planning the wedding of your dreams, from selecting the ideal space for your ceremony and reception to curating the perfect dinner menu. Chef Jimi Setchim and his culinary team pay tribute to the city's thriving food culture by featuring distinctly New Orleans flavors–coffee, spice, rice, pecans, and citrus. Inspired by the local fare of a grande dame restaurant, your guests will cherish forever the beautiful memories made at Broussard's Restaurant & Courtyard.

Alison Daughtry(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2019 We live in Atlanta and New Orleans is our favorite city to visit. So we chose to have our wedding in Nola to show our family and friends why we love it so much. After getting engaged, we set off for a weekend trip to New Orleans to tour several venues that we booked appointments with. After seeing the venues we had planned and not finding anything that fit, we popped into Broussard's on a whim. We were greeted by Danielly, the manager, and told her we were engaged and looking for a venue, so she asked if we'd like a tour. We didn't want to bother her since we hadn't made an appointment, but she insisted and was so excited for us to see everything. She showed us the courtyard of the Hermann-Grima House, which is right next store and where they normally hold wedding ceremonies, as well as the courtyard and inside spaces available at Broussard's for the reception. Both courtyards were beautiful and we especially liked the Magnolia Room at Broussard's with its exposed brick walls, wooden ceiling beams and fireplace. After seeing the spaces and feeling so welcomed by Danielly, we knew that it was the place for us!Danielly put us in touch with Courtney, who we worked with over the next year on the details leading up to our wedding date. Courtney was very quick to respond to our many questions and was awesome to work with as we were planning everything out.We initially thought that Broussard's would be out of our price range, but when we started adding up all of the services that they were providing that we'd otherwise have to contract out separately at other venues (catering, bar, servers, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, etc.), it wasn't that far out of range. We read other reviews that stated that their delicious food and the level of exceptional service is what set them apart from other venues. They were right!Everything was absolutely amazing for our wedding ceremony and reception. The beautiful setting, the fabulous food and drinks, the top-notch service...it was fantastic! Our wedding guests continue to rave about how great the food was and what a beautiful space it is. This is exactly what we were shooting for in providing our guests with a classic New Orleans experience. The servers were so friendly (shout out to Sara & Nike). All of them took great care of us and our guests and even contributed to the fun vibe of the evening when some of them joined us on the dance floor. We stayed in town for a few days after the wedding to relax and decompress. We stopped into Broussard's during happy hour early one night and had a couple of cocktails in the courtyard just so we could reminisce and reflect on how beautiful the space is and how wonderful everything was for our special day. Thanks so much to Courtney, Danielly and the Broussard's staff for making our wedding day an amazing event that we'll cherish for a lifetime. Reviewed on 18-10-2019

We're from NYC and knew that we wanted to get married in NOLA, and after seeing a handful of venues that weren't quite right on a 'scouting trip' to NOLA one weekend last year, as soon as we saw the courtyard at Broussard's, we knew we had found our venue (and the courtyard space for the ceremony at Hermann-Grima couldn't be more beautiful, either!). We originally worked with Elizabeth Lauer, who was lovely, but after she left the company we worked with Courtney Shinn as our venue coordinator, who was amazing! She worked seamlessly with our wedding planner (Taylor Quintini), and was available to answer any questions we had about vendors, floor plans, timing, etc. She was flexible with changes that we wanted to make to the menu/bar packages, and was very accommodating to a few allergies that we needed to be aware of. Courtney was also great during our rehearsal and the wedding itself - she's incredibly positive and just has a great, relaxed vibe about her; very helpful on a wedding day! Also, the service staff at Broussard's was AMAZING. Multiple guests told us that one of their favorite things about our venue was watching the servers and bartenders dance (at their stations) to our DJ's music - they clearly seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs, and their energy added greatly to the amazing overall vibe of the night! Ana was our \"personal\" server for the night, and she was just the most fun - always at our side with a fresh drink (and water), she did the limbo on the dance floor, and we even tried to get her to come to our after party! Last but most certainly not least - THE FOOD. I cannot count how many of our guests told us that this was the best food they have ever had at a wedding (\"or ever,\" from some!), hands-down. Each station was better than the next, and people were absolutely raving about the quality of the food the next day. And it was replenished until the end of the night - even the raw bar! I never had any reservations that it would not be what I envisioned but I wasn't sure what to fully expect, planning this wedding myself with no planner was as I mentioned a bit nerve racking. All the details and specifics can become overwhelming. I really just thought Elizabeth was there to finalize our menus and to follow our contract. Well, to my delight, Elizabeth was truly my wedding planner for EVERYTHING beyond just the food and drinks! When we went to the rehearsal, she greeted me with a huge smile and was obviously very organized. She said \"Yes\" to all of my requests or suggestions. I don't think \"No\" is even in her vocabulary. That makes for a happy bride. She kept all of our belongings organized, and set up both the ceremony and reception to perfection. I trusted her judgement and she went above and beyond to bring that wow factor to our event, adding candles and lanterns galore and ensuring that every detail was done right. All bonuses and things that she didn't have to do for us. Every request was met...from a bridesmaid needing a safety pin, to ensuring my mom got to eat while watching our son, to bustling my dress, to making sure we ate and had special drinks in hand, to organizing the flow of all the vendors involved, just to name a few. She did so much, even my guests were raving about her helpfulness and how nice she was. Elizabeth truly went above and beyond her job expectations and I could genuinely tell she loves what she does. Broussard's is lucky to have her on staff. I can not thank her enough for making our wedding more than perfect. When I say it was PERFECT, I mean it. There was not one thing I would change and I couldn't imagine saying the same if it wasn't for us selecting Brossard's and having Elizabeth as our planner. The food was UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING but that will be for my next review! Thank you so much to Elizabeth. I will never forget the love and support she showed me and my family on the most special day of our lives. Happily ever after, indeed! Reviewed on 30-11-2016
Shannon McAleb(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2016 Wow, wow, wow, wow! I cannot say enough good things about Broussard's. We had our wedding in the courtyard and Magnolia Room in October 2016. We're an out of town couple and Broussard's was our dream venue. Our day of coordinator, Elizabeth Lauer, was far and away the best vendor we worked with (and we worked with a lot of fantastic vendors). She went above and beyond for us, making sure every single detail was perfect. She stayed in communication with us throughout the process, double checking our menus and addendums to the original contract, making sure that everything we wanted was talked about and addressed. The day of, she was perfect. She ran interference and made sure the schedule was more or less kept. She made sure we had food and a minute to eat, that we always had a drink in our hands, and that the day was perfect. She and the Broussard's staff are really gold stars. They are lovely, warm, welcoming people who just want you to have the perfect day. Their attention to detail was OUTSTANDING. The food was impeccable. The drinks were delicious. I could go on. Thank you Broussard's for making our day PERFECT. Reviewed on 08-11-2016
Kristin Popham(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-03-2016 We had our reception at Broussard's and it could not have been more perfect. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful all lit up at night and has the perfect French Quarter feel. Stephanie, the coordinator, is so helpful and friendly. Planning a wedding can be so overwhelming, but she always made us feel like we were on track, offered suggestions and was easy to get in touch with. She even went above and beyond, helping my MOH conceal her new pregnancy by making sure she always had non-alcoholic drinks in hand until she was ready to announce it after the wedding was over. Of course, the food was amazing -- our guests are STILL talking about it! We had our ceremony in the connected Hermann-Grima House's courtyard, which is also beautiful and didn't need a whole lot of flowers or decorations with all the greenery in bloom. With most of our guests being from out of town, the venue is in easy walking distance from the downtown hotels and saved us the headache of organizing transportation. Broussard's was exactly what I envisioned when we decided we wanted to get married in a New Orleans courtyard -- elegant without being stuffy, and a perfect mix of indoor and outdoor space. We are so glad we decided on Broussard's! Reviewed on 04-07-2016
Jessica Williams(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2016 We live in NYC and were nervous about finding the right venue for our April destination wedding in New Orleans--but Broussard's absolutely delivered. Our ceremony and reception were both held in the courtyard (our food was in the Magnolia Room), and everything was completely seamless (even the transition between the ceremony and reception). Stephanie took great care of us (and our families) and kept the wedding on schedule. As for the space itself, every guest commented on the beauty of the courtyard in spring. I believe \"magical\" was the word most used. We were fortunate and the weather was beautiful so we didn't use any sort of tents (even for our 8-piece band). My husband and I never write reviews but relied on them while planning our destination wedding, so we wanted to return the favor by highly recommending Broussard's. Thank you for everything, Stephanie and the team at Broussard's! We could not be happier! Reviewed on 09-05-2016
Caitlin Harwood(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-04-2016 Everything was beautiful, great ceremony area in the Hermann-Grima courtyard with reception in Broussard's courtyard and Magnolia room. Stephanie worked with me throughout everything and was very responsive. Food was EXCELLENT! They kept us on track as well, with so much going on it's hard to remember you have certain markers in the day - cake cutting, etc. My dj also went MIA days before the wedding and she helped us get a new one the afternoon before the wedding. Worked great with all our vendors as well and helped my family easily pick up our things the next day when we had already left for our honeymoon. It really is a picture perfect New Orleans courtyard setting. Reviewed on 11-04-2016

Molly McKinney(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-05-2014 We were a destination couple having both our ceremony and reception in the courtyard at Broussard's. Throughout the entire process, Caroline was a dream to work with. She was professional, nice and prompt (despite going through major renovations and being long-distance)and she made us feel completely at ease the entire way. Her assistant Christina is also lovely and wonderful to work with. \r\rFrom the taste testing to the rehearsal to the day-of, Caroline, Christina and the entire crew at Broussard's made us feel like the most important people in the place. Every single guest who came couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the restaurant is, the courtyard in particular and also how wonderful all of the food and drinks were. The chef was kind enough to honor the menu we had chosen prior to him being hired and it was sensational (and so are all of the current dishes on their menu!) People said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever been too - and we hardly decorated at all! \r\rWe can't say enough good things about this place and the people who work here. Laura Verboon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-11-2011 I chose Broussards for our wedding venue because their courtyard is beautiful! I will say that the event coordinator was difficult to reach at times, but I think that is the story for a lot of New Orleans vendors. I'm from Houston, and am not used to their laid back lifestyle maybe.\r\rWe chose to have both our wedding and reception in the courtyard, and I was worried about the transition of the chairs while my guests waited, but my bridesmaids were only needed for a couple of pictures and said that it was done in minutes and everyone was mingling and having a good time by the time they went back in.\r\rI was also worried that it would be too crowded for 100 guests and a dance floor. The manager assured me that it would not be, so I got the extra room. I am happy that I did that, but if you were nervous about that, I don't think it was necessary. It was nice to have, as some of my guests were older, or had babies and liked the quieter, warmer space.\r\rThere was a $12,000 minimum for the courtyard plus the smaller interior room, plus tax and tip , but this covered food and alcohol and the ceremony fee, so the bulk of your reception. The food was excellent! Broussards boxed up a serving for both my husband and me. They also sent us home with our cake top, and a bottle of wine with the broussards label.\r\rA couple of things I wish I had done was gotten some extra lighting, since it was cloudy that night. We didn't get any, since we figured that Broussards seats people in the courtyard at night. I just wish we'd had a little bit more...but it was beautiful anyway.\r\rAlso, one con-I heard after the wedding that the bartender asked one of my guests why they weren't tipping. Now I've tipped at weddings before, but they didn't have a jar out, so I can see why the guests weren't thinking of it. But I was annoyed that they'd asked, since I'd tipped anyway.\r\rOther than that, Broussards was perfect and I would recommend it to anyone! Reviewed on 29-11-2011
Kelly Monaghan(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2011 Service the day of the wedding was fantastic. Getting to that point was a bit of a challenge. Their event coordinator was very disorganized, a bit rude, and difficult to work with. The actual event went perfectly and the food was delicious. They would do themselves a huge favor to hire a different event coordinator though. Reviewed on 21-11-2011
Leah Erickson(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2011 If you're looking for a beautiful courtyard, Broussard's has you covered. If you're looking for impecible service and attention to detail, look some where else. I was told consistently by Broussard's events coordinator, Sheryl, that everything would be wonderful for my wedding. In fact, however, things were far from bare-bones acceptable. For instance, my \"vegetarian\" dish had pork in it, and my \"vegan-friendly\" salad was made with a creamy dressing. I had a lot of vegetarian guests that I had to pay $65/person so they could eat NOTHING! On top of it, when I pointed the fact out to the \"events coordinator\" and asked for creative options, I got told \"if I would've know, I would've planned for it\" Which was amazing to me since I have emails showing that they did know because I told them a plated dinner would not suffice due to the dietary restrictions of my guests, including vegetarians, vegans, non-pork eaters, non-cheese eater, and non-seafood eaters. Additinally, Broussard's is a restaurant!?!Couldn't you make something for my guests to eat? Even offer to make something and say it was going to cost more. At least then I wouldn't be worried about my guests passing out from starvation. \rMy other big concern was that communication with the \"events coordinator\" was basically nonexistent. If you like to know what's going with your weddind in advance, do not go to Broussard's. I did not know the cost of the wedding until a week and a half before the event. I got the impression she thought we were going to be cheap. When in reality, I could've spent 2x the amount I spent, but just didn't get any personal attention from the Restaurant to justify additional expenditures. I was thinking of canceling and forfeiting our deposit a week before the wedding, but my now husband convinced me otherwise. Now, I wish I had...oh-well.\rGood luck if you pick Broussard's. I hope you get better attention then we did. Reviewed on 31-10-2011
Sally Lawson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2011 I had my ceremony and reception at Broussard's in the French Quarter just a few weeks ago. The ceremony in their courtyard was exactly what I envisioned when we planned a destination wedding for New Orleans. After the ceremony, we had cocktail hour in the Courtyard, ate dinner in one of the 3 private rooms available and went back out into the courtyard for cake cutting and dancing. Sheryl, the coordinator I worked with answered all of my questions and worked within my budget. Everything went exactly as planned and all of my guests complimented us on the food over and over. When it comes to the classic, historic French Quarter wedding experience, look no further than Broussard’s Restaurant. Built in 1834, our property has a charm that cannot be recreated. Brides have a choice of two courtyards to host their ceremony, followed by a reception in one of New Orleans' dining Grand Dames.
