Cairnwood Estate is a stately mansion wedding venue located in Bryn Athyn, PA. John Pitcairn, a turn-of-the-century glass entrepreneur, built the expansive property in 1895 as a home for his family. Today, the team behind the illustrious estate welcomes couples celebrating milestone moments to become a part of its enduring history. Reminiscent of a French chateau, Cairnwood Estate offers a romantic setting for special occasions. Here, you can enjoy the charms of European elegance in the heart of Pennsylvania. The home's distinguished architecture, flowering gardens, and expansive lawns provide a distinctive backdrop that's sure to impress. When hosting your momentous occasion at this property, you can benefit from endless indoor and outdoor celebration possibilities. If you're dreaming of a classic, indoor event, you and your beloved can choose between six historic rooms. Your selection includes the great hall, the living room, the library, the music room, the dining room, and the billiard room. Alternatively, happily-ever-after events can also be hosted outdoors. The venue's lawn can be set up with a clear or white-top tent, depending on your preferences, for a memorable open-air occasion. For the convenience of those attending your wedding, complimentary parking will be available. Cairnwood Estate can comfortably accommodate guest lists of 250 people or fewer. The venue's experienced team has thoughtfully designed a reception package for engaged couples to consider when organizing their special days. With it, you will have access to your chosen event space for five hours. Additional hours, up until midnight, are available upon request. What's more, the estate's team had created a list of recommended caterers to further simplify the planning process.

THE most beautiful venue in the world. You cannot convince me otherwise. The staff is SOOOO nice & easy to work with. We were BLESSED to have our wedding here. I recommend weddings here in the spring / summer / fall when the terrace is available because it is GORGEOUS!!! But even winter weddings here are inside the mansion, which is also breath taking. So happy with how it turned out.

Cairnwood Estate is truly spectacular. If you are looking for fancy, classic, even royal vibes then this place is for you. It is a very memorable venue with a good combination of outdoor and indoor areas. It takes about 45 minutes to get here from Center City Philadelphia which was great for many of our guests. The women that coordinate the events, Krissy and Nina, were extremely responsive and very helpful throughout the entire year I was planning our wedding. Cairnwood provides an extremely valuable list of recommended vendors which helped us to have the most perfect day with vendors that knew the property well. Like all venues, there were a couple downsides that one should take into consideration before booking. The biggest by far is that Cairnwood is a reception only venue which means that you'll need to find another nearby venue with your date open and coordinate all the things that go along with having two separate venues. We were unable to get married at the cathedral on property and we were told that the cathedral hosts only a few non-parishioner weddings per year. Another thing to consider, though not a huge deal, is that the venue is in a very residential town so there are no amenities nearby. The closest large hotel is at least 20 minutes away by car. Something else to consider is that Cairnwood requires you to choose from a very short list of their caterers. The food and service were excellent, don't get me wrong, but it should come as no surprise that their partner caterers are about as expensive as wedding food gets so there will be no saving money in this area if you book here. Overall, our wedding here was incredible and we know that our guests will talk about this storybook venue for years to come. We ended up spending a very significant amount of money on this wedding, which to us was well worth it, but buyer beware that you will be spending well over 50k on your wedding day if your reception is at Cairnwood.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Cairnwood in August of 2022 and it was incredible! The venue has such an old world charm and dreamy, romantic atmosphere that it stood out to us amongst other venues we viewed! Months later, guests are still talking about how gorgeous our venue and wedding were. :) Everyone we worked with at Cairnwood was really nice and friendly, Laird (who gave us our initial tour) and Krissy (who we dealt with throughout the planning process) were great to work with. Krissy was always very responsive to our emails and willing to jump on a call to discuss any planning questions we had. Cairnwood also has 3 preferred caterers from which you can choose from, we can only speak for Sage, as that's who we went with, but they were amazing. The food was great and the staff was very familiar and comfortable with the venue which all led to a very smooth reception. We found Cairnwood estate to be a great location for our wedding reception! It was a little pricey once you piece it all together but felt very worth the cost, as the photos turned out beautiful, the venue coordinators were flexible, and planning went smoothly! We are looking forward to return to Cairnwood for one of their seasonal events. :)

The most stunning, unique, historic venue. This is not your typical wedding banquet hall. Cairnwood has so much original character and charm that you almost don't even need decor because you don't want to distract too much from the incredible architecture and gorgeous surroundings. The team was so kind and helpful as well, everyone we worked with were true professionals. I hope to be able to attend another event at Cairnwood in the future!

I got married May 21st 2022. Wow what a dreamy venue! I knew I wanted a European, romantic/chic venue and this venue has it all! It is the most beautiful venue and grounds I have ever seen! They really helped me bring my wedding vision to life. The staff are so nice and super responsive to e-mails and phone calls and can help you with a variety of things like picking other vendors etc!They helped me organize everything amazingly. They even let me come see the venue a few times so I could get ideas, practice my first dance etc! They let you drop off the week of the wedding for your alcohol, decor etc. The only thing I would say to [plan ahead for is your ceremony, as they don't allow ceremonies at the venue, it's just for receptions. There is a cathedral next door, but sometimes they are booked for other ceremonies on the day you may want to have your reception. I did run into that issue where the day we booked for our reception, the cathedral next door was not available for a ceremony which was a bummer because it's beautiful and right next door. The Cairnwood girls did send me a list of other locations that could perform the ceremony but they were all booked sadly, I think mainly because everyone had moved their wedding due to covid. so I had to have the ceremony at The Arts Ballroom in Philly, which is beautiful but further away than I would have liked but its all that was available. Also be aware, that you are not allowed to get photographs with the cathedral in the background. Overall, I 100% would recommend this venue and wish I could re-live my wedding night again! It's such a unique venue and so beautiful for photos. My guests talked so much about how they felt they were in a castle and somewhere other than the USA! So grateful we picked this venue for our reception!

Having our wedding at Cairnwood was magical! The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. They worked with us to create the wedding of our dreams. The team had great communication, which made the day seamless. The facilities were clean. We got married around Christmas time the decor was exquisite. The catering team we used was Sage, and they worked closing with Carinwood. Hands down, Cairnwood is the best wedding venue, especially around Christmas time.

The catering team we used was Sage, and they worked closing with Carinwood. Hands down, Cairnwood is the best wedding venue, especially around Christmas time.

We loved having our wedding reception at Cairnwood. The venue is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our guests could not stop raving about how wonderful the space was. Also, lots of vendors in the area (florists, DJs, etc.) are familiar with working there so that took a lot of stress away, and their preferred caterers are also very good. We used Karen Spire Catering and the food was delicious!

We are so happy to have had our reception at Cairnwood Estate! We knew within the first 5 minutes of our tour that we wanted Cairnwood to be our reception venue. We had toured probably 15 other venues in the area, but none of them took our breaths away the way Cairnwood did. The staff at Cainwood were a pleasure to work with and we were so happy with how smooth the planning was leading up to our wedding, and our wedding day itself! We canât recommend Cairnwood enough!

We thought it very sentimental to have our reception at the same venue where we met. After sharing this story with the Cairnwood staff, they did everything to make sure the day went off without a hitch. We can't stress enough our gratitude for Everything that the staff did for us! It all feels like an amazing dream now. Cairnwood is just an incredibly special place with a very special staff. Not only is it beautiful in every way, but the staff are so nice and helpful and genuinely kind. It was a pleasure to work with them and they helped take a lot of stress away. Not having a wedding planner I was unsure as to how things would come together on our wedding day and when I saw everything for the first time I was floored. It was even more stunning than I ever imagined. Everything felt like a fairytale. I hope I have an opportunity to host another event here in the future. Thank you Cairnwood!!

Cairnwood Estate is a dream come true venue to have your wedding. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is amazing. Cairnwood is memorable and unique, providing a beautiful terrace with a tent and the inside house for your wedding. Its absolutely gorgeous. I worked mainly with Shannon from Cairnwood and she is organized, kind and becomes apart of the family. She has helped me organize my wedding at Cairnwood for practically 3 years after having to postpone due to Covid and she is outstanding. Cairnwood was the venue of our dreams!!! The venue itself is stunning. Every inch of the Cairnwood Estate is photo-worthy, both inside and out on the grounds. The layout of the mansion lends itself to a unique wedding day with an intimate but elegant feel. The set-up of the bride and groom dressing rooms made for a memorable and comfortable morning. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour, mingling out in the garden and wandering through the different rooms of the house. Dinner on the back patio was lovely, with romantic views of the cathedral and mansion. We ended the night with dancing in the great hall. Truly spectacular-- we felt whisked away to a different time!In addition to the beautiful details of the estate, Cairnwood's approach to the wedding day allows for customization based on your preferences and budget. It's more of a \"build-it-yourself\" wedding venue, in that you bring in your own vendors. This means more planning but also more personalization. The staff were very helpful in offering suggestions and guidance throughout the wedding planning process. We felt they were truly invested in helping us achieve our specific vision.We loved Cairnwood so much that we now attend other events throughout the year (Christmas Tea, Valentine's Day) to reminisce on our special day. Cairnwood is an amazing venue to be at for your wedding day! My mom planned a lot of my wedding and was always able to reach someone quickly and get any questions she needed answered. We honestly looked at this venue first did a tour and the next day knew we wanted to get married at cairnwood. We did a November wedding and it was amazing! One of the things we liked originally was that we were planning on having 50 people which Cairnwood has no minimum required number of guests so it would have been fine. We ended up have 80 people and it didnât feel empty at all! Everything was set up perfectly! They pay attention to detail and we had someone with us the entire day to ensure it ran smoothly! I would do the wedding all over again at Cairnwood!

Beautiful, breath-taking venue, loved the decor and festivity of the venue during the holiday season, unique setting for a wedding celebration. The grounds are impeccable, well lit up outside the mansion -- looks gorgeous in pictures and as guests arrive at Cairnwood! We loved the tent, well lit with the 3 chandeliers, while providing a nice dinner atmosphere. The grand staircase allows for awesome entrance for the bride & groom. The great lobby is an amazing spot for your first dance. The entire venue provides beautiful backdrops for your photos - at any time of year! Clean restrooms (very important). Plenty of restrooms for guests to use between upstairs and downstairs (170 guests). Beautiful bridal suite. Guests loved walking/looking around all of the different rooms and upstairs. We made use of most of the rooms of the estate which was great! Karen Spire Catering provided delicious food - guests loved the meal and apps! The service at both Cairnwood Estate & Karen Spire Catering is wonderful, very courteous and easy to work with! They made the venue booking process easy and were able to accommodate & answer all of our questions throughout the process! I would absolutely recommend Cairnwood Estate to anyone, at any time of year!

I love how Cairnwood let us bring in our own decorations - we put pictures of us all over the house including on mantles, bookshelves, tables etc. It allowed a personal intimate feeling to the space. I cannot recommend Cairnwood enough! We also LOVED our caterer Karen Spire whom Cairnwood recommended. More glowing reviews on her on her own page!! The venue is breathtaking, we visited it many times during open houses and it has such an elegant and homey feel like you are inviting your guests into your own home for an event. I loved that. Cairnwood is absolutely stunning. We held our wedding there for 260 guests in October and had the most amazing experience throughout the entire process. We had our ceremony at a Catholic church then traveled to Cairnwood for our reception. For that many guests we went with the tented terrace for dinner and were so glad we did. It was absolutely gorgeous. Guests were able to eat dinner under the stars with the clear tent. Cairnwood is such a unique venue- it's reminded us so much of Downtown Abbey with its multiple rooms. Guests could not stop raving about it! We have nothing but good things to say about the venue- it really is worth every penny for an amazing wedding experience.

Cairnwood is a beautiful venue fit for a fairy tale wedding. I was married in June and the grounds were phenomenal. My wedding day was absolutely perfect and as we look back on photos from our special day every photo highlights the beauty of the estate.There were only a few issues, the price to just rent the estate is hefty and only includes the estate (no chairs). The tent and lighting (string lights outside, etc) are very expensive additions. We opted not to go with the tent and eat indoors.Also, I had a wonderful experience working with Shannon, we booked our wedding with her. However, a few months after booking my in-laws wanted to see the estate, I called mid-week to schedule and appointment, the woman I spoke with said it would be fine for us to walk through and that there would be someone to help us if needed and that she would note that we would be visiting. When we arrived they were surprised that we were there, we felt rushed out of there. I understand there are so many brides who are getting married at Cairnwood and brides planning to get married but they seemed very snooty that day, and left a bad taste in my mouth. --I must add that this is was the only negative experience I had with Cairnwood's staff and that this could have been a fluke, I just wanted to make the point that whether it was lack of communication or a mistake we were unhappy with my in-laws first impression of our venue.Lastly the estate is stunning, however my father was upset that he noticed a stain on an area rug months before and that same stain was on the rug for my wedding. I didn't notice it, but he did and for the price you pay to rent he wasn't thrilled at the idea of having a stained rug.Overall our wedding was the best day ever, guest still talk about how stunning our venue was, this place is truly a gem. I highly recommend this venue, another perk is that there are quite a few local vendors that do an outstanding job, and its a bonus that they are all nearby.

Absolutely beautiful! I fell in love with it the second I pulled onto the property. It's elegant and unique. My husband and I live in the UK and it reminded me of an English manor house (he didn't get to see it in person before we booked). Cairnwood was so accommodating to our circumstances and we were able to discuss all of our questions via email, and my parents (local to the area) visited again to meet with caterers. It's great that they have the open house Wednesdays - we visited on several occasions and everyone we met was very friendly. The layout of the venue is different than any wedding I've attended before since there are 3 separate dining rooms, but everything flowed so well and that's part of what I loved about the place. We were able to book a date within a year of our engagement and everything fell into place after that. They also offer pre-hours so you can get ready and have your photos done prior to your reception - worked wonderfully! One difficulty was that we had to arrange for our own alcohol to be transported to the venue prior to the event (and had to figure out how much we needed), but Cairnwood provides a list of vendors that can assist you with this. We HIGHLY recommend Cairnwood if you are looking for a magical experience. My one regret is not spending enough time on the balcony area during cocktail hour so make sure you take advantage!

Where do I start...Cairnwood made all of my wedding dreams come true. I got married in December and the venue was almost fully decorated with NO additional cost. The venue itself is breathtaking and like no other venue I had seen. I wanted unique and that is exactly what I got. The staff was very accommodating and allowed my bridal party to get ready in the suite all day. There is honestly not one thing I would change about my wedding day and I owe it all to Cairnwood.

The mansion perfectly aligned with my vision of a elegant/\"Grace Kelly\" evening and the staff and our vendors did not disappoint! We comfortably hosted approx. 150 guests for an outdoor ceremony, side garden cocktail hour, dinner on tented back patio and dancing inside the estate. We had rave reviews from our guests about how they never wanted to leave. Highly, highly recommend for brides considering a Philly wedding!

The decor for Christmas (we were married in December) was spectacular - we hardly had to bring in any decorations ourselves! It was awesome to see the reactions of our guests as they toured the different rooms, toasted in the Great Hall, and danced the night away in the library. We lucked out with the weather and were able to use the beautiful terrace throughout the evening. The bridal and groomsmen suites were the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready as well as to enjoy some drinks throughout the night. It was truly a magical night and would recommend Cairnwood to anyone!

It was if we were marrying in our own home - as if we were royalty! We each had our own elegant suites to get ready in, with antique furniture and framed photos of the Pitcairn family adorning the walls, romantically taking us back to the Gilded Age. The staff was superb - director Shannon herself is a highly organized, gregarious ball of energy who will go above and beyond to ensure every detail is perfect for your big day. The sculpted, lush grounds and castle-inspired architecture of the mansion provided the perfect backdrop for our formal photos. What was most special was the intimate setting of the Great Hall where our ceremony took place. There I married my prince and we are living happily ever after!

Our daughter's wedding at Cairnwood was magnificent. The setting was fairy-tale beautiful. The staff was wonderful. They handled everything beautifully, and were both responsive and proactive to make sure we didn't miss a detail and that everything went perfectly. It was really fun utilizing the various beautiful rooms for cocktails, drinks and dancing. Dining in the beautiful tent with twinkling lights and the sky above us was glorious. The guests loved wandering through the many beautiful rooms. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was perfect!

Cairnwood Estate was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception! The mansion, neighboring museum, and grounds are absolutely gorgeous and allowed us to achieve the vibe we were going for of elegant yet inviting.Not only is the space wonderful--the employees are as well. Everyone we met with made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure that we were getting the wedding of our dreams. All in all it made for the best wedding I could've ever hoped for!

Cairnwood Estate was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception! The mansion, neighboring museum, and grounds are absolutely gorgeous and allowed us to achieve the vibe we were going for of elegant yet inviting.Not only is the space wonderful--the employees are as well. Everyone we met with made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure that we were getting the wedding of our dreams. All in all it made for the best wedding I could've ever hoped for!

I knew I wanted something different and out of the box for my wedding, and Cairnwood exceeded my expectations. There's just a magical feeling about the place (especially lit up at night) that stays with people. Our guests are still raving about it!\r\rI loved that it was not only elegant and beautiful, but there's so much for guests to see and take in while there. We chose to use all of the different rooms/areas to create a bigger experience, but you could do almost nothing to it and the venue will completely wow on its own. We also took advantage of pre-hours to take pictures in the bridal suite and around the venue- our photographers were in heaven. I was a little nervous about the price but after a perfect night and incredible pictures, I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else!

Cairnwood Estates is a beautiful place to have your reception. When we arrived, I fell in love with the place. It has a beautiful historical feel while being well kept and up to date. We went to visit on their open house night and it gave us a great insight into the flow of how our recepition would be. The staff was extremely helpful and nice throughout the entire planning process. We chose not to have the tent as we wanted the seperate dinning rooms. All of our Guests remarked how beautiful the place was and I can't wait to see pictures. The gentalmen who was there to help the night of our reception was helpful, kind, and was there if we needed anything. It was such an awesome feeling to have this beautiful manor for the evening! It made me feel like a princess. I would 100% recommend this venue especially if you are looking for a place with character and beauty.

The Cairnwood Estate was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue. It is romantic, elegant, timeless, and adds an indescribable luxurious feel to your wedding day. Almost as if you are a part of the Pitcairn family, it truly transforms into your own personal estate for the day. From aesthetics to functionality, to ambiance- it was the perfect venue for us and catered to our every desire. The staff was beyond helpful and polite throughout the entire planning process and tried their best to accommodate all of our requests. Although we had originally planned for a Saturday evening affair, our time frame and previous scheduling pushed us to book a Sunday in August. Even then our wedding was still perfect and we managed to save quite a bit by booking a Sunday. For brides considering a Sunday wedding at Cairnwood- we had not originally planned to have the back veranda tented, but due to a wedding the night before ours where the tent was in use- the tenting company allowed us to keep the tent up free of charge, which given the summer heat was a marvelous addition! (I think this was more a convenience to the company not having to come out first thing in the morning to remove the tent.) The separate dining spaces was also the perfect fit for our guests as we do not like the feel of a traditional ballroom. Instead of staying at their tables if they were not on the dance floor, our guests moved around the estate and the grounds as if it were our own home. We had croquet and other lawn games set up outside, and the veranda, gardens and library were all used as alternative places to mingle. Overall I highly recommend The Cairnwood Estate to anyone in search of a timeless and elegant wedding venue.

From that initial meeting my daughter and I agreed this was the place for her wedding. We we hosted by Melissa and then met the director Shannon. Both women were so helpful, and in no way rushed us into making a decision. They love their facility and it shows in how work with you. That night we met several of the food vendors and our first encounter was with Karen Spires and she ultimately was selected again, because of the way she presented herself being so helpful. \rGoing back to the Cairnwood facility many times was helpful for my daught and now husband to sort out exactly the setup she wanted and to do some things slightly different.\rI would say aside from the estate itself, we wanted an outdoor wedding and we choose a location taht had been setup for a wedding just inside the main entrance gate aloowing the backdrop to be the museum and the estate itself. Although never been tried beore at Cairnwood our new friends Melissa and Shannon wer so encouraging and helpful and at the end of the day it was spectacular. \rBeing from New Jersey, initially I did not want to go to PA to have this wedding for my daughter. However, not that the events are over, we have receieved so many incredible commnets about everything about the event, we knew we made not only the right choice but the best choice.\rThank you Cainwood, Thank you Shannon, Thank you Melissa.

We had our wedding at Cairnwood this past September and it was everything I dreamed! My husband and I only looked at 3 venues and when we saw Cairnwood we just knew we wanted it here so we booked it. The space is gorgeous both inside and outside. We had both the ceremony and reception here. We had the tent put up, in case in in climate weather, so we could have dinner on the terrace but it turned out we didn't need it because it was a beautiful day. The staff at Cairnwood, Shannon and Melissa, were great and helpful. It was really nice to have this beautiful french style mansion to myself on the biggest day of my life. If I could do it all over again I would in a heartbeat

That's what everyone called it, even guests who never talked to one another before or even at the event because they were only vaguely introduced the day of our wedding.\r\rI married September 21st. It was romantic. It was soft and beautiful, with a lovely garden and perfect entrance area for the ceremony, and gorgeous bathrooms (GORGEOUS bathrooms) and plenty of roaming space - and it's historical, not a \"wedding\" or \"conference\" spot in spite of its popularity and beauty. The staff and historic community surrounding the chateau jealously guard the site's integrity - in renovations and business. A good friend remarked that there were no mosquitoes. This place is classy.\r\rMelissa and Shannon were, of course, fantastic. They answered question after question, some of which I'm sure were repeated as both my Mom and I contacted the ladies during the planning process. They made us feel at ease at every visit - so of course we were comfortable the day of our event!\r\rOh and the pictures don't do it justice. Visit if just to tour the elegantly-bordered rooms, drink in the graceful arches of the opened second story at the hall, stroll the back terrace, and bask in the serenity of the garden and its lovely little fountain! I wax poetic - if you visit, you will, too!\r\rWe hardly decorated for our event, and I like frilly lacey things. Stylistically, I fit in perfectly at the hardly-decorated venue, and I wore a wedding dress with a tiered lace skirt, buttons, and lots of little details (very elegant and pouffy); I hope you can imagine how lovely the site is with that little tidbit. But really, go visit. \r\rThey also do community events. I plan to go to my first in a few weeks if I can make it! I've fallen in love. :)\r\rThanks, Shannon and Melissa! \r

Every girl dreams of feeling like a princess on her wedding day. What better way to feel like a princess than to get married in a venue that looks like a castle! I looked at so many venues and was ready to give up because nothing was how I envisoned it, until I saw Cairnwood. The venue is stunning. It is like nothing else you will ever see. At my wedding, people kept saying over and over how beautiful it was. Cairnwood has a huge WOW factor. The staff at Cairnwood is amazing!!! Literally everyone there is so nice, helpful, and accomodating. Melissa and Shannon were always available to answer any questions I had, give suggestions, and support me. Shannon always gave me her honest opinion on vendors and ideas, which I really appreciated. Melissa allowed me to call her and talk through my visons, questions, and concerns. They both spent so much time making sure my wedding was everything I dreamed of...and it was! I had the most magical wedding at Cairnwood. My vendors were perfect, the venue was spectacular, and my guests had so much fun! I can't think of a more amazing place to get married. I'm so glad I got married there and look forward to attending all of the Cairnwood events!

If you are looking for your wedding to stand out in people's memory and set the bar for other weddings, then tins is your location. \r\rWith access to the entire chateau and grounds on your wedding day, your guests will be in astonishment. The options of layout, event locations, and wedding 'feel, are endless with this venue. You certainly have the ability to make your wedding INDIVIDUAL! And the staff is amazing! They are not only extremely accessible they are 100 percent hands on I planning your wedding with you with regard to advice, options, ideas, etc. \r\rMy guests are still emailing me and texting me after other weddings letting me know there's no comparison. We loved our wedding at Cairnwood Estate. The pictures say it all - the venue is absolutely gorgeous and makes for a very romantic setting. The evening felt warm and comfortable, thanks to the venue - but most of all, it felt unique. Our guests really loved wandering around the various rooms and expansive grounds. It truly felt like the estate was ours for the day and our guests were at home.\r\rIt was very easy working with Shannon and Melissa prior to our wedding day, and during the event, Shannon was available on-site if anything was needed. We had nearly 200 guests seated for dinner on the tented patio, with stations set up in the rooms inside. Our ceremony was outside on the front terrace. It was a perfect setup for our size and needs. Just keep in mind the seasonal factors when budgeting for this location - we ended up needing a tent and heaters, which added to the cost of the venue.\r\rThe evening was a success & we highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a unique, memorable and loving wedding day!

If you are looking for a venue that is a little non-traditional Cairnwood is the place for you!! Cairnwood is a remarkable venue. It is not a location that many people know about but it is beautiful! When you book there you get to choose what caterer you want to work with out of a list of about 10. You do have to pay to rent the estate and it can be pretty pricey during prime wedding months but it is just as beautiful of a venue during the off months. We got married there in December :) the staff there is amazing as well, they are always happy and willing to help during any part of the wedding planning process! I would recommend this place to anyone!

We had a beautiful winter wedding at Cairnwood. Shannon and her staff were receptive and great to work with. The estate is well maintained and we loved spending our wedding day there. I loved this venue from the moment I attended another friend's wedding there. It is classic and beautiful and fit exactly the type of wedding I wanted to have. Regardless of the hefty site fee, I booked it because we loved it. There are a lot of additional costs that are in addition to the site fee including: chair rental, tent rental, on-site rehearsal, on-site ceremony cost, pre-hours and any after hours (site fee only covers a 4 hour time period). The staff were very nice, friendly and efficient. The only issue I had the day of the wedding had to do with where exactly we were allowed to take photos on the grounds. I was under the impression that we could use the full grounds as long as we did not go into the other buildings (Cathedral/Museum) but we were chased off the grounds around the Museum area.

As soon as my husband and I got engaged I started looking at venues on the knot. When I searched in my area, a picture of Cairnwood came up and I didn't think it was real! This place is where every little girl dreams of getting married! This was the 1st place we looked at. We went to go see it on a Wednesday, the day of their open house and fell in love immediately! It was out of our price range to get married there on a Saturday, so we got creative in trying to figure out how to make it work and decided to get married on the Wednesday before 4th of July! It was a fraction of the cost and is the same thing as getting married on a Friday because everyone has off the next day! We looked at a bunch of other venues, but nothing else really compared to how unique and beautiful Cairnwood is! All the staff there was AMAZING leading up to the wedding! Everyone was so nice and helpful! It was also extremely helpful that they had open houses every week because I could go there all the time (and I did!) and plan out things for the wedding and meet my other vendors there so they could see the place. It was just an amazing experience working with Cairnwood.\rOn the wedding day, everything was amazing. Cairnwood staff was great and my guests LOVED the place! It is just so different from your typical country club wedding venue. Everyone got to feel special coming there to have a party because this place looks like a freaking castle!! And every time I would show someone a picture of it their first reaction was \"wow\" and that is exactly what I wanted! Everyone had an amazing time! \rThe only thing is....figuring out how you want to do dinner there. My plan A was to have everyone eat out on the terrace, but it was hot on our wedding day and there was the chance of rain so we didn't want to take the chance so we had everyone eat inside. Your guests will be split up into separate rooms, but that's not really a big deal because 1. dinner isn't that long and 2. people only talk to the people at their table anyways so what's it matter? The other option is to rent the tent they can put up over the terrace, but that is pretty pricey at $3,000 for just a tent. Plus it blocks the beauty of Cairnwood when it is up!\rThey do have a list of preferred caterers that you have to pick from (I think there is about 13 of them), but as long as you pick Karen's Catering you will be extremely happy! \rOverall, I am beyond glad we picked Cairnwood to have our wedding at because it was so amazing and all of our pictures look AWESOME because there isn't anywhere in the place that makes the background of a picture look bad! The staff was great and everyone loved being in such a cool place! 5 stars!!!!

We didn't have to plan much in the way of decor because the house itself creates a beautiful, elegant atmosphere. The people who work there are so nice and personable, always willing to offer ideas and answer questions. All of our guests raved about it and how unique it was. Once we saw it we knew we couldn't have our wedding anywhere else and it was everything we thought it would be!

The venue is beautiful - we got so many compliments on it. They offer different prices on different days, so it can work for any budget. They also let you choose from a lot of different caterers which is great flexibility. The employees are readily available and very communicative. The only drawback is that it can be hard to find.

There are not enough words to describe Cairnwood Estates. The grounds and establishment are breathtaking. As soon as we walked in for the tour we were sold and booked our wedding date. This was the first place we visited and last. Shannon and Evelyn were wonderful to work with. They were so nice, helpful and flexible. All of our guests raved about how beautiful the place was and felt like they were in a castle. If you are looking for a venue that is different from the indoor ballroom setting, then Cairnwood is the place to book. I highly recommened them.

Cairnwood was a beautiful wedding venue! The space has amazing versatility! We were able to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, classy indoor dinner in 3 unique dining rooms, and indoor/outdoor reception! Right from the start, Shannon was my go to person! She was so responsive and informative. Shannon and the rest of the crew at Cairnwood were so helpful and flexible throughout the entire planning process. The grounds are stunning and made for amazing photos. I highly recommend this venue!

Cairnwood is an amazing place. It was everything I was looking for in a wedding venue. It was historic, impeccably maintained, unique, had both indoor and outdoor space, and could accommodate my ceremony as well as my reception. Most of the staff is great to work with, though they can be snooty and pushy. I would give this venue 5 stars except for the fact that they limit the number of hours of your event and when you can be in the venue (to get ready) unless you want to pay extra fees (which other venues do not because the hours are included). It can only hold weddings of 170 or fewer, and there is not space for everyone to be in the same room. That did not bother me since my guest count was less than 100, so it was perfect. I would highly recommend Cairnwood to anyone who wants that historic feel of grand staircases, chandeliers, fireplaces and mantles. It was like getting married in a small palace.

A venue like this immediately sets your wedding apart from those at a country club or catering hall. Cairnwood is such a unique place that you must see it to understand. The mansion is wonderfully diverse from the elegant Grand Hall (with its prominent staircase) to the charm of the Pink Room to the homely groom/bridal suites. The grounds are well-manicured, and the view from the terrace (overlooking the great lawn and Bryn Athyn Cathedral) is a bonus. Just the sight of the mansion from the bottom of the driveway leaves the guest with a strong first impression. Personally, my wife and I took full advantage by spending the entire day here. I put on my tux with the rest of my groomsmen in the groom's suite. We held our ceremony under the archway at the main entrance. Our cocktail hour was indoors in the air conditioning, and then the reception was outdoors on the veranda under a white tent during sunset. I had an amazing experience, but there are some drawbacks to consider. I wasn't impressed with the service. They leave pretty much everything to the caterer, so you will absolutely need a good one who has experience at Cairnwood. It was also expensive, but you do get what you pay for. Also, guests in a large wedding may need to use separate rooms if dining indoors, and the dance floor is in a library/study. Overall though, this place is awesome and highly recommended.

If you are looking for a unique setting, and don't want a typical catering hall/hotel, this place is amazing! We still have guests raving about how beautiful this place is. It has amazing history behind it as well, which my parents loved. Day of, it was great having all the room I did in the bridal suite, and the staff is so friendly and relaxed. My only downside, is that they claim that the estate is \"yours\" for the day, but there are still hourly stiupulations, and extra costs when you need more time before or after, and that can be quite expensive. When my now husband and I visited Cairnwood it was raining and had snow on the ground and we loved the place. And luckily we still loved it on our wedding day as it was also raining. Despite the rain the setting was so romantic. Everyone on staff at Cairnwood was very helpful the day of. It was such a different type of place and the different rooms we thought would be a down fall, but turns out it got everyone out of the seats and exploring. People said it was the only wedding where they actually got to talk to people.

The location is absolutely stunning, so I gave an overall rating of 5 stars. It was perfect for my 80 guest wedding in February. The beauty of the place really saves on other costly decorations.
