Chateau at Coindre Hall Reviews

Coindre Hall is a hidden gem! The location is beautiful, the food is fantastic (so many rave reviews from our guests), and the ambiance is amazing! John was so great to work with. He's attentive, responds quickly to any questions, and is flexible with the timeline. This is clearly not his first rodeo! He has been with Lessing's for over 20 years, and it shows. Many people skip this location because the dance floor is separate from the dining, but they are right next to each other, and many people like how they can sit and have a conversation if they want to without music blasting in their ears. Definitely, a venue that is a must-see! Reviewed on 03-12-2023

10/10.Coindre Hall and the Maitre d', John, were extremely helpful in the planning process due to us living 1800 miles away but this is a hometown venue for both of us. John was able to help walk us through just about anything we were unsure about and make awesome recommendations. He was a blessing to work with. Our wedding went off without a hitch - from the beautiful ceremony, AWESOME food, and service across the board, we do not have one negative thing to say. If you're on the fence, just go for it!! My daughters wedding was held at Coindre Hall this September. I have only RAVE reviews to give. Aside from the fact that the venue has that \"WOW\" factor when first approaching it, the inside is just as magnificent. Working with the staff, especially the maitre d, John, was an absolutely magnificent experience. He was reasonable, understanding, and compassionate to the needs of my highly emotional daughter. I can't say enough about the amazing experience we had with Chateau at Coindre Hall. Reviewed on 26-09-2023

Wow! Where do I even begin? Choosing Coindre Hall as our wedding venue was the absolute best decision we ever made and we would choose it time and time again. It is simply stunning inside and out with an elegance and historic charm unmatched by any venue in the area, especially for the great price. Where do I begin to thank John Schlenke? He is a superior, competent, caring and devoted Maître d', event coordinator, planner, tour-guide, hype-man, visionary and quite frankly a magician!! He took our vision and ran with it - he combined his years of expertise and event planning - and grew the party into what we had always dreamed about. It was a fairytale!! And quite frankly went off without at hitch. We owe the success of the entire day and a years worth of planning to him. He is the definition of above and beyond!! Something we enjoyed was seeing how personal every wedding set-up was and how John transformed the space into a unique set-up matching the bride and groom to a T. We were able to visit the venue over the year leading up to our wedding for meetings, etc. and John was always setting up an event and we would just marvel at this creativity and love how different each and every wedding looked! At our wedding, he allowed us to go early, he unloaded our car, he created a donut wall, we even saw him running food from the kitchen to the Asian station during cocktail hour...he was always doing anything and everything! We felt he and the staff really cared about the success of our day and cared about us and we felt that was special. To connect on a personal level really moved us and was really something we had to share. The day was incredible and we owe it all to John, the staff and the beautiful venue at Coindre Hall. Highly recommend for your wedding! Reviewed on 26-09-2023

My wife and I just recently got married at Coindre Hall and everything was absolutely perfect. From the minute we rolled up for our first tour to the end of our wedding night John and the rest of the staff were attentive, kind, and helpful in making sure that our wedding went off without a hitch. We were very lucky to be able to have our wedding outdoors since the weather cooperated with us, but their indoor option is also beautiful. We booked the complete wedding package which includes all the necessary vendors(photographer, DJ, florist, cake, transportation, and of course food/venue/staff). Having all the vendors packaged into a single payment made to the venue made our planning really easy and all the included vendors were friendly, communicative, and did GREAT work! Our guests RAVED about the food(which was delicious) and the signature cocktails were an absolute hit! John and their staff made sure that we ate in between running around to greet our guests/make sure all the many events of the day were done. We loved that the dance floor was separate from the dining space because it really encouraged a party space with a nice little getaway to sip your cocktail/have a chat with a friend. Our guests really took advantage of the gorgeous grounds to get tons of selfies. We brought personal touches to decorate the space, but it's so gorgeous on it's own that you really don't need to do much. As an LGTBQ couple it was important to us to find a venue that really celebrated who we are as a couple, and Coindre Hall did just that. I would HIGHLY recommend for any other couples in the gay rainbow!Honestly at this point I'm telling anyone who's getting married to do it there so I can have a reason to go back as a guest! It was absolutely magical, a truly perfect day. Reviewed on 06-09-2023

Our wedding day felt like an actual fairytale. Coindre Hall is such a beautiful location, and feels timeless and romantic. We were able to arrive early enough before the ceremony to get settled, take all of our staged photos (highly recommend a first look in the courtyard!), and still have a little time to relax. John and George were wonderful to work with- they kept everything running smoothly, and were so kind and supportive. The day of our wedding there was a chance of rain, and John was ready to set up either the indoor or outdoor ceremony space at a moment’s notice. We ultimately had our ceremony inside, and even though I had wanted to be outside, the indoor space was so beautiful that I didn’t even mind. The food (Mirabelle catering) was delicious- many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the food, which is one of the most important factors at a wedding reception. Overall, our wedding was absolutely perfect! Reviewed on 20-07-2023

We had the perfect wedding at Coindre hall this past June! My husband and I fell in love with the venue at our first tour. We found the character and charm unmatched compared to other more traditional wedding venues we looked at. We loved the layout and the flexibility of the different rooms. We also were able to have our dog stay the whole reception in a room in the front which was a major selling point for us. The planning process was very smooth and communication with John the Maitre d was exceptional. John went above and beyond to make sure the day was just as we envisioned. He is amazing at his job and you an tell how much he truly cares about making the day perfect. Our guests raved about the venue and how unique it was. We highly recommend Coindre Hall!! I do not have the words to explain how amazing our experience with Coindre Hall was. This was the only wedding venue we looked at and we knew it was for us. From the months leading up to the wedding up through and even after the wedding, the level of help and guidance provided by John was impeccable. He would answer all questions and reassure us throughout the process. The package deal was an amazing option which got rid of any headaches in finding vendors. All the vendors that were part of the package deal were also great and easy to work with and super experienced in handling weddings at Coindre Hall. The food was also great and as a picky eater myself, I was happy to have so many options to choose from between cocktail hour and the main entree. The separate rooms worked out great for wedding guests who did not want to dance or were hard of hearing. Our actual wedding reception was like a dream. John and the whole Coindre Hall staff were lovely and diligent in making sure our special day truly was special. I would highly recommend Coindre Hall to anyone who wants a beautiful story book wedding! Reviewed on 03-07-2023
Morgan McGuire(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-03-2023 Where do we start? From the moment we set foot in the foyer, we knew Coindre Hall was IT. Yes, it’s a Lessing’s venue, aka a very well-known hospitality group across the Island. And, yes, we ended up selecting their “all-inclusive” wedding package, but our experience was far from “cookie cutter.” From the moment we walked in, John greeted us with a smile and enthusiasm, and his attention to detail and his knowledge of the property and how to run our event from top to bottom are unmatched. First, we loved that we got to get married in such a beautiful, romantic, historic waterfront venue – Coindre Hall truly is a hidden gem and I’m so surprised people don’t know about it or haven’t been to more events here. The venue also offers you the opportunity to have your ceremony and reception on premises, indoors or outdoors, and only hosts one event at a time, so you will never be short-changed when it comes to service and attention. Second, we know some people don’t love that the venue is broken up into several different spaces, particularly the dance floor being in a separate room from the dining tables, but boy did this work out LIKE A DREAM! We could dance our hearts out AND hear our guests and ourselves when we talked. It was so nice to take a breather from dancing with some peace and quiet. Yet, you could still hear any and every announcement our MC made all night long. Finally, the food and service were truly outstanding! The food preparation is done/overseen by the same chef as the Three Village Inn (hint: if you want to do a “tasting,” go have lunch or a date night there!) and WOW! Everything was DELICIOUS! We served a wide variety of dishes between cocktail hour and the reception and everything was so flavorful and prepared to perfection. The real stars here were John and the Coindre Hall staff! Even two weeks later, we have people telling, texting, and posting about how much fun they had and telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. We are thrilled with the choice we made with Coindre Hall! Reviewed on 10-04-2023
Arielle W(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-12-2021 Coindre Hall was the perfect wedding venue. This venue has impressive history built into it and is vastly different than the catering halls on Long Island. Having the dancing separate from dinner was perfect. Cocktail hour was spectacular. John puts his heart and soul into this, as well as the rest of the staff. John was extremely helpful and really takes the time to make sure your wedding is everything you dreamed of. We had a December wedding and the mansion was so beautiful decorated for the Holidays and had such an old world charm that is so unique. We had a piano player at cocktail hour and a live painter. We just had our wedding last weekend and it was so beautiful…the service was magical! Chateau at Coindre Hall reminds us of Disney worlds’ Cinderella’s castle at first sight! It’s unique style and real historical elements just adds so much more character to our story! We and the venue are so lucky to have the Maitre d’ John, who’s so caring, personable and calming. John and the staff were vital in our successful wedding and the reason we were able to stay calm. John’s expertise and genuine thoughtfulness was consistent. He gave us many planning tips & insightful inspiration. He has great aesthetic taste and was very organized, so John was always on top of the planning process. And on the big day, he and the staff helped us a lot by maintaining our guests and coordinating events. We got tons of compliments on how smooth and intimate the wedding was. There was no rush, no pause, and the day went by so quickly. The food at our wedding day was delicious! We loved all our selections (bacon scallops, sushi station, roast chicken, lamp chop, duck breast, sea bass and more) and wish we could devoured more if not in our fitted gowns and tuxedo. The chefs designed each dishes well, which made it even more memorable. Thank you John and the rolling pin bakery for helping us creating our dream cake that we’ve always wanted. Michelle Kim(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2022 Perfect wedding of my dreams! I couldn't have asked for anything better! My husband and I got married at Chateau at Coindre Hall in August 2022. The mansion itself is beautiful and unique, definitely different from other more typical wedding venues, and I had so many guests tell me how memorable my wedding was. The food is absolutely delicious, for both appetizers and main dishes. I had a few guests that had to take the main dishes to go, since they filled up too hard on the excellent appetizers. As for the actual event, trust me when I say that maitre d' John will take care of you. He will call your wedding \"his wedding,\" and he will treat it that way. He will make sure everything runs smoothly. If you're clueless about weddings (like me), he will guide you AND your entire wedding party through it. It will give you a peace of mind to be able to relax, knowing that John is running your wedding. On my wedding day, my florist forgot to drop off flower petals for my 4 flower girls. We found this out about an hour before the ceremony. John casually said, \"Don't worry about it,\" and I still have no idea how, but he had procured flower petals somewhere for my flower girls! John will make sure that the bride and groom gets to eat, rest, and have a great time. As a bride, I was getting way too stressed out during the wedding planning process that I wasn't sure if I would have a good time at the wedding. I can now say that my wedding day was the best day of my life! Reviewed on 08-10-2022

Nicole Melillo(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2021 If you are looking for a timeless, unique, and gorgeous location, you should definitely check this venue out! From the very beginning, John was amazing. He quickly responded to each and every email and phone call to help create our perfect day. We had some people drop last minute due to COVID and he was very flexible with meeting our minimum. I really wanted to get married outside. It was drizzling and raining on and off as we were trying to take pictures before the ceremony. John went above and beyond and set up both inside and outside so that we could have a backup plan if needed. The weather ended up holding out during the ceremony!! There were some decorations I did not love at the venue and John moved/got rid of whatever I wanted. He was so helpful and did a great job adding the decorations I had around the venue. All of our guests ranted about the food. My family is very picky, but they all had nothing but great things to say! We booked when they still had their old menu. They changed menus before we got married and gave us the choice between the two. We went with the old menu since we felt it had better options and gave us more food during the cocktail hour. I am a vegetarian and John tried to be accommodating. However, I was extremely disappointed in the vegetarian entree that was served. I picked the cauliflower steak as the vegetarian option, but it was just roasted cauliflower with the sides! Myself and my vegetarian guests ended up just getting a plate full of veggies for dinner. It was not an actual entree for any night, especially a wedding. We were assured the chefs had experience with vegetarian and even vegan guests.I was embarrassed that my vegetarian guests were served that at my wedding. We added on an Asian Station during the cocktail hour and the food was to die for! Everyone loved it so much. It was definitely worth adding. We also added a Churro Exit Station. We were very upset and do NOT recommend adding this station. The churros tasted good but my parents saw the man running the station on his cell phone. This is unacceptable. We paid extra for this station and he was on his phone and not advertising it to guests as they were leaving. My parents saw guests walk past him without knowing we had churros and my parents had to tell guests about it. Had they not been there at that time, those guests would have left without receiving a churro. Also, when he was not on his cell phone my husband & I saw him just standing there and again not saying anything to the guests as they walked past him. He should have let the guests know what was being served. We paid extra for this station and many guests walked right past him and left without knowing about the churros. Reviewed on 23-08-2022
Jessica McCoy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2022 My husband and I had our dream wedding there. I have always loved the location as I grew up in Huntington, in person it’s incredible. I love the horse shoe shape and the separated ballrooms for dining and dancing. It made conversation much easier without sacrificing the party atmosphere. My guests raved about the food (highly recommend the swordfish and duck breast). The wedding package Lessing’s offer was a life saver as we planned in about 9 months. At the heart of this is John and his staff. He is incredibly attentive and really listens. We had a lot of ideas including lawn games, having craft beer kegs delivered, and mochi donuts; John helped us nail all those details. He made suggestions that made the day smooth, and was thoughtful. He even brought my husband pie instead of cake because John remembered we mentioned that he doesn’t like cake. We loved the idea of an old mansion / castle type of venue. Coindre Hall is a hidden gem! A huge part of why our wedding day was so perfect was because of John, the maître d'- he truly goes above and beyond. We live in Boston, so John was super flexible about working with our schedules during the wedding planning, and he allowed us to come see the venue with family multiple times before our wedding day, always patiently answering all of our questions and talking us through everything. He was always super responsive over email as well. The day of the wedding, the weather was touch and go, but John allowed us to make the final call to have the ceremony outdoors, and it thankfully ended up being perfect. It went as smoothly as I could have ever imagine, which was in large part to the amazing Lessings team at Coindre Hall! When we first went to see it when choosing venues we met with Dan who was knowledgeable and friendly. We were able to book during the off season and got an amazing deal that was a very reasonable price and included so many great local vendors. Then once we booked and got to planning, we worked with John who walked us through everything ahead of time. I cannot express in words just how great John Schlenke and his team were, both before and during. Everyone was lovely, helpful, and flexible. The day of John and George ran things to perfection. They not only were able to accommodate all our requests, but they were able to anticipate all our needs which really helped to keep everything moving along. Even though it was a little cold, because it was still nice weather, we choose to have our ceremony out front of the building. I really appreciate that they let me decide that morning if we would have the ceremony inside or outside. It took of the pressure of having to make plans in advance and worry about weather. The ceremony was beautiful and they literally rolled out the white carpet. The reception was equally lovely. Everything about the venue is beautiful and classy, so we didn't need to add too much additional decoration, just some extra flowers and pictures on the mantles. Lessings doesn't do what I think of as a traditional catering tasting, they have these group events that you can attend, so I was a bit nervous about the food since I didn't get to taste it all. That being said, the food was really good and more than abundant (as was the alcohol!). Also, we had several guests with dietary restrictions, and since all the food is made to order they are able to accommodate all requests. After reading all the glowing reviews of John I thought i knew what to expect but he blew us away. He went above and beyond what we could have imagined. He was everywhere. My FIL was ill and needed to sit often, he was joking that John must have pulled chairs out of his pocket because he always had a place for him to sit. I can't express how happy we are that he was part of our day. He took all the stress and guess work out of it, the day went smoother than I could have imagined. We made an appointment to see it and instantly knew this was the place for us. Since we chose 11/23 to get married it was considered off season and we were able to sign up for a package that included the DJ, florist, photographer, limo and wedding cake. The stress of finding vendors was gone! The hall itself is exquisite. It’s natural decor is enough for all of your photos. And the staff is incredible. Every single person who works there made sure we had the most perfect day. John Schlenke was the main person we worked with there and he was so kind, helpful and accommodating. We added last minute changes to our contract and he made them all with no questions asked. From the moment we walked through the door on wedding day he was by our side guiding us to the next step. George was his assistant and he was also so kind and helpful. I don’t know what we would have done without this team. They were everything we needed and made sure everything was perfect. Months - I mean two and three months after the event - friends still tell me it was the best wedding they ever attended. Food was excellent. The steaks rivaled steakhouse meals. The setting provided us with warmth and intimacy, while also allowing for us to have a high-energy celebration. Our host, John, was attentive to our needs right from our first visit. At our first meeting at Coindre Hall, my fiancé and I were pleasantly surprised to learn that John, the person in charge of showing us around the venue and explaining to us the details of the wedding packages, would also serve to be our maître d’ at the actual reception. Looking back, that was the first of many indications of the high level of attention and service we would receive at Coindre Hall. Not only is Coindre Hall an enchanting venue, which takes you back in time to a beautiful era on the Gold Coast of Long Island, it is an exclusive one, which means, one wedding party per day. It is a wonderful feeling to walk into a venue at the start of your wedding reception and feel like you own the place—and that was my experience at Coindre Hall. You would be hard pressed to find, on Long Island or really anywhere, another exclusive venue in the same price range. Throughout the process leading up to our wedding, John showed us the utmost attention in answering questions and resolving every aspect of the wedding reception plans. In John, we found the consummate professional and someone who truly cared about making our special day the best it could be. John was even able to do some additional landscaping around the venue, at my request. Do I need to say more?! Oh yes, the food—excellent variety and delicious! Simply put, if you are looking for superlative service and attention to detail; housed within a beautiful and intimate venue; look no further than Coindre Hall! You will not be disappointed! His thoughtful, quiet presence was exactly what a a bridal party and mother of the bride needs!! He had our backs throughout the entire day. When things were about to happen, such as the cutting of the cake, Jon was there to give me a heads up so I didn't miss a beat. The ceremony was held outside, in front of the castle. Guests were seated on the lawn and bride and groom and bridal party were in front of an enormous, graceful tree. The majestic castle is just lovely, with ample space to allow the party to flow from room to room. Miranda Black(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-03-2019 Coindre Hall is a Lessing’s Venue catered by Mirabelle, and the outstanding reputation was proven true for our wedding! This was the only venue that my husband and I physically toured and we immediately booked right on the spot! Prior to touring, we reached out to several venues throughout NYC and LI and we either didn’t get a response or the details we received didn’t match our criteria. Within minutes after reaching out to Coindre Hall, we received a response! The second we walked in, we fell in love with the venue. \tWe loved the fact that it feels like home, and the history behind it! Coindre Hall only allows one event per day which is a huge plus. Our guests also loved being able to explore the entire venue throughout the entire reception and they really loved that the dancing is separate from the dining room! \tPart of our criteria during our venue hunt, was being able to have our dog with us during the wedding and Coindre Hall allowed that! \tMy husband and I were able to book the very last day of their off season all inclusive wedding package. The package includes: a discounted rate per head for the first 100 guests, photography, florist, cake, limo and DJ. We also had the ability to opt out of any of the vendors (we chose not to opt out of any) and we were also able to upgrade any of the vendor packages (we upgraded a few). There are several perks of going with the vendors in the package: all of the vendors know each other, so they all worked well together to make our day amazing, and we also didn’t have to pay extra for any vendor meals.\tFor couples booked at Coindre Hall, there is a showcase (I believe it happens twice a year). The showcase is a great opportunity to tour around the venue after booking, meet the preferred vendors and have the menu tasting! \tWe had our ceremony on site. All of our guests arrived prior to our ceremony start time, so we began earlier than expected which allowed us to have an extended cocktail hour!\tJohn, the maitre d is absolutely amazing. He has been in the business for years and was such an absolute pleasure to work with. It’s clear that he loves what he does! He went above and beyond for not only my husband and I, but my entire family. He constantly made sure that we were having a good time and eating!\tOur guests can’t stop raving about how beautiful and unique our venue was. For anyone hesitant about the separate dancing/ dining room, it worked out extremely well. We had cocktail tables set up in the room with dancing for anyone who wants to watch, but it was also a big plus for our guests to have the ability to let loose and have fun without feeling like they were on display. During the daytime, it is beautiful and a touch quirky and rustic. We instantly loved the whole space, especially Cloisters and Courtyard, and we decided to have our smaller wedding reception in the Crystal Ballroom, which borders both. On our wedding day/night, the whole place looked truly magical. With tables set and candles glowing, and interior was gorgeous, and with sun setting outside, the exterior and courtyard twinkled with little lights. Our guests raved over how lovely and classy our wedding was. John Schlenke (maitre d) is super helpful, upbeat / always smiling, and flexible with plans. He went above and beyond to have stumps removed from the lawn outside, at my husband's request (wow, thanks again, John!). On the night of the wedding, he kept everything running smoothly and was very patient with us even though we were running late due to photos. Chelsea Christensen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2019 If you’re like me you have hit ‘the age’ when everyone around you is getting married. Summer-fall weekends are booked with engagement parties, bridal showers, and of course, weddings. Long Island is filled with Italian halls with views of the great South Bay. They are beautiful venues- don’t get me wrong! But when it came to my wedding I didn’t want it to blend in with all the others. My (very patient) fiancé and I had seen 11 venues before our appointment at Coindre Hall and they all seemed like all of the other local weddings I had been to (again, all beautiful- but the repetition was uninspiring). I was becoming gradually disappointed by the idea that if you want something different you have to pay a vastly higher price to get married out east at a vineyard, or in the city for something industrial, or just leave the island all together. Immediately upon entering Coindre Hall I knew I had found my venue. The grounds, the views, the freaking castle! Everything fell into place. We had our ceremony on the front lawn under the big central tree. Our florist draped white curtains and strands of flowers with twinkle lights intwined from the branches. It was perfect. Our guests raved about the romantic and historical feel inside the venue with views overlooking the harbor from the top of the hill. The food was outstanding and all of the staff treated us like you would hope to be treated on the best day of your life. We were pleasantly unsurprised by this since amazing customer service had been our experience since the beginning. John Schlenke, our maitre d’/wedding coordinator was by our side from the first meeting until the final moments of the reception. He couldn’t have been a better communicator/organizer/orchestrator/and fielder of every ball thrown by us or our (very loving but also very critical) mothers. I can’t say enough about his professionalism and genuine drive to deliver an incredible experience through and through. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives and Coindre Hall was the heart of it all. We could not be happier, couldn’t recommend it more, and will certainly be back to visit and relive the memory of the day we became husband and wife. A couple of more things I want to touch on— 1. We weren’t thrilled with the food at the bridal showcase; but John ensured us that the day-of food would be perfect and he was 100% right. Our menu choices were the prime rib, duck, and salmon. They gave us one of each plate so we could try everything and all 3 dishes were fantastic. If you’re a food critic I can say with confidence you will be impressed!2. One aspect of Coindre Hall that bothered my mother-in-law and came up as questionable in some of the reviews I had read was the dancing room being in a separate space than the dining room. Let me tell you that there wasn’t a period of time that our dance floor wasn’t packed. If you have a dancing crowd you will have no trouble getting people out of their seats. It’s one thing hearing it from venue staff but another from someone who experienced it— it won’t be a problem. Rest assured!!So if you couldn’t already tell I’m a very happy bride who is in love with her wedding venue— all the best luck in becoming the same!! Xo Reviewed on 11-10-2019
Jacqueline Prato(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-07-2019 My husband and I got married at Coindre Hall this past July and I cannot say enough how it was the best day of our lives. A large part of that was due to the amazing experience John, his team and Coindre Hall provided. We decided to only do photos at the venue because it is that stunning, and the pictures and scenery provided a perfect backdrop to our love. There were lots of different spaces to take beautiful pictures, including the front of the chateau, as well as the stair case and courtyard which we used for our first look. John is the most professional and knowledgable Maitre D. He answered every question I had by email or otherwise and knew exactly how this uniquely set up venue would work for our guests. Our ceremony was on the main lawn under a beautiful tree on the property. It was our dream to get married under a tree, so I am very glad we were able to use that space. The venue has many spaces for cocktail hour, dinner and for dancing. We loved that you didn't get stuck into one big room, you were able to see the historic architecture while you enjoyed hot passed hors d'oeuvre. Our guests were easily moved from one space to another and were able to participate in all of the activities of the evening. The Chateau only has one event at a time and that made me feel better while planning for pictures and deliveries of flowers. We got married on the hottest day in New York this year and all of my guests felt very comfortable during our outdoor ceremony. John made sure guests had a drink as they were waiting for the ceremony to start. They felt comfortable and could not stop raving about the food and ambiance the venue brought. There was SO MUCH FOOD! All of it delicious. Our guests have not stopped talking about how wonderful and bountiful the food was. The menu options are elevated and elegant, making for a very classy event. We opted for a seafood bar heavy on oysters and John and his staff delivered. They were hand shucked to order! I loved that we got one of each entree, which my favorite was the duck. The bar was always well stocked and we even were able to have a signature cocktail, made specially for us. We also got an ice cream bar and my guests (all adults) were loving it. The line wrapped around the ballroom with people waiting for ice cream and various toppings included. Also there was cake and a Neapolitan stack of cookies and desserts. All of the events of the night ran smoothly and everyone was able to have the night of their lives! Anything I asked John for he delivered. To start off, one of the best feelings in the world is being able to put your trust in the hands of others knowing that they won’t let you down (good marriage advice too!). Our Maitre’D John Schlenke was absolutely that person, I vividly remember my wife & I coming out of our menu choosing day w John blown away with his professionalism. John calls the weddings, “his wedding”, and he takes it as seriously as that. He gave us amazing ideas to make the night special, and guided us along the way. He was responsive and timely to every annoying question we asked. When it was showtime, John was always there to lead us in the right direction, make sure we were well fed, and was up to the task of dealing w 160+ ppl who had martinis during cocktail hour.As for the venue, I’m sure you’ve seen pictures, but it’s visually stunning and gives the guests a whole different feel to a typical wedding. Multiple rooms to explore and enjoy throughout the ceremony, but still with an intimate feel. And the dance floor being off the dining room worked out perfect, we had most everyone out there when it came time to party. Also your views of the beautiful trees and Long Island sound are amazing from the dining area. Plus...what’s better than getting married in a castle! The cocktail hour is something special, we added on raw & martini bar (like 15 different types of martinis) and it was a hit. You also get an endless amount of different appetizer choices to overwhelm your guests with as they explore the multitude of beautiful rooms and courtyards around them. People raved about it and John was nice enough to usher us to an outside table on the patio w two dishes he prepared for us (life saving stuff after a martini or two as guests mob you). Dinner is made to order and presented perfectly. The service for dinner is fancy, coordinated dinner reveals for the full table is a nice touch! So hopefully by my note, you can tell that if you’re between a few venues my recommendation is don’t be, choose this one you won’t be disappointed it will be a magical day. Ps—we did the wedding package and all of the vendors (Tommy the DJ, Park Ave studios-Brian, Tom & Bill & our florist Amanda from Village florist) were all wonderful too. Reviewed on 07-05-2018

Traci bouchard(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-07-2016 We loved our wedding at Coindre Hall- it was everything we imagined it would be and better. The Chateau is simply beautiful- a beautiful old mansion- and it feels like your very own, since they only have one event at a time. The setting is perfect for photos, the ceremony, and of course the reception. I had been at events at The Three Village Inn- which is the same chef and catering service and knew the food would be excellent, and we were not disappointed. All of our guests commented on the beauty of the Chateau and how amazing the food was- and there was so much of it. We liked how many choices there were when we were planning the menu and how easy and helpful the staff made things. The maitre'd and staff were flawless. It was a perfect event. Danielle Pyser(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-10-2017 I do not have enough words to describe how magical the setting of Coindre Hall is. It was the only venue my husband and I looked at it. From the moment we had our first meeting, the staff their, Kate and John made us feel special and welcome. To start, if you want an outdoor wedding on Long Island, this is the place to do it. It does not need ANYTHING. The tree that you get married under and the surrounding area is beautiful. Many of venues have what feel like fake settings, but this was quite and beautiful. From there, the cocktail hours is huge, with an amazing selection of food and enough seats for over 100 people. Your guest get to walk all around the venue, from the atrium garden, to the second floor and seats on the front deck. Then, the introduction - everyone standing and gathered in the ballroom made it so special. The energy that was felt in that room cannot be matched. By having the dancing in a separate area made everyone want to get up and dance! And the older people loved that they could sit and hear each other talk. There are so many amazing places for photos as well. John - the maitre d - is like no other person I have ever met. He was EVERYWHERE, organized, calm and just on top of everything. He made everything run perfect, gave invaluable feedback and we completely trusted him. If you don't book your wedding here, you are missing out on the most one of a the best venues on Long Island. All of our guests raved about the food & loved the venue! We got married on 9/22/2017 and chose to have a daytime reception. One minor concern that we had was that our guests wouldn't know where to mingle, due to the unique layout of Coindre Hall. This should have never been a concern...our guests loved finding their own space within the venue to mingle & catch up with family & friends. It was exactly what we were looking for; a venue that feels like home, with all the same warmth & hospitality! Coindre Hall is a great venue for all ages; our nieces & cousins had a great time exploring the space. They enjoyed themselves just as much as our older guests! Another simple but meaningful touch we requested to have was a to-go coffee station as our guests were leaving. John and his staff went above & beyond throughout the entire day. He also has many years of experience and he was so helpful and professional. I planned the whole wedding myself so I felt very grateful to have someone like him that I could trust. On the wedding day of, he ran around and made sure everything was placed correctly, guests were entertained, and it really gave me a peace of mind. I didnt have to worry much on my wedding day other than my vow. I love the venue. Coindre Hall reminds me of our vacation in Colmar, France. It has history, uniqueness, and a cozy feel. The guests were absolutely in love with the place. I didnt put in a photo booth, because why take pictures with fake background when you have a gorgeous castle like this one. Second, we picked this place because the venue only serves one wedding a day and we had the flexibility to time the wedding. Most of my guests have kids, so we wanted to come early and leave early. Most importantly, the venue has a huge parking lot next door, which makes it so convenient. We also had the ceremony outside the lawn. It was so quiet and romantic. We didnt even need a mic to speak our vows. During reading the vows, we had half the guests crying : )Going into the wedding planning process, I had a mindset that not everything will turn out the way it will go but I did make a few very good decisions that made the wedding as smooth as it was. And one of them was definitely picking this venue. Brides, if you are planning a wedding, please remember to have a open mind. Thats definitely helped me so much and things will work out in return. Christina Buehler(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-09-2003 We cannot say enough positive things about Coindre Hall. It is elegance and class on every level. We had only 100 people at the reception, and thus it was a very intimate party (but definitely with room to comfortably fit more tables). Our guests loved the unique layout of Coindre. They LOVED that the reception in was in one room, and the dancing was in an adjoining room. People who wanted to party and dance could do so on the dance floor, and those who wished to talk really liked that they could have a conversation in the reception room without shouting. \r\rThe food was excellent. Lessings does an outstanding job. Everything we had was hot, delicious and nicely presented. Cocktail hour was great in variety, quality and quantity, as is expected for a Long Island wedding. Dinner was great and well paced. (We chose the pesto shrimp with lobster risotto, duck, and chateaubriand, with butternut squash ravioli for the appetizer)\r\rThe wedding cake from Black Forest Bakery in Lindenhurst was also great. We had alternating layers – one with chocolate cake and cannoli/black cherry filling, and yellow cake with cappuccino mousse filling. Both awesome. We also had a small groom’s cake with chocolate cake and raspberry fruit & mousse filling – also excellent.\r\rOur wedding was at the end of November, and I was initially concerned that the pictures wouldn’t be as pretty because the flowers, lawn, etc would be gone/brown. I am thrilled with the way the pictures turned out. Although it was a little chilly, we braved the cold and took most of our pictures outside. The bare trees framing the water, the yellow leaves on the ground, and the gray skies all looked fantastic. There are equally lovely places inside for photos as well.\r\rMuch of the credit for this review and the smoothness of the day must go to John Schlenke , the maître d’ (with shout-outs to the ladies in the Lessings office – Faith and Evelyn). John is a professional on every level, and went out of his way to make sure that everything was as perfect as possible for our wedding day. He was patient with all requests, prompt with answers to all emails, and thoughtful in the helpful suggestions that he made. From the moment we arrived after the church on our wedding day, John came out to greet us at the car like we were coming “home”. It made us feel great and was a fun way to start the day. He paced the whole day perfectly, everything flowed, and fortunately, there was nothing about the day that went wrong or that I would have changed.
