I’m going to divide into sections as it is hard to put everything into one blurb.Event coordinator: We initially worked with Michael when we started planning. He answered all of our questions, gave my mom and brother a tour first since we weren’t in the state, and took care of us during the tasting when we were down in Florida from North Carolina. Unfortunately, he moved on to another company a month before our wedding. Fortunately, they had Sheila fill in. She was great as well! We didn’t meet her until the day of the wedding at the reception, but she was well aware of all our wants, and flawlessly took over. She was quick to respond to any questions we had. Her and her staff executed everything perfectly.Venue and Amenities: the venue is beautiful!! All our guests, and even our photographer, said how nice the reception area was inside and out. We got married in December so they were decorated for Christmas; which added the perfect touch to our theme. The amenities include in our price was a great value and well worth it. Between all that was included (event coordinator, cocktail hour, meal, alcohol, cake, uplighting for the dance floor, linens, plates and utensils, etc), we weren’t worried at all! Plus between Michael and Sheila, it was like we had a wedding planner. Wedding Day: everything went smoothly! Enough seats and tables for everyone and everything! The waiters were so polite and attentive. Our guests got there first but when my husband and I got there, they made sure we at least got some food during the cocktail hour! The food was well presented and delicious! My favorite were probably the hor d’oeuvres! (We had the fried Conch, beef Wellington’s, and coconut shrimp). During the cake cutting ceremony, we realized we forgot a knife, whoops! But the staff brought one out right to us! Awesome customer service. After: one of the vendors didn’t deliver a good batch of the product on the day of our wedding, with no fault to Colonial. They improvised the best they could! Not a beat was missed. And they made it up to us. Again, great customer service. I definitely recommend Colonial Country Club if you’re looking for a beautiful venue, and don’t want to have to worry about the little stuff. We were engaged in January of the same year and I found Colonial very quickly in February. It was the third country club I checked out in a day and I cancelled all future appointments after meeting Michael the first time! He was quick to offer a wealth of resources that made the process easy. Not to mention the packages offered are so reasonable. They are so easy to work with, it's a beautiful place, and the cost is reasonable (comparatively speaking). Michael and his staff cater to your every need and make the whole planning process so much easier than it could be. The grounds are absolutely stunning and make for fabulous pictures. The food is excellent and the service top notch. I cannot say more positive things about this place. Unless you have your heart set on a beach wedding, (or even if you do this place may sway you) I recommend this site. Beautiful, professional, delicious! I am an extremely OCD type of person and I honestly had no worries with dealing with the Colonial Country Club. It is most certainly worth the price with everything that they include and the service that you receive. The turned my dreams and images into a fairy tale wedding, I could not have asked for anything more perfect. I honestly have no complaints, they responded to all of my insane emails in a timely manner and were so incredibly helpful and sweet. Michael the event coordinator was great! He put up with my phone calls and emails and never thought any request to big or to small. He advised me on when everything needed to be completed. On the wedding day he made sure my husband and I were happy and had everything we needed. Their food and beverage manager was amazing too. His kitchen ran smooth, his staff were excellent, friendly and accommodating . Plus all my guests raved about the food!! The place is gorgeous we had beautiful pictures taken! They catered to our every need and made every accommodation that we asked for right down to a last minute order of french fries! Everything i asked for, they were able to make happen. It was comforting to know that on what could have been a very stressful day, i walked into my reception and everything was taken care of and it looked beautiful and the grounds are an amazing view and backdrop to your wedding photos. The all inclusive packages that they offer make things even easier instead of going a la carte. They also have vendors that they work with that offer discounts once they know you will have your wedding at Colonial. Amazing!!! I couldn't have asked for better service and a great experience. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! The cake from Mason's Bakery was fantastic. Colonial helped us make a custom meal and all of our guests loved the food. We have gotten so many complements from family and friends stating it was the best wedding they had ever been too. We had 180 and it was a great size. There was plenty of room. The event co-ordinator was friendly and helpful and very easy to get in contact with. The price for the reception was such a great deal - there is so much included: table linens, chair bows, open bar, appetizers, food (that was AMAZING!) and a cake from Mason's Bakery. In addition, the staff the day of the event were wonderful. They always responded quickly with any questions and were extremely accomodating. The value was exceptional and if I could give them six stars out of five I would. The grounds were perfectly manicured, wait staff attentive and food delicious! The wedding coordinator was very helpful and always made sure everything ran smoothly so I can relax. Great backdrop for pictures. I also like the fact that it's new so I didn't even need chair covers because the chairs were so beautiful. I also liked how they didn't charge extra for champagne toast and cake cutting....it was all included.;The management got in a arguement with the baker (the cake is supposed to come with the package) a month before the wedding they told me I had to switch bakers because they weren't using the baker anymore. I did not have time to meet with another baker and I loved the baker I had already. After many phone calls and panics they finally agreed to let me keep my orignial baker. I felt like the upper management handled the situation poorly. Also during the cake cutting we did not see a plate or napkins to use we had to use our hands. Also, it was very expensive to extend the time, even w/out alcohol. Reviewed on 27-09-2007
