Allison Lima(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 This venue is the perfect mix of classy and FUN! My husband and I have been to over 40 weddings together, so when it was our turn we knew we wanted to have something a little different. Our guests loved the interactive games they could play and fun photo opps during our cocktail hour, and not to mention the unique opportunity to be in such a tourist spot in Chicago on the mag mile (half our guests were from out of state). The food was AMAZING, the bartenders and wait staff were PHENOMENAL, and the overall service the day of our wedding far exceeded expectations. We had our ceremony on the restaurant side of the venue, and reception in the museum part. The space was perfect for our guests (about 180 people), and truly not much decoration is needed! One minor disappointment we had was with our contact at the venue. Multiple times a request or question went unanswered for long periods of time and required multiple follow ups to get what we needed. With all of the craziness of wedding planning, the lack of response definitely added unneeded stress to our plate. Once answered, we got what we needed and all worked out well in the end. The only advice to management is to make sure the people coordinating the event have quicker response times and place an emphasis on customer service. Despite that fact, we would absolutely rate this venue 5 stars and recommend it to anyone and everyone. It was absolutely PERFECT for us and our guests, so fun and modern, and the day turned out flawless! Reviewed on 01-11-2018
Taylar Burns(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-04-2018 We had our ceremony and reception here. The staff here were great. We went to visit several times beforehand, and we never met one person who wasn't friendly, and helpful. The planning process was a bit of a struggle, only because the time to get a response back from the venue was a bit long. When we did hear back, our questions were always answered. We also were not told when we signed the contract they require you to have a wedding planner/day-of-coordinator to have your ceremony/reception there. It was a surprise to us, but ended up being one of the best things we could have done. So, make sure you have a little extra in your budget for the wedding planner/day-of-coordinator. We had our tasting for the wedding, which was awesome. They really treated us like royalty during the tasting. We were able to make easy decisions on the food we were going to have the night of. The day of the wedding for the most part went smoothly. There were a few bumps and bruises in there, but we knew every wedding has those. 1 thing that did not go over as well as we hoped, was something we planned out beforehand with the venue's event coordinator (Veronica), but the day of during setup, we were told it could not happen. We worked with it, but it was a surprise to us as it was promised to us before the wedding. I do have to point out that the food was not the same quality as the tasting. We were so blown away with how great everything tasted at the tasting, but were disappointed at the quality during the wedding. Other than those pain points, they really did do a good job for us. This place is so unique, and if you are a sports fan, you cannot beat it! The views of the lake and skyscrapers, plus all of the fun Chicago sports memorabilia, and all of the interactive games made our wedding even that more special. Our guests were constantly entertained. They had plenty to look at and do in other parts of the museum when they weren't on the dance floor. I would recommend this as your venue, as long as you are aware issues will most likely occur...but, they did not ruin the day by any means. Reviewed on 07-05-2018
Shari O'Connell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2017 I got married at the Chicago Sports Museum on September 16th, and I've been trying for days to figure out the correct words to use to describe my wedding here. No words do it justice except for Magic. Everything about the day was absolutely magical. The Chicago Sports Museum, and most importantly, Samson! was an absolute dream to work with. From viewing the venue, right down to the day of, I can not say enough incredible things. They were flexible, accommodating, easy to work with, responded quickly to e-mails with questions, and went so far above and beyond my wildest expectations to ensure the day was perfect, and it was.We have had multiple people state the our wedding was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. That would not have been possible without the Chicago Sports Museum.I cannot thank the team, and again, especially Samson, enough for everything they have done for me, and for making September 16th a day that will be talked about within my family and friends for years! From the view, to the food, to the space and the museum, it was magic. If you are considering a unique venue, that is easy to work with, memorable, and just hands down amazing, you NEED to look at this venue!THANK YOU!!! Reviewed on 04-10-2017
Erica Bohac(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-06-2017 We had our wedding here in June and it was AMAZING. The museum and staff are extremely flexible, and can remove a ton of the exhibits that are in the center of the space so you have all the room you need. We had about 150 people and it felt like plenty of space. The staff was unreal. Absolutely no one waited for a drink - we had several guests comment about how refreshing it was to attend a wedding where it actually seemed like there were enough staff members to provide exceptional service. The food options are basically endless. You can opt for plated dinners, a buffet package, or some a combination of several \"stations\". We opted for the latter and it was perfect for us. We had plenty of food, and people had almost endless options. The exhibits and memorabilia made for an awesome experience for our guests. We are both huge sports nuts, but even our guests who aren't loved the games and having something interactive to do (especially while waiting for the wedding party to arrive). They worked flawlessly with all of our vendors - even with Insomnia Cookies (an outside food vendor not associated with Harry Caray's), which we had delivered to serve instead of cake. We served these with the venue's butler-passed mini milkshakes, which was a HUGE hit. You also can't forget to mention the awesome view - our wedding was on Saturday, and so we were treated to a fireworks show at Navy Pier, which we could see perfectly out the windows.I could never write this review and not mention the man behind the curtain - Samson, our event coordinator. He was AMAZING. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we had all of our questions answered and felt prepared and stress-free the day of the event. He met with us as many times as we wanted and answered all of my emails same-day (which can be tough to come by in the wedding industry). If you even KIND OF like sports, this is a truly awesome venue! Reviewed on 05-07-2017
