I do not even know where to start with how amazing this process was thanks to Lisa, Kelly, Chef Fonz and all of the other staff that went into making our day absolutely special. We were drawn to The Castle from the charm that you could feel in photographs alone. On our arrival in the summer of 2022 we met Lisa who gave us the tour. We knew immediately that we wanted our special day to be with these amazing people. On that same day we committed to a day and placed a deposit for 8/26/23. We used vendors selected by the Castle on their preferred vendor list except for our cake baker (Used a friend). These vendors were DJ Jerry Bazata, Isa & Shadow (Shadow of a Rose Photography), and Woodbury Florist. At every single turn we were impressed with these amazing folks how well they vibed as a team. Castle Hill Report provided us our dream day with every single detail in thought. We even used their Piano Player Jacob McLaughlin to play for our cocktail hour. Due to a rapid rise of inclement weather, Jacob saved the day with ceremonial music when our ceremony was moved inside. When this happened, Lisa and her staffed got our ceremony inside without a hitch and we were so thankful. In closing, we know this process can be overwhelming but when you select great vendors just let them do their thing. Try not to micromanage and get great people like these folks at Castle Hill Resort because you will be glad you did. Reviewed on 30-08-2023

I would absolutely recommend Castle Hill to anyone who asked me about wedding venues. Lisa Cormier was amazing throughout the entire process -- they have a phenomenal system that makes for a perfect day. Lisa and her team were willing to help us out with whatever we needed. Whether it was changes to chairs, tweaks to the ceremony setup, flower adjustments -- they were amazing. We did both our ceremony and reception at Castle Hill and they nailed both of them. So organized, efficient and well done. Lisa has an answer to every question you may have and knows the venue like the back of her hand. Leading up to the wedding, she was also amazing, helping us work through food questions and changes, room assignments, and really any logistical matter. She and her staff know the area and its vendors extremely well. Her recommendations and help with others we were working with made our lives all the more easier. If there was a question or topic we were forgetting, Lisa made sure we didn't. Thanks to her we never felt overwhelmed or nervous. Most importantly, the area took on historic flooding less than one week before our wedding -- Lisa was communicative and helpful through it all. She never made a rash decision or jumped to any conclusions during the process. We took it one day at a time together and we will be forever grateful for the way she handled our event in the midst of a serious weather event taking place. When they expected rain just a day or two before the wedding once again, the Castle Hill team hand dug a trench around the reception tent to drain water in case they experienced further flooding!!! I'm not sure how many venues would have worked with us to make the event run as planned, let alone dig a trench to help the tent stay dry, but Castle Hill did so without us even requesting it. They truly went above and beyond for us in every regard. Lisa and her team are absolutely amazing and I am so thankful that we had both our wedding ceremony and reception here. If you are looking to get married at a beautiful venue with incredible people helping you every step of the way, Castle Hill should be at the top of your list. There is no one better as far as we are concerned! Reviewed on 04-08-2023
Jess Slayton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2022 Our Castle Hill wedding was absolutely perfect, even with the less-than-ideal weather. To start, working with Lisa and Kelly truly made the experience. Lisa did such a great job coordinating all the details - from my vendor arrivals to moving guests along, and even handling snafus as they popped up. Because of her and Kelly's coordination, our entire bridal party was able to fully relax, enjoy the day, and not worry about the details. The Castle itself was also incredibly beautiful. Every little detail was taken care of, and we were more or less allowed to have free reign of the area to arrange it all perfectly to our vision. Having the Castle as our home base made the weekend - from hanging out in the lobby the night of the rehearsal to getting ready in the bridal suite, it was just unbelievable. The cocktail hour was held in the Castle too, so all our guests got to enjoy it's beauty. The ceremony location is gorgeous with picturesque views, and despite the light rain, there were enough trees surrounding us that we were able to pull off the planned outdoor ceremony. On top of all that, the tent was stunning - it had plenty of space, tasteful decor, and beautiful chandeliers that were statement pieces. The food was amazing. We had multiple guests tell us it was not only the best wedding food they'd had, but some even went so far as to say the filet was the best they'd EVER had. The appetizers and salads were delicious, too. We also loved the fact that nearly all of our wedding guests were able to stay on site with the Pointe and the Condos right there for our use. It made it so transportation was not something we even needed to think about. Overall, we truly are so happy we chose Castle Hill Resort and Spa for our wedding weekend. It was absolutely magical from start to finish. Reviewed on 03-08-2022
Brenda Slayton(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2022 I am the mother of the bride and I would very highly recommend this venue for the following reasons:-The castle and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, meticulous, and clean. Every room in the castle is so beautiful and the landscaping is amazing. The bridal suite is very spacious. Plenty of room to have hair and makeup done in there.-The food was incredible and plentiful; we received so many compliments such as, “best wedding food we’ve ever had!” Chef “Fonz” did an amazing job! They were very attentive to allergy issues as well.-Every single staff member was friendly, helpful, kind, and attentive. Unbelievably wonderful service from the hotel front desk, to the castle front desk, to the cleaning ladies, to the reception and breakfast servers, to the bartenders…every single staff member was lovely.-The continental breakfast was a perfect way to conclude the weekend. Plenty of food and such a lovely presentation for a nice sendoff for guests traveling home.-The castle rooms are for the wedding party or wedding guests only so it really feels like it is your own space for the weekend.-Lisa Cormier!!!! Lisa is the event coordinator who works directly with you throughout the entire process. She and her assistant Kelly, are present and on site throughout the wedding weekend. I cannot say enough good things about these two! Lisa was absolutely wonderful to work with. Very responsive, timely, knowledgeable, honest, and helpful throughout the process. When the wedding weekend arrived, I had every confidence in Lisa to carry out everything we had discussed. I’m a very detailed person who has a hard time handing over the control for a party, never mind a wedding. However, Lisa clearly understood our style and is extremely detailed herself so I felt 100% comfortable handing the control over to her. We had one, last minute potential issue with our music. Lisa informed me about it to let us know but took charge of the matter and made everything happen as we wanted. We didn’t have to worry because it was in Lisa’s hands and we knew she would take care of us. I was able to thoroughly enjoy every minute of the weekend. Kelly was also so easy to work with . She was extremely well prepared and made sure she knew everything she needed to know to carry out our wedding plan. -The day was magical… getting ready in the castle, the gorgeous areas inside and out for photos, the ceremony (although it sprinkled but that’s supposed to be good luck), the cocktail hour, the reception in the tent (beautifully set and plenty of space for lots of dancing ), the breakfast … everything was perfection in our eyes. The grounds are beautiful, there were so many flowers in the garden we didn’t even need to decorate other than centerpieces! The day of my wedding Lisa did a great job of giving us time checks as we got ready and ensured everything started without delay. She met all my vendors and helped direct them so I didn’t have to worry about running around for that.I worked extensively with Lisa who was a phenomenal help. She has a lot of experience running weddings and was very helpful during the planning process. I had a lot of family politics (as do most) and she did a great job of making it all run smoothly. Kelly is part of the team and she runs point on the wedding day after the ceremony concludes. They both had great communication skills with us, our parents, and between each other.Everything was perfect on my wedding day, Lisa’s team did a fantastic job setting up the place cards, votives and photos around the venue. One of my favorite touches were the photos that they set up around the venue to make it look like our family home. Lisa’s suggestions on wedding day specifics like getting in a group photo (highly recommended) and asking if we wanted to not be disturbed when eating - (yes she made a point of keeping both my husband and I fed and hydrated. I’ve been to plenty of wedding where the couple barely get a bite in. ) She also created a weekend timeline and had a bunch of planning resources that made the whole process easy. The food was divine. We ordered the rib eye and the maple stuffed chicken breast. Her team even made some vegan/vegetarian entrees for our guests. We had a few food allergies for one off guests and had to design a mostly gluten free menu and they did a fantastic job tailoring it to our preferences. The steak was monstrous and absolutely divine, as was the chicken, veggies, salad, and everything else! We got married in July 2021 amidst the uncertainty of COVID and Lisa was very communicative in ensuring we were aware of the changing regulations while keeping our guests safe. We had 80 guests total to stay on the safe side but I believe there capacity is 200+. Albeit our smaller wedding size, the space did not feel cavernous as they spread out the tables to fill the space. Additionally we had several budgetary constraints and Lisa worked with us to give us the wedding of our dreams without blowing our budget. I got married on September 21, 2019 and it was perfect. The venue is amazing, featuring a gorgeous Castle, and instagram-worthy tent with gorgeous chandeliers, and a garden that looks like fairies might fly out to greet you. Beyond the visual appeal of the venue, the people that work there go above and beyond to make your weekend special. Lisa was a huge draw to us choosing this venue - when we met her she was kind, yet honest about what we'd be able to do with our wedding weekend. She was easily accessible via text and email whenever I had questions throughout the year leading up to my wedding. The weekend of the wedding she was on top of everything and my day-of coordinator, Kelly, was equally as prepared. We had a huge wedding with close to 200 people and everything went off without a hitch! The food was amazing - just as good as the day we did taste tests! Every single server on staff was super sweet and accommodating. We have a sick uncle who had to go back to his room after the ceremony, and the staff sent the reception meal down to his room at the Pointe Hotel! If that's not going above and beyond, I don't know what is. I was also a very hands-on bride and they were completely okay with that! We booked the date two years in advance and Lisa could not have been a more dedicated coordinator. She answers emails right away and is prompt in helping anyone who calls. My parents or in laws would call and she would talk with them right a way. There are a lot of rules at castle hill which can be a pain to work through but at the end of th day, it was all worth it. The castle was an amazing place to stay the weekend of our wedding. The staff were also amazing and helpful. The ceremony location was more beautiful than imagined. There are flowers all over and the backdrop is amazing. The only thing is that the chairs were set up on one side and the guests could not see my husband and I. The cocktail hour was in th castle and the food was great. We also had a pianist to play music throughout the cocktail hour. The reception was out in the tent, which is behind the castle. The tent is brand new and it is perfect. The tables were set up nicely and we had a bump out in the back for a second bar. The food was to die for. We had fillet mignon and maple stuffed chicken. Everyone said the food was amazing. We wish we could have had a choice of 3 meals but the 2 worked out well. We got our cake from Irene's cakes in ludlow and it was the best cake I ever tasted and it looked great as well. I do not remember of the associate's name who assisted me while there, but she was very nice and thorough and knowledgeable, and as we got to talking she mentioned she was getting married later in 2014 which of course I was so happy to hear! She was spectacular! My nails lasted for about 3-3.5 weeks, my toes a bit longer. There were a few missed spots on my legs but that was okay I just did not want to have to be shaving constantly while in Montreal the following week. I do also recall that it was a bit of a long walk up a hill to the spa from the main parking area down below, so I exacerbated my sprained ankle at the time (my own fault for moving furniture into a new apartment about 2 weeks before the wedding-I don't recommend that). I hope to go back again and try the pool next time as it is heated too!\r\rAs for the restaurant and the hotel, haven't eaten or stayed at either yet but we go up every summer in July so we may at some point. Our family friends went to the restaurant for their one year wedding anniversary about 4 years back and they said the food was great. \r\rI saw someone's recent review that was disappointed in lack of cell service here...um, it's Vermont, that's kind of the point of getting away you know? I find it liberating! Despite this, cell reception has gotten better in the Ludlow/Okemo region the last few years, I have Verizon and I've noticed now it's really really tough to completely remove your cell off the grid as of 2015. We can't say enough about the beautiful grounds, facilities, the wonderful food, and the excellent service we got for our wedding weekend. Lisa Cormier, wedding facilitator extraordinaire, was awesome throughout. Very easy to work with, excellent recommendations on every detail (including tips that saved us from needless costs), and the execution by Lisa C and the entire staff all weekend was flawless. Special note: we were forced indoors by an all-day driving rain, so our garden wedding was washed out. So what? They turned the indoor facility into a wonderfully intimate and romantic site for our ceremony. It really couldn't have been any better. \r\rMy favorite story of the weekend was this one: about 1 hour before the wedding, we got word that our band was stuck on the road. Lisa C took over those communications with the band coordinator, and without even asking, had a bourbon on the rocks in my hand to splash down my frustration/anger/Âanxiety. While I was envisioning a reception with our guests dancing around an ipod, all was being handled. (The band showed and all went well).\r\rThe reception was fantastic. The food was three cuts above the usual wedding fare. Compliments to the chef! Everything was perfectly prepared and served to our guests. The facility was gorgeous. Etc etc! We haven't stopped receiving compliments from our guests!\r\rOne more point: the accommodations for us, our wedding party, and our guests were excellent. Lots of options. Rooms in the castle for the wedding party. Condos up the hill for people with families. And, the hotel down the hill for couples and smaller parties. All within walking distance of the ceremony, reception, and all the resort's facilities. My new wife is nagging me (ha ha) to add this: the spa/salon on-site was excellent, and very convenient for the gals' hair, makeup, etc. pre-wedding. I think I saw a few of our guests sneaking in there for a massage too. Perfect all around!\r\rMy best compliment for the resort, and tip to future couples: don't over-plan. Lisa C and the rest of the staff are highly competent, know their facility better than we possibly could, and they've done many many weddings there. Just Jerry McGuire them: \"help them help you,\" let it happen, and everything will turn out great. We were relaxed all weekend, and had tons of fun with our guests, just like we wanted.\r\rIf you're considering a wedding, consider this beautiful place and these great people. You won't regret it! THey accommodated our large bridal party plus the mothers and grandmothers! That's 12 people in one morning! They worked with each of the girls to create different hair styles, all of which looked stunning. My hair trial went well and they even re-did my hair for the rehearsal dinner- though I wish I had known before that doing that would cost extra. The prices are a bit high but they are one of two spas in the area and the closest to our venue. I think it was worth the cost though- as we all got to sit in the massage chairs while waiting turns, when three of the girls got lost and missed their appointments they were still able to squeeze them in without holding me up at all. My hair and makeup looked absolutely perfect! It was a lot more makeup than I ever wear and I was nervous about that- but my face looked absolutely FLAWLESS in every photo and withstood endless sweating after dancing all night! My hair looked soft and textured without coming apart either, and it didn't feel tight and painful like some styles. They also let us use the nail polishes and tools to touch up our nails while we were in and around the spa. Ali Robidoux(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2010 The Castle Hill Resort and Spa is a beautiful place to have a wedding...but the buck stops there. \rThe tent is gorgeous, and the grounds, while small, are very well taken care of. I was pleased to find a place that offered a large tent and a historical location. \rCocktail hour happens inside the Castle and the reception is held in a large tent which is draped in white fabric. The tent stands from May until October and it's kept extremely clean.\rYou're required to take all ten rooms in the Castle itself. This is both a blessing (no outside guests) and a curse (it's expensive!). \rOverall, I found the service at the Castle to be very disappointing. The level of care, detail and attention that they put into weddings is the same for everyone, it doesn't matter if you're spending top dollar or are on a budget. I had a few special requests that they flat out were not willing to work with. It's very much a cookie-cutter experience. The food is just okay, and while I had some tweaks to the menu that I wanted to incorporate, they just weren't enthusiastic to make changes and work with my ideas.\rAs far as timeline and details you may have your heart set on, you're really at the mercy of the sales director, who isn't a very flexible person. She is mostly working to make her boss, not her brides, happy. This was incredibly frustrating. I had wanted to do a few special things that simply are not allowed and some ideas that I had to make the day flow more smoothly were met with much resistance. It got to the point where I was so fed up I wanted to hire a private day of coordinator, but I was discouraged by the sales director. In hindsight, I wish I had hired a private day of coordinator, because I did not receive the kind of care and attention that I needed. \rAt the Castle, you are assigned a day of coordinator who does not work with you until the day of the wedding, and while she is extremely professional and very organized, it can be a bit off putting to hand the evening over to someone you do not know and have not worked with. Additionally, she works for the Castle, not for you, so you're not receiving the kind of service, care and attention I think brides need on their wedding day. This is the biggest party of your life, and trust me, it gets hectic and the decisions to be made should serve you and your guests, NOT the place where you decide to have your wedding.
