Morgan Fink(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2022 We loved the Marriott for our hotel option!!! Our guests loved the rooms and the lobby was fun to hang out in after we got back from our reception. We were able to coordinate a breakfast the day after the wedding (they do not allow outside food/drink to be catered in just FYI), and everyone was super helpful and accommodating, especially when it came to distributing welcome bags to our guests when they checked in. No shuttles were available to bring our guests back and forth from the venue to the hotel, but it was only a 10 minute drive. Highly recommend! Reviewed on 26-10-2022

Beth Cox(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-06-2019 This was THE WORST part of my otherwise flawless wedding. I don’t normally write reviews, but if I can save one bride the stress this place caused, this review is worth it. I booked my block OVER a year in advance, and up until the week of my wedding, this hotel painted a picture that it would be great, but that is not what happened. (Background that my husbands family is all from the East coast, therefore all needed rooms, we ended up having close to 30 rooms booked) I’ll just list all the terrible things that happened. First, I requested early check in numerous times and was told “it would be noted.” Check in is at 3:00, and when I arrived at 2:57, they informed me my room wasn’t ready. After I questioned what time check in was—they decided my room was ready. We were given a “junior suite,” and when my dad went to ask if this was their bridal suite they told him I “never requested the bridal suite.” So my fault for thinking that booking through the event coordinator with a wedding block indicated a bridal suite...that’s not the case with this hotel I guess. So after my dad complained, and about 45 minutes of waiting and trying to figure out what to do— we were finally moved to a different room. The next day when my bridal party checked in (5 rooms), the rooms again were not ready, after specifically requesting early check in for them as well. After over an hour of waiting and numerous phone calls to the front desk (all while trying to take pictures for the wedding) the rooms still were not ready, but they had other rooms on the same floor they could give—why they didn’t do that right away instead of the hour wait is beyond me. Then, at the end of the night, we had too many guests that would not fit in the shuttle back to the hotel, so we called to see if they could send an additional shuttle (especially since the bride and groom did not fit in) and they hung up on my maid of honor after abruptly saying “we’ve sent the last shuttle. There’s no more.” Lastly, when we checked out, they told us that we were required to pay for our room on our wedding night...which was supposed to be included in our block. All in all, this hotel was not accommodating, was not helpful, and really made it clear they do not care about making not only a bride, but a customer who brought them a lot of business happy. If you have another option for your wedding (which you definitely do in the area) use it. Kristin Hansen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2016 Booking Marriott in Naperville was the first and one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding, and we visited like 10 places. Their packages START with a 5 hr package and name-brand liquor, chivari chairs, and that's rare. Victoria is a ROCK STAR wedding planner. She really wants your day to be successful and has the best suggestions to make tailored to you. I never worried, and she let me be as hands-off or hands-on as I wanted. She was quick to respond, customized the package to our budget, helped us pull off some nice projection of old photos and videos. I didn't even see the space until after my ceremony at Cantigny. I just dropped a bunch of boxes in her office and told her to get wild and lay it all out. And she did, and being in events myself, that was NOT easy, and I STILL had zero concerns because her quality of character and knowledge/creativity is masterful. The food was great (crab cakes =winner...dim sum appetizer, UM YEAH...), the cake was BELOVED by guests. They grow their own honey on the roof and make honeycake. I even sent a picture to Victoria of these fake tealights on drape for the head table backdrop, and we made it happen! Yes, Marriott is an awesome company, but it's really VICTORIA you're getting...and she's worth every dang penny. The front desk needs some help...they dropped the ball on our room block rate a few times when our guests tried to reserve, and although our wedding party was promised to surround the hospitality suite we got, there were random guests next door who ended up giving us a noise complaint. But they let us party in the lobby until 3AM, so it wasn't bad. ;) MINOR details. Did I mention Marriott is now the largest hotel chain and you'll get major travel points? That was a perk we didn't think about until we booked. We had a southwest card, and since marriott's a partner....our venue bill got us double points. We have like 4 roundtrips now. AND you get 50,000 marriott points. If you do it right, a chunk of your honeymoon is already paid for. Of course it feels trivial to talk about front desk and airline points when I could be bragging about Victoria, the venue staff, chefs, bartenders, and facilities. STELLAR experience, you know how to throw a dang party, Marrriott. :) Reviewed on 17-11-2016
Kelly Krese(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2016 We used this hotel for our block only (not for reception). While it was a beautiful place for our guests to stay, a convenient location, and we liked that there was a bar open to go to after the reception, the service itself was subpar. We may have just come in at a bad time, but there were 2 turnovers of who we worked with on the events team within the 8 months that we were booked with them. The actual people were very nice, but we had 3 separate occurrences of technical difficulties with the block website (it was telling people that there were no rooms left so they were panicking, when actually there were A LOT and we needed to hit a certain number of rooms in order to not get charged), and by the end we were so sick of hearing about issues with their system. It all turned out fine in the end, but it created a lot more work for my family and I. The day after brunch was pretty and the room we had was spacious and private. Reviewed on 15-11-2016

Considering how amazing our reception at the Chicago Naperville Marriott was, I figured I would write another. We worked with Kyra and Tara early on until Victoria came aboard. From the first meeting with Victoria, all my fears and worries went away. I knew everything was in good hands. She was my eyes and ears for everything. Her and I emailed and talked back and forth consistently. She helped all my ideas come alive from the ties on the the chair to our unique \"U\" shaped head table. She was always easy to get in contact with and always replied right away. The tasting process at the Chicago Naperville Marriott is also amazing. The table you sit at is set up of a mock of how the real table would be with the chairs and linen etc. You get to taste EVERYTHING with regular portion sizes. On the day of our wedding, everything was beyond perfect. Victoria was there when the reception to make sure things went as planned. The staff was definitely great. My husbands great father was unable to stay for the dinner, and they were nice enough to pack him his plate to go! Still to this day, people continue to tell us great things about our reception. All of them felt cramped, or cheap, or worn-out, or straight-up cheesy. Then we saw the Marriott, and we knew almost immediately it was what we wanted. It felt homey, while still a little modern, and clean, in good-repair, and just... warm. We met with Victoria, who helped us coordinate everything, and was our eyes and ears for the next 8 months. She guided us through everything from food and cake to linens and decor; we lived nearly two hours away, and were unable to drive up more than a few times, and Victoria made sure we were able to know what was happening, taking photos, drawing illustrations, and more. She was, at times, nearly a mind-reader, making sure that small details we might not have thought of (uplighting, for one) were accounted for. Victoria made the process of planning a reception as painless as we could have hoped! Carolann (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-09-2014 I loved my wedding. It was beautiful, fun, and the best night of my life. But Kyra (Marriott's wedding coordinator) took a while to respond to my emails/calls, she was the least bit attentive to me the day of the wedding, and I'm disappointed with a few other things.\rAbout the ceremony: I had specified (multiple times) that I didn't want a stage. I was not happy to see a stage set up on my wedding day. Well, they left it up. And none of us had prepared for walking up steps. I DIDN'T want to walk up steps in my dress; that was the whole point of not having a stage. How do you mess that up? The wedding details clearly stated \"no stage\" and they set up a stage.\rAs for the reception: we requested amber lighting, we had neon green lights (I'm not kidding. Our colors were red and ivory; you can imagine what the green looked like). We had a candy bar and there were supposed to be bags for the guests to take candy home - no bags (they were going to be the favors, which means the guests left without favors).\rBy the time we got up to our room around 12am, my husband and I were exhausted, starving, and a little irritated, thanks to an extremely annoying videographer.\rWe missed our opportunity to enjoy the food and lovely desserts that had been so happily selected months ago, and I was surprised the Marriott staff didn't package up food for us and leave it in our room, as I know other vendors do.\rThere was a tiny tray of four chocolate covered strawberries on the bed, so we ate those and then finished off a half-eaten bag of snack mix sitting on a table.\rWe stayed at the Marriott two nights and were charged a third. Fortunately, I caught this on our receipt as we were leaving and I went right back to the front desk and they refunded our money, which was nice.\rOh, and one other thing - if we wanted to use wifi in our room, there was a charge of $9.95. For wifi. Come on, even McDonald's has free wifi!\rAll of this aside, yes, I would recommend the Marriott to anyone. Most of these mistakes/disappointments are things only my husband and I were aware of. Everyone who attended our wedding told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Our guests raved about the decor, colorful lighting design, and hotel atmosphere all weekend.\r\rLooking back, we would have selected this venue again and again. Reviewed on 06-10-2013
Discollsam (guest)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2013 We used the Marriott Naperville for a wedding to stay during a friend's wedding weekend. We had a great stay and many guests commented how nice the hotel was. The lobby bar was open late too. Reviewed on 06-10-2013
D M(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2013 My husband and I recently got married at the Chicago Marriott Naperville in mid-September 2013. From the early planning stages to the wedding day itself, Kyra Poulos, the Marriott Wedding Coordinator, worked tirelessly to ensure that we had everything in place. We were so impressed by her attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile, and fun and friendly demeanor that put all of use to ease! The venue itself was incredible and our guests loved their stay. The rooms are new and spacious, and the hotel has great amenities, such as the printing center, the breakfast restaurant, the bar/dining area, the in-hotel Starbucks, and the new patios (which were great mingling spots for guests). The majority of our guests were coming from out-of-state and had never been to the hotel before - Numerous guests complimented the venue and also mentioned how impressed they were at how smoothly everything was run, and how accommodating the hotel management and staff were. I'd highly recommend the Marriott & Kyra to any future brides! We had the perfect wedding! Reviewed on 30-09-2013
Stamp2013 (bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-08-2013 We had both our wedding and reception at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. We had a smaller wedding of about 50 guests. We were able to have our ceremony outside on the patio (the first couple to do so)! The day of the wedding planner Kyra was great, she was literally there every step of the way to make sure things ran smoothly. For all of the services we received the price was great! We were able to customize a wedding package to meet our needs.\r\rThe only complaint I heard was when it came to food allergies. My mom's best friend has severe food allergies and had a special meal ordered, it took them several tries to deliver her the correct meal. Reviewed on 18-09-2013
Arianna Dubovik(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-07-2013 Working with Kyra at the Chicago Marriott Naperville was a delight. She is the nicest lady you will ever work with, and so helpful (she knows her stuff). A friend of ours contacted them about a month or two before our wedding! We had a last minute change and had to find a new venue, all you brides know how stressful this can be. Thing is we didn't have a huge budget and we wanted to be able to self cater the food. It is so difficult to find nice places that allow you to do this. We were able to get everything we needed for the wedding in budget and having the hotel staff take care of everything just made it so much less stressful. I would suggest them to anyone! Kelly Scott(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-07-2013 The Marriot Naperville went above and beyond our expectations. Everyone was extremely helpful! I could not have asked for better quality of service! \r\rOur event coordinator Kyra was EXCEPTIONAL! She made the planning process so easy and our event was beautiful! She went above and beyond! As soon as I got off the limo the bustle of my dress already broke, Kyra took me straight to her office where she sewed it back up. My parents were highly impressed with Kyra as well! While we were off taking pictures she was with my parents showing them the reception room and answering all their questions. We had exceptional service throughout the planning process, during check-in, during the reception, and into breakfast and check-out the next morning. \r\rThe food was amazing! At wedding receptions you typically expect sub-par food, but this could have have been anymore wrong for the Marriott Naperville! We were so impressed by the quality and quantity of food provided! The steak was one of the best steaks I have ever had! The Filet Mignon was huge and cooked perfectly! I never expected the food to be such a highlight of our wedding but it definitely was! Every course of our meal was amazing! The pastry chef did an amazing job with our wedding cake (it tasted like an oreo cake, YUM). We added an additional dessert which was a S'mores Parfait and it was such a hit, we are still hearing our friends and family talk about it!\r\rThe hotel staff was so friendly and accommodating! Every single staff member we encountered dropped what they were doing to answer our questions or accommodate our request. At one point during the dinner service part of my dress got steps on and the bustle came out. I was on my way to the bathroom with my MOH to pin up the fallen pieces and the manager was there as soon was I walked out the reception doors and asked if I needed anything, I told him what I was doing and he said to go back up to the head table and he will call the front desk and find a staff member who could help me. Within minutes one of the front desk girls was on her hands and knees pinning up the pieces of my dress! Everyone was so helpful and kind!\r\rWe would recommend the Chicago Marriott Naperville to anyone we know who is looking for a reception venue! Words really can not express our level of satisfaction! We are so happy that we chose to spend the most important day of our lives at the Chicago Marriott Naperville! Reviewed on 12-08-2013

My dad was especially concerned about the hotel shuttle that would be transporting guests to and from the hotel to the reception site. Kelly was incredibly attentive and available whenever he had a question. \r\rThe rooms were beautiful and the hotel staff did a great job delivering our welcome bags to each guest. Ashley king(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2012 I have nothing but great feelings about this fantastic hotel. I was recently married in May 2012 and I was looking for a local hotel for my wedding guest room block. Since all of my immediate and extended family are from out of state this was very important to me. I met with Wes Graf, salesman of the hotel but at the time it was completely under construction. He was able to sell me on the location with elaborate computer generated photos of what it would look like when it was finished. He also even took me on a hard hat tour! He set up a mock up of what a room would be like just for me. Wes was very responsive to all emails I sent him and even was willing to work with me on price. After the hotel was finished in March 2012 I was finally able to go in and see it for myself and I was blown away. It has a really modern feel to it with it's spacious lobby and huge pool. The rooms are completely new with a desk that swings out and an easy to access outlet above night stand for cell phone charger. The bathrooms have a brand new tile and glass shower and the light switch it activated by your room key. Another cool feature is the fact that they have two Queen beds in a room as opposed to the normal two double beds. One downside to the hotel is that breakfast is additional and not included in your room rate. The breakfast area in the main lobby transforms into a lively bar at night and even some nights includes live music! The have a giant fitness center and a computer room to access the internet. The top level of the hotel is reserved for Marriott rewards members complete with private lounge. They are even in the process of building a Starbucks right off of the lobby. Since the hotel is brand new none of the rooms have that old smoke smell or look stained into the carpet and walls. They even can accommodate business events and weddings. So if you are in the area and need a hotel the Marriott of Naperville is by far the best choice. Reviewed on 06-09-2012
