Como Lakeside Pavilion Reviews

We were so excited about this venue, as we live in the neighborhood and spend so much time around the lake. We wanted to share this with our wedding guests. We got in contact with the venue about 15 months before our wedding. Throughout the 15 months, we were bounced between 3 different coordinators, and communication in general was very slow. It often took a follow up email over the span of 3-4 days to get a response. We secured the venue 1 year prior to our wedding date. Before securing the venue, we confirmed the timing of the event, as we planned to have a live band play. We communicated this to the coordinator, and she assured us that we would be able to have music outside until 10pm. About 4 months before the wedding, while meeting with the coordinator, she casually mentioned that music needed to end an hour sooner (9pm) and the whole event would need to end an hour sooner (10pm). We had already printed our invites and paid our wedding band for the timing of the event. Lancer offered no compensation in exchanged for this. Communication regarding this issue went on for a few months. 3 weeks before the wedding, it was still not resolved. The coordinator and operations manager were not responding to our calls or emails. It was eventually resolved when we went to their office and were able to confront the coordinator. I sincerely hope this was a one-off situation. They were very difficult and unpleasant to work with. The food was wonderful - our guests had so many great things to say about that. The bartenders went above and beyond. They were great! The catering staff working the night of the wedding seemed to be fine. The views and venue itself were gorgeous. Unfortunately, the stress of working with Lancer Catering was not worth using the Como Pavilion as our venue. Reviewed on 13-07-2023
Jessica Haines(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2022 When I was planning with the main coordinator, Lyndsey, everything was going great and we were so excited for our reception. However, when Robin took over while she was on leave, everything quickly went downhill. Our calls and emails were ignored, our questions weren't answered, our menu was messed up, and we didn't get to put in the final payment until a day before the event, when it was due a week before since Robin wouldn't update the contract with the correct menu items, and again generally ignored our emails. On the day of our reception, we went to set up in the morning so everything would be ready for the florist. When we arrived, we learned that Robin didn't update any of the staff on our timeline (which was listed in the contract), so we had to set up and clean ourselves. The manager, Tim, was amazing and was able to help us pull it off in time. Luckily the venue itself is beautiful and none of the guests noticed. We were able to enjoy the reception, but getting there was awful. We were also supposed to get a refund from beverages that weren't used, but even that wasn't processed correctly. If you're planning your event here, it might not be worth the headache and all of the time you'll have to put in covering for the staff's incompetencies. Reviewed on 17-06-2022
Kelsey Lindberg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-09-2020 Awesome location with beautiful views. We have our wedding there on 9/6/2020 - from the time we secured the venue (very affordable) to the time we had our wedding Patty was a wonderful person to work with. She was very kind and efficient with her communication as well as providing thorough information and selection choices. Chef Franky was amazing to work with and EXTREMELY accommodating to our selection of serving Indian food. They were also very cauttious and considerate when it came to planning a wedding during covid, taking all the precautions needed. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VENUE AND WORKING WITH PATTY MICHAELS. Lancer catering is great, bartending service was superb and out wedding day was impeccably beautiful. Reviewed on 18-10-2020
I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have been married to my best friend for 8 years and I have 2 sons. I have been in the hospitality industry for 20+ years. Started in this business as a server and then found I love and had a passion for planning events. Each event is unique on its own and being able to help execute the dream day for you is something I strive for. I believe you must have a passion for what you do and take pride in it. I think Como Lakeside Pavilion is such an amazing place to host an event so it’s a perfect fit for me.
