Cheyenne Mountain Colorado Springs, A Dolce Resort Reviews

We got married 9/2/2023 and can’t say enough good things about the venue! We had both or ceremony & reception on-site and used the hotel for the room block. Rooms: the rooms were so clean, 90% of our guests stayed on property over the long weekend. Everyone loved the ease of access to all events and the hotel amenities. The presidential suite was amazing as well! We still get compliments to this day about how much fun people had at the resort and visiting Colorado Springs! Ceremony: we had our ceremony on the Tava Green and it could not have been more perfect; the Mountain View’s were amazing. So many guests raved about that as well. They had water stations set up which many of our guests appreciated. The shuttles ran smoothly as well; this was a big concern of mine! Cocktail Hour: we had our cocktail hour at the Cheyenne Courtyard; it was the perfect space. They were able to accommodate our three piece string ensemble as well! The food they serve was also amazing; most weddings the food is blah but guests loved the passed apps! Reception: our reception was in the Cheyenne ballroom and it was the perfect space! They were able to accommodate staging for an 11 price band which was a big priority for us. Again the serve is exceptional! We have received so many compliments on the food and the staff! Even 2 months later my mom is still going on and on about the potatoes that were served. Even some of the most critical people were blown away by the meal options. Sable, Bobbie & Team were amazing to work with! We seriously felt so well taken care of at ever step of the way. They went above and beyond for us answering ever crazy question I sent their way. Our day would not of been as amazing as it was without their hard work! Reviewed on 09-11-2023

Syd Pin(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2021 This review is for a wedding: Gorgeous venue but unfortunately the staff are completely unresponsive when handling requests or questions during the planning stages. We almost never heard back from our contact in a timely manner (i.e. no response up to 3 weeks after following up multiple times via phone and email); our wedding planner actually had to go to the resort in-person and hunt down our contact to get our questions answered on multiple occasions. If you are someone who likes to plan in advance, don't use this venue. You will be stressed beyond belief trying to finalize details up to the day before your wedding. They also double booked our wedding date once so we had to move it, then again on the day-of by holding 2 weddings at the same time. We could hear the other couple saying their vows at the same time as us....Additionally, you will be nickel and dimed with a 20%+ service fee on nearly every charge. Finally, we've been billed 3 different times, 2 times with no itemization or explanation on why it wasn't included in the initial bill. When we sign a contract that says the final amount is due on the day-of the wedding, it's frustrating to be billed again and again a month later. The accommodations are subpar and the hotel is a shell of what it used to be. The rooms are old and dated, with an apart lack of consideration to renovate from the 1980s. There are plenty of gorgeous locations in the Springs that would have been a better option than having to deal with the quality of resort and staff. If I could do it again, I would not get married here. Reviewed on 23-11-2021
Shelly Koch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2019 This was the most perfect venue for our wedding and our wedding reception. Stephanie was wonderful to work with for all the planning that went into making made our day so special! Captain Steve was great with all things food and drink! It was an incredible day and the place was gorgeous. The presidential suite was absolutely stunning and a PERFECT place to get ready for the big day. We are SO happy we chose Cheyenne Mountain Resort and have received so many compliments on how wonderful the venue was. Reviewed on 28-10-2019
Alyssa Hickert(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2019 Pros: Absolutely beautiful location. The resort rooms were all recently renovated, so they look nice for guests. The bridal suite was stellar, with tons of space to get ready including an outdoor \"yard\" where we ended up taking many photos. Food for our wedding was DELICIOUS, and many guests commented on the great food as well as the great service. The catering staff were friendly, helpful and professional! And again, the food was great. I saw some reviewers commented that they had difficulty getting around the campus, we did not have this problem. Bus was waiting for us, to take us down to the golf course for photos after the ceremony. Cons: It's a conference resort. Unless your event is outside the wedding season of April-October, you will not be the only wedding or big event happening that month. You may not even be the only wedding happening that day... We didn't have any problems in this regard, we worked with Bobbie and she was attentive and professional. She was also hands-on, and responsive on our wedding day. However, I know communication is not always the most responsive because of the number of other events that may be happening at any one time. If you are able to stay on top of things or have a coordinator taking care of details on the day (we used Ariana at Forever Yours Weddings with amazing results), I think the Cheyenne Mountain Resort is a lovely wedding location! Note: I also know they have changed event coordinators since mid-2019, so negative reviews from prior to May 2019 may no longer apply. Reviewed on 08-07-2019
Edward Kipp(groom)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-08-2018 Upon arriving and seeing this place we were amazed at the views and how awesome it would look for our pictures. That is about all I can say positive about this place. The planning part wasn't horrible but when you send a email and need an answer it is frustrating when it take two+ weeks and then you have to reach out again just to make sure they respond. Our guests had a number of issues with their rooms from rat feces on balconies, dirty showers, non-working irons (almost every room) non-working AC, door locks malfunctioning and overall dissatisfaction for the price. The promised \"Executive Suite\" was a normal room with a couch that wasn't even mountain facing. It was also not even ready before a 5 o'clock ceremony. As the groom, I needed a nice room to get ready in and they failed at that. We did get conference room with a few mirrors. The bridal suite had temperatures well into the 80's which caused makeup and hair to have to be redone more than once. Then came the pictures. We were promised a bus to take you around the resort so we were not forced to walk up hills and around the resort. We requested a bus numerous times with none showing up. Bridal party was forced to walk down to the golf course on their own. When bus was called to take them back, it again was a no show. This caused us to be backed up 15-20 minutes. After the ceremony the bus was once again needed to take full party pictures. We waited for 20 minutes for the driver who conveniently left. Again, forcing us behind on the schedule. They then badgered us that we were behind. While finishing up pictures, the head catering manager began yelling at guests and getting into peoples faces about \"his food\" and \"his show\" getting messed up. If this wasn't bad enough, when we arrived back for the reception, the room was again in the 80's and very uncomfortable. We were told the AC was on full and there was nothing they could do about it. During the dinner, our photographers overheard the servers bad mouthing guests blatantly. When superiors were made aware of it, they seemed appalled but took no action. While checking out, we asked who we should speak to to resolve the issues and were given the card of the managing director. He refused to respond to any email and passed it along. The manager that did respond then blamed the elderly mother of the bride and bridal party for walking and not waiting on the buses that never showed up. He also defended his servers and said they did nothing wrong. It has been three weeks with no resolution from them. This is the last thing I thought I would have to deal with from a \"RESORT\". It was quite embarrassing when our guests described the condition of rooms, and for most people who traveled 1,000+ with us from Chicago, it was a complete waste of money. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. The views can be found elsewhere for the same money. Find a venue that wants to make sure they go above and beyond. All our other vendors in Colorado were wonderful. We in fact loved every aspect of our wedding that was not controlled by Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Reviewed on 04-09-2018

Jenna Arroyo(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2015 We would have given Cheyenne Mountain Resort an overall rating of \"5\" and a service rating of \"5\" except for some issues we had after the catering manager we had been working with ended up leaving four months after we booked Cheyenne Mountain Resort as our venue. While the resort was trying to fill his position, communication was lacking. We had several items outstanding we'd discussed with the previous catering manager and it was very difficult to get a response. We also had a fairly large payment due at the end of 2014, and we tried to communicate regarding making the payment, and received no response until a week or two into January 2015. \r\rThat being said, once we began communicating with their new wedding/event coordinator, Hileigh, things began moving much more smoothly. I cannot say enough about Hileigh. She was great in the weeks leading up to our wedding (since we came in from out of state), and worked with us when our guest count was significantly less than we had expected. She made sure the rehearsal went smoothly. Our wedding ceremony and reception were amazing. They wouldn't have turned out the way they did without Hileigh's hard work. Reviewed on 19-07-2015

Go here, and work with John Kerr. If you do not read anything else about this place, that is all you need to know. He will make anything you need/want happen.\r\rAfter meeting John at one of the wedding shows in Denver, and visiting the resort, we were sold. We looked at several other venues after, and they could not compare to what you get when having your wedding and/or reception at Cheyenne Mountain Resort.\r\rThat is just the beginning. We really could write pages of what John did for us. For an entire year he was on top of every email, and phone call we sent him. Often times this included us as the bride/groom, as well as the mother and father of the bride contacting him with their own questions at the same time.\r\rJohn covered every detail of the evening, down to a separate plate for a picky eater in our party. \r\rWhen you book your wedding here, you must reserve the Presidential Suite. During cocktail hour, this was a great location for the wedding party to relax, as well as large enough to take people back for an after party when the reception is over! Reviewed on 06-05-2014

Gina Chaney(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2012 I couldn't be happier!! Not long after my new husband and I picked a wedding date last year (for October 13th THIS year), we decided to shop around early to make sure we got the location we wanted. Location was by far one of the most important aspects of the wedding and reception for us.\r\rTravis Blaney (Director of Food and Beverage Dept) was the first one we talked to and he set us up with John Kerr, Wedding Extraordinaire!!! From there we had gone over the basics. Since we had booked it so early we had time to throw different ideas and guest numbers at him before the big day. We also had a tasting where all of the food was PHENOMINAL! We both had a really hard time choosing. (I do suggest trying the mini beef wellingtons as one of the Hors D’ Oeuvres, one of my absolute favorites.) The tasting was seet up so elegantly, even with champagne to toast and celebrate the occasion, ending with chocolate covered strawberries. \r\rThe entire year went by so fast the when it came down to crunch time, I was stressing about too many RSVP's and John just kept me calm and just worked it out for us.\r\rCome the day of, Ashley (part of the team at the resort) helped John pull of an AMAZING outdoor ceremony. The weather held out for our fall wedding and it was flawless. After the ceremony the cocktail hour rocked and there were many smiling guests.\r\rThe reception we decided on buffet instead of plated, and it did NOT dissappoint. The chefs did an amazing job preparing everything and we have had nothing but rave reviews, even to this day a few weeks later. \r\rThe service there is unparralleled. Every single person working the event from the bottom up took pride in every aspect of their job, making sure that everyone was happy, and transitioning into every moment seamlessly.\r\rNot only will I tell everyone how amazing the venue is, but I will never stop raving about the staff. They truly care about their service and it shows. Every one of them has a place in my heart for making my most important day their most important day at the time. Those are the kinds of memories I will keep for a lifetime, to share with my babies and their babies. \r\rThe price was well worth everything we got! It is hard to put a price on the service itself, as they are above all measure. The food, the options, the views, the rooms, the staff. I highly recommend this venue, and will stand by their work as a customer. I will continue to give the report my patronage. Reviewed on 31-10-2012

We just held our daughter’s wedding at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and I could not be happier. First of all, John Kerr, the catering manager is a joy to work with. He is friendly, relaxed and very helpful. Our wedding was a destination wedding so I depended on him so much! I asked hundred’s of questions and he always answered them quickly and even sent me several pictures since I couldn’t always be there in person to see things for myself. Everything went very smoothly for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was help on a terrace with the mountain in the background and had such a breathtaking view. The reception room was gorgeous and perfect for the small wedding of 50 guests that we had, we really enjoyed the attached terrace when we needed a break from the dancing! The staff that worked the event was helpful and friendly and even joined in on some of the fun. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere relaxed – even the bride and groom had time to eat! I can’t tell you how many of our guest told me it was the “most fun they had ever had at a wedding”. I know they were telling the truth because it was true for me also. I cannot thank the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and staff enough for hosting a great wedding. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a beautiful venue for their wedding. Abigail Anrico(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2011 The Cheyenne Mountain Resort caterers are fantastic chefs! The food at my wedding was absolutely amazing. I was so impressed. The only thing I was not impressed with was one server, who I think got removed from working my wedding, because she wouldn't help me get my food from the buffet. She wouldn't open the turrets and I had to lean far over to get the food in order to not get any on my dress. She stood there and did nothing. Our DJ ended up helping me, which was not his job at all. Other than that, the rest of the servers were fantastic, and the food was the best food I've ever eaten. Reviewed on 09-08-2011

Krista Cotton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2011 Cheyenne Mountain Resort was the perfect place for our wedding - Cheyenne Mountain stands as teh back drop for the resort. We held our ceremony and reception both here. Our hopes of a ceremony with a mountain view were close to not happening because of pending construction but the staff stood behind us and made it happen! It was beautiful and we had so many positive comments on scenery from the ceremony! For the reception, we were able to reserve the rooms with a gorgeous full-wall window view again of the mountains in the background. The menu was full of options, and we chose to do a buffet with a pasta saute action station. We have heard so many positive comments about how amazing the food was, and we couldn't agree more! The wait staff and bartenders were so kind and made the perfect addition to reception. The atmosphere was just perfect. The event coordinator was so helpful and set up a suite for the guys to get ready in and the girls had a separate room as well. They did a great job setting up both the chairs/settings for the ceremony and also the reception room. When one of our vendors failed to deliver on time and failed to deliver our centerpieces, the staff was able to supply us with centerpieces - not one of the guests knew what was happening. I would absolutely recommend Cheyenne Mountain Resort for any wedding or reception. They have a variety of ceremony sites as well as reception rooms. Knowing you have a venue where you know the staff will fully take care of you was a huge comfort for such a big day in your life!! Reviewed on 30-06-2011

Malissa Ortiz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-07-2006 It was a modern, high-quality hotel with good indoor venues at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, which provided a beautiful backdrop. Also, the costs were predictable since so much was included in the wedding package. The food and waitstaff were also excellent, and our package provided us with a great variety of courses to choose from.;1. The room block booking process was completely botched. We were not informed when the block was filled, as promised, and then the hotel filled up and some of our guests were shut out of staying there. 2. The resort neglected to tell us that the pastry chef left the hotel, and was later 'contracted' to create our cake. The cake he created was completely different from what we had agreed to in writing. The resort gave us a partial refund of the cake's cost, but we will never get that cake cutting moment back. 3. The set up staff the morning of our ceremony incorrectly placed our chairs (wrong number of seats in each row), and we had to make staff come back to fix them before the ceremony. Altogether, it was a beautiful place and we still had a wonderful wedding day, but it took much too much of our attention to keep them in line. Reviewed on 10-05-2010
