I contacted a bunch of different venues around 11pm one random night and to my surprise Anne emailed me back right away. I quickly set up a meeting to see the venue and immediately fell in love. Eileen showed us the place she was so over the top friendly and felt so familiar we booked right away! We wanted to get married on the water but also stay inside. The big beautiful bay windows surrounding the place made a wonderful view now matter where you stood. The planning portal they providing made it a breeze and stress free to set up my tables, processional etc. Tracy was my rock star helping me pick out my center pieces linen/table choices (they had so many options) not to mention we where able to sample all the delicious food choices. Any time leading up to the wedding I was able to reach my dream team any time of day! Eileen ended up being my day of coordinator and let me tell you what she felt like family at this point she put so much love and care into my wedding day making sure everything was perfect. Every little detail was absolutely perfect if anything went wrong I could not tell the team at Celebrations made sure my day was flawless! Thank you for my dream wedding from my dream team! We got married in the Chesapeake Ballroom at Celebrations At The Bay in April 2023. From the initial consultation to the the minute we packed up and left the venue, everything went super smoothly! Everybody was so helpful and the day was flawless! Mother Nature helped provide us with a beautiful evening for our outdoor ceremony. The setting on the water was perfect. Our day of coordinator was great. The apps were all amazing and the crab cake was worthy of being called a “Maryland style crab cake”. Great communication, great planning. My wedding on the Tented Vista side of Celebrations was amazing, even with the rain all day. My coordinator and I made the decision to have the ceremony inside instead of outside and Celebrations converted the tent into our ceremony area quickly and smoothly. We had an amazing experience with Catering by uptown. From the very beginning of our wedding planning process, they had so much to offer. Their packages include things like linens and china, making for one less vendor and one less detail to worry about. They have multiple venues around Maryland, ranging to accommodate the wedding of your dreams, intimate weddings for a few guests or grand weddings for a couple hundred guests! We chose the Tented Vista Ballroom at Celebrations at the Bay for the beautiful view overlooking the water, and the classy and spacious tented ballroom. The whole staff is extremely kind and clearly passionate about what they do. Anne was very helpful with honoring our budget, factoring in venue, guest count, day of event, and all the various packages they offer. Ya-Maila always responded to my emails full of questions in a timely manner and with kindness, patience, and excitement. Eileen (our day of coordinator) won us over from the first day we met when we toured the different venues at Celebrations at the Bay and our love and appreciation for her grew. Eileen was flexible and worked very well with our other vendors, and she maintained her positivity and enthusiasm through every interaction we had with her. Eileen and the wait staff were very attentive to us, making sure we had food and drink whenever we wanted or needed. The whole planning team worked with us for any special requests we had and executed everything perfectly. Celebrations at the Bay was a great venue and did almost everything for the wedding day! It was so nice to have them do all the setting up and tearing down which allows you to really just enjoy your wedding day with no worries. Our day of coordinator and her crew Alma, Diana, Andrea, and Sulmi are what made my wedding perfect. They were so sweet and respectful. They went above and beyond throughout the entire wedding. I really wanted to have a great experience with Catering by Uptown, but unfortunately, they did not deliver. That being said, not everything was bad, thus the 3 stars. Some positives: the venue (Anchor Inn) was stunning and a great place for an outdoor wedding. Our day-of coordinator was amazing, professional and timely, making sure everything went smoothly. Finally, at the beginning of our process, our assigned coordinator was great. Now onto the negatives. About 6 months before our wedding, they informed us our assigned planner would be switched. Which we had no problem with. However, as the wedding got closer, we started to run into some problems. He was not responsive at all to our emails. We would need to send him 2-3 emails just to get 1 question answered. It seemed like every time we sent one, an automatic \"thanks for your email\" response would be sent and then nothing else. He also could not get our guest count straight. We had 131 adults and 2 children, and I clearly communicated that in an email. I then received a phone call from him asking to clarify- which I did, no problem. He sent us the final invoice and we paid it. He then called me again, asking the same exact question about the guest count, as if our previous conversation never happened. Both calls I had to take while at work and it was frustrating that I had to explain multiple times- especially AFTER I PAID THE INVOICE!Finally, we had a plan to meet to discuss some things a week before the wedding. Long story short, we had a simple miscommunication in that I thought we were supposed to meet at the office in Beltsville, he thought we were meeting at the actual venue (even though I have email proof that he said meet in Beltsville). Even then, I wasn't mad about it, things like this happen. However, when he called me to ask where I was, he was extremely condescending saying how I was wrong and he told me to meet at the venue. It made me, the bride, feel like crap a week before my wedding. I was extremely upset, and even if I was in the wrong, there was no reason to be as nasty as he was. So all in all, there were positives and negatives. If you do book with Catering by Uptown, I would be sure you and your planner are on the same page if you don't want to be treated like crap. We had plans on getting married at the bayfront we really like the view everything was beautiful but things happen Covid jobs life ect. Ann if you get the chance to meet her she is simple amazing she keep me calm we found another way to make our wedding still happen (anniversary twins now) she always worked with me and was always there when needed even though it was her wedding anniversary she still checked in on me the day of which really means a lot! Then I got the chance to meet Esther one of the most nicest person We had the pleasure of meet as well very laid back very good energy to be around and I appreciate her showing me the knollview house and we FELL IN LOVE. Tracy was our point of contact up to the wedding and I know I definitely over did the questions and emails but she was there for me and my now husband on every single question we had she made sure we understood And got back to us right away! Lastly my day of coordinator <3 Helen thank you I think I spoke with you for a short period of time the day before and I was worried i needed everything to be perfect and when I say everything was done exactly how I wanted there wasn’t ONE thing she forgot she made sure I was ok she checked on us throughout the night she made sure I was personally ok I saw her enjoying herself and I have pictures of her in the background smiling from ear to ear just to see us happy enjoying moments that she knew were important to us. I really hope each and everyone of you know how special you all are and how thankful We are for catering by uptown. Sorry for the lengthy review but I had to give individual thanks! First off, our guests had a great time, and everyone enjoyed themselves and the food! The venue is absolutely gorgeous with great views! Unfortunately, there were some hiccups, that likely only us as the wedding couple were aware of. First off, our planner leading up to the wedding was not super responsive, she would take several days to respond to an email, however her communication turn around time improved as we got within a few weeks of the wedding. In addition, the day of coordinator was unfortunately not prepared. It was hard to get ahold of her days before the wedding, and although I called and left her voicemails, she would only text me back short answers. I'm not sure if the lack of information is on her, or the company, but she did not have any of our updated paperwork that we completed 30-days prior to our event. I honestly think this is in part to her not communicating with me prior to the day of. Had she called me back, we could of gone over any last minute details. Instead, she waited until the day of the wedding to ask me questions. Therefore, she did not have the ceremony line up, escort information, bridal party entrance information, correct set up information, etc. However, we were lucky enough that our officiant and DJ came to the rescue and ensured everything went smoothly. Second of all, the servers did not use the names/table numbers, that were provided for specialty meals for those with dietary restrictions/allergies. Therefore, servers were serving the wrong meals to guests, and not everyone with specific dietary restrictions were served the proper meal. At one point, servers had come up to me as the bride a few times to ask who should get the special meal, and I felt like that should have been an issue for our day of coordinator, who I was told would oversee the catering. Third, the servers poured our kid table wine. Granted our kids ranged from 4 years old to 17 years old, but my 12 year old son, who was enjoying a kids meal, as well as other children (some being younger than 12) at the table were asked if they wanted red or white, and several of the children at the table were served wine. Thankfully, a guest caught this after a few of the kids had already taken sips, but it's completely irresponsible of the servers to serve children of that age wine. In addition, I thought we as the bridal couple would be served our food when we were seated, but unfortunately, our food was placed at the sweetheart table while we were walking around, and when we returned to our seats it was ice cold. I wish a server had let us know they were delivering our food, so we could have enjoyed it warm. In addition, we were told that the mini desserts we had purchased as an extra would be served family style and a tray would be placed at each table. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and no one was aware that there were mini desserts sitting on a table somewhere. Our day of coordinator went to me as the bride when she needed contact information for our transportation vendor. That information was provided in my paperwork, which she did not seem to have. So all in all, the venue is gorgeous, our guests and vendors, as well as us, had a great time, but there were some misses that I think CBU can work on specifically when it comes to the coordinator being prepared and the catering. I had my wedding November 4th 2021 and my guesses absolutely RAVED about service. Especially the food and the bartender! When we ended up running behind schedule Neicy worked her tail off to make up for lost time to make sure we had plenty of time to party. She delivered and was on it to make sure everything went Ase smoothly as possible. Having an all inclusive venue took soooo much stress off of me. Finding a venue and food separately gets insanely pricey. And sometimes food quality suffers when vendors have to travel to a venue with no kitchen. Quality was superb since the chefs were on site! Through the entire planning process we felt supported, informed and as if our wants were priority. The day of was magical and truly seemless. Amy was our day of coordinator and took care of timing, any unforeseen issues, made sure my husband and I had appetizers and drinks and truly was a great addition to our day. The staff were amazing and so welcoming. I don’t have a single complaint - it was the perfect day I dreamed of for so long. The food and cake were excellent. They followed the allergies/restrictions I put in for people perfectly. The planning process was easy since it is all inclusive you just follow what the planner they give you asks and you give her an answer with what you want. It included everything from besides the dj/band, flowers, photographer/videographer, and any extra little things want like a guest book, memory table, extra decorations then ones they already have. You get a day of coordinator too who was awesome and did a perfect job keeping the flow of the day. Always asking if we needed anything! The coordinators and planners were the best! She was on top of everything, answered all of our silly questions and made our day as easy as possible (and made sure we were fed)! Guests will not stop talking about how incredible all the food was, the lobster bisque and crab cakes were a big hit! From the first visit and meeting with Anne, to the end of our wedding, CBU was top notch! We had to reschedule and replan through the COVID pandemic. I heard horror stories about other venues who were not working with couples, and really leaving them in the dark. This was the exact oppostie of what we experienced. They took time to answer all of my questions, worked with me on the guest list and changes and found a new date that worked for us. When I say it was perfect- our day truly was perfect. Cassidy was the absolute best planner, and day of coordinator EVER... seriously EVER!!! She and the whole staff were so helpful supportive and they ran the show!Look no further- you have found your perfect wedding venue- I can't thank the whole team at Catering by Uptown enough, especially Anne and Cassidy (who I worked with the most). Nervous about everything going smoothly but the entire staff of Catering by Uptown made sure of that. The food was very exquisite and delicious. Shonda was very knowledgeable and was able to give us advice and ideas that we loved. Messi was my wedding coordinator and she has a heart of gold. We met only 4 days before my wedding but it felt like I knew her for a lifetime. She truly paid attention to every detail. She was patient with me and I could tell that she was truly happy for us. This is important to have a genuine person coordinating everything because they become as personally invested in the success of your day. The MC even took time out to acknowledge Messi and the catering staff as their hard work and professionalism was very evident. Ashley Benson(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-12-2019 READ THIS IN FULL. If you decide to go with this venue you MUST make sure that your day of coordinator is AMY. Put it in the contract. She is INCREDIBLE. I used to be an event planner- it’s a really tough job and burnout is a thing. Amy has being doing this for YEARS and still hasn’t lost her sparkle! Food was very good and the venue is gorgeous! THAT SAID— the planning process was painful. Their sales team is good at their job and will give you unrealistic expectations. My impression is that most weddings they put on are very cookie cutter. They were not prepared to work with a bride who was very detail oriented with high expectations. Getting what I wanted was like pulling teeth. I paid for open bar. They wanted to charge me to have champagne passes for toasts. They wanted to charge me to allow my vendors more than two hours of setup time. Two hrs is not nearly enough time for a florist to properly set up. In the end I was not charged for these items however I’d confidently say it’s because they knew how upset I was throughout the planning process and didn’t want to deal with me any more. Also-FYI the rehearsal doesn’t come with your contract. It’s an additional fee. Apparently people don’t do rehearsals anymore is what I was told. Again. They ended up waiving this fee after a tough conversation. I had to be a bridezilla to get what I wanted. Would have been much less stressful from the get go if their planning team wasn’t so intent on producing a cookie cutter wedding. Seems like a lot of them had lost their sparkle. Props again to Amy. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank her enough for saving the day and putting me at ease. I wish I could have worked with her throughout the planning process. I’d give her 10 stars if I could. Since day one of speaking with them, they were kind, professional, diligent and catered to our every need. During the process, Cassidy and Anne helped us with the venue information, showing and food tasting. Alma was assigned to us as our \"Day of Coordinator\" and she was great! She helped out with everything from the timing of the event, to decorations, minor details - you name it- she was on top of it. She kept telling us \"Your job is to have the best day ever and my job is to take care of everything else!\" :)The venue itself was absolutely gorgeous! We chose the Chesapeake Ballroom but for whatever reason, the venue next door was not being used- so we did our Bridal Party photos there as the rest of the guests came in for the ceremony. That really worked out nicely! The ceremony was held out back overlooking the water and it was absolutely gorgeous! The reception was inside and was the perfect size for 125 guests. Our first look was on the dock overlooking the water and it was literally a storybook moment. To top if all off, we were treated to a full rainbow across the entire bay as we were taking photos! Having a rainbow in our photos at such a beautiful venue- there are simply no words....The food was absolutely amazing! All of our guests kept commenting on just how good the food was. As the bride and groom, we were well cared for, constantly having Hors d'oeuvres & appetizers handed to us before the big meal. This was a huge plus- as we are always hungry! The beautiful view was fantastic and the overall property was charming with tons of great photo spots! Cocktail hour was on their large wrap around porch and dinner felt cozy inside, with plenty of room for everyone and still with that great view. Once the dancing started guests were able to mill throughout but still feel in the midst of everything. The staff was quick and took care of everything, making it all go seamlessly. The actual planning process was also very smooth, with one simple meeting to decide the food and look we wanted, and them doing the rest. Our guests cannot stop raving about how beautiful the venue was, how amazing the food was, and overall how perfect the whole night was. During the course of the night, my husband's glasses were mistakenly thrown away, and the staff actually went dumpster diving to find them for us! Saved us a big bill getting them replaced! He has another business which is his priority so he rarely returned phone calls. When he showed at wedding, although he never acknowledged my husband and I, he was on time and played all the songs we requested. Other than being questioned 3 days before weeding on amount due when we already paid, was a great experience! Pictures were edited and recieved within a week.Did not assign a \"day of coordinator \" until 4 days beforeThe lady who was the \"go to\" before week of, ya answered basic questions and sent pictures but otherwise why assign a coordinator who won't be there the day of? Researching wedding venues was a headache, and as soon as we began met with Catering by Uptown, I quickly realized how different they would be. From Breanna, our salesperson who was our initial contact and who made us feel so comfortable, to Cindy in planning who is absolutely OUTSTANDING and was extremely responsive to my 2940574387 questions, to our day of coordinator Brittany who made sure every single aspect of my vision came true and our day ran smoothly, I cannot say enough great things about this team. The overall service was top notch, and you can tell everyone is true professional. On top of everything else, the food was AMAZING, and we are still hearing rave reviews from our family and friends. They were also able to add our preferred alcohol and beers to the premium liquor list, allowing us to ensure that our two Irish families would not be thirsty ;) The catering by uptown team makes wedding planning, which is stressful enough in itself, much more manageable by having everything (food, booze, cake, linens, place settings, lighting, etc.) all included which removes the headache of keeping track of tons of different vendors. I sent in a request for information, had a call back later that day, and made an appointment to see the venue the very next day. The moment we arrived, we knew it was THE place. Ann helped us through the sales process, and she was amazing every step of the way. She used the word magical to describe a wedding at Celebrations, and that is exactly how I would describe it. You receive a planning coordinator to help with your tasting, linens, etc. We had Katie who was sweet and very helpful. You also receive a day of coordinator. Katie helped transition to Olivia - who made sure our day was perfect. Celebrations made for a wedding that my husband and I, and our guests will never forget. The food, the view, the atmosphere - everything is amazing. When I was at Celebrations, waiting for the ceremony to start - Olivia came to talk to me about the plan to walk into the ceremony - a puddle had formed there because of all the recent rain...and she wanted to talk through the concern and my options. However, I really wanted to walk straight through the door and down the aisle. Her and a bridesmaid went to look at it together, and I don't know what happened but when they came back - I was told it was gone! Couldn't have been happier with the whole day! Savannah talked us into looking at their newest venue even though we only had an appointment to look at 1 venue. We walked in and fell in love. We booked it that day! Our wedding planner reached out to us in no time. She made planning a breeze. I could email her anytime even late, early, or the weekend and she would reply in 10-15 min. That surely puts a bride at ease. The wait staff and bartender were amazing. professional and so friendly. Congratulating me the entire time and you could tell they meant it. constant smiles and actually enjoying what they were there to do. Last, Brittany the DOC rocked it. She amazed me with how quickly she set up and took everything down. She took notes on exactly what I wanted to make sure that I was getting everything I wanted. Not only did I get everything I wanted i got much more. She took pics and sent them to me the next day so I could enjoy some before the professional ones came back. She was my point of contact the year leading up to the wedding (and I planned this all from out of state). She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and helpful. I met with her to do a taste-testing of the menu and the food was incredible. She highly recommended we keep the lobster bisque martinis and boy am I glad we did!! We still have guests talking to us about that!!! Cindy literally made changes to our event as we spoke and followed up on every single detail without hesitation. I was very impressed with her ability to remember everything. While I knew she was working with several brides, she made me feel like I was her sole priority with every email and phone call. I was so attached to her that I didn't really want to be handed over to my day-of coordinator. But my day of coordinator, Amie Liebman was FANTASTIC too!!! She worked that entire wedding night like a complete professional and all I saw was her running around and making things happen. A woman after my own heart!! Aimee kept the night running so smooth and asked me questions throughout the night about what I would like to do next. She was so flexible and truly dedicated to making sure my husband and I were happy and taken care of. I felt so spoiled to have such an amazing professional to help carry the night into perfection. I literally have nothing bad to say about my experience with Celebrations At The Bay and their staff. I wish I could do that night over again to feel the magic of it all one more time!! From the outside the front drive it doesn’t look like much, but when you are out on the dock/ballroom the views make it. Pricing at the venue is a little steep, and they claim to not have a rental fee, but it’s really just built into the per person price. It is nice that everything is included though. They also say you can’t show up until 5:30pm the day of your wedding but we showed up early for pictures and no one said anything. But that may be because there wasn’t another wedding before us. During the planning process it was EXTREMELY difficult to get a response back, I would have to email numerous times or copy the general email address in order to get a response. Our pre contact Sandra and I went back and forth via email too many times to count about things that were finalized on previous emails or during our face to face. It got really bad with responses once we were 2-3 weeks out. When things should have been finished up, but they weren’t. And they STILL got part of our menu wrong the day of the wedding. And our cake was not like the picture we showed them, we weren’t picky about it so it didn’t matter. But if you are picky, make sure to be more detailed then! Our day of person was Kathy, and she was fantastic! When I met with Kathy a couple days prior I informed her how displeased we had been working with the venue thus far and she assured me everything would go smoothly and it did! The day of our wedding it rained and poured the entire day and night, but luckily there wasn’t another wedding going on next door so we were able to host our ceremony in the tented area and then our reception in the ballroom. Throughout the wedding, it was extremely nice to have people ask us if we needed anything! In a time where you are meeting and talking to a lot of people, you typically don't have the time to grab a bite or drink but they came to us and provided whatever we needed! It worked out great! We chose the Celebrations at the Bay venue and fell in love with it at first sight. Having the planning staff from Catering By Uptown there every step of the way throughout the whole planning process made wedding planning so much easier. They responded to every question I had within a few hours every time. We loved and appreciated our day of coordinator, Eileen LaPlanche. She was absolutely amazing! She made the day of run smoothly and made me, the bride, feel so comfortable. We were just about an hour out from my ceremony time when we realized that may hair (down and curled) was becoming flat and the top of my dress was gapping just a bit too much. Without hesitation, Eileen ran to the store and got me two choices of garment tape and a curling iron. She kept my mom apprised of how much longer she would be in order to keep me calm and happy throughout the hour before I walked down the aisle. Our wedding was almost a year ago and I was hoping we would be able to have a one-year anniversary dinner which I thought might be an odd request, but they didn't even bat an eye. Shonda was so responsive and quick to set it up for us. Most places would be \"done\" with you after the big day, but not Catering by Uptown! The food is the most delicious wedding food I've ever had; so much that I have craved my wonderful meal for a whole year. My guests STILL can't stop talking about the venue, food, service, everything! Celebrating our anniversary last night was amazing and we really enjoyed reminiscing about our wonderful wedding day and eating the most delicious food that I've pretty much craved for a whole year :). Katie England(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2017 We just got married on June 23rd with a ceremony outside and reception in the Tented Vista Ballroom. It was perfect and everything we imagined it would be thanks to our day of coordinator Amy. It was wonderful to have selected a location that provided so much for us, linens, beautiful standard chairs, table settings, day of coordinator, cake, absolutely delicious food. It was a great almost completely one stop shop. However, during planning it was very frustrating working with their staff. What we were promised during our sales pitch we were then told could not happen once we began working with the planning team, we were able to argue to get the things we were promised but it took months of back and forth. If you'd like to do something a little untraditional the staff really pushed to have it be more traditional, made it hard to stand your ground for what you would like for your day. The process was much more stressful then necessary, truly the thing that saved our wedding was our day of coordinator Amy. She ensured the day went off without a hitch, contacted us 2 weeks out from the wedding, set up a time for us to come to the venue and drop off all of our decorations, and truly understand what we were looking for. She even helped to put out fires with our DJ who just could not keep our details straight. She is the reason why we had an excellent wedding, the planning staff is the reason we were stressed leading up to the wedding. Reviewed on 11-07-2017

She even had the majority of our things packed and ready to go at the end of the night! The food was very good and the cake looked beautiful. The ambiance and water views were beyond gorgeous. The staff was friendly and attentive and Eileen even managed to get our favorite bottle of wine for us! The only concerns we had was a mix up In our cake flavor (which was one we did not like or order) and some of the special meals got mixed up. It was absolutely breath taking. The food was super delicious. (I'm still getting compliments from guests about the food.) It was very convenient that they handled so many details that allowed us to focus on other things of the day. They took care of the food, cake, linens and chairs and of course provided the amazing scenery that we will never forget. The planning people were a little difficult getting in touch with throughout the process which was a little stressful at times. But everything came together on wedding day perfectly. Not only do they provide beautiful venues on the Chesapeake Bay, but you can also hire them to cater any venue of your choosing. We chose Celebrations at the Bay before we realized that we would get Catering by Uptown along with it! Best decision we made for our wedding! The food tasting within itself took up an entire evening and included tasting all the hor' devours they made, along with a dual entree to try. It was all extremely delicious, that wasn't even everything they had to offer! We received a big booklet containing every single option they had (we went with the filet and cake) and our guests were not disappointed, ourselves included! Everyone and I mean EVERYONE absolutely LOVED the food! To this day they keep talking about how amazing everything tasted.They even have wedding coordinators who are on point! They helped to make sure our dream wedding come to life! Sandra was our coordinator, and she was AH-MAZING! I am a very particular person and was an extremely particular bride, I had a vision and Sandra helped bring it to life! She even hand picked the staff so that our day would run as smoothly as possible. Showed us around the venue, gave us very detailed information with what Catering by Uptown has to offer.. she is so personable and thorough with giving her tours. Catering by uptown will make our wedding planning extremely easy since we only have to take care of DJ, florist, officiant and photographer. Everything else is included with them. Celebrations is such a spectacular venue with an amazing view of the water as the perfect background for the event. I can't wait to pick out our menu from tons of different options and put together our decor with their multiple linen choices. I'm sure everything will come together just as we are imagining. The most recent wedding I have filmed in Maryland, had been coordinated by a wonderful team of Catering by Uptown. RIMAS FILMS can recommend this wedding coordinator as the ceremony and the reception ran very smoothly with the help of Catering by Uptown. The waiting staff was amazing too: very polite, quite prompt and always smiling. Transition from ceremony to reception was simple and fast. Shonda and Laura were both absolutely phenomenal to work with through the planning process and day of. I never felt like questions were unanswered or details left open. I felt like they were friends of the family by the end of the wedding and we just couldn't have been happier with our experience. We had extreme heat the day of our wedding and I never once felt an minute of stress about it because i knew that it would be handled and moved inside if needed by our day of staff. Tiny details were remembered and executed that were discussed in off hand conversations. The staff at uptown/celebrations picked up on everything and it just made us all feel so special. Our guests with special dietary needs raved about the attention made to them to make sure they were comfortable and taken care of. Even after the wedding was over the level of care and detail continued. We had our top tier of our wedding cake damaged on the way home from the wedding and without a beat celebrations contacted us with a new top tier ( completed with the same ribbon we had on it and piping ). The entire staff from top to bottom at Celebrations made our wedding day something so special and stress free. Its a great venue and I highly recommend it. We had our reception at the waterfront Anchor Inn. From the planning process to the actual day of event everything was perfect.Anne was my day of coordinator and she was truly like a fairy God mother. She made sure every aspect of our reception was perfect! She literally catered to my every need. The food was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was professional and attentative. Every guest commented at how professional and courteous they were. Our bar tender was sweet, cheerful and fun! It was truly the perfect package.I was pretty upset the week leading up to the wedding as the weather forecast called for rain all day and night the day of my wedding. I was so upset as I had dreamt about having beautiful photos on the pier. Anne assured me even if we did get bad weather we would still be able to get beautiful pictures as one deck is covered and she helped me see my day would still be perfect. We dropped off all of our supplies and Anne took care of making sure my mini pumpkin place settings were taken care of and looked fantastic. Luckily the day of it didn't rain, when I arrived at the Anchor Inn Anne was waiting there for me with a glass of wine and a hug, she told me I looked beautiful and reassured me that this night was going to be perfect. She made sure every guest was catered to as if that were royalty. I don't have a single bad thing to say about Catering by Uptown or my venue The Anchor Inn. It was truly a perfect day. day. Anonymous (bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2016 Just got married. Celebrations at the Bay is beautiful. Couldn't ask for a better view. However, beware with the planning process. Considering the price we had to pay, after our planning meeting where we picked out our food, cake flavors and linens, they lost it all. 2 weeks before the wedding we had to re-create all of it from memory. It was extremely disorganized. The morning of the wedding, all the table linens were the wrong color (had they been properly written down during the planning meeting, this would not have happened). Thankfully, one of the caterers arranged to have them swapped out to match the actual wedding colors. At the planning meeting, they said not to match the head table to the bridesmaids, and at the reception, my bridesmaids were blue and their table was blue. Some guests who had food allergies were not given the proper dishes even though they were specified on the planning website. Our day of coordinator was extremely rude to our DJ and adamantly told the mother-of-the- bride the whole wedding needed \"to leave\" at 4:00 when we were originally told 4:30. While we had guests still there, they were taking down all the decorations and linens. She was very impatient. Again, beautiful venue and the food was delicious, but what a stressful process for the money. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because it's on the bay and the venue itself is pretty. The food and service is nothing short of awesome. The planning staff (Miranda Clark) and day of coordinator (Elisabeth Olateau) were terrific to work with and made sure that everything was thoroughly and well planned and executed smoothly. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was an memorable event for our daughter and son in law. Planning web-site is very helpful in lining all the little details up and easy to use. Food selection for the cocktail hour and dinner is very extensive and all of it good. The tasting/planning session was very helpful and a fun not to mention delicious event by itself. We also used many of the parent company (Catering By Uptown) preferred vendors: Maher Florist, Hampton Inn BWI as base hotel, and DJ Delights. Tom Gavin at DJ Delights in particular was awesome and really kept the party going. Everyone was up and dancing the whole night. A great experience. Reviewed on 05-06-2016

We received a ton of compliments on it & it was well worth the money. It was definitely one of the highlights of our day. Also, the actual venue of Celebrations at the Bay was absolutely gorgeous. If you want a wedding on the water this is a great spot (although we had a rainy day which no one can control). Now onto the downsides. Overall communication with the venue went OK, however there were a few times that I had to reiterate things I had already asked for and I'm glad that I made sure everything was in writing. Additionally, they stated that a day of coordinator would be provided for the wedding. I was told that our day of coordinator would be assigned two weeks before the wedding & she would coordinate the details of our day with us. I am beyond happy that I had hired our florist as our day of coordinator because I just had a bad feeling about the venue actually following through on their day of coordinator promise that was in the contract. I did not hear from the venue coordinator until TWO days before our wedding. Even then, she had no idea about the details of our day even though they were all listed on our planning website. That same evening (two days before our wedding) I received an email from another venue employee, that I had previously been in contact with, at 9:30 pm asking if were scheduled to do a wedding rehearsal. I was shocked & worried, as I had booked 45 days out (and paid $300) to do a rehearsal the day before our wedding (Friday). Between that and the fact that the day of coordinator did not really know what she was coordinating, I was unimpressed with their communication skills. If I had not already hired an additional coordinator I would have been stressed out of my mind and this review probably would have been much worse. Overall I would recommend this venue as long as you hire your own coordinator and are sure to communicate everything to the venue in writing. Reviewed on 31-05-2016

Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our planning process. The day of our wedding was extremely hectic because it ended up pouring all morning before our ceremony. Because of the rain our event coordinator set up our ceremony inside the ballroom until my husband came about 20 minutes before our ceremony and asked her to change plans since it was supposed to stop raining. Our coordinator was very helpful and she quickly had the staff set up the deck and break down the ballroom. However, because of all of this there were things that definitely went wrong. There are two things I would suggest doing if you decide to book with Celebration. First definitely pay the extra money to have a day of wedding planner. They told us in our sales meeting that we wouldn't need one with the event coordinator, but I feel like the things that went wrong would have been caught if we had hired a day of planner. The second thing I would suggest doing is making sure you go over every small detail you want for your layout and linens. I made a detailed floor plan with labels where everything went and they used the wrong linens on half our tables and placed our centerpieces in the wrong spots. \rAlso, FYI in our initial sales meeting we were told in the event of rain they would divide the ballroom in half with pipe and drape. If we had of had our ceremony inside that wouldn't have happened. They had lined both sides of the room with our reception tables and set up chairs in the middle. \rAside from the small details a bride worries over everything about our wedding was wonderful. I didn't worry at all because she was on top of everything. She went above and beyond to help give us a perfect wedding. She was so helpful and even took all of our ceremony floral arrangements to decorate the reception space, making the most out of our beautiful flowers. The food was great and the venue was beautiful. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, which gave us an amazing view of the water and sunset. I would definitely recommend Celebrations to anyone looking for a beautiful venue. Rubi Chung(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-07-2014 - was passed along to different members of the planning team, with no communication between them at all. was promised certain things on the day of the wedding which they did not fulfill (one of our contacts was fired, another quit. we only found out after numerous attempts to contact them)\r- on the day of the wedding, the wedding party from the afternoon on the other side of the venue should have cleared out. yet they took up the entire parking lot with no where for my vendors and guests to park. the best part is that they used our restrooms and left their belongings in the bridal suite\r- there were no drinks waiting for us when we arrived (as promised). had to ask several times for drinks and food even after the wedding, which should have been brought up to us\r- we were told that our menu included choco covered strawberries, guests told me after the wedding that there were no strawberries\r- wedding coordinator should have been assigned 2 weeks before the wedding. was told that one person would contact me. 4 days before my wedding i was assigned a different coordinator who although seemed sweet, had no idea what i wanted even though i gave her tons of notes and told her to let me know if she had any questions\r- champagne was not ready in time for toast, rearranged the schedule. by the time for the toast, half of my guests did not have champagne and toasted with water\r\rin all, they claim to be a no hassle venue. i chose them for this very reason and was very disappointed about how they handled by wedding. if i could do it all over again, i would have definitely chosen a different venue. The setting is amazing, the set-up was perfect for us and they truly tried to make our Beach-themed wedding just what we wanted, casual and fun. The service was great, the cake was a work of art. All of our guests commented that they had so much fun and I saw many sneaking pictures of themselves and their families by the water. We had a perfect weather day, so we were able to have the people who wanted air-conditioning inside the tent, and the people who wanted to hang out by the water outside on the deck and lawn. Kayla Dollenger(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-05-2014 My husband and I found this venue by accident when we were checking out a marina to possibly have an outdoor wedding reception on the water.We thought they were just a catering company so we wandered in on a Sunday with no appointment.Everyone was more than happy to help up and Lindsey gave us a tour of both sides of the venue.I fell in love with the garden / tent side even though the ballroom / deck was also breathtaking.There was something about the little bridal house that really sold me.I could just imagine my girls helping me get ready in there.We sat down and got a price quote which I thought was going to be WAY out of our budget and we were pleasantly surprised.They are definitely not the cheapest place around but for the service that they provide, it is well worth it!! They worked with our budget and we were sold. We didn't sign immediately because we wanted to think about it but soon after we went back to set a date. When we arrived, they greeted us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Once they gave us the contract they also gave us a lobster bisque martini. We took one bite and asked for a pen!! Immediately we were set up with a planning website that had EVERYTHING that needed to be done and a suggested date for it to be completed. This was SOOOOOO helpful. We went to a tasting and fell in love with the food and don't even get me started on the cake!! We went with the lemon cake which I would definitely recommend.The cake is included and we spent the extra 100 dollars to add icing flowers and a few decorations. Well worth it.It came out beautiful!On the day of, they allowed me and my girls to arrive 1 and a half hours early to get my dress on and take pictures.We were greeted with champagne with strawberries in it and bottles water.As my guests started arriving, they were greeted with fruit water and escorted to the beautiful garden.Tiffany and Jennifer made everything go so smoothly and everything was absolutely PERFECT!! My honeymoon has even been cancelled because of it, but my wedding was still amazing! My wedding was suppose to be outside, but due to the weather it was moved inside and it was gorgeous! I couldn't believe how wonderful everything turned out and came together and it was all thanks to Celebrations at the Bay, and especially Sarah and Joe. I will try to express how sincerely pleased I am with EVERYTHING, but words cannot describe how happy I really am with it all. Sarah, our wedding day coordinator, was very detailed orientated and saw everything through. Joe, was an instrumental part to the entire wedding day. From the very start of the day Joe was there. My Dad came to the venue at 10 AM to drop off/put out the carpet runner and Joe was there to meet him. Also, Joe went above and beyond to make sure my husband, parents, guests, and I were happy. Some of the ways Joe helped was that he made a plate of appetizers for my husband and I because we missed cocktail hour and especially the lobster martinis (our favorite), he also found the \"thank you\" cards I had spent lots of time on and had them placed where they were suppose to go, and whenever he saw my parents, husband, or I's glasses getting low he was already there with a new one. Jenna Ebert(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2012 The good: Celebrations at the Bay is an absolutely beautiful venue. We loved being on the water, and so did our guests. We lucked out that no one booked the other side of the venue on our day, so we got both sides for the price of one. The staff the day-of was excellent, especially Glynnis. They kept things moving, set things up beautifully, made sure the bridal party had food, drinks, and everything else we needed, and were on top of their game. They even extended the party by 15 minutes since we were running late! The food was delicious and the drinks were plentiful. \r\rThe bad: Pre-wedding planning was difficult – they ask you to email a general email address for all inquiries after you book, until the 5-week mark, when they give you an actual person’s email address. When I emailed the general email address, I would often wait a week, and have to forward my question again and sometimes copy someone higher up to get an answer. It seems like they don’t really care about you until you are 5 weeks out. After the 5-week mark, Stephanie helped me to finalize the details of our wedding and was pretty responsive to my emails. \r\rThe tastings that they hold are big and there are too many people and too much going on to make many decisions, but they had a lot of options of tablecloths etc. to choose from.\r\rOverall, I would recommend Planning By Uptown, just know what you’re getting into. Jennifer Nordling(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-08-2012 We did go to visit this venue on a dreary rainy day. However, the ride to this venue was very unappealing. We drove by several run down houses. As for the venue itself, it did have a nice view and was on the water, but the facilities were old. The bridal suite was not something I could picture getting ready for my wedding in. The wedding coordinator whit this venue was fabulous however! Reviewed on 03-09-2012

The reception went great and we all had a blast! We all really enjoyed it! Also, I had my wedding in February and they gave us a great discount on the food and venue. Again, I can not say enough about the people who work there, they were so helpful. Plus it is family owned so if you are not happy with something they will try to make it right. Sarah Aichele(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-08-2011 We did not have lights or air conditioning for the ceremony (which was indoors because of rain) and part of the reception, as the result of a guy running into an electrical pole with is car, but we felt completely reassured knowing that Celebrations was working the issue and doing everything possible to make our wedding as memorable as we dreamed. We\rwould not have felt comfortable trusting this problem to any other venue, and our wedding day was truly amazing.\r\rThe little actions by the staff made a huge difference. Our day-of-coordinator, was a blessing. She constantly checked in to provide\ra status on the schedule, answer any questions, and see if there is anything we needed. When I arrived, I was unexpectedly hungry, so she\rbrought me some appetizers and drinks before the ceremony even started. Although she could have done a better job organizing the processional, she was very helpful in informing the DJ about key events (such as the introduction). Since the schedule slipped\ras a result of the lack of electricity, Celebrations gave us an extra hour free of charge and paid for our vendors for the additional hour. This gave us more than enough time to dance at the end of the night, and when\rthe party was over, we were ready to go and felt like we had the night of our lives.\r\rNow for one of the greatest concerns for brides and grooms (at least for us) - the food. Despite no electricity, the food was hot and delicious, and no guest went home hungry. The food at the wedding was better than the tasting and far surpassed our expectations. All the guests commented on how great the food was - both quality and selection.\r\rWe would highly recommend this venue to future brides and grooms. The planning and execution of the wedding were relatively stress-free, and we received all the help and support we could possibly need. Celebrations at the Bay brought our fairytale wedding to life.
