Historic Cider Distillery and Fine Art Gallery
Cider Gallery is a wedding venue located in Lawrence, KS, just under 40 minutes away from Kansas City and 25 minutes outside of Topeka. The historical building is situated in the vibrant, creative Warehouse Arts District of East Lawrence. Originally a cider distillery, the property has been renovated into a fine art gallery and offers a refined and unique setting for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting your engagement party, wedding shower, or ceremony and reception, Cider Gallery is happy to accommodate your celebration. The building consists of an elegant, art-filled event space that blends historic authenticity with contemporary details. It features exposed brick walls, original wood beams, and expansive windows, resulting in a chic interior where you can say “I do.” With over 5,000 square feet available, you and your loved ones will have plenty of room to create long-lasting memories amidst the quaint yet modern ambience. When hosting at this venue, you are welcome to share your big day with up to 200 guests. To enjoy the fresh air during your festivities, you can also extend your celebration to the adjacent garden patio. Here, you and your partner can exchange vows on the outdoor stage in the sunshine or have your first dance under the twinkling stars. Cider Gallery’s staff will be there to support you on the day of your wedding so that you can spend your time with loved ones. For guidance leading up to your occasion, their team is happy to offer planning options. The event space is equipped with a number of amenities to ensure that your day is as seamless and unforgettable as possible. These include features such as a state-of-the-art sound system as well as wall-mounted monitors and a projector. An on-site bar will be available throughout your event for you and your guests to enjoy. For a memorable reception meal, your caterer of choice can avail of the venue’s spacious, professional warming kitchen.

I loved having our wedding at the Cider Gallery!! Jen and her team were so great to work with - very clear on pricing and expectations for the big day. It was great having such a beautiful venue that came pre-decorated :) I also loved having the option for an outdoor ceremony that could easily be moved indoors if it rained. Finally, the location is fantastic - we had many out of town guests and it was within walking distance to many hotels as well as our after party location. 100% recommend!!!

Cider Gallery is such a beautiful venue. I had my wedding here in April 2021 and have nothing but praise for the location and also their events manager Jennifer!!! We first met Jennifer in 2019 before the pandemic hit when we put down our deposit. She let us tour the space and answered our questions. Cider Gallery is very experienced at hosting weddings and they had printed information prepared that is helpful for planning the wedding and to share with vendors.During the pandemic, Jennifer was very understanding and let us postpone the wedding date with no extra cost or other consequences. From start to finish, Jennifer was very kind and accommodating! It's clear that weddings are her passion as she is very knowledgeable in the topic, offering great advice when needed. The week before our wedding, Cider Gallery spruced up the courtyard in preparation of our outdoor ceremony, adding more sod, new plants in the planters, and extra pea gravel in the paved circle rock area.Jennifer coordinated with our wedding planner as we approached our new wedding date, ensuring everything went smoothly, and provided info about decorating the space. She provided a detailed floor plan for the reception and even rented a sweethearts table for us. We rented our tables and chairs from Cider Gallery and also used them for our bar services with no trouble. They had detailed guidelines and precautions for COVID safety.We were allowed into the venue for an hour during rehearsal on the day before. On the day of the wedding, they let us inside early in the morning for setup and gave us access to the space all day. The owner group also own the Bon Bon restaurant directly next door, and they allowed me to rest there with my family an hour before the ceremony.On the wedding day, my grandmother was needing snacks for energy right before the ceremony, and Jennifer was so kind to provide some food from her personal stash. This small but meaningful thing is so appreciated!Our guests had a great time at Cider Gallery. The wedding ceremony and reception were beautiful, and my husband and I are very happy.

She was incredibly responsive, professional, and personable. She even helped us plan our wedding from afar and we always felt in the loop on all the details. Her staff made the wedding day a breeze, making sure things ran smoothly from behind the scenes. The venue was very flexible and provided a unique and unforgettable space for our big day. Our ceremony was outside in the courtyard, and our reception was inside in the art gallery space. Our guests made so many comments about how beautiful and cool the space was, it's a historic space that can be equally historic or trendy depending on how you decorated it. We absolutely recommend the Cider Gallery and are so happy that we had our wedding there!

From the moment we walked in, met Jennifer(event coordinator) and left. We knew this was going to be our venue! The stunning revamp of an old building turned art gallery was the perfect style to showcase our wedding. And the courtyard topped it off! We had our ceremony outside on the lush green lawn with the rock building backdrop. The reception following a short cocktail hour inside to dance the night away. We loved everything about this place.

The Cider Gallery is a beautiful space and we were thrilled to have had our wedding there. Our ceremony was outside in the courtyard and everything went off without a hitch. The staff handled everything like pros and our guests had nothing but great things to say.Jennifer, as I must point out, was OUTSTANDING. Leading up to the event she helped out with all of our questions and put us at ease. During the event she was a total boss. She even made sure us grooms never had an empty drink. Customer service at its finest.

The Cider Gallery was the perfect mix of elegant and casual and I can't imagine having had our big day anywhere else! We got married in the courtyard and had our reception inside. We received several compliments on the venue and the space is so beautiful it really takes the pressure off as far as decorating and ambience. Jennifer and her team were extremely accommodating, professional, and flexible every step of the way from the seating chart to the bar menu. I couldn't recommend it enough and it was one of the easiest and best decisions we made when planning our wedding.

We used Cider Gallery as the venue for our wedding reception and could not have been more pleased. Jennifer was super easy to work with, and was very attentive and flexible to any of our questions or requests throughout the entire planning process. \r\rThe venue looks great on its own, let alone decorated for the wedding, and drew very positive feedback from all of our guests. We had an outdoor cocktail hour in the grassy area adjacent to the building, and then moved indoors for dinner and dancing.\r\rWe underestimated the amount of alcohol need to serve all of our guests, but the Cider Gallery team jumped into action and helped provide additional stock from reserves they had, so none of the guests ever noticed. \r\rEverything was simple from the set-up to break down, and we would certainly recommend the Cider Gallery to anyone in Lawrence who was looking for a unique and romantic location to set your wedding apart. Their team was incredible helpful and attentive, the location is easy for guests to get in and out, and the set-up lends itself very well to make your wedding be whatever you want it to be.

We had both our ceremony and reception here and loved it. Staff was very accommodating, responsive, and helpful. The venue itself is beautiful, and features art on rotation. The tricky part is that it's often a gamble as to if you will like the art on display at the time of your wedding. As for my husband and I--we LOVED the art on display. Price of venue is extremely reasonable and you can choose your own caterer and vendors. I HIGHLY recommend using Cider Gallery!

Cider Gallery was the most beautiful setting for our daughter's wedding day! The outdoor courtyard was perfect for the ceremony. The dinner and dance were held inside and we couldn't have asked for a better space. It's unique and doesn't require a lot of decor to make it special. The art, wood beams, brick and stone were incredible! We had simple table centerpieces and let the room do the big work for great sight lines and atmosphere. The rental fee included the tables and chairs. Cider Gallery handled the bar services and worked with us on two signature cocktails as well as liquor, beer and wine options for our guests. If you want a unique, beautiful space for your wedding you should visit Cider Gallery!

The overall experience of The Cider Gallery cannot be matched. The location is in the up-and-coming Lawrence Art District and has an extensive history attached to it. With much of the original structure in tact, it blends old world with modern flair. It juxtaposes exposed beams and hardwood floors with stone as well as is designed to let in lots of natural light. This venue is suited for a variety of different wedding vibes: rustic, traditional, contemporary, etc. Our theme happened to be classic-modern with black and white. The art on the wall is where the color and personality of the venue shine through. The art is wonderful (and gets switched out for Final Fridays). The staff at the Cider Gallery were wonderful to work with, especially Amanda the onsite coordinator. She went above and beyond before, during, and after our wedding to make it go smoothly and help it look great. She also let me switch some of the art the day before the ceremony that was more in keeping with our theme. The CG helps customize each couple's vision. Our ceremony was perfect in the courtyard. They have done a lot of work on the landscaping, and it has paid off. Their sound/TV system is state-of-the-art and showcased March Madness during our reception, which was AWESOME. We loved every minute of being at the Cider Gallery and would recommend it to everyone. We have gotten so many compliments on the space we chose, and it set the tone for the night. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny. Great venue, great staff, and great experience!

Jennifer Burkhead (Events Director) I am the Executive Director at the Cider Gallery, overseeing every aspect of our events - tours, contracting, planning, and hosting. I have been in this position for over nine years, and have hosted more than 200 weddings. I enjoy celebrating such an important and beautiful moment in the lives of our clients and friends, and I am always truly honored that our wedding couples trust us with their big day. I look forward to working with wedding couples to pull together their perfect dream wedding, hopefully for many years to come!
