A Mediterranean Mansion in the Sunshine State
The Club Continental is a wedding venue located in Orange Park, FL, just 22 minutes away from Jacksonville. The property, featuring an expansive mansion and lush grounds, was once owned by the family of B.J. Johnson, founder of the Palmolive Soap Company. In 1966, the establishment was transformed from a private vacation residence into the luxurious hotel it is today. Here, to-be-weds can enjoy a blissful retreat with family and friends as they honor their love and commitment to one another in the Sunshine State. When celebrating at The Club Continental, couples and their loved ones will be enchanted by the venue’s Old World Florida atmosphere. This review is for the venue ONLY! We will review the hotel and it's staff separately. We LOVED the venue! Pros are the location, the setting and working with Carla and Diana. Thank you ladies. Their team of support personnel were just as amazing. Food was very good from the appetizers to the main course. They do supply utensils for cutting of the cakes and serving of the cake. I needed an easel and they did supply a beautiful metal one but they did not get it put out until after the ceremony, so my welcome sign sat on the ground while my guest were arriving. Cons for us was that they did not offer a honeymoon suite for your first night as husband and wife or even a room to get ready in if you are not staying in their hotel. There are only 2 food tastings per year and if you don't attend one of those (at a charge) then you do not get to sample any of the food to be served. Before our wedding they did not offer floor length table cloths, I purchased all of my table cloths for the reception tables.

I loved having our wedding at Club Continental! Clearly, it is an incredibly gorgeous venue. With our wedding during December, we hardly did any decorating for it, because Club Continental does a beautiful job. Carla was lovely to work with. I loved having our wedding at Club Continental! Clearly, it is an incredibly gorgeous venue. We just had our ceremony and reception at Club Continental. It was a blast!Carla, the wedding/reception coordinator, was a huge help and had incredible patience with our hundreds of questions. The food was excellent (Prime Rib and Chicken Florentine) and the bar package was well worth the price! Guest have said to us it was the best wedding they have been to, and this is partly the Clubs doing with its fantastic site and food. On top of this, it was very affordable. Bonnie runs the hotel side and it was easy to make reservations and have guests stay - the Riversuites for guests are absolutely beautiful. The continental suite is one of 2 they keep for the Bride and groom, and was lovely, comfortable and clean and had a huge bathroom (which we barely used). I would highly recommend the Club for your wedding event, especially if under a 100 people. We had 75. Perfect size for half-club. Cheers!

Club Continental was AMAZING as our wedding venue. We had initially scheduled in April but due to COVID had to reschedule. The Club and Carla (event manager) were excellent throughout the entire process! They were understanding, flexible, and helpful throughout every step. Carla was excellent with communication either via email or phone and responded quickly and thoroughly to all of our questions. Once our wedding day finally came, the Club Continental was absolutely gorgeous for our outdoor ceremony. The St. Johns River and old oak trees provide a beautiful backdrop for ceremony photos. The reception space was flexible for spacing and functional. All of our other vendors had worked at Club Continental before so they were pros with set-up recommendations, and capturing all the best experiences. Last but not least, THE FOOD! We did a buffet-style (COVID modified with attendants serving the food) and every item was delicious. We had multiple guests compliment us on how good the food was. Reflecting on the planning process, it was extremely helpful to have a resource (Carla) who is experienced with the venue and helping to coordinate weddings. Any time I had questions, she answered them or directed me to somebody who could.

We loved having our wedding at the Club Continental. We weren't too far out of town (Orlando), but far enough that multiple site visits proved to be difficult. Carla was so easy to communicate with over email and very patient with my questions. The location was beautiful and having just about everything on site was fantastic for our guests (ceremony, reception, hotel, after party, make-up/hair). Their service and food was fantastic. They made sure we had something to eat through the hustle and bustle of the night. All the vendors were managed perfectly. I didn't have to worry about anything. It all just flowed together. I would absolutely recommend this venue.

You can't ask for a more beautiful backdrop overlooking the St John's river surrounded by majestic oak trees. The building is historic and offers beautiful ornate detail. The customer service provided was top notch and helped to make my daughter's day extra special. I highly recommend!

My husband and I were married here on Jun 1 and our party of about 100 family/friends LOVED every minute. Dale was our dining manager on duty and he was THE MAN. Every detail, the food, the warmth - all of it was off the charts! Carla was our banquet coordinator who helped make the moments leading up the big day a seamless process. If you are looking for that MAGICAL feel, look no further!

The Club Continental is the best wedding venue in Jax! We did a ton of research into venues, & nothing even came close to CC. It's an all inclusive venue - you & your guests can stay there for the weekend, the food is incredible & very reasonably priced, they provide all the tables, plates, glasses, & linens that you need, & there is a pub onsite for your after party. In addition to all this, they have an incredibly helpful staff. Carla, the wedding coordinator, quickly responded to all of my (MANY) emails & answered every question I came up with. Last but not least - you can't beat the beauty of this location. The views of the river with the elegant oak trees against the back drop of the gorgeous mansion just can't be beat! Especially for the price! CC is well worth every penny we spent!! Highly recommend this venue! My only complaint was the manager on duty the day of. He was pretty useless. I only saw him once. There were random people in the courtyard taking photos while my guests were walking in, & he did nothing about it - one of my bridesmaids had to ask them to leave. He also left all of the breakdown of the wedding to my husband & I, who were almost an hour late to our after party because we had to carry everything (all gifts, decorations, etc.) up to our suite by ourselves. We never saw the manager at all during this.

It was great to be able to reside on site with many of our guests and really enjoy all that Club Continental has to offer. Carla was a pleasure to work with, had many great ideas when it came down to the final details, and was flexible with us when we decided to extend an extra hour. We were able to have a 12 piece band, fantastic food (delicious and plated nicely), and plenty of room to dance and enjoy our big day!

It has been a little over 25 yrs since my husband and I got married at the Club Continental. This was before the Knot ever was in existence. We had a amazing wedding back then. The location was perfect with views of the water during the outdoor ceremony in June. We has a delicious sit down meal that I can still remember. Today the venue is still a highly rated venue. Today I am a wedding/Event Planner and hope that one day I can help a young bride coordinate her wedding here.

It has been a little over 25 yrs since my husband and I got married at the Club Continental. This was before the Knot ever was in existence. We had a amazing wedding back then. The location was perfect with views of the water during the outdoor ceremony in June. We has a delicious sit down meal that I can still remember. Today the venue is still a highly rated venue. Today I am a wedding/Event Planner and hope that one day I can help a young bride coordinate her wedding here.

I LOVED this venue and I'm so happy we went with Club Continental for our reception. Carla was an amazing and professional person to work with. I only had a slight issue with the manager that was working the night of my reception. He was a little pushy with the schedule and there was a little tiff between he and my mother over packing up my wedding cake tier to take home (we had a treat table - the cake tier was meant for decoration and we were to take it home and freeze it for our 1-year anniversary). I was also told that that shots from the bar were not allowed, as it creates drunk and unruly guests; HOWEVER, the bartenders were handing out shots to the guests like there was no tomorrow. Everything worked out, but I think there may be a management communication gap?

The package included the ceremony, an officiant, a stay in the River Suites, a delicious 3 course meal for the bride and groom, flowers, and a cake for such an amazing price. Carla made sure everything was perfect for our day. She even went above and beyond and set up a ceremony space both inside and outside because the weather was being iffy. Carla responded to every email I sent (there were so many) very promptly and made sure that my day was perfect! I could not be happier with how everything turned out. Club Continental is the perfect venue and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy!

When I was looking for a venue I narrowed it down to three with Club Continental being one of the top three choices. I cannot begin to say how pleased I am that I chose Club Continental as my final choice. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. Carla was a dream to work with and was such a professional. So many of my guests commented that they thought it was a magical wedding. Carla timed the ceremony right at sunset, which was just beautiful. The beauty of the landscape was the perfect backdrop for amazing photographs. I cannot say enough about the service of the staff who worked so hard to make everyone happy. No one ever had to ask for anything. The cleaning staff was ready and willing to get anything I needed for my room and had such a joyful and positive attitude. The bartenders joked and laughed with my guests. We had karaoke at the pub after the wedding and Kelly was awesome to work with. My room was incredible which overlooked the ceremony area and the St. John's river. I had to breathe everything in. It was the most perfect day and it was due to Club Continental. When I was looking for a venue I narrowed it down to three with Club Continental being one of the top three choices. I cannot begin to say how pleased I am that I chose Club Continental as my final choice. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. Carla was a dream to work with and was such a professional. So many of my guests commented that they thought it was a magical wedding. Carla timed the ceremony right at sunset, which was just beautiful. The beauty of the landscape was the perfect backdrop for amazing photographs. I cannot say enough about the service of the staff who worked so hard to make everyone happy. No one ever had to ask for anything. The cleaning staff was ready and willing to get anything I needed for my room and had such a joyful and positive attitude. The bartenders joked and laughed with my guests. We had karaoke at the pub after the wedding and Kelly was awesome to work with. My room was incredible which overlooked the ceremony area and the St. John's river. I had to breathe everything in. It was the most perfect day and it was due to Club Continental. THANK YOU to everyone who had a part in making the day amazing and who work at Club Continental. I would definitely recommend Club Continental to anyone even thinking about this venue for their pending nuptials.

When I say that this venue was absolutely perfect, even that feels like an understatement. On the day my now-husband and I went \"venue shopping,\" the Club Continental was our first stop. From the minute we arrived on the property, we were overwhelmed with how gorgeous it was. We were shown around by Carla, who was so kind and helpful. The exterior gardens were breathtaking and peaceful, the interior was romantic and classic, and the ceremony space on the St. John's River sealed the deal . We immediately knew that this venue was the one for us, but still toured about four other venues to be sure. However, none of the other venues we saw compared, and none gave us that same feeling that the Club did.The entire process of working with the Club Continental was amazing. We continued to work with Carla, who was extremely responsive and a huge help all the way up to the big day. Each member of the staff at the Club was extremely professional, experienced, and accommodating. The Club offers awesome menu selections and my husband and I seriously enjoyed our food both during the tasting and on the wedding day! We had so many guests compliment the menu, too.The Club was absolutely perfect for our ceremony and reception. It made for the most beautiful photos of my bridesmaids and I getting ready, the most flawless ceremony experience, and was everything we could have imagined for our reception. We got so many comments from our guests on how awesome of a venue it was--it truly played a huge role in our overall event. I cannot recommend the Club Continental highly enough!

The staff was incredible during the entire process and Carla was always available for a last minute panic question during the entire process. They were very open to continually letting me come on property with my vendors and family to plan everything out, and the day of manager was also great even though I had a day of coordinator. He made sure that my husband and I always had drinks and kept me up to date on the weather every few minutes since it was supposed to rain during our ceremony. We had such a beautiful wedding, and the ease at which it flowed just made the day even better.

We loved the venue, our ceremony was beautiful outside, our reception was perfect, the staff assisting our guests did a great job, all of our guests loved the meal, we were happy to say (thanks to staff all night) we tried just about everything as they brought many things to our table as well and my cup was always flowing with beer/ wine! Thank you all so much, we have heard so many great things from guests as well, you made our wedding day perfect! Would also add that the hotel staff were very helpful and renting a room upstairs for the night before and night of was the best idea, made all prep and clean up easy as ever. Also we're just now getting pictures back and all look amazing on the grounds, courtyard and along the water! Only suggestion to others is make signs to direct your guests from the main road Park Ave as a few of ours were turned around.

Starting with Carla, the main contact for brides at the Club Continental, to the servers, bartenders, managers, room staff, cooks, etc, were so friendly and willing to help with whatever needed to be done. Special props to Carla for always having an answer and for Jacob, our manager for the night of the wedding. We did the buffet and had so many people comment how fantastic the food was, and the staff even sent boxes of food up to our honeymoon suite!Worth every single penny, both my husband and I couldn't have been happier! Carla, the venue events coordinator, was so amazing to work with and quick to respond to all my (many) emails. I love that this venue has such a cool history, and everything has been kept true to the original. I also love that the venue has rooms for family to stay and my family was able to get in quickly and practically book all the rooms on site. It was a whole weekend of celebrating with friends and family and it was fabulous. The price is very fair for the value and catering comes with! The food was amazing! All made in house and my friends and family still rave about how great everything was. I highly recommend this venue!!

I stayed in the Tower room the night before with my bridal party & got ready there in the morning. It was SO cute & so much fun to get ready up in the tower while overlooking the very spot we were about to get married at! What an incredible experience. The Florida greens + spanish moss made our pictures stunning. I would recommend this venue to any bride!

She gave us a deal on our F&B minimum since we are having a small guest list, which obviously she didn't need to do but made our decision even easier. We had left another venue that was just not going to work and I called to see if we could schedule a tour. She got us in that very same hour and we signed a contract that week. Beautiful landscapes, TONS of photo op spots, classic Florida architecture and decor, gives it a romantic feel.

Loved this place. The food and service were wonderful. We wanted a venue that had parking, reception and ceremony space. Also an option in case of rain was available. We were satisfied with the price and we received everything outlined in writing. Carla Sparks made the process so easy. She was very responsive to all my questions in person, via phone and email. We were satisfied with the price and we received everything outlined in writing. Carla Sparks made the process so easy. She was very responsive to all my questions in person, via phone and email. While we were taking our pictures our guests were served hor d'oeuvres...my guests stated that they felt pampered by the staff. My wedding day was so memorable.

Aside from falling in love with the beautiful river view and the Mediterranean style mansion, we were so happy to have chosen the Club Continental as our wedding venue. The venue itself is beautiful and boasts a classic southern feel (very old Florida) but it also stands out due to the impeccable service we received during our wedding planning period and most importantly, on our wedding day. Carla, their event coordinator, was a joy to work with. She communicated promptly, helped answer questions (yes, you will have a lot of questions... what do the chairs look like, what kind of table cloths do you provide, how many people can sit at a table, etc.), was accommodating when scheduling meetings, and even allowed for us to make special requests for food, set-up, etc. She helped our wedding feel personalized and worked with us the whole planning process. When the wedding day came, the staff was incredibly courteous and accommodating. They answered all of my questions and when they didn't know, they provided a timeframe of when they would be able to provide an answer and always delivered. During the actual wedding, Club Continental's staff stood out to us because they didn't just deliver, they anticipated our needs. Before you even realize what you want, they've already done it and it made the day so amazing. For example, we didn't even know the toast was starting because everything moves so fast and a server handed us (bride and groom) our favorite drinks so that we could clink and drink with everyone by the time the toast was over. We loved that we were able to have our ceremony outside with a beautiful view of the river, have our reception inside, and even have an after party at the pub located on site! Everything about The Club Continental was breathtaking. We stayed in the rooms onsite both the night before the wedding and the night of. The room we got ready in had an amazing view of the river, and our honeymoon suite was right on the river with a balcony that provided an awesome view of the sunrise. Carla was such a pleasure to work with and was always available to answer any questions we had. She made sure our big day was perfect. Everything turned out better than we could of imagined. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone!!!

The food was delicious and even though we hardly ate, they packed us up samples of the buffet and delivered it to the door of our suite on-site for after the party. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that we had an issue after the reception with the linens we rented for the tables. A table cloth was missing and the member of The Club who my mom and mother-in-law were working with to find it, was not helpful at all and refused to go out of her way to help us get it back by the deadline. Other than that, the day was a dream.

During the reception, I was worried that our families would not be attended to but the manager made sure to recognize who the family was and made sure they were taken care of completely. The only thing I have to warn you is that the final count for the reception is due two weeks prior and there are no exceptions. I had more than a whole tableful RSVP no after our due date and I could not get it adjusted after that date.

The day of the wedding everything was well organized and beautiful. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. Not to mention our pictures, candid and professional look amazing. Let me start off this review by saying my wife and I live in Texas; however, neither of us have any family out here. So when we decided on getting married, we decided to have the ceremony in my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. We still hear people talk about how gorgeous and elegant our wedding was. They have a phenomenally professional staff who does everything they can to make your special day magnificent. It is a little pricey and we went back and forth with paying that price, but we were able to settle on a Friday wedding a week before season began to save some money and had an amazing time. I would highly recommend this venue, we had a booking issue that came up with the booking of the hotel rooms but the hotel staff bent over backwards and went above and beyond to make up for it (and that's an under-statement). \r\rCarla and the rest of the staff at TCC are professionals and it shows. If the price is within your range I HIGHLY suggest having your celebration on the beautiful grounds of TCC.

I've had the privilege of working with Club Continental in a professional capacity for the past few years, and finally had the honor of having my son's wedding at this beautiful venue. When my son and his wife got engaged, everyone agreed that Club Continental was at the top of the list. From the staff to the gorgeous setting to décor, they were hands down the perfect venue for the wedding. Come wedding day, we were completely blown away. The outdoor area with the river view was a breathtaking setting for the wedding. Everything was flawless from beginning to end; from the planning process to the reception. Carla was amazing during the planning process and very accommodating. She made everything so easy and stress free. During the wedding and reception, words cannot express just how amazing the staff was. They were very professional, courteous, and attentive. The food was outstanding, and the staff made sure that everyone was happy. Everything went so smoothly and was done with ease. It was a beautiful and memorable evening that wouldn't have happened without such an amazing venue and staff. I highly recommend Club Continental for your wedding. They are truly the best!!!

I've had the privilege of working with Club Continental in a professional capacity for the past few years, and finally had the honor of having my son's wedding at this beautiful venue. When my son and his wife got engaged, everyone agreed that Club Continental was at the top of the list. From the staff to the gorgeous setting to décor, they were hands down the perfect venue for the wedding. Come wedding day, we were completely blown away. The staff at the Club Continental were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was prompt, professional, respectful, and accommodating. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. If you are a bride like me and looking to use the natural beauty of a venue instead of loads of expensive decorations then the Club would be perfect for you. Carla, the event coordinator at the Club Continental is extremely helpful in recommending other vendors for linens, cake, photography, you name it. She made everything a breeze and kept it low stress.

My husband and I met at school in Daytona Beach, Florida so we decided to have our wedding in the area even though we were both in different places across the country during the engagement. When I was looking for venues all over Florida, I felt stuck. We were trying to stay under 10k for the entire wedding but I just didn't feel like a boathouse or restaurant was special enough. And, although we had a home church near school, I didn't feel I could really prepare decorations well being over 2000 miles away.\r\rIn steps Club Continental. CC is beautiful, almost like an Italian villa. You can see even from the website that the true showstoppers are the entry courtyard and the view of the St. John's river in the back. \r\rBecause we got engaged in January and were planning to get married in August, apparently, we were considered \"last minute\" in the wedding industry. Thank goodness because it gave us incredible discounts. Also, choosing a Sunday afternoon helped a bit, and August is \"off season\" in Florida. All this put together meant I could actually easily afford CC, but when I had first looked at the website pricing, I thought it was well out of my league.\r\rCarla is the consummate professional and although it was tricky getting ahold of her and/or secretary at times, we were able to negotiated and design exactly what we wanted via phone. She worked with me and my parents to make things as we wanted. It helped that our first meeting and tour was in person so I highly recommend going to see it.\r\rWe didn't make use of the main house rooms but they would be lovely for a bridal suite, etc... book early, though!\r\rThe manager on duty during our actual event was very nice and accommodating even though I would've liked a bit more \"proactiveness\". i.e. they didn't follow the food timeline and took away the \"butlered\" appetizers pretty quickly even though they weren't gone.\r\rThe buffet was fantastic and nothing seemed dry or bland. I highly, highly recommend the coconut shrimp. Everyone loved it, including me!\r\rThey made a packed full to-go box (we had to provide the tupperware containers) which was perfect for our road trip to Texas before getting on the plane for the honeymoon.\r\rAll-in-all, our wedding was beautiful and it went by too fast. We were blessed to have slightly cloudy skies to help with the potential heat, but it never rained! There's also a large tree over the outdoor patio that helps with shade so don't be afraid of the Florida heat for the ceremony.\r\rDo yourself a favor and set up a tour at Club Continental!

I would recommend The Club Continental. Just a beautiful venue and we will have very lasting memories of a very serene wedding. All our guests were raving about how beautiful it was. This venue is so well organized and they provide a Manager for the reception. We didn't need a wedding planner for the event. Jacob was so wonderful, I cannot say enough about him. The Club Continental needs to hold onto him for sure. Couple of things though if you go with this vendor. I do not recommend the $25 bar package which includes some liquor/beer/wine. The bartender didn't know what kind of drinks to provide for this package and as a result a lot of my guests bought their drinks despite of me having the open bar. The bartender was also very rude when I asked what drink he could make that fit the bar package. I recommend going with either the beer/wine only or the full brand open bar. Also we got the mid range buffet package. They don't replenish. I included my band members and other vendors in the guest count to pay for. They didn't get a meal I don't think. Also the butler passed food, I got 2, my husband got 1 and my mother said she didn't get any. So may be something to discuss with them before the wedding to make sure they don't skimp.

I would say that the Club Continental is a perfect place if you're looking for something that has a classy, historic feel. The location is gorgeous right there on the water. I had a larger wedding there of ~120 people. I would say it's even better for smaller weddings because of the intimate quarters and atmosphere, but we were pleased just the same. It did rain on our wedding, which is not the club's fault, but squeezing our guests into the dance floor area for the ceremony instead of outside was a bit of a tight fit-- so really, it's better for smaller weddings. The service was great from my end. The servers kept checking my now husband and me to make sure everything was to our liking. Advice: well before the wedding or the final guest count, make sure you ask all the questions you need to and they'll try their best to make it happen. My Maid of Honor has diet restrictions (gluten-free, lactose intolerant, there's more) and they accommodated her well. You've got to speak up about what you want and what you need to know; that's the bottom line!

The Club Continental exceeded our every expectation. All the staff was extremely helpful and right on point throughout the entire wedding day. They seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even had to ask. It's been just over a week since our wedding and we still have our guests telling us it was the most beautiful wedding they have been to and how much they enjoyed it! I would HIGHLY recommend Club Continental!!

We had our wedding and reception at Club Continental. It was absolutely amazing. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. The ceremony was outside. The scenery is beautiful as it is on the river and the beautiful trees and garden made for great pictures. The buffet was very good and the staff, especially Jennifer the manager on duty for our wedding, was absolutely amazing. We wanted for noting as she was right there on top of everything keeping it organized and moving. The suites are located right on the river and there are sliding glass doors that open up so you can sit on you balcony and watch the sunrise and sunset. It is absolutely beautiful.

My husband and I chose to be married and host our reception at the Club Continental this past January (2013). I knew from the moment we stepped foot out onto the ceremony site (which overlooks the St. John's River), that this is where we were going to start our lives together. The scenery is stunning and the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. From the flowers, to the ivy climbing the building walls, to the giant oak tree covered in Spanish moss, to the stunning interior, the entire place evokes a sense of the old South (think Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil). In addition to the beauty of the venue, the staff is outstanding. We cannot say enough about Carla, our venue and event contact. She was a delight to work with and always quick with a smile and an answer. She certainly made the planning process much easier. Harry and Patty in the reservations office were fantastic, and even when our families got a bit crazy about room reservations they maintained a happy demeanor and ensured everything was taken care of with the utmost professionalism - Harry was even kind enough to upgrade our friends from Oregon to a nicer room during their stay and we cannot thank him enough for that! Additionally, on our wedding day, the staff at the Club went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were treated like royalty - always making sure our glasses were full, we were happy with the food, and that everyone was comfortable. I would HIGHLY and HAPPILY recommend this place to any future couple, you will not be disappointed!

I absolutely loved the venue but something left to be desired in the service. I didn't get that warm feeling in being a client, planning my very special day especially dishing out that kind of money. Don't get me wrong, they were cordial and sweet but I just didn't feel special. I was also VERY surprised there was no follow up correspondence, not an email, not a phone call just simply saying congratulations or asking about the services. I just didn't feel special with the venue.

We LOVED our wedding at the Club Continental. We enjoyed working with Carla to plan our event in the months preceeding. She was helpful and responsive to my inquiries. We held our ceremony outdoors by the river and the site was gorgeous! The Club Continental is so naturally beautiful, it required little additional decoration. Our guests enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. While I was getting ready for the ceremony in the Tower Suite (which I highly recommend), I watched as dozens of guests were walking around the grounds snapping photos. It was just so beautiful that they all wanted pictures with family and friends. The only downside was cost: I thought the rental fee was a little steep. But in the end, I'm so glad we chose the Club Continental for our wedding.

Booking my wedding at Club Continental was definitely one of the best things about my wedding. The venue is beutiful, the food is delicious and the staff is amazing! They staff the day/night of the wedding was so helpful and truly made our night that much more special. \r\rAlso, when you consider/book Club Continental, you will get the privelage of meeting Carla Sparks. Booking my wedding at Club Continental was definitely one of the best things about my wedding. The venue is beutiful, the food is delicious and the staff is amazing! The Club Continental was the perfect place for our wedding. My wife and I had two things on our list for the venue; it had to be outside and overlooking the water. The Club Continental met both of those criteria. We could not have asked for a more beautiful place to have the ceremony. The combination of the Mediterranean ambiance and the view of the river made for a spectacular setting. Carla was extremely helpful with the planning and preparing. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and courteous. The food is AWESOME!!! Everyone raved about the food and just about every guest went back for seconds. The biggest complainant was that they took the food away. Our guest would have gored themselves all night if they had the chance. Having rooms onsite was convenient for our guests and preparing for the wedding. If you’re getting married in the Jacksonville area you have to visit The Club Continental. You have to go there to see it to understand how special it is.

Our venue was of course a beautiful ceremony location! Of course it ended up raining so we had to move it inside but it still turned out wonderful. It actually seemed to make the ceremony more personal and romantic. Definitely recommend even on a budget.

My wedding day was a dream come true at Club Continental! The venue was gorgeous and being able to stay in the suite and keep the ceremony and the reception all in one place was invaluable! I highly recommend checking this place out!

The location was beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic! However it was pricey. There is a wide range to choose from though. My only other complaint was the cost of renting a room, to have space for the bridal party to dress. It was high and not needed all night long.

everything turned out great. they are such a great team. the food was amazing. seriously prolly the best food ive ever had which was much better than i was expecting. the venue and outside areas are amazing especially for pictures.

The whole atmosphere was beautiful. The location is incredible along the St. John River. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous . I would say the service and service is not up to par and as good as it can be. Some of the flowers outside in the garden were dying. The staff at the wedding was very helpful and effective , but failed to serve Champagne when the guests started arriving for the ceremony. I don't know if it was a misunderstanding , but the Guests had arrived and wanted to drink something other than water. Carla, the woman in charge of weddings , was helpful, but not as accommodating as she could have been. She could have been more hands on and enthusiastic to help us , but she did an average job and did was was necessary .

I was married this past May 2011 at The Club Continental on the St. John's River. It is beautiful and lush and required hardly any decorations. All of the gardens were blooming and were taken care of. Carla was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was quick to answer all my questions and requests. The entire staff was incredibly professional to me and all of my guests. The food was incredibly delicious and we loved that part of our package included butlered hor' deouvres during cocktail hour. It was very easy to create a unique food and decorative vision come to life at this venue. \r\rThey also allowed us to decorate hours earlier than mandated on the contract since there was no prior event to our wedding. This helped immensely! The River Suite rooms and the rooms in the B&B were beautiful and clean! Our family stayed there with us for a few nights and it was such a beautiful stay. I would highly recommend this place.
