Located in Lancaster, OH, Cheers & Lakeside Chalet is a rustic wedding venue. Here, you can celebrate your love amidst 70 acres of beautiful countryside. Couples have been coming to this stunning property for more than 30 years to celebrate their milestone day. The team here is excited to help to-be-weds bring their wedding vision to life. They are also happy to host intimate elopements in their beautiful event spaces. Owners Steve and Penny Stange opened Cheers & Lakeside Chalet after working in the corporate world for more than 20 years. They wanted a change of pace, and a job where they could work closely with people. Every couple gets their full attention and assistance, whatever they might need. Steve and Penny go the extra mile to help their customers bring their dream to life, and they love to spread joy through their work. There are several outdoor event spaces dotted across the grounds of Cheers & Lakeside Chalet. You can celebrate in the elegant banquet halls, at the picnic grove, throughout the gardens, or by the pond. You can also wander through the forest trails and take in the lush greenery of the fields. The banquet halls have both indoor and outdoor elements, so you can enjoy the stunning views while having shelter from the weather. These decks are open in the summer, and enclosed and heated during the colder months. The venue offers full-service catering and bartending, as well as tables, chairs, linens, and decor. There is free parking available on the grounds.

Jackie, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing…she was so kind, helpful, and patient throughout the entire process. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

We got married at the Lakeside venue, and it was an absolute dream! Everyone was wonderful to work with, the food was amazing, and the venue was beautiful. Jackie, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing…she was so kind, helpful, and patient throughout the entire process. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

This venue was outstanding from the beginning to the end. I can't say enough about how accommodating the entire staff was! I had to change the color of my linens a month before our wedding and my coordinator, Lindsay, met with me right away to make that happen. She was available via text or email for any questions I had and replied promptly. Lindsay also texted me pictures of the reception area after they decorated it because I was so excited to see it all done. We had the owner, Steve, officiate our ceremony and after a short conversation with him about what we wanted he put it together perfectly. It was exactly what we asked for. This venue has two locations on the property to choose from and both are beautiful! We were married at Cheers and had 150 guests. The bridal suite was awesome and has two large rooms connected by a bathroom. The groom and groomsmen do not have an area to get ready in, so we closed off the bathroom on one side and let the guys use the other room. The staff was very careful and took extra measures to make sure my husband and I did not see each other before the ceremony since we were not doing a first look. In addition, the venue worked closely with our DJ, videographer, and photographers constructing a timeline so that everything ran smoothly and as close to schedule as possible. Everything went great and we could not have asked for a better day! Our guests have not stopped talking about our wedding still two weeks later. We have received so many compliments on how beautiful everything was, the incredible organization, the feel of the atmosphere, the food, and how polite the staff members were! Also, a huge shout out to our phenomenal bartenders! You ladies were amazing!!The whole experience with this venue and staff was absolutely wonderful! They listened to what we wanted and gave us exactly what we imaged our day would be. If you want your day perfect with minimal stress, I highly recommend this venue.

First off the venue is stunning we knew right off the bat that this was the venue for us! Our wedding coordinator Shannon was amazing to work with start to finish. She was very communicative and was really quick with her responses. On the wedding day she did an amazing job at keeping the wedding on track and solving any problems we had. Have been to Cheers for many occasions but to experience it for my own wedding was amazing. Not to mention what a relief it is to have a vendor set up and tear down for you. It was so stress free knowing I did not have to worry about all off my belongings at the end of the day. Packaged with care. The location was perfect and beautifully set up to my expectations. I am very detail oriented and they matched exactly what I wanted with no complaints. Everyone seemed happy to assist with making my wedding day so magical. Special thanks to my wedding coordinator Lindsay for great communication back and forth and making the day of so smooth.

This place is gorgeous and spacious, not to mention reasonably priced considering all you’re getting! It was great having catering, set up, tear down and staff all included with our package. The food was amazing, the staff were helpful and attentive, and our wedding coordinator did an amazing job with executing our dream wedding. There are amazing spots for photo ops and I highly recommend a fall wedding here with the foliage being so vibrant. 10/10

This was the most perfect venue. They did pretty much everything I had to bring my own photographer and dj but they handled everything else even coordinating with my vendors. They set up decorations but the place comes beautifully decorated and you get things like center pieces and such there I chose to bring own. They did tear down and set up and I had 2 different staff members helping me day of to make sure the day was seemless. The food was the best food I've ever had at a wedding. The bacon salad still lives in my dreams. They were pretty affordable for all that's included I recommend them 100%!

I'm not sure where to start, but from start to finish everything was perfect! We loved the invite to attend the food tasting, it was such a hard choice but we were amazed by the cook to order option and our guests loved it. This accommodated all food allergies and gave an option for the gluten free/vegetarian guests without having to alter our menu. We chose to add on the candy bar/snack option, this was a huge hit with the kids (and we had lots of them). The dj they suggested is very familiar with the place, he sang to our guests during the anniversary song, played our music in the ceremony, and even brought the photo booth which was really fun. We loved the gazebo ceremony, Steve who owns the place married us and we could not have been happier with him. Our guests were seated under the open awning which later turned into the dance floor so weather and sun was not a concern. It was nice to have the bar and dinner area away from the dance floor it gave guests an option to talk without loud music. Tonya was our wedding coordinator and she took care of EVERYTHING. (even all my extra decorations :) I could not think of one thing I would change, the outdoor view and landscape was perfect for photographs. We would choose this venue again in a heartbeat!

The staff here and our coordinator, Ashley, did such an amazing job at making sure everything went smoothly. We also had Steve as our officiant and he did wonderful. Want a venue that will literally do it all for you? This lovely place has an amazing team that helped me be a very hands off bride. They have 3 different spaces to rent on the property that all come with rentable center pieces, linens and included catering with amazing food. All I did was pick colors and my amazing team put together the room and I didn’t have to do anything! The owner, Steve, ordained our service. They have food tastings and can provided you with trusted vendors for DJ/photography/cake needs.

We picked Cheers Chalet for our wedding because of their beautiful area, the fact that they help with set up to take that stress off our shoulders as well as cater the food. Our wedding day went great, and our family could not stop saying how beautiful everything was. The venue also was very receptive to our questions and had someone assigned to help us figure out timelines, decor, and how we wanted the ceremony to go. Plus the food turned out great and people enjoyed watching the meal be prepped in front of them! It was a great, personalized experience!

Cheers Chalet was an absolutely awesome experience. Everyone at cheers was incredibly nice and they genuinely want to make your wedding day stress free and the memory of a lifetime. The catering was great, they decorated beautifully and exactly what I asked for, and not to mention cheers and lakeside are just gorgeous locations anyways. I would absolutely recommend Cheers to any couples who are looking for that perfect all in one place.

I couldn’t be more happy with how things turned out at this location. The nice thing about it is that they don’t charge you an arm and a leg for every little thing. They’re very reasonably priced and they work with you on everything. This was the perfect venue for us. Right from the beginning the planning was so easy and the on-site coordinator helped us with every detail. What I loved most about cheers is how much was included and how they treat you like family. They went out of their way time and time again to make things work for us. On the day of the event the staff went above and beyond to make us and our guests comfortable and everything run smoothly. It’s a little bit of a drive if you’re from Columbus, but it is so worth it!!

This was the perfect venue for us. Right from the beginning the planning was so easy and the on-site coordinator helped us with every detail. What I loved most about cheers is how much was included and how they treat you like family. They went out of their way time and time again to make things work for us. On the day of the event the staff went above and beyond to make us and our guests comfortable and everything run smoothly. The lakeside venue was the best place we could have had our wedding. Amazing staff, Steve was great to work with, our coordinator was literally the best. We had a smaller wedding (65/70 guests tops), so everyone had plenty of room to sit, chat and be merry with us, and separating the DJ from the main dining room really kept the atmosphere great. The hall is beautifully decorated, you just need some centerpieces to bring it all together.

The lakeside venue was the best place we could have had our wedding. Amazing staff, Steve was great to work with, our coordinator was literally the best. Cheers is beautiful! We had the best wedding imaginable out at Cheers! It was positively magical! They worked with us through a pandemic, they answered my many, many questions. And not only did they respond, they did so rather quickly! Making my planning process so much easier! They had us out for a vendor fair, let us try different foods and helped is narrow our options down! They were flexible and just all around wonderful to work with! Bailee was our coordinator at the venue and she is seriously the best!!! The owners spoke with us on several occasions and Tanya was also super helpful!!We loved that the Mongolian feast let our guests with allergies avoid things they can’t have and let our picky eaters avoid what they don’t like!! Everyone is still ranting and raving about how delicious it was and they loved getting to make it their own personal meal!! We are “foodies” and we love to eat! The food at cheers tops all expectations!! We cannot go without saying that the catering staff were also just the best!! They made sure our guests were cared for and were so attentive to us all night! They even brought the appetizer tray out to those of us taking pictures while they were being served in the reception hall!! Honestly the best service around, combined with the best food, I just couldn’t have asked for more!!!

All of the staff (servers, hostess, decorators, bartenders, parking lot attendants, chefs and kitchen staff, etc.) were helpful and just so cheerful and nice. They set our minds at ease and we were able to just enjoy the evening. Our experience with Cheers Chalet was incredible. We booked our venue before COVID and Cheers made sure that if we couldn't have the wedding we wanted, they would help move our wedding at no cost. However, we did not need to move our day and had the most perfect day we could ask for. We had our ceremony at the chapel in the woods. My husband and I are nature-holics and dreamed of a boho wedding. This ceremony spot was beyond perfect. With the lights hangoing in the trees and the smells of the trees and the lake, there was very little \"decoration\" that we needed to do to pull off this boho wedding. In addition to, we had the reception at the lakeside venue, which we also had to do very little because the space is permanently decorated with beautiful lighting, leaves, and branches that pulls the nature into every aspect of the night. Midway through the night, we had a bonfire and guests were able to spread out into the woods and lake or they could get down with us on the dance floor. This was perfect, especially with a pandemic going on. Penny and Steve are absolutely amazing and truely care about every wedding they have on their property. The week of the wedding, there was a water break in the lakeside venue and Penny immediately scrambled to find a fix so that we could make our day possible. Also, our coordinator Bailee and the rest of the Cheers crew spent countless emails and phone calls to help us plan this day right.We decided to do the pasta bar, and let me just say I've received so many compliments about it. Between the show of watching the servers flip pans through fire and the quality of the food was too notch. This was perfect for all types of eating preferences, including mine which is vegan. We also had the fajitas at the rehearsal, and my mouth is still watering thinking about them.Most venues supply a small room for a bridal suite. Cheers had an entire small house with two rooms and a bathroom that we were able to do touch ups in. And it was decorated with care. We took photos both before and after the ceremony. There was no shortage of great backdrops including beautiful flower gardens, woods, ponds, lakes and even an Emu!

This venue had an extremely poor response to COVID. With a severely immune-compromised mother, and a family that has a lot of elderly, I expected a more sympathetic response. I had reached out to the venue at the beginning of covid voicing my concerns, in which they explained they weren’t rebooking for my date. By the time they would’ve began rebooking for my dates, Ohio laws had been changed back to allow large wedding receptions. We did not feel comfortable hosting 150 guests and we tried desperately to work with the venue on a smaller wedding. The venue was going to hold us to our minimum which would’ve covered 150 guests, regardless of what size we felt comfortable with. They stated because the state allowed it they are not contractually obligated to make exceptions. Only when I said I was going to be cancelling my booking did they offer an alternative date, only Friday winter dates, despite paying for a summer Saturday (double the cost). We were willing to push it until 2021 but they would not give us the option. We decided to cancel our booking. We know we signed a contract stating no refunds but we never dreamed a pandemic would hit. We had been making payments for nearly 8 months and they refused to give us any percent of our money back. Once again I tried to be understanding and work with them, we were okay with losing the deposit. But they took and kept the payments we had made for food, bar, and service knowing they would not be providing them. They kept thousands of dollars. It was extremely disappointing.If you are booking during COVID, I would be prepared if anything unexpected happens, they will not be willing to work with you.

I can't remember how my wife and I found cheers, as Lancaster was a little bit more \"destination\" distance for us. To be honest we didn't really have a good idea of what the venue had to offer based on their website, so we decided to at least take a visit. As we pulled up, we still weren't sure of the place ... after 10-15 minutes of touring with Steve (the owner) my wife fell in love with it, and we were handing Steve a check for the deposit. I don't need to go through all of the details, but the staff made our wedding seamless! We had quite a bit of our own decorations, and we dropped everything off the day before and the staff had everything perfectly in it's place for the day, we didn't have to do a thing! All that was left for us to do was enjoy our beautiful wedding! If you want an affordable price tag, with a dream-come-true experience, Cheers Chalet is the place! Thank you so much to Steve, Penny, and their wonderful staff!

We can not say enough about what a great experience we had at Cheers Chalet! Getting married during a pandemic was obviously not ideal but our coordinators Olivia and Bailey kept us in the loop and made our wedding day so perfect and special that we didn't have any stress, questions, or huge changes that altered our day. The food was great, the service was great, and the venue is beautiful. They were also very welcoming and accepting of our same sex wedding and never batted an eye. Highly, Highly recommend!

My wedding was more perfect than I could have imagined. First of all, Cheers is absolutely beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. My wife and I had our wedding their May 18, 2019. I cannot express enough how easy Jennie made everything for us. We both felt super comfortable for the entire process and never felt pressured for any reason at all. The food was also absolutely amazing. We had the “Build Your Own Pasta Bar” along with chicken Parmesan. If you tell them about any allergies, they are on it and make sure that you and your guests are taken care of. I highly recommend having your wedding at Cheers (Lakeside is gorgeous). Most of the venues that we had looked at made us absolutely sick to our stomachs with the price, but I think we got a fair deal with Cheers and I didn’t feel like we were being taken advantage of at any point. They will make this the most stress-free process!

Lets start with the good. My husband and I loved our wedding and over all the day was absolutely perfect. We had our ceremony at the chapel and reception at lakeside. The decor and everything was put together so perfectly and certain staff went above and beyond what we expected for our wedding day. But there were a few things that I was not happy about. First being the names on their sign that they have when guests enter. our ceremony was a 4:30 so guests started showing at 4. We mentioned to a staff member at 3 that the names had not been changed from the previous night event and our guests were going to start to show and the staff member replied \"not my issue\" it was then mentioned again to who ever was in charge of cooking our food while she was in the office and she shrugged it off as no big deal. what upset us is neither of these employees helped us find help for it. Finally, we were able to find Jennie and she changed it right away, but by that time most of our guests had shown and it seemed almost pointless. We just felt that the first two employees we talked to didn't care enough for our event, when we were paying for it. and they should of at least contacted someone to change it. The second issue was that in our timeline we had provided on multiple occasions, salad was supposed to be served to our guests at 6pm to allow us a little more time to take pictures, but it was not served till 6:20 pushing our timeline out a bit, dinner was also late to be served. Why work so hard on a timeline if it wasn't followed? Over all our event was beautiful and besides the staff mentioned above, everyone was very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the open houses, and they were always well put together. If you get the chance to work with Jennie, do it! Our hostess, Lauren, was very helpful and pleasant to work with as well.

I have photographed weddings at both venues, as well as been IN a wedding here. All three times, I have been impressed. As a wedding photographer myself, with additional experience in wedding event catering, I couldn't find anything to critique. The staff was friendly and helpful. They maintained a clean dining room without being obtrusive to the guests. The bartender remembered my ordered every time I went up for a drink. Everything was decorated and ready to go upon arrival. They addressed any issues that came up (like when one of our wedding guests went to the wrong location and had to have a coordinator retrieve his wedding card from the wrong box... lol), and were helpful throughout the day. The space is beautiful, especially with the recent updates (my best friend was SO excited about the barn doors).

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We were so happy that we chose Lakeside for our wedding venue. We used the chapel in the woods for our ceremony. It was so beautiful with the pond/ wooded area in the background. the reception hall is just a short walk from there and is also gorgeous with the strung lights and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. If the venue itself wasnt perfect enough, the staff was also incredible. They helped with our set up/tear down. Anything we needed help with, they were on it. Our coordinator Tanya was a godsend too. She was so organized and instructed the staff perfectly. We had transfers from the ceremony to the reception and she completed it so seamlessly. i didnt even notice her doing it. She even carried my food from the food station to my seat to make sure i didnt spill anything on my wedding dress. So sweet.

Brian and I could not have been more in love with our wedding venue. We are still getting compliments on how romantic the venue was. We loved the light decor the venue provides, the pictures friends have been sharing are absolutely gorgeous and we cannot wait to receive our official ones from our photographer! Caley was our event coordinator and she was so sweet. She attended to every detail the way we wanted it and our dining set up was gorgeous! We went with the pasta bar for our dinner option and guests LOVED it, we had so many positive remarks about the food. Our guests had a fabulous experience and are still giving compliments to the venue, so we couldn't be happier with our special day!

Brian and I could not have been more in love with our wedding venue. We are still getting compliments on how romantic the venue was. We loved the light decor the venue provides, the pictures friends have been sharing are absolutely gorgeous and we cannot wait to receive our official ones from our photographer! Caley was our event coordinator and she was so sweet. She attended to every detail the way we wanted it and our dining set up was gorgeous! We went with the pasta bar for our dinner option and guests LOVED it, we had so many positive remarks about the food. She had great insight and executed our dream perfectly. Tanya was also incredible! She worked with us from the start of our wedding planning through the wedding day. She and Caley made sure the entire day ran smoothly. The food is to die for! The top sirloin and loaded mashed potatoes were my favorite! Our day was absolutely perfect in every way, and it would not have been made possible without the help of the Cheers staff!

I can't express how amazing this place is. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but the staff was friendly and helpful. They were responsive from the moment I called inquiring about our date, and everything inbetween. We had a perfect day, Tanya was always around running things. The food was good, (I only wish I would have taken the time to eat more). They let us run around three whole property taking photos where ever we wanted. They were amazing to us. I couldn't be happier with my experience. Everyone should get married here : )

I can't express how amazing this place is. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but the staff was friendly and helpful. This venue is fantastic- perfect size for our group (165 guests), and gorgeous! Plenty of beautiful flowers and trees that light up at night. The reception looked amazing, and we were very pleased with the staff both in the planning process, and in making the day go so smoothly! If there were any problems, I didn't know about them, so they really took off the stress for the couple and did all the work! Definitely recommend!

Overall I had a wonderful experience with Cheers. The best part is they set up and take everything down for you. I love that they had recommended vendors, which we used and were happy with. The food was AMAZING. I got SO many compliments from the guests about how amazing the food was. They made the whole process so easy. Caley was who we worked with for the majority of the time and we LOVED her. She is so so sweet and so quick to respond to any questions or concerns. There are a few complaints I have however. Rachel, our event coordinator for the rehearsal and actual wedding day was AWFUL. We had SO many complaints not only from our wedding party but from guests too. She was rude to my wedding party, made horrible comments to them during rehearsal and the ceremony. She also showed up to the wedding in a SKIN TIGHT bright red dress which her spanks showed out of the bottom. So embarrassing when guests continue to ask all night who she is and why she's dressed the way she is. I also didn't like that we didn't even meet her until rehearsal when she was the one we would be working with the most when it came to the actual wedding. I wish we could have had Caley instead. Again, overall cheers was wonderful, the setting is absolutely beautiful and we had the best day. I would just NOT recommend working with Rachel if it can be avoided.

October 14th 2017 wedding: The wedding turned out great but it was a rocky start at first.The owner and wedding planners are all very nice but all of different pages. One person tells you something and then the other says another.We had trouble with the first wedding planning due to clash of personalities and email exchange was slow. But when we switched it got better. We got married at lakeside.Tanya did an awesome job setting up.We couldn’t set up the day before due to a wedding so I gave her all the decorations and she set up that morning.She sent me pictures to make sure nothing was missed and nothing was! Wedding ceremony was perfect.The reception was okay: the bartender had flat coke but my mom told Tanya and that was fixed right away.Had problem with two different types of beer being warm. I actually had to put ice in mine.Bartender was pouring liquor that wasn’t included in the package and then making guests pay for it.I told one the the helpers to talk with him and Then Bartender was telling guests we got the cheaper package so they would have to pay.After the wedding was over the staff lost some of my boxes and they were just throwing stuff into boxes and not packing it up nicely. Doesn’t sound like a issue but I had stuff every where.But... with all that being said I am still very happy we picked cheers. The food was excellent (small issue with the cook forgetting to give guest pasta when it was a pasta bar).But all of my guests said it was the best food they ever had at a wedding .And all of the decorations were setup lovely.

She offered expertise and advice when I needed it while still deferring to and honoring the vision we had for our wedding. The execution on our wedding day was phenomenal: we received numerous compliments on how wonderful the food was and how professional the staff were. Overall, I was very happy with our wedding taking place at Cheers Chalet. Tanya was our coordinator and she was very prompt in returning any phone calls or emails when we had questions. The staff that worked the evening of our wedding where awesome! Everyone loved how personable the bartender was. The venue is beyond gorgeous and all decorations were set up exactly how I envisioned them, without having to do any of the work. This is an amazing venue, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a classy, outdoor, or rustic environment. There was an unfortunate mix-up with our dinner though. I don't know how it got missed but we were supposed to have a vegetarian option with dinner, and it didn't get made. There were several guests who did not get to have meal because of this mistake, and I was very disappointed. Other than that, it was absolutely flawless.

They were so flexible with us in our decisions and worked closely with us to make sure our day was just perfect. They handled setup and cleanup, saving our friends and family lots of time. The venue itself is perfectly gorgeous. It's a little bit of garden party and a little bit of rustic; a perfect blend for what we were looking for. I loved that there was a little bridal suite hut to get ready for me and my girls!Cheer's catering was delicious. We had many comments on how tasty the food was. We had Southwestern chicken egg rolls that were the BEST. Taco bar was our main meal and for dessert we had make-your-own s'mores and some Buckeyes on the side. Everything was delicious and I wish I could have eaten more!Thank you for making our wedding the absolute best day ever!!! It was truly magical <3.

Cheers Chalet Lakeside was so beautiful for my daughters wedding. The staff was always very helpful and the food was very good! The reception area was just perfectly decorated!

Wedding Date 19-11-2016
Our wedding was on 11/19/16 and it happened to be the 1st day it snowed in Ohio this year. Cheers was so accomdating to ensure that things went smoothly despite the snow and were okay with last minute changes to keep the bridal party from freezing outside. Rachel and Tanya were also very accomodating when our hotel flooded so we had family members trying to get everyones stuff out and they let us start the ceremony late to give them a chance to make it back. The venue looked beautiful as ever, the new barn doors in the desk area made a beautiful back drop, and all the decor was set up perfectly. The food was AMAZING, i heard nothing but great comments from guests. I would suggest to anyone wanting a unique venue, a little bit off the beaten path, with a rustic and nature like vibe, then Cheers is your place.

The food was amazing! My whole family raved about the Backyard BBQ and the biscuit bar. The champagne they served was good too. They have open houses 2 times a year. I went to one of them and it really helped me decide what to pick for the reception. It was all a hit!

Cheers Chalet was the first venue I visited. I had researched many many venues, but once I saw the pictures of the venue I fell in love. We got married at Cheers and it was amazing. The staff was great and very helpful the entire way through! From the beginning of the wedding planning to the end of the wedding day!

They made my wedding day perfect, even came up with ideas to make it better. I had a Disney theme wedding and they worked with the dj to coordinate an entrance for the dinner portion, it was wonderful. Didn't have to worry about a thing everything was taken care of , and the location was beautiful!

The only thing keeping it from being perfect was the reception room was very warm, the air conditioning needed turned on higher or more fans need to be added for guests, wedding party, and especially the bride and groom.
