It has been 5 months since me and my husband got married. We’re late at submitting a review because life happens (sorry). But you know how much they meant to us and how special our experience was if we’re taking the time to add a review months later. Cristina is forever tied to our wedding experience. It was love at first sight at our initial meeting. Her energy, knowledge and professionalism were infectious. Without a doubt we could tell event coordinating was something she enjoys doing. She was patient with our slew of questions and requests at wee hours of the day. The vision for our wedding came to fruition with her shared ideas and enthusiasm, too. Many couples are advised that communication, trust, and comprise are required to obtain a healthy marriage. We received those same exact qualities from her throughout the entire process. Thank you is not enough for all the hard work you put in to make us happy and remain stress-free. She expedited last minute changes to our seating arrangement and menu. And we experienced her lovely singing voice at our sweetheart table. Thank you for the personal concert!As for LM Catering, the menu tasting was an experience we’ve never had. Christina’s attentiveness to our likes and dislikes was noted. Relatives joined us for the experience and they had nothing but great things to say about her (and of course the food as well). They executed our vision on the day of so well that the final look of our event surpassed our expectations. Family from outside of Chicago visiting the city for the first time and were blown away by the venue. They enjoyed the smooth transitions between the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception along with the gorgeous views of the city skyline. We made sure to enjoy ourselves with cocktails throughout the night. The staff were so attentive that when our glasses were nearly empty, they personally handed us our drinks. We never had to get up and go to the bar. They worked so hard that for last song we invited them onto the dance floor as our appreciation and respect for them. Thank you to every staff member that made August 12, 2023, happen. We hope the staff continues to receive the recognition they deserve. Thank you, Cristina!

I couldn’t possibly see any other place to tie the knot with my high school sweetheart other than this amazing venue. We hosted our ceremony and reception here and we still have family and friends talking about it three months later. The staff took such great care of us all and really paid attention to detail with every thing I wanted done as a type A bride! Mary was absolutely amazing and treated us like family making our big day come to life. Communication into the year of planning was great, and eased so many nerves going into it. More onto the venue, first the food was AMAZING, our guests loved it, drinks mixed to perfection, with the best views of the city while we dined and danced all night. The bride and groom suites were perfect to unwind before our ceremony. And just the transition from ceremony to cocktail and the beautiful loft space to reception was so amazing! Absolutely loved everything about this space not only for what it offered but how incredible their coordinator Mary was and the staff. Thank you for such an amazing experience.

We had our wedding at City View Loft on 11/18 and were blown away by the care and direction provided to us by our venue coordinator Abbe. Abbe helped us have the most magical evening we could ever imagine. The food was spectacular, the venue was gorgeous, and the team at City View impressed our guests with their professionalism and manners. The majority of our other vendors were provided to us by City View’s website and they knew exactly how to utilize the space! I would highly recommend using City View Loft as your wedding venue, especially if you get the chance to work one-on-one with Abbe!

We just had our wedding at city view loft on 5/20/23 and cannot say enough great things! Lesley was absolutely amazing through our entire process. She was extremely helpful- prompt with any questions and always thinking ahead. She was also so kind and professional- she really knows her stuff! The food was so far above typical wedding food, our guests raved about it. The space itself was beautiful- at sunset/ nighttime the city is stunning. Our out of town guests were so impressed! Our day went off without a hitch and we cannot thank Lesley and the City View Loft team enough!! Highly recommend.

Cristina was flexible, understanding, and responsive, especially during the two weeks prior to the wedding. The venue is so beautiful and open. The food and desserts were so delicious; our guests could not stop complimenting on the venue! We loved how everything turned out and highly recommend hosting your event at city view!

I can't say enough good things about the venue and the staff. We did change coordinators half way through the wedding planning process but both were incredible. Lesley was amazing. She was responsive to emails, helpful when we were onsite and answered any questions we had. She made our planning experience a breeze. There were NO surprises. The day of our wedding was flawless, the food was delicious, the staff was excellent, the ambiance was stunning, and Lesley went above and beyond for us. I highly recommend this venue for any bride to be.

City View Loft (CVL) was our dream wedding venue. We held our ceremony and cocktail hour downstairs at Kitchen Chicago and the reception was upstairs at CVL. It’s such a gorgeous venue. LM Catering is the catering company that serves CVL. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments on the passed hors d’oeuvres. The only negative thing we have to say is the event manager changed four times within a year and a half. It might be helpful to hire a day-of-coordinator if you have your wedding at CVL. We highly recommend CVL for your event!

I just had my wedding last Friday at City View Loft/Kitchen Chicago. Both were amazing for ceremony and reception. They have a bridal room and a groomsmen room that was nicely furnished. Everyone loved the location and we received so many compliments about it. The lighting and night with the view of the skyline was amazing. The food was in point and everyone loved it. I have friends who are very critical with food and they loved it too. The staff was very good and were on point with serving food and drinks. They did such a great job making sure everyone’s need were met. Cristina was amazing. She was so patient with us especially with me emailing her multiple times a day asking question and we really do appreciate it that so much. She explained everyone so nicely and knew everything that we needed to get done. She gave her advice on certain things on our wedding and I’m glad we listen to her. I miss my wedding honestly and I do miss planning this. I highly recommend this venue and you will not regret it!! Thanks for all your help Cristina!

When we booked our wedding at City View Loft, we knew we loved the space, but we were continually impressed throughout the planning process by how helpful and responsive the team was there. Our main contact Lesley went above and beyond answering every little question we had, reworking the floorplan and timeline with us to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. She was absolutely incredible, and it was so nice to not have to worry about anything going wrong the day of our wedding because we knew Lesley and her team had it handled.Every time one of our vendors heard we were having our wedding at CVL, they raved about how great the team was there and how easy they were to work with, and we completely echo that after how seamless everything was on our wedding day.CVL works exclusively with their in house caterer LM Catering. We had totally underestimated how nice it would be to have the venue and caterer come as a package deal. Friends of ours who had gotten married recently talked about how stressful it was to make sure their caterers knew where to go and what to do at their venues, and this was something we didn't even have to think about. You really get everything all in one, and we just had to work with our one contact. Not to mention, we got so many comments from guests about how fantastic the food and service was.We loved having our wedding at City View Loft and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a wedding!

In 2019 when my husband and I saw this place we knew we wanted it to be our venue. We had to postpone the date twice, but ultimately it was just what we thought. Jaime and Lexi were very helpful. The food was amazing and everything did work out. There was a parking lot that was not there when we went to view the venue in 2019 that I would have loved to have been updated on for invitation purposes, but otherwise still very happy we chose this venue.

We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at City View Loft! The space is beautiful and the staff were great to work with--they were on top of everything! The food from LM Catering was also delicious! We were initially a bit nervous since we wouldn't have the option of choosing our own caterer, but it made the planning process so much simpler and I still think about the hangar steak hors d'oeuvre! Seriously. We loved that CVL had all the furniture we were going to need, that they were BYOB, but also provided bartenders, and that they handled all the place-settings and linens. It was an amazing day thanks to an amazing venue!

City View Loft is a gorgeous place for an event. We chose this space originally for our wedding in 2020 that was postponed to 2021 and then again to 2022. They worked with us through all of these issues and were so kind and patient through the whole process. We received so many compliments on this beautiful space that we chose. We were connected with Lesley as our point of contact who was amazingly helpful on the day of the wedding and was able to coordinate delivery of extra alcohol to the space after we ran out! They kept everything low stress and perfect.

What a perfect place for a wedding ceremony and reception. We might not have seen many places in person during our search process in 2020, but once we came to City View, we knew it'd be the place we'd get married. The ceremony space downstairs is perfect, and the upstairs loft provides a beautiful view of the city and a space that can accommodate extensive decorations, or is just fine with minimal effort as it is perfect on its own. The service on wedding day was exceptional as everyone was friendly and fun, the food was great, and the tasting beforehand was a really good time, too! (My wife is insisting I highlight the food more, as it was amazing, especially the salmon and pull-apart breads!) Our coordinator changed from Paulette to Lexi about halfway through the planning process, which turned out to be a seamless transition. Lexi was extremely responsive, flexible with our changing guest count and table arrangements, and provided great advice the whole time. They also provided clear communication and direction as vaccine requirements came into effect two weeks before our wedding. We definitely made the right decision!

When my husband and I were looking at venues, we visited one of the other LM Catering and Events locations. The space was great, but not quite what we were looking for. The person giving us the tour suggested that we go to their other location, City View Loft. We were able to call and get an appointment to look at the venue that day. When we visited, it was exactly what we were looking for - a grand, open space on the lower floor for the ceremony, and a chic, loft area with a beautiful view for the reception. During the tour they were very attentive and quick to answer questions. We booked in late 2019 for our wedding in January 2021, and they were very attentive and easy to work with through that process.When the pandemic hit in 2020, we took a break from wedding planning. In June of 2020, it was clear that things were getting worse and we would not be able to have the wedding we’d dreamed of with all our friends and family in January of 2021. We called our coordinator with CVL and she was great about walking us through our options. We decided to move our wedding to September 2021, and although it was very stressful, CVL was still easy to work with and answered all of our questions.A few months before the wedding, our coordinator was changed to Lesley Rottsolk. She was amazing to work with leading up to the wedding and was great about taking my calls and answering emails quickly. With Covid, we had to make a lot of last minute adjustments, but she took those in stride. I really appreciate her taking the time to assuage my fears and work through issues.The actual wedding day was amazing. When we arrived at the venue, all the other vendors we worked with had set up and Lesley was coordinating everything. I didn’t hear of any issues during the entire night. All of our guests (~100 people) loved the venue. The ceremony space was elegant and beautiful, and the reception loft space really came alive at night. People couldn’t stop complimenting the view. The food was also delicious - everyone that we spoke with loved it. The waitstaff actually kept my husband and my food warm until we took our seats to eat, which was a really nice touch.Over all, we loved our wedding at City View Loft and would recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, intimate, modern venue.

We held our ceremony in Kitchen Chicago and our reception in City View Loft. Both the Kitchen Chicago and City View Loft spaces are beautiful and were perfect for our wedding day. The staff was easy to work with throughout the wedding process. On our wedding day, the venue looked exactly as we had envisioned. The food was delicious and all of the guests raved about the food. City View Loft was an amazing place to have our wedding!

We had our wedding at City View Loft this past weekend and it was everything we thought it would be and more. We had the pleasure of working with Paulette who from the beginning of our tour of finding the perfect venue till the end of our Wedding was amazing to work with. Very responsive and organized and was thorough in all that we asked and how everything was going to be handled. The only thing bad we could say, is that the air was not turned on till we got there so it was very hot in the loft, which they had to bring out fans. We had to push back our reception a little till it was cool enough for our guests to go up. Other than that we had an amazing time at this venue and all our guests fell in love with the loft and Kitchen Chicago for the ceremony.

As a COVID wedding couple, it isn't surprising that the planning process was difficult and there were a lot of hurdles along the way. Due to things not working out at our original venue, we had to search for a new one and ended up booking with City View Loft. We worked with Jamie, and even from the first introductory email, I knew we were in good hands. She was incredibly responsive, patient, upbeat, and clearly loved her job. I felt like she wanted us to have the wedding of our dreams as much as we did, and that is who every couple deserves to work with - someone who cares. Although it was not ideal to have to find a new venue two months out from our wedding, booking with CVL and LM Catering gave us the opportunity to step back, breathe, and finally be excited about our wedding day. Sure enough, it was beautiful and everything I hoped for. Stunning venue, unbeatable view, amazing food, and a truly lovely staff and team.

We had our wedding at City View Loft in March 2021. CVL was a wonderful and beautiful venue that accommodated us and our guests for our wedding. Our venue coordinator (Paulette) went over and above to ensure that we had a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception at CVL. When we first toured CVL we fell in love with the venue and just knew that we wanted to have our wedding hosted there because of how beautiful it was. The view of the city is absolutely amazing and breathtaking. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was really tough with so many changes and uncertainties, however Paulette was able to help us along the way with the many changes and questions that we had. She really went above and beyond. The caterer LM Catering also did a fantastic job. All of our guests raved especially about the Hors d’oeuvres and desserts that were served. If you are looking for a venue for any event, especially a wedding, City View Loft is the place to be.

We had our wedding at City View Loft in August 2020 and we could not recommend the venue more! Because of the pandemic, we had to make many changes but working with Jamie made everything easy and stress free. She was extremely patient and worked with us as we went back and forth trying to make decisions throughout the months leading up to August. She responded quickly to all our questions and always had a bright and positive attitude, which we really appreciated during that time. Jamie was even able to allow us to come the day before to decorate since there were no events going on. Working with Jamie made the venue that much more special to us!The venue itself is beautiful. All the photos came out stunning and beautiful. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour downstairs in Kitchen Chicago and dinner upstairs. Both areas are beautiful and very photogenic. The view of the city from the upstairs windows is breathtaking and a perfect backdrop for photos. The food was amazing as well. Our friends still talk about how the food was so delicious and a few of our friends have even tried to recreate the salad. The cake was done by Sophie at Vanille. She was amazing to work with as well. We walked into our consultation completely clueless and Sophie guided us to our dream cake! It was beautiful!Overall we're so happy we went with City View Lofts! We appreciated the professionalism and positive attitude of every staff and vendor that served us. It was not the wedding we originally envisioned when we booked the venue last year (pre-pandemic), but it was better than we could have imagined and turned out to be a memorable day we will never forget.We're so grateful to CVL, all of their staff, and the owners for working with us and being flexible during the pandemic to make this all possible and done safely. We've heard so many awful stories of friends being swindled out of their deposits and/or being strong-armed by the venues they've booked with. If you're cautious about booking with a vendor due to trust, please know that Jamie and CVL will take care of you and will work with you as they've done with us.

I cannot say enough great things about Jamie Bacon and City View Loft. My wedding was originally scheduled for November of 2020 and even though I was hopeful things would be ok by then, Jamie was super understanding and patient with all my questions starting early on. We were able to postpone our wedding to November at 2021 at no extra charge and still have a small family ceremony there this year. Jamie has given us great ideas to still make the day special and I am so thankful to be working with her!

Jamie was attentive and understanding of our desire to have our dream wedding, which was not looking promising for this year.. we moved everything quickly and without issue! We were supposed to get married 6/27/20 at CVL, and have since postponed to June of 2021. We booked CVL back in April of 2019 almost immediately after seeing it because we loved it so much. We’ve worked with Jamie for the past year and change, and look forward to working with her for the next year! Everything about the company and Jamie is wonderful - they are prompt, responsive, helpful, and kind. Every question I’ve had has been answered quickly and in full, and it has made the planning process SO much easier. When we first reached out asking about postponing, Jamie quickly gave us the details and ran through prospective dates. We ended up with the exact date we wanted, and she quickly sent over a new contract and transferred our deposits to the new date. I have several friends who have had to postpone weddings as well, and many of them have had a difficult time getting their venue to agree to a postponed date, which just makes me that much more grateful for the entire CVL team. If you book with them, you won’t regret it! Plus we already did our tasting, so I can confirm that the food is phenomenal. No boring wedding food here! We can’t wait for our wedding, and are so glad we made the decision to work with CVL to plan it!

Even though we've had to postpone our wedding to next July, we've had a great experience working with City View Loft! As soon as we made the decision to postpone, Jamie clearly laid out our options, and allowed us to move the date back a year at no extra expense. It was truly the best case scenario and made me even more excited to have our wedding there. The space is gorgeous, Jamie is so helpful, and the food we tasted is delicious -- July 2021 can't come soon enough!

We worked with the venue coordinator Jamie Bacon, and she was absolutely incredible in terms of planning and day-of support and definitely the reason everything went so smoothly the day of our wedding! I've broken down some of my comments to a few relevant parts: The Venue:We had our cocktail hour downstairs in Kitchen Chicago (KC) and the reception upstairs at City View Loft (CVL). KC has a gorgeous archway that we decorated with white draping and lights, and that with the backdrop of lovely brick loft walls and wooden doors looked so charming. Our guests were able to enjoy the downstairs KC area, before heading upstairs to CVL. CVL is also a gorgeous space with little fairy lighting set up everywhere, a chandelier and plenty of good dance space. We had plenty of room for our highlander cart (a cart of traditional Polish smoked meats), DJ, photobooth, desert table, etc. The guests were super impressed with the view of downtown, the cool loft space/brick and lighting, and we just had a great time. I think the thing that I appreciate the most was that everything was there, and there wasn't any silly runaround like paying for special chairs, special dishware, special linens etc. etc. They have beautiful wooden tables, the chiavari chairs (that every other venue tries to price gouge you on) are included, and all glassware/dinnerware is there. The Coordination: Jamie was flexible, supportive, and communicative throughout the entire prior planning and day-of organization. She allowed us to decorate ourselves for FREE the day before the wedding because there were no other events going on. Not only was this super helpful financially but also made me feel much more at ease since we didn't hire a separate wedding planner and did a lot on our own (decorations, etc.). She arranged for staff to have all the tables set up and ready for us, so that we could put our decorations on the dessert table, bar, and guest tables the day before the wedding. I am also so impressed with how quickly Jamie responds to even the silliest questions - she is very understanding re: the tremendous amount of stress in the air and she just stayed so positive, joyful, and excited the whole time! I think that definitely helped me maintain my sanity given that I was planning things myself. I think you need someone level-headed like Jamie on your team to make sure everything runs smoothly. I gave her the contact info to all of my vendors for day-of communications, and didn't have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding. She pulled it all together and I could just focus on being a bride. Can't say enough how grateful I was to work with Jamie!General Staff & Food: The staff was extremely attentive, not just to our guests but also to the whole Bridal Party. They frequently checked in on us in the bridal suite to see if we wanted more drinks or hors d'oeuvres. The hors d'oeuvres were delicious and filling, the bartenders were fast, and the drinks were awesome. KC/CVL allows you to work with Binny's to bring down the cost of liquor (Binny's buys back what you don't use). The venue is affiliated with LM catering which has a kitchen on site (so no crappy pre-made, warmed up food like in places with no kitchen). Everything is fresh and looks and tastes gourmet. My favorite entree was the chocolate & red chili braised beef short rib, but all of the food looked so good. The food was delicious, fresh, and presented beautifully.

We had our wedding at CVL two weeks ago and I cannot recommend this venue enough! Everything from contracting and planning with Veronica was seamless. First the venue itself is beautiful! It has such a special charm to it, especially for winter weddings. The food was phenomenal and guests still cant stop talking about it. What made me know i picked the right venue the most is the ease that Veronica had me feeling leading up to the day and especially the day of. I never once was worried that something would go wrong. She filled me in when she needed to on certain things, but she owned everything! I will forever be grateful. Book this place!

She answered every little question so quickly and from day one until the big day everything was so easy and smooth. Stop looking at other venues and book with CVL right now!! Our experience with Jamie was incredible from start to finish. We booked both Kitchen Chicago and City View Loft for our ceremony and reception and we couldn’t be happier. We looked at a number of spaces in the city but none of them could compare to CVL. The view, raw beauty and affordability is second to none. We worked with Jamie and the CVL team for over a year and a half. Planning a wedding from another city comes with a long list of challenges but Jamie and the CVL team were accommodating every step of the way. If I didn’t sell you already, you can bring in your own liquor!! That is unheard of for a venue in Chicago! This was a major selling point for us because having an open bar was a must. The food was also incredible. We have been to a number of weddings and the food was forgettable to say the least. The food was delicious yet approachable for all palettes. Our guests can’t stop raving about the incredible time they had at our wedding and it wouldn’t have been possible with Jamie and her team. No idea was too crazy and no request was too much for them to handle. We had such a great time working with everyone and can’t believe it’s over. Drop you are doing and send them an email now!!

We cannot rave enough about CVL or Jamie Bacon who we worked with all year! We loved having the option of having ceremony and cocktail hour in Kitchen Chicago (separate yet still beautiful space) from the reception which was upstairs in CVL. Not only is this venue naturally beautiful and full of character, but Jamie was such a delight to work with from Day 1. She never made us feel judged, pressured, or worried. She always got back to us in a timely manner and answered all of our (silly) questions. Also...the food is PHENOMENAL. Seriously, the tasting experience was one of our favorite wedding \"chores\" to do because not only was it fun but so, so delicious. Everyone raved about the hanger steak and the service. LM Catering (who owns CVL) knows what they're doing and how to be professionals. I can't thank Jamie or LM Catering enough for how wonderful you all were to work with and how I will always recommend you to others!

This venue was so perfect for our wedding, and Jamie Bacob (and Gabi who we worked with for a bit) were AMAZING. They are so hands on, and did way more than we expected them to. Highlights: the space is just so organically beautiful, it’s full of light, the decor is unique and gorgeous without trying too hard or taking away from whatever you bring in. The food: we got married two years ago (I know, I’m terrible at writing timely reviews) and we STILL get comments on how good the food at our wedding was. Seriously, the menu was insane. I wished I could have done ten more tastings. Steak cooked to perfection for the entree, late night Chicago style hot dogs on the dance floor, it was all such a big hit. They let us bring in our own bar, which meant we got to buy our favorite liquors, wines, and beers instead of settling for middle or top shelf options that were pre chosen. They worked with all of our vendors to coordinate early drop offs and pickups the next day, they kept all of our gifts and extra alcohol and personal items until we could come back to get them late the next day. Jamie was even at our rehearsal coordinating with our planner, and providing assistance whenever it was needed throughout the weekend. They were truly perfect, and our pictures and videos of our evening there are pure magic. This place was also markedly reasonable compared to some of the other venues we looked at, and had better food and decor. For anyone who wants an exposed brick, city views, gorgeous lighting Chicago wedding with amazing food, this is the spot.

If you are trying to decide between another venue and City View Loft, PLEASE pick City View Loft!! You will not regret the decision, and they will make your wedding day absolutely PERFECT! My wife and I had looked around the city at 5 other venues. We considered all of them but kept coming back to City View Loft (CVL). The space, THAT VIEW, the package options, value, and magical aura of the venue just kept pulling us back to them. I will be thankful for the rest of my life that we chose them! Jamie and her team, I can't begin to explain what they did for us, and how we will remember them forever. Even if none of the other factors had sold us on the venue, Jamie, the lead for CVL, was the icing on the cake! We knew from the moment we met her, that she was different from the other leads. She brought experience, care, and a sense of calm to our wedding planning process. Jamie was never a salesperson or pitch-man. Throughout the entire 16 months, she gave us honest and direct advice about every decision, never once sold us on things we didn't want, and guided us through the whole process. She was beyond a point person for a venue. She treated us like human beings and friends, rather than clients. Then there is the venue itself! What can we say, we are simply speechless! The venue, a beautiful space, with vaulted cathedral ceilings in the main hall, separated bridal and groom suites, and a separate hall for the reception, was an absolute stunner of a venue for our wedding! CVL gives you the chance to take the space and truly make it your own. They offer altars and arches, tables and chairs, but give you the freedom to do what you like with the space! When we had ideas about how we wanted to decorate the venue, and how we wanted things arranged and organized, the only thing we heard from them was \"we can do that\". I can't explain to you how much this meant to us, to have a venue completely willing to make your day your way. It took away so much stress and worry, and instead let us focus on other pressing matters! The team at CVL was amazing. During the entire process of the wedding day itself, I noticed Jamie and her team working diligently to make our wedding day run like clockwork. Whether it was Jamie rolling up and moving rugs from our altar herself, to her team turning the main hall from a wedding to a cocktail lounge in a matter of 5 minutes, to the caterers personally introducing themselves to my bride and I and telling us if we needed ANYTHING to simply flag them down, we could not be more impressed with the work they did. The stress this team has to carry on their shoulders from the constant bombardment of questions, requests, demands, from the couple, bridal party, family, and other guests, must be absolutely overwhelming. Yet I saw nothing but grace, composure, and smiles from this incredibly organized, friendly, and hard-working team. I could go on for hours about City View Loft and the job they did for us. My wife and I could not be happier that we chose City View Loft, and we will forever be grateful that we did choose them over all of the other venues in Chicago. If you choose CVL, I can reassure you that you will NOT be disappointed in your decision. Instead, you will be forever filled with bliss for making the best decision of your life. We just had our wedding at City View Loft on July 12th! It was truly, the most beautiful venue. The second Brett and I walked in, we KNEW we had to have our wedding there. We worked with Jamie who answered any and every question we had. She was truly AMAZING and made us feel comfortable with everything. Our guests are STILL talking about the venue and the food from LM Catering. It was DELICIOUS! The chicken was so moist and tender, the steak was amazing and the veggie choice was delicious! We booked City View Loft for our wedding in May 2019 and we couldn't have made a better choice. From the start of our search, we were looking for a rustic, loft style space that felt romantic and unique. We instantly fell in love with City View Loft! It was the PERFECT venue - all of our family and friends are still complimenting the staff, the food, and the style of the venue overall. The exposed brick, unique loft style, and the skyline view was breathtaking enough to serve as majority of our decor. The venue is enough! It is such a great option to have the ceremony space separate from the reception space to make the flow of events seamless. CVL also provides an online portal to help visualize the set up of the event, which was very helpful in settling my nerves about everything being where it should be! The BYOB policy is also a huge cost saver for those who are on a budget. The quality service, AMAZING food, and everything in between was well worth the affordable price - especially when considering other venue prices in the Chicago area! You won't regret booking City View Loft for any event!Jamie was amazing to work with - she made herself available for any questions, was open to being flexible to our schedule, very communicative, and always made us feel comfortable. Fell in love with CVL after our visit. Jamie was our wedding coordinator, and she did a PHENOMINAL job catering to all of our needs. We live in Dallas and had our wedding in Chicago, so she did her best to put me at ease and have everything ready for my husband and myself when we flew in to meet with her. This helped a lot since it minimized our flights back and forth in order to handle everything before the wedding. Jamie helped create a schedule for the day of, and I have to say, I'm surprised by how everything went on time. Oh, and food! Till this day, one of the things that our guests remembered was how delicious everything was. I highly recommend City View Loft for your wedding.

We had our wedding cermony and reception and City View Loft in March. We fell in love with the venue on our first visit . It is absolutely beautiful! From the first inquiry email all the way till the end I was impressed with their responsivness. It was great that whenever I had a question I knew I would get a thoughtful response quickly. Working with them throughout the planning procccess made the wedding planning process so easy. We worked with Gabi and she was amazing. She has clearly worked on a lot of weddings and her insight and opinions are so helpful! What I was most impressed with was their service on the actual wedding day. Gabi was there the day of to coordinate the set up of all of our vendors. Then during the ceremony Gabi was there to help the bridal party with the timing of them walking down the aisle. After the ceremony my husband and I went in the private room to sign the marriage certificate and the servers where in right away to give us Champagne and appetizers. My guests said they had wine in their hand within seconds of standing up. The service was top notch. The food and service during the reception was also amazing! We got lots of compliments. One small detail that really impressed me was - we had worked out with our florist that we would have the bridesmaids put their bouquets in vases on our head table to reduce the costs of flowers. When we sat down at the head table I realized I had forgot to tell the bridesmaids to bring their bouquets up. And though ohh shoot - nothing to do about that now - and literally one minute later Gabi was there with the bouquets that the bridesmaids had left downstairs putting them in the vases.From beginning to end working with City View Loft was nothing but the best. They offer great service, food, and a beautiful venue. I would recommend CVL to anyone.

The staff helped us set up the areas to create a wonderful atmosphere for our wedding. Throughout our experience with CVL, we worked with Jamie Bacon, who was great. She always responded to us in a very timely manner and answered all of our questions. She was extremely accommodating and helped us create the wedding we wanted. During our wedding, she checked in with us several times to ensure that we were doing okay and that we had everything we wanted. We received several complements on the food from many guests, and we enjoyed the food ourselves, too. The service by CVL staff was great, and everyone was very nice. Jamie and the rest of CVL staff worked very well with the other professionals we hired and worked with for our wedding. We would definitely recommend City View Loft to others.

We recently had our wedding at City View Loft and I don't even know where to begin because everything was above and beyond which made our day absolutely AMAZING. From the very beginning of selecting City View Loft as our venue we felt really good about their entire staff. They were helpful and extremely responsive. Gabi and Lorraine continued that level of responsiveness up through the day of the wedding. They were also extremely flexible. A lot of venues will make you use their caterer for desserts, or alcohol, or late night food. City View allowed us to provide our own desserts, late night food options, and Binny's for alcohol. This was important to us to help us stay within our budget, as well as add a touch of our personality through some of food and drink options. LM Catering is the exclusive caterer and I am still getting texts/calls about how INCREDIBLE the food was! Specifically the hanger steak, hands down people were non-stop raving about it. I am so happy my husband and I choose City View Loft for our venue. The views, setup, decor, and staff was perfect in every way.

I could go on and on about why City View Loft was the perfect choice for our wedding, but I'll try to focus on the details that might interest other couples most.First and foremost is, of course, the space. We loved that we were able to leverage two different spaces for the ceremony and reception, both functioning as a superb backdrop for a variety of decor styles. We were blown away by how the reception space was transformed with our small additions of flowers, decor, and signage.But what really set City View Loft apart was the experience of working with them. We absolutely adored Gabi, and working with her was a breeze. I reached often with random questions, and she was always incredibly responsive and helpful to advise. Knowing she was working behind the scenes on our wedding day, really put us at ease. And we were thrilled when, on the big day, the rest of the staff proved equally amazing. Dinner service was timely and delicious, and the bartenders did an incredible job. We delivered the ingredients of our \"signature cocktail\" but totally forgot to include a recipe. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing, because the drink was a hit! Guests are still mentioning it to us weeks later. I can't imagine having made a better choice for our wedding.

Our ceremony was in the downstairs space (technically, Kitchen Chicago) and reception at CVL. We worked with Jamie during the entire planning process, as well as day of, and she is incredible. So sweet and helpful - especially since we didn't have a wedding planner or day of coordinator of our own. Everything ran so smoothly! The food (LM Catering) was so good, we received many compliments on the food and the service. We fell in love with the venue at our very first viewing of it and picked it for our wedding shortly after. Some of the features that drew us in were the beautiful skyline view, the inclusion of rustic looking chairs and tables for the reception, a big bridal room with a bathroom that was perfect to freshen up in & take some time before the wedding, and a gorgeous space on the second floor for the actual ceremony to take place in. Things only got better as we continued to plan because of the absolute professionalism of their staff, specifically Jamie who we worked mostly with. She was very quick to respond to any questions and always reminded us of any upcoming meetings or payments that were due. She made the wedding planning process so smooth for us and was always so understanding of any issues we ran into and made sure to find solutions very quickly. An added bonus of the venue is the caterer is on site and their food is absolutely delicious. We can honestly say that all of our guests commented on how amazing the food and service was! Even the wedding cake is included in the contract and you work with another vendor to design the cake of your dreams. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to pick City View Loft for our wedding and would absolutely recommend it for anybody looking for a great loft venue in Chicago.

CVL was a perfect choice for our June 29th wedding. Everything from the food (LM Catering), to the staff (shout out to Jamie and Gabi) and the gorgeous city views made our day exceed expectations. My husband and I highly recommend the venue to anyone that is looking for a unique, re-purposed space with tons of history and an urban vibe. The elevators can be a bit slow, but is understandable for a building of this age. Additionally, there are two bathrooms on each floor, but wasn't a problem with our smaller wedding of 100 people. If you're considering City View Loft as your wedding venue, look no further. My husband and I got married in February 2018 (I know, I'm writing this a bit late), and we had both our ceremony and reception at City View Loft. We actually don't live in Chicago, but because we were from the Midwest and most of our family lives around that area we decided to have our wedding there. We chose City View Loft because not only is it a beautiful venue, we really liked how it was an all-inclusive style. Planning a wedding out of state could have been really difficult, so we didn't want to have to make a million decisions. This venue had everything we need - catering, tables, chairs, dishware/glasses/silverware, linens -- and all we had to decide on was napkin colors and food choices! It was fantastic. Their caterer (LM Catering) was hands down absolutely amazing. We took both sets of parents to our tasting and I can honestly say we all loved everything we tried. Our family & friends raved about the food at the reception! The staff working the event were all very professional & friendly. It was the little things that made the difference too -- like when they brought my husband and I drinks and our own little plate of appetizers after the ceremony so we could have a moment to ourselves before going to cocktail hour. Gabi was our coordinator, and she was also wonderful. She was very responsive to e-mails and friendly! She never tried to push her own ideas on us, but when we asked her opinion, she was always very helpful, supportive and honest. City View Loft has so much character, and we are so happy we chose this venue for our special day!

We had our wedding at City View Loft last month and I'm so glad we chose it for our venue! The venue itself exceeded all expectations and looked prettier than I imagined on our wedding day. Having the two spaces is such an awesome feature and a nice way to split up the night. The food was incredible! I inhaled my risotto and have had numerous people tell us it's some of the best wedding food they ever had. We worked with Jamie for most of the time and she was a delight to work with! So helpful in the planning process and really kept us on track. Gabby was our day-of contact and she was so wonderful! She seemed to anticipate everything we needed right before we knew we needed it and even run out to get more whiskey for us when our crazy guests drank it all. The staff in general was really phenomenal keeping people fed, hydrated, and safe throughout the night. It was perfect!

Choosing City View Loft as our venue was THE BEST decision! It is a beautiful space, and we didn't need to do any decorating, which was a huge relief. We used Kitchen Chicago downstairs for our ceremony, which worked out wonderfully, and everything was the perfect amount of space for 115 guests. The food was tasty and it saved a lot of money to be able to have Binny's deliver (and pick up!) our booze. The staff at CVL was incredible, especially the coordinator Jamie! Jamie was so helpful with everything during planning and tasting and the event itself. She completely understood that we didn't want to have to think about decor, and was flexible about food options, and clearly communicated everything we needed from her and vice versa. She really went above and beyond.

Both Jamie and Gabi were amazing to work with! They both helped us through our planning stages and were available for questions whenever we needed them. I would recommend CVL to anyone looking for their perfect wedding venue!

We had our wedding (ceremony and reception) here in September and it all turned out amazing! We loved the space on the inside from the beginning. Once the date got closer we were a little concerned about the overall location given that many of our guests were not familiar with this part of the city. We ended up getting transportation buses to/from and that was very helpful. Jamie was so great to work with. She was helpful every step of the way. She also went above and beyond for us on the night of our wedding to make sure everything was put together and even helped us clean up some of our decorations after the ceremony. All of the other staff was really helpful as well, we had no complaints from our guests. Everyone had an amazing night!

My husband and I hosted our wedding Reception at City View Loft in November, and we could not be happier with the decision! The venue itself was a gorgeous space for an evening event and really compliments the view of Chicago that we wanted our guests to experience. Every single one of our guests commented on how great the venue is (a great place for a celebration!) and that the food their in-house catering service provided was spot-on. We've never heard people comment that favorably about wedding reception food, but we continue to hear from people about how incredible it was. I wish we'd been able to sample more of it (especially the fried chicken sliders!).City View Loft's staff were incredibly friendly and supportive throughout the planning process and the evening of the event itself. At one point, they even took time to prep plates for us, which if we did not have I'm not sure we would have gotten to eat at all! We worked with Gabi, who is just an amazing planner and support to have. She worked with us through every step of the planning, providing feedback about what we did and did not need, and responded to our every question (no matter how anxious or minor they might have been!) in a timely fashion. Gabi and crew even managed to be further accommodating when a kink was put into our plans in the form of a reality show, which made things a bit logistically challenging for the staff. They are truly rock stars for making everything work!We are truly appreciative for City View Loft and Crew and have so many positive to say about the efforts they put in to make our event happen! It was such a fun (and strange!) experience, and we're glad CVL was able to participate!

The venue is absolutely beautiful, you can truly dress it up as much as you want however it really didn't need much. It was an absolutely amazing night that I wish we could relive over and over! I can't say enough good things about City View Loft. My husband and I recently got married there and it exceeded all of our expectations. First off, Gabi was amazing to work with. She quickly and professionally answered ALL of my questions - and reminded me whenever we had a payment due. Second of all, the catering was fantastic. We had several guests tell us it was the BEST wedding food they'd ever experienced. They were also extremely accommodating and even offered to make my husband a completely different meal than everyone else. Third, the space is INCREDIBLE. We wanted a unique venue that had a view of the Chicago skyline - and City View Loft delivered. The decor is amazing and provides enough oomph to where . you don't need a ton of extras. I couldn't be happier with City View and I can't wait to see our photos in the space!

City View Loft blew our expectations as a venue! When my fiancé and I were looking for a venue in Chicago we wanted a space that was a blank canvas but also had some character as well. The exposed brick, high ceilings, large windows, and unique flooring made for the perfect space. The moment we walked in we knew it would be gorgeous! On top of the venue itself being beautiful- the food is amazing! I was so amazed at our taste testing and thought maybe it was a fluke but after our wedding I have received so many comments about how excellent the food was. From the appetizers to the main course to the dessert - it was artsy, elegant, and so delicious. My fiancé and I worked with Jamie who we cannot thank enough for the amazing work she did. She helped every step of the way - she recommended amazing vendors, helped with seating, allowed us to come see the venue with our parents, and was there for the entire day of the wedding. She was very responsive when it came to questions and concerns and was always very kind and lovely to work with. Our day wouldn't have been so amazing if it wasn't for her! I have not heard one complaint about our wedding and I have only amazing things to say about City View Loft. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in Chicago!

Choosing City View Loft was one of the best decisions we made planning our wedding. We knew we wanted a downtown loft, and I am SO glad we found City View because it was so much better and more affordable than the others! Some key things I loved - wood farm tables and new chairs are included in the cost, you can bring in your own alcohol (huge money saver), the cocktail hour space has so much light, the view is amazing. Our guests were blown away by the venue, the view, the staff, the ambiance. So many people told us it was the coolest location and the best food they had ever had (and not even just at a wedding). In addition to the great price and gorgeous location, we got to work with Jamie Bacon, who was truly amazing and helped us every step of the way. She was always quick to answer emails, flexible in helping us make everything personal, and just made us feel totally taken care of. Book this venue now while you still can!

If you're thinking about choosing CVL and LM Catering for your reception and/or ceremony, I would highly recommend doing so! Jamie Bacon was our liaison throughout the planning process and was top notch. She is on her game and you can trust she knows what she's doing. That alone made me feel confident about our selection and knowing the wedding reception would go smoothly. We received many compliments on the food and they are pros at coordinating with Binny's on the BYOB delivery, pickup, etc. along with all coordinating with all other vendors. I can't say enough positive things about CVL and Jamie. They just did a stellar job and we were all very happy and enjoyed the wedding without any stresses!

We decided to hold our wedding ceremony and reception at City View Loft (and LM Catering, downstairs).From start to finish, they were attentive, detailed, and professional. Huge shout-out to the catering/sales manager, Jamie. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and we can't recommend her highly enough. Furthermore, many of our vendors had already visited CVL/Jamie in the past, and they worked together like a well-oiled machine.As far as the space itself is concerned, the immediate neighborhood isn't anything to write home about, but our guests all loved the exposed brick/steel aesthetic, once they got inside. Also, since our wedding was at night, the illuminated skyline view was an amazing touch.Finally, the food was delicious. I'm not exaggerating when I say that multiple people approached us saying that it was one of the best wedding meals they'd ever had.Long story long, we had a great time at City View, and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in an industrial/urban space for their wedding.

City View Loft is the complete package when it comes to wedding venues in Chicago. The amazing view is in the name, but this place is so much more. Following your unforgettable ceremony, you get a tremendous party one story up. Unbelievable food with family-style portions sufficient for all of your guests to have seconds. Chicken, steak, veggies, potatoes, salad, finger foods -- all tasted great. Customized seating arrangements right up to the last guest who goes from a \"yes\" to a \"no\" one week before the event date. Five-star service from the entire staff, especially Jamie, who ensures an amazing night from the moment you visit to the last song. She's the wedding planner you didn't hire and we can't thank her enough. Don't doubt your decision for a second -- get married at City View Loft!

My wife and I got married at City View Loft in mid-March and we could NOT be happier about the venue. Jamie, who helped us coordinate throughout the planning process and the day-of, was so kind and patient. She helped us work through all sorts of details in the planning process, and remind of some of the little (and not-so-little) things we were forgetting to plan. The space itself is gorgeous of course, it required such little decoration; the tables themselves in the loft are so beautiful we opted out of tablecloths. We are a minimalist couple and the space served as the perfect medium for the aesthetic we were looking for. The food, though. The food was absolutely amazing. Our guests are STILL talking about the steak; everything was absolutely perfect. We knew from the tasting that the food would be a smashing success, and the LM Catering crew took such amazing care of us during the tasting, we knew that our guests were in for a real treat. We decided to bring in a live band, which was a great decision for those wondering by the way, and the dance floor was packed, but folks still had room to chat and just hang out. Literally the only criticism, if you can call it that, is that there is very little signage, so folks getting lost (and lost in the elevators) happened a bit, but we knew that would happen and could have done more to mitigate it (so really its on a us, but do keep that in mind). I think I could write an entire review on the staff at City View Loft and still not give them enough praise. I kept saying that they were \"like magic,\" a glass would break or a guest would need something, and before anyone had a second to even ask it was taken care of. The woman who was taking care of us at our Sweetheart's table was so unbelievably kind, she went above and beyond making sure we were doing okay and care free that night. She even boxed up desserts for us, because she knew we wouldn't have a chance to get any. The bartenders were quick, funny, and made excellent drinks (including our signature cocktail). My wife and I could NOT be happier with our choice of venue; and we are so so grateful for everything about that day.

She's not technically a wedding planner but she was so involved in making the day what I wanted that she might as well be. I used Cityview loft and kitchen Chicago as my ceremony and reception venue. I'll be honest, at first I was a little skeptical because of the location. It is in the warehouse district of West town. I first visited on a weekday, so parking looked scarce. But the moment I walked in I was blown away by how beautifully decorated CVL was. It was perfect for the rustic look that I was going for, but still in the heart of Chicago. What made it even better was that the lights and tables / chairs were all included in the venue rental. The lighting was perfect because of the abundance of windows, which fit well with my afternoon brunch wedding. I had enough natural light in the daytime and the string lights lit up the room as it got darker. Parking was no problem at all, all the cars I saw during my tour were from the workers in the neighborhood. So it is empty for my guests on the weekends. No permits needed or additional payment. We only had one option for catering, which was through kitchen Chicago. I enjoyed this because I didn't want to have to also search through list of caterers. Of course I was nervous since we had no other options, but in the end the food stole the show as it was the most complemented part of my wedding. As far as alcohol, we brought our own beers and spirits and use their mixer package which included all the staples. I was fortunate enough to work with both Jamie and Gabi. I first met with Jamie during the tour. She helped me get started as far as looking through food and drink options, and she was very responsive in emails. Since Jamie began to plan her own wedding, Gabi took over halfway through. Though that change is not ideal, she jumped in seamlessly. Gabi was just as informative and kind in helping us finish the planning. I am especially thankful for her help in building on my menu while staying in my (tight) budget and while staying in my brunch theme. CVL/KC is the perfect example of why you should not judge a book by its cover. Though it does not look like the ideal venue from the outside, it is a completely different world once you step in. It has the industrial/rustic charm that is hard to find in city, and an amazing staff to help create the perfect day

I could not imagine choosing another venue. My husband and I moved from Chicago to Dallas last year and had to be trusting of all our vendors as we didn't get to see or meet anyone until almost a month booking! Jamie made this easy to do. She was so flexible, comforting, and warm throughout the entire process. We felt really well taken care of and would choose City View Loft again and again. The venue is beautiful. The food (LM catering) was better than I could have imagined and the staff made the wedding day run smoothly. I will recommend this venue to anyone I know getting married.

We had our ceremony downstairs at Kitchen Chicago and then moved upstairs to City View Loft for the reception.Most of our families have only been to a hotel-venue type of wedding so this was their first loft/industrial space wedding and it was a HUGE hit. Everyone loved the space, the view, and the food. Most of our guests are super picky about food, but they loved the appetizers and the main entree. Everything that we had planned turned out amazing due to Jamie and the LM Catering staff. Every step of the process Jamie was so fast at communicating and understanding (I would send her a million emails and ask her everything/anything). Jamie was great with the big details and also the smallest details, and thought of things I didn't think of. LM Catering, was also so great with their services and accommodating a lot of our non-English speaking guests. Many of our guests commented on how they have never met such great servers. We loved the venue, but most importantly it was so great to find people who were so easy to work with, and most importantly great at communicating.

We had our wedding reception at City View Loft just a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely incredible! We first met with Jamie about a year ago and fell in love with the urban luxe atmosphere, and knew we had to work with them for our big day. Jamie and her fellow staff were so easy to work with. They were professional, communicative, fun, and flexible. We were working within a tight budget, but we still had the reception we dreamed of. CVL responsive every step of the way, communicated with all our vendors, and even did a flawless job of passing on the baton to another CVL staff when our day-of contact had to change. Our guests absolutely loved the food and service, and the servers were so accommodating to guests' dietary needs. We highly recommend working with CVL!

Jamie is the best. She was a major reason we went with City View Loft. She was so incredibly helpful that day and leading up to it. She is very organized and really knows her stuff. We felt so confident heading into our big day knowing we were in Jamie's very capable hands.The space and the view are really great and unique. Out of town guests and locals alike loved seeing the city skyline from this angle. The team was also able to flip the loft space super quickly and seamlessly.The opportunity to bring in your own booze and dessert is also a helpful option. We were able to return unused unopened booze to Binny's and also able to bring in dessert from Bang Bang Pie Shop which was a fun way for us to incorporate a favorite from our neighborhood.We did however have one small incident tainting what would have been a fabulous review. During our wedding one guest had a cell phone stolen. We are certain this phone was stolen and not lost as the new phone owners began reaching out to our guest's contacts looking to obtain personal information and cloud passwords. We alerted the City View Loft team of the incident. Jamie took the incident very seriously and was extremely responsive, cooperative and as helpful as she could be. Unfortunately, the management team was unwilling to do the right thing for our guest which is highly frustrating considering the significant investment we made with them. They had multiple opportunities to make good on the situation but refused. I hope they are taking this time to explore how they can better prevent similar incidents from occurring and how they can better address these situations if and when they do come up. Really such a shame because everything else about our day was truly wonderful.

City View Loft was selected for our daughter's wedding for so many reasons, most importantly for the \"funky city vibe\" and having the ability to have two spaces to work with in a single venue. We optimized the evening by having her ceremony in Chicago Kitchen, and then the guests moved to CVL for cocktails and dinner. The brass section of the band came in after dinner, and led the guests back to Kitchen Chicago where the entire room had been magically flipped for dancing and the reception. SO cool! We timed the arrival in CVL just as the setting sun was radiating on the skyline, and it was gorgeous. Jamie was EXCEPTIONAL. She was SO responsive, even responding to emails on her off hours. She was professional, thorough, and VERY enthusiastic. A key benefit of CVL is the inclusion of tables, chairs, and easy selection of the menu through their catering. We loved the tables and furniture available to us, and the new bar made from a door is just too cool. It helps to give guests a \"heads up\" about access to the building. We actually used the Bell Street side which has plenty of free parking....however, we did advise guests that if they pull up and think they are in the wrong place, it is probably the RIGHT place. It was a PERFECT evening, and I have received so many compliments from our guests.....fantastic!

We booked with City View Loft and originally dealt with Nicole, the owner. We were then transferred to Jamie, who helped us through most of the process. Jamie was excellent throughout the whole year leading up to our wedding, and she was more than patient with all of our requests. Nicole was also very nice and helpful in the limited interactions we had with her.All our of guests commented on how stunning the venue was, and how good the food was. The dinner, cocktail hour, and dessert was prepared by LM catering who exceeded our expectations in every way.The guest entrance is certainly not the most beautiful (exposed wiring which is probably out of code), but the awe factor of both Kitchen Chicago and City View Loft make up for it.We'd love to work with City View Loft, LM catering and Jamie again, as well as all of the staff that helped our night go off without a hitch!

We could not have had a better experience at City View Loft. Jamie was so easy to work with and so, so helpful - she steered us in the right direction many times when we needed guidance, while letting us take the lead on the decisions that were most important to us. She always had a great attitude which made working with her a ton of fun. The process was super smooth given that the catering, tables/chairs, beer/wine, etc are on site, so these were things we got to customize, but didn't have to deal with paying extra for, bringing in, or taking out! We did a small ceremony on the lower level (spacious, airy, more formal feeling) and a larger party/reception on the upper level (true loft, exposed brick, wall of windows overlooking the skyline) and it worked perfectly. Separate entrances for the two spaces allowed us to enjoy a cocktail hour with our ceremony guests (mostly family) while our party guests (mostly friends) arrived upstairs. I would absolutely recommend CVL (and already have) to anyone looking for a beautiful, unique Chicago city wedding. Jamie and staff were phenomenal.

I recently attended a wedding at this beautiful venue and can't say enough good things about it! The couple's venue and catering contact, Nicole, was such a help to them throughout the planning process. They're both pretty laid back and she offered advice and guidance every step of the way and through their big day. The food, provided by LM Catering, was nothing short of excellent-everything came out hot, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The catering staff was also wonderfully attentive and we were all served quickly so we could enjoy the party! I wouldn't hesitate to book my next event here.

I loved this unique venue with its beautiful view of Chicago! Tons of windows and exposed beams/brick walls made it perfect for the urban-feeling, nontraditional wedding we were hoping for! But what I liked most about this place was working with LM Catering. The owners worked with us to show us what was possible within our budget (instead of trying to upsell us, they respected our goals/budget and were creative about what they could do with it!) I really appreciated their flexibility in allowing clients to have the option of stocking the bar, as we wanted to bring in a special type of wine for our wedding, and LM’s food was fantastic! Multiple guests told me this was the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding – it was anything but boring country club catering! Great food was a top priority for this foodie bride and groom :) The on-site manager, Jamie, was a total gem to work with. I’m an organized and responsive client, so I have high expectations of organization and timeliness in return, and Jamie did this in spades! She followed-through on all my requests, was always prompt in responding to my questions, and has such a calm and kind personality, which made wedding planning less stressful and more fun! I wasn’t worried one bit on my wedding day with her in charge. We had both our ceremony and the reception in two different spaces in the building, and our guests raved about how nice it was to flow from one event right into the next. Simply put, we couldn’t have been happier with our wedding at City View Loft! I’d highly recommend it and the team at LM.

Even though our contract was in transition from when LM bought out the venue and catering from Pure Kitchen, they did a good job handling the switch, and made sure everything was spot on for our big day. She did an great job leading us through the events of the day, and it was a beautiful venue that I would recommend to anyone!

We had our wedding at City View Loft just over two weeks ago and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We chose City View not only because it's a chic urban loft with a stunning skyline view, but also because the contract included catering, furniture and other rentals, which made planning our wedding from Michigan much less of a hassle.Nicole was a pleasure to work with throughout the process, and we never had to wait long for her to answer questions we sent her way. We had no issues with set-up and everything ran very smoothly day-of. Our ceremony and cocktail hour took place downstairs in Kitchen Chicago and we moved upstairs for the reception. We brought in a few decorative accents (chalkboard signs, framed photos) -- but otherwise all the space needed was some greenery and candles to make it sparkle. None of our guests could stop talking about how good their meals were, and we loved that the space is BYO -- we worked with Binny's to design a drinks menu and the City View bartenders did a great job mixing our signature cocktails. There were a few small hiccups with service at dinner but nothing we wouldn't have expected given our experiences as guests at other weddings.We had a magical day and highly recommend City View Loft and LM Catering!

We actually came into having City View Loft as our venue by chance. We signed a contract for Hub Studio Loft back when it was owned by pure kitchen catering (which at the time also owned city view loft). However, 10 months before our wedding, Pure Kitchen Catering dropped Hub Studio loft. They then gave us City View Loft for our big day, which we were thrilled about because we couldn't afford it earlier and loved the look of both floors! We did our tasting in August and were surprised to find out that City View was now being run by LM catering. Despite the whole mess with Pure Kitchen, LM catering was fantastic. Gabi D was our coordinator and was a completely indispensable contact. She was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls and she even helped work out some last minute crises! The day of our wedding went off without a hitch and our guests were in awe of the space, the food, and the friendliness of all the LM employees! They really made it the best day of our life! We had our wedding at City View Loft last weekend and we cannot stop talking about how it was the most amazing day! We had signed our contract with City View well over a year ago and we had the catering company turnover which ended up being a seamless transition and probably for the better because we then got to work with Gabi who was just wonderful. She was so nice and very responsive providing us with suggestions on space layout and day of timing. We got married in Kitchen Chicago with the reception in City View. Both venues looked stunning and we had so many compliments on the space as well as the food. It was just a perfect day and we cannot thank Gabi and the Kitchen Chicago/City View Loft/ and LM Catering team enough! I highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Nicole, and her gang at City View made sure everything went down smoothly. We didn't have a wedding planner, so it was extra helpful when the crew at City View stepped in to assist in directing as things went down on the big day. They set up decorations for us, kept the stuff we wanted to save, and tossed the stuff we didn't, so we didn't have to run around setting up beforehand, and could leave without any fuss/clean-up after. Bathroom space is a bit tight. Wasn't a huge problem for us with 180 in attendance, but could get bad with more. Signs directing guests to restrooms on other levels might be helpful as well. I would recommend this venue, in-house catering, and staff to anyone, without hesitation.

We chose City View Loft for both our ceremony & reception venue because it had the perfect blend of country-like warmth and urban edgy-ness. The venue required you to use the in-house caterer, Pure Kitchen Catering. \r\rTo be honest, the planning process was very hard. After nailing down the sale, it took CVL several emails and multiple phone calls prior to receiving any communication back. I was finally given a new contact person about 5 months before my wedding-- she was wonderful and walked me through many of the details of the day (i.e. decor, food options for caterer, etc.). About 1 month prior to my wedding, I got an email saying that she was leaving and an email address of the person I should keep working with. The person I was handed off to was an Executive Director of the venue, at which point the responsiveness problem came back. I finally scheduled a 2nd final walkthrough with this new person a week before my wedding. It was very frustrating because (1) I received no apology around the delay in response and that everything was so last minute and (2) I was given contradicting advice (from my 1st walk-through) on timing of food, placement of music, etc. so close to the wedding date. For a relatively easy-going bride, working with CVL in my last couple weeks made me go a little bridezilla.\r\rThankfully, the wedding day itself was perfect. The service was great (they helped with the coordination and transition of guests from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception), the food tasted great. Our guests (and us!) loved the venue. It was amazing!\r\rAfter the wedding, we were owed an outstanding balance that was about 10% of our original bill because we had overcounted on guests. We were told right after our wedding that they would send it to us within 30 days. When following up with them, we encountered the same unresponsiveness. Finally, when I went to see about this in person, I first got hand-waving (i.e. if you want to leave your information with us, we'll call you back) and then was told that the catering and venue were splitting and neither would take responsibility for the amount owed to us. We have tried a number of ways to resolve this--including going to both the new standalone venue (CVL) and new caterer (Pure Kitchen)-- but have only received excuses and incomplete stories that do not add up. We still have not received any of the money owed us.\r\rBefore this post-wedding experience, the wedding day would have \"made up for\" the hard process. I would have given them 3 and maybe even 4 stars, with the bridal amnesia that comes after the day is over. However, this last experience with both of the new parties made my husband and I feel taken advantage of and treated with disrespect, a feeling that is not fun to associate with your wedding day. We hope writing this review can help other brides avoiding such an experience.

We had our wedding here recently and the space is really cool. Very urban and industrial loft space with a great view of Chicago. We booked the space early so we got some deals on pricing and add-ons, so it was really reasonably priced - lower than most of the other venues we looked at in the city. The neighborhood isn't the nicest looking, but it's still close enough to downtown that it was a quick shuttle from our hotel. \rThe service entrance to the building (and the entrance that you have to use to use the elevator) isn't the prettiest and the elevator is the slowest moving thing on earth, but I wasn't terribly bothered by that (although, it doesn't make the best first impression on any guests who can't take the stairs). \rWe had Julia and Dan on their staff as our wedding planners and they were great. I cannot say enough great things about Julia, she was very responsive, very flexible, a calming presence in the midst of the craziness that a wedding can be, and very professional. I would highly recommend working with her. Dan was also super helpful and organized (he was my secondary contact, so I don't have too much to say, but together, they were a great team). \rWe had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the Kitchen Chicago space and it was gorgeous! We also used Pure Kitchen Catering and they were great. The food was really outstanding.
