Taylor was our venue coordinator at Chatfield Farms, and she did a great job. She was extremely organized and professional, and she was always cheerful and happy to answer questions. We got all our flowers through Chatfield Farms through their new Bucket of Blooms program. Despite the cold, rainy spring that delayed flowers blooming, Josie was able to find many beautiful blooms and greens for us. Our venue was the Green Farm Barn, and we highly recommend it! It's much more private than Deer Creek Stables, with a lot of room to spread out. Please note that we had 130 people at our wedding, and the barn didn't have enough room for them all to sit inside. That was fine for our wedding, because we lucked out with the weather. But it's something to know! It would have accommodated 85-90 people. The Gardens were beautiful in mid-June! And not very buggy for our morning wedding. There was an explosion of flowers all over the place, so we didn't need to decorate much at all. Beautiful venue--accommodating staff. We had a great experience with Chatfield Farms for our wedding. Jeremiah was awesome to work with and super helpful with the various 900 questions I had. Everything was executed beautifully, down to getting lucky with nice enough weather for an outdoor ceremony in November. We got a great deal getting married outside peak wedding season, so that was also a huge perk. There are only a few things that I wish had been different about the venue. The bathrooms were a short walk away from the barn where our reception took place. It would definitely not be an issue during the warmer months, but it probably would have been nicer for guests not to walk outside when it was cold at night. We did have a late fall/early winter wedding though and that one is definitely on us. Additionally, there were some pretty heavy spider webs/buggy type stuff along the corners of the ceiling in the barn that I wish had been cleaned up prior to our reception. Not a huge deal, but something I noticed and might bother others. Reviewed on 04-12-2023

We had our ceremony outside and our reception in the Green Barn at Chatfield Farms. The whole day a dream and the team was fantastic! Even though it rained on our day, the team was able to flex and make it all work. In the end, the rain stopped and we were dancing outside under the twinkle lights. I loved the venue, the flowers, the aesthetic, and the team there. Reviewed on 11-11-2023

Chatfield was a stunning venue for our September wedding this year. We had the ceremony at the open air chapel and the reception in the deer creek stables. From the guests’ view, everything was absolutely perfect! As the bride and groom, we had some frustrations during the planning process and with Chatfield not executing what we had agreed upon for our wedding day. First off, there are a ton of rules to follow with this venue- so much red tape when it comes to which vendors you can use for your wedding. There was an unnecessary lack of communication between Chatfield and our caterers, Organic Roots, and the rental company, AllWell Rents. We discovered later that we did all the leg work which they said they could’ve handled- but it was too late. When we booked the venue, our representative from Chatfield was Anna. Anna left the job soon after and we didn’t hear from the new contact, Caiti for a couple months. Caiti told us they’d be at the venue day of the wedding to help our coordinator set up but Caiti never showed the day of- with no explanation:( We feel Chatfield fell short in several areas in planning/ execution after setting clear expectations of the wedding. The wedding was beautiful but we feel the price tag didn’t match what we got the day of. FYI, there will be people/visitors walking around your venue and the gardens even if they tell you that they will clear the guests out Reviewed on 02-11-2023

Chatfield Farms was a wonderful venue for our early fall wedding! We used the outdoor chapel for our Jewish wedding and the communication to get our chuppah on the grounds was easy and straight forward. We had our reception at Deer Creek Stables and when we came around the corner for our reception, it was so beautiful with the fairy lights that it took our breath away. What a beautiful venue and we loved that it wasn't privately owned. The gardens were gorgeous and a perfect backdrop to our wedding! Reviewed on 31-10-2023

We had our reception here. While the venue was beautiful and we enjoyed the day, I wouldn't recommend using this venue unless you're okay with a lot of added stress. Communication from the time we initially toured our venue to the day of the reception was a challenge, as Chatfield was fairly unresponsive. We also had a major issue with our layout. I gave our updated layout to our event coordinator 2 weeks before the event as requested, but when we showed up for the event, the layout the events staff used was months old and incorrect. We had to change literally every table except for the 2 food tables before we could start decorating, which led to a ton of added stress in setting up the event in time. Reviewed on 22-10-2023

We had our wedding at Deer Creek Stables in June, and it was perfect. The gardens and venue were absolutely stunning. I am especially grateful that the Stables gave us an easy weather backup, given how rainy June was this year, but we got extremely lucky and the weather was perfect, allowing us to keep the stables open and have the outdoor wedding that we had hoped for. All of the staff at Chatfield were so lovely to work with - incredibly kind and accommodating throughout the whole process. We also picked our caterer and DJ from their recommended vendors list and had a good experience - and it was really nice to know that our vendors were already familiar with the space and staff at Chatfield. I can't speak highly enough of our experience with Chatfield - an enormous thank you to Jeremiah and the whole team for making our wedding so stress-free and such a good time. Reviewed on 07-10-2023

We got married here September 30, 2023 and had a negative experience. Leading up, there was very little communication and it would take them up to 3 weeks to respond to our emails. Our event coordinator was sick for our walk through so could not attend and did not make any attempt to schedule an additional walk through with us, leaving a lack of understanding for our event day of. We paid for a half day that was to start at 4pm and were told that we could be on site at 3pm. We even paid $400 additional to be able to use the yurt from 3pm - 4pm. We were reassured upon signing our contract that there would be no problem setting up the wedding in an hour and that this was common. When the wedding party arrived, our contact from Chatfield was nowhere to be found and the yurt we rented was locked and the AC was not on for us. This left our wedding party standing in the heat for 40 minutes waiting to hear from someone from Chatfield and delayed our schedule for set-up. Additionally, we communicated ahead of time the specific people who would need ADA accommodations with a golf cart. Chatfield did not have a cart ready for the guests when they arrived and clearly did not have a plan in place, as they drove us around in the golf cart without communicating to us that there wasn’t another one for the guests. They are refunding us for the $400 we spent on the yurt, but I do not think this makes up for the experience. The location is beautiful and the guests were overall happy, but, I was immensely disappointed by the service we received for the amount we spent on this venue. Also to note, if you do go with this venue in the fall that the corn maze is no joke and the site is very busy with people from the public until about 5:30pm. Reviewed on 06-10-2023

Jess G(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2019 The gardens itself are beautiful, but the staff and communication are what make this venue a one star. We worked with Elanor and it would take 4 follow up emails to hear back about a simple question. Sometimes we even had to loop in the venue manager to get an answer (Most of the time actually). We even had to email them for almost 3 weeks to get them to TAKE OUR CHECK, to pay for the venue. Shouldn’t that be the easiest part? Really bad. Our event coordinator didn’t even make our walk through. They let us know they would be there during set up for any questions. When we got there and my day of coordinator had questions, they event staff WERE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. It would take around 20 minutes for my coordinator to get a hold of them and when we communicated with them through the walkie talking to get assistance for our elderly with the golf carts it took 30 minutes for them to come around. Isn’t part of what we paid a decently responsive team? It’s sad when your day of representation can’t get a hold of the event staff at all. I know this isn’t a one off experience because I bought some second hand items from a bride who had her wedding there and also had a terrible customer service experience. Lastly, the staff didn’t turn on the AC in time and out cake started to melt. They told us to put our other cakes in the brides room because someone else’s cake melted the other day. They provided no refrigeration for our cakes even though they knew that cakes melted in the past. All in all this venue would be perfect if they just hired better and more communicative people. Pablo was great though, if you have the option… work with him. Reviewed on 01-10-2019

Beautiful views, flexibility for ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, etc. Bridal suite and grooms suite included. Our wedding was at the Green Farm Barn, ceremony was just to the side of the barn and dinner was on the lawn with yard games and dancing on the patio. (Perk is the barn was our Plan B if weather didn't want to cooperate!) Everything worked out so well. The only reason 4/5 stars is that the venue has some pretty strict rules: must use their vendors(or expect a per person penalty $), decoration limitations (flame, stakes in ground, confetti not allowed). The points of contact for the venue left a lot to be desired. They are very nice, but very busy so many times days goes between responses or plans fall off the radar if you don't follow up and confirm schedules with the points of contact at the Gardens. This is also a very busy venue, weddings Friday/Sat&Sun during peak season along with other events, etc.I would do it all over again at Chatfield Botanic Gardens, though! Reviewed on 17-09-2019

The staff were responsive and helpful from the initial tour to the end of the reception. The ceremony took place at the Open Air Chapel, the reception at the Deer Creek Stables, and the dancing on the Prairie Garden Terrace. The setting, gorgeous landscaping, and fairy lights in the trees around the dance floor made it all magical. On a more practical note, there are nice bathrooms with handicapped access, which was important for one of our elders. We appreciated that one of the security guards had a bottle of bug spray that he offered around, since there were some mosquitoes in certain areas. Chatfield provides a list of approved vendors that are required. We were actually very grateful for that, since it reduced the vast universe of options and guaranteed that everyone would be familiar with the venue and its rules. Preparing a full meal without a catering kitchen, for example, requires special equipment and skills. We were delighted with all our vendors and many guests said that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. Reviewed on 06-08-2019

The venue itself is stunning-- all the natural greenery and flowers makes for cheap and easy decorating! We specifically were married in front of the aspen grove at the edge of the main lawn and used the Deer Creek Stables for our reception. The stables kept us protected from weather and provided plenty of space for a 60 person dinner and dance floor (and cocktail hour on the patio!) The trees are lit at night, making the most magical setting for pictures, cake cutting, and mingling with friends. As far as the events team at Chatfield, Brittany was a pleasure to work with. She was available to answer all of our questions leading up to the big day and at our walk through, and then day-of, our wedding planner said she was easy to work with and accessible throughout the night. They take care of ceremony chair set up and have a variety of tables that can be used for the reception as well. We had many notes and special requests, and they accommodated each of every one of them. From setting-up and arranging our ceremony chairs perfectly for our wedding of 56 guests to always being present whenever needed during our ceremony and reception for any problems we needed fixed, they were stellar. With another wedding the same day at the nearly Green Farm Barn, we were so happy that the assurances in our earlier meetings that we would not even know they were there came true! Sarah LaCour(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2019 We had our wedding June 1 at the Chatfield location. Yes, the gardens are gorgeous, but the events staff fail miserably at anything passing for competence. First, despite scheduling the walk through with Brittany, she did not attend it. Eleanor did. Second, despite our discussion of the chair number and arrangement for the ceremony (and explaining how important it was that my wedding of 60 not be swamped), they put out more than 120 chairs. Thus, not only did Brittany fail to attend, she failed to read the notes from the meeting. Additionally, the day of, not only was the cooler not running in the yurt for the groom and his men, but there were no working lights. When we asked the gardens staff if any one was around from events (we could not find them in their office despite it still being well before 5:00), the answer was no and no one was available to fix the problem. They did give us a business card. Our music was drowned out by the pulsing, sometimes profanity-laced music from the other wedding that day (despite assurances in our earlier meetings that they monitor the noise level). The restroom in our reception venue was never unlocked by staff. Brittany and Eleanor who were supposed to \"tag team\" the event were no where to be found. When we expressed our concerns, we were first assured that someone would be in contact (they were not). When we reached out and made contact, they only blamed the other wedding as having required too much of their attention (i.e. folks in trees and the like). Apparently the fact that we also paid for a quality experience (and deserved, if not the experience, compensation) did not seem important to them. Christi Pott(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2013 Chatfield was a perfect setting for our wedding. The ceremony site is gorgeous with the foothills in the background. We had our reception by the schoolhouse and it was exactly as we'd envisioned - all outdoors, relaxed, under the stars, with plenty of space for people to mingle, play lawn games, and dance. The directors are somewhat difficult to get a response from, but the location was worth the frustration of limited and delayed contact. Reviewed on 01-07-2013
Caitlin Mock(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2013 We recently got married at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. First the pros. It is an absolutely gorgeous Colorado location with a big beautiful barn, open fields, a mountain backdrop for the ceremony, natural gardens and even goats and chickens. The barn makes an incredible reception site, with the patio out front being perfect for both your cocktail hour and your dance floor. We fell in love with the location and knew it fit with our rustic romance vision for our wedding. However, I will say the service isn't great. They are fortunate to have such a great venue site otherwise I don't think they would have nearly as many weddings. Communication was nearly impossible and most messages weren't responded too without multiple calls and emails having to be sent. Our site manager didn't show up to a meeting with us and we were left standing there waiting. She didn't answer her cell phone and didn't respond to us about it for days. They also have a lot of kind of crazy rules. I understand it's a botanic garden and historical site but they're so stringent. They also squeeze in as many events as humanly possible. On our wedding day, they fit 3 weddings in on a Saturday, including a ceremony only at our site only an hour before we had access to the space. They also keep a lot of information to themselves that they don't want their weddings to know, like scheduling a color run at the gardens during a wedding and adding additional ceremony sites that can alter your existing contract for things like signage and parking. Overall, they just do not make it easy to work with them, even if you have other fabulous vendor partners. \rThe venue is gorgeous and it worked out just fine for us, especially with the help of other amazing vendors. If you fall in love with the place, it will be beautiful, just be prepared to do a lot yourself, ask a lot of questions, get everything in writing and possibly have to deal with less than stellar service. I'd highly suggest hiring a day of coordinator or wedding planner, or paying your florist and cake bakers etc to deliver to the site for set up since they really do not do much to help with that either. Shauna Fuller(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2012 I fell in love with the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield absolutely instantly. It is so gorgeous there. Even though we had to change our plans of having both the ceremony and reception there to just the reception, we were still so pleased. The only thing that was tough about only having a ceremony there was that I didn't have as private of a \"getting ready\" space. I got ready in the gorgeous schoolhouse, but that building is right at the entrance. TONS of people saw me before I actually walked down the aisle, which was a bummer. Other than that, the ceremony space at the Outdoor Chapel was marvelous. It's definitely pricey, but gorgeous. Reviewed on 22-10-2012
Jessica R(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2012 My groom and I planned a destination wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield from CA. It really was very simple dealing with both Mary and Chris, despite the initial worry of specifications with the site, it was a breeze and they were very well prepared and had everything ready and set up just like planned. There were no unexpected surprises here. The site was beautiful, with sparkle lights that made the night feel as though we were in a magical place! They even helped get a golf cart to help my 85 year old grandmother around when she had trouble walking at no extra cost! Our guests could not stop saying how much they loved it. I would highly recommend this outdoor venue! Reviewed on 21-10-2012
Shannon Chandler(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2012 I love the Gardens at Chatfield. The outdoor chapel is beautiful and the barn is a great place to hold the reception. My only issue is that there seemed to be a lot of hidden costs that I didn't know about until a few weeks before the wedding, but these were balanced out by the ability to buy your own alcohol to be served by the catering company. Nicolette Roccaro(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-07-2012 I was a DIY bride and found this excellent venue, very affordable. Extremely beautiful site, we hardly had to make any decorations, because there were flowers in bloom everywhere on July 29. Mountain backdrop- perfect! Our ceremony was on the outdoor chapel, reception in the barn.\rThe site had recommendations for almost everything you could need. We chose to hire one of their recommended caterers, because they are familiar with the site, how to get into the barn, etc. They made it hassle free. The rest of our \"hired help\" were family and friends: photographer, DJ, singers, cake maker, etc. The site was so helpful to all of these people and showed us exactly where to set everything up.\rThis site has a wedding almost every weekend, and you can tell, becuase they were SO professional. I can't think of a single question that they didn't know the answer to. My Dream Come True! Reviewed on 24-08-2012
April Fisher(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-07-2012 Overall this was in a great location if you want something out of the city, along the foothills. The venue is beautiful and the barn reception area is great if you are ok with a bit of a rustic feel. The downside was the barn did get a bit muggy on a 90 degree day and the venue is very strict with entry/exit times, so a Day of Coordinator is a must. Also, we could have better things to say about the staff. They are very strict and a bit uptight! So, beware that they will be happy to throw on some damage fees once the party is over. neicy wagner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-07-2012 Chatfield was amazing! The venue was absolutely gorgeous and Mary and her staff really bent over backwards to see that everything was just right. One amazing worker, who's name I never got, raced my friend to the ceremony who went to pick up the forgotten rings on a golf cart and literally got her there in the nick of time! Kerrie Jones(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-06-2012 We loved getting married here. It was beautiful and everything we wanted. I was a little frustrated at times with all of the different rules. Mary was our coordinator with Chatfield and she did a great job. I wish there had been more catering options. Stephanie Walker(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2011 The gardens were absolutely lovely, and we loved the location. We got many compliments on how gorgeous it was. The barn is super fun and the outdoor chapel is fabulous.\r \rMy only complaint throughout the planning process is the customer service that we received. In person, the staff was very friendly, but most of the communication took place over email. It took weeks to hear back about many of my emails, and usually it took a second email following up. Otherwise, great! Reviewed on 26-07-2011
Rachel Thurmond(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2011 What a perfect place to have a wedding reception. The barn fit our theme perfectly - a country, casual wedding. We all wore boots, danced to country music all night long and ate BBQ to our hearts content. Since the barn was a little small for our guest list of 180+ we put tables inside the barn and outside on the grass - people loved having the choice! The barn looks amazing with the twinkle lights, add your centerpieces and candles and it is stunning. The patio outside the barn that also serves as the dance floor is perfect - especially when the weather is nice. Chris and Mary were both very helpful as the event coordinators. The property is beautiful and allows for some great photo opportunities. And the best part - it was SO affordable! Reviewed on 13-07-2011
Leah Martin(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-05-2011 We made an appointment to see the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield with the event coordinator, Chris. We showed up right on time, but saw no one nearby. Finally, we knocked on a door and met someone who told us the Chris wasn't there. She called her cell phone and couldn't get in touch with her. She stood us up for our appointment. The other woman showed us around the grounds, but we were not impressed- no rain option, one shabby little bathroom, and a small, worn down reception site. Needless to say, we opted out of this venue. Chris never called to apologize which seems like some bad business to me. Reviewed on 30-05-2011
Meghan Gibbs(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-06-2010 What a fantastic place to have a wedding! It was great! The weather was blue skied and clear, which of course helps, but the gardens here are just beautiful. The open air chapel had a great view and is a meadow surrounded by trees and tall grasses. We had our reception at the Green Farm Barn which was a great break from all the sun! Purple wildflowers were blooming next to the grassy area where we played lawn games.\r\rThis place is fantastic, they have a lot of the rental equipment you might need for a smaller group, but they handle both small or large groups with ease! Who needs decorations when you are surrounded by blooming flowers? Reviewed on 11-08-2010
