A gorgeous villa, it sits above the vineyards of North County San Diego, just five minutes away from San Diego Safari Park. It is also just 25 minutes from the beach and downtown San Diego. Chateau Viento will stun you with its impressive grandeur from the moment you arrive. As you enter, the extravagant mahogany doors and chiseled columns of Jerusalem gold stone greet you. The charm and luxury of this beautiful villa are clear in the combination of marble and dark wood flooring. A romantic ambiance is created by the warm lighting and high vaulted ceilings. Chateau Escondido has nine fully appointed suites, two kitchens, two half-baths, and numerous living areas. Each bedroom offers ample space with its own ensuite bathroom, which is in itself a work of art, and king or queen-sized beds. The master suite features a host of luxurious amenities, including a king-size bed, marble bathroom, a steam room, a marble jacuzzi with a TV, multiple walk-in closets, chandeliers, and mood lighting. You can take in the stunning views from the wealth of balconies and patios. There is also a separate guest house. BEWARE!!I stayed here for a couple days to attend my brother’s wedding and wow how awful it was. Firstly, there was a creepy guy whose name is apparently Luque who was walking around the house, on his phone, filming the house and the guests. He was told beforehand, by my brother, that he couldn’t do that. Yet there he was; and mind you there were young children there and as a mother and aunt to those kids, it felt unsafe! This guy was also walking into all of the bedrooms - these doors didn’t even lock! Everyone was so uncomfortable with him there. Secondly, don’t be fooled by the photos. This house is not clean. There were rat traps everywhere, dust bunnies and spider webs all over. Yup, they were not cleaned during the wedding! And on the first day of the stay, the gas was NOT working!! No shower, no cooking and no heat during the cold night! You would think the owner would want to fix it that day, but he waited until the next afternoon. And on the day of the wedding, the power outlet for the DJ went out!! Lastly, after sharing these experiences during our stay to the owner, my brother was met with such animosity. No compensation for even the one day that the gas was out. No sense of ethical business practice in what I witness. This was all happening while the newlyweds were trying to prepare and enjoy the days leading up to the wedding day. Owner seemed to only care about his reviews. So I would be hesitant to trust any good reviews you read about this venue. I would not have my wedding here nor would I want to work with these people/company. There are other venues in Escondido that are better and will communicatively work with you with ease.
