About Cantigny Located in Wheaton, Illinois, Cantigny Park and Cantigny Golf are prime wedding venues for couples in the Chicago area. To-be-weds can enjoy their special day among gardens or in a country club atmosphere. The former estate of Robert R. McCormick, Cantigny provides an idyllic backdrop for weddings and events of all kinds. Facilities The 500-acre estate offers three facilities for events, each with attentive service and fabulous cuisine. At Cantigny Park, Le Jardin, on the north end of the Visitors Center, is surrounded by serene display gardens. An outdoor patio provides a perfect spot for pre-dinner cocktails. The room itself accommodates up to 200 guests. At Cantigny Golf, the Red Oak Room provides space for up to 140. The room features panoramic views of the golf course and a soaring cathedral ceiling. Also at Cantigny Golf is the Woodside Pavilion, a premium tented venue for parties of up to 250 guests. Couples can choose from seven ceremony sites on property: South Grove, Rose Garden, Rock Garden, Prairie View, Red Oak Patio, Lakeside Patio and Woodside Garden. Each can become an elegant retreat with decor to suit your wedding theme. Wedding parties and their guests will treasure their time at Cantigny, a scenic venue with numerous opportunities for stunning wedding photography and videography. Cuisine At Cantigny, couples can design their own menu by choosing the entrees they love most. Select from dishes like Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi, Tuscan Pork with apple mashed potatoes, Mediterranean Chicken, and more. The culinary team also provides a selection of hors d'oeuvres, late-night snacks, and bar options to wow wedding guests. History Cantigny was the home and property of Colonel Robert R. McCormick (1880-1955), long-time editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune. McCormick’s passing established the Robert R. McCormick Charitable Trust, now called the McCormick Foundation, and Cantigny was designated as a public space for education and recreation. The park opened in 1958. Cantigny Golf opened in 1989.

If you’re looking for a scenic, woodsy setting for your wedding, this is the place! We recently got married at Cantigny and LOVED every second of our wedding day and enjoyed the overall wedding planning experience prior to that. We chose to have our ceremony in the Rock Garden and the reception at the Woodside Pavilion. It was a pleasure working with Gina and Lauren - they were very kind, down to earth, communicative and really listened to what we wanted. So, if you’re looking for a picture perfect wedding venue with exceptional coordinators, choose Cantigny - you won’t regret it!

I got married here on Sunday! I had my ceremony at the East Lawn and my reception at the Woodside Pavilion. From start to finish, everyone was professional, had great communication, and were genuinely invested in making sure that my day went perfectly. Amanda, Gina, and Makayla were all awesome. I truthfully don’t know how my event would have went without them. The venue is fairly priced in comparison to other venues, BUT you get soooooooo much more in your wedding package. All of my guest can not stop talking about how beautiful my wedding was. I am forever grateful.

When we first toured Cantigny we both knew it was the place we wanted to have our wedding ceremony and reception! Our coordinator Taylor was very helpful and responsive and put us at ease while we planned all of the details for our wedding reception. Gina, the ceremony coordinator was also very positive and helped us take some basic ideas and make them into a beautiful ceremony. However, on the day of the rehearsal and the actual wedding, we did not see Taylor or Gina. There were several other staff members helping out but they were not as familiar with our plans or setup. We also had a hard time finding good locations to take pictures in the park because it was a crowded summer day and unfortunately we could not get all of the photos we wanted. It would have been beneficial to have someone on staff nearby to help with this, especially because we were even asked to show a photo permit to someone on staff so clearly they were not aware we were having our wedding there. The ceremony went as planned and we were very happy with it. At the reception, the catering staff was attentive and helpful but again, we would have appreciated it if one of the coordinators or their assistants had checked in on us. When the wedding ended we quickly tried to gather everything up and we were very disappointed when the sprinklers outside of the Woodside Pavilion turned on as we were trying to assist my husband's 90-year-old grandmother with getting into a car. Unfortunately, she and many other guests were wet when they drove home. We also were disappointed no one on the Cantigny staff reached out to see how everything went. We really loved our wedding and reception at Cantigny but we did feel like less of a priority with all of the other weddings going on and the sprinkler situation was really not okay. I would recommend booking Cantigny for your wedding but I would make sure to discuss with your coordinators how they will be supporting you on the day of your wedding and who will be directly helping you, even if there are several other weddings on the same day.

Wedding of our dreams! We can't stop raving about the wedding and neither can our guests. Gina and Tiffany were incredible to work with from the first meeting through wedding. They are so organized and professional, eager to give you exactly what you want, it felt like we had hired our own wedding planner. Ceremony: The grounds are gorgeous and well-manicured to an insane standard. Pure beauty as soon as you enter the gardens with endless spots for pictures or special moments. Gina was our day-of coordinator and did the dang thing! No matter what curveballs popped up she was on top of it making sure everything was perfect. Reception: Woodside Pavilion was beautiful white canvas that doesn't require a lot to achieve an elegant + modern aesthetic. Our guests loved the hors d'oeuvres. Dinner was delicious and they nailed the timing of everyone getting food at the same time. The drinks were flowin and every time I (the bride) got near the bar they'd start pouring my drink of choice without me having to ask! Tiffany was our reception coordinator and meticulously planned every detail with us to achieve the night of our dreams. Thank you Cantigny!!

We held our wedding at Cantigny Park at the end of September 2022, and we would highly recommend this venue to other couple’s looking to celebrate their special day. Everyone we worked with was absolutely fantastic, mainly Taylor for the reception/catering, Gina for the ceremony, and Emily as our day-of ceremony coordinator. The grounds are truly gorgeous, and since it was a beautiful day, we were able to take advantage of the many locations for photos. (Tip: Do the tanks last out of all photos, because people in the wedding party will definitely want to climb on them.) We held our ceremony at the Rock Garden site, and it was just beautiful. Our reception was held in the Le Jardin room at the Park, and it was a perfect setting for our reception. (We had about 100 guests.) The staff set up all the décor perfectly, which was a big time saver for us. Emily was also very flexible about the décor drop off before our rehearsal, which was delayed because we lost the car key with half the décor locked inside the car. (We never did find the key. Yay AAA!) The catering team was great about the many food allergies and dietary needs among our guests, and the food was delicious. The serving staff was friendly, helpful, and well-coordinated. Overall, we and our guests truly enjoyed this venue, and we cannot say enough in praise of it. Even if you aren’t currently planning a wedding, take a day to drop by and just enjoy all the beauty of nature Cantigny has to offer. Thank you to everyone at Cantigny Park!

All I can say is that Cantigny was wonderful to work with. Mark and I got married at the red oak patio and had our reception in the red oak room. We had about a 100 guests and it felt full but not crowded. Tiffany from catering, our day of coordinator Tiffany and our ceremony specialist Gina were great at communicating and making sure our day ran flawlessly. The food was delicious and we got so many compliments for how great the day went. The bridesmaid's got ready at the gate house. It was beautiful and perfect for getting ready photos and 1st looks. Our photographer couldn't give enough compliments for the great lighting within the house. There were also multiple outlets for our hairstylists and big mirrors to get ready and put make up on.

The rose garden provided the perfect location for our romantic ceremony and the Woodside Pavilion was exactly the unique and elegant reception we were going for. The food was absolutely top notch, the service was unparalleled, the facilities were clean and beautiful and the team I had helping me every step of the way from signing the contact to planning meetings to the rehearsal to the day of was absolutely amazing! Taylor, Gina and Emily helped us make every dream we had for our big day come true and I couldn’t imagine our wedding being anywhere else!

All of our guests raved about the food and had friendly service. They completely set up our entire reception and everything was exactly as I pictured! Working with Amanda was wonderful and she *always* picked up the phone when I called - no phone tag. We just had a great experience and highly recommend Cantigny!

We used Cantigny for our ceremony only as our reception venue did not do both. We absolutely loved this park! On our wedding day, we actually had an issue last minute with an arch with our flowers on it completely breaking and Lindsey (coordinator) and her team were able to step in and help out without us knowing anything had happened! They were very responsive and attentive and made sure our day of coordinating went smoothly and as planned. We specifically worked with Gina and Lindsey and we can not thank them enough for all their help and kindness! Definitely recommend for a wedding! Gorgeous views in the park!

We used Cantigny for our ceremony only as our reception venue did not do both. We absolutely loved this park! On our wedding day, we actually had an issue last minute with an arch with our flowers on it completely breaking and Lindsey (coordinator) and her team were able to step in and help out without us knowing anything had happened! They were very responsive and attentive and made sure our day of coordinating went smoothly and as planned. We specifically worked with Gina and Lindsey and we can not thank them enough for all their help and kindness! Definitely recommend for a wedding! Gorgeous views in the park!

From the first meeting to the follow-up, everyone was helpful and friendly and made us feel like my daughter's wedding was the only one. The setting (East Lawn) was just stunningly beautiful! Our day of coordinators, Gina & Tiffany, felt like family by the end of the day! They anticipated our needs before we knew we needed anything! The Woodside pavilion was gorgeous for the reception, and the food was better than any 5-star restaurant. We had so many compliments on the magical day my daughter & son-in-law had and could not be happier with this venue!

Not realizing we would be doing the same thing several years later.Since day one, Taylor at Cantigny Golf was WONDERFUL! She was so prepared with answers to all of our questions, helped inform details we would have never thought about, and was so kind and genuine in ensuring all our needs were met. She is a SUPERHUMAN as she juggled the most weddings this year while becoming a momma!Her attention to detail provided us and our guests with peace of mind and SUCH A GOOD TIME. It's been two weeks since our wedding and people still keep asking us if we plan on having another event with them in the future.Pamela, our server for the evening, was outstanding in attending to our needs and allowed us to have such a wonderful time with loved ones.Small note for future brides: I wish there was a little more time dedicated with the Ceremony Specialists/Day-of Coordinator at Cantigny Park. There really wasn't much communication until the week before and it felt like I had to keep reaching out to touch base. Our DJ was even shocked when Gina mentioned, 'I forgot your wedding was coming up' during a meeting (which I'm certain was not literal or malicious - It just wasn't something I wanted to hear three weeks before our wedding.)And shout out to the rest of the staff at the Red Oak Room and Cantigny Park for making the day so wonderful! Great FOOD and great SERVICE!We cannot wait to celebrate our anniversaries by strolling through the same garden for years to come. <3

Tom and I were married 6/10/22 at Cantigny in the First Pavillion… and it was the best day of our lives! This was in big part to Cantigny. Shout out to Gina, the best coordinator we could have ever imagined working with! She made everything so easy and simple. Nothing was too much of a request. She’s incredible! We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Joseph Medill Room the night prior to the wedding. The food was AMAZING! Tiffany with catering went above and beyond to make our vision for the rehearsal come true. On our wedding day, Cantigny had golf carts ready for pick up from the shuttle to the museum. When it started pouring later, they came in with the golf carts to save us and get us back to the bus dry. Thank you Cantigny for everything!

Tom and I were married 6/10/22 at Cantigny in the First Pavillion… and it was the best day of our lives! This was in big part to Cantigny. Shout out to Gina, the best coordinator we could have ever imagined working with! She made everything so easy and simple. Nothing was too much of a request. She’s incredible! We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Joseph Medill Room the night prior to the wedding. The food was AMAZING! My husband and I chose Cantigny as our venue because it fit our budget, had enough capacity for 150 people, and had a beautiful garden space. We had our ceremony in the Rose Garden in June and the garden was lush and the flowers were in bloom. I was worried about having my wedding look too “golf club-y”, but we were able to avoid that by utilizing the beautiful outdoor space for the ceremony and the Woodside Pavillion tent for the reception. The food is above average. We did have a mix up on our wedding date where the invoice did not match what we had communicated through email and so ended up with 2 servings of mashed potatoes instead of 1 mashed potatoes and 1 green beans. Other than that everything went to plan. The staff was responsive, but we mostly worked with our full wedding planner so we did not have to rely on them too much.

Cantigny park/golf is a beautiful place to have a wedding! There are so many possibilities and the team there is wonderful to work with. The communication with the team was quick and easy and they were great about answering questions and addressing concerns. We had our ceremony and reception on the golf side of Cantigny in the Woodside Garden and Woodside Pavilion. We had a varying threat of rain on the day of so the team set up an alternate location inside in case we got rained out. The ceremony and reception set up was exactly how I imagined it would look. The team was great about taking inventory of the items I was bringing in and keeping track of everything. I would say one con I have is that coordination on the day of was lacking for the bridal party. We rented out the cottages on the park side and had wanted to take pictures on the park side, but had trouble getting there from the cottages, trouble hiding myself (the bride) from the groom prior to the first look, and trouble getting everyone over to photo locations so we didn't actually get many pictures on the beautiful park side. The coordinator that Cantigny provides is more for the vendors and decorations then help with the day of activities so I would recommend using a day of coordinator/wedding planner/ or family member so you avoid the stress that I had. The option for an open bar was awesome and people were completely satisfied with the general selection, no need to get the luxury. We also opted to create two signature drinks that people loved and that they Cantigny staff made a cute sign for advertising. The food there is okay, it's definitely not bad at all but its also not memorable. We chose Cantigny more for the beauty, price, and great communication with the wedding team. I hope you choose Cantigny for your wedding I am so happy that we went with them and I would do it all over again there if I could!

The ceremony sites are all beautiful, and the garden itself is perfectly manicured for all your whimsical photography needs. We had our reception on the golf course in the Red Oak Room. The room has unique ceilings that make for a neat ambiance at night when the lights are lowered, and not to mention the amazing outdoor patio it comes with. All the staff were friendly, organized, and made the day effortless. The venue is also very reasonably priced compared to other garden venues in the area. I can’t say enough amazing things about Cantigny. I was overwhelmed when I first started planning my wedding. I looked at sooo many different wedding venues in the Chicago land area, and none of them felt right. They were either way too expensive, not that beautiful, or far away. I wanted an outdoor ceremony surrounded by nature, and I did not want a reception in a stuffy banquet hall. When my husband and I stumbled across Cantigny, they had everything we wanted. We couldn’t believe it. We kept saying that this place was too good to be true. The entire staff was extremely warm, welcoming and friendly. They made the entire process run so smoothly. Tiffany (reception coordinator) and Abby (ceremony coordinator) were INCREDIBLE! They always responded to me right away whenever I had questions and made me feel supported. On the wedding day, it was raining on and off. But somehow these amazing people brought everything together so well! We still had our gorgeous ceremony outside when the weather got nicer. I was never worried and truly trusted the team. My guests kept telling me how beautiful everything was and they loved the food! I have already recommended Cantigny to many friends and family. It was such a positive and happy experience! Thank you so much Cantigny.

The whole team at Cantigny Park was outstanding. My daughter's wedding was in the Rock Garden with the cocktail hour on the Le Jardin patio and it was simply a beautiful setting. When we moved into Le Jardin for the reception everyone was amazed at the space and light as well as the wonderful family style dinner. Abby Clark and Gina C., the Ceremony Coordinators and Tiffany Vroman, the Catering Sales Manager, answered all of our (sometimes daily!) questions and responded quickly during the planning process. Not easy when they were taking care of many brides and other events but they always made us feel as if we were the most important client at that moment. All the details and questions that we had listed were taken care of with ease with this team. The \"Day Of\" went as smoothly as we expected and we would not have changed a thing!I highly recommend hosting your wedding at Cantigny Park!

Carly set everything up for us and answered numerous questions via email--she was excited as we were--literally like family. The food was excellent and guests were walking out saying it was the 'best wedding they had ever been to'. Our only \"complaint\" was the cake (provided by an outside vendor), but Carly set up a meeting afterward to address directly with the vendor. All and all, we were very pleased, and our pictures alone were worth the wedding/reception at Cantigny. I would highly recommend this venue for both the staff and the food.

We had our ceremony at the Cantigny East Lawn and our reception in the Le Jardin restaurant, and I don't even have the words to describe how perfect everything was! Le Jardin was recently upgraded a little with new carpeting and chairs, and it looked great.My ceremony coordinator was Abby Clark and the catering coordinator was Taylor Clark, and I really don't have enough good things to say about them. They were with me every step of the way with support, advice, and assistance- they were personable, friendly, and really made me feel like they cared about me, my vision, and our day, and didn't just view us as a set of faceless customers to make money off of. They were transparent and helpful regarding costs and my options, and I never felt like I was being upsold on anything- they just put the work in to make my day as perfect as possible.The food was great, the bar service was great, the layout was great, the day-of support was great- honestly, I have literally not a single negative thing to say about Cantigny, Taylor, Abby, and the rest of the staff. We booked our 10/5/19 wedding well over a year out due to demand for this venue. We booked the East Lawn for the ceremony and Le Jardin for the reception. If you book both parts of the wedding at Cantigny, you work with a ceremony coordinator and the catering manager. We went to Cantigny about four times before our wedding and the catering manager was often available on Sundays, which is nice for couples with a standard business schedule. Both the ceremony coordinator and the catering manager asked for information to be filled out in a questionnaire to help guide us. They were forgiving of emails not responded to after a few days, which is appreciated. The day of our wedding, the weather looked iffy- a chance of rain in the evening. Cantigny had a 3 pm and 4 pm ceremony before our ceremony at 5 pm. We were able to take photographs before it started to rain. If you have both your ceremony and reception at Cantigny, they will have a contingency plan for rain outs. Once we made the call to have the wedding inside at about 4:45 pm, the coordinator and the rest of the staff worked very quickly to bring about 175 chairs indoors and wipe them down. The staff also put up a white curtain to hide a portrait of McCormick. They were ready to go at 5:15 pm. Abby, our ceremony coordinator was soaking wet after hustling to move everything inside, but had a big smile on her face and kept everything running. For the reception, the staff is well trained and efficiently served our guests. Our guests were very happy with the food and the bar service. The only thing that came up during planning was that we did not meet the food and drink minimum, so we had to either piece together add-ons or just take the next highest package. We took the highest package and received upgraded chairs, food, and drink selections. This might not have been a big surprise if I did the math as we went along. All in all, we were very happy with the location and staff at Cantigny. We would recommend this as a good site for a medium-sized wedding.

Without her and Lindsey, I dont know how my wife and I would have been able to handle the wedding stress.I highly recommend using Cantigny as a wedding venue not only for the phenomenal scenic grounds, but for the ease of preparation. The staff contributes so much to make the wedding as stress-free as possible.

We are so amazed with everything from Cantigny. We had the most incredible catering manager, Taylor Clark, and ceremony coordinator, Abby Clark. They were truly the reason the entire day went flawlessly. To start the day, we rented the Gatehouse for the bridal suite. Absolutely recommend. We were able to have hair and make up meet us to make it easy for everyone. Abby knew how much I wanted an outdoor ceremony and did absolutely everything she could to make sure it happened (60 degrees and all!) it was so so beautiful. As the bride and groom, we truly don’t know if anything went wrong. It was all out of our hands and no one mentioned anything. Food tasted even better than our tasting. The bartenders were so fast and kept up with our large wedding numbers. Truly nothing in the day could have gone better. I don’t think you will find anything as amazing for the price, location or beauty in the Midwest. One hundred percent recommend to our family and friends. Thank you all so much for taking care of us and being there to help celebrate our journey. Cantigny will always be special for us.

Cantigny Park is a beautiful venue and provides excellent service. We were teamed up with a coordinator early in the process (before we had even booked a date). They aided with everything from start to finish and put our wishes above all. The reception was everything we could have wanted. Cantigny designed it exactly to our specifications (and perhaps even better than we asked for). She listened to every idea I had and were flexible when i wanted our late night bite to be a build your own MAC AND CHEESE BAR!!!! Abby on the Park side was wonderful for our ceremony! We had our wedding on the East Lawn, our reception at the Red Oak Room, and rented out the Dairyman's Cottage for the girls to get ready in. Abby C. and Lindsey G. were absolutely fantastic to work with and made planning our wedding from Colorado super easy! Abby came by the cottage several times throughout the day to check on us and do a weather touch base. We purposefully planned our wedding for September so it would be less likely to rain. During our ceremony, the heavens opened and it downpoured during my vows. It wasn't supposed to rain until later that night but Abby was quick with the umbrellas and we all cozied up under umbrellas for the last part of the ceremony. Despite the rain, we still think the ceremony was great and the surprise was handled calmly. Our reception was perfect. We gave everything to Lindsey the day before the wedding and gave her a chart of where to set everything up (complete with rain and no rain options). We couldn't have asked for a more beautifully decorated reception with all of our items being placed perfectly. My husband and I took several \"breaks\" throughout the evening to walk around and take in the details. Lindsey even brought some cocktail appetizers out to my husband and me before being announced since we were so hungry. We were so beyond happy with the level of service and the beautiful grounds that Cantigny provided to us on our wedding day. Cantigny is truly a wonderful place to get married and have your reception, and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

We had our reception at Cantigny Golf in the Red Oak Room, the other side of the forrest preserve, just last weekend and we were very happy with the result! The food was OUTSTANDING and the service was incredibly fast and efficient and constant. Our guests never had to ask for anything during the dinner service, servers and hands were always coming around to clear plates and refill wine glasses and water glasses. We were extremely impressed. Working with our wedding coordinator at Cantigny was a wonderful experience. She answered all of our questions (and we had a ton of them) all throughout the planning process and was extremely patient with us. My only complaint is that we were promised, when we dropped off all of our decorations two days prior, that the room would be set up exactly how I dreamed it would be. We showed up 10 minutes into our cocktail hour and the room was only half set up as we wanted. Even though we sent pictures to our wedding coordinator and had numerous in depth conversations, there were major things on the tables that were left off and not set up as I dreamed they would be. A lot of the decor we dropped off was set up BEAUTIFULLY and we were extremely pleased, but the tables were a bit disappointing and the lack of follow through was disheartening. However, all in all, we were EXTREMELY please and impressed with our time and interactions with Cantigny throughout the process and were thrilled with the day of results. The venue was absolutely stunning just because of the natural landscape of it all. I will say, on our wedding day we had torrential downpours all day and our wedding coordinator still managed to find us \"behind the scenes\" spots to still get gorgeous covered photos outside. We were extremely grateful for that as well. So, HAVE YOU'RE WEDDING HERE!! Just be prepared to over communicate what your vision is for your day.

This past August we got married on the East Lawn with the Woodside Pavillion as our reception location. We worked the entire time with Taylor C. who was a breath of fresh air! Her communication and planning skills are top notch and she made it very easy for us.The East Lawn was a beautiful site to get married; it is so beautiful that I didn't feel the need to have any additional flowers or decorations because the groundskeepers make that site look gorgeous no matter what time of the year. The morning of the wedding there were thunderstorms and lightening. Taylor and Abby continued to communicate with us that the show would still go on despite possible drizzles. The staff still set up a wonderful ceremony and gave us until the last second to decide that it would be outdoors. As all weddings have hiccups, ours was that our driver never came to pick us up from the ceremony site to the reception site. Abby was extremely generous and ended up driving the groom and I over the reception. This was definitely not part of the deal but she still went out of her way to do it instead of us having to wait around for another ride. The reception was held at the new Woodside Pavillion. This is a new white tent that has great lighting and chandeliers from the ceiling. The interior is very nice and the outdoor space is great. There is a good amount of space on the patio for people to mingle. The lawn was a great use of space too for people to play cornhole and lawn games or smoke cigars during happy hour. Though I barely got a chance to eat or drink anything that day, everyone said the food was great and the staff was awesome at refilling empty dishes that were the first to go (family style). Only downside was the A/C. There were 180 people and it was an \"out of the norm\" humid day after a storm. Because of this, the tent never got to a good cool temperature. Though the guests were having a great time, you could tell people were warm. There will always be something that goes wrong at weddings, but the Cantigny Park Team is extremely accommodating and patient and provided excellent service. I would recommend their staff and location to anyone.

Cantigny Golf was an absolutely beautiful location for our wedding reception. We had wanted to host our reception in a tent, but also wanted air conditioning and a solid floor in case of rain. The Woodside Pavillion at Cantigny Golf gave us these amenities and was perfect for what we were looking for. From the onset, the staff, especially Lindsey, was immensely helpful in planning our big day and offered an absolutely unparalleled amount of flexibility in everything from decorations to drinks. Our guests were highly complementary of the food and drinks served by Cantigny. Our only issue was related to coordinating setup prior to our wedding day -- we were unable to get into the space the day before our wedding to setup as an event we were not given advanced notice of was taking place. We were able to work around this, but we'd recommend stronger communication regarding bookending events. Regardless, Cantigny Golf was an excellent choice for our special event and would absolutely recommend it to others!

Cantigny Golf was an absolutely beautiful location for our wedding reception. We had wanted to host our reception in a tent, but also wanted air conditioning and a solid floor in case of rain. The Woodside Pavillion at Cantigny Golf gave us these amenities and was perfect for what we were looking for. From the onset, the staff, especially Lindsey, was immensely helpful in planning our big day and offered an absolutely unparalleled amount of flexibility in everything from decorations to drinks. Our guests were highly complementary of the food and drinks served by Cantigny. Our only issue was related to coordinating setup prior to our wedding day -- we were unable to get into the space the day before our wedding to setup as an event we were not given advanced notice of was taking place. We were able to work around this, but we'd recommend stronger communication regarding bookending events. Regardless, Cantigny Golf was an excellent choice for our special event and would absolutely recommend it to others!

We had our ceremony and reception at Cantigny Park on July 5, 2019 and we would highly recommend this venue to everyone!! We had our ceremony at East Lawn, and everything was beautifully perfect. Abby Clark and Kaylee were our ceremony coordinators and they made sure everything was taken care of from our guests, to bridal party, to flowers, to transportation, and all the small details. We had our reception at Le Jardin and it was absolutely gorgeous! Taylor Clark was our venue coordinator and she is the catering manager - she is absolutely amazing and made our entire wedding planning process and wedding day very stress-free. It is a simple but elegant venue and the food is exquisite! We are still getting compliments about our venue and food. We highly recommend Cantigny Park for all couples looking for a stress-free, all inclusive perfect wedding venue!

We had our wedding in the Le Jardin room at Cantigny Park's Visitors Center, and wow - we had an absolutely fantastic day! We worked with Bryanne from the beginning, and she was great at answering questions, getting back to us in a timely manner, and making sure we understood everything that was going on. Cantigny just remodeled the Le Jardin room and redesigned the entire garden outside the building, so if you haven't been there in the past year, I'd recommend going in for another look. The room now looks impeccable - very clean and tons of windows to look outside, something we absolutely wanted at our reception. The grounds around the Visitor's Center are so nicely kept, and the colors in October were amazing! If you're looking for a great picture spot, don't forget about the tanks in front of the war museum. With regards to our actual reception, we couldn't have asked for more from Cantigny. We had about 150 people end up attending, and the room had plenty of space to accommodate everyone comfortably, including a good sized dance floor. The food was absolutely wonderful (even better than the tasting), the tables were set beautifully, and the entire evening flowed without a hitch. If you're looking for something special, Cantigny offers signature his & hers cocktails with one of their wedding packages, and our guests were raving about the cocktails we selected! Cantigny went above and beyond, even getting ingredients not normally used (hello, pomegranate seeds?) and upgraded liquor. In addition, the wedding party had the use of a conference room in another part of the Visitors Center to keep all our stuff safe during cocktail hour and the reception, which was great. All in all, I would definitely recommend Cantigny Park to anyone looking for a sophisticated and natural setting for your reception. You will not be disappointed!

The venue is lovely but the amenities just aren’t there for what they are charging. NO brides room for my daughter-in-law. They had her standing in vestibule with her mom in front of her till I insisted they move us. They then took us up to a board room without making sure her mom knew were we were. All of the guests were freezing despite their unsuccessful attempts at heating the place. You could actually see their breath! Terrible back up plan. Only one bartender after ceremony to get drinks for over 100 people. She was also promised a wedding planner for the day who was NOT on site. I would look elsewhere.

Cantigny Park was a beautiful venue for our September wedding! We were married at the East Lawn and I couldn't have been happier with the set up of our ceremony. The staff was super helpful by laying out our rose petals and setting up the chair perfectly! The ceremony coordinator could have been more helpful and direct but I believe that she was newer to Cantigny. The two things that I was disappointed with as far as the ceremony goes was the signs and being double booked. Yes, unfortunately our original date was for September 15, 2018 but due to an error by Cantingy, the ceremony site was double booked for that day. They accommodated us for switching our day and they found the error quickly but it was a bit stressful. As far as the signs go, I was told that there was going to be directional signs to ensure that my guests knew where our wedding was and there was not. Luckily my guests were able to find their way but even having a staff member present to point people in the right direction would have been nice. Otherwise, everyone was polite and helpful and I loved my ceremony!Our reception took place at the Cantigny Golf course in their new Woodside Pavilion. This was AMAZING! The food, both appetizers and dinner, was amazing and I am still hearing from guests about it! The staff were all polite and accommodating. They were willing to help with the set up of our decorations but we had time the Friday before so we set it up ourselves. They were helpful in packing things up and making sure that the bridal party didn't leave anything behind, like our cake! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a outdoor ceremony and tented style reception! It was more beautiful than I imagined and in the end I was perfect!

On top of the venue being spectacular, our event coordinator, Taylor, was top knotch. Taylor was so professional, kind and responsive and made the night better than we had imagined! If you are considering having any event that will \"wow\" your guests - have it at Cantigny. The grounds and staff are supberb.

The experience was wonderful -- Taylor our account manager there was outstanding. She was responsive, thorough and patient throughout the process. Only thing I am dissapointed by is the lack of clear communication. Our coordinator was Alexa. We had planned for 2 first looks (bride with father and then with groom) and our original spots for these photos were under construction. Construction is fine, but she was not the one who informed us! We found out from our photographer via email! So it wasnt until our rehearsel we were able to discuss this and walk the grounds again to pick new spots. It turned out fine in the end but I was upset I had to hear about their venue from another vendor!! Besides that, I rate the place high because I love the gardens!

What an incredible venue!As someone told us when we first booked The East Lawn and The Red Oak Room, the photos you get will be worth the venue price alone ...and as long as the weather cooperates, that's true! (Although it is very nice that if you book both your ceremony and reception with the venue, they will provide a backup rain ceremony site for no extra charge)The booking process was very easy and the entire staff was great at helping us set up tours, food tastings, etc while we made trips to the Midwest from Boston to plan our big day. There were a couple of hiccups in the planning process such as frequent change in coordinators, our last coordinator was actually getting married the same week as us - which we weren't informed of until close to our wedding date and there was construction this summer which affected/moved our bridal suite a number of times.However no matter what issue came up, the staff were incredibly responsive and did everything they could to make our day perfect. In the end the weather behaved and we had an absolutely incredible outdoor wedding with the help of Giselle, the current day-of coordinator on the park side, who really did a phenomenal job at the rehearsal, getting everything set up for the ceremony and cuing us at the start of the ceremony.One important thing to note, they don't close or rope off anything for your wedding so park visitors will be walking around/near the ceremony site and in our case - despite Giselle's best efforts to intercept them - a stubborn elderly couple walked right through our bridal processional. There were also a number of other couples who had traveled to the park just to take wedding photos, however thankfully our photographers were great and worked around them so the park looks deserted in our photos!

Even though we ended up getting rained out of the Rose Garden, Karen and Cantigny did an amazing job of moving the wedding into the balcony off the Red Oak room (even though it only started raining about 45minutes before the ceremony) and we had endless compliments on this location! They did a great job working with us to make everything perfect and we really appreciated all the work they put into it! The food and cake were delicious and the setting was excellent!

However, the entire staff was amazing too! Daphne, our coordinator was so responsive and helpful from the very beginning and I didn't have a single worry the day of the wedding. We put our full trust in her and she delivered! Our day was perfect and I would recommend Cantigny to anyone! Also, splurge on the Dairyman's cottage to get ready. For our May 30, 2015 wedding, we chose to have the reception at the Cantigny Red Oak Room. Karen Elmore and her manager Mike Machay were absolutely great to work with! As complicated as wedding planning can be (especially when you don’t use a wedding coordinator and/or you are doing all the work yourself), Karen and Mike really have a great setup that makes the process a whole lot simpler…and beautiful (regardless of the weather)!!!\r\r For our wedding reception we were looking for a venue who could help us create a celebration that was unique to us, reflecting our tastes and interests and offer us the beauty of the outdoors. We sought a venue who could supply tasty (and yet healthy) meal choices, a setting of beautiful simplicity and elegance, able to help with some unique requests (like specialty wines from a local winery, able to address numerous unique dietary needs and work in challenges such as a Blackhawks game) all while seamlessly coordinating an outside bakery, florist, photographer and DJ. Karen and Mike helped guide us and patiently answered our numerous questions, as we selected a team of vendors who were flexible and very gifted in their respective specialties. \r\rWith numerous guests who had some unique dietary restrictions, the Cantigny staff worked to make sure that each of these special guests received their proper meal, drinks and desserts. Everyone’s meals were quite delicious, elegantly presented and well-received. \r\rOur wedding night coincided with a key Blackhawks game. So as to help us keep our guests, Cantigny agreed to keep the TVs on in the lounge for the avid hawks fans. \r\rThe staff at Cantigny pulled off the entire event without a hitch. We had such a wonderful time ourselves and coupled with the compliments our guests are still paying us now that the wedding is over (asking us when we’ll be holding our next party!), we are truly grateful to Cantigny and its staff for providing us such a phenomenally wonderful and truly memorable evening. We look forward to when we can have another family event and have no doubt as to where we would want to have it….Cantigny’s Red Oak Room! We had our wedding here in Sept 2014 and just loved it in the Red Oak Room. We were on a budget and they were able to accommodate exactly what we needed. Karen was just awesome to work with. So caring and answered every single one of my thousands of questions in a timely manner. She would send her responses back with my original question - a very good organized business approach I thought. The day of the wedding she was there helping guide the ceremony along...really went above and beyond. We wanted a venue that had the nature touch but we wanted to be protected from the elements of the earth (wind/rain/etc) and this place was perfect. The reception hall has views that are breathtaking and completely line one entire wall. It rained for about 30 minutes while we ate and then the sun came out and we could see rainbows outside the windows over the lake. It was incredible. Our ceremony was under the covered patio (not on the outdoor patio) and i was a little nervous the photos would not be as nice but they are really spectacular. And the best bonus is that our guests didn't have to sit in the direct sun while they waited for the ceremony to begin. The food was amazing...people kept leaning to me telling me how delicious everything was! We got the cake through Cantigny as well, they used Cocoa Bean for our cake and we did the gluten free option. And i just have to say it was delicious! I was nervous it would not taste good but everyone loved it! People couldn't believe me when i said it was gluten free! My only gripe is that the color of the cake came out pink and I really wanted a cream color cake. It could have been a communication error on my part, not entirely sure, but just good to know if you do get a cake through Cocoa Bean to be very clear on the color you want. Easy parking situation and access to drop off those who need front door service as well. We were there on a saturday when the golfers were there and they were all so respectful. They even cheered us after our ceremony as my hubby and I walked through the bar area back to the reception hall! Very very very awesome experience with this place. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

The coordinator Daphne walked us through the entire experience, offered her suggestions, and was a huge help from beginning to end. Daphne even set up an individual meeting for us with their head bartender to work out the finer points of the beverage service and craft our signature cocktails. The rest of the staff were equally helpful and did a great job both setting up all of our decorations/personalizations as well as carefully taking these things down and repacking them at the end of the night. We received many compliments from our guests on the ceremony, venue, and the staff with more than a few telling us that Cantigny put on the most beautiful wedding that they'd ever attended.

I recently held a wedding at Cantigny Park on June 29th in the East Lawn followed by a reception in the Red Oak room. The site it self is BEAUTIFUL and my photo's came out perfectly. However for a service level stand point communication was a struggle. It would take sometimes over a week to get a response from anyone, and frustration constantly grew when every time I emailed them I got an auto out of office response. I also was part of the 9 brides who were affected by the Oak tree falling on the lawn. I was assured 3 days before my wedding that the caution tape would be removed prior to the wedding and when I arrived to the ceremony to walk down the aisle I started my walk by having caution tape lifted over my head. Though this wont happen to every bride I felt like I didn't have one person assigned to my wedding and I would suggest when booking to request one of the women out of the visitors center. If Karen tries to plan your wedding request someone else she is not deeply involved in weddings and it felt as if I was a second priority. Regardless, the pictures alone are worth the investment in this location it is a well maintained and beautiful place.

Right when I walked in, I absolutely fell in love with this room - the view of nature from the wall of windows is absolutely spectacular. Cantigny is an amazing place to get married! We had our ceremony at Cantigny Park on 5/17/14 and our reception at Cantigny Golf Red Oak Room. Everything turned out perfectly! We were very concerned when we had our rehearsal the day before and our ceremony space was super muddy and slightly flooded due to all the recent rain. However, Karen and her staff saved the day when they suggested we could move to the Rock Garden at no extra charge, which was not muddy at all and an even more beautiful space. (Luckily our wedding day turned out sunny with zero rain!) Karen was very easy to work with. Although she sometimes was hard to reach by phone and took some time to write back with e-mails, everything always got addressed and taken care of in a timely matter and she was very flexible with any and all changes. We were able to add on extra food, such as a carving station during cocktail hour and family style crab legs during dinner and a sweets table later in the evening, when our guest list went from 125 to 80. And, the food was AMAZING! Everyone raved about it! Karen and everyone at Cantigny, thank you so much for helping to make our special day an amazing experience in a gorgeous setting! ---Alishia and Paul

The only downside to using this for your ceremony location is that they do not provide any staff members to assist you with walking through your rehearsal. So, unless you plan to pay a wedding planner, it makes it difficult to be the bride and coordinator.

Cantigny was a wonderful place for us to have the ceremony and reception. Because we booked both there, we were guaranteed a back up space for the ceremony just in case the weather didn't cooperate for an outdoor ceremony. It poured the morning of the wedding, so even though everything worked out and we had the ceremony outside, it put my mind at ease knowing I didn't have to worry about anything either way. \r\rThere is also a cottage available for rent that we used to get ready in and as a staging area before, during, and after pictures. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and dining room. It was perfect for the entire wedding party, plus both sets of parents and a few others to hang out before the ceremony. My husband and I chose not to see each other until the ceremony and we were able to do so without difficulty while at this cottage.\r\rWe got married in the Rose Garden and the only snafu was a slight delay in the set up of the chairs due to the weather. However, the staff at Cantigny handled everything wonderfully and it really didn't affect the timeline of the entire evening. \r\rThe reception was in Le Jardin, which was beautiful. One of the many reasons we picked it was because it doesn’t look like a typical banquet hall. Windows cover two of the walls and the back wall has a fireplace. In addition to the main room, we had the patio outside and a smaller, quieter area with comfy chairs right outside the restaurant - at no extra cost. \r\rThere is a food and beverage minimum, $16,000, which was reasonable for the amount of people we invited. Another major selling point was the ease of figuring out how much the reception would cost per person. It was easy to tell if we’d hit the minimum or if we’d have to add on more options in order to make the minimum. The package we got included 4 apps, open bar, soup, salad, entree, the wedding cake, wine during dinner, and basic linens, all on a per person basis. We picked package number 2. The less expensive package had less options and the more expensive package included more things. \r\rDaphne at Le Jardin was wonderful to work with. Despite the high volume of weddings at Cantigny, she did a great job of making me feel like I was the only one on her agenda. She had a lot of great ideas that made planning certain aspects of the reception a lot easier. Daphne and a bartender, Kevin, also helped come up with a signature beverage for us. This was also at no additional cost. We passed recipes back and forth via email until we all were happy with the final result. She also had me bring in everything for the ceremony and reception (programs, favors, any decorations) the day before the wedding so her staff could set up everything up for us. I didn't need to worry about finding family or friends to help get the reception or ceremony space ready. It was little things like that that really showed she was on top of her game. \r\rAll the feedback from my guests was positive. Many of them said Le Jardin had the best food out of any wedding they had gone to. Everyone loved how beautiful Cantigny was and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. \r\rThank you Daphne, Kevin, and the rest of the staff at Le Jardin!\r

Cantigny was a beautiful place for our wedding! Walking into Le Jardin during the day can be deceiving, as the room can look quite cafeteria-y. Once the lights are down and the tables are set up and decorated, it's very lovely. The fireplace makes the room warm, and the surrounding window are great. The appetizers were wonderful, but our buffet food was just okay. Magan was able to work with us to pull everything together in a three month period. And they do offer discounts for \"off season\" weddings!

I had the perfect wedding, much due to Karen, Mike and the staff at Cantigny Red Oak Room. Karen was very accommodating to all of my strange requests. \rThe comment we heard again and again from the guests was that not only was the food good wedding food, it was just good restaurant quality food. My new cousins wanted to do a traditional Pakistani dance for me and Mike was able to time the dinner correctly to get the Black Angus Filet Mignon perfectly cooked, and not over done. \rWe could not have been happier with the service and recommend their service for a wedding, a shower or any catered event.\r

The Red Oak Room served as the perfect back drop for my wedding this past September. The entire staff was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with, and the food was AMAZING!! We had originally planned to have the ceremony on the outside patio, but as it came closer and closer to the ceremony it was obvious we had to move it indoors. The entire staff worked together to make sure I didn't have to lift a finger and set everything up inside and it looked amazing! I would recommend Cantigny to anyone in a heart beat!

The Red Oak Room served as the perfect back drop for my wedding this past September. The entire staff was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with, and the food was AMAZING!! We had originally planned to have the ceremony on the outside patio, but as it came closer and closer to the ceremony it was obvious we had to move it indoors. The entire staff worked together to make sure I didn't have to lift a finger and set everything up inside and it looked amazing! I would recommend Cantigny to anyone in a heart beat!

My husband and I cannot say enough about the wonderful service we received at Cantigny. Our event planner, Karen, was knowledgeable and very well organized. Everyone was courteous the day of our event and treated us like VIPs. The location was beautiful, our room was large but still made the evening feel personal and intimate, and the cost was very reasonable for the location. The team at Cantigny well deserves high marks in every area of service!

Cantigny was by far the best venue we found in our price range. The gardens are gorgeous and the food is fantastic. Karen at Cantigny Golf provided service that exceeded our expectation!

Cantigny was easy to work with on most points for my wedding. The food is all done by the chefs there, and everything was so tasty, original, and not 'wedding' food at all. We really felt like we were taken care of all night, and it was worth the money.

I loved the location from the start. Gardens and things for people to do and see. My only complaint is that they rearranged my table seating which caused some friends to sit on opposite sides of the room where as I had intended them to be next to each other. The lady organizing things takes a while to get back to you via email or phone - so leave a message. I still like that a lot of details are covered with the location - I picked package 3 because we only had 130 guests show up (out of 250 invitations) and price-wise we needed to tack on extras, even on top of the package 3 rates, in order to meet the minimum. The minimum $16000 was comparable to other venues I looked at/considered. Food was good (although we got food poisoning after our food tasting). For the ceremony (we had it at the East Lawn) they were nice enough to let us move up a tier to the top so we could be in the shade (it was 90deg and sunny).

What a beautiful place - we had our ceremony on the covered patio and it turned out better than we could have hoped. We also held the reception in the Red Oak Room. Both had wonderful views of the golf course and the service was excellent. Karen helped every step of the way and always promptly answered questions and put our minds at ease. On the day of the wedding there were a few minor details to modify and as soon as I mentioned them the staff was working on it. Effortless ceremony and reception for us, we got to sit back and enjoy our day.

First of all, I would actually give Cantigny 4.5/5 stars, but there aren't half stars on this site. :-)\rWe booked our wedding reception venue with Cantigny Golf in Wheaton. Their packages included catering, the wedding cake and even our hotel room for the night at an area hotel, all in all it was a great deal! They were actually pretty well priced - yes wedding receptions are expensive, but there's was on the reasonable side, really! \rKaren Elmore was our main contact for our reception. She was extremely courteous and flexible with us every step of the way! She was a little difficult to get ahold of at times, but I learned to be patient with her. As time got closer, she was quicker with responding - which was appreciated close to the wedding! The rest of the staff was very professional too! \rThe food, drinks, etc for the wedding were delicious! We have received numerous compliments on the quality of the food and the fact that everyone had more than enough! We chose the package that included appetizers, salad, soup, main course and cake. Everyone loved the cake! \rThe only complaint I heard was the bar area was a little close to the dance floor. This was not really intended, as the bars are usually set up outside on the beautiful patio. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the patio or have the bar set up there because it was a cold and rainy night...not anyone's fault! \rJust a final note on the facility. It has been remodeled in the last 5 years or so (not sure??). Anyway, it is absolutely beautiful! The one side has huge windows overlooking the golf course, and it had a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired feel to it. It was a lovely setting for a reception!

We had our wedding reception at Le Jardin, the room off the visitors center with windows on all sides facing the gardens. I planned our wedding from AZ so email contact was vital. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because sometimes it was hard to get a response without a couple emails. I will admit that closer to the wedding the communication was better. Other than that everything was perfect; set up and service for dinner were great, and if we needed anything during someone was right there. The food was good, the wine excellent (we paid for premium/upgraded). Overall is was an excellent experience and we had a wonderful time!

Everything pre-wedding was great! Karen was very helpful, and went out of her way to make things perfect for us. It did take a little longer than preferred to get phone and email responses from her, but I always got a response.\rHowever, on the morning of the wedding, she overslept and was 2 hours late arriving. Making it worse, the staff lied to me, my husband, and family and told us her dog got skunk’ed (I know she lied because when we were talking with a golf club staff member, as soon as he hung up with her he said that she had overslept. 20 minutes later, I was told the “dog” story). Then to make it worse, when she arrived, she came to check in with me and NEVER apologized for being late. Then, between the ceremony and reception, she came up to me to remind me that the bill hadn’t been settled yet. In addition, there was a HUGE mess with the linens (see BBJ Linen’s review) which I believe could have been prevented if Karen had been on time and if the ceremony site (where the linens accidentally got delivered) had communicated with the reception site.\rOn a positive note: The golf staff was AMAZING at organizing in Karen’s absence! They went out of their way to make sure I got whatever I needed and that they room was as perfect as possible. Also, it rained that morning, so we had to move the ceremony inside – again the staff was awesome and efficient at setting up the patio for our ceremony. Cantigny refunded us the price of the linens and the price of the outdoor ceremony site which I felt was appropriate given Karen’s tardiness. \rThe food and cake were AMAZING!! I got more compliments on the cake than anything else that day. The reception was perfect from start to finish.\rIn the end, I would recommend Cantigny for a reception, just maybe not a morning wedding/afternoon reception. And check in with them if you are having rentals delivered there.

We chose Cantigny because it is beautiful. The gardens, where you can have your ceremony for an added cost, are gorgeous. If the weather holds up, your photos will be amazing, as ours were. The Red Oak Room is also a very attractive room. It doesn't look like a typical ballroom, and the panoramic windows are really nice. However, the service we received left something to be desired. All the planning meetings months before the wedding went fine, but as the wedding neared and we started to try to nail down the details, things fell apart a little. Our coordinator misplaced the record of one of our deposit checks...after it had already been deposited (she later found it but only after our prompting). She sent us invoices with the incorrect wedding date and incorrect balance. She also was not working the entire week before our wedding...which she didn't tell us until the day before she left. I know that stuff happened, but all this ended up making the planning process way more stressful than it had to be. The day of the wedding was mostly fine. The food was good, but I heard that it was somewhat inconsistent. Some people had overcooked pork. I requested that one of the vegetarian meals be cooked without carrots due to a guest with allergies...so they cooked all the vegetarian meals without carrots. I know because that's what I ordered...and I like carrots! The thing I'm probably most annoyed about is that we paid a ridiculous amount for a few specialty bottles of liquor. We ordered the most basic bar package but ordered a few special bottles for our guests with narrow tastes (i.e. the scotch drinkers). We paid something like $80 a bottle for two bottles, and when our guests asked to be served that scotch, the bartenders claimed that they had no idea what they were talking about and that they would have to pay by the glass over at the other (non-wedding) bar. Well those bottles sure as heck appeared on my invoice (which, of course, had to be prepaid before the big day) so this is really poor practice. I wish I had known of this issue at the time, because I would have had it dealt with! \r\rAnyway, we had a great time and don't regret our choice of venue, but if you're considering them, you should know that you may have to do a lot of arm twisting to get the service you have paid for.
