Wedding Aboard the Cherry Blossom Riverboat
The Cherry Blossom is a re-creation of a 19th century Victorian riverboat that can accommodate up to 350 guests. However, our average wedding is anywhere from 50-130 passengers as capacity is reduced from its certified capacity to allow for tables, seating, caterer’s needs, and weather considerations. Our wedding sales and events coordinator would be happy to set up a tour with you if you are interested! Please note that tours are by appointment only.

Had a welcome reception in lieu of a traditional rehearsal dinner on the Cherryblossom and it was a great time! My guests are still talking about it a year later. Allison was great to work with. There wine list needs a little improvement. - but we were able to bring our own. Winter cleaning and upgrades lasted through the summer for our August event. Highly recommend!!

To other brides: be careful! \r\rFirst, however, know that The Cherry Blossom is a stunning boat, and the view from the Potomac River is unbeatable! It is certainly a beautiful and unique venue. \r\rThat said, be careful, and make sure to speak to more than one person. Our story: we dealt directly, and exclusively with, the Special Events Sales Manager. She made an offer, we toured the boat where she made the same offer and then we accepted the offer both verbally and in writing, and were thrilled about our wedding plans! We designed our save the dates, informed family and friends, created our website, etc. We were so excited about our dream wedding! When the deposit schedule didn’t arrive as promised, I emailed and called. I finally heard back from the Vice President of the Company who only said that she was “sorry I was misinformed”, that the Special Events Sales Manager was no longer employed by Potomac River Boat Company, and that they would not be honoring the contract. \r\rWhat?! \r\rBecause the Cherry Blossom is such a beautiful boat, and because we have already invested so much into these wedding plans, we consulted an attorney; we do have a legally enforceable agreement. We’ve reached out to try and settle this dispute, offering to be as flexible and accommodating as possible, but no response. Our attorney is confident we have a strong case, but still, planning a wedding is already stressful enough without legal drama!\r\rSo, to other brides: beautiful venue and amazing potential for a wedding but please be careful when working with them!! Talk to more than one person and (thankfully we did!) get everything in writing!!! \r

Worked with Charlotte from Potomac Riverboat Company and she was extremely professional, responsive and organized. The boat was the perfect venue for my ceremony and reception as I was able to charter the entire boat. Charlotte was also my \"day-of\" coordinator and she had everything completely under control. I never had to worry about a thing! Top notch vendor!

We chartered the Cherry Blossom Riverboat. Charlotte was great to work with- the crew has a lot of wedding experience and it was easy to rely on their suggestions. They made things flow easily and put the entire family at ease.

This venue is so beautiful and almost magically for a wedding. The only caution I would give is to make sure you either have an outside coordinator, or have a larger budget to hire one of the more inclusive catering companies. We hired an outside coordinator and honestly if we hadn't I think the wedding would have been insanely stressful and not nearly as wonderful because of the time constraints, but if you have the budget this venue cannot be beat!

we had our reception on the cherry blossom riverboat. Laura, was our POC who was very helpful. Her boss Charlotte was not. It is a large boat and made for a very unique venue. The boat was fantastic and the people we ended up working with were great.
