For Your Fairytale Wedding
Buttercup Ranch and Creamery is a rustic wedding venue located in Millstadt, IL, less than 20 miles from St Louis, MO. This family-owned farm sits on multiple acres of lush land and serves as a naturally stunning backdrop for all sorts of events. Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a large, lavish reception, the team will work to make sure you have what you need for a fairytale celebration. This family farm is owned and operated by married duo Mary and Rich, who named the grounds after the first cow they bought together. Over the years, they've focused on sustainable agriculture to inspire healthy, natural eating and living. Buttercup Ranch and Creamery now welcomes couples to host their wedding and pre-wedding events. You're welcome to host your ceremony beside the tranquil lake, which is surrounded by mature woodlands and manicured lawns to provide a flourishing view. You and your partner will be welcome to stay overnight in the onsite RV near the lake, which features beds, a kitchenette, and air conditioning, for a relaxing stay. A micro-trailer is also available as a second get-ready space or accomodations. In addition, couples are welcome to enjoy various onsite activities, including canoeing, fishing, and farm tours, before and after your big day. Buttercup Ranch and Creamery is open to host weddings from March to November. A sound system, log seating, and portable toilets are some of the many services they offer in their wedding packages for a seamless celebration. An event tent is also available onsite, where the team will set up and tear down tables and chairs for a seamless transition from ceremony to reception. Tent walls with windows and doors can be added to protect your event from rain or heat, while still affording an amazing view. Special details abound, like Chiavari chairs, a rustic hickory swing to take romantic photos, and an oak bridge leading to an island in the lake where you can say "I Do!" Oak benches with plenty of seating on the shore help your guests watch the ceremony in comfort. Coming March 2024: A majestic geyser fountain in the lake! Light up the beautiful display with lights in your wedding colors. Grand Opening on March 30, 2024, where we will unveil the fountain, a new concept we call the "Wedding Village," and our new name, Hidden Waters, as well as lots of vendors and prizes, and you can see everything up and running.

When we're not in our muck boots at the farm, we sometimes dress up (like in our photo!). We love learning how to do things for ourselves, and then sharing that knowledge with others. That's why we have a farm with beef and milk cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, two Pyrenees dogs, and a pair of peafowl! Our six kids (who are all grown and gone but sometimes come back and help) all learned to milk a cow by hand, and care for farm animals. We feel blessed to have our beautiful farm and are happy to share it as a wedding and event venue.
