Danielle Krawiec(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2016 I used the Marriott for my room block for my wedding since it was so close to my venue. Everything with planning went super smooth and great - until the weekend of my wedding. I had family from out of town coming a day early before the special wedding price took effect. They would not honor the price even though they were staying multiple nights. They were told to call closer to the day and maybe they would honor it if they weren't booked up. There were still rooms left over (i know this because I asked myself when they weren't having luck). I spoke with my event manager and they said to call them but this was 10 min before they were due to leave for the day and I didnt get the email until an hour later. My number is on file so I wish I was called. My family ended up having to book another hotel. Also - I had set up way in advance to have a shuttle run from 11:45 til midnight. Most of our guests ended up driving so we only needed 1 shuttle. Right as the shuttle showed up we were playing the final song and one of my bridesmaids went and told the shuttle \"We are just finishing the final song we will all be on right after\" This was a very short song - not like he would be waiting 10 minutes..more like 3. He rudely told my bridemaid \"I guess youll have to uber then\". This is unacceptable when we thought there would be multiple shuttles and there was only 1 and it was not a long wait at all.Lastly My brother had called to ask if we can book an area of the bar for the after party and they said they will not do that because they cannot guarantee they will stay open if nobody is at the bar..even though we just said a bunch of us were coming over. We ended up just having to have a mini after party in the lobby with a cooler. Its a beautiful hotel but the pre-planning went way smoother than the actual event. Sort of a bummer. Divya Rao(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2012 This venue is a blank slate so you can really turn it into whatever you want it to be. The staff is helpful and professional and they treat their customers well. We had a big wedding and it was a one stop shop for all of our guests. For a hotel wedding, you get alot for your money here. Thanks to the ob marriott for creating my dream day. Reviewed on 18-10-2012
Barb Yeung(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2012 I’ve researched several venues before choosing the Marriott in Oak Brook, and I felt like this hotel offered a good balance between quality and price. \r\rAt first glance:\rAlthough the exterior looks fairly old, the interior of the hotel is surprisingly modern. The lobby has a decent sized sitting area with a few TVs, and there is a Starbucks attached as well. I was actually really surprised at how spacious and beautiful the ballroom was compared to the exterior of the hotel. \r\rService: \rOur sales manager was wonderful. She was very negotiable on the cost per plate and included several complimentary additions to our wedding package. Our event manager and I got off to a rocky start at the beginning. She didn’t respond to our emails or messages in a timely manner, and we were told months after the signed contract that there was another event taking place in our ballroom right before our wedding. Even though we were upset that we had to revise the timing of our wedding day, we were able to move past this conflict, and her level of service improved drastically after our confrontation. As our wedding day approached, we felt that she was always there to answer our questions, very accommodating, and understanding.\r\rThe Wedding:\rThe service provided by the hotel before and on our wedding day was flawless. Our event manager was there during our rehearsal to gain an understanding of how our ceremony will run. She always made sure that I had everything I needed and constantly checked up on me to make sure I wasn’t overwhelmed or too stressed. The food was much better than other the food I’ve had at other weddings, and so many of my guests have agreed. The procession of events, vendor setup, and ballroom turnover was seamless. Everything flowed so smoothly, and we were extremely happy with how it all turned out. \r\rI would definitely recommend the Marriott as a wedding venue, especially if you’re looking for a good balance between cost and quality of the hotel. Allison Swiatkowski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-11-2010 I have been to a lot of weddings and we have had a lot of wedding in our family. When we met with Heather at the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook I knew that this was the perfect venue for me. The ballroom was recently redone and updated. It is a grand space. We used one section of the ballroom as a trendy cocktail hour with high boys and low tables and the stunning candle-lit bars with signature martinis. Then the staff held a grand reveal by opening the sliding doors to the rest of the ballroom which was set for our wedding reception. The lighting, pipe and drape, GOBO spotlight and small details were breathtaking. We also received several compliments on the food and service. Heather at the Marriott was very attentive to any requests or needs I wanted from 9 months out to the week before. It was great working with someone who loves weddings and wants each of her weddings to be unique and special. Overall a beautiful space with beautiful service. Email me if you are interested in seeing pictures of the room set. Happy wedding planning! Reviewed on 13-12-2010
