City Winery Philadelphia is a wedding venue located in Philadelphia, PA. Chic, contemporary design elements inside of a classic Center City building is a dream for a modern couple in search of their ideal venue. This restaurant, winery, and music venue have several spaces for occasions, intimate or grand, that capture the best of the local cuisine and culture. This venue’s concept was developed by Michael Dorf who is one of the partners behind New York City’s famed Knitting Factory, a long-running music hall. His love of wine turned into a passion on a trip to California where he had the unique opportunity to produce his own barrel with winemaker David Tate. For City Winery, he merged his enthusiasm for this new venture with his lifetime of devotion to the music industry and created something brand new. For couples, this means an exciting, upscale venue to exchange vows and celebrate with loved ones. The new interior features architectural elements indicative of the building’s original purpose including impressive wood columns and beams. More modern details such as a sweeping staircase accentuated by uplighting and a collection of stunning crystal chandeliers create a sense of elegance and sophistication. Host a large affair in their main event space where guests can view the winemaking process through a large wall of glass windows. A stage complete with a state-of-the-art sound system will get the celebration started as newlyweds and their guests toast to a lifetime of happiness. City Winery Philadelphia has four venues which can accommodate up to 200 guests for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and other wedding-related events. Their largest space is the Main Venue which doubles as the concert hall when it’s not in use for private parties. The Loft seats up to 100 and makes a big impression for smaller celebrations. It features a small stage, projection screens, and an elegant ambience for a dream wedding. Two other spaces include the Winery/Tasting Room and Private Barrel room which can be used to host 50 seated guests and 20 seated guests, respectively. For those in need of more, reconfigure the building’s layout for a grand affair that can hold up to 1,100 people. The venue will provide catering and beverage packages as well as their dedicated service staff to ensure a premium experience. For an extra-special touch, allow their talented graphic designers to create custom wine bottle labels to commemorate the special occasion. My husband and I got married at the City Winery in the fall of 2021 after postponing our wedding 1-year due to COVID. From the minute we started working with the City Winery team in early 2020, they immediately made us feel like family as opposed to clients. Dawn and her team helped us to plan and replan our wedding facing many obstacles and challenges thrown our way due to a global pandemic... Flexible, kind, understanding, and ALWAYS positive - the team reassured us that our wedding day would be perfect. The answer to every single question/request we had throughout the nearly 2-year planning process was always YES and the attention to detail was second to none. The City Winery's massive floor plan allows for different parts of the wedding to happen in different places while still feeling totally cohesive. We hosted both our ceremony and reception at the venue and it was ideal as we could have the ceremony in the concert venue, ketubah signing in the tasting room, cocktail hour upstairs in the restaurant with spill-over into The Loft, and then ultimately guests were escorted back downstairs to the concert venue for party time. We loved the flow! If you're looking for a COOL, casual, funky vibe to host a wedding in downtown Philly, the City Winery is your spot. Unlike hotels or private events spaces, this is a music venue - and it functions as such. Sound and lighting are top notch, and there's an awesome set up for a large band - a real deal stage! This is an ideal place to host a party. Can't thank the City Winery team enough for making our wedding day so special. It was a wild ride, but they made magic happen for us - and we're forever grateful.
